silken tears upon the earth befell
I remember the day the outsiders first arrived. I had just returned from prayer, and traversing the village I spotted the two newcomers. They were strange folk, entirely malequipped for the kind of winter that had arrived early. Their pristine, delicate shoes were sinking into the mud that now pervaded the roadsides. Of the academic sort, if the bound books beneath the arm of one and the robes the two of them wore were any indication to go by.
Or; A storm comes to a lone coastline hamlet where the world is to be broken.

Now i am 👀 at your ludwig's wife oc (if its fine for you to share about ofc ofc)
I got so carried away here's another longpost lol i am sorry
I'd be happy to tell you about her!!!
Her name is Alicia, and she is a noblewoman. Alicia was engaged to Laurence from a young age. What can I say, their two noble families sealed the pact the old fashioned way. There was even a mutual sending of portraits to each other, though I can't say they lived too far apart. I just like to think that this tradition was kept alive by the nobles of Yharnam, despite its impracticality and the high cost of a good artist.
The little lady was growing up and studying diligently, was obedient and never disappointed her parents, dreamed of a family and children. She was in love with Laurence, although she saw him only a few times, when they were 10-12 years old. But in her sentimental and romantical head (which in addition absorbed a lot of love novels) grew the image of a wise and mature man who would love her passionately. Alicia was only home educated and was good at playing the piano and singing, and spoke several languages. But she had never attended Byrgenwerth, and therefore had no idea what her fiancé was going through.
How did Laurence himself feel about her? I think he didn't care for her when he was young. He just didn't realize that at one point he would be married. To a woman he didn't even got to know. Plus, the visit to the Fishing Hamlet became his everything, so he hardly remembered that he had a wedding appointment. Added to that, he had experienced romantic feelings for Rom that were not yet mutual.
Alicia was very feminine and generally girly girl, only rather infantile. Her outlook and plans for life were fixated on a nice wedding.
I'll also add that she's a brunette with pale skin that has been called porcelain (since I have no inspiration for drawing her ;_;)
When the Healing Church was founded and the masses heard about it, Alicia was worried. She hadn't planned to marry a priest and truly didn't understand why things had turned out this way. Her first meeting with Laurence in a long time had occurred shortly before the planned marriage. They didn't understand each other too much when she was telling him her romantic dreams and he was trying to convey his ambitions and actually liking the other woman.
Laurence couldn't find the strength to explain himself to Alicia in person. And… He simply refused the engagement and the accompanying wedding! Not only was this excruciatingly painful for the lovesick Alicia, but it also branded her as “unwanted” bride for society. The chance of her finding a husband again after this was extremely small, and her family cut off all contact with Laurence, threatening that he would never see her dowry. But that hardly mattered to the future leader of the Church, especially since Rom was beginning to show a mutual interest in him.
In her hysterics Alicia was feeling all the pain of her broken heart and the “dishonorable” status she had received. And I can't say she handled her emotions well. She stopped eating normally, leaving her room or doing anything at all. Basically, life was over for her - Alicia had grown up with her family's ideals and longed to be the perfect wife and mother. What made it even worse was that she saw Rom in person (from afar, but saw her nonetheless). Comparing herself to the young scientist made her self-image even worse. Red-haired, freckled, with large hips, unrestrained, “too” smart - in a word, a barbarian in a skirt. And this Laurence chose over elegant and quiet lady? Alicia was desperate and jealous.
Tumblr media
But… Laurence knew that because of his behavior he is openly hated not only by a particular woman, but also the whole family. And that was too much for the founding Church. He had no contact with Alicia in any way, trying to forget about her, and the girl was rotting away in her house, as powerless and helpless as she was. Alicia knew Adeline, but the latter was also a “savage” for she was a rebel by nature, and devoted herself to the Church, so their past friendship led to nowhere.
And so, in time, when a young (40 is youth) and handsome hunter arrived in Yharnam, a plan appeared in Laurence's mind. In fact, he suggested to Alicia's family that they marry off their daughter to the arriving foreigner. And as unpleasant as the idea of “foreign” blood in the family was to the Conservative family, there was simply no other option for Alicia. Especially since Ludwig was good-looking, and Yharnam was happy to accept such an fine hunter. Of course, no one asked Alicia. And what was the point? It was her only chance for a good marriage.
Ludwig, too, was not immediately informed. Let's just say that Laurence had given him an ultimatum that Ludwig MUST marry a yharnamite woman in order to get some rights in the city. Like, until he unites himself by blood with someone local, he is not local and is nobody at all, i.e., has no right for property or anything else (Laurence exaggerated the necessity of the wedding a bit, but it was really important to him. He thought Alicia was a bit dumb, and therefore he believed that through her he would be able to watch the First Hunter of the Church from afar).
When Alicia learned that she had been sold again to some man for the good of the family, she was hysterical again. Her family had long calmed her down, promising her a good husband. Her respect for her elders began to shatter, and the girl no longer wanted to be perfect for them. But it turned out to be too late. In her imagination she began to demonize her future husband, and in general, despite his attractiveness, he seemed repulsive to her, and Ludwig did not find what to say to the bride, who looks at him with eyes full of hatred and tears.
The wedding took place and a weeping Alicia said her vows of loyalty to her husband. Alicia waited for the wedding night as her own punishment for all her sins. However, the first private conversation took place between them exactly there. Lying in the dark, in bed, Alicia cried quietly, and Ludwig silently stared somewhere up, not understanding why he deserved all this. He offered to lie to her family about the wedding night, and stain the sheet with his own blood, and his calm voice and sympathy calmed the girl a little. She had not expected such understanding and lightness of temper from a warrior, a foreigner. And she agreed to the first big lie in her life.
Ludwig was given a small estate, a house near Yharnam, and he and Alicia set about creating a cozy household. The couple began to talk in the evenings, and Alicia learned much about the world and the nature of hunting. As Yharnam was changing, decorated with statues lifted from Ptumerian tombs, Alicia familiarized herself with the new religion and her spouse, who returned home each day and told her something new. The longing for Laurence subsided, and the girl even felt a warmth for her spouse, a desire to show care, though she resisted these feelings.
No one knew what was going on in the secluded house, but the conflict was over - Laurence “corrected” his mistake, providing the girl with a future, and the First Hunter of the Church gradually found his place among people. Ludwig accepted Communion, and Alicia received high quality, purified blood from the Church.
The couple became good friends, and when Laurence tried to invite Alicia to talk to him and ask for a “favor,” she refused, and the vicar noticed how much the girl had changed in the few months she had been with the hunter. Alicia began to attend Church much more often, and also donated money there, sponsoring blood observations. She became acquainted with the female hunters - Maria, Gratia, and those willingly showed the girl their skills. Alicia's idea of a woman's life also changed after meeting Maria, with her story, and the noble little lady with thin hands tried for the first time to take a weapon, a threaded cane, although it seemed too heavy for her.
In those great times Alicia became pregnant one evening when they drank a lot of wine. And Ludwig was happy, because their first intimacy happened to be without tears and pain, filled with warmth, brought such a gift as a child. It meant that their duty as married couples was done, and they could both breathe a little, for society would no longer judge them.
They had a girl, Charlotte, who took her father's slightly dark skin and brown hair. Although Ludwig and Alicia did become a family, they knew they couldn't act like a usual couple all the time. So they agreed that their daughter would not find out that her parents had... unusual relationship with each other.
Around this time, Logarius shows up in Ludwig's life (insistently kicking the door with his foot and barging in). It was weird for Ludwig, but Alicia didn't mind him having a lover (he informed his wife right away and I find that funny), just asked for another arrangement - in return she could also have a lover on the side. Ludwig expected a scandal since Alicia grew up in a very conservative family. Did they have some sort of polyamory then? Maybe. Since Alicia and Ludwig still kinda loved for each other, they shared hugs, kisses, and bed, and their home was nice and peaceful. But also Ludwig had passion for his colleague.
Tumblr media
Alicia found her husband's lover very amusing, for Logarius was judged among the yharnamites as a Holy man but also cruel hero. Some called him a traitor of his home, and some feared him, and some hated him. It seemed to her that the man the crowd was discussing and the man her husband was interested in were two different people. The passion between the two males had once seemed repulsive to her, but as a teenager she even liked to think about such things, even though she considered it sinful (fellow fujoshi yay)
Once Logarius was even invited to their house for a family dinner. In his mind, Ludwig's wife must have hated him, so he didn't understand why he was even invited (Even Alicia didn't know why the fuck Ludwig wanted her to meet executioner who he shares bed with). During the dinner he was politely questioned about his service to Yharnam and his past, and a little Charlotte even asked him to tell more stories (and it was difficult, as almost everything in the Executioners' history was bloody). Ludwig had never seen his lover so confused, with a look of genuine surprise on his face, but Alicia, on the contrary, felt free and enjoyed talking to the noble descendant of Cainhurst, and at the same time to a man about whom she knew much more than he thought (Ludwig told her too much about his affairs, and in general Alicia knew EVERYTHING about Logarius)
But the idyll didn't last long, soon something began to change. Ludwig began to be tormented by visions that came out of nowhere, bloody and prophetic. He dreamed of killing his loved ones, saw the fall of Yharnam, had violent dreams with his beloved daughter. And one day he woke up with his fist raised over his wife sleeping beside him. The blood that Laurence had injected into him was beginning to take effect, and Ludwig's susceptible mind felt it. G
radually Church changed its course from beasts to enlightenment. Many people mutated, and the estate was nearly attacked by beasts. One of the mutated yharnamites that broke through the door of the house was stunned by Alicia herself, and she remembered it as her most serious experience in battle. Their small, cozy estate with a few servants stood on the outskirts of the city, and asking for help in this way proved very difficult.
Alicia had changed during her married life. What she thought was pompous and barbaric turned out to be ordinary human behavior. And she herself had become sharper on the tongue, easier to talk to, and more resistant to emotions. She even wanted to ask Ludwig to teach her wield a weapon but hadn't a chance - her husband was too busy with the Hunt.
Ludwig had taken over the Executioners after Logarius had not returned from Cainhurst. He had almost stopped showing up at home, as well have a healthy perception of reality.
In Yharnam appeared too many beasts, and during a hunt, Ludwig came to protect his home from attack. In the beast-ravaged manor he found neither wife nor daughter, only more beasts. Tired, intoxicated with blood, Ludwig walked in despair. He beheaded so many beasts and among them was a fanged, thin creature harboring a lump of mutated flesh. Without hesitation, Ludwig slashed both of them with his sword, only recognizing little Charlotte's voice in the little lump's death whimper. The thin-limbed beast fell on its child, but silver ring on its finger let Ludwig recognize his wife. After that, his sanity finally left him.

I just love how Kin end up resembling the (respective) Phantasms
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crawlers is just me speculating on whether they could be grown up parasites of the type that effected Kos ASS usual, but in general I think Brainsuckers being their after-effect is pretty evident! Especially considering their specific hunger for Insight, when:
Tumblr media
Like Adeline's yearning for more of it! Personally, I headcanon that Brainsuckers is what becomes of Research Hall patients whose "treatment" is stopped already after point of no-return but they survive, and hunger for Brain Fluid makes them like that! And all things considered the "water" patients received was linked to Fishing Hamlet; parasites could get transmitted by a mistake, or on purpose to make patients less 'receptive'! Thumbs up, thumbs down...?
Tumblr media
I think by design the Slug Scholars are self-explanatory, and also we do find Augur of Ebrietas in Byrgenwerth!
Tumblr media
Interestingly, using Augur of Ebrietas does not turn user's arm into tentacles temporarily like it could look at the first glance! Just summons them. So basically, you just squeeze the slug to use its powers? Like how you hold the Call Beyond up and, presumably, pull its tendrills to summon the stars? Makes me wonder how do phantasms effect people to the point of assimilation, since Kin means that the creature was once a human (looking at messed up Fluorescent Flower)?
Tumblr media
Since Kos Parasite can be utilized as extention of one's arm only if the person becomes the "vessel", I guess this is just this simple. You either "advance" your humanity like stronger Kin (Gardens of Eyes or Celestial Emissaries), or you "sacrifice" it completely to become something more important. In other words, for stronger Kin, it is essence and guidance of Great Ones that lives through them, but for weaker Kin, it is parasites that just make them their vessels.
But yeah, common Hunters W not becoming creatures but just grabbing and pulling Phantasms to use their powers.
P.S.: Could the Fluorescent Flower in Byrgenwerth be yet another Choir member, besides Yurie, that "came back", but kinda gave in?
Tumblr media
+ since it does respawn, could be interpreted as several people. But it also has spider features, and spiders are immortal (Patches respawns even after being killed but just doesn't interact anymore, Rom can be fought multiple times). No, but when will good spots for OCs end lol

ty for the tag @birdyverdie :D using this picrew to make an OC > < if they had a role dd, maybe it could be to gather the insects and fish around the hamlet for study? Ideally, they'd be an eldritch penguin thing wandering the paths of the cove/shroud/courtyard, but this could be a human form/alt role :0

That's like me first time seeing this
Also, while I was desperately trying to find where 'Agatha' came from, I've ended up looking at official DLC guide that I've never seen before ( x ). I never was able to lay my dirty hands on official merch of this kind (and now never will again), but looks like I was kinda wrong:
Tumblr media
All five of you remember my interpretation, right? I find it strange because not only all clues towards Willem still being important and relevant in the Healing Church are still in the game plain and clear, but also even in Japanese title for Laurence, his status refers to "the guy that replaces the ACTUAL leader of [religious institution]" ( x ).
It does not change... too much? But yeah, I will have to loosen my theory up and properly keep Willem as someone who stayed behind in Byrgenwerth, simply writing it as Healing Church still had contact with him (that secret cave in the woods, Yurie the Last SCHOLAR(!), that Church Giant in Lecture Hall, Byrgenwerth doing the Fishing Hamlet yet that's considered Church's secret, Willem and Byrgenwerth being aware of Laurence's Moon Presence and Gehrman even asking Willem to free him etc)... until it was declared "forbidden" later, for the same reason why Oedon Chapel ended up rumoured as cringefail place. I was moving towards it anyways, but now just more certainly! So, Byrgenwerth and Healing Church WERE in tight contact even after Laurence started doing his thing but Willem didn't help to found shit, he just layed back and watched the youth learn from their mistakes lol.
youtube
This also means that this altair is more likely not how Willem used to look, but Laurence, when I thought the opposite was true:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the other hand:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The guide confirms what already was in the game but is often glossed over by the fandom; that Fishing Hamlet massacre was order of WILLEM and not Laurence and even devs say there is legit connection, that Willem wants us to hunt Rom and that Amelia was not a direct successor of Laurence but there were other Vicars that can make cool OCs!
Tumblr media
Otherwise, nothing new was learned! Just that fiiiiine, I will return Laurence his proper role and push Willem back to be little to none active in Healing Church's life like it was meant to be. I wish I've seen this statement on the nose before, and not some vague cutscene with many other things in the game pointing towards a different interpretation 🙄 (@val-of-the-north come begrudgingly sing the Wrong Song with me xd (Okay I am joking, like I said it barely changes our story, just makes Willem elbowed away stronger. he still dresses like a pope tho so Byrgenwerth totally was a theocratical school)).
..... ah, shit, right, Agatha
Yeah me and the girls figured out that it was just a placeholder name that stuck and no official source ever called Chapel Dweller that. Not even in the same name as how Djura used to be called Guyla in promo materials, like... ever. Chapel Dweller was and IS a nameless babygirl.

Meet the S/I: Julia
This time, I took the bad writing personally and was really fueled by spite towards it when developing this S/I
Time for Julia, codenamed Pikes for Fire Embul Fates!
Self Insert or OC? Started off as a self insert, but I’ve definitely flanderized her personality into an OC as I’ve distanced myself from Fates’ writing.
Appearance:
Tumblr media
(Won this in an art raffle on Tweetor oooooh)
Her signature color is green, but I can also see her in blue and orange. She wears a man’s Hero outfit for her main appearance because I do not like how it has a skirt.
Basic Info:
Birthday: Right now I have it as June 7th as well, but upon reflection, I wonder if I should change it 🤔
Likes: …originally she had my original likes of mythology and chocolate but I might change that as well.
Dislikes: Noh//rian nobility and royalty
Classes: Mercenary, Hero, Kinshi Knight
Character relationship dynamics:
Romantic: Kaze (…there’s also a crackship with Tar//ba aka the boss of Shiro’s map)
Friends: Aza//ma, Sakura, Benny
Mentors: Reina, Yukimura
Rivalry: Xander
Background, Personality, & Changes I’ve Made from Canon:
Background: Born in a Noh//rian noble family, with her father being a retired General, Julia spent whatever free time she could playing with common folk much to her mother’s chagrin. She realized how miserable they were and wanted to help ease their pains, but even with her noble standing and attempts to help, the king made damn well sure everyone suffered. One day, she decided enough was enough and wanted to overthrow Ga//ron. She felt she couldn’t fight on the inside, though, so she fled to Hosh//ido to find help on the outside. She crashed at the Kitsune Hamlet but was recruited by the queen of Hos//hido after a visit to the Hamlet. Julia wears scarves that her mother gave her as bandannas, and gave herself the name Pikes so that she wouldn’t be easily recognized when she eventually returns home.
Personality: Her flanderization definitely comes into play in wanting to overthrow Gar//on. She’s not Peri or Reina enthusiastic about killing, mind you, but she becomes very goal focused and tends to not see the outside world/bigger picture as a result.
Changes I’ve Made from Canon: Were this a just world, Fates might have been like a really good seinen. But alas. It is not. During my prime salt days, I pictured a Dark//Souls 3 AU with a sprinkling of Dragon//Age level morality choices. Magic corrupted Noh//r and made it the terrible kingdom it is today. BUT YEAH, Julia could potentially be like Tho//rrfin if I want to keep the seinen parallel. Or Kaze could help her by helping remind her she’s fighting for others rather than for the demise of a king. Her & Kaze have a son named Gilligan who likes fishing a bunch :>

Sonic Villain OCs!
So I've peddled about Deirdre a lot, but in her little AU world, I've got several villains that are her recurring baddies. I wrote up a few profiles on them for anyone interested for what bubbles at my headspace lately.
Gyre the Ibis
“My stratagems are sound. I simply need better soldiers.”
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Independent, Resistance(Formerly), Battle-Bird Armada(Formerly)
Description: Primary Color: White body. Orange-red masking around his eyes resembling goggles. Yellow beak. Fingertips are black feathers. Stylized take on an American White Ibis. Looks similar to Babylon Rogues. Lank, “Geek shaped”.
Wears a knee length, drab olive all weather coat buttoned up to his neck. Shoes are boot polish black. Attempts to look imposing and militaristic and serious.
Weapon of Choice: Gyre has a reprogrammed Valkeen that he brings out if he feels there is going to be a threat to his person. He prefers to keep it hidden to call it in should he need to escape.
Personality: Gyre is a legend in his own mind. He is a tactical genius. He is a clear headed, rational thinker who knows how to make the tough calls. In his mind, every decision is one of cruel calculus that no one but him seems to be willing to do. He is surrounded by a world of tools and fools, how he treats others is based on where he decides they fall. On a positive side, he can be cunning and prudent and his ego is not borne of overconfidence. He knows when to fold ‘em should the situation turn against him.
Background: Gyre’s background is simple. He grew in simple circumstances and found enjoyment in testing his mind against others; enjoying feeling superior and basking in adulation for his successes in education, games and glory. He did well in his small hamlet, and the taste of superiority led him to looking toward the Battle Bird Armada as his chance to become a figure of greatness. He learned quickly that he was a small fish in a very big pond. Unable to move upward, he stewed until Eggman’s conquest smashed through the Armada, GUN, and most of the world. Gyre took his chance and took leave of the Armada, cutting loose and escaping with his hide.
From there, he joined the resistance, inflating his military background for leverage. It did not take long for the Resistance to push back his influence. Much of his grand strategy was to expend as many resources as possible in order to secure any victory no matter how meaningless. He proved himself too willing to sacrifice others for the sake of scraps. He once again quickly found himself out of favor. Made worse when the war finally ended and the Resistance dissolved.
Gyre’s attention turned toward the scattered Eggman Empire. They could possibly use his intel, and his desire to get revenge on the Restoration for their slight to his ego. However, this plan was cut short by the Metal Virus. One of countless victims, in the aftermath Gyre determined the Eggman Empire to be just as much an enemy as every other power. He would not serve, he would command. He would finally work his way to becoming “General Gyre”. If he could only get good, loyal, proper soldiers as an army for his superior mind.
Boxcars the Badger
“Three rules in life; don’t apologize, don’t hold grudges, and always get while the getting’s good.”
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Gyre
Description: Tall and broad, little chunky. Upsized Sonic character model. Smithy or Tumble from IDW. Color pattern is the same as an American badger, though substitute the black for a very dark blue tone. Eyes are brown.
His wardrobe is minimal and standard for Sonic styled males. big simple brown boots and heavy cuffed gloves. Wears a newsie cap.
Weapon of Choice: Generally his hands. When he feels serious, he slips on a pair of narrow, thick knuckledusters.
Personality:  Boxcars is a genial, emotionally intelligent guy. Genuinely friendly and outgoing, he is loud, almost always presenting good humor and quick to laugh a deep belly laugh. This is no lie, nor a ruse. However, Boxcars is also a deeply self-interested person and a consummate survivor. He does what he wants, as he wants, and he’s quick to get out whenever things possibly present too much of a threat. He is an outlaw because it allows him a good fight and a degree of freedom that he craves. Particularly so because he can trust heroic types to always pull punches in ways that more murderous villains do not. Prone to using pet names(Sweetheart, Sunshine, etc) in lieu of names because he never really wants to get too close to people.
Background: Boxcars keeps a lot of his past close to his chest, so most of the detail is not well known. He is originally from Central City and while he didn’t have much to his name, he was always a little bigger and tougher than everyone around him. He learned young that he could leverage that into getting what he wanted through leveraging size and through learning to enjoy a good fight if his target had more mettle than he expected. At times he worked with others, other times he worked solo, but he was never much more than a pugnacious goon. And that was all well and good for him.
Crisis after crisis, Shattered Worlds and Eggman’s conquest, taught Boxcars how to survive while looking out for himself. He knew that groups like The Resistance would only be problems for him once the big threats went away, so he made it a point to keep a low profile and to live in the corners around the greater conflict. While he was a bruiser, he knew people liked you if you were friendly, which was easy for him to be. He never had anything against anyone, it was just that he enjoyed his lifestyle the way it was. He could live meager, and whenever things settled down, he would appear again.
Metal Virus was the same routine to Boxcars. When things went to hell, the badger went underground and out of the way. He maintains that he never once was in danger of being infected. Just another example of whenever the grave danger shows up, Boxcars’ puts his experience into making certain he can avoid having to deal with it as much as possible. Only in the aftermath did Gyre finally seek him out, looking to hire muscle for a robbery of some leftover Eggtech lab. Boxcars saw a predictable egotist, but not a threat. It would be a simple job to help the latest wannabe.
Cathode the Basenji
“. . .no.”
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Gyre
Description: A creamsicle orange canine with pointed ears and a tightly curled tail. Her eyes are a dark blue. She lacks any “head hair”, but has more fluff at the back of her neck to mimic longer ends.
Her outfit is overalls or a jumpsuit, usually tied at the waist, colored blue.
Weapon of Choice: Homemade shock baton attached to a modified battery pack she carries at her hip.
Personality: Cathode is taciturn, focused, and curious. She consistently holds a high opinion of herself compared to others, primarily because of the high level of priority she places on things she considers “tangible”. Machines, mechanics, math, functional and provable skill are all things that she enjoys. Otherwise, she finds herself in insecure positions and insecure positions are, to her, to be avoided entirely. Other people, with their inconsistency and idiosyncrasies, are troublesome. Her desires are to get her hands on whatever kind of machinery or gear that the likes of Tails and Eggman have created so she can take them apart for her own study.
Background: Born on a small, isolated island, Cathode’s interest in machines defined a lot of her formative years. She learned to fix and repair the shared equipment of her family and the few other families that shared their small rock of a home. With few other children, she spent most of her time with adults and functioned mostly as a set of hands to help out. Over time, she grew resentful despite her rapidly growing knowledge as the scarce resources and constant repair needs of the aging equipment meant that while she was invaluable, she wasn’t able to spread her wings and truly experiment and tinker.
The news of the great technological advances of Eggman astounded her. She craved getting her hands on those machines. She wanted nothing more than to dissect them, and to learn how they tick. But still she was kept from her desires by the short sighted, pragmatic minds of the others in her village. This bitter resentment was made all the worse when she heard about Tails and the young genius’ capabilities just reminded her of her own stolen opportunity. She blamed the others for needing her, demanding of her, and under the cover of night she slowly dismantled equipment around the island to cobble together a small boat in order to make her escape.
Unfortunately for Cathode, she arrived in Sunset City just in time for the Metal Virus to be dumped upon her.
In the aftermath, she has struggled to find footing. Her interests in getting ahold of Eggtech to dissect has required her to involve herself with shadier figures. When Gyre presented her with the opportunity to get ahold of the real deal, possibly without battle damage, Cathode could hardly pass that up.
Pierce the Wolf
“Every heart pleads for a “better world”, but no two minds can agree on a definition.”
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Eggman Empire
Description: A tall male wolf with leaner, pointier features than normal. Color is primarily a desaturated, pale blue, close to an off-white. He has a small scar on his right cheek underlining his eye Outfit is a standard red and black Eggman Empire uniform. He has an affectation of diamond stud cufflinks added to the uniform
Weapon of choice: Stiletto. One regular, a secondary spring assisted one hidden on his person.
Personality: Broadly speaking, his personality and demeanor is malleable given the needs of the situation. He will be self effacing one moment, bragging the next. He will be cruel and calculating, or he will present the noblest of faces. Who he seems to be in a moment may not be the person he is in the next. The only truth is that Pierce cares only for himself and what furthers his own ambitions toward power. Everything else is a pawn or a player in the game of power. He is still an empathic person, however, that talent and honed skill is tuned primarily toward his enormous self-interest.
Background: Pierce is from a long standing family of leaders on a small, cold island chain. He was the latest to inherit the charge of his town, having taken over the unofficial but de facto role from his late parents. He found that town leadership was dull and ultimately limited, though he continued with it as was his duty. The global assault by Eggman, however, rocked the wolf’s world deep to the core. He saw in that moment just how small everything around him was. He saw that all he could accomplish was leading a tiny series of specks that were nothing more than crumbs for the real giants to clean up. And he wanted to be one of those giants.
Eggman’s swift success told him plainly that the Empire was the faction in which to throw his lot. It was not difficult to convince his people that it was the best idea. That they were small and not noticeable. Some he promised that they would be overlooked. Some he promised industrial potential in the new Empire. And soon he had followers behind his plan. A false show of support toward GUN. They were struck quickly and Pierce promised their small fishing villages would be safe for them to hide and recover from the devastation. Only to swiftly turn on them, envelop, and claim GUN materiel and hostages for himself. All a present to appease Eggman. His proposal worked well enough. Eggman wasn’t going to be impressed by GUN soldiers or technology, but the kind of social skills and cutthroat cunning could be useful for future endeavors. That said, Eggman also knew that Pierce needed to be separated from his home, and from easily manipulated flesh and blood soldiers as well. Pierce was made an offer, but it would cost him his people and home. Pierce only delayed responding as to not appear too eager.
Pierce found himself repositioned and given a small base of operations and a contingent of badniks. His goal would be to seed himself in the region in preparation for a new invasion. One that would be curtailed when the metal virus infected the world. And while he recovered, he knew then that Eggman was not going to be the one to lose this war in the end. The Doctor was simply too capable in an emergency to be counted on losing. If anything, it told Pierce that his decisions to become and remain an Egg Boss was the right one.
Once again he is returned to his base, still chafing under the provisions given to him by Eggman. He knows he is being watched and controlled. That he is a pawn in a greater game. But he has time. And he has patience. And when he looks out from the window of his quarters, he can see the sparkling lights of the city that is his prey.

Thank you a lot! 🥹 and to everyone else too!
Ok so i’m profiting of the answer to speak about more things!
Ok so with Simon’s set we knew they already look for signs of beasthood in the population right (old hunters beginning church hunters era?) I feel it was more to look for people similars to the 1/4 transformed huntsmen in central Yharnam or crazy npc doors you know. Those have clear symptoms of beasthood/ bloodrunk and all.
Then we knew in present day that change and it’s the black church hunters/ doctors who just decided to pick people up they can’t stand for experimentation or smt and fake « everything is fine it’s preventive lol » and calm everyone else + take care of people that could « bother them » what a mess 💀 you idiot they don’t have symptoms !!!
So idk when this change occured exactly (maybe after Laurence but who knows) but you understand i wanted to show it! But i agree beasts became a bigger problem/ treats too. More of them and bigger and all…
Now about Gehrman (if you noticed, all his hair haven’t turned grey yet hehe. And in the flashback he already have a bit too much grey hair for his age… thanks stress 😔 he aged poorly. Look what the fishing hamlet do! Half of people have their hair turning gray the other half become crazy! If not both!)
+ yes i have a really detailed backstory about the grief deppresed gehrman era T_T i tried to put as many details as i could, i hope to explain it more in details one day..
for now a few anecdotes : The moment i imagined when he’s a bit drunk get mad, punch a window, run away, locked himself and Laurence come to speak with him was inspired by smt that happened to my parents and one of their friends who was a bit too drunk at a party xD
The discusion with Laurence was so angsty damn. And yeah Gehrman was seriously concerned he was turning too. « I am turning into a beast?! » « Nop you’re just depressed! But stop having blood just in case.. » 😂
Of course there’s mr boom hammer cameo p5 because i needed smn! And an old hunter oc who’s Lucen’s uncle.
P7 : of course i’m the only one with the ref when he looks at the sea and the full moon ahhh!!!!! It’s actually a really really dark scene i imagined… but hey the aftermath is way more positive and even a bit comic with the other characters involve i guess…
You know what he’s sewing. I don’t have to explain xD and of course! Doggo!!!! 👀 yep the dog!
And have you catch the weird blue hand with too much fingers p9? 🤭

Here's what I have been up to this last few days, a little Bloodborne fan comic! I'm happy how it turned out.
I love this game, it's mechanics, differents parts, characters, enemies, music and of course I've been fascinated with it's lore for more than year now.
The Black Church Set description is always a point that fascinated me, yet make my skin crawl each time I think about it : Most Healing Church hunters are elementary doctors who understand the importance of early prevention of the scourge, achieved by disposing of victims, and even potential victims, before signs of sickness manifest themselves.  Their black attire is synonymous with fear, and that peculiar Yharnam madness. When a cancer is discovered, one must pinpoint its location, reach in, and wrench it from the host's bosom."
It's not talk enough and when it made us understand what horrors and in what state Yharnam was living before the hunter show up.
Additional I mixt this with my very own story concerning Gehrman's past. After Lady Maria passed away but before the Hunter's Dream.
I wanted to represent how we pass from the old hunters to the church hunters & doctors taking personally matters in their hands. As well as the harsh reality some of the inhabitants faced.

can we have.......... ☮ for ludwig, ☠ for yurie, ▼ for impostor iosefka, anddd ☆ for caryll !
The ask game itself
☮ - friendship headcanon for Ludwig
Since I always imagined Ludwig as a foreigner, this means he left his homeland to serve and help Yharnam. He is an easy-going person and easily makes friends wherever he goes. In his homeland he had quite a few friends among the local knighthood and nobility that he missed. But in Yharnam he also found friendship with many - his wife, Gehrman, Maria, the whole Tomb Prospectors' squad, Logarius ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), but I consider his friendship with Laurence to be the one that has been building the longest!
In my headcanons their relationship began with mutual dislike and Laurence's strong desire to take advantage of such a quality sample of fresh blood from foreign lands. Ludwig had far more respect for Willem, for old and wise scholar. And Laurence, for his part, was not shy about accustoming Ludwig to the ways of Yharnam and, in fact, found him a wife with the benefit to himself in mind (that's probably another story, because Ludwig's wife is an OC I'm not talking about, but I think a lot). Also their age difference was big - they were separated by about 20 years.
Gradually, however, Laurence proved himself to be a good leader, and Ludwig became convinced that he was really trying for the people of his town. The growing respect made it easier for the Holy Blade to trust the vicar's orders, and encouraged him to devote himself to Yharnam wholeheartedly, so much so that he began to forget his homesickness. Ludwig had not been initiated into religious ordinances (eye-growing, dead Kos, etc.) for a long time, and the first hunter of the Church was in the same ignorance as the city he was defending.
They were also brought together by matters of love, which both were eager to discuss. Laurence adored gossip, and Ludwig was in constant need of advice regarding both of his beloved ones. Also, Laurence knew his young daughter, as he had been a guest of his once. After seeing how Ludwig played and interacted with his daughter, the vicar began to dream of having a child of his own, and later adopted a girl, Amelia :з
☠ - angry/violent headcanon for Yurie
When all the inhabitants of the Fishing Hamlet were exterminated (I believe the way we see them in the DLC Nightmare is something like their true appearance. And in reality, the hunters only killed a few monsters when the rest were still human), and Kos's body was still on the shore, Willem led the future scholars of Yharnam there, Yurie among them. Her reaction to what she saw, like most of the students, was hysterical and unrestrained.
But everyone had their own reasons to be horrified. While Rom and Mikolash heard whispers near the body of the Great One, and Laurence was deep in thought, trying to figure out how to perceive the world, Yurie was afraid of the village itself. Her inner panic rose to the point where she no longer realized where she was, and the desire to destroy the vile, disgusting place prevailed. The sight of people under whose skin the flesh of unearthly creatures glistened, the realization that this was all not someone's story but a life, put her sanity at risk. Yurie hung around the empty houses, out of sight of the others. And her hands, white with fear, had mutilated several corpses of humans and more.
One of the monsters, discovered later by scientists among the ruins, had been battered, presumably by a heavy stone. Its torso had been cut open by someone, staining everything around it with a disgusting bloody mess, and had reduced its internal organs to mush.
Yurie hoped that this act of hers had remained hidden. However, from that moment on, she was no longer a reliable support for Rom, though Rom never told her so, torturing her heart with coldness and hints of affection </3
▼ - childhood headcanon for impostor Iosefka
I've never thought much about Fauxsefka's childhood, but I'm sure that someone so cunning and sly must have grown up under the supervision of a very strong maternal figure. At birth her name was Madlene, and she comes from a part of the Yharnam nobility that has always remained in the shadows. All because of her close kinship to Cainhurst (her father Literally came from there), and at first it was a point of pride, and then they had to never mention it again.
She was quite an arrogant child (and imitated her mother in many ways), and as a young girl she got to see 10-year-old Maria when her family showed up at the Queen's court. The girls failed to be friends, and little Madlene complained to her mother that Maria was behaving inappropriately for a noble lady, for which she was severely punished. It was a small thing, but contributed to the fact that the girls never socialized and avoided each other, obeying shyness and old grudges.
When the future Impostor Iosefka and Yurie worked in the Research Hall, Madlene (sorry, I'm just so used to calling her by that name) insisted that Yurie ignore Maria and Lady Adeline's affairs, and got angry when little Edgar admired the kindness of the huntress. Thus Madlene ignored even Maria's funeral. To her, Maria remained a weak and vulnerable child </3 Doing her research, she tried to become WAY better than her distant, pathetic (as she thought) relative
☆ - happy headcanon for Caryll
Caryll had few events in his life that he could call happy, and mostly those events were related to Rom (in one way or another). But it was also the dreams that brought him joy. Not immediately, at first (while he was a student of Byrgenwerth) his dreams and visions consisted entirely of vague images, stress, and something terrible lurking at the root of the dreamng reality. But over time, he learned to make contact with the evil that troubled his dreams, and he also learned to immerse himself in the visions enough to memorize them and realize himself there.
His little happiness was his own little house on the border of dreams, which he had created himself and to which he had learned to come. His imagination allowed him to furnish it with memories from his childhood, and to create a letter shelf where his memories were kept. In his dreams, he never lost the ability to walk, nor did he suffer from migraines (but his glasses remained on even in his dream).
I believe that when the Good Hunter begins the Hunt, Caryll is in his dream, like Gehrman in the Hunter's Nightmare. So he's not in the real world anymore, not even a corpse. He's just gone there and is happy there! (Also he even has his own Rom like Doll, but who is nothing more than a mere embodiment of his memories. Doll but without pain and cognition)
