I've taken a course on CG illustration some time ago (School CG Lab, mentor Alexandr Leskinen), and here's what I did as a graduation work there. The course was super cool.
I love lady Maria SO MUCH.

What makes the Orphan of Kos so dangerous is the fact that he is a Great One birthed in the image of a Hunter rather than it's own image: The membranes of his back resemble a Hunter's cape, his placenta resembles the Saw Cleaver, the Beasthunter's saif and the Burial Blade, albeit untransformed. Even though he has tricks of his own (like calling the thunders that Kos sends to help her son), the rest of his fighting style is entirely based on the Hunters: His charged spinning attack is from the Beast Cutter Old Hunter, his projectile he takes from his placenta is how a Hunter fires a weapon, the uppercut he does with the placenta he takes it from Father Gascoigne. And the air attack he does with the placenta takes it from Gehrman.
During phase two, his charged vertical attack, along with his placenta slams, like he is slamming a wheel he takes it from the Executioners of Logarius.
And his way of walk and physical appearance also resembles Gehrman. After all, if you are a deity hungry for revenge against a particular group for massacring your worshippers, why not fashion the weapon in the image of the mightiest and most powerful of all the hunters? And who is the mightiest of all of them? Gehrman.

Disturbing discovery about the fishing hamlet
I made another discovery concerning the fishing hamlet and the "parasite farm" towards the end of the hamlet.
I know the main interpret is that those white slug/squid looking creature (found everywhere across the hamlet) are Kos parasites, but I think it's more complicated than that.
Kos parasites are supposed to be small. Really small.
So, I think those will made more sense.
Also, I know in the concept art they look more like augur/gastropod but in game they really look like baby squid hunter don't you think?
But maybe they are parasites. But then why are they so many? how do they multiply? I might have figure it out 💀 (yes, they could have fish them too but now I really doubt so)
Here's the really short version.
Now to explain I think…. That the "farm" is more of a nursery? Idk what they do with them after. And really, I don't wanna know…💀
I think that the snail ladies, take the giants ammonites shells (that we can found in the caves rocks) and lay eggs in it. Then the fishmen gather the eggs (we can see them scratch the grounds with tools + priests seem to pray to them or smt.
Then the eggs hatch and that make all those little things.
In the end I don't know if they really are parasites and they multiple via they’re host (fishing hamlet villagers) or if after being infected by kos parasites and being to transform & the villagers couldn't have children anymore and try that ?
Also, idk if it's because of the nightmare and it's just at one point in time that are show to us, but the little white squid seems all to be dead? Did they stop growing and dies like the celestial larvae who we don't see older expect in dead statues? (except Ebrietas who's the exception) + there's nothing that seems to indicate the presence of children in the hamlet compared to, Yharnam.
Are they praying to Kos in this goal? That their children might live ? (also Kos look a bit like a giant version of the snail women...)
It is the coast to pay after all… all great ones lose their child…wouldn't it b ethe same for humans becoming kins and trying to ascend?
What do you think…?

Hi Katya, I have a question. There is a lore debate going on about Kos on Twitter. People are saying she died because of the hunters and that’s why she washed up on the shore, but others are saying she was beached. I thought that second thing because of the Kos parasite. But what do you think?
Ah! Sir that's one of my big pet peeves! Actually, the answer to this is much simpler than looking upon Kos Parasite description. It is loredropped by the chanters in Fishing Hamlet, right here!
I used the retranslation document as usual ( x ), and I've noticed this bit is lost because in localisation they say 'mother is dead', not 'mother was killed'! I think this is out of question what really happened... The original script also doesn't mention 'Kos was beckoned' - yet they still ask the "bloodless ones" (maybe 'superior' Great Ones?) to forgive them, as in failing to protect her from the old hunters! Honestly, I do not know why localisation team used 'was beckoned', because it contradicts another thing we know:
Yeah, like you pointed out, the description of the parasite outright confirms she WAS beached! I decipher 'within the corpse' as in... well, the hunters had to open up her body in search for the child - and thus found many parasites inside too.
I talked about the strange thing about this parasite in this theory ( x ), but TLDR; it is very likely connected with Brainsuckers, and as Milkweed (here called Seedbed) suggests, you first have to become Kin with the cosmos to receive TRUE effect of phantasms, INCLUDING Kos Parasite! However, the 'Stars' in lore are connected to the Moon, that does govern Hunters, so what happened to Kos might have been her role to perpetuating the vicious cycle for Moon Presence's amusement. On the other hand, Soulsborne games like to create a vision of being loosely 'connected', and there is a theme of the Sea that once was clean but gone dirty with 'human dregs', so maybe Kos got sick because of THAT - and such parasites merely dwelled in her naturally (since she is connected with Insight too), rather than being the CAUSE of what got her to wash away.
Basically, the reason WHY she was beached is not clear in the slightest. Sick from parasites that lead her to push humanity in another turn, Sea itself being 'ruined', or maybe she just was pregnant and could not give a birth in the sea, or pregnancy MADE her too weak to swim and resist the currents, or maybe she was beached on the shore and got pregnant THERE (mortals and Great Ones apparently CAN mingle and notice how ridiculously humanoid OoK is!). It is all up to interpretation!
You know what IS clear for me though? That the reason she was washed ashore were not the hunters. They just killed her when she was defenceless, very likely destroying Fish people too (since they ask forgiveness for her death, as if they should have protected her), and took her baby. :') Cool expedition everyone, 3 umbilical cords out of 3 👍
#bloodborne#mother kos#fishing hamlet#ask replies#bloodborne theory#bloodborne observation#i didn't know there was such a question though? but now that i look at localised dialogue of chanters?#yeah i can see what caused it...#but tell people on the twitter the second option is basically confirmed at this rate haha

best part in bloodborne was definitely when i killed one of the giant murderfish dudes at the bottom of the shitpit in that quaint little fishing village, only to get fucking powerbombed twelve times in a row by the second, hidden one while all the depressed fishermen watched from above and cheered

The player going through the story chalices mirrors the fishing hamlet massacre. Both are homes to a race of people altered by the great ones, in which they are invaded and massacred by an outside force seeking knowledge and power (Players seeking lore or loot), and end in a pregnant mother being torn from her child (3 third cord and the paperweight Yharnam gives you). Another thing I've noticed is that you could say repeat playthroughs are the player going "Blooddrunk" since, unlike the first playthrough, you're going through with a hitlist of bosses and not getting too involved in the story. (This is different for some people but most people I've seen do repeat playthroughs like this).
