My idea is that he wears a long trench coat but business casual for a shirt and pant combo, but the tie does work wonders. (Maybe in the winter he wears a black and white striped scarf instead?) Maybe combat boots if I really wanna go the fashion disaster uncle route. For his hair, I wanted to show long and messy with some of it in a ponytail.

Background: He’s a French novelist that first traveled to Japan 10 years prior to the story & was an unknowing witness to Death’s escape/birth of the Dark Hour. He returns to Japan since he remembered enjoying a trip there before and thought he could clear his mind from current events in his life.

Personality: Before the story, some say he’s cool and standoff-ish. It’s only through his Social Link that you find out he’s more standoff-ish than usual. Not in an annoyed way, but in a clearly depressed way. Y’see, his mother that he had an estranged relationship passed away and he has no idea if he should grieve or be relieved she’s gone. His childhood was good until his family went into debt, and his mother became distant as a result. Out of that, he’s got a very dry sense of humor that makes him surprisingly hilarious. Fortunately he’s learned not to make depressing jokes, but they sometimes slip by

Relevance in Story That Aren’t Necessarily Changes in the Narrative but Y’Know: In the Internet cafe where you can buy Internet tips, you can also run into him and start the Hermit SL there. Think he’s free Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays in the evenings. During outings with Theo, he can actually see the other and become amused by the naivety Theo has.

And story spoilers time!

He’s also a reluctant second in command for Ikut//suki prior to the plot twist reveal due to his potential & age. The school hires him as a janitor to keep an eye on S E E S at first, but I think he’d make it up to school staff/TA (despite being 32…). After Ikut//suki’s betrayal, he steps up to be the S E E S dorm counselor. I think he starts to get out of his depressive state after Shin//ji’s death because of the anger he felt in having a child die under his watch. But his Ultimate awakening is stepping up after Ikut//suki’s betrayal.

i've been nonstop every night for the last week reading 'reborn as a villainess' stories. so you could say i'm into it. it may have taken over my life a bit - i kinda wish it was more of a thing in the fic spaces i'm in! i like 'OC/Self-Insert dropped into the world' a lot but i think it would be very fun to do this 'ooooooh what if fate has already doomed me' that all of these stories explore

i don't usually keep them! i know it's something a lot of people do, and i'm sure i have a few in a paper notebook somewhere, but if something in a fic isn't working i just say goodbye and delete it

22. do you ever worry about public reaction to what you’re writing? how do you get past that?

oh constantly. not in a 'will this be popular' way (i write my own ideas and i never think they're going to gain a lot of traction, since i tend to write for things that are a few years old/have really established Big Fics already) but i do have that little voice in my head that says 'if you get one single detail wrong... someone will comment about it and you will Die.' but that has happened before - the one that comes to mind is d20 fans talking about me mixing up the names of the side schools - and guess what? i did not die. the more old and established something is, the less afraid of this i actually am (star wars is old enough that so much stupid shit has happened in it who cares if i let them use paper. i'm not taking your fucking star wars vocab quiz i'm writing about these people wanting to fuck so bad it makes the galaxy look stupid) but in the past it has lead to me talking myself out of writing things, which is pretty sad!

i just try to remind myself that this is For Fun, and that i have never actually been exploded for getting details wrong in a fanfiction that, again, i do for free in my spare time that maybe forty people will read. it's a mixed bag.

you may think i'm going to talk about small jobs for the millionth time because it is my beloved my shining star my castle in the air but in this case! i would like to give a little extra love to and stand by with the champagne which is. undeniably. about barbie princess and the pauper. it's fun!! it was UNBELIEVABLY fun to write. it's silly and a little bit emotional and references the songs of a movie i played until the vhs wore out, i wrote it on a whim last summer, and i hold it in my heart <3

1) Do your characters have any hobbies that may or may not be illegal?

Lydia has been known to get up to some light shenanigans. She may have broken into someone's house once. (Lydia: "They had it coming.") Also, the squad in the Creep Club almost got arrested during a paranormal investigation once. Rowan insists it was all a misunderstanding, but the rest of the squad still gives her shit about "breaking and entering" every time they do an overnight somewhere that's closed.

3) How old is your oldest OC in terms of creation date?

That would be Sasha! She's a character I created in middle school, and is one of the first OCs I tried writing a novel about. (I'd tried writing books before that, but they mostly had self-inserts as MCs, LOL.) From what I remember, she was an Etherial Psychic Waif prone to fainting from her visions of ghosts/the future/whatever I thought was coolest at that moment, and she had no personality to speak of because I still wasn't sure how to write those yet. She's gone through a bunch of different plots over the years. In her current itineration, she's a studious type who just wants to get into a good college and is not here for the weird, probably-magic dreams she keeps having, and is even less here for the hot butch girl who resembles the woman in said dreams moving in next door. But the plot of that one's still pretty unformed. I just still think magic dreams are neat, even all these years later :P

5) Which of your wips would you say is your favourite and why?

Oh, gosh, I love all of them and wouldn't call any my favorite! But I'm going to start drafting Creep Club next month and I'm pretty excited about it! It's basically a love letter to the spooky stories I grew up reading — so, like a cross between R.L. Stine/Christopher Pike fair and old-school creepypasta, LOL. It's campy and fun and doesn't take itself too seriously, which is nice because the other horror wips I have in the think tank are, um... dark.

Cursed technique: I’ll be honest I don’t feel like researching cursed techniques again. For now I’ll just throw cool ideas at the wall and see what sticks. Basic is that her powers are based on playing cards. Numbers show how strong the attack will be (with it scaling from low ace to king), and each suit has a different effect. The effects might change the recipient based on its color, too. So if she draws a red 9 of spades, that means she gets a 9 time power boost.

Domain is Russian Roulette where there’s 6 chances to do an insta-kill, but one could easily kill her instead.

Background: Originally I had her be Na//na//mi’s coworker in a different department that provided him small stuff like beverages, snacks, or blankets when he worked at his old job. But now I want her to be cooler than that. Let’s make her a bartender that he and the other teachers visit after work. Might be called Suits?

Personality: She’s really just cool personified. Easy-going, wise beyond her years, smoked 10 cigarettes for breakfast when she went to college, hates working but does it anyway, etc.

Changes I’ve Made to Canon: *takes Ge//ge’s characters and runs* “AT LEAST USE THEM, ASSHOLE!” So yeah for canon, she originally worked under Na//na//mi’s office. She could also potentially be an assistant for Hir//omi but eh. Depends. Not sure if I want to put her in Shib//uya onward.

Buuuut if I could I’m taking the characters into an AU that’s basically Bartender or Cheers. Maybe Dea//th Parade if I feel inspired enough to work in the cursed techniques.

1) How many complete fics/one shots do you have that you have not published (yet)?

Not counting the last chapter of Broken Road that’s going up on Thursday? 2. A Marcus Moreno one-shot and a new installment of the Together Series featuring FishBen and reader that @absurdthirst and I JUST finished.

2) How many WIPS do you have right now?

Oh god. Five? My writing partners should slaughter me for what I put them through.

3) Do you take writing requests or write original ideas, or both?

I have taken requests/suggestions in the past, but I can’t always guarantee results. Sometimes they just don’t vibe or it takes *ages* for them to come to fruition.

4) If you do take requests, how many do you currently have?

I am not currently taking requests.

5) How many fandoms do you write for?

Everything that I post here has been Pedro-Pascal centric, but some stories have included adjacent characters or cross-overs.

6) Are there any fandoms you wrote for in the past that you no longer write for?

Someday I will write for Dragon Age again. I WILL.

7) Do you write for ships, reader inserts or other?

Mostly reader inserts these days, for no reason other than it’s what is jumping around in my head. I do love original side characters to flesh out multichapter stories, though.

@steeevienicks And I have kicked around a Buffyverse story with  Jay Castillo, Eddie, Max Phillips, and Dio all featured. I think that’s about the most niche one can get in this fandom. 🤣

9) Do you read fics as well as write them?

Oh my god yes. I spent all day today reading and discovering some new writers. 

10) What is your favorite genre to write for?

I mean - I guess it’s fair to say romance. Although I am JONESING to write some historical fiction sometime soon.

11) What is your favorite trope (to read/write)?

I dare you to find a single thing I’ve written that doesn’t contain a found family.

12) What do you do to get motivated to write?

I make inspo playlists on my Spotify for pretty much everything, and I tend to watch the film or series that I’m writing from to try to keep tone and characterization. But, like many before me, shower thoughts are the best thoughts I’ll have all day.

13) Is there a trope/genre you like to read, but not write?

I really love mysteries and things with action, thought I have trouble writing them. 

14) Any characters/fandoms you want to write for that are never requested?

Not that I can think of? I have some of my own ideas that I never seen to get to but that’s a totally separate issue.

15) How long have you been writing fan fiction?

Oh gosh. I think my very first fanfic was LotR stories back in 2001-2002?

16) Did you read fan fiction before you started writing?

Actually, no! I started writing it as a freshman in high school and only afterward did some of my friends clue me in to fanfic as a genre. I thought I was just a total weirdo writing my little Frodo’s niece OC stories.

17) Do you only post on Tumblr, or any other sites as well?

I also post to AO3. (wardenparker there, as well)

18) What do you personally consider the word counts of "Drabble", "One shots" and "fics"?

To me, a drabble is a piece of a scene - a one shot is anything self-contained in one post - and “fic” doesn’t have a designated length in my mind.

19) Which do you prefer to write more? HC, drabbles, oneshots/fics, multi chapter stories, other?

I like to read it all, but I really prefer to write multichapter stories. I just always want my characters to find their happy endings, and the journey is part of the fun.

20) Are there any stories you have discontinued? If so, why?

My very first Marcus Pike story is currently on indefinite hiatus for personal reasons. I do intend to finish it, though.

21) What is one of your main "pet-peeves" as a writer on Tumblr?

Posts without approximate word counts. I want to know if I should make a cup of tea and snuggle in first!

And for real, stop with the gd anon hate (B, you’re on point with this one). There’s too much going on in the world to waste energy grappling with strangers for absolutely no reason. Save your energy and just don’t.

22) Do you write a particular time of day?

Anytime the inspiration strikes! But I’m a night owl, so I do tend to clack away at my keyboard until all hours. Sometimes I pull all-nighters if I can manage it on days off from work.

23) Do you listen to music, ambiance/noise, etc to write or do you need silence?

100% must always have noise. I can’t exist in silence ever.

24) Do you outline your fics at all before writing?

🤣🤣🤣 Outline? No. We die like chaos warriors, improving on the page.

25) Do you post your writing as soon as you finish it, or do you schedule it to come out at a specific time/day?

I like my twice a week post schedule! Soulmate Sundays are the best ever start to the week, and I love spacing out my second post for a few days later so I give myself time to decompress and edit.

3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.

I definitely prefer to write reader inserts because it's what I prefer to read, BUT the fic I wrote back in the day were all OC's. I like writing reader inserts because I feel like they're easier to make self-indulgent tbh but I'm considering making the switch to OC's bc I love fleshing out a character and building it from scratch .

7) When is your preferred time to write?

I wish I could say it was something productive like in the morning or on my lunch break but honestly? I feel like I am the most productive from like 12am-5am. I've written a large portion of my fics late at night like that.

12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?

Oh that should be obvious, but my favorite character is most definitely Frankie Morales. I wish that my why was something more poignant than I'm in love with him but I mean... it is what it is. He's also a little bit more of a blank template and we can kind of mold him into our dream man. I feel the same way about Marcus Pike, but Frankie is my main. Every fic idea that enters my brain is Frankie first, but then I ultimately decide to write it for someone else lol

doing this whole OC meme thing for me mostly, very likely not interesting to anyone else (because I’m not really explaining who any of these guys are and I don’t expect anyone to know all of them, also its formatted badly and i didn’t edit it well) so i’m putting it under a cut

The oldest OC I still bring back occasionally is Bluebell, who is an alien creature I invented in 6th grade. She used to be named Hana, because I was taking Japanese lessons and was in that phase of elementary school where you think that naming your characters after a word in another language is always the best and coolest idea

The newest OC I have that’s like, a main character is I guess Viarnne, but my newest OC that’s not a fan character is Slice the rainbow layer cake dragon

I can’t pick a favorite OC very easily- I love Pike and Tu personality-wise a whole lot out of my Dialien characters, and I think Viarnne is my favorite Neopet right now. OH also i love my old character Alkaline

picking a favorite OC design is even harder- of my neopets, Alxxa has the coolest design I think, both to draw and as far as general appearance goes. For all original characters, my favorite for a long time was the character I made whose design was... literally adapted from Alxxa but not a Neopet. I think I called it Tiramisu?? its been a while since I’ve actually drawn Tiramisu

My main reason for making OCs is sort of different for different types of characters- I think part of it is that I legitimately want to tell stories, but the biggest thing IS that I just find character design fun, in particular designing and drawing creatures.

Uhh it’s different for different characters but it usually involves finding something fun to draw and then drawing it a bunch, to see if it stays fun, or if I can keep it fun. If I don’t have fun drawing a character, they tend to sort of fall away- like, you don’t see me drawing Jukebawks often, even though I had fun coming up with a design, because she’s... hard to draw, and doesn’t have as much range of expression as a lot of my other characters. (plus I don’t have a personality for her- if I have a backstory I’m really invested in for a character, I can basically draw very similar pictures of them over and over again and have fun because I like their story so much, which is probably a bit of a flaw)

I don’t really ship my OCs with anyone else’s- I’ve never even really shipped my OCs with like, canon characters from anything? I’m not necessarily opposed to the idea of shipping my characters with someone else’s, but I’m not very good at communication or roleplaying, and a lot of my characters aren’t really what I would call ‘shippable’, so it tends to be easier to just work by myself on that kind of thing.

uhhh i have a couple ocs who I ship but i’m really self conscious about doing so, so i talk about most of them almost never. I ship Sam and Viarnne but I want to actually have a story where it makes sense for them to end up forming a relationship like that, so for now i’m mostly focusing on how their friendship will work (also, just like, assume none of my OCs are fucking I guess?? even the ones i ship together- that’s one of those things that’s just never really been interesting to me, and i mostly just don’t want to deal with jokes about it because like, please?? i like relationship stuff but i just don’t get anything out of sex stuff, jokes or otherwise, most of the time. also please don’t take this as a moral judgement if that’s something you do, i don’t care as long as its not like, something morally reprehensible, you do you). oh i also have Alxxa and Sensurround (neopets), Zotyre and Gyronaut (neopets), Alkaline and Skurl (original story), uhhh kind of not sure if Tu and Iris are gonna end up having a romantic relationship in my Dialien story, i need to do more thinking

weirdest... oc... uhhhhh i’m not sure what that would entail, exactly. my fursona might be the weirdest just from like, not having any sort of world or story or anything, she just floats in space and picks up space radio signals and stuff

I don’t really have enough villain ocs- I guess at this point, Chexerton is kind of a villain, he’s like a shitty space security guard for Virtupets. most of my completely original stories don’t have villains- Dialiens (it needs a better name- maybe just Dial) is more about mental health struggles and potentially capitalism or colonialism, and with LOSER (a story i think i have barely ever talked about on here, its the one with Skurl and Alkaline) i straight up can’t decide whether its a fun road trip where character flaws are explored and then like, amends are made, or if it ultimately ends with the characters not overcoming their flaws and destroying each other. its kind of been both in my mind for a long time which is why i can’t write it- can’t decide whether the relationship should be ultimately healthy or toxic

This is a tough question- I don’t think of my OCs as real people, exactly, that I could be mean to or ‘torture, muahaha i love seeing my babies suffer’- but they’re deeply personal to me, and I don’t think its always useful to see them as constructs unworthy of being treated with kindness. I guess what I would consider being ‘nice’ to my OCs is trying to realize them better and have them make sense and function properly in whatever stories I’m trying to tell using them. In that regard, I guess there’s some I theoretically ‘neglect’ by not really focusing on them very often, or by getting tired of their stories but never officially ‘getting rid’ of them?? Plus I don’t have time to develop literally every character I’ve ever had. I have all kinds of old OCs that i’m not planning to do anything with anymore, but they meant something to me at some point, and its not like they’re going to pile up and take up space in my house if I don’t, like, sell them. I like knowing that if I ever need to look back at my old stuff for ideas, there’s a bunch of stuff I might be able to use or repurpose again someday.

Again, I don’t really think about it as ‘killed’. I guess I don’t have the main character from Skurl’s original story anymore, who was like a mammalian Invader Zim-esque fantasy evil fortress knight?? and Skurl was the funny animal curmudgeon sidekick. I made that protagonist up because the story needed a protagonist, and he never even really had a personality to speak of- his rival was better defined, the mad scientist from the idea had a more interesting character design- basically every other character from that story I might bring back, but that protagonist is probably gone for good. Maybe I’ll bring back his weird ear decorations that smushed his fabric-y rabbit ears down, those were kind of the most interesting thing he had going on. OH if you mean literally killed off in a story, in the nightmare angst version of LOSER Skurl ends up like, not DEAD exactly, but severely fucked up to the point where he’d be better off dead. And Viarnne is technically dead

Oh man years ago I had an OC named O-BR who was a robotic panda bear toy who was possessed by the soul of some dude who died who was a father, and now is kind of the robotic parental figure of the child who owns the bear toy. i don’t think that actually works well as a story- i never even figured out what that dude’s name was, just the name of the bear. it’s name was O-BR because its ears were like, floating purple plastic cheerio shapes that hovered next to his head. this was another ‘i’m obsessed with invader zim’ era character

80% of my Neopet OCs at any given time- also 80% of my non fandom based OCs at any given time. I don’t have time to come up with stories for all of them, and I tend to just focus on whatever is interesting enough that I remember it

I hate drawing Jukebawks... i’m sorry jukebawks........ maybe i should like, offer her up for trade, but i’m not sure anyone else would want her?? i like the idea of her!! i should actually probably design her to be easier for me to draw, in all honesty. When it comes to writing though, Moe has given me so much grief because I honest to god don’t know how he fits into the story and group dynamic in Dialiens. He’s like, kind of an asshole loner who keeps to himself and doesn’t want people to bother him?? i’m not even confident he uses ‘he’ pronouns. i don’t know

this feels like its more designed for people who have more humanoid ocs where they’re heights are more, like, similar, so being short or tall is a thing?? like, for Neopets, Alxxa’s the tallest because he’s really long, and Viarnne is the shortest because he’s an oval that’s like a foot tall. as far as the only character heights that I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about, the Dialiens, tallest to shortest, are: Pike, Moe (not counting the ears), Iris, Chives, Tu

I guess my oldest ocs are Zotyre, Gyronaut, and that mutant Moehog lady- youngest would be Chilston, i guess. and as far as OCs, i have no idea, i don’t think enough about age. approaching characters from the angle that they’re Cartoons!!!! and then deciding to try and give them nuance later means that everyone’s just sort of nebulously adult-ish

Do I dislike any of my OCs, like, as characters, or as people? I think Pike, despite being one of my favorite OCs, would irritate me quite a bit in real life, because his personality is heavily influenced by traits that annoyed me about other people I’ve met, but like, trying to see them more sympathetically?? but he’d get on my nerves. Iris fits this a lot too- I don’t think I’d like Moe much either?? i dunno its a weird question, i like them because they’re my characters and also because they’re not real. i don’t think most of them would be friends with me or anything if they were real, even if so many of them are based on parts of me

oh i’ve made self inserts- i definitely had a self insert Invader Zim character that i drew maybe a single time, and then pretended to be in daydreams in my head while bored during school. she had an angsty backstory. then after that i pretended to be Trigger in my daydream stories all the time in school for like, 3 years (like, during points in time where i was zoning out during class, or walking between classes)

uhhhhh I regret not doing more with these characters, and i regret that i can’t answer a lot of important questions about characters I’ve had for years Now. i’ve had them for years, so they feel really definitive and rock solid in my mind, so they’re hard to change, but also they’re really not as nuanced as i want them to be. its a bit tough

well someone in freshman year of college who i ended up cutting ties with because of some kind of wild friend group drama and like, important political and philosophical differences, actually knew me from deviantart and remembered one of my OCs. that was pretty wild. that’s one person though... uhhh, are any of my OCs popular?? I’m just excited when anyone finds a character i’ve come up with interesting. I’m glad other people seem to like Viarnne!!! it fills me with terror that i’ll like, ruin him by writing a bad story, but its also exciting and validating to come up with a character story and for other people to also enjoy it

uhhh its Viarnne again. i drew him to try and demonstrate how a robot Kiko could be an appealing character design and it backfired on me. i love drawing Orb with a Face and Arms and i am happy when i see him as my active pet on neopets. I guess Pike also qualifies- when I initially drew the Dialiens, I had very vague personality ideas for them, and I felt like he would be the bully. he has since become very much NOT the bully (like, he seems more like a person who would get bullied) and I’ve grown really fond of him. also i created Trigger to be a Chuck E Cheese style mascot back before fucking Five Nights At Freddy’s existed and destroyed that that as an original idea (fuck you FNAF i have two characters now who are basically... that and you can’t ruin that for me. i was here FIRST (this is a joke its not even that great of a premise, my shit isn’t horror, and i’ll deal)). he was also based on a glow in the dark grey alien and a skeleton and lived in an abandoned pizza entertainment building and was basically an evil villain, and then high school me decided that instead of being that he was gonna be a mutated teenager and it was going to be really angsty. I don’t really have as much interest in that backstory anymore??? but I sure had a lot of fun with it for like 4 years so i think that counts

he used to be a self insert made for the purpose of selfshipping with axel (pike was created alongside him at the same time as a fun enderman friend), and my friend fluff also selfshipped with aiden and made a self insert for that named dib (later cosmo)

we started a roleplay which then developed a plot, and as the plot progressed and fluff and i developed it, creek and dib became more like ocs than self inserts. fluff eventually lost interest in mcsm but i kept going with misfit mania, and after some time they gave me ownership of dib (who i then redesigned as per fluffs request, since cosmo pre redesign still looked a lot like fluffs sona at the time), ryssel, and blitz

most of the season one plot was made by both me and fluff, although since i now “run the show” i have made a few tweaks, and season 2 is completely different than it used to be ! i dont think season 3 had a plot at that point but me and fluff had already made the characters (just ryssel and auburn at the time i think. i dont believe micah or alora or shiloh existed yet) for it, i think just for fun at the time

Ramble post about autistic ocs

So I’ve been totally avoiding figuring out if sad plant girl is autistic because, like, I don’t want her to be a straight-up self-insert character, but also the more I think about it the more it just fits. Like her fixation with plants, her inability to socialize, and also the game is structured in such a way where I don’t think she gets any spoken dialogue and, like, hey, maybe she really is largely nonverbal.

It feels fitting but im still not sold on canonizing it yet orz WE’LL SEE.

Also, I’ve been thinking about Aster a lot lately and it just suddenly occurred to me the other day like “Oh... you know what she’s probably autistic.”

WHICH IS MAYBE NOT THE BEST REPRESENTATION... Aster is problematically blunt and destructive and basically the villain of the story’s first arc, but really they figure out she’s trying to enact a good thing, but by going about it in a completely insensitive and detached manner. So, like, SHE’S REALLY BAD but also gets a redemption arc so I’M JUST GONNA LET HER BE AUTISTIC IN PEACE...

She has a disinterest in social cues, has trouble processing + identifying her emotions, she contorts her hands and body a lot, and has some kind of a sensory thing with her clothes i think. I haven’t been able to picture her being okay in anything that doesn’t cling to her. Like the tactile presence of soft semi-stretch cloth soothes her. I think there were a few other reasons i came to this conclusion (like refusal to commit to upkeep with her hair?) but anyway, that’s the conclusion i’ve come to and i appreciate having her in my autistic roster.

Now is Ellipsis also autistic... LESS LIKELY but i’ll be mulling over that ahahaha

Also, while we’re here, casual reminder that Oz is autistic (MAYBE ALSO PIKE... but i need to think more still about that ack) and also all of the witchlets are autistic as heck. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
