I'm struggling to put pieces together regarding this information so I decided I would just post what I had. Every time we see Aya's father in her memories he is either telling her she is a failure and/or that she should be a perfect

we also know he is a drunk

as well as the fact that he physically hurts

There is no way Aya shows up out of no where. In my opinion , she must serve a purpose in the final battle later between the Agency and the Hunting Dogs. I am looking forward to see her, and potentially her father (who is also a well-known author in Japanese literature) in the upcoming story.

(Tbh I think it’s planned long time ago, or else Asagiri wouldn’t have named her the daughter of Koda Rohan.)

with aya showing up in the vampire infection outbreak arc i started thinking about why asagiri would bring her back into the plot unless she was relevant. so i did some research and found that irl aya koda and her father rohan koda were both japanese authors. her father isnt really mentioned in canon but bringing in his less famous daughter might imply he is going to show up. as all the characters based on real life authors have abilities (excluding higuchi) i think that she and her father will also have abilities. aya koda first appeared in chapter 40 and the reveal of her last name in the ova from august 2017 was potentially setting up a future arc(s) over 4 years ago.
