This is one of those episodes that isn't itself overly sad or hard, but it feels sad and hard when you know where Atlantis and the team are headed. When you know that when Elizabeth says she might have to resign in protest to not being listened too, she doesn't know how short a time she has on Atlantis.

It's hard in the first half because Atlantis is fractured between the military and the civilians. This is hard because on Atlantis, they've all been working together, and now they disagree, and they're not listening to each other.

But! I love that things click for Sheppard when he's telling Ronon and Teyla about the Fantastic Four, that they're a team and they'll figure it out. At that moment, he goes to find Rodney and the immediately figure it out. Atlantis needs both the military and the civilian team members but they have to work together.

I love Ellis because he grows. He starts out a bit pig-headed, but honestly I get that. He was given a mission, not given wiggle room. But I love that he comes back an apologizes and humbles himself to make things right with Elizabeth.

I love Rodney reminding Ellis it's not his call. I love Sheppard-could-have-been-in-Mensa figuring it out. And for some reason, I love Sheppard's face when he's concentrating on flying Atlantis. He seems calm but determined and focused.

Then of course the whole thing ends with disaster.

Oh, and Lorne! I watched an SG-1 episode the other day from Season 10 and it also had Lorne in it! So nice to see him.

On the one hand, drawing Winter's hair is frustrating because there is no rhyme or reason to it, but on the other hand, drawing Winter's hair is so much fun because there is no rhyme or reason to it.

As much as Rodney McKay's general bullying, whining, frequent sexual harassment, and insistence on being the main character at all times infuriate the hell out of me, his unrelenting loyalty to Dr. Weir goes a hell of a long way towards redeeming him. In an episode where she is being so frequently dismissed and undermined, hearing McKay laugh off an order from Colonel Ellis, say "I don't think that's really your decision", and turn to Elizabeth for her assessment is positively heartwarming.

If I have a Kwende, Pride of Femeref in my graveyard and hit someone with Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir's first strike, reanimating Kwende, will Jabari deal damage again this combat?

Yes, he will.

When there are two combat damage steps in combat because of a creature with first strike or double strike attacking or blocking, they act as completely separate steps with triggers resolving and players able to cast spells and activate abilities between them.

In the second combat damage step, the only creatures to assign and deal combat damage are creatures with double strike and creatures that either didn't already assign combat damage in the first combat damage step.

Since Sidar has double strike at that time, he will assign and deal combat damage just fine in that second combat damage step.

Where her groin would be there's a pink arrow angular piece of metal (codpiece? idk if that's right?) She has a white boxy waist with a piece jutting out that include some grey ridged cylinder in the front, and a boxy pink chest attached with no breasts. She has spherical pink shoulders with white upper arms and pink forearms with white hands attached. On her back is an almost triangular set of wings? possibly? (they don't look very winged but that's the closest comparison that sit vertically aligned to her back. Her head is white with a dorky lookin white helmet/maybe hair?

She is mid leap into the air shooting lasers from her blaster [right hand] at a deep blue and black robot with red eyes and a bigger, chunkier blaster. In her left hand she's holding what appears to be a smoking energy sword. In the background there's a modern brown building with some tinted looking windows and lots of pink laser fire around. Next to the brown building There's a murky green building with tinted blue windows with a white border on each. In some parts of the background you can see smoke likely caused by the laser fire.

She is a White and Red Legendary Artifact Creature that cost 1 uncolored mana, 1 White mana, and 1 Red mana. Her subtype is Robot and she is a mythic rare.

In front of the driver's and passenger seats there's a window to offer some protection from the elements. On the very tip of the car there's a small, dark grey vent possibly for decoration. The doors of the car are dark grey and the wheels are black. This car is, once again, leaping high into the air above the road. Below it you can see a yellow pickup truck parked on the side of the road. Opposite to the truck there is a light grey sidewalk, and two buildings. I’m surprised more people don’t ship these two because John’s crush on Linda is incredibly poorly disguised.

And the scene where Fred touches the symbols on the wall and it lights up the corridor/room is very similar to the show when John first finds the artifact in the cave. Not a 1:1 equivalent by any means but hard to believe the show didn’t take some inspiration.

Stargate-Atlantis S3: E20 First Strike

A plan to do a first strike on the Replicators has Sheppard and Weir at odds, and McKay is worried. The plan fails, and I think Sheppard feels like he should have backed Elizabeth, that this is his fault.

Yep, he says that he thinks this new attack on Atlantis is his/the military's responsibility. I don't fault Sheppard. He thought this was the right thing to do.

Ellis tells Sheppard he should be running Atlantis and that they did the right thing. (Which is interesting because Sheppard does end up in charge when Elizabeth is injured.) Sheppard is following Ellis around, and Elizabeth feels betrayed. I feel a bit betrayed. Ugh! The family is all breaking up. Elizabeth and Teyla are on one side. Ellis has Sheppard and Ronon with him. McKay is kinda in the middle but leaning towards Elizabeth. (Get back together, everyone!)

Then you have Sheppard bring up the Fantastic Four. Smart man is trying to bring some unity back and rembering who his friends are, that they're the team. Then he goes and checks on McKay and has a better idea than McKay and Radek. Sheppard is working to fix what he broke, taking responsibility.

And now he's back with McKay and Elizabeth! And just when we think Sheppard has saved the day, Elizabeth and Ronon get badly hurt, and Atlantis is in danger again.

Sheppard is never going to forgive himself for siding with Ellis instead of Elizabeth. This all will always be his fault.

Film Fast Review #045 :

(BluRay Version mit Hongkong Langfassung und DTS HD Master 5.1 Tonspur)

Story: Supercop Jackie tritt die lange Reise von Hongkong in die Ukraine an, um dort eine wichtige Kontaktfrau zu treffen. Kaum angekommen, sieht er sich einer gefährlichen Verschwörung gegenüber: Eine Hand voll perfekt organisierter Terroristen hat einen nuklearen Sprengstoff gestohlen und plant Erpressung im großen Stil. Diese Rechnung haben sie ohne Kampfsport-Ass Jackie gemacht. Doch seine Gegner sind gefährlich und schwer bewaffnet.

MakeUp / CGI / Computereffekte: Das MakeUp ist für diesen Jackie Chan Film ebenfalls reichhaltig, denn es geht von Schrammen, Kratzern und Veilchen über dreckige und nasse Gesichter, Dreck bis hin zu Schnitt-, Schuss- und Schlagwunden jeglicher Art, das immer authentisch aussieht. CGI / Computereffekte gibt es keine, alle Actionszenen sind auch hier komplett handgemacht.

Bild: Das Bild weist auch hier eine Restaurierung auf und wirkt fast glasklar. Nur die wieder hinzugefügten Szenen (die hier unfassbar massiv sind) sind leicht körnig, wirken aber nie unscharf oder dreckig. Insgesamt haben wir hier ein sehr gutes Bild, es wurde das beste aus dem 1996er Film herausgeholt.

Musik / Soundeffekte: In der Kinofassung ist der Sound bei Actionszenen auch hier sehr laut und wirkt digital nachbearbeitet. In der Langfassung ist die Tonspur ebenfalls wie bei Mr. Nice Guy gleichbleibend, und wirkt bei Choreographie Szenen besser, da diese auch hier leicht mono, aber dafür basslastiger klingen. Beide Versionen sind aber von der Gesamtheit ebenfalls sehr gut umgesetzt.

Fazit: FIRST STRIKE ist einer der Top 5 Filme von Jackie Chan, der jetzt nach 29 Jahren (!!!!!) endlich einmal in Deutschland offiziell so veröffentlicht wurde, wie er es verdient hat. Es ist einfach unglaublich, wie dieser Film damals 1996 für den europäischen Markt zerstückelt wurde, denn es fehlten bisher immer unglaubliche 23 Minuten (!!!!) an Story und Action. Die Story wirkt mit der Langfassung viel runder, die Action- und Choreographieszenen viel abgeschlossener, der Ton ist grandios.....was will man mehr ?? Diese Veröffentlichung ist jeden Cent wert und gehört hiermit in jede gut sortierte Filmsammlung, denn hier sieht man Jackie Chan in absoluter Bestform.
