@sharpsuite : Chishiya lingers in the doorway for a moment, feeling exhaustion numb his body. At least, he likes to BLAME the exhaustion as the reason. He takes a moment more to assess the situation, despite the fact there's no threat that warrants such strict observation. (Except it's vulnerable. What he wants requires vulnerability.) Finally Chishiya pushes off the frame and walks over to the couch to plop down beside Pat. Rather than stop at that, he falls onto his side so his head falls onto her lap and he closes his eyes. Hides, in a sense. They've never talked about the soft moments outside of when they happened. Never asked for more. Chishiya forces down the tremble in his confidence with his usual subtle smile. "Mm, nice as I recall. Better circumstances. " He murmurs with a half joking, half sincere tone.
Tumblr media
she doesn't pay much attention when he approaches. sharing a space has become familiar, just a part of their routine. instead her eyes are focused on the book she reads over the armrest of the couch. reading glasses rest over the bridge of her nose; when did she start wearing them rather than straining her vision or relying on contacts all the time? it's still a rare sight, but along with the natural curly hair, the lack of makeup, the hoodie that she had snatched from chishiya's closet, one thing is clear: she feels more at ease here than she has felt in a long time, maybe ever.
she finally takes note of him when he moves beside her, flops down similar to the way chiaki does sometimes. his head rests upon her lap, and the surprise must be obvious in her expression ━━ the kind of face cartoon characters make right when an exclamation point shows up above their heads. the book closes without a mark, but she doesn't mind it, she'll find the page later. the weight of his head feels so familiar, yet so different than it was the last time this happened, safer.
Tumblr media
" i was wondering when you'd do that again, " she admits. her face softens into a smile, and her fingers find their way through his hair almost instantly, without him having to ask. " are you okay? " for a moment she's serious again, wondering if the sudden urge for affection comes from some kind of distress, or just because.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban / The Great Ace Attorney Takarazuka musical notes/review!
As a Sherlock Holmes, DGS and Takarazuka musical enthusiast, this post has been my CALLING. Please prepare for massive info dumping as we dive into this wonderful and amazing musical!! (I cannot stop thinking about it 😊)
Firstly, the cast, costumes and staging are wonderful! Mainly, I was just really excited to see one of my favourite found families on stage haha (most of this post is just going to be me saying how amazing it was). In particular I loved Holmes and Soseki-- but it's so hard to say something like that when I loved everyone in the cast.
Tumblr media
Chiaki Takato's performance in particular, however-- they clearly wanted Holmes to be the star and she absolutely SERVED. I LOVED getting to see Holmes be free and wild and chaotic on the stage as he was meant to!! While this is conveyed well in the games, it just comes out so much stronger on a stage. An extra layer of this that I love, is the fact that ACD Holmes and DGS Holmes both love to show off and have theatre-kid vibes, so it just feels so fitting for DGS Holmes to be in a musical. Takato also did an amazing job replicating the poses/images from the games, which is something I also appreciate that the entire cast does (such as Susato's cheering pose and Soseki's crying pose).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The the songs are super memorable, in particular I loved the Asouryuu one (sorry, I don't have the names for all of them yet), the one Holmes sings in jail, as well as the one in Act 2 that included the whole cast (with Ryuunosuke and Susato singing together). Another touch I loved, was how Asougi and Iris's songs were based off their themes from the games!
Some little touches I liked? I enjoy how Susato copies some of Holmes's poses, which she doesn't do in the games. She is supposed to be a yamato nadeshiko, or the perfect Japanese woman, so that she never really goes outside of this ideal. But she clearly has the capacity to be silly and has 'imperfections', such as her proprensity to throw people around and her fangirling over Holmes-- I love that this was taken a little further in Takarazuka's interpretation. ^_^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Small, but I liked that Iris's mug in Act 2 had some official DGS art on it.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed the references to the Sherlock Holmes canon! Before Holmes's second musical number, he says "Hunger makes me think faster!" (reference to how Holmes believes digestion takes blood away from his brain). Additionally, he replaces his cell with a wax dummy of himself, a reference to The Empty House (or Mazarin Stone). I believe neither of these were mentioned in the games, which means Takarazuka really did their homework on the original canon to bring in those lines. Although, I'm also not surprised, as they have already done a Sherlock Holmes musical before.
Also loved to see the random Maya character-- probably an ancestor of hers haha
Tumblr media
I wasn't a huge fan of the RyuuSusa agenda they had going on, and reminded me too much of Leona from the first Takarazuka musical (more on that later). It felt too much like they forced a romantic element because it's popular with viewers. Not to mention, Susato is 16 and Ryuunosuke is 23. Overall though, it wasn't too bad, and the AsouRyuu segments were equally gay and enjoyable to watch, haha.
Tumblr media
My favourite aspect! I adored that they included Yomigaeru Shinjitsu, the main theme of their first Ace Attorney musical in 2009! I wasn't expecting to see it, as DGS is a spin-off, but I tell you I was so excited to belt the words to that one again. Additionally I LOVED the reprisals, how they mixed in Yomigaeru Shinjitsu with the AsouRyuu song, and Ryuunosuke copying Phoenix's "FUH!" right at the end 🥰-- Gave me goosebumps. I made an edit of it, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, yeah! I think that's about it. Thanks for reading my ramblings ❤

Bungo Stray Dogs Anime Stellar Radio Interview - 09/26/2023
Sharing some points from the Anime Stellar Radio Interview with Kadokawa Producer Kurakane Chiaki.
Tumblr media
"Asagiri supervises everything."
Kurakane shares that sensei always comes to the anime script meetings and has never missed any, despite his busy schedule.
How Kadokawa met BSD
Kurakane's first encounter with BSD was when she saw it on the cover of Young Ace. The person next to her in the office brought the magazine and she just happened to see it. She was amazed and drawn to Harukawa's character design- its beauty and originality captivated her.
About the Character Design
In BSD, the "silhoutte" of a character is very important and distinctive- even if the drawing is just all black you can tell who the character is. When they selected the main illustrator for the anime, they had animators from Bones submit their pieces anonymously. The one whose silhoutte resembled Harukawa's the most turned out to be Nobuhiro Arai (current Character Designer and Chief Animation Director).
On Atsushi as a Character
The appeal of Atsushi as a character can be seen right from the first scene. Despite thinking that he would have to steal in order to live, upon seeing someone "drowning" in the river, he still chose to save them. He could not go against his good-natured heart and character.
Dazai's Treatment to Atsushi and Akutagawa
Regarding the difference in the treatment of Dazai to Atsushi and Akutagawa, Kurakane thinks that Dazai acts like that because he believes that that is the most effective and appropriate way for each of them. Well we don't really know what Dazai is thinking, and we may not agree with his ways especially with Akutagawa, but in the end it does make Akutagawa hold on to his life (despite having an illness) and strive to become stronger. Dazai may be seeing a bigger picture than all of us and probably in his own way, acting with the words of his late friend in mind.
BSD in Real Life
One of the most memorable characters for Kurakane is Shibusawa Tatsuhiko because they got to meet and even eat together with the real literary master's wife. She also mentions that in BSD collabs with literary museums, they also sometimes meet the relatives of other literary masters.
BSD: A Ten-year Project
The anime started around 7.5 years ago, but for them in the anime production team it actually started 9 years ago. Back then, Kurakane was asked by the company's higher-ups to create something that could continue on for 10 years.
With the main anime series, movies, stage plays, games, Wan! anime, collabs, etc. here and there, Kurakane felt like she's been running for 24h for 365 days, so in all honesty, now that the 5th season is finished, she just wants to sleep well and… play with her cat at home.
Kurakane is also one of the people behind the official Twitter account. She recalls that sometimes when she tweets something late at night (while not checking the time), some fans would leave comments worrying about the staff working too much.
Lily
Kurakane shares that of all the songs in BSD, "Lily" holds a special place in her heart because she remembers Kubodera Akira- Mori's first stage actor who died in suspected suicide- saying that he likes the song a lot.
About 「未了」 (Unfinished)
Tumblr media
In "A Perfect Murder and Murderer", the last word on the manuscript of Yokomizo- a writer- which was wet with Mushitaro's tear, is 「了」, which means "finished". To give the BSD anime a more literary feel and tone, they chose to have the 「了」.
In a similar note, while the previous BSD stage plays always ended with 「閉幕」 ("end of play" or literally "closing of curtain"), the last play: Cannibalism used the word 「了」 instead, signifying that the BSD Stage Play, as a whole piece, is "finished".
Tumblr media
What BSD Is
Kurakane shares that BSD screenwriter Enokido Yoji once said that if a story of how one becomes successful is what a Shonen manga is, then depicting the journey of a defeated person searching for their place in this world is what Literature is.
Those words really stuck with Kurakane like a guiding principle, and so no matter what media form they create BSD in, they strive to remain faithful to its root.
BSD is relatable, as it properly shows those troubles that anyone of us may be experiencing in our lives. This theme of "struggling"- which in itself is "living"- is what they strive to keep at the heart of BSD.
Future Plans
For now Kurakane can't really say anything about the future of the anime, but as they take a rest she hopes they come up with something good for BSD, in whatever form that may be. The only clear plans that they have right now are the Gakuen game, the expo, and some collabs with museums.
BSD Media Timeline

i've never really gotten into danganronpa but something about the premise makes au's so compelling to hear about (im excited for your au (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)) that being said, if you have any ryuseitai crumbs for it i'd love to see,, anyway hope ur having a good day yahoo !
im so glad people are interested in my au! Im 100% planning on posting a character list for the next update. Besides that, there are ryuseitai crumbs! Do not worry anon!
As a start, I planned on having Kanata in the au at first as the Ultimate God. I didn’t know much about the lore then, and after I learned more I decided against it. If I did have to place him in the au, maybe he would be the Ultimate Marine Biologist and be a mentor for Kaoru.
Currently in the au for the first game (ie; the one im writing now), Chiaki is placed in the au as the Ultimate Hero! For a bit of backstory, when he was younger he kept on saving people he saw in danger. As he grew older, he realized that he always accidentally attracted trouble towards him (I would compare this power to Kimihiko from The Detectives Already Dead). He decided to change his bad luck around, and soon enough he’s been deemed a hero by officials! He then applies to Yumenosaki as the Ult. Hero, he gets in and now he’s in a death game!
After Chiaki, I think it would be cool to have Tetora inherit the role as the Ultimate Hero. Maybe they both had the same fate of bad luck and Chiaki wanted to show that you can always change your fate. So before the entrance ceremony, Chiaki would teach Tetora how to be a hero. And then the next year Tetora would apply as the Ult. Hero, he gets in and now he’s in a death game too!
I have a feeling that Midori would be the Ult. Collector. In Little Kings, he did mention he collected bottle caps when he was younger so maybe he decided to collect more things as time goes on. Overtime, he realizes he can easily collect things and even start massive collections in weeks. Maybe he gets a bit popular because of this? Like sort of a local celebrity. And then after a while he applies as the Ult. Collector, gets in and now he’s also in a death game!
Finally, Shinobu would be the Ultimate Ninja! He would always imagine being the Ult. Ninja ever since he was younger, and he’s worked hard to accomplish that goal! I also have a feeling he would also be local celebrity status. Maybe he and Midori meet up once for a collab and Midori gets interested in Shinobu’s small collection of ninja equipment. Perhaps some lore with the student council stuff in the future but for now just Ultimate Ninja :D

Voice actor event!
Tumblr media
So they just uploaded this art for the voice actor event on the official website and put up some basic information.
As we know it’s happening July 4th. There are two sessions one starting at 3pm and one starting at 6:20pm.
The voice actors participating are Hatanaka Tasuku(Reki), Kobayashi Chiaki(Langa), Nagatsuka Takuma(Miya), Miyake Kenta(Shadow), Midorikawa Hikaru(Cherry), and Matsumoto Yasunori(Joe). Yusuke from HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR(singer of Reki’s theme song) and ASH DA HERO(singer of Langa’s theme song) will be there too.
Tickets to attend the event in person are:
General admission: 6,980円
General admission with merch ticket: 11,480円
The merch you get with the merch tickets are: First session: event pamphlet and A5 size illustration board of Reki and Langa Second session: event pamphlet and A5 size illustration board of high school ADAM, Cherry, and Joe
They did mention during the niconico commentary that they would be streaming the event on niconico but so far no other details of that have been released.
Edit: I swear they updated the page because there’s now a section about live streaming lol....
They will stream the events at the same times as the events through Vimeo. They will only be up on the website until the 5th at midnight.
The tickets are not going on sale until June 26th but it will be 3,500円 to watch. There is also a merch ticket for the live stream events that costs 5,500円. I assume they will not ship the merch overseas so you’ll probably need a Japanese address if you want the merch. It looks like the event pamphlet doesn’t come with the steaming ticket but the other merch is the same.
(I don’t know how the streaming will work for people overseas... it’s possible that it will be region locked and you’ll need a VPN to watch it so if you want to buy a ticket be aware that it might be difficult for you to watch)
There’s a hidden art of them without the masks!

Please PLEASE go into detail about how protective he is over Chiaki!! I literally am begging to finally hear someone else actually acknowledge their friendship/relationship especially after having to deal with a pretty toxic anti-bi/pan Nagito rper I was on a server with for a good part of a year! (Sorry went kinda ranty but hopefully my anguish is understandable!)
Oh my lord, you’re giving me a chance to shine with my fixations?! I can’t thank you enough! Now, please understand that this is based on my perception of the series as I’ve played through the second game twice. I’m pretty good when it comes to being the person who has unpopular opinions and ships and I know claiming that Nagito is bi/pan/Demi is probably one of them. But honestly, it comes from the desire to see this boy get as much love as possible. Because he sure needs it.
Ultimately, Nagito’s sexuality is never canonly specified, so I think whether gay, bisexual, Pansexual, or what have you, we’re all well within our rights to just have fun and see what we want to in a really flawed and relatable character. And that’s what makes it interesting.
That being said, let’s talk about Nagito and Chiaki. Friendship or romantic, I don’t think you can deny that Chiaki is at least special to Nagito in some way.
Upon replaying the second game, I’ve realized how protective Nagito actually is towards Chiaki interestingly enough.
In chapter 2, she leaves to go question Fuyuhiko but Nagito stops her and tells her not to let Fuyuhiko get rough with her. Every time Chiaki’s skills help them advance, he deeply praises her. Even after he’s stopped praising all the others (which he does mostly after Chapter one, hinting he does not like some of them as actual people). But for some reason, especially during the trials, Nagito is quick to jump in and mention how wonderful Chiaki is and compliment her (only to be usually cut off by someone when he starts to ramble).
It should also be noted that Chiaki and Nagito both share an appreciation for games. Nagito seems to like more luck-based games for obvious reasons, but he also mentions that like Chiaki, he likes the Twilight Syndrome series. Both of them similarly state that they felt Monokuma was butchering a favorite game of theirs.
They also both have an odd way of trying to cheer Hajime up and joke with him, the examples shown coincidentally beside one another. Chiaki says she’s gonna look for a dirty book, throwing Hajime off and Nagito “jokingly” tells Hajime to lick his boots and now to him, but Hajime is extremely put off when he claims it was a joke. These oddballs get each other in the weirdest of ways is what I’m saying. They’re both incredibly antisocial, but their hearts are reaching the same place too when they try to make an effort.
In chapter 4, when Chiaki teams up with Nagito and Kazuichi, then leaves because they’re both being clingy, Nagito quickly follows and chases after her to make sure she’s okay. Then he chastised her for running off, looking deeply concerned. Even after his attitude change, he will answer her more directly and not ignore her. When she tells him to be quiet, he politely obeys... or maybe it’s because he’s deep in thought about her motives as he mentions he was watching the trial carefully to decide on who the traitor is.
I may just be mentioning this because they’re my OTP, but if you know about their school time together and pay attention to Nagito’s Hope versus Chiaki’s Hope, I think it’s fascinating.
Okay, now let’s head into Danganronpa 3 territory. Now this is the part where I am the most shaky as I’m still trying to determine what I take canon from this series. The thing is, a friend who got me into the series informed me that the production was way rushed and that Kodaka never wanted to do the anime in the first place. But! That being said, Chiaki and Nagito have some great moments in this and the anthology comics along with it, so let’s get into some stuff.
First of all, Nagito warmly mentions that Chiaki being their class rep makes her the true Hope of their class. And you can tell he’s serious because as he’s saying it, he’s doing that thing where he’s staring at his hand desperately like he wants eat it. You know the look.
Moving on, it’s clear that aside from Chisa, Chiaki is the only one to value and treasure Nagito. And this makes sense. In her own dying words, she loves her classmates. They are the world to her. All of them. And of course, she loves Nagito too with all her heart. As evidenced as she cradled him protectively in her arms while he’s injured. At first when Chiaki and the others are determined to stand up to Junko and get their teacher back, Nagito pleads with Chiaki not to. That his luck could not overcome them. He knows they can’t win in this situation and I do think he was actually trying to talk Chiaki out of it. But of course, when Chiaki pushes back and says she wants to go anyways, he literally can’t help himself when it comes to wanting to see Hope shine. So he agrees and praises her again because of course he does.
Until it all leads to the Pain Train with Despair coming out on top. Chiaki is brutally slaughtered and we see something new from Nagito. He breaks down crying. Tears are streaming madly down his face as a forced and twisted smile appears on his lips. He even beseeches Chiaki’s name. “You understand right? You know you’re a stepping stone for Hope!” “What has been done to Nanami is unforgivable...” Nagito’s already trying to cope. To rationalize something horrible that he just witnessed in his mind. He’s trying to protect himself as he’s utterly being destroyed and breaking down like all of his classmates. Chiaki’s death literally shatters his mind. It’s a pretty well done scene even if I’m not a big fan of the brainwashing stuff. Not to mention, the way he says “You understand right, Nanami?” As if he’s begging for her forgiveness as he falls apart. It’s so very very tragic. And of course, when being made apart of the Neo World Program, his desire to see Chiaki once more, just one more time like his classmates, brings her back to him(and the other classmates) in AI form.
Honestly... it’s pretty beautiful. Chiaki is apart of Nagito in some way and is imprinted into his mind and heart. He longed to see her as much as everyone else. This person, who doesn’t seek out relationships because his luck either gets them killed or he finds their Hope to be too weak, has a connection with Chiaki like that. This is literally a person who believes his life is just a stepping stone for better and more worthy people, someone who knows their existence is a formality at this point. And still, he does have connections. There are people capable of caring about him and loving him and Chiaki was one of those people. And he wanted to see her again in the Neo World Program. Like Chiaki said, it’s no less than miracle.
But alas, this is getting rather long, isn’t it? Well in the D3 anthology, Nagito also is concerned when Chiaki avoids eating because of her hyperfixation on gaming. Chiaki skipping out on self care?! Not cool, Chiaki. And so he challenges her to a game to make sure she’ll eat lunch. Fucking protective as hell. And yes yes, the anthology isn’t canon... but that’s the thing about Danganronpa. The series is over. Any additional info and stuff added to it is meant to enrich the experience for the fandom, so it’s canon to me. What’s the fandom gonna do? Whine at me and tell me it isn’t? That Nagito wouldn’t do these things when official anthologies and content that’s sold for Danganronpa tells me he would? So... yeah.
Ultimately, whether you ship them or not, I think this fandom is missing out on the Komanami side of things and how good their relationship is when you really observe it. :3

Hajime Hinata x Reader (selfship)
Tumblr media
Selfship made for wikaaa____ on Wattpad. Reader is a Super High School Saxophonist.
Friendly reminder that English is not my first languge. You can check my Masterlists both in English and Polish here.
✦ You met Hinata as soon as you woke up on Jabberwock Island (or at least that's what you thought back then). Compared to other people, you seemed very normal to him. After all, many of the rest was very eccentric. For this reason, he was much more comfotable talking to and spending time with you. He helped you open up. He didn't push too much, seeing that you weren't entirely fine with talking to people.
✦ Fortunately, there were no older people on the island so your fear didn't manifest. You didn't have to worry about it. Hajime helped you with strangers. He gradually introduced you to the group.
✦ He instinctively covered you with his body whenever Monokuma appeared on the horizon.
✦ Hajime was impressed by your talent. He didn't remember his so you seemed even cooler. You comforted him as best as you could because you always try to help others.
Sometimes he asked you to play him something. He definitely preferred sound of saxophone compared to what the Ibuki presented.
✦ In particularly stressful situations he would grab your hand. He's not very good at dealing with women and shy about these things. You were his first girlfriend.
✦ You kissed him on the cheek once to see how he reacts. He blushed all over and excused himself saying he had to go somewhere.
✦ He hasn't officially asked you out. It was hard to be alone on the island. You just hung out together at the beach or in the houses. Usually, someone came across as soon as you wanted to be alone.
✦ Hinata escorted you to the canteen every day. It has become your little ritual.
✦ He bought gifts from the MonoMono Machine especially for you. He always kept his fingers crossed for your favorite things to come out.
✦ You used to borrow the console from Chiaki (which she was reluctant to part with) so you could play together. You used to win against him.
✦ If you had an explosive mood, he preferred to wait it out until you calmed down. When sadness was involved, he tried honest conversation.
✦ He felt like he could trust you in this cruel place. It wasn't easy with all the murders but he did his best.
✦ The boy often and willingly used your help during the investigations. He liked to walk hand in hand with you. He was asking for tips because he believed in your valuable comments. More than once you have saved everyone with information he did not notice.
✦ You were jealous of Mikan. Especially after she fell asleep with Hinata in the hospital. The boy was very confused and did not explain himself until you mentioned it.
✦ He had no problem with your slight spitefulness. If you wanted to get back at someone in a small way he would let you do it. However, he made sure that it did not exceed the limit. It might seem like an attempt to get rid of someone. He didn't want his friends to become suspicious of you. And there have been more than one accusation along the way.
✦ Hajime was worried about you. He wanted to do everything in his power to keep you from being murdered. You survived almost to the end of the game. When he found you lying lifelessly, he felt a great despair.
He made double efforts to find a person responsible for it in a class trial.
He was recovering for a long time. Friends had to try really hard to make him realize that you wouldn't want to see him like that.
✦ Hinata, seeing you after waking up in the real world, was overjoyed. Now he will try to do everything to wake you up from the coma. You will also have to get to know his new side...

Let’s Talk Timelines (Part 2)
A big question is, "When does Ritsu join Marukawa, and when does that happen in relation to everything happening in Junjou Romantica?"
There is currently one supported theory as to when Nostalgia and Romantica’s timelines intersect.
Nostalgia’s Year 1 (July - August of the following year) begins during July-August of Romantica’s Year 3  (Near Misaki’s 21th birthday and before his 22nd.)
DISCLAIMER- Years that are mentioned in the project are not canon and are not real-world years. They are not related to the release dates for chapters in any way. They are placeholders to help organize the data only.
To assign this to our placeholder years:
Nostalgia Y1: July 2017-August 2018
Where we do know:
Nostalgia cannot begin before the events of Romantica Act 1 (2014-2015)
*Nowaki makes a cameo in April during Nostalgia’s Year 1 as a doctor at the hospital Ritsu visits when his mother is ill. Nowaki was in America during April of Romantica’s Year 1 (2015) and returned that May.
*Misaki makes a cameo as a part-timer in March of Nostalgia Year 1. Misaki did not begin this job until February Romantica’s Year 1 (2015)
By the Hatori Yoshiyuki no Baai light novels, Chiaki and Tori have been in a relationship for a year. They officially began their relationship the night of Marukawa Shoten New Years Party. This is when Chiaki meets Ritsu, Emerald's newest employee. Ritsu had been working at Marukawa for about 5-6 months.
Throughout Domestica's first year together, Yanase Yuu began to work temporarily to assistas mangaka Ijuuin Kyo. Yanase formally begins working as an full-time assistant during Sentiment Act 2. This takes place in December of Romantica, Year 4.
Yanase and Ijuuin begin dating at least one month later after The Kan movie is released in January, Romantica Year 4/5. During a short story in Hatori Yoshiyuki no Baai Vol 2, Yanase answers a call from Ijuuin and promptly leaves.
The connection between Nostalgia + Domestica + Sentiment + Romantica supports this theory of how the timelines intersect.
Part 1 can be found here.

Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi Volume 6 Intermission 3 - Kasuga and O-ryo
T/N: Yep, it’s a double premiere guys, I hope you all enjoy. =)
As always, if you like this translation, you can heart it, share the link, reblog, I just respectfully ask that DO NOT REPOST ELSEWHERE. This is my contribution to the scant English content of this fandom, and I worked really hard to finish this thing, it’s not like I just copy-pasted everything. I even had to build the kanji in Jisho one by one. Try it and you’ll see what I mean. You can rave about this, rant about this, reply, etc. but if possible please link back to this page. If you’re unsure how to do that, just copy the web address of this page. If you’re on a blogsite just insert the web address as a hyperlink as a link back to here. Honestly if this light novel was officially-published in English, I wouldn’t even be doing this right now... And if it did, I’d take this offline to support the publishers and Yuuma-sensei. Creators support creators, is what I believe in. I’ll prolly do 1-5 once 6-10 has been done, or however long I can manage to translate the raw texts, it can take a toll at times.  As previously-mentioned in earlier chapters, if you stumbled upon this one, the two seasons of the anime covered volumes 1-5, so other than the extra details, you didn’t miss much stuff.
No spoilers lol
P261 "Hmph. You're the newly-hired kid? Really, you're named Kasuga? Aren't you a stumpy little tanuki-girl? I am O-ryo, the future Wakaokami. I'll train you under me, and I'll be sure to drill the job of being a waitress into your head."
I remember well, the day that I first met O-ryo sama. I am Kasuga, a Bunmon Tanuki, while still a child was chased off from my home by my Hachiyo Baba-sama to experience the outside world, and along with my uncle Chiaki who also has nowhere else to go, we inquired in, and started working in Tenjin-ya. It was that first day. That person who called me stumpy, has hair and skin as white as snow, it was the conspicuously beautiful snow lady. Her personality is of someone who hates losing. She was a selfish Sempai, but has an indomitable and strong willpower to rise to the top, and I thought that surprisingly, I have come to like this person. As such, in order to gain her dream position of Wakaokami, she exerted herself no matter what it took. P262 A woman who fights her battles to win. I came to her side and I recorded her heroic battles, and I wrote about it in my diary.
"Hey.... Hey, why are you asking something while falling asleep, Kasuga-kun, HEY!" "Whaaaa~" In the middle of talking about something regarding a Hachiyo's marriage at great length, sitting on my heels I was nodding off to sleep. Since early morning I have been with Aoi-chan, and I have been going about here and there. I was feeling confident. I was dozing off in front of Byakuya-sama. Is Byakuya-sama angry or is he surprised? "Good grief. You're a reliable and shrewd girl girl, and I think that it's beyond expectations that you're going to get married to a Hachiyo... yet I am worried that they'll find faults on you. That is a position that has many enemies, do you understand? "Yeah, I get it. I have watched Aoi-chan for a long time. But Aoi-chan is awesome... Even though she's in a disadvantage, she was aware of her own strengths. Furthermore, in Tenjin-ya, when Aoi-chan gets married to Odanna-sama, isn't there anyone who grumbles about it?" "Hmmm. in that case, isn't that a problem? Because nobody's complaining, probably there's a group that's P263 thinking about rubbing her out of existence." "That point, I am fine with that. I plan to not make enemies with my demeanor, an incomptetent person making a blunder. Well, at any rate, from the very start I have been incompetent." "..." Byakuya-sama narrowed his eyes, and with a snap hit the corner of his mouth with his fan. I thought that he was going to say something but, he just scolded me and released me after saying "You can go now" . Wahh, after standing up from sitting on my feet, they fell asleep and started tingling painfully... Holding the Maneki-neko** coin bank, I planned to go back to Yugao. Along the way, the waitresses looked over here, and started gossiping and whispering to each other. Up until now the friends that were calling me in carefree voices, and the sempai that used to fiddle with and pushed me around, now they pass sideways, and bow their heads subserviently, and flees anywhere. Oh well, I could understand why they became like that but... I come in contact with the management staff that were like Shizuna-chan and they are normally composed, but I'm a normal girl, aren't I? I feel like I'm a sore thumb sicking out. "Kasuga, Kasuga" "...Chiaki" From the other side of the hallway, peeping over here looking worried, it was my uncle, the tanuki. T/N: Maneki-neko, the beckoning cat, famously known for bringing in luck. It's said that it was originally named after a cat that waved to a monk to go inside a shrine and the monk almost got struck by lightning or something, so it was a lucky omen. P264 He approached while calling for me. "What is it, from now onwards I'm helping out at Yugao." "It's not that, you were called for by Byakuya-sama, and I got worried somewhat." "It's nothing. It's just that I'm developing a souvenir product with Aoi-chan." "Why you, aren't you scowling at me?" "Why, my relative shouldn't speak about me flippantly." He isn't necessarily overprotective and he wasn't saying anything like that, but ever since the old days Chiaki has been worrying about me. He's just a nice and charming person who took care of me, and he always looks after those that are just like me. Though I'm already fine, even at this age he still worries about me... "Chiaki aren't you staying behind here in Tenjin-ya?" "Yep. I'll continue working here. Even though I was thinking of coming along with you." "It's fine, it's nothing. I've always been taken care of by uncle, I cannot function properly being a Hachiyo's wife." "...Kasuga" His eyes gloomily welling up, holding down the corner of his eyes, Chiaki went "That tiny Kasuga has grown to be praise-worthy" "Ahhh stop it already, don't be gloomy.. Get over it." Shh... Uncle you're annoying. P265 While being paid extra care, I could feel myself fading away. Our relationship, even though we are family, here we cannot become too overly-familiar. The love that tanuki give to each other are the strongest among Ayakashi, as such they aren't entrusted to to other people, which makes tanuki unaware about so many things such as getting close to and connecting with strangers. Those people, now matter how much we studied them, we couldn't find them... With regards to those, I thought I learned those in Tenjin-ya.
"Oh.." In front of the passageway that connects the door to Yugao, there is someone who is sneakily peeping in. Isn't that... "O-ryo sama, what are you doing over that place?" "Kyaaa!" O-ryo sama jumped up suprised. With a sluggish expression, she slowly looked back. Opening her mouth as if about to talk, hesitatingly, she made a weird face by sticking her lower lip out. "H-hmph." In the end, O-ryo sama took her leave without saying anything. P266 I slightly tugged on O-ryo sama's sleeves. "What now?" O-ryo sama icily stared down at me with that severe gaze. Oh well, I've been used to that gaze. "Uhm, I believe so, that O-ryo sama will likely aim to be Wakaokami again." ".... what?" "Within Tenjin-ya, there's something that only O-ryo sama can surely do." Pulling my hands immediately from the hem, I madly dashed towards the inner garden where Yugao was. The O-ryo sama who was aiming to be Wakaokami. And the one who made her dream come true, the O-ryo sama that became Wakaokami. To me, O-ryo sama is dazzling, despite the many enemies she makes, being hated by her colleagues, being gutsy and only wants to rise up into the world. The one I adored. After doing so many different things, O-ryo sama eventually became demoted from Wakaokami, and yet... When O-ryo sama becomes Wakaokami once again. Truly, I support that from the sidelines..

Wonderful site for the youkai references
Other stuff I used to do this: Kodansha Kanji Learner’s Dictionary (you can buy here, I’m not sponsored btw). I was about to buy the older edition but then the newer one came out 2013 so I bought that instead. Worth buying since I was able to find nearly all of the words I needed just by stroke pattern alone.
Merriam-Webster's Japanese-English Dictionary (the red-covered 1996 version is apparently out of print right now). This is what I have been using for a very long time, I bought it when I was still a fetus (yes I am old so what lol), and after so many years, when compared to newer editions, I still prefer this one since its entirety is Japanese-English, the English to Japanese gloss are just 16 pages tops, so you get more Japanese words for your buck. But that’s just my opinion, maybe other people prefer the Jap-En x En-Jap IDEK.
Basic online dictionary, Jisho. Knowledge of verb conjugations  and other words are necessary since not all have entries.
If you can read Japanese, you can buy the whole set in Amazon Japan, they’re shipping worldwide now, I think.

ASOOT Timeline: May 2012 (Part 2)
It’s Gonna Be May, Part 2 of 3! We’re transitioning from Twilight to Practical Exams, with a few new friends joining the party! One of the main things I’ve learned from doing this timeline is that a lot can happen over ten days.–Timeline Anon
May 15:
The Student Council debates the recent events. Asukasei Hino doesn’t particularly care, as the only people who were hurt were Reserve Course students, but Kiriko calls him out on his attitude. They are all informed that Hope’s Peak has decided not to make the incident public.
Mahiru chides Honami for trying to kill Natsumi, but assures her that they are still friends.
Honami is going to have regular therapy sessions from Miaya from now on.
Natsumi wakes up in the infirmary and is consoled by Fuyuhiko and Peko.
May 18:
Hajime returns to school and is officially introduced to everyone in Class 77-B that he hasn’t already met yet (Sonia, Kazuichi, Gundham Tanaka, Akane, Nekomaru, Teruteru Hanamura, and the Ultimate Imposter).
Chisa talks to Jin Kirigiri and Koichi Kizakura. She convinces the headmaster to advocate on Honami’s behalf to the Steering Committee.
Mikan is still taking care of Natsumi in the infirmary; Natsumi is mostly all right except that her throat hurts from the strangulation, making it hard for her to talk. The two girls start to become friends.
Miaya promises to help Honami through her issues.
Fuyuhiko thanks Hajime for saving Natsumi’s life. In gratitude, he offers the Kuzuryu Clan’s assistance should Hajime ever need anything. Hajime talks him into sparing Honami from the Clan’s wrath.
Mahiru thanks Hajime for saving Honami. She even hugs him.
Hajime meets with the Steering Committee and officially rejects involvement in the Kamakura Project, giving the Committee an epic “the reason you suck” speech in the process. His scholarship is cancelled, but he is allowed to continue attending Hope’s Peak thanks to Chiaki’s money.
May 19: Natsumi is released from the infirmary with no lasting damage. She gives Mikan her number.
May 20: Honami is suspended until the fall semester, but she’s allowed to keep seeing Miaya for therapy sessions.
May 21:
Hajime and Chiaki begin their next mission: stopping the terrible events of the Practical Exams. Chiaki’s first order of business is to establish a friendly relationship with the trio at the heart of this issue: Ruruka Ando, Sonosuke Izayoi, and Seiko Kimura. Hajime, meanwhile, takes on the side mission of exposing the secrets of Hope’s Peak Elementary in order to save the Warriors of Hope.
Umeko is making a tachyon detector for the Practical Exams. The detector will prove that tachyons are real…and reveal any time travelers in the area.
Nagito suggests that Mikan should talk with Seiko.
May 23:
After an episode involving time drugs, Umeko tells Chiaki about her new project. Chiaki is understandably concerned.
While investigating priority targets online, Hajime finds out that the Otonokoji twins are coming to Tokyo in the summer for a concert. He manages to secure tickets from Ibuki, who thinks that he wants to go on a date with Chiaki.
Hajime gives Chiaki a list of important people who were caught up in the Utsuroshima killing game, then fills her in on the situation with the concert. Chiaki, in turn, warns Hajime about Umeko’s tachyon detector. They consider bringing her on board their team. Before leaving, Chiaki admits that if Hajime had asked her to the concert for real, she would’ve said yes.
May 24:
At the front gates, Ibuki is giving Mahiru some advice about how best to support Honami when, all of a sudden, a young journalist shows up looking for interviews. Said journalist is Nikei Yomiuri, one of the people on the Utsuroshima list. Chiaki arrives in the middle of Nikei’s interview with Ibuki, recognizes his name, and gets his business card. She also mentions Hope’s Peak Elementary to him.
Ibuki, who is clearly trying to be Hajime’s wingwoman, gives Chiaki some extra information on the Otonokojis and their band, Melody Rhythm.
Later in the evening, Hajime contacts Nikei and promises him the story of the century if he can find Hope’s Peak Elementary and dig up information on their dirty little secrets (as well as those of the WOH parents) before Class 77’s practical exams. Nikei agrees, and the two begin to work together via dummy email accounts and the like. This is the first time that Hajime uses the name “Kasugano” to hide his identity. This alias, which was the name of Hajime’s old favorite teacher, is going to stick.
Fuyuhiko and Natsumi have a long-overdue late-night conversation about Natsumi’s insecurities. Fuyuhiko tells his sister that he would never leave her behind, that they’re equals, and that she needs to do what makes her happy without worrying about what other people think.
May 25:
Natsumi calls Hajime early in the morning, tells him about the talk she had with her brother, and thanks him for saving her life. She also requests that he meet her at school on Monday so that she can give him something.
Mahiru feels insecure about the photo collage she’s planning for her exam, but Honami reassures her that her photos will inspire people around the world.
Hajime spends time with Hiyoko and buys her some yellow-less gummies.
Hajime meets Ruruka and Sonosuke. He learns a bit about their talents, their relationship, and Ruruka’s friendship with Seiko. The latter proves problematic, as Ruruka both greatly admires Seiko’s skills and resents the fact that Seiko can’t eat her candy. Furthermore, Ruruka is resistant to the idea of making sugar-free candy that Seiko can eat.
Mikan confirms that Hajime’s ankle is a lot better now. Chiaki comes to pick Hajime from the infirmary, and while Mikan is distracted with medical supplies, Hajime and Chiaki make plans to meet Umeko by the fountain at 1 AM the next morning. Unbeknownst to them, Mikan overhears this.
Hajime and Mahiru have a bonding moment where Mahiru admits that she had him pegged as unreliable at first. She’s glad that she was wrong. Chiaki teases Hajime about his obvious crush.
Nikei contacts Hajime with some dirt on one of the WOH parents: Junya Utsugi is cheating on his wife with his dental assistant. There are even photos!

Time to watch more Danganronpa S events... whatever I can find anyway lol
Chiaki
Akane and Peko are over to game! Even if Chiaki thinks Akane is good, she gets bored quickly so just spectates, while Peko is actually pretty good and even gets competitive. Akane falls asleep, and since Akane decides she’d rather stay here when she is briefly reawakened Peko decides to sleep over too.
Hajime and Chiaki see Kirumi busy, but she does offer to make time to actually see them and help Chiaki with a multiplayer game. Turns out Kirumi’s quite the gamer. Chiaki has one caveat tho - she wants to make sure Kirumi can have fun, saying if she likes the game she should let herself enjoy it. The scene ends with Hajime asking who’s player four, lol.
Leon sees Chiaki gaming at the beach and is confused. Chiaki does let him know she’s doing this BECAUSE she has several days to go to the beach, but Leon still wonders why she’d game at the beach. He doesn’t seem to get her, lol.
Chiaki tells Ibuki about how she played rhythm games, and wonders if Chiaki reflexively moving her hands to her singing would mean she’d able to play. Chiaki says she wouldn’t be good at real instruments, but if Ibuki turned her music into a rhythm game she’d have fun.
Maki interaction! They’re going to the beach, and Chiaki reminisces about how she once brought board games to the beach for her first time. Chiaki then says she has more practical stuff for this gathering, including a phone from Miu. Maki is surprised she’d get along with Miu, and Chiaki says they’ve rarely talked and just figured a phone wouldn’t hurt. Maki talks about how Miu is... Miu, and mentions how Kaede is who ends up having to reign her in. Chiaki wonders if she’s worries, and Maki says she just hates their bickering (let’s be real tho, she’s probably concerned lol). Cut to Miu, Kaede and Hiyoko. Miu gets weirdly curious and well, yeah, Kaede tells her to stay calm. Kaede is also surprised for a moment cuz Chiaki looks at her, but she’s just happy her class all seems to get along so well.
Chiaki offer Maki to play a game with her! Chihiro’s also there, and Chiaki offers them to join in, but Chihiro feels uncomfortable being in a girl’s room with them all in pyjamas. Chiaki also thinks Maki is really nice, and it must be why children like her. Chihiro feels bad about having to leave because of gender awkwardness tho. :(
Aoi talks about how she’s played gamed before with her brother, and how she‘s very physical and tends to stick with stuff like arcade shooters. Apparently when Chiaki games and she’s focused, only her eyes and hands move. Aoi wonders if Chiaki would swim, but it’s probably a bit much for her.
Celeste is curious about Chiaki because she hears some games have gambling elements. Basically, Celeste wants to try a gambling game out with Chiaki to see who comes out on top. She also recounts the mahjong incident with Jin Kirigiri from UTDP, lol. Anyway, they agree to have a game night! I bet it comes pretty close.
Chiaki is curious to see how Keebo would play, especially seeing how good some AI can be (including Monokuma lol), and Keebo hearing those examples is determined to play well with her. Keebo... does terribly. He does accept he’s not specialised like a game AI, but his pride is still wounded, but Chiaki lets him continue cuz he did seem to be enjoying it, he even almost made a breakthrough.
Chiaki could try... streaming? Kokichi offers to sponsor, but Chiaki mentions she’s already in talks to try something official, and asks why an evil org would even sponsor her. Kokichi says... it’s because people call video games the root of all evil, lmao. Chiaki says she wants to be a positive influence instead of leaning into that irony, lol. Kokichi says he’s moved by Chiaki’s sincerity, and wants to make something she can play to sponsor her, lol. Chiaki just thinks he’ll try and make something unbeatable though... let’s be real, she’d probably be into that. XD
Chiaki talks to Tsumugi about a tournament/championship idea? Tsumugi knows someone who’s into a FPS and wants to play in a competition, and they end up bonding a bit, Chiaki agrees to the idea but says she’s in it to win. It ends saying she’ll practice 25 hours a day. :P
Kazuichi thinks she’d be good at making a game cuz she knows how they work. Chiaki isn’t too into the idea at first, saying she only has really dabbled in making unfair RPG maker levels, but Kazuichi discusses how different people like Chihiro, Toko, Hifumi, himself and Miu could all combine their talents to create a game. Chiaki likes the idea, but she’d rather wait until they return home after graduation.
Chiaki tries to be a street performer in the festival... as an unmoving statue. Ibuki is impressed at her practice, but pokes her for funsies, lol. Chiaki says don’t, but Ibuki lets her know she still held it in pretty well.
When telling scary stories, she says she knows scary games from horror to free to play LOL. Kokichi helps guide her on what story to tell, saying that if it is just the game itself she’s telling it kinda takes away from it cuz people will know it’s just that. Chiaki then goes for something scary WHILE playing a game.
Tsumugi and Chiaki bonding with ghost stories. Tsumugi jokes her story is just her having to prepare for a con at the last minute, but then goes on to tell the story about a friend who can no longer distinguish fantasy and reality. sounds like some people I know on this site That’s eerily close to her story in V3, “ultimate real fiction” and all. Chiaki uses the first to be inspired to tell a story about turning off a game before saving.
More Kokcihi, now with Kazuichi! Kokichi reveals the killer was... YOU. Wow, don’t make me relive V3, man. Kazuichi screams his head off, while Chiaki barely reacts and just says what she felt, cuz consciously trying to express herself more is hard for her. Wow, Autistic mood, much? Chiaki tries reacting again, but still struggles. XD
We end with a lot of the DR2 cast using the theatre screen to game. Chiaki also talks about how VR could be like a big screen but even more advanced, Hajime says it’s kinda like they’re in a game right now. In a really sweet moment, Sonia wonders if some advanced VR game existed she could play with them, and Chiaki says if it was like this, they’d basically all be able to meet each other in this virtual world like it was real whenever they wanted. :) Of course, the resources needed would be immense, but Sonia offers to construct a test facility in Novoselic with the help of Hope’s Peak. This kinda follows up on that Kazuichi conversation, Chiaki now seems like she’d really be into making this.
Alternate scene with Kirumi and Hajime, but now we have Kamukura. Anyway... apparently Chiaki got Izuru to play with her, and they ask Kirumi to join them.
...Monokid?
Yeah, apparently there’s a side story for Monokid. He’s sick of serving everyone, lol.
He does something in the virtual world with his wand and everyone’s confused at the new place they’re at.
...he summons the Monobeasts and isn’t even with the other kubs, huh. He wants validation from dad I guess. :v
It’s the DR1 cast here specifically too. Also, when Toko wants to avoid the fight, Syo appears and likes the wrestling setting lol.
Oh huh, Monokid’s a boss.
Monokid is defeated and they get his hope fragment. He’s sick of working, Makoto feels bad that he’s exhausted.
Meanwhile, Monosuke seems to be scheming. :v
Komaru
Don’t think I’m seeing all her events here, but most should be here?
Komaru makes some very stereotypical assumptions about Shuichi as a detective, which he’s quick to debunk. Kyoko comes up in the conversation, Komaru said Makoto didn’t say much about her... Komaru calls her a cutie. Shuichi figures out she’s a manga fan.
Uh oh, Hiroko and Monokuma are arguing about parenting. Monokuma even insults Yasuhiro, which doesn’t make her happy. Her and Komaru decide it’s best they move elsewhere. Monokuma then vows to show everyone despair, lol.
Komaru and Chiaki get along nicely, Komaru is impressed at the gaming stuff she has, but is also just happy that someone’s nice and she doesn’t have to be with Toko or Makoto all the time. :P
Kotoko and Monaca are still on the whole ADULTS SUCK train, and Komaru does find it to be kinda awkward around them, lol.
Komaru is pretty starstruck around Kirumi, she tries to get her to calm down as she serves her tea.
Huh, you can actually buy stuff and have it 3D printed IRL. She’s looking at potential souvenirs with Syo, and as expected, Syo is hard to please.
Komaru talks to Maki the latter encountered the kids. Maki quickly recognises that their issue is that they hate people trying to control them. Komaru seems pretty naive to the fact that Maki had trouble with them, lol.
Thank you video for revisiting some missed scenes, we get one with Sayaka. Komaru’s still starstruck, heh. Sayaka is chill and reassures her, though, they even end up on a first name basis.

Traitor Hajime au
I mentioned making one before so may as well do it now
Especially since I won’t be having WiFi for a while after today qwq
This au has Hajime befriend Class 77 and doesn’t join the Izuru Kamukura project and is Executed in Chiaki’s place as a result
OOC moments for Hajime and Chiaki because they sorta swap places here
Things to clarify
• Chiaki is still class rep but Hajime bonded with Class 77 similarly to Island mode
• One of the steering committee’s sons is the one to take Hajime’s place in the project
Prologue
• Hajime is the first student in the classroom since he was programmed in and greets everyone as they enter
• When they arrive in the island, Hajime is much more relaxed than in canon and actually manages to chat with the group before they go their separate ways
• Unlike in canon, Hajime is perfectly okay with the fact he’s a reserve course student and tells everyone when introducing himself (no one really cares. Some were surprised and that’s that)
• Except one person named Nagito Komaeda
• His true colors are hinted at earlier this time due to him insulting Hajime about it (which lead to negative opinion from the group) but once again unlike in canon he doesn’t take it personally because he actually knows Nagito is a good person once you get through to his head
• When Monokuma shows up, he’s the most distressed because he’s full aware that the killing game is serious and when he’s cut across the face he takes it as a warning from Monokuma not to cross the line
Chapter 1
• Him and Chiaki are the only ones concerned over Usami/Monomi as the others dismiss her
• During the party, he offers to stay outside with Monomi both so everyone can bond and because he needs to talk to Monomi about the situation
• He actually suspects that Nagito might make the first move “for the sake of the class” like with how he bombed Hope’s peak to interrupt the exams “for the sake of the class”
• Monomi scolds him to trust the class more but his worries skyrocket when he hears the body discovery announcement
• When the investigation starts, Nagito isn’t as nice to Hajime as he was in canon but seems slightly nicer since him and Hajime can become stepping stones to hope
• Hajime fervently hopes that his suspicions of Nagito are wrong but the class trial proves them true much to his disappointment
• Later on when Hajime reveals Teruteru as the killer, Nagito is shocked that someone like Hajime can lead the class as he did and at one point outright tells Hajime to leave the class trial to the ultimates’ hope but Hajime tells him he will not let them die
• Hajime’s heart aches when Teruteru screams out for his mother being the only one among the group aware of the fact that his mother was dead, killed by his own hand
Chapter 2
• When it’s revealed to the group that Nagito is tied up, he expresses immediate concern because he knows Nagito is sickly but is forced into silence by his programming
• Hajime actually visits Nagito to have a chat with him (without telling the others)
• Nagito is way less welcoming to Hajime than in canon but still ends up having a free time event with him (“Because I don’t have a choice anyway” Nagito says but he did enjoy his time with Hajime)
• When Monokuma reveals the motive, he checks what the game is about with Monomi once everyone leaves and asks Monomi to watch Fuyuhiko, Peko and Mahiru to the best of her ability because he can tell this motive is centered around them
• Nagito is extremely condescending when asking Hajime to feed him but Hajime actually feeds him this time because he can’t let Nagito starve
• Hajime prays that Monomi can stop a murder from happening but when Mahiru’s body is discovered his hopes are crushed again as he goes to free Nagito for the investigation
• When Chiaki leads him to play the game but he actually reveals to her that he already played it and let’s her go through the game for evidence in the class trial
• When Peko is Executed with Fuyuhiko nearly getting killed as well, he’s so grateful that Monomi found a loophole
Chapter 3
• His reactions aren’t changed much in Chapter 3 at least until Mikan is revealed as the killer
(Yeah Hajime is still as dense as ever when Nagito has the liar disease and he wants Hajime to stay cause he genuinely enjoyed Hajime’s company when they hung out but even as the traitor and still smarter as an AI he’s dense it’s just in his nature)
• When Ibuki And Hiyoko are revealed as the victims of the case, he tells Monomi to get it together when she denies the possibility of killings happening (which is made as foreshadowing to their relationship because foreshadowing always happens)
• In this case, Hajime and Nagito actually seem to be in steady terms and when they go to the movie theater, Nagito wonders if Hajime has a talent and it was just never acknowledged
• During the trial he does get frustrated when Nagito tries to say he’s the killer but later on understands what he was going for
• When Mikan is revealed as the killer and goes psycho, his heart stops cause she’s her Ultimate Despair self
• His programming stops him from saying anything regarding Mikan’s beloved and the Future Foundation despite him screaming on the inside to reveal the truth to them because he had gotten attached to the group again and his programming actually warned him to be careful since that’s literally what got him killed as a person
Chapter 4
• His heart nearly jumps out of his chest when Nagito accuses him of being the traitor cause he’s right on the money and when Kazuichi doubts him his programming has him opposing it but in the inside he feels guilty about lying
• When it’s revealed that food will be the motive, Hajime actually tells Monomi a day in he might kill himself so they don’t have to starve to death since it’s his job to protect them but Monomi quickly stops him
• In the final dead room, the big reveal about Hajime to Nagito (since he already knows he’s a reserve course student) is the fact that he’s officially deceased which leads him to believe Hajime is the traitor but there’s no confirmation
• The trial stays relatively the same and Hajime is the only one who knows why Nagito changed behavior because Monomi told him about what happened in the final dead room
• After Gundham is executed, Nagito asks Hajime if he can talk with him in private
Chapter 5
• Nagito asks Hajime if he’s the traitor and Hajime of course denies it (under orders of his programming) and Nagito shows Hajime’s file labeling him as deceased
• Hajime says it’s just a coincidence and makes an excuse to leave and Nagito is not convinced
• When Hajime and Monomi were talking somewhere else, Nagito snuck into Monomi’s house and took the notebook which confirmed Hajime was the traitor because he documented the time he spent with Nagito
• After the bomb threat and everyone is in high guard, Nagito surprises Hajime in his cottage and reveals the notebook confirming Hajime to be the traitor
• He tells him he understand why he lied because why would he admit the truth and risk his life for criminals?
• Hajime tells him it isn’t like that and he couldn’t talk despite him desperately wanting to and they leave it at that
• When the handbook scanned is revealed to be a red herring, Hajime is 100% frustrated that he expected it to be able to end like that
• After Nagito’s body is discovered, Hajime can already feel it has something to do with him
• That feeling turns out to be correct and Hajime has Chiaki out him and like in canon, Monomi and Sonia defend Hajime with all their might but are struck down
• Hajime tells Chiaki to look to the future with everyone else before he’s executed alongside Monomi
Chapter 6
• Hajime saves the group from despair specifically after it’s revealed Chiaki was the one who uploaded Junko into the program out of pure devotion to her
In Hope arc, it is Nagito who contemplates about Hajime since they were actually closer to Hajime than Chiaki and later on Kazuichi actually has him chat again with his AI before he dies from his brain diseases
This was fun to make : )
Though might not be very good since I’m rushing to get this out

A Dove’s Ripped Wings: Chapter 4 | The King and The Dove
Tumblr media
Chapter 4:
prologue / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 /
Word count: 5.5 K
🏐 🏐 THIRD PERSON P.O.V.🏐 🏐
A finger presses into the doorbell of the house, the sound echoing through the building. The person who pressed the doorbell, Sugawara, had a closed-eyed smile on his face, humming to himself as he stood in front of the door. Behind him, Daichi stood in his black jersey, a look of unease on his face, refusing to come closer to the door.
The captain of the boys' Karasuno volleyball club nearly flinched as the door slowly opened. However, his shoulder relaxed as a silver-haired female opened it.
However, the smile dropped off Sugawara's face as he and Daichi both winced as they took a look at the female who stared at them coolly. Usually, Chiaki had a soft smile on her face, having the look of gentleness coating around her. But today, her usually placid personality seemed to be replaced with a mild hostility as she glared at the two males in front of her house.
"You two actually came," Chiaki icily comments as she fully opened the door, placing her hand on her hip, her chin slightly lifted as if she was looking down at them.
Both Sugawara and Daichi gulped, suddenly feeling a bead of sweat go down their back, although the morning breeze was reasonably cool.
"G-Good morning, Aki-chan," Sugawara greeted, his face twitching a bit as he forced himself to smile.
Chiaki doesn't respond, just staring at them, a silence falling over them. At every second that passes, the boys become even more uncomfortable, stifling the urge to run away at the dark aura that leaks out of the female in front of them.
Eventually, a sigh leaves Chiaki's lips, her shoulders slumping, and the displeasure that hovered over her seemed to disperse. The silver-haired female grabs the purse behind her and closes the door.
At that moment, Daichi realizes that the female was wearing outdoor clothes that consists of simple jeans and a white cropped shirt instead of her pajamas. Even her hair is styled to her usual braid, although it was seven in the morning. Sugawara also notices this as well, both males suddenly feeling touched as they realized that their female friend had actually gotten ready to meet up with them although she didn't want to.
A smile spreads across both males' faces, which Chiaki decides to ignore as she sees them looking at her. Refusing to make eye contact, she follows after them, although she was inwardly upset. Sugawara and Daichi share eye contact, it takes everything in their power to hold in an amused snicker when they feel a tug at the back of their jacket. Chiaki pouts but holds onto the end of their coat as she realizes they walked a bit too fast.
"Chiaki-san, are you mad at us?" Sugawara stretched out her full name, even using the honorifics as he teasingly asked. He moved his head to peek behind in, but before he could, Chiaki let go of his jackets and forced him to look forward.
"Shut up, don't look back, Suga-senpai. I'm angry," Chiaki grumbles. However, little did she know that she barely sounded angry, which made Daichi snort a laugh, quickly covering his mouth with his hand to mask it.
It seemed like Chiaki's mood seemed to get better as they arrived on campus, the silver-haired female still having a tight grip on her older friends' jackets, forcing them to walk in front of her without looking back.
Going to the gym, a small crowd was already formed outside, waiting for Daichi to open the door. However, a palpable tension could be felt between the first years, Kageyama and Hinata glaring at a tall glassed male.
"Captain good morning!" Hinata was the first to notice the presence of his senpais, beaming brightly as he waved his arm over his head in greeting.
"Ōu, good morning. Wait, a second, let me open the gym for us," Daichi greeted, going through his bag looking for the gym key. As he does this, Chiaki gets revealed standing behind Sugawara and Daichi, all of their eyes zoning on her.
Tanaka seemed to freeze, his cheeks flushing. "A-Aki-san!"
Chiaki smiles lightly, making the male with shaved hair release a choke like sound, his face melting into a blessed look getting acknowledged. Chiaki quickly moves away from the two third-years she was behind, trotting her way to Kageyama.
"Ōus," the dark-haired male greets her. Next to him, the orange-haired boy seemed to grow flustered, not knowing how to react as the female approached them. S-She's so pretty! And s-shes coming our way...!
"Mm, morning Tobi-kun," Chiaki nearly coos as she dived headfirst into his chest, hugging the younger boy while the mouth of the others fell open, a silent scream leaving their lips. Everyone seemed to fall into more chaos as the boy casually hugged her back, not looking too taken aback as she squeezed him.
Hinata openly pointed his index finger at the taller boy accusingly, "y-you! I lost all respect for you, Kageyama! Who cares if you're an awesome setter! Let the pretty senpai go, you indecent, shameless guy!" The boy with bright hair stuttered, jumping up and down.
Beside him, Tanaka bit into a handkerchief as he cried, "h-how dare he casually hugs Aki-senpai, our years' goddess! Kageyama.... Kageyama, I will not forgive you!"
At the commotion, Chiaki pulls away from the younger boy she hugged. She eyed Hinata for a moment, making the said boy quickly shut up and flinch away, his cheeks flushing a bright pink under her attention. "I-I..."
"I saw you last year playing Tobi-kun. What's your name?" Chiaki questioned, letting go of Kageyama as she looked at the shorter boy with a kind smile. The female ignores the heated look given to her by the boy beside her, already being able to tell Kageyama wanted to question the statement she just made. It seemed like she forgot to mention that she had seen his game last year against Yukigaoka.
Hinata straightened his back and saluted, "H-Hinata Shōyō, year one, class one, ma'am!"
Chiaki hummed, immediately taking a liking to the boy's bright but genuine smile, "Hinata-kun, ne? I was very impressed by your spirit and jumping ability last year. If you polish your skills, I have a feeling you can get far," Hinata didn't notice the gleam that entered the silver-haired female's eyes, already distracted, feeling touched at what she said.
On the other hand, Kageyama seemed shocked by her words, his eyes widening a fraction before narrowing on the shorter boy who was bouncing on the heel of his feet in excitement.
"I'm Ibato Chiaki, a second-year student in class five. It's nice to meet you, Hinata-kun," Chiaki smiled and couldn't help but reach forward, her hand sinking on top of Hinata's head and patting him. Oh, it's surprisingly soft. She thinks as she touches the messy locks, not seeing how the boy seemed to blow a fuse, going scarlet.
Sugawara sweatdropped as a shaky laugh left his mouth, witnessing the destruction capability Chiaki had with a simple touch. Silently, he thought about how fearful she was without even trying.
By this time, Daichi had opened the gym, the boys preparing the match as they set up the net. Others began to warm up, making sure their muscles were loose enough for the game. Silently, Chiaki watched. However, at one point, she noticed the blond-haired boy who was taller than all of them eyeing her from across the gym. He seemed to realize she had seen him as well. She didn't expect him to flash a condescending smile that immediately rubbed her in the wrong way.
She kept her face neutrally friendly as he slowly approached her with his hands in his black shorts. "Heh, I never would have thought the Dove would be at a school like ours that's not really well known. Nee, what are you doing here? The media were looking for you, Ibato-san. Or would you rather me call you by your court name?"
Chiaki isn't going to lie. She never would have imagined the boy in front of her to pick a fight straight off the bat. He didn't even bother hiding his intentions, staring down at her with his amber eyes. At the same time, she could pick up the similar scent of mischief and manipulativeness her older brother Taiga carried on this boy. Wicked and scheming. And a bit like her too.
"Hm, really? One of my brothers is an alumnus from Karasuno, so I knew it was a fairly good school for someone like me. What is your name, are you a first-year?" The silver-haired female questioned, smiling and not looking a bit bothered by the taunt the taller boy had sent her.
This seemed to be not the response the blond was hoping for, his mouth tilting down, his eyes flashing with disappointment Chiaki didn't miss.
"Tsukishima Kei, first year," Tsukishima mumbled, looking away from her. Hearing the name, a familiar face popped up in her mind, recalling an individual's name from her memories.
She hummed, her lips twitching into a smile as she let out a thoughtful sound, "Tsukishima? I knew a Tsukishima who went to Karasuno. He was part of the volleyball club when my brother was the assistant coach for a couple of years. Tsukishima Akiteru-san if I remember correctly. He wasn't playing in official matches but practiced a lot," Chiaki comments, watching the male stiffen in front of her. Ah, hit a sensitive topic. Bingo, I guess.
Chiaki wasn't lying. When Minato went to Karasuno, nearly every day, she'd run over from her own VBC practice to come to watch her brother practice as she sat on the coach's lap. Everyone on the volleyball club knew her as Minato's baby sister, who loves volleyball, and in return, she knew all of their names. Even when Minato graduated high school, she visited when she had time seeing as he became the coach assistant.
Minato had returned to Karasuno a year after graduating at the request of Coach Ukai, helping him until year 2010 when he moved to Tokyo because of a new job offer. And with her keen memory, she can distinctly remember Tsukishima Akiteru, a boy who wasn't part of the starters or bench but a player who practiced very hard although he couldn't stand on the courts.
Tsukishima felt a shiver run down his back as he saw the glint in Chiaki's eyes, the female smiling at him. Which idiot started calling her the Dove? More like a snake... Tsukishima thinks, looking away from Chiaki.
Chiaki holds herself back from snickering and making her way to Sugawara and Shimizu, leaving behind the tense blond male. The silver-haired male greeted her with a beam, the boy throwing a friendly arm over her shoulder testingly. When Chiaki doesn't brush away, not even seeming to be taken aback, Sugawara mentally confirms his suspicion of Chiaki not being as aloof as he first thought. He had first had his suspicions when he started to eat lunch with her and Daichi. But when he saw the interaction she had with Kageyama, he really began to think about it. Aki-chan is a dere-dere hiding under a kuu-dere mask! The silver-haired male thinks as he grins.
Shimizu watches this with an eyebrow raised, before pinching Sugawara's hand, making the said boy flinch and look at the glassed manager in shock and hurt. The female ignores him and nods in greeting at the younger girl. Chiaki smiles too, being acquainted with the third-year beauty through Sugawara and Daichi. She met Shimizu when the VBC manager came looking for Daichi to give him some paperwork for the club when Chiaki was eating lunch with him.
"Alright!" At Daichi's loud voice, everyone's attention went to the third-year captain, "let's get started! I'll be joining Tsukishima's group so-"
The male can't finish his statement as Hinata speaks up, looking flustered, "eh?! You're playing too, captain?!"
This makes a laugh leave Daichi's lips as he waved a hand to calm down the bright-haired boy who was growing panicked. "It's fine! As far as offensive power, Tanaka's much better than me!"
This makes Chiaki curious, her eyes moving over the six people who were going to play. It also makes the silver-haired teen realize she has never seen her friends play volleyball while knowing them for over a year. But she can only blame herself, knowing she had always declined the invitation sent to her by Daichi and Sugawara.
Somebody coughs, and Chiaki and the other's eyes automatically go to the tall glassed blond. "Now, who should we crus-I mean block first? The short one or Tanaka-san?" The male makes a motion of covering his mouth with his hand, but he was nowhere close to whispering, "oh, and I really want to see the King lose."
Chiaki hums and looks at the female who stands next to her, "Shimizu-san, is Tsukishima-kun a middle blocker?"
The black-haired female seemed surprised Chiaki spoke to her but nodded, her hands holding a clipboard for note-taking during the game.
The information makes Chiaki think about her own brother, Taiga, another middle blocker. I wonder if being sardonic and taunting is part of being a middle blocker...? While Taiga was never like that to her, she had witnessed her brown-haired brother mock and rile the opponent team multiple times with a sweet smile on his face. While that personality was mainly for when he was on the courts, he could be quite manipulative outside it too.
Kouga wasn't like that. He let his twin brother handle the taunting and breaking down the mentality of the opponent. Instead, he was a powerful middle blocker that took advantage of his leg's strength, following his twin's instruction and plans.
Chiaki hums as she slowly approaches Kageyama, quietly grabbing his hand and squeezing it. He flinches, surprised at the touch, but immediately, a feel of nostalgia washes over him. It was a subtle action the older female always took when they were in middle school before a match. Kageyama wasn't the only person on the receiving end of Chiaki's magic touch. It was actually well known between Kitagawa Daiichi's volleyball team.
Before a game, the female would go around both her team and the boys, squeezing each of their hands twice, as if it was a good luck charm. And secretly, it was rumored to be exactly that. Someone even said that they once missed the opportunity, going to the restroom during Chiaki's ritual. And when the game began, they claimed they didn't feel like they were playing their best. Kageyama could remember even Oikawa not refusing Chiaki's hand squeeze, although he openly didn't get along with her.
"Good luck, Tobi-kun. I know you can do it," Chiaki calmly whispered before taking her place beside Shimizu, deciding to help with the scorekeeping.

Chiaki released a low hum that could barely be heard, her keen eyes narrowed on the court. She watches as Hinata is blocked again by Tsukishima. The way Hinata was able to jump was impressive for his height. However, Chiaki couldn't deny Tsukishima did his job as a middle blocker with his height. And from where she's at, she could see that the blond also seemed to have a talent of riling his opponent with condescending comments that irritated them.
Chiaki's eyes moved to her older friend on the court, watching as Daichi was able to receive Kageyama's spike without much trouble. She's nodding to herself, impressed at his ability. Daichi isn't bad either, and that makes her smile with pride even if it wasn't her achievement.
"C'mon, your highness! Shouldn't you start getting serious soon?" Tsukishima taunts, smiling down at the dark-haired setter who's unusually silent. This makes Hinata scowl, glaring at the taller blond.
"What the heck with you! You've been an ass like this since we met! What's with calling Kageyama the King or whatever!" Hinata snaps, stomping his way up to the net to get closer to Tsukishima.
In response, Tsukishima smirks, pointing a mocking finger at Kageyama, who watched. "Do you know the reason why this guy was called 'the King'?"
The silver-haired female's eyes shifted to Kageyama with worry. When reunited, Chiaki didn't bring up their past year. But rumors had reached Chiaki's ears as well. And a small part of her felt guilty.
Hinata has a look of confusion on his face as his eyes briefly shift to his teammate, who stays silent. "Isn't it because he's crazy good and the guys from the opponent teams are scared of him?"
This makes Tsukishima release a laugh that doesn't seem genuine. "There may be people who think that. But," the glassed male paused, his lips curving up as a dark smile takes over his expression, "rumor says, the nickname 'The King Of The Court' was given to him by his teammates. It means a selfish, egotistical king. A tyrannical dictator."
"Hey, why are you yapping instead of playing?"
Everyone was surprised by the feminine voice, their eyes turning to where the scoreboard was. Sugawara and Daichi felt their eyes widen as they took in Chiaki's expression. While she had a smile on her face, it made their soul shiver, and they, themselves didn't understand why.
Chiaki's eyes were zoned on the blond-haired male who seemed equally as taken aback that she spoke up, "all you're doing is bringing up the past. Tobi-kun has his faults too, but there's no denying it. His ability as a setter isn't questionable, he has raw talent. He's still at the learning stage where he can improve and change to help his teammates. Some people can hit his sets, and maybe his middle school teammates just weren't that."
Tsukishima snorted, seeming to recover from his shock as he sent a mocking smile to the female. "Oh, are you saying commoners like us don't have the ability to hit his sets? Perhaps, being The Dove, you're trying to stand up to your fellow genius? If that's the case, why don't you show us the quick strike? You can do it, right? Or," Tsukishima paused as his eyes moved down. His gaze shifts down, going to her knee covered by a black brace over her jeans. "The Dove can't jump anymore? Is the rumor of The Dove with ripped wings true, then?"
Chiaki stared at Tsukishima, a smile still on her face. She continued to stare, and with each passing second, the younger boy slowly became uncomfortable until he finally looked away. At this, Chiaki released a silent scoff, her expression breaking for a split second, actually showing her displeasure.
Daichi and Sugawara watched their friend in concern, being able to recognize the hurt that flashed in her eyes for a brief second. They would have missed it if they weren't looking at her.
Tsukishima seemed to gain the confidence again, seeming to know that he shouldn't keep mouthing off his senpai, turning his attention back to Kageyama, who stood with his hand clenched. "Anyhow, you can't use your quick-strike anymore because that decisive match where you were benched left you scared, right?"
It seemed Tanaka also had enough, his sharp gaze glaring at the blond, his eyebrows furrowing together in annoyance. "You've been mouthing off for a while now, you bastard. Even bad-mouthing Aki-san, you have the ner-"
"Tanaka," a single call from Daichi and a warning look from his captain made the male with shaved head shut up, his glare still sent towards Tsukishima, who smiled.
The awkward tension in the gym was stifling. However, one teen broke it.
"Yeah, that's right. Tossing the ball up only for no one to be there behind me frightens me down to my soul," Kageyama spoke. And Chiaki felt a small part of her heartbreak at the look on the younger boy's face.
"Eh? But that's the story of junior high, isn't it?"
A loud, clear voice questioned, making everyone's attention shift to a certain boy with bright orange hair. Chiaki blinked, Kageyama having a similar expression on his face as he looked at the smaller boy. "Since you toss the ball to me properly and all, that stuff doesn't really matter to me."
Chiaki felt her lips part in awe as Hinata pointed a finger at Tsukishima, not looking a bit bothered by anything he had heard in the last few minutes, "the problem is how we're gonna knock you down right now."
This makes many of them laugh or stifle a laugh. Even Kageyama seemed to be taken aback at Hinata's simplicity, the said male bounding to him energetically while pointing at the opponent blond.
"We're gonna win against Tsukishima and start club activities for real! And you'll be a setter fair and square! So then you can toss it to me! Is there anything else to it?" Hinata questioned, stepping closer to Kageyama, who staggered back and looked as if he didn't know how to respond to the ginger.
The game recommences, the ball getting tossed into the air. Chiaki's sharp eyes follow the ball as well as the players on the court, finding the areas of empty spaces, a habit she had because of her former status as a wing spiker. It must be the same for Kageyama, the male tossing the ball to his teammates who spiked. The silver-haired female doesn't show it but she's slightly surprised as Kageyama and Hinata are able to do quick sets, although they've only known each other for a few days.
"He's really amazing...." Sugawara comments as he comes next to her, standing beside her, their shoulders touching each other.
Chiaki nods in response, however as the game continues, she winces every time Hinata misses the ball, his palm hitting the air. She could barely look as Hinata and Kageyama argue with each other. However, her attention moves to the older boy beside her as he picked up the ball that rolled to his feet.
"Kageyama," at his name being called, the raven-haired boy looks at Sugawara, surprise written all over his face. "This is the same way you acted in junior high," Sugawara sighs, his lips pulling down into a frown. The teen looks like he's about to say something more, however, the silver-haired male flinches as Kageyama looks at him.
The said male doesn't seem to notice as he speaks to his senpai, a look of confusion and distraught on his face, "Hinata excels in mobility, reflexes, and speed. And in addition, he has jumping power... Doesn't that mean, if he gets used to it, he could even pull off a quick attack...?"
Chiaki crosses her arms over her chest as she cocks her head to the side while thinking. Kageyama isn't precisely wrong, but that was probably impossible to achieve in a single game.
"Hinata's weapon, that nimbleness of his... Don't you think it's being diminished by your toss?" With the third-year's words, a look of surprise appeared on Kageyama's face. The third-year continues, his eyebrows furrowing, "Hinata doesn't have any technique or experience. And your team was barely together because it was a group of talented players. But with your talent...."
Hinata, on the other hand, drops his shoulder in dejection at being called out for his lack of experience.
Sugawara looked flustered, waving his hand in front of him, seemingly trying to sort his words right. "How do I put this? More of Hinata's ability or character, or whatever we can call it. Uh-it'll be more like, erm.... It's like you'll somehow use him better? I-I'm, I'm a setter just like you, so I was amazed when I watched your match last year." Sugawara slowed down, holding the volleyball between his hands as he looked down at it, "you had sense and ball control better than anyone in the stadium. And above all, you calmly saw through the opposing blockers' movement and made decisions accordingly... Those were talents I don't have..." Sugawara sighed, the end coming out barely as a whisper.
Tanaka opened his mouth to argue, but before he could, Daichi sent him a look with a shake of a head that made him quickly shut up.
"For you, who has technique, probably more than enough willingness. And above all, excellent eyes which can see everything around you, there is absolutely no way you can't see your comrades on the court with you!" Sugawara ends his words with a determined stare.
Immediately, Kageyama thinks about his senpai's words. Briefly, his eyes moved to Chiaki, and that action made him think about her words she had said to him on multiple occasions while they were still in middle school.
"Tobi-kun, you have keen eyesight like me. Take advantage of that and look at the court with a broad eye. As a setter, it's important to see which teammates you can use. Observance is a gift."
Kageyama's head snapped to the orange-haired male next to him, the said male looking absolutely lost, a look of question on his face.
"I-"
Hinata flinches, jerking away as Kageyama loomed over him, staring at him with his sharp eyes.
"Wha-?"
"I am jealous of your physical ability!"
"Hah?!" Hinata gasped, confused at the sudden compliment sent to him by the male he thought wasn't capable of doing such a thing.
Kageyama ignores Hinata's confusion as he continues, "that's why you, who have the ability but are horrible at volleyball, irritates me!" His comments anger Hinata, the smaller boy growing confused as he's complimented and dissed in the same sentence. "Since that's the case, I will pull out all of your ability. At your fastest speed, perform your highest jump, and I will get the ball to you!"
It takes only a second for Chiaki to realize what Kageyama was going to try to do. She blinks, subconsciously bringing her thumb to her mouth, nibbling on it thoughtfully. If he is able to do that.... His ability as a setter would really be mind-blowing. The silver-haired teen understood to pull off setting the ball to the spiker without any hints was only possible for someone with keen observation skills. If Kageyama was going to pull this off, he's going to have to be aware of the ball and spiker's location, along with calculating the height of where he would jump.
She can't help but lean forward in the seat she sat in, her pupils dilating as she watches everything. Chiaki sucks in a sharp breath from her mouth, the thin, nearly invisible hairs on her arms and neck standing up. The familiar sound of the volleyball smacking the palm is loud, and the ball hitting the ground was equally as deafening. The female doesn't even realize she had stood up, the foldable chair clattering back at her action. But no one is paying attention to that, staring at the ball that rolled on the floor with their mouth hanging.
"Alright!" Kageyama yells out, clenching his fist in front of him in glee.
Hinata looks shocked that he was able to hit the ball, staring at his own palm in disbelief, a broad smile on his face. "UWAAAHHHH!! I HIT IT! I HIT IT WITH THIS HAND!!!"
Losing strength in her legs, Chiaki sinks to the floor in a squat, the heel of her palm pressing into her eyes. Shimizu is immediately by her side, worried for her. But the glassed female is taken aback as she sees that although the upper part of the silver-haired girl's face wasn't visible, her lips are curled up into a wide grin. Shimizu nearly flinches when Chiaki finally pulls her hands away from her face.
Chiaki's usually soft, drooping eyes seemed to be sharper, taking a predatory gleam as she stared at the court, not being able to hide the excitement that bubbled inside of her. She was almost positive that if she had blinked, she would have missed the whole thing. And if she saw correctly, Hinata...
"O-Oi... Just now, Hinata had his eyes closed..." Daichi spoke up, his words making everyone excluding Chiaki yell out in disbelief.
"H-Hey you! Why the heck did you have your eyes closed?!" Kageyama yelled as he pointed a finger at Hinata, who flinched, getting snapped out of his excitement.
As the two argued, Chiaki slowly grabbed the chair that she had knocked over, silently sitting back on it. She doesn't notice the look of concern Sugawara and Shimizu sends her way, Chiaki staring at the court with an unreadable look on her face. Eventually, Daichi notices as well, realizing the female was staring at Hinata and Kageyama with an expression he couldn't accurately read. She barely moves from where she sits even as the game concludes with Hinata, Kageyama, and Tanaka's team coming out as victors.
"-senpai! Aki-senpai! Are you okay?"
Chiaki blinks as Kageyama peers into her face, the raven-haired boy looking into her eyes in concern, beads of sweat running down his cheek, getting collected by a towel that wraps around his neck.
Kageyama's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as the female averted her eyes from him, tilting her head to the side, refusing to make eye contact with him. The older female had never done that to him before. Chiaki was a person who believed heavily in eye contact when speaking to another. But she had blatantly avoided looking at him, refusing to even acknowledge him.
"Aki-senpai, did you see us? Weren't we awesome with 'woosh!' and 'boom!' That was so fun!" Hinata pushed Kageyama aside as he leaped in the air in front of Chiaki, looking like an excited puppy with his flopping hair.
Seeing the small boy, Chiaki releases a little chuckle, a weak smile on her face, "yes Hinata-kun, that was very impressive. Next time, when you jump, try to lean your upper body a bit more forward. You jump high right now, but by improving your form, you'll go higher. And when you're receiving a spike, lower your hips a bit more and tuck your chin in, it'll be easier to control the ball."
Hinata blinks his large eyes, staring at Chiaki with his head tilted in confusion. "Aki-senpai, you awfully know a lot about volleyball? Are you also the manager like Shimizu-san?"
Chiaki freeze, feeling her mouth become dry as if someone stuffed cotton balls inside. Kageyama looks like he wants to strangle the shorter boy, his already sharp eyes narrowing.
But before Kageyama could do anything, a snicker makes all of their attention shift to the side.
Tsukishima has a water bottle in hand, his lip curling into a small smirk as he looks their way with an amused expression. "Of course, Hinata wouldn't know the Dove, huh? I'm not surprised, he didn't even know about the King."
The confusion Hinata feels deepens as he looks at Tsukishima, not noticing how Chiaki was stiff as a board next to him, her skin seeming to turn a bit pale. "The Dove? Is that another nickname?"
Tsukishima's smirk seems to deepen as he points a thumb at the silver-haired female who was slowly calming down, her lips forming a straight line.
"That's one of the nicknames she had. The Dove, U-17's number one female wing spiker in Japan. She's known to be the decade's female prodigy that was born in a family of volleyball players. But her serves and spikes gained her fame as the ace of her team."
At the information Hinata learns, his brown eyes sparkled as he looked up at Chiaki, not being able to notice the distress in her eyes.
Chiaki felt sick.

"Oi, something doesn't feel right," Taiga and Kouga chorused at the same time as they sat at the dining table, eating a late breakfast with their mother. They looked at each other and nodded. This uneasy feeling they felt at the same time was the proof they were right.
Minako stared at the twins in bewilderment, frozen in mid-bite, her rice that was held up by her chopsticks falling back into her bowl. Immediately she places the utensil down on the table, looking at her two sons, a bit off-put by them synching up almost too perfectly.
The twins had their eyebrows furrowed, their messy bed hair sticking up in weird places.
"Something upset Chi-chan," Taiga grumbles, placing his chopsticks down as he brings his hand to his chin, rubbing at it thoughtfully.
Kouga hummed in agreement, his grey eyes narrowing, "I think so too." The young man cracked his knuckles, rotating his neck as another crack echoed through the room. "Who do you think I have to beat up, Tai?"
"I don't know, but I'll make sure you don't get arrested, Kou."
Minako watched her sons with a blank look, a sigh leaving her lips. Secretly, she wondered if the twins had a built in signal inside their body that detected whenever Chiaki was distressed. If they said they did, she somehow wouldn't be surprised seeing how protective they were. Hiroto, why are you not here to help me control our sons? Or at least Minato, he's not irrational and has a firm leash on the twins...

"Achoo!"
Yamaguchi flinched as the tall male sneezed beside him. The freckled male became increasingly worried as Tsukishima paled, shivering in place, "Tsukki! Are you okay?! Are you catching a cold, do you want my jacket?" Yamaguchi questioned in panic, shifting around his friend in worry.
Tsukishima released another shiver, "you're loud, Yamaguchi. I'm fine, I just felt unusually cold right now," the blonde grumbled, rubbing the back of his neck in unease.

Hi, below is the first character stats for the twins! Do you like their character design? I hope you do! Honestly, Taiga reminds me of Tsukishima a bit, but I swear he's super gentlemanly to girls!

Fall 2019 Anime Season
Here’s what I’m watching:
Stand: My Heroes is an otome series that’s pretty and refreshing in that it stars an adult lady protagonist who has a career - she works as a “scout” for a new program that works to gather talented individuals (all handsome single men, of course) from various fields to solve drug-related cases. The art is nice and the music is above average, with really cool opening and ending themes. My biggest issue with the show is that it has way too many characters, many of whom look very similar. Honestly, for the first few episodes I could only tell some of them apart by their voice actors. Luckily the show has some very well known voice talent. It gets a bit easier as the show becomes a little more episodic, dealing with small groups of the men at a time. But still. If all of these guys were in the game, it must have been hell trying to get all the endings! The overall plot is a little vague but I do like that the heroine is independent and respected by the men on her team. There are a couple of the usual tsundere guys but they mellow out pretty quickly. The show is interesting and attractive to look at, but it would have benefited a lot from narrowing its focus and cutting down on the number of hot guys (now that’s something I never thought I’d type).
Ahiru no Sora is a new sports anime about basketball. It actually follows a similar plot setup to Hinomaru Sumo - a talented player starts at a new school and goes to join the club of his favored sport, only to find it overrun by violent delinquents whom he’ll have to defeat (via his sports skills) in order to officially join the club and start a team. The protagonists even share the same problem of being considered way too short to participate in the sport they love and also the fact that their ill mothers gave them encouragement. The biggest difference, however, is that Hinomaru was already a very accomplished and even somewhat famous sumo wrestler when the series begins, whereas Sora is talented but has never even played in a real basketball game, making him very much an underdog. He’s a likable character, as are the delinquents that gradually come around to playing basketball with him and cleaning up their acts. I was a little annoyed by the fact that there is a peephole the guys use to watch the girls changing into their uniforms. Not by the fact that it existed, because it’s actually kinda realistic that delinquent teenage boys would do something like that, but by the fact that Sora is shown this peephole in the first episode and is never seen doing anything to close it up despite becoming friends with one of the girls and him being presented as a moral, upstanding guy. I hope they address it in the future because it kinda bugs me. On the plus side, the main female character (there’s always one in any sports anime) is a very talented player on the girls’ basketball team, rather than the team manager or whatever. I like that she’s a player of the sport rather than just a fan or support character. Also, the fact that Sora’s main source of inspiration is his mom, who was a famous basketball player herself in her youth, is pretty cool. Overall, the show is enjoyable even if it feels a little overly familiar.
Hoshiai no Sora is a revelation. It feels like a very important moment for anime that will no doubt be talked about for years into the future. Be warned that I venture into possible spoilers territory here, though I don’t share any plot details. I started the series because I saw boys holding tennis rackets in the artwork, fully expecting “just another sports anime” (which is fine, because I love sports anime). What I got was a very big, very nice surprise. Hoshiai no Sora is a sports anime, in that it follows a sports team and spends some time showing training routines and matches with rival schools. But it’s also a realistic, nuanced, heartwarming, and often painfully traumatic coming of age story about the boys on the tennis team, most of whom have compelling back stories or home lives.  Almost every parent in the show is an absolute nightmare, to the point that when a non-terrible parent shows up, every commenter on the episode was immediately suspicious of them. It should be clear by now that there are some massive trigger warnings to apply to this show. There are rather graphic depictions of child abuse, from physical to verbal to emotional, and all of it is horrifying (and kudos to the show for recognizing that there are so many different forms of abuse and all of them are traumatic). Thankfully, the show is not all doom and gloom. In fact, the show is one of the sweetest, most uplifting, most touching series I’ve seen in years, mostly due to the fact that these traumatized kids are all so supportive of each other. They’re kind to each other, even if they bicker here and there about silly stuff. They defend each other from bullies. One character in particular goes to some rather extreme lengths to look out for his friend. It’s also very important to note that the show tackles issues I’ve legitimately never seen addressed in anime, at least not in such a respectful and tasteful way. One character in particular is first presented as gay (and it seems all the other characters are aware that this person is gay, and the tennis team will NOT be having your homophobic bullshit, thank you very much) but then is revealed to be non-binary/questioning their gender, and the show seriously spends almost an entire episode talking about this, about gender identity, with one character relating the story of the transgender man who practically raised him. An anime series actually, seriously, discussed these issues. As a straight, cisgender person, I can’t speak for how accurate all of this was, but judging by the reaction to the episode by folks in the LGBTQ+ community, I’m willing to assume the show did a great job. I’m also willing to bet that somewhere in Japan, there are young people watching this that desperately need to see it, that desperately need to hear the positive messages presented (protagonist Maki kindly gives encouragement and support to his non-binary friend, and at times it feels like he’s speaking to the audience). I know some of this stuff would be considered spoilers, but honestly, I feel like more people would give this anime a shot if they knew it featured all this awesomeness. The art is lovely. The music is great. This is a series that needs to be watched by as many people as possible. Don’t sleep on this one, please.
Boku no Hero Academia Season 4 is more of the same. I’ve already talked several times now about my issues with the series (how female characters are handled in general pretty much sums most of it up) and I’ve already talked about how much I enjoy the show despite those issues. This season introduces an interesting and imposing new villain in Chiaki, who has a cool design and power. I’m also pleased that the show seems to be making an attempt to actually let the female characters DO STUFF, as well as introducing some cool new lady heroes who actually have interesting powers. So... yeah. A good show got better. Special mention goes to new character Sir Nighteye, who is a perfect example of how voice casting can really make or break a character. I would have found him pretty boring if he wasn’t voiced by the supremely talented Shinichirou Miki, who brings all his various characters to life in such a vivid way, I’ve never come across one I didn’t like.
Special 7 falls into the “urban fantasy” genre, the kind we see a lot of in anime lately, with supernatural elements mixed in with modern life. In this case, we have races like elves and vampires living peacefully alongside humans in the modern world. The story follows a certain police unit made up of various fantasy races and humans formed to deal with a terrorist group called Nine who aim to bring back dragons (something about dragons used to rule the world or maybe terrorized the world, I don’t remember). There’s a nice mix of characters in the core team, many of whom will feel familiar. They’re still fun though, and their chemistry as a team and as friends is one of the main reasons to watch. I’m particularly fond of the vampire lady named Shikisai who uses a samurai sword and is, from what I can tell, the most physically badass member of the team. She also appears to have an adorably sweet home life with her husband (or boyfriend?) and is just generally a cool chick. The animation is okay and the music is above average. The plot has several mysteries that are slowly being revealed, but has enough humor to keep from getting too serious. Fairly low on my watch list, but still has a solid spot.
Psycho-Pass Season 3 is a show I was looking forward to. I still think season one was one of the best anime seasons in the past ten years. Season two was good but couldn’t really contend with season one. The movie was great. The OVA’s were great. I was pretty hyped for season three, and so far... eh. It’s okay. Honestly if it were a new show I’d probably rate it much higher, but as a continuation of a story like this, I’m finding it a bit lacking. At times it actually does feel like a new show. There are two entirely new protagonists, who are both interesting and likable, but neither immediately gripped me the way Akane and Kogami did in previous seasons. Some elements of the show seem to contradict, or at least stretch, the world-building that had already been established. New protagonist Arata has an ability that verges on supernatural (in a show that has never had supernatural elements at all). They try to explain it away as something “anyone can do” with enough practice, but that sounds ridiculous when you see his ability in use. We also see “abandoned” areas where there are apparently criminal groups just... living there. Doing whatever. I guess they’re supposed to be like Yakuza, which makes zero sense in this series. If you can escape the oppression of the Sibyl System by just walking across town to an abandoned area, why did a character in season one have to flee the country? It just seems to fly in the face of all the setup that came before. Overall, this season has a general feel that doesn’t gel well with the rest of the series. That being said, taken on its own, it’s still entertaining, with high production values that afford it smooth animation and excellent music. The stories so far have been fairly engaging, but they give off a vibe of “really well done fanfiction”. But whatever, I’d watch paint dry to get an occasional glimpse of Kogami.

Medieval/Fantasy Word Prompts
It took her a moment to realize precisely what her classmates were staring at. A moment ago, Sonia had been deep in conversation in the cafeteria with as many members of Class 77-B she and Chiaki could convince to sit with them, eagerly planning their next class outing and wanting their preferences on the subject without Miss Yukizome’s interference. As helpful as her teacher was, she had the tendency to elicit swearing from some students and shyness from others. So, it had been Chiaki’s idea to speak to everyone outside of the classroom, something Sonia had wholeheartedly agreed with.
Tumblr media
But as she pointed out the merits of both a theme park and beach excursions, two experiences the Ultimate Princess was eager to try for the first time, her classmates fell silent, looking past her smiling face and over her shoulder behind her. “Whatever is going on?” Sonia inquired, glancing from Saionji’s giggle behind her hand to Mikan’s wide eyes. But with none of them speaking up, she had no choice to shift her position in her chair, turning around to find a petite girl with pink pigtails sunk into a curtsy behind her. Sonia smiled wearily, setting down her pen upon her notebook to give the girl her full attention. For as much as she protested with her classmates to treat her as an equal, just ‘Sonia’ with no mention to her official title or talent if she could help it, the message hadn’t spread across the entirety of the main course. “Ah...thank you, but you really needn’t curtsy for me. At Hope’s Peak Academy, I am simply a normal student, like you. But I do not think we have met!”
Her classmates weren’t going to forget this anytime soon, some with harsher tongues and sharper memories than others. Sonia hoped that, at least in front of the newcomer, they might be able to keep their comments to themselves. Offering the girl both a bright smile and her extended hand to shake, it was only polite for her to introduce herself properly. “It’s lovely to meet you. My name is Sonia Nevermind, but please call me ‘Sonia.’”
