Hey I finally animated something!

This is a bit rough around the edges but I wanted to do something short and simple since I haven’t put something like this together in awhile. I’ve definitely learned a lot about the process for these sort of things and will definitely be doing more animations/animatics in a future.

Stole this from the infamous “hfth as vines” video, might even illustrate more of those clips at some point

Of course I want to finish another project first 🙃

Horse Girl AU (HGAU)! In which Hob busts a wild and abused centaur by the name of Dream out of the circus and attempts to earn that horse's trust. This is difficult since Dream hates humans and wants nothing to do with them. The two go on an adventure.

I post the comics in somewhat chronological order. On occasion I will jump back to add a new beat or scene I wasn't motivated to do at the time so this master post is nice for me to flesh out previous scenes or moments while still letting everyone read things sequentially. ENJOY!

Sorry I've been gone awhile guys, but I randomly decided to start a stupidly useless animatic no that one asked for at GODKNOWSWHAT time in the morning while I have my Finals kicking my arse. (And the fact that I'm an animation student means that most of my school-works are also animatic or storyboard based on top of my papers & presentations. WHYYY-) So yeah. Drawing for my #HHStargazersAU has been in the back burner for bit, but NOT abandoned!!! I assure you! For now, I'm fleshing out the lore of it more while I give ya'll a sneak peek of my current project as compensation. Something to look forward to I guess:

P.S. Vox is surprisingly REALLY easy to draw for me as this was my first try and I didn't even sketch! His expression is really fun for me.

When Ghost first awoken, he noticed his pot wasn't in Soap's room but in an office.

Ghost grumbled as he tried to wiggle himself free. The soil was dry, it hadn't been watered in awhile.

Where's Johnny? He promised he would stay with him until he came back. Ghost wanted his sergeant to be the first thing he saw not an empty office.

But Ghost understood why he wasn't here. He didn't blame him, just a tad disappointed. They were soldiers that could've been pulled at any minute. 

Ghost hopped off from his pot and shaked himself like a dog to get rid of the excess dirt that clung onto him.

He looked around and sat on the edge of the desk and waited for someone to come in. 

Sure enough, Price opened the door a few minutes later. 

"Price!"

The captain tensed and his head shot up, only relaxing when he sees the sprout waving at him.

Ghost lowered his arms and went quiet when he saw the captain.

Price's eyes were swollen and bloodshot, like he was crying. Looked like he had lost alot of sleep too from his eyebags.

Did something happen while he was out of commissison?

"Price whats wrong? Where's Johnny?"

Price tensed as he pursed his lips together in thought. He slowly shut his door and slowly walked towards Ghost.

Soon enough his knees hit the floor and his hands flew to hover over Ghost.

"Simon..."

Uh-oh thats not a good sign

"Soap..." Ghost's hands grabbed onto Prices pointer fingers to help ground him. Unknownly his hands were tightly gripping Prices fingers and trembling in nervousness.

"He's gone Simon" Price gasped out as sobs racked his body and he let his head thump onto the edge of the desk.

Ghost started to panic and grab onto the hair that hid under Price's hat. "Who's gone Price?!" He tugged onto the hairs.

Price seemly ignored him. "It was a mission gone wrong. Intel was wrong and they were ambused. At most their injuries weren't too servere but it came at a price."

"Price..."

"Soap..." Price's voice started to fail him as his crying robbed him of his breath.

"He's dead Simon." He finally managed to rasp out.

Ghost tugged harshly on the hairs in his grip. "NO! I dont believe you! Show me!"

Ghost let go of Prices hair as his head moved to look at him.

Suddenly they were at Soap's grave. Ghost couldn't tell when they had even left, the news had left him in a daze and now he was staring at a headstone with a name that he never wanted to see on it.

If Ghost could come back, then so could Soap.

He would return the grave the next day with a water can and a shovel that were his size and wait.

He waited for a sprout to grow from the dirt. Just in case, Ghost watered the dirt around the bural site to see if it would help.

But nothing happened, and that continued on over the week.

He was optimistic when grass started to grow around the headstone.

He continued to be hopeful when grass started to grow.

In his excitement, he even roped a pot and began to drag it daily to the grave for if Soap were to finally sprout he can quickly take him back to the base.

But as time passed, and the grass has continued to grow. No sprout was in sight.

It's been more than a month and any sprouts would been up and grown into a seedling by now.

The sun was setting and the night began to creep up. Ghost whimpered. "Johnny...?"

"You promised you would stay with me Johnny, so why aren't you here right now?" Tears began to leak from his eyes.

"Ghost..." Ghost turned to Price who was standing behind him.

"You can't keep doing this, this isn't healthy."

"But! But he can still come back, I did so why can't he?"

Price shook his head. "I wish that could happen too, but even if it did, he would be here right now."

"NO! Just a little more time. We just need to be patience with Johnny like we always have." Ghost argued.

"Simon..." Price bent down and reached for him.

Ghost made no move to fight him as his hand closed around his body and lifted him up.

"Soaps gone. He's not growing Simon." Price said.

Ghost looked back at the grave, eyes darting around the greenery searching for something. His gaze turned back to Price when he didn't find what he was looking for.

He deflated in his hand, head hanging low and tears started to stream and damp his skin.

"He's really gone isn't he." Voice low and thick with sorrow.

Price nodded sadly and moved to put him close to chest.

Ghost whimpered. "I didn't even get to tell him goodbye. Didn't get to even tell Johnny that I loved him."

Price let out a shuttering sigh as he craddled and comforted his distraught lieutenant. "I know son... I know..."

Hi I’m crashing in from Twitter (and YouTube) because I have too much to say to be contained. The most recent animatic found me at an interesting time, I found it a little late and I think I really needed to come across it when I did. It’s nothing short of amazing as always. You can feel the effort and love put in practically seeping out of it, it makes me so unbelievably happy to see your work getting the appreciation it deserves. I’ve said this before, time to do it again, the amount of sheer talent you have is astounding and what you choose to put it into is jarringly beautiful. Reading some of the comments, it’s incomprehensible the impact you’ve had on others, myself included. Thanks for discussing these kinds of things. People value not only your work but you as a person. You’re amazing, really. Please take care and always know just how much you mean to those around you.

Is there anything else you’d be willing to share concerning the storyline within both AUs? I remember the start of the first one like it was yesterday and it’s amazing how far it’s come in terms of both storytelling and animation, it really catches my attention how you were able to take specific character flaws from the canon and showcase the progression of them into something much more drastic.

It took me awhile to properly respond to this ask because I'm not really good at receiving compliments about my work beyond the generic "thank you" but from the very bottom of my heart: thank you. These are just fandom works, and every animatic I've made so far are just my way of processing really complicated emotions I've dealt with throughout my life. I'm very humbled and happy to see that so many people out there can see themselves in my art one way or another. Regarding the AU stuff in "The Drug In Me" "Lost" "Numbers" and "Far Removed," they basically just follow the same storyline from each character's perspective. Zim is confronted with the fact that his "mission" is null and that he is an exile forsaken by the Irken Empire. Dib and Gaz are a little older, Dib has lost interest/motivation to expose Zim as an alien and becomes overwhelmed with his own mental health struggles, develops a restriction/purging disorder, Gaz realizes that she's taken out her own contempt for humanity out on her brother and questions herself, etc. My intention wasn't exactly making them "in-character" as it was "how can I effectively tell a story through animatic form" and it's been a great motivator art-wise to keep pushing myself. Not being 100% satisfied with your work shouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Again, thank you!

It's quite scuffed but it took me awhile so I wanted to share it here!

keep reading for alts and explanations of the choices I made!

OK so first, Martyn's role was never an after thought, I always planned him to be "observing" the main picture because he isn't really in any duos, at least none that have made it to the end, also he's the only one in his lore who is being harassed by the Watchers!

Border: the poppies and lilacs are for grian and scar, they were actually the first characters I had in mind when I was first planning out this piece in my head! The snow is because of pearl freezing herself in double life, the crystal's because that just to seem most of people's thing for last life/winner scott.

Pearl: I was going to make her part dog and scott part cat, but cat didn't really fit him and I really liked the moth pearl designs I had seen so I made her a moth. I had decided I wanted to show the astronomical signs for the winners, and so I chose what is supposed to be a weird axe, mainly because I really liked people's moon scythes for her, however I wanted to incorporate her most infamous weapon.

Scott: The main "big" decision for him was to make his sign, the stars, an arrow mainly because I wanted him and pearl to parallel, and because of what might be his most infamous weapon.

Grian: I wanted him and scar to parallel so I decided that they would have poppies and lilac, just in different places. I made him birb because. I got the idea for his shawl mainly because of @cherrifire's thumbnail for the third life compilation and then I thought it would be a great place to put not only a sun reference, but a watcher reference.

Scar: I'm not sure how obvious but I gave him real tears while scott and pearl have fake ones, this is because pearl and scott are supposed to be more stain glass window esq and their tragedy for when they won was, quite obviously, a past season and scar's is from this very season. The reason he is even crying to begin with is because he finally is reunited with grian in the "winner's club". Grian isn't crying mainly because I'd say his character has "moved on" and is putting those days behind him so he can focus more on helping out the life members. decided to give his shawl my favorite of his signs proposed, the earth. Tbh I don't think there is a particular reason except for the fact that a few animatics convinced me and I like the aesthetic of it.

Martyn: while his role and pose in general wasn't an after thought, his sign was. I had gotten to his flat colors and was like "oh. shit.", as to my horror I realized I had forgotten to add any signs of, his sign so I just decided to throw it onto the back, had I not forgotten, it probably would have been an earing. Also I chose mars because that's the only one I've really heard for him, and because of the roman god war.

If anyone has read all this thank you so much 😭😭 overall I'm oddly conflicted with this piece because it was quite a lot for what I usually do and I think a good bit I did really well, at least for me, however I also think I rushed a few bits to much, especially martyn :/ oh well!

First animatic in awhile and I had the idea of What if Ahsoka ended differently? I remember before the show came out some people had theorized Ahsoka herself might die in the series and I thought I’d make an animatic if that had happened.

You have my sympathies for being familiar with the DEH soundtrack. I first encountered Good For You as part of an animatic for a completely different fandom and accidentally fell in love with the song ><. I looked up the play itself and was like NOPE, but now I’m stuck with the song haunting me forever…

this is basically what happened to me, Good For You and For Forever were everywhere for awhile. I went and looked up the plot because of how many of the For Forever animatics were for gay ships......... I was disappointed LMAO

I think my favorite part of the movie being announced was how many people I saw at once post some equivalent of "Dear Evan Hansen is about WHAT" on social media haha

What is your Yuusona’s dynamic? I just think that would be cool to see since I love hearing your ideas & your ideas on dynamic with your sona. Just makes me happy. ^u^

Hey Shea~ My Yuusona's dynamic is actually pretty canon compliance and just sprinkled in with little bits of personal stuff which have some evidences in My Intro post

From the name Antoinette Seiu Doodles, majority of the characters know them as Aoi Yuuki (their pen name) and in turn, they get called Yuu(ki)/Prefect majority of the time.

But only the first years call them as Aoi (they know their full name is Antoinette Seiu) but as you can notice, Jade and Rook are the only people in the list to call them as Seiu (their second name) because they are the people who are most likely to know about this second name, without Aoi telling them

They have differing relationships in regards to how I make content of them!

In general; Most of it is platonic! But in some cases, I would make romantic scenarios of characters that I like!

This was long due but I haven't thought of what I was going with this, so it took awhile of thinking and yea.....

I asked my friends to give me a list of who would have a crush on me, who they think would have a crush on me, and who I would end up dating! (from twst and non twst friends)

As for a complete stranger, I'm honestly not sure!! There's just so much good art and other creativity that I've come across, that it's hard to say. The closest thing I think of, is, well, I suppose I wouldn't call them a complete stranger, but @cosmicriff created this amazing Invader Zim animatic based on the script and voice acting of an unmade episode. It's incredible and hilarious and everything I ever needed in life.

As for a friend/mutual, I think we can all agree that @drawthething/@drawthethingdoppelganger makes some of the best art in the Bob's Burgers community, hands down. I was going to make a separate post about this, but she could be an illustrator for a children's book, I'm serious. If I could one day get my hands on a book that DT helped illustrate, it would probably be the best day of my entire flipping life. It's so hard to choose, but my favorite thing she created might either be the AJR Gene she made as a gift to me, or the Boblin Comm she did for me, because come on, it was the cutest stinking thing on planet earth. The way they're looking at each other has me giggling and kicking my feet every time. Their expressions are just so cute and soft.

As for a tangible friend, my best friend, Matilda (again, not her real name for privacy, pffffft), has written some of the best things ever. We collaborated on a huge writing project, which is a Gravity Falls fic. I'm really hoping to be able to finish it one day, because that would be great. She's such a great friend and fantastic writer. Honestly, she reminds me a lot of DT. If Matilda is my writing friend, then I consider DT my artist friend❣️

As for me?? Sweating as little, 'cause now I have to appreciate myself. I'm not actually sure, but one of my new favorite pieces was the recent Huskerdust Loser, Baby artwork I made. I wasn't sure how it was turning out when I was making it, and then it ended up looking really nice. Another one I'll mention is probably my Gene as Wybie Lovat from Coraline piece, because I thought it was very cute, especially with the cat on his shoulder. I also put an actual background there for the first time in awhile. Okay, I didn't actually draw it myself, but still.
