The shift from G1 First Aid to IDW First Aid is like… I dunno, it’s like seeing a cute animal and then getting your fingers nearly bitten off by said animal, or finding a bug that looks cute but ends up having scary fangs/mandibles and can fly, like, really really fast.

G1 First Aid wears a mask because he’s far too cute not to.

IDW First Aid wears a mask for the same reason, but also wears one because without it, he’d probably bite too many people and have to be escorted off of the Lost Light.

my (least) favourite thing about combiner teams in transformers media is that Hasbro only picks ONE member of the team and puts them in the media, (by media i mean shows, comics are better, kinda)

first aid in literally anything, don’t get me wrong i love Aid as much as i love the other protectobots but he’s in so much more media then the others it’s infuriating

actually i’m gonna be honest i think it’s only those three that get to escape Hasbros combiner jail

and before you say anything blades in rescue bots doesn’t count bc they basically rewrite his character, i love him tho so it’s ok ig

anyways thanks for letting me rant, and don’t take any of this to heart, its just me complaining about nonsense + i’ve never read any of the comics bc im poor as shit so i could be wrong 🚶‍♀️

Blades isn't sure if First Aid is still alive. After Groove died, the bond became chaotic and muddled- he's not sure who's thoughts and dreams and nightmares he gets anymore, if they're in real time or just echoes. He's learned to tune them out, when he once believed it unthinkable.

But in moments like this, Blades is sure he's alive.

Because it's First Aid's voice screaming in his processor as he tries to patch a torn fuel line in Heatwave's torso. Because of course it's Heatwave. Again.

"Would it kill you to develop some self-preservation skills?" Blades snarls when Heatwave flinches, nearly reversing all his hard work. "I swear to Primus, it's once a week! How are you not dead?"

"We wouldn't live to be millions of years old if were weren't at least a little resilient," Boulder points out from where they're doing damage control, and Blades has never before wished such violence on the bot.

Sparking wires, Blades! Focus on the issue at hand! First Aid's voice centers him, and Blades takes a deep vent and wiggles his rotors. Boulder's more useful conscious right now, anyways. Keep those out of the way of the fuel line- mixing those is BAD BAD BAD.

No shit, Sherlock, Blades thinks ruefully, but his rotors wiggle again, a little pleased he's had a reason to use that phrase.

"Aren't you glad you get the practice?" Heatwave offers in strained voice, not bothering to look up at Blades. "You've gotten so much better lately."

"I'd rather practice new techniques before I try them out on you," Blades snaps back, trying not to preen at the praise. Heatwave's trying to distract him from being mad, and Blades is not going to let him get away with it.

You are getting better, First Aid's voice offers, and Blades relaxes into the familiar tone. Real or not, it's nice.

He turns his attention back to the sparking wires and gets lost in his work.

　　— just some small household activities to do with the bots <3 these are headcannons ,, there’ll be scenarios in a separate post to these tho ! :3

    - hound + folding clothes

| • hound has always found your clothing interesting ,, even if theres never really anything interesting about it

| • cybertronians dont have clothes to put on when they get cold ,, or to wear when they want to show off a new look ,, or for different sportive activities

| • it intrigued him ,, how you could easily change your outer look and find a new one

| • the most cybertronians had with that was mods and paint jobs ,, maybe a different limb if they got injured

| • he isnt too sure how to fold socks or shirts so you let him fold your pants whilst you do those

| • no matter how many times you show him how to fold socks hes still amazed and when he tries to do it he somehow fails

| • hound likes how they all look neat put up and folded ,, how it takes up little space no matter how many clothes you have

    - first aid + cooking

| • he only asked you to show him how to cook because he sees you do it often

| • its a foreign thing to him ,, after all energon is liquid and if its not than its crystal like and inedible

| • not only that but first aid wants to do something nice for you which he cant due to him always being in the medbay ,, and even when hes off of work you're usually asleep

| • it gives him time alone with you that usually results in no interruptions ,, him growing closer to you ,, and a wonderful bonding and learning experience

| • on days you accidentally sleep in he usually makes you breakfast so you dont miss it or have to worry about being late

| • do compliment him :( he loves it and it makes him happy

    - drift + dishes

| • he would find you doing your dishes one day ,, after you didnt text him after some time ,, so he would go find you in your room doing your dishes

| • he'd question you about them ,, since cybertronians only have cups and cubes to clean and even then it doesnt take too long

| • drift would offer to help ,, using his mass-displaced form and help with rinsing drying the dishes off so the job would get done faster

| • whilst in the midst of focus ,, you may get an idea and decide to splash a little water at him

| • little did you know that would start a little war between you two ,, with you both splashing water back forth at each other

| • its safe to say that the ground ,, counter ,, and both of you are soaked afterwards

    - rewind + gardening

| • he offers to help you when he finds you taking care of some plants you've brought aboard the lost light ,, something about oxygen and carbon dioxide

| • he doesnt remember too much of what you said about it ,, just that you have them

| • rewind has a lot of knowledge in his database ,, though theres not a lot of organic things in there since he's dedicated his life to dominus ambus in a way

| • he'll be interested ,, standing over you as you pot the plant ,, switching the soil and putting a bit of fertilizer in the pot

| • rewind will ask questions about it ,, camera rolling to store away the information in his database

| • he'll learn about them ,, that they make oxygen from carbon dioxide ,, how its a cycle between you and the plant

| • since you breath in oxygen and breath out carbon dioxide ,, how the plant takes in carbon dioxide and releases oxygen ,, its somewhat interesting to him in a way

| • he'll definitely help if you let him ,, feeling how foreign the soil is under his digits is and how mushy it feels when watered

| • its quite the learning experience for him

You know what would make the Transformers in a Who Framed Rodger Rabbit Earth even crazier?

A bot is born there but as a Toon.

No one knows how it happened but a random cartoon vehicle someone got intact Allspark energy and came to life. Pure uncanny valley feeling for both factions in my personal opinion. The toon bot can turn into vehicle but operates nowhere close to normal.

Headlights easily shift into cartoony eyes, a large mouth disguised as a front bumper, and use their tires/wheels like hands n feet. Even their Spark acts fucking weird! Ratchet would faint if cartoony eyes and a mouth suddenly popped up on a Toon Bot's spark chamber just to sass him.

Toon Spark: This better be for medical reasons Doc cause patient/doctor relationships are a big no-no.

A Toon Bot would honestly freak out the TFP iterations the most. Especially Buckethead

May I raise the stakes?

What if real-life Toons (and Earth lifeforms in general) existed because of a synchronization effect between Earth/Gaea (born from comatose Unicron) and a Primal Artifact/Allspark from Primus?

And I say this because of Benny the cab.

Benny would be very much their weird space in Uncanny Valley because you already described a lot of the things that would freak out the Cybertronians.

While Cybertronians aren't strangers to transformation sequences, they are very much rooted having at least two modes: alt-mode and root-mode.

Monoformers have much stigma against them as they, either willingly, by medical complications, or natural means, challenge the foundation of their society.

To make it even more unsettling, I propose that mechanical Toons exude spark energy but have no spark.

Sparks are a fundamental organ in Cybertronian biology. It can be physically manipulated and scientifically studied. Toons don't have that real-life and tangile certainty of a soul.

They're more aligned with Earth lifeforms. Yes, we have hearts. But we have heart transplants.

Cybertronians don't have an equivalent of that. There's a process to save a spark by removing it (and the brain module) to a new frame, but there's nothing to be done should both be guttered and destroyed.

Just imagine cyborg Toon with all the bells and whistles got crushed in a skirmish because some mech thought it was a newfound thingmabob, just for the pieces to wail out for help or flirt with Ratchet/Hoist/First Aid and the mech is having an internal mental breakdown.

"Gosh, doc, I wouldn't have taken ya to be a philosopher. Tee-hee." Que a disembodied hand twirling a stray coil from the damaged cavity. It sparks, and smoke forms little heart-shaped puffs.

Ratchet/Hoist/First Aid are holding an equally disembodied helm that inexplicably gained eyelashes to flutter optics: What the merciless Pits is going here!
