Arsonist Regulus.

They stood beside the lake and watched the firefighters putting the fire out. They all squirmed when McGonagall came to stand in front of them and glared. 

“I am almost certain that one of you, if not all of you, had something to do with this.” Her eyes were on Sirius. 

Remus started fiddling with the red and gold friendship bracelet on his wrist. Sirius's hand reached over and covered his own, stilling the nervous fingers. Sirius turned his charm on Minerva, keeping his hand on Remus as though it was normal. 

“Minnie, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it wasn’t me.”  Sirius’s thumb brushed the soft underside of Remus’s wrist. Remus felt a shiver go down his spine and he had to try hard to keep his pounding heartbeat from giving him away.

“Alright everybody, the fire is out. Please return to your cabins, and we’ll see you bright and early for a treasure hunt.” Albus spoke to all the congregated campers and leaders. 

“I will figure out who is responsible,” Minerva narrowed her eyes again at the four from Gryffindor cabin. However, her eyes did soften at Remus. He hadn’t been there that long for her to think he’d had anything to do with it. She strode away from them to talk with Albus and the firefighters.

“Come on,” Sirius started towards their cabin, dragging Remus along with him. 

They piled onto Sirius’s bed this time. Sirius pulled Remus onto the bed beside him. 

“Stop looking so worried Pete. We didn’t leave anything for them to think it was us.” James tried to reassure the nervous boy. 

“Yeah, Petey. The only thing we left behind was the tin box and that was just a cheap thing we found in the supply cupboard.” Sirius joined in. “Besides, all the evidence will have burned up.” Remus couldn’t help it, he snorted, which set off the others. Soon they were all giggling. 

Sirius reached over to the little bedside table and opened the cupboard. He sat back up with a packet of Mars bars in his hand and started handing them out. Remus bit into the gooey treat and smiled happily. He wiggled his foot as the chocolate, caramel and nougat melted onto his tongue. He saw Sirius cock his head at the movement out of the corner of his eye. Remus stilled the movement and looked down, trying to ignore Sirius’s gaze.

Sirius laid back onto his pillow and stretched his legs out into Remus’s lap. He began slowly wiggling his feet back and forth like Remus had been a moment before. Remus blinked down at his lap, frozen. 

“So treasure hunt tomorrow, what do we think that entails?” Sirius asked the group. Peter had calmed down now that he had chocolate. 

“Last year they hid the clues around the lake, it’ll probably be in the forest,” Peter said around a mouthful of chocolate. 

“Yeah, but that’s what they did the year before,” James said thoughtfully. “Plus you burnt down half the forest Pete,” James added, chuckling. 

“James,” Peter whined. 

“I’m only teasing Pete. There’s still plenty of trees out there,” James guffawed as Peter grumbled under his breath and went to sit on his own bed, pulling a magazine out from under his pillow and hiding behind it. James moved back to his own bed as well, putting his earphones in and turning on some music. Remus waited for Sirius to move his feet so he could get up as well, but he didn’t. 

He turned to look at Sirius, but Sirius had put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. Remus put his hand gently on Sirius’s leg, getting ready to move them out of the way, when Sirius’s eyes snapped open and stared straight into Remus’s. Remus froze again.

James would say he’s pretty good being under pressure. He is the captain of the 156, his team looks to him in every emergency. He’s one of the only fire captains to be recommended by the whole fire house. It’s when things happen back to back that he really doesn’t understand even when things are going down is when it becomes.. difficult.

It was a regular day. Or as regular as being a firefighter can be. If someone asked him how one day, one emergency could change his life forever? James wouldn’t know where to begin.

hiii! oh man not you remembering project Casanova Remus (aka slutty on the outside but sad n depressed on the inside Remus) dfjsf.... that was a while ago truly so I'm surprised anyone remembers, but also I did blabber on about it for months on end while it was consuming my brain so. fair enough! I won't make any promises about it being published anytime soon but it has been on my mind again recently so who knows.

but okay if you are adamant on me exposing the ridiculous amount of unfinished WIPs in my drive to the world... who am I to ignore that? answer under the break (these are all wolfstar, btw)

I have one WIP that I'm currently actively writing, which is my fairytale/folklore AU that I spoke about HERE. It's going to be a long chaptered fic, fantasy themed with knight Remus, very plot-driven, but I won't reveal more than that because that would already spoil things! I have it entirely outlined and 30k written so far, and I'm really prioritising this in hopes I can start publishing somewhere in 2025.

I have three WIPs that are entirely outlined and are partly written, but that are on the back burner while I focus on the fairytale fic. These are: 1. casanova Remus — I spoke about this HERE (incl. snippet). I have 30k written for this and it's entirely outlined, and I am hoping to continue it someday. It's a modern day college AU, english lit student Remus x art student Sirius where Remus is... pretty much just a slut, but he has /reasons/ for it. the fic will have a lot of smut and explore desire and lust, but with focus on an undercurrent of vulnerability and repressing emotions and trauma. 2. dog fic — I have 15k written for this and it's entirely outlined, but I don't think I ever spoke about this bc it was supposed to be my entry for a fest I had to drop out of. it's a story about a grieving Sirius who helps Remus babysit/dogsit his family. it's about grief and loneliness, and allowing yourself to love again after losing someone, but it's also joyful. I want to continue this at some point, but it's pretty heavy to write so I need to be in the right headspace. 3. club fic — I spoke about this HERE (incl. snippet). I have 15k written and it's entirely outlined. this is probably the one that haunts my headspace the most; I think about this idea soo much and I definitely want to write it at some point. it's an established relationship story where Remus bumps into an old friend in the club, and relays the story of their relationship to them. one for the loser/wet wipe Remus truthers among us.

then I have four WIPs that are partly written but very low on the priority list. they are: 1. 9-1-1 AU — I spoke about this HERE. we have 15k written and it's entirely outlined. I probably won't ever finish this, tbh, because I co-wrote it with my roommate/bff and it feels weird continuing without her. besides, this would be a massive undertaking on my own and become a monster of a fic, so, definitely a challenge. but who knows; maybe one day... it was a lot of fun. 2. jealousy fic — I wrote this in late 2022 when I just got back into the fandom, and it's... not great, so it needs a lot of editing and re-jigging. but I like the concept, so I might pick it back up one day! it has 15k written, and is about Sirius exploring his jealousy in seeing Remus with a boyfriend, and having a consequent gay awakening. 3. scotland fic — I wrote 6k words in one day of this random idea I had, and I still quite like it. it's meant to be pretty short so this one might see the light of day at some point. it's about maintaining a relationship while living in a very conservative, homophobic village in Scotland and having to sneak around. 4. wedding photographer fic — I have 12k of this written and a few random outlining notes. love the idea but this is definitely low on the priorities list. about wedding photographer Remus getting his dream job, and his supportive boyfriend joining him for the ride, aka just 100% pure fluff.

then there are a few ideas I have randomly bouncing around in my brain, including a Rupaul's Drag Race AU, a Wolfstar raising Harry fic, a soulmate AU that doubles as a rebel fic, a fic with a "blind date" during a solar eclipse, and a House in the Cerulean Sea AU. but hey, ideas are always coming and going so who knows what will pop up or be cast aside! as I mentioned in the original "interview" post, I am very critical of my writing and an extreme perfectionist, so while it's fun to share these ideas and WIPs with you all I won't make any promises about which ones will eventually make it to AO3, or when. but I am always tinkering around in the background and one of my resolutions for 2025 is to try and be less self-critical and just post stuff, so :) I hope this kind of answered your question and that it wasn't too ramble-y, lol! sending love as always and thanks for asking <3

Another RWRB, this time scratching my itch to write in the detective/spy thriller genre. In the spirit of the Will Darling Adventures, and featuring truly inspired literary works by Henry, and an Alex who is perhaps not to be trusted. But then again, maybe Henry needs a little chaos in his life.

And finally, a PSA, written as much as a reminder to myself, as to anyone else who feels like their writing doesn't quite fit anywhere:

When I posted my first fanfic (wolfstar), no one read me. We’re talking like four kudos in a fandom where fics go viral. And at some point I thought, maybe I should attempt to write things that people actually want to read? 

I love writing deeply romantic stories, but I love stories like True Romance or The Shape of Water. Two people who are perfect for each other, but one is mute and the other is a fish god from Brazil. One stabs Tony Soprano in the foot with a corkscrew and the other communicates with an hallucination of Elvis. 

Finally, I found the Carry On fandom who enthusiastically embraced my Baz who excelled "at both deep-throating cock and scorching motherfuckers like a vengeance demon in floral Tom Ford." And then finally, finally, almost a year after it posted, people in the wolfstar fandom started reading Blood Sugar Sex Moony. Now, almost every day, I get kudos and (sometimes delightfully unhinged) comments on my wolfstar too. 

I don’t imagine I’ll ever be really, really popular, but I’ve found a group of readers — or they’ve found me — who appreciate the way my brain works, and little old high school me, who always believed that the best love stories are the strangest ones, knows that they are not alone. 

So my PSA to everyone out there who feels like Nora Ephron trapped in David Lynch trapped in Wes Craven — or whatever your unmarketable combo may be — keep on doing you. One day you will find your people 🩷

Also, thank you to everyone who read, kudos-ed, and commented on my fics, and a special shout out to all of the wonderful friends I've made in the Carry On fandom. Y'all have brightened my 2024.

I started a new game in the sims (old game here). I replaced Peter with Lily, so this is going to contain wolfstar and jily, but focuses on wolfstar

Remus and Sirius are getting to know each other. Sirius thinks Remus is really hot, 9/10. Remus thinks Sirius is passable, 5/10. Remus flirted with Sirius, Sirius insulted his mother, and when Remus flirted with him again, he got turned down

Sirius is very excited to be interacting with a werewolf, though! Meanwhile, James is exercising and Lily is reading in bed

Sirius is chatting with someone online, banging his head on the keyboard. Remus is reading in James’s bed

Lily and Sirius are the first ones to make friends. Also at this point I can say I have made the executive decision to pair Remus and Sirius to each other. Good luck to Sirius, though, Remus has commitment issues

James is already on level 7 of the firefighting career, and he's only worked for 9 days. He was chatting with a coworker, after which he was creeped out. I'm not surprised, that coworker has seemed to have a bad attitude ever since James started that job

While I wasn't looking, James and Lily had sex for the first time. It was a disappointing experience

Lily was so spooked by Remus howling at the full moon that she walked into the next room and fainted. This is extremely funny because she had to go outside and walk across the veranda to get there (the house's floor plan is a mess because they're too poor for a proper renovation)

Nothing of much interest has happened, except James’s nicer coworker has quit her job at the fire station to become a performer, and during the full moon it turned out that she's also a zombie now. What the hell happened to her?

Sirius and Remus shared a kiss under the mistletoe. It was very cute

Sirius cried because his plants died. Then he cried about it again later. And for some reason he's wearing his formal clothes. Is it related? Only he knows

Remus likes to look out the windows. He'll wander from window to window to look out of them. He did it for hours when I didn’t stop him

Sirius is awed every time he spends time with Remus because he's excited about spending time with a werewolf. They went on another date. It was a success

He immediately pisses off his new neighbour by waking him and his toddler up at 2 am and the adage 'nothing good happens after 2 am' seems to continuously be ringing true, until it isn't.

I remember the first time a 911 gif set popped up on my tumblr. I remember seeing these two firefighters and this kid. I remember there being a shop tagged.

I remember thinking how cute it was. I remember being filled with so much fondness over what I assumed was a canon side couple in some popular show I haven’t watched.

I remember learning they weren’t actually together despite those gifs being actual scenes that took place. I remember reading my first fanfic. I remember watching the show for the first time.

I remember assuming this would be like any other ship. Another version of destiel, another version of wolfstar, another version of Jake Peralta, another version of any queer ship or queer character that was never actually canon. I remember assuming I would never actually get anything.

And now we have bi buck. We have a canon character that is queer. And it’s not just any character, this is a MAIN character, a WHITE character, a MALE character, a FAN FAVORITE character. This is a tough guy character. This is the guy who’s middle age and has big muscles and was introduced as basically a frat boy who always slept around. This is a blueprint straight character but He Wasn’t. Not in our eyes and finally, finally someone is listening to us.

But it’s not another Castiel who has to die for that to happen. It’s not another queer character who can’t be allowed to have happiness.

Guys, this is history, this is queer media history happening before our very eyes.
