I’m still processing this weekends #scenestudy lab with #joanscheckel and our new family of talented filmmakers. Over the last few years, I’ve never/barely touched #acting. Ive has a deep seated fear of it. In grad school, I acted in a classmates directing exercise, and I heard from my friends/classmates that the professor said I was the flattest actor she/he’d ever seen. This weekend, Joan brought me into the scene we workshopped on #springst #dtla where I played the #mother in a scene of #motherabandonment. Yes, as my fellow #labmate, Cody described - it was “serendipitous.” It was certainly all surreal. #sophiethefilm was shot 5 years ago. It was fascinating to play the mother. And it is still my dream to go back to #Hongkong and continue shooting the film, over many years. It’s been a whirlwind of a couple months with my move to #sanfrancisco. Had a crazy few days in #losangeles with the #TV #directing #editing workshop and session with @awd_directors and @nbc @nbcunitips, my first major #pitchmeeting with a new, but exciting company and #studio, and of course, @filmmakinglabs. But, I was happy to spend an evening with some of my close friends in #losangeles #highlandpark #eaglerock for some dinner @joyonyork and #bowling @allstarlaneseaglerock. It’s been 3 years since i took the #actionlab. I’m so happy and excited to get back into this with my #featurefilm im developing in mind. I can’t wait to feel and recognize my #innerlife. This weekend, I took the @filmmakinglabs and it has changed my paradigm and way of approaching storytelling. Already, the script I'm writing #Spoken, is on a more clear path! I have been looking for a class That speaks to directors, as I have audited lots of acting classes, which is approaching it from a different angle. Until this weekend.
