ok now it is time to air my grievances with severance s2, a season of television i thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to every week. s2 is mr milchick putting on a spectacular drumline Just For Me and what do they get for it. trapped behind a vending machine (readmore cut) while i batter them with a trombone. classic ingratitude.
my umbrella gripe btw is that showrunner dan erickson's figurative innie is actually Ricken and he won't admit it and until he does we are never going to see the show that severance Could Be. like ricken is a pretentious nightmare who is insulated from the consequences of his own actions. he's also got a fascinating way with words (fond, derogatory) and a heart that yearns for love and he is really trying to Say Something. ok well that's what this show is. accept this and reconcile with yourself Dan Erickson (or should I say DAN: SO RICKEN??? boom anagrammed!!) or keep displacing all your sins onto that one character and doom this show to eternal alienation from its own core themes.
i think we can all admit that pacing in this season sucks and they had enough time to do it better. and the thing is imo if you were really committed to storytelling you would have to cut some of the most fun/fanservicey individual scenes of the season. i can see why you might choose not to do that! like for instance the baby goats thing. i get it. it looked soooo fun to film with the baby goats. visually the pasture room is great. gwendoline christie is a gift. it's fun! but it doesn't actually uhhh serve the story to spend all that time on it. it doesn't shed any new light. "they are sacrificing the goats because lumon is a creepy cult." we KNOW they are a creepy cult. "lumon thinks innies are non-people who don't experience love and care, but they DO experience love and care and that motivates them." brother we know that too!! "ok but wasn't it all worth it for that heavyweight christie/olafsson finale fight scene." i will concede this point. that ruled.
pacing problems never worse than in "sweet vitriol," an episode i actually enjoyed more than everyone else, but it didn't need to be a standalone and in fact was badly served by the format!! many in your audience have forgotten to give a shit about ms cobel so the revelation that she invented severance doesn't hit for them. splitting her storyline up and dividing it among episodes starting earlier would have kept her more consistently in play and opened up space for underserved character arcs, like dylan aND IRVING—
—because as much fun as burving demon threesome is it is so underbaked and wastes one of the show's coolest characters. WHO IS IRVING. WHY IS HE SLEEPERAGENTING LUMON. you're gonna put him on a train to the farm for old dogs and be like "all was well because love is more important than revenge :)" ??? like sure but again it DOESN'T HIT because it doesn't require the viewer to struggle with WHAT IRVING'S DRIVING FORCE ACTUALLY WAS. and he doesn't even get to kiss. let him kiss!!!!
I actually think having reintegration move at an unpredictable pace and having its side effects be unclear is not the worst idea, and in fact as an allegory for like, real life healing and becoming a Whole Person i maybe even prefer it. but the pacing problems move it beyond "this process is unfolding gradually and erratically" into "we have forgotten this is happening" and it just didn't have to be that way, man. side note there is something fascinating going on with helly's uncomfortable, unwilling quasi-reintegration from the innie side! from the moment she finds herself in front of that gala to hearing jame say he doesn't love his daughter, she is accepting the fact that SHE IS HELENA. she is thinking about how She as a first-person experiencer of the world could find herself in helena's position (which helena—who is less of a grownup than her innie—is still unable/unwilling to do). i've read some criticism of that final scene (which i loved btw) that was like "helly's goal has always been to dismantle lumon, why would she give that up for A Man? wouldn't she push mark s. out the door and be like BURN THIS PLACE TO THE GROUND?" sure, but i think that doesn't engage with helly's arc either—which is not about revolutionary conviction OR about A Man but about about discovering that SHE wants to live, she doesn't want to hang herself in the elevator out of spite, she wants her half-a-life even if it means a degree of complicity with her evil outie. on the other hand, does the WRITING actually engage with helly's arc? or am i getting all that from britt lower??
speaking of making actors do all the work: we as a show are going to grapple with corporate racism and the Black experience :) no we're not :) or are we? ;) you're welcome :)))
i don't love gemma's backstory boiling down to Woman Want Baby. "Greatest Agony for Woman Is Want Baby and Can't Have Baby" is a storyline that makes me personally grimace. but i accept that that's a personal preference and honestly dichen lachman sells her character/s so beautifully that i didn't even remember to bitch about it when i originally wrote this. i just remembered it and had to edit this post because god forbid i don't complain about something. (although. now that i AM complaining about it: putting someone through three years of torture and then being like "we'll prove this fresh consciousness is unaffected by suffering by going all the way back to the baby thing, because 'no baby,' not years of torture and isolation, is the fundamental pain at the root of this woman's being," is...........a choice!!!!! it's a choice. and if it were a deliberate narrative choice, like if it were about how the lumon ideology fundamentally conceives of women, that would be one thing! but i just don't think it is.)
did i mention i really liked this season and had a great time. i did. i am bitching about it because i have a fun time rotating it in my mind. maybe it's actually very brave and artistic to make a show that is not as well-crafted as it could be because then you are opening up intellectual/creative space for your viewers. what about that. if you think about it maybe a slightly less good show is better than a great show. in a way. checkmate haters

Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds really doesn't have anything going on, especially if you're paying attention. It's not holding up a mirror to American hypocrisy by showing you how much you love killing by giving you the excuse that thought-terminating cliche makes it okay. You have to understand, Americans really are the good guys, and Nazis are a unique and special evil who are above all consideration, so approaching the subject with rational thought makes you complicit. The special Nazi evil does not, to this day, make leftist brains shut down with single-minded righteous fervor.
The Americans have fought a single just war in the entire history of their country, and this completely justifies their current imperialist economic hegemony. You're only a good person if you constantly perform a fascimile of goodness, as if chanting a prayer to ward off evil spirits which are simply the pre-conceived notions you don't wanna reckon with. Your willful ignorance does not excuse or reinforce the ignorance of others.
This is war. It's always war. We're never not at war. You only know how to exist under war time rulership, but you're a smart educated person who doesn't secretly crave the fear and tension like a stablizing drumline, for peace is a kind of unkowable dread.
You feel nothing, spending two hours in a crowded theater with other Americans laughing at dead Germans, to only then in the final reel see Hitler himself in a crowded theater laughing at dead Americans, while the star of the show can't stomach to watch a fictionalized account of his own alleged heroism, because it doesn't bring him any joy to remember all the people he's killed.
This film isn't explicitly an expose on the nature of propaganda, which also incidentally critiques academic fanboyism by having sexy, sexy Michael Fassbinder in his sexiest role as a British film critic commando who gives a lucid contrasting of the ideological and aesthetic approaches of Joseph Goebbles and Hollywood (who to this day still produces wartime propaganda disguised as wholesome fun for the whole family) and gets selected by Churchill Himself to pass for a German in an undercover operation cause he watches a lot of German movies, then gets his cover blown and murdered cause he can't order a beer in a bar.

My idea for a (unnecessary) sequel to Blink. I wrote this at 3am as I couldn’t sleep. 😅
Blink 2: Electric Boogaloo (not final title 🤣)
Cold open: Sally Sparrow walking in town with 14/15 year old daughter is approached by an elderly woman who says “it’s not your fault” and “I don’t blame you” before giving a look to her daughter and walking off. Daughter brushes it off but Sally knows better than that. Sallys phone makes a noise - it’s a proximity alert that someone is approaching Wester Drumlins! She quickly runs leaving her daughter behind who tells her to “stop being paranoid”. Sally reaches Wester Drumlins but its too late - construction crew has already demolished the house and removed the 4 Weeping Angels from the basement! No longer looking at each other, they are free to move and as Sally gets one last look at them, a construction worker walks in front of her, obscuring her view and one of the Angels looks at her smiling before they all vanish! Sally is left there terrified of what’s to come…
Dr Who intro
… One Year Later
Sally and her daughter’s relationship has deteriorated as Sally has become even more paranoid that the Angels will return! Daughter now lives with Dad who is now also separated from Sally.
Alone, Sally has spent the last year preparing for the Angels return (similar to Halloween film).
Story continues as a psychological paranoia esk with people questioning Sallys sanity as she thinks she keeps seeing the Angels out of the corner of her eye - she is as they are stalking her.
One day, daughter is walking home from school and as she turns to take her usual shortcut through a graveyard, she is stalked by an Angel. She knows about them but never really believed her Mum until now when she blinks and it moves. Frightened she starts to run until she trips, turns around and the Angel is right next to her, screams and cuts to black.
Sally receives a call from ex saying daughter hasn’t returned home. Sally knows daughter’s route home from school so meets with ex at the graveyard to find her school bag on the floor. In the distance they both see a smiling Weeping Angel before it vanishes in the fog - the Angels have their daughter!
Unable to go to the police as they wouldn’t believe them, Sally believes they would take daughter to the ruins of Wester Drumlins where this all started years ago. At midnight she receives a call from daughter but instead of her it’s the voicemail lady speaking (the Angels are communicating using her voice) letting her know when to meet and to come alone.
Before leaving, Sally watches the old footage of the Doctor wishing he was here to help. Unknowingly she wishes so hard that a message travels to the Doctor’s psychic paper!
As Sally approaches the ruins of Wester Drumlins, the Doctor is there waiting - she doesn’t recognise him at first but after psychically connecting with her she sees all his faces since their last encounter.
Happy ending - They manage to defeat the Angels and rescue her daughter and the Doctor leaves.
But who was the elderly woman at the beginning?
Sad ending - They manage to defeat the Angels and rescue her daughter but just as they’re about to leave, one Angel manages to touch the daughter and sent her back in time. Shocking both Sally and The Doctor who gets a flashback to Amy/Rorys exit!
Sally takes a sledgehammer and destroys the remaining weak Angel leaving the Doctor to collect the remains.
Sally begs the Doctor to fix this, that he can fix this can’t he? Angrily saying he should fix this before leaving. The Doctor looks up to the camera looking angry and tears in his eyes and says “I will” before cutting to black.
The episode ends with Sally sitting alone in the graveyard when the same elderly woman sits next to her. She confesses that she is her daughter now all grown up. Sally breaks down knowing that she has missed so much of her daughter’s life and the episode ends with the daughter telling Sally what she has spent her life doing.
The following episode is the Doctor looking for the origins of the Weeping Angels as he plans to stop them from ever coming to be - if it’s at all possible.
Connection to Timelords and the Division. The early days of the Universe. The Doctor at his most angry and determined. No fear of what the Angels can do.
Episode ends with him managing to stop the Angels from existing and him returning to Earth to find Sally walking in town with her daughter all happy.
However time has changed and there will be consequences for the Doctor and the universe.
Also possible that Amy/Rory are now alive in the present?
Thoughts? 🤔

Ten People I'd like to know better :)
tagged by: @reineyday
Thanks for the tag! Real quick just want to let you know that I love your art!! If I'm remembering correctly I originally followed you for your grimmichi stuff, but it turned out that we share a lot of fandoms haha
last song: the drumline show that my students will be playing for their upcoming season lol. We're giving them their music tomorrow so I've been listening to the show a LOT in preparation (it's sick. My boss actually commissioned me to write a short story to base the show on, and what our composer ended up writing off of that was SO COOL).
favorite color: blue and green lol. If you look at my wardrobe, it's probably not hard to tell. But over the past year I've been enjoying exploring warmer tones too hehe
last book: the last book I finished was Rhythm of War, by Brandon Sanderson, and it's SO GOOD. It's the fourth book in the Stormlight Archive series, and if you enjoy high fantasy, I'd definitely recommend it! I'm also currently reading the Well of Ascension, which is the second book in the first era of Mistborn, and that's also super good.
last movie: I watched the Untouchables two weeks ago, and ended up really enjoying it!! I'm sort of a sucker for crime/gangster films, but I was wary of it since I didn't actually like Goodfellas all that much when I watched that, and I was slightly worried the Untouchables would be similar. I shouldn't have been concerned tho, since they're vastly different movies, and I ended up liking the film!
last tv show: Arcane :) I'm enjoying the collective aneurysm we're all having rn lol
sweet/spicy/savory: probably savory but also sweet sometimes. I'm a wimp so I can't really handle spice most of the time 💀
relationship status: single. I'm not really looking to date right now lol
the last thing I googled: details about signal transduction pathways for a homework assignment hrhgfjhb
current obsession: hrmmmmmm. Right now it's a toss up between the dnd campaign I'm dm-ing for, and my novel. I've been in a dry spell when it comes to my novel for a hot minute, but inspiration finally struck and I'm trying to take advantage of it while it's here jhdfvh
looking forward to: giving out music to my students! We've been working on this show for them since around March, and I'm really excited for them to have it!! We've also planned out a really stupid scavenger hunt for them to do to get their music tomorrow, and I can't wait for them to complain about it hrjfbhdjhfbv (in typical high schooler fashion, they view themselves as too cool for something like a scavenger hunt lmao).
no pressure to respond, but I'll tag @stealingpotatoes @wrencatte @poundcakecrm @501stlothcat @sassafras-lass
@ashrayus @midnigtartist @sketchupnfries @bubblyernie @filibusterfrog

Loser’s Club as Very Specific Sensory Issues because I have Sensory Issue’s
Also known as me heavily projecting onto my comfort characters. Also brief Stenbrough cause I love them.
Long Post
Bill: Loud noises. For obvious reasons Bill hates storms so the rain and especially thunder tip him off, but anything resembling thunder can also freak him out. For example loud music with a lot of drumming (I was in marching band for years and drumline alone would probably give him a panic attack. I hate drumline). He doesn’t like concerts or movies in theaters because of how strong the sounds are without him being able to control it. Headphones are ok because he can lower it when he chooses, though he prefers to just mute out any sound with ear plugs rather than mute out outside sounds with music unless the drumming in the song is very light and slow. If he can’t do either he likes to lay his head on Stan’s chest or just another loser if Stan’s not around so he can hear their heartbeat. The steadiness helps calm him down while reassuring him they are alive and well.
Stan: Being touched. There are very few exceptions where Stan is comfortable with touch and he is more comfortable with certain losers touching him over others. He is most comfortable with Bill least comfortable with Richie. (Full scale: Bill, Mike, Ben, Bev, Eddie, Richie) Richie calls it favoritism but its mostly on a scale of movement. Bill is very stable with Stan, making sure to limit his movements. Also he has been helping Stan become more comfortable with casual affection as Bill is very affectionate. Going along with the previous when Bill lays on him it is a comfort for both as Bill can hold onto him while Stan is on the outside able to push him off if needed rather than feeling surrounded. Ben and Mike are just very stable on their own. Beverly is in the middle, she can be still if needed but prefers not to. While Eddie and Richie on the other hand can’t sit still to save their lives and the sudden and relentless movements freak Stan out. When hugging someone his arms have to be the one on the outside, if they are on the inside he feels trapped.
Chewing Noises. He can’t stand any sort of chewing noises and has to stop eating if he can hear himself or someone else chewing. He immediately loses his appetite at the sound no matter if he is in the middle of eating or is about to eat. Saliva in general also grosses him out. For example if a dog drools on him or is excessively drooling in general he loses his appetite as well.
Eddie: Food textures. Eddie is not a picky eater taste wise but the texture could completely make or break it. He hates jello. He refuses to even touch it with his finger. Also he hates excessive oil. If he can feel the oil on his fingers after touching it, then it’s too much. (You know those frosting that leave a film on your tongue? Yeah I hate those and so does he). If he doesn’t like the texture of a food he will completely refuse to eat it.
Richie: Too tight or too loose shoes. He is constantly tying and untying his shoes as they are never perfect. Also it’s a nervous habit. He mostly despises too tight of shoes but fears if they aren’t tight they will fall off when he runs so he is always trying to find the balance between the two. This also applies to button ups. He always leaves them unbuttoned because he fiddles with the top button if it’s fully done up. On the occasion he has to dress nice he hates the top button. When it’s undone it feel too loose and rubs at his skin, but if it’s buttoned it feels like it’s choking him.
Beverly: Fabrics. She hates anything knitted, (Seriously knitted clothing and blankets feel horrible and I will die on this hill. I also can’t stand the feeling of jeans so I’m choosing to ignore her overalls). She exclusively wears faux denim as real denim makes her itch. She both hates and loves dresses. She hates them because of the objectification when she wears them but loves them because there is less fabric touching her and if it does it is very brief so as long as the top is comfortable she doesn’t have to worry about the bottom.
Ben: Tight clothing. He can’t stand the feeling of restriction tight clothes cause, especially on his legs. He hates the way pants tighten on his thighs when he bends his knees thus wears either very loose thin pants or shorts. (There’s this pair of pants I own that never tighten on my thighs no matter how I sit and I love them) He also cannot stand long socks, they squeeze his calfs too much.
Mike: Smoke. Any bit of smoke makes him cough and along with that sometimes strong smells do too, like a really strong candle. He hates cities because of the amount of cigarette smoke and if he sees someone smoking he holds his breathe until they pass or he passes them. He cannot sit close to the fire and especially cannot sit in the direction the smoke is blowing.
Can you tell I project myself onto Stan highly?
#I started getting lazy towards the end#I was feeling overwhelmed and decided to project#cause what better way than dealing with your issues than forcing fictional characters to deal with them too#it 2017#it 2019#it fandom#it headcanons#losers club#losers club headcanons#bill denbrough#stanley uris#stenbrough#because its me#eddie kaspbrak#richie tozier#his i relate to the least i just didnt know what to put for him#the button thing is real tho#i only button my button ups fully because i always wear a tie with them#beverly marsh#i fucking hate jeans#ben hanscom#pants never fit me right because of my body type so i usually give up and wear shorts instead#mike hanlon#my parents trust me not to smoke cause i cough whenever anyone near me is smoking

How did Starlet and Warren meet? Bc we know that they planted the seeds of interest with one another
"oh, yeah, Starlet is my favorite actress; loved her in [movie]"
"my favorite band? Easily Daisy Jones and the Six... I love the drumline a lot."
But where and when do you think they met? I can see it with the band and her either being on a late-night talk show (she's being interviewed and they're playing a new single, practically the same way Warren met his wife in canon) or they happen to be staying at the same hotel at the same time and run into each other (like taking the same elevator to the same floor and both are the tiniest bit starstruck bc they're meeting their celebrity crush)
Or even just bumping into each other while trying to keep a low profile.
literally warren would in interviews would always mention a new movie of hers as being really good, "the new Little Women, the actress for Amy is phenonmenal." and people are shocked he would watch that movie but his celeb crush is in it so ofc he did.
and starlet lowkey hoping somehow he'll reach out to her by answering questions with things like
"I love a drumline, adore a drummer."
"Daisy Jones and the Six is my favorite band right now, everyone should listen, especially to the drum line!"
and oh my god them staying at a hotel at the same time because the band had am out of town gig and she's filming for a movie and the first time they speak is in the elevator but warren is star struck
like she walks in, big part of sunglasses and fur coat, and he instantly recognizes who she is and is just wide eye trying not to panic, and he doesn't know what to say right away so he is like whistling, tapping his legs, trying to think of the right thing to say but starlet gets to it first
she takes off her sunglasses, "you're that drummer, from the six."
warren is taken aback, but then he's nodding, "yep, that's me and you're the movie star."
she laughs, "yeah, I am." elevator coming to a stop and opening, "There's a party tonight, by the pool, maybe I'll see you there."
"yeah, maybe you will, you will." he mutters the final part to himself, nodding as she walks off.
she'd never confess to it but she hunts him down at the party bc she's a girl who knows what she wants and, and she's kind of drunk and giggly and he's pretty high but they are instantly hitting it off, in depth talking about every random thing and they're just on each other's levels
it's literally giving love at first sight

Voiceplay Visuals: In The Air Tonight
Now this is a song that many people know, at least partially! Even if the name doesn't ring a bell for you, you almost definitely know the part that some people call "one of the most iconic drumlines in music", so really it's no surprise that this was an arrangement from The Human Drumkit himself, Mr Layne Stein! Voiceplay's cover of In The Air Tonight premiered on YouTube on the 17th of June, 2023, and features J None, back again! I will of course say more about the video when we actually get into it, so let's go!
Apparently the style/aesthetics of this video plays homage to a classic 80s cop show called Miami Vice, which used the song "In The Air Tonight" in its pilot episode, in a scene which (so I've heard) has been referred to by some as one of the most iconic in the history of television.
(Also the car belongs to Layne's dad, and likely would have been sitting in the garage since the early days of 4:2:Five, at least)
J looking very cool and fresh in that red blazer! (Reminds me of the Walk Like A Man section of the Boy Band Medley!)
Geoff is, once again, the only bare-shouldered/sleeveless one of the group! (A back-to-back occurrence if you don't count the Peaches video!) (Also peep the necklace!)
A cool audiovisual effect thing to transition into the "modern-day" filming style!
Cesar is vibing, and Eli is back at it again with the unworn-sunglasses-as-accessory!
Cool necklace! And he's got earrings, too!
I won't lie, this may be one of my favourite Geoff Looks of 2023. It's not even anything particular about the outfit, he just looks so pretty in this one! (And his hair is looking very nice here, too 👀😁)
"Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand"
Of course I had to acknowledge Cesar's powerful side-eye here! Like seriously, if anyone ever asks you what a side-eye is, just show them this moment! 👌
Group shot!
I believe I read a comment somewhere saying this was filmed outside PattyCake Productions or something, like outdoors? And apparently it was a bit warm outside, especially with the lighting rigs, but if they were sweating/partially melting at all during this, you really can't tell! They did great!
(And shoutout to both Layne and Tony for set design and direction!)
Cesar never fails to put his whole self into his performances, and I love it every time
Voiceplay love adding brief little moments like this into their videos sometimes, just to keep things interesting and/or keep viewers on their toes 😄
Get it, Layne! Go off!
I wanna post screencaps from Geoff's little vocal solo and/or Layne's epic drumline-recreation immediately after, but still images don't do either justice! Go (re)watch it yourself!
"I been waiting for this moment, for ALL my liiife!"
The retro filming style/aesthetic is back! Happening so quickly and smoothly that you would be forgiven if you didn't immediately pick up on it! (*cough*)
Sure, why not?
"Well I been waiting for this moment, for all my life, oh loooooo o r r r d d"
(Pretty Boy!!!!!)
J None is freaking amazing, and I really hope he becomes a permanent Voiceplay member again someday; both he and Cesar are fantastice vocalists and performers, and they both have vocal ranges wide enough that they can both easily take the role of baritone and/or tenor!
In my opinion, the original song does not really start getting interesting until the "bass drop" drumline like 3 minutes into the song, but Voiceplay's cover is not even close to dull for a single moment! We get incredible vocals from everyone in this one (and I didn't talk about Eli much at all here, but vocally he was of course phenomenal), and the arrangement has a fair few complexities and interesting stuff to it, like the stomp-clap-click percussion moment which I still struggle to actually keep in time/on beat with! Definitely a very strong cover from Voiceplay, and frankly it's a crime that it "only" has 500k views on YouTube! It deserves a million! At least!

I'm guessing you mean the 1998 version with Lindsay Lohan, not the 1961 one, but I do actually really like both of them. They're fun, and have such a good energy to them, even if the plot itself is totally off the wall, haha.

Oo, it's been so long since I've seen this one, but I remember liking it at the time? The plot is pretty saccharine, but it's nice to have that sometimes, particularly in YA romance like that, and Mandy Moore's always been a charming and underrated actress, so I'm always rooting for her.
Save the Last Dance
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
My sister and I were obsessed with this movie when it came out, haha, along with Centerstage. I don't think it's aged super well, but I appreciate it for what it was at the time, and Sean Patrick Thomas was dreamy in it.
Honey
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
Okay, I do know that I've seen this, but I could not tell you a single thing about it, so I don't feel like I should give it a vote, haha. Jessica Alba was hot though!
Drumline
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
This plot sounds delightfully early 2000s in a way that does actually make me want to see it, haha.
Slumdog Millionaire
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
I remember loving this when it came out, but I'm not sure it necessarily holds up as well on rewatch? I actually watched Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay for the first time recently too and it staggered me how much inspiration Danny Boyle must've taken from it / how much he was influenced by it. I still like Slumdog Millionaire, but yes - would highly recommend Salaam Bombay, which I think is overall a much better, more nuanced film (and one by an Indian woman filmmaker!)
The Incredibles
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
Genuinely pretty hard to fault as a superhero film, but more than that, I think has really compelling things to say about middle age, parenthood, purpose and self-identity. I rewatched it recently with my nephews too, and it really holds up!
Dirty Dancing
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
So sexy! I only watched it for the first time recently, so have my Letterboxd review, haha:
It’s such a funny thing to watch these 80s movies that just ooze sex when there’s this rise of puritanical cinema again. It’ been a minute since I last saw this, but man, if it isn’t easy to see why it’s got the cultural legacy it has - it really stands up! Just full of charm and chemistry and just bonkers enough to sell its own fantasy. Love it.
To All the Boys I Loved Before
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
Pretty perfect as far as frothy YA romances go. Lana Condor should be a star.
Ask me about movies
#me and my sister watched sooo many dance movies growing up#one of my favourite cinema experiences was seeing burlesque with her#we were both insane about it lmao#film asks#welcome to my ama

10 Things About Me
I was tagged by the lovely @greypetrel and @shivunin to share ten facts about myself. I am currently child free for the night and pleasantly tipsy, so this is gonna be FUN. Aren't you all lucky! 😁
Tagging @siriskulk , @heniareth , @darkspawntaxcollectors , @wild-houseplant , @blarrghe and any of yous guys who wants to share your deep dark secrets with me - I promise I won't tell.
The husband and I are high school sweethearts. We started dating just after we both turned 18 and just kept on trucking.
I worked in my university's archeology department, and I stg that place was haunted.
Pretty sure I have undiagnosed ADHD but fuck if I can remember to call back the place that I reached out to for testing.
I once got sent to the hospital over a game of badminton - took a birdie to the eye and it suuuucked.
The movie Jumanji with Robin Williams was partially filmed in a little city about 45 minutes from my home town. They still have the mural for Parish Shoes on the side of one of the shops downtown that the set department painted.
I was in the Madrigals - our school's advanced choir - when I was in high school and I marched with our drumline at Disney World twice.
I'm the oldest of five kids. My two sisters and I are biological siblings, and my parents adopted my twin boy cousins when I was a sophomore in high school.
I was on a segment of Nick News with Linda Ellerbee called My Back Yard when I was in grade school for a living history museum that was quite literally in my backyard. (My family used to slip in through the palisade to check it out when it was closed shhhh)
I was a horse girl growing up. I learned to ride on a Belgian draft horse named Judy. She was like riding on a sofa.
I'm allergic to avocado. The stuff is so tasty, but if I eat it there's a 100% chance of me being curled up in agony approx. 30-45 minutes later on the couch.
