Yeah, I think they definitely fall in that wheelhouse as I looked for them on eBay and discovered they have a bunch of different lines like Galupy Unicorns, Galupy Fairies, etc.

OMG HI!!!! i'm really sorry i hate posting pics to the internet it feels like im doxxing myself but i found pics on google of all the horse toys i was thinking abt when i made that post:-)

so for context my parents used to pay for a monthly subscription to "póni klub" (pony club) which basically mailed you a box of horse things every month and a big box every year (if i remember correctly! im not sure, i only got like 3 or 4 of them in total coz they said it was too expensive 😔) which means i have like an extreme assortment of random things just from that and then there's all the stuff i got as presents or as a vásárfia (means like, "son of the market" it's basically when someone gets you a little thing from the market you're at just coz you're there, for me it also meant like, the grocery store we went to on a roadtrip)

the póni klub stuff is extremely diverse, i have two calendar-journal things (explained a bit better later), several episodes of heartland on dvd (which i dont think i ever watched), a scary as hell audiobook about a cursed tree ?? (there's a horse there also), a bunch of fantasy or y/a books about horses, stickers, keychains, erasers, anything you can imagine basically, and also a lot of little figurines

the one i was specifically thinking of when i made the post is a toyline called picipacik (c is pronounced like ts so it's like, cute to say, it means like, "tiny horsies") which came with a little personality card for each horse and also a disc to a pc game which i spent an hour trying to find before answering this ask LMAO but i got it, it was one of those collectible things but all the figurines have fur (the cards have fur too i almost forgot!!!) and they all have names and exist in the game too

i got i think one of them from póniklub and bought the rest independently but i couldn't tell you, the póni klub calendar/journal/activity book thingies (they're really good btw they have like puzzles and jokes and informative articles in them too) are dated 2008 and 2012 so yknow. it's been. an insane amount of time. im shocked i even remember anything at all tbh but horse memories are forever i suppose

idk if you know about the german horse figurine company schleich but every time we went to austria/germany (pretty often, long story) I'd see them on the shelf and I'd want one SOOO so fucking bad sooo bad but my parents were like no way they're way too expensive 😠 only for me to realise a few months ago they're literally 3-10 euros but WHATEVER i had a few of those coz I'd beg to get one every time i saw them, chief among them these 2 beasts. the pegasus has been on my shelf for as long as i've had the shelf and it's looking at me typing this and the skewbald horse is in the attic in my horse box but ok so looking these up they're selling for like hundreds of dollars on ebay which is insane coz they were DEFINITELY not even remotely that expensive or I wouldn't have gotten them. anyway they were absolute treasures coz of how much begging it took to get them and how much i liked them, i took them with me everywhere

i also have these gorgeous little guys or well i only have the palomino but i have two of it but i played with them a crazy amount as a baby so they're really beat up, one of them lost his tail years before i developed the ability to retain memories but i cannot even begin to tell you just how soft and fluffy their manes are

my BIGGEST obsession and the one i actually got to indulge in was filly ponies, they were really cheap and came in blind bags so that was the vásárfia i usually got on the aforementioned germany/austria trips, im not sure exactly how many i have but it has to be like at least 20 or 30? i dont have any full series coz they kept updating the generations really quickly so like every few months there'd be a whole new batch of them. I'd spend ages trying to look at the available horses on the back and trying to feel the blind bag and guess which one was inside and i was correct surprisingly often, I'd say like 70-80% of the time. and since they were really small well. i never shoplifted any unprompted but one time i found a bag someone had torn open and then left there, horse and all, and i didnt have the heart to leave it so i put it in my pocket. they also came w personality cards but i lost some of them and I wasn't brave enough to also pocket the personality card of the open one but given my tendency to lose things i own a surprising amount. they also came with big maps and catalogues so I'd cross out the ones i had and circle the ones i wanted, i still have the unicorn catalogue glued on my wall, that's the one i got the most of but im sure i have at least one of each kind, this is what the blind bags looked like but i also have one of the metal boxes

there were loads in each series and uh, hm, huh, well, lmfao ?? always encouraging when something's wikipedia page has a lawsuits section. im a fillyhead forever i think crimes are ok. ALSO APPARENTLY THERE'S A TV SHOW??? DAMN. to me they'll always be fun little toys i collected when i was 5. love these guys so much if i had shelf space I'd display them. i used to have them displayed but alas i have too many items and things now also everything is always dusty. like i said the unicorns are the ones i have the most of and i only ever got a single blind bag from the crowned series but i spent ages feeling the bag to make sure i got jewel the big one in the middle and I DID!!!! getting a good grade in uh, feeling blind bags???

anyway i hit the image limit but thank you so much for asking, i loove my little horse toys :-)) there's many more but they either dont have fun lore attached or they're just gen 2/gen 3/gen 4 my little pony toys or legos or lps or the horses that came with those wooden train sets so slightly less specific than the examples above but yeah i have a veritable museum of horse toys and plushies and so-on. i dont think I've gotten anything horse related either for myself or as a gift in MANY years (other than, yknow, horse riding stuff and then the actual living horse i had for a few beautiful years) which is honestly surprising given the sheer amount of horse stuff i got from age 0 to like, mid teens but i guess my inventory filled up or something

My Princess Starla/Gwenevere collection! Most of it is from my childhood. Drake and Fallon with the little dragon are garage sales finds (too bad her hair are cut and his mask is missing!) through the years. ShadowSong is a custom I made with a spare Moondance, I'm really proud of him. Now I just need Lady Kale and I’ll be happy ^^

Because of my previous reblog, and because I *love* a free excuse to infodump about my collections...

I love my My Little Ponies, but every once in a while, a different brand of horse ends up in my hands. Fashion Star Fillies have a different take of 80s aesthetic to them. While Gen 1 MLPs have a fairy tail and soft girly 80s aesthetic, Fashion Star Fillies have an urban fashion (hence the name lol) style to them. Gen 1 MLPs are running free in the countryside with rainbows, but Fashion Star Fillies are walking about in the middle of NYC showing off how cute they are. Either way, I love both takes so much 🥹

Anyway, this is Dara. There were two versions of her, and at first, I thought this was a rare "prototype" version of her. But I mistakenly thought that just because of the way her head looks at certain angles (this one's head is tilted, the prototype has her head straight ahead). I decided to name her Emerald Twilight because I wanted to give her a more "MLP" sounding name that could also be classy and elegant. Her colors are so pretty. She's such a beautiful 80s baby 🥹❤️

Filly Butterfly: Rainbow edition, Europe (Ukraine)

Egmont's Filly Magazine in Germany was releasing Rainbow Butterfly toys in late 2022. Now, besides Glitter Butterfly the same magazine covered, Rainbow Butterfly also comes to Europe, starting with Ukraine!

We have another round of some new characters (who are, yet again, recolours of Butterflys from 2014), their names are completely new and unique: Lulu (Tia's recolour), Pia (Alyssa's recolour), Nicki (Bea's recolour?), Ninel (Nina's recolour and names are similar), Valerie (Toby's recolour), Colette (Rhett's recolour), Amara (Jack's recolour? even Water group's mark is intact, which shouldn't be the case for Heart group...), Heidi (Lotus' recolour), Catriona (Freya's recolour).

Scarlet of course is kept, she's special character. Emma from Friendship Group and Sara from Flower Group are also remaining Butterflys from ~2014+ collection(s).

Also yes, Dracco does just 'remakes' of old characters with additional design elements now, at least since last Blue Ocean magazines in ~2021. Though for European 2023+ editions they at least change colours lol. I get it, it's hard to be a small toy company with financial struggles. At least they continue still~

Digital diary 2024.10.16.

I went shopping with my mum. I found a blind bag flocked pony toy on sale and picked it up. Its like the Filly toys just bigger and more horse like. I got Woody.

After shopping, i went to math tutoring. My dad made me sad by saying i had a smaller chance of getting into the place i want. Tomorrow i'm going to have an English class. Which makes me confused because if, tomorrow is English class are going to have an another English class on Friday or a math class.

Oh wow! Nikki was the first Fashion Star Filly I got as a kid. I wish I'd kept them.

It’s Toy Time Tuesday! With…Fashion Star Fillies Nikki! Well, more like the return of Nikki because she was already on here in a past TTT, but because I have just gotten her again as an upgrade, she re-appears. This is a true upgrade, about as perfect a Nikki as you can get. As you’ll note, that hair is the ‘fading posey pink’, and it is completely unfaded. Also, note the tip of the tail in perfect shape as well. (Long hair like that tends to frizz easily because kids tangle it up) The wave is still perfectly in the mane & her paint is in such excellent shape. (I do have her brush, a butterfly, but it doesn’t appear here nor do the front ankle cuffs–but she is missing a silver bow that went behind her ear) Nikki is a polo horse from Argentina. (I guess FSF horses play polo by themselves because they are people / characters–how do they hit the ball? Maybe it’s like soccer for them) She is the youngest of all of the adult Fashion Star Fillies.  She was only released twice, both in the same pose and the only difference was the color of her brush (pink or purple) and if she had a silky-fabric name-blanket with her or if she didn’t. Later releases had the blanket. She was also only 1 of 2 original fillies who only had 2 barrettes. The silver fabric for her bow and cuffs is prone to fabric-disease where the shiny-ness erodes off of it in blotches until it is all gone. The tail wrap uses actual tinsel-foil so it never erodes.  Nikki wasn’t an original who I bought new (ever) as I never found her in stores. I got her much later. Although she is purple (my favorite color) she was not my favorite of the originals (Dara is) Because these are air brushed toys, you can find her with more & less pink on the legs.  Fashion Stars are my absolute favorite line of fantasy horses. No one has ever outdone them because they are “perfected horses”. Their sculpt is extremely realistic, but without any of the “Flaws” of horses like veins on their face/elsewhere, rough lump-patches on their upper arms, wrinkly skin areas, or junk. They are such amazing fantasy colors, they are people/characters, they have tons of fun accessories that are fitting/not stupid,  the hair is SO thick and SO quality…every single thing about them seems amazing and was never out-done. They are 100% amazing.

Transmac, he/him

Is very very kind and soft, very caring towards kids. Has lost a younger brother due to sickness, which traumatized him a lot, but now he's healing, deciding to make as much kids as possible happy, while also filling the void in his heart. Has a small toy shop and sews plush toys, can often be seen giving them away for free. With adults he's more rude and has a bad behavior, but controls it well around fillies. Overall just a sweet and kind pony, trying to be decent. His friends gave him a nickname - Lemmy.

Tilly & Finley Wild Manes Review

since i got a hold of these girlies lets investimigate- apologies for overexposure

first, individual pics of each of them. here's finley:

who is themed after a pool party, of course. when i bought her at target, the self checkout display called her Isla, which makes sense as a working name for her... island.

she is white with grey hooves and a muzzle. she has blue eyeshadow with green eyes and blonde eyebrows, matching her blonde hair with a purple streak.

i will color correct these photos for the wiki, but for now, here's the raw photo of her clothes

all of the clothes are unhemmed and simply printed-on fabric with two velcro connections. my finley also had a plastic tab keeping the front attatched (which i snipped so i could remove it). you can see her mermaid tail and flamingoes on her clothes. the clothing is very thin, i don't think it might fray any time soon, but it does seem lazy for a fashion horse toy. thankfully, the hair makes up for it, we'll get there later.

each of these horses came with a brush and a non-brush accessory. finley's is wearable! she has a visor made with this magenta translucent plastic. i didn't take any pictures of it on her, but it does indeed fit on her head.

she comes with this purple brush, which you can tell is hers because of the flamingo printed on it.

and now a quick tilly rundown...

she's a brown horse with a brown muzzle and hooves, red eyeshadow, yellow eyes, and blonde eyebrows. her hair is more of a dirty blonde than finley, and her color streak is described as "periwinkle". the self checkout register called her Serena, which... yeah, i can see why they may have changed that. a little on the nose.

as you can see by her brush's symbol, she's very clearly tennis-themed. her accessory is unfortunately not wearable, instead it's a water bottle with a tennis racket printed on

if that all wasn't clear enough, her outfit has a tennis racket on it, too! there is no hemming, the "collar" is printed on. her outfit looks like a blue polo and a teal skirt.

okay, now the part people actually wanted to see. what the heck the figures look like

it's gettin' hot in here, so take off all your clothes...

both finley and tilly have the same exact model! i assume the horses (ponies? horses. fillies?) all have the same bodies. i think i can feel a few spots where the plastic feels slightly more rubbery/pliable than the others, so i do fear we may see discoloration as time goes on.

all of the legs are articulated at the shoulder or "hip" (sorry horse fans, it's a knee or something?), but only the front left leg is articulated in multiple places.

thank you girls, finley has her leg fairly straightened out whereas tilly has it bent. i haven't noticed the joints being unusually difficult to maneuver or maintain position, which bodes well for pictures. i did have a little bit of trouble getting them to balance in my photobox (likely because the bottom bows inwards a bit), but the little extra range of motion is nice. you can also twist the joints a little bit, but not super extremely.

but can she sit?

sort of? i know horses don't really naturally "sit" very well, but she still looks goofy. her neck doesn't move forwards so it's not a very great-looking pose for her to hold, but she can balance like this on her own.

her head can turn, it's on a ball join, i believe it's similar to the g4.5/g5 mlp joints but a little more restrictive. i intend to dismantle a finley for research, so ill be able to share that when the time comes. it can rotate and move up and down slightly.

more motion... one of the back legs is in a mid-walk position which made her a little awkward to balance. you can see the company name and "made in china" stamp on the inside of this leg.

it's not very clear in this image, but there's a stamp with numbers and letters on her stomach. i don't know what this means, as finley had the same code! you can also see the hooves have horseshoes with "WM" (wild manes) on them.

before we get into the manes of the wild manes, a quick little look at their eyes.

the paint looks great! it's not stippled like i've seen on a few other dolls recently. the eyes are also sculpted in, so we hopefully won't have wild misplacement like we do on the newer MLPs. they both have stars and two eye shines, and the eyelashes are the same. the only differences here are the colors.

okay. mane time.

the hair is SUPER soft. i agree with the replier who said it's Kiwi Nylon. i am very happy that the hair is so nice and hope that the others in this set are the same way! the way it's packaged in the box makes it so there are three or four rubber bands holding it in place, and it leaves the hair with the "memory" of that. i did wash and condition the hair in these photos, which also seemed to help with the small qualms i had with the hair right out of the box. it seemed a little oily and tilly had a doubled-over plug. finley didn't seem to have any rooting troubles!

all of the hair is a few rows up the back of the head with a section for bangs. you can see that they wove tilly's bangs with the longer hair that's part of her mane to hide the parting in her head, which is likely expected for a doll but a cool detail. her bangs are NOT gelled down!

here you can see five to six rows of hair on the back of the head. it's not a lot of surface area, but the hair seems thickly rooted for what it is!

here i've parted the mane on Finley so you can see the hair a little more clearly. it looks like the streaks of hair are only on the outside of the rooting.

i've been a little afraid to peel back finley's bangs lest they become unsalvagable, but here's finley's bangs peeled back.

there's still a few rows here. when i dismantle her, hopefully i can showcase her rooting pattern more clearly.
