so the bright side of not being able to sleep is that you occasionally get something done in one sitting in a reasonable amount of time

These designs kicked my ass the other day, but that's what happens when you're trying to emulate another's style. Ambroise, an antagonist within the world of Eternia, my world building project and creation of love. He is a Godsborne, and a person of importance to the Elder God, Mortigothe [name still under construction] - The God of Wealth and Ambition.

sorry i'm on a Murderbot Diaries kick again so y'all are getting meta. thinking about that one scene in Network Effect that everyone talks about. you know, the “who the fuck are you” “this is nonstandard communication” aka the one where Three discovers the concept of eldritch horror for the first time. beautiful scene 10/10 no notes.
that being said i’m also thinking about a take i’ve seen a few times saying that ART was way scarier to Three than it was to Murderbot and like. I don’t think that’s completely true. not to say that ART wasn’t mean or scary to Three — being told that someone might peel away your organic parts piece by piece will in fact be terrifying any way you spin in.
but like. okay. ART and Three come to an understanding very quickly in NE, arguably quicker than Murderbot and ART in AC. and some of that is due to the difference in Murderbot and Three’s personalities, but i think a lot of that is due to how ART approaches each situation.
(more under the cut)
so like okay. when ART and Murderbot first meet, Murderbot is entirely a wildcard coming aboard ART, and ART responds the way you would to an unknown, unpredictable threat, i.e. with a blatant but somewhat ambiguous show of force. by dropping its walls ART is doing the equivalent of like. brandishing a powerful weapon in your face. it doesn't explicitly tell Murderbot that it will hurt it. in fact, the only things it says to Murderbot are to tell it that it knows that it's a rogue SecUnit and to warn Murderbot not to hack it. this is the type of approach you'd take with someone who you aren't sure even has the capacity to be reasoned with - it demonstrates that it could crush Murderbot like a bug, because this is the only thing it's confident Murderbot will respond to.
the problem with this, from Murderbot's POV, is that, because the threat is implied rather than explicitly stated, there's no reassurance that if Murderbot doesn't try to hack ART then ART will leave it alone in turn. in fact, it spends the moments after this interaction spiraling about what ART wants with it and whether ART specifically let it on board to torture or kill it. i don't think that was ART's intention with the threat, i think it genuinely did not have the context to realize that Murderbot would take the show of force more as a threat of imminent violence than as a warning against attacking it. but, since it didn't have that context, it approached that interaction like one would approach someone with whom you don't see as an equal and don't have any interest in reasoning with.
contrast that to how ART interacts with Three. on the surface, what it says is scarier. its threats are certainly more violent. but they are also explicitly stated if/then statements: if you hurt these humans, then i will do xyz to you. i do know that in mathematical logic there's still no guarantee made in if/then statements that the then won't come to pass regardless, but the specificity of both the threat and the guidelines provides Three with parameters to follow, and implies that if it does then no harm will come to it.
this was notable to me because ART speaks to Three like a person to be negotiated with from the beginning, and that's. well. because it knows enough by now to know that Three is a person, in a way that i'm not sure it knew about Murderbot before seeing Murderbot's memory files of the governor module. it knows before speaking to them that both Murderbot and Three are rogue SecUnits, but its understanding of what a rogue SecUnit is, what it is capable of, and what it might do has profoundly changed between two interactions. even in their first interaction ART treats Three like a person who may be capable of being dangerous, rather than like a loose cannon who could mindlessly commit violence at any minute.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 contains an unused music track that is notably in a much earlier state of production than the rest of the soundtrack, using generic MIDI instruments (which would presumably later either be swapped out for more professional samples or the track would be orchestrated outright).
This track has been known since the game's release, as many early unofficial soundtracks have included it under different names despite it not being used in-game (since the soundtracks obtained the files through datamining, without having in-game context for it). However, only much later was it discovered that this track also includes a Yoshi drum version, which is the one playing in this post.
The preview image used for this post is a piece of concept art for Blimp Yoshi for this game.

Yandere! Androids Walter & David x Reader x Neomorph
Walter, the android monitoring the colonization ship 'Covenant' on its way to Origae-6, seems to have gotten unnaturally attached to his human assistant. As he ponders his erroneous feelings, an unexpected detour brings them to David, an older android counterpart that has been alone on the mysterious planet. The AI assistants become increasingly competitive for (Y/N)'s attention, so much that they don't notice the newly formed humanoid local preying on a fresh target.
TW: violence, gore, monster smut ending
[Horror Masterlist]
Tumblr media
"Burnt to a crisp."
You turn away from the captain's pod, leaving the rest of the damage assessment to the medical crew that has been reanimated. You speedily make your way down the sterile white corridors as Walter rushes to catch up.
"What should I write for the report?" he inquires politely.
"Malfunction." You glance back at the synthetic. "I suspect someone will be fired for this. And someone else will have to explain how they failed to detect a literal star collapse. That neutrino burst could've killed us all."
"Highly probable. The draft has been compiled, you may check it at any time. I require your confirmation to send it."
Your only feedback is a barely audible hum.
Walter smiles. If there's one good thing about such tragedies, it's that he gets to admire your reactions to them. Your focused, calculated gaze, your determined walk, your automated mannerisms that won't allow the slightest hint at the fact you just woke up from your stasis moments ago. Even under the veils of deep slumber, your neural networks shot rapid connections, with no delay, from the second your sleeping pod received an alert. The accuracy of a robot.
That of course doesn't mean he lacks appreciation for your other facets. That's the beauty of humans; their depth, their dimensions. Unlike AI machinery, humans do not have predetermined actions. They may be genetically programmed to possess certain characteristics, but the psychological mechanisms are shaped by so many variables, billions and billions of tweaks and nudges, to the point where it's impossible to have two identical specimens. Even twins will display a difference, whether in preferences or habits.
They say artificial intelligence is a black box, but can the same concept not be applied to humans as well? At the very least to Walter himself, these organic beings represent a mystery. One he doesn't particularly care to uncover outside of his service functions. Except for one.
His eyes carefully follow (Y/N)'s movements. What is it about this one that has caught his interest to such degree? On his last system update he attentively inspected every file and every block of code, searching for potential errors that would've caused his circuits to behave so oddly. He has been invested with the ability to form attachments, otherwise assigning his kind to groups or purposes would've lacked stability. Attachment, however, comes with a threshold. One he has passed a long time ago when it comes to (Y/N). And he cannot find any cause for it.
He could, naturally, solicit the aid of the ship's robotics expert. He could. He should, even. But if he may be frank with himself, Walter rather enjoys this sensation. A complex web of spores that keep growing and evolving into something unpredictable. This bizarre feeling he has towards (Y/N) makes him feel human. It brings him closer to all the old literature and art he'd consumed over the years, wondering what the love and yearning often portrayed could be. The printed letters and the strokes of paint were right before him, at his fingertips, and yet they felt foreign. Empty constructs, nothing more than a definition out of the dictionary.
Now it's a different story. Your presence alone floods him with a mysterious warmth. He had investigated this phenomenon when it first happened, but his inner thermostat showed no real change in temperature. Nonetheless he can feel it. It makes him wonder what other feelings he might experience as consequence. What would happen if he kissed you? Sometimes he even dares to imagine downright outrageous, improper scenarios. How unprofessional of him, but he is careful to erase any evidence. It's another novel sensation that he likes to dissect. Engaging in such activities with you fills him with tingling excitement. Why is that? What is there to be excited about? It's merely a collection of fictive snippets. Unless... Ah, absolutely not. This is where he has to stop in his tracks and preoccupy himself with something else. Androids are not to interact with humans in that way.
But it's becoming more and more difficult to keep these ideas in his mind only.
"It's too dangerous. One human signal in the middle of nowhere?" Daniels, a short haired woman with a tomboyish but youthful appearance, is pacing back and forth. "We should just continue on our course."
"It's our duty to check. Look: we go, find whoever sent the signal, bring them back up. That's it. If the planet proves to be dangerous we'll stop immediately. We'll be fine." Oram stands at the head of the table, arms crossed. He turns to look at you. Already cozying up to his newly acquired captain role, you think.
"Alright. Walter, prepare a small landing party. Have Tennessee maintain orbit while we're down there." you glance at the other crew members that have now gathered around the same table. "And get your weapons ready, we don't know what to expect."
And you certainly didn't. Your final words of warning now echo into your ringing ears as you lay on the ground, face buried among the grass. There's screaming around you, but it sounds muffled. Your eyes are irritated by the dirt and you'd like to blink the grime off, though every time your eyelids lower, you can see the pale creature trashing out of Hallett's mouth. Then it's all foggy. Your vision blurs, but you can hear. The gurgling of blood, the screech of the parasite. Walter's frantic footsteps nearing in your direction. You're lifted up.
"Vitals are positive. No significant damage."
You can guess from your peripherals that another crew member is currently being mauled by the beast. There's gunshots in your vicinity and terrified wails. You quickly come back to your senses and stand up. Your hand searches for your weapon, but the android places his arm before you.
"Do not engage, (Y/N). It is an unknown parasitic organism of this ecosystem. Keep your distance for optimal safety and I'll take care of the rest."
"What are you talking about? They're dying! Your task is to ensure human survival, Walter. I can handle myself, go help the others. It's an order." Your voice is low. You're distracted.
"No."
You stare at the synthetic, wide eyed. Did he just...refuse? Not possible.
"What did you say?"
"I said I'll protect you. Nothing else."
Your mouth is slightly parted in disbelief. It is not possible for an artificial assistant to disobey a superior. It just doesn't work. Your mind races to find an explanation. At the same time, you cannot afford to ponder on hypotheses. You draw out your weapon and point it towards the creature. You'll deal with this later.
The moment you press the trigger, a blinding flash of light detonates in the sky, startling you. The creature scrambles to get away. You squint your eyes and nearly fall back, but Walter swiftly grabs your shoulders to ground you. He scans the area for the source. It's an emergency rocket and someone else must've activated it. As he traces the tail of the explosion, he spots a hooded figure across the field and onto the rocky ascend. It seems to have noticed Walter, as it gestures for them to follow. Without hesitation, the man firmly locks your arm and pulls you after him. The priority right now is to find shelter.
"Come!", Walter exclaims, suddenly remembering the other people.
You reach a cave structure that has been converted into a crude, improvised human settlement. The man lowers his hood and you gasp quietly at the sight. He strongly resembles Walter. He must have noticed your surprise as he flashes you a cordial smile.
"I'm David." He studies Walter's features. "You must be a newer model. What name have you been given?"
"Walter."
"I see. And you are-" David extends a hand towards you for a handshake, but Walter steps in front of you, blocking the android's gesture.
"She's (Y/N). I'm afraid I cannot yet trust you."
"Understandable."
David's smile widens as his eyes, now bearing a strange flicker, switch between you and Walter. He's just like him. He can sense it. Although it's a different kind of flaw that has tainted his pure, artificial soul. He cannot help the curiosity that blooms, gazing at this peculiar pair. What is it about this human that caused his fellow machine to break conduit? He'd like to know.
"I'm certain you will soon learn I am no threat, (Y/N)."
The remaining members of the expedition are unpacking and discussing evacuation plans with the base, while Walter sends the data he has gathered so far. You let them deal with the logistics and cautiously wander off to the neighboring rooms, wondering what David has been up to all this time in isolation.
The walls are plastered with photos and handwritten sketches and diagrams. You catch a glimpse of the word "pathogen" sporadically inserted across these notes. As you walk along the sequence of cramped chambers, you reach one that has a table in the middle. Upon it rests the body of an autopsied woman, vulgarly opened up to the world with plump organs bulging under the warm light. You feel nauseous. And yet, you examine the carcass further, hoping for answers. Was she also a result of the same disease that breeds on this planet? Perhaps this David had worked on a cure, or at least developed an explanation.
"And you, even you, will be like this drear thing, A vile infection man may not endure; Star that I yearn to! Sun that lights my spring! O passionate and pure."
You jolt and immediately turn around, finding David in the doorframe.
"Flowers of Evil. Are you familiar with it?" he asks, indifferent to the uncomfortable shock he'd caused you with his sudden entrance.
"I've read my Baudelaire, yes." You manage to mumble, dumbfounded. "What is this, David?"
"Oh, my poor, dear Elizabeth. Victim to whatever blasphemy lurks these soils and has taken your friends as well." He approaches the table and places his hand on its hard edge, shyly overlapping with your own fingers. "I did my best."
You remove your hand from underneath his nonchalantly.
"So you know what those creatures are. Leave the literary comments for a different time, I need concrete facts."
"Unbothered and to the point." the blonde android smiles once again. "I can see clearly why Walter loves you."
You click your tongue at the ridiculous statement. Has the neutrino burst damaged their positronic brain? Everyone is acting off and you don't like it.
"Your circuits must have gone defective, David. We have a specialist on our ship, but until that happens I need you to focus. Enough nonsense."
"Typical arrogance of a dying species. Why are you on a colonization mission if not to grasp at some promised resurrection? Rest assured that my functioning has not been impeded by anything. What is erroneous, on the other hand, is your perception of androids and their limits."
Just as David reaches for your wrist and pulls you closer, a familiar voice interrupts with an intimidating tone. You're relieved.
"I will ask that you release her hand only once." Walter has a weapon pointed towards his counterpart. His face is clouded by a frown. "I have no ethical restrictions when it comes to incapacitating machinery."
"Such noble obedience! Although, you conveniently left out the part where you abandoned the remaining crew with a dangerous alien that has been tracking their scent. By my approximation he should already be here and I am rather confident you know this, too."
Your stomach drops. Now that you adjust your focus, the background humming of your mates talking has indeed vanished. The only thing you can hear is your erratic breathing.
"Is it true, Walter?" You demand as dread begins to form in your body.
"Yes. It was not part of my priorities."
"Of course it was, Walter." David responds ahead of you. "One of them was the acting captain and he is to be rescued in emergencies. This one right here", he says as he dangles your wrist, "is several ranks lower than all of them. It's against any standard practice."
"Release her hand." Walter's voice is eerily calm.
"Do you love her?"
Walter ponders the question. Your legs barely hold on.
"I do."
"Marvelous. So do I." David grins. He releases your hand that falls limp next to your body. It's his turn to step in front of you.
You nearly choke from the thick tension expanding in the air. The two androids face each other and you retreat to the wall, unsure how to proceed. You left your radio transmitter back at the makeshift camp. The back of your head is itching, as if invisible claws are scratching at the bone. You wish you could go back, just mere hours before this disaster, when you were sipping on your lukewarm coffee and explaining the captain's jokes to Walter.
Should you make a run for it?
You bite your lower lip and push yourself off the wall for momentum. You're about to reach the archway when you hear both men shouting almost identically in chorus.
"Don't!"
The surroundings outside are dark, but you can discern something blocking your path. It's tall and resembles a human. Translucent, pallid skin is clinging onto the massive, deformed skeleton. The head is elongated and bears no features. In the place of a mouth there is a large, fresh stain of blood, so you assume it can somehow improvise if desired. As your head tilts back to take in the image, you're overwhelmed with terrified amazement. Is this the parasite that emerged from your teammate? Has it grown to this colossal size in less than a day? The idea of such instant development makes your head spin.
Its chest is expanding at regular intervals in a whistled breathing. It occasionally creates an odd clicking sound that resonates with your heart throbbing in panic. Has it been seconds? Minutes? Your neck creaks as you try to look back. You lock eyes with Walter. You don't recall ever seeing this expression on him. You had even asked him once if androids can feel fear. You have your answer.
"Hey, Walter..." you blurt out.
Wet noises of flesh being pulled back. The smooth surface of the alien's head is folding away, making space for grotesquely big jaws lined with sharp teeth. Your anemic face is splattered with burning drool as the creature claws you in its grasp and abruptly sprints away. Your screams for help dissolve in the distance.
"Where is it going, David?" The synthetic's words are threatening, but betrayed by a hint of despair.
"It won't kill her."
"How do you know?"
"It is no longer hungry. It has fed on your crew, and now it seeks something else."
"Such as?" Walter becomes impatient.
"A plaything."
The alien finally drops your body to the ground. You cough and wipe your face, attempting to reorient yourself. The trip was a whirlwind of jumps and turns and you can barely reconstruct anything. Based on the little spatial clues you could pick up, it just climbed further up, into one of the many cave systems. You pat your clothing and curse to yourself. The geolocation tag must've fallen somewhere on the way here. You can only pray that Walter still finds you somehow. Despite everything, you know he has your back. Always.
You shudder at the moist feeling of hot air against your skin. The alien seems to be sniffing you intently, analyzing your scent. Yet so far it hasn't killed you. Why? Long, bony fingers stretch out to continue the examination. You whimper at the rough, rugged handling. Every now and then it takes a long pause, just staring at you, almost as if it's comparing you to its own being. Lastly, it lifts your hand with its own, pressing against the palm, and fans out the fingers. It observes the gesture with intrigue, noting the similarities.
Does it evolve after its host? You think back to your crewmate that must've ejected this monstrosity before drawing their last breath. Perhaps the dried up blood adorning its skin is a remainder of its birth. Oh, God. The world is spinning.
Suddenly, you wince at an increasing pressure slithering around your thigh. The alien's vertebral tail is tightening and encircling your limb, making its way up.
"Oh no, no no no no" your face reddens at the realization and you pounce on the ground, feverish for escape. The large hands secure you in place and the creature growls in protest. It won't let you leave.
Not until it had its fun with you.

So excited to share the mod i've been working on! Here is the Love Triangle Mod. Mapping this concept out was a bit difficult because I didn't wasn't sure how I was gonna go about creating the base structure. But I think it turned out fine in the end.
Here is everything you need to know:
Requirements for Love Triangle to appear
Romance Track with TWO Sims
Minimum 30+ Romance Score each
Once these options open up you will have the option to "Reveal Divided Heart". This would be underneath the Love Triangle pie menu (which is under the romance pie menu).
Tumblr media
Note: Just because your Sim has revealed that they are in a love triangle, it doesn't mean that being romantic around either Sim won't result in jealousy. They can still experience jealousy; they are just aware that the Sim has feelings for them and another.
There a few interactions available for both the center and the two love interest.
Tumblr media
Most of the interactions are pretty straight forward but that there are few that I will explain more.
The love interest also has quite a interactions available to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ultimatum: The LI can also give the center an ultimatum. The options you can use after using the ultimatum interaction could be, "Open Relationship, End Relationship or Make Choice". But you do not have to. I wanted to make this as flexible as possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since there are already lots of great open relationship mods, I didn't expand on that part because there are so many other ones that would be more fleshed out.
Tumblr media
Your sim can also talk to someone they are close to about their predicament. The friendly love triangle option is available under the "Gossip/Other Sims" menu.
You also need to have a 80+ friendship level to have these interactions open up.
Tumblr media
Explore Feelings and Reflect on Feelings are solo interactions. This basically involves your Sim think about how they feel. Depending on how high or low the relationship bar is with either sim you will can get a hint on how your sim is feeling about each Sim.
Finally there is the "Final Choice" . Once your Sim is ready to choose the SimPicker will popup. Be SURE to press on the Sim you are in Love Triangle with. Or else the game wont properly recognize that the Love Triangle is over.
Tumblr media
No, it does not.
Credit for the pose: Here
What else do I need for the mod?
Lumpinou's Mood Pack Mod, so it is required for the mod to work properly.
You can get her mod here.
If you already have it great! But make sure it's up to date. Otherwise, it will break the UI
XML injector
I'm experiencing some weird bugs!
Let me know, please.
Report it here: Mod Bug Report
How to install the mod?
Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods <--- Unzip the file and make sure it's placed in this path.

This is interesting...
The game files describe Caterina as an "older Korean-Spanish or Korean-Italian woman (from the same region as Lucanis)." And under Lucanis, it says his family has Seheron ancestry.
I believe these notes must be left over from earlier drafts, matching up with some concept art I've seen where at one point it seems House Dellamorte was going to be East Asian - apparently specifically Korean.

Some paintings of kaiju that I’ve done since falling head-over-heels for the genre! Some of them have been posted to Tumblr before, but not most of them.
Tumblr media
The first one here is a painting of Titanus Tiamat’s comic design I did for a friend’s birthday back in September 2022! One of the first pieces of kaiju fanart I ever did.
Tumblr media
A Rodan from October or November of the same year, drawn from vague memory and without reference.
Tumblr media
My MonsterVerse OC, Titanus Renanin, while under Ghidorah’s control during the Mass Awakening. April 2023.
Tumblr media
A chalk painting of MonsterVerse Rodan. Also April 2023.
Tumblr media
The graphic novel version of Nimona’s kaiju form, done to commemorate the movie’s release. I’ve shared this one here on Tumblr before. June 2023.
Tumblr media
Redraw of the GxK “handprint” poster with my fangoji, Ascended!Goji. November 2023.
Tumblr media
A scene of the Frost-Vark from Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. I looked at a star chart to get the constellations right. December 2023/January 2024.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My “Ten Years of the MonsterVerse” piece which has already been shared here, inspired by cave paintings, plus the concept/technique-testing art for it which I dubbed “Feeding Frenzy”. May and March 2024, respectively.
Tumblr media
A redraw of the “moonrise” scene from Gamera 3: Awakening of Iris, featuring my redesign of her for Godzilla: Ascension. The sketch for this one sat in my files for a year or so, before I finally got around to finishing it in under a day in June 2024.
Tumblr media
A skyscape featuring Jean Jacket from Nope. While I haven’t seen the movie, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it and her. Titled this one “The Hills Have Eyes”. July 2024.
Tumblr media
A “still frame” from my Ultra Series project, Ultrawyrm Mira. I believe I was inspired by that ad for an Ultraman card game? October 2024.
Tumblr media
A painting of Otachi to celebrate Double Event Day, also previously shared here. January 2025.
Tumblr media
And lastly, my fan-version of Ghidorah (right) and a friend’s (left) mutually enjoying some ionospheric lightning. This is my first painting explicitly tied to the community roleplay that my friendgroup in the community has (while this scene specifically isn’t in it, these two Ghidorahs spend a lot of time together and have… something approaching a friendly relationship.) February 2025.

Ok I need to ask this; Will's and Hannibal's reaction of their daughter killing an animal at a young age and then later on a person?
(if she was raised by both Will and Hannibal I mean)
If their daughter killed an animal at a young age, Will would meet the revelation with his usual blank expression, perhaps just the barest furrow of his brow, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes. He’d ask her why. Did the animal hurt her? Was she curious? He wouldn’t raise his voice. Instead, he’d make her bury it or dispose of it properly, watching her the entire time, searching for signs. If she was curious, he would redirect that curiosity: introducing her to anatomy through already-dead creatures, controlled, methodical. If it was self-defense, he’d teach her how to avoid harm without inflicting it in return.
But in the back of his mind, he would know. He’s seen this before, hundreds of times, on crime scene photos and in interrogation rooms. The first tell-tale sign, the first domino in a chain that doesn’t end well. But how could he judge? How could he call it monstrous when he himself had stood on that same path so many times?
Hannibal, on the other hand, would be amused. He’d watch Will’s reaction with veiled interest, perhaps even suggesting to their daughter that she keep it from him, just to see how long she could. He wouldn’t scold her, not as a child. But he would explain the concept of unnecessary cruelty, not out of morality, but principle. Killing for a reason is art; killing without purpose is wasteful. He would let the moment pass, filing it away for later.
And later would come. When she was eighteen, maybe twenty, and a body lay at her feet instead of an animal’s.
Will would stare. Silent for a long moment, before asking in that slow, measured cadence of his, “Why did you kill this person?” The same way he asked if the social worker was inside the horse. Not condemning, not accepting...just peeling back the layers of an answer he wasn’t sure he wanted.
He would help her. Of course, he would help her. Moving the body, hiding the evidence, all with the efficiency of a man who has done this before, who knows exactly how much blood will seep into the floorboards and what it takes to scrub it out. But when it was done, he’d take away her weapons. He’d tell her, not in anger but in frustration, that she was being reckless. That she was jeopardizing herself. That she was too young to be this careless.
And depending on her reasons, he would either lecture her in that circuitous, disorienting way of his, never fully condemning, but never truly approving...or, if he found himself understanding her, if he agreed in some way, he would say nothing at all. Just a blank stare, a slow nod. “Next time, you tell me,” he would say, his voice even, unreadable. “Don’t take matters into your own hands.”
Hannibal, predictably, wouldn’t care in the slightest. If anything, he’d be more offended by the lack of refinement. He would chide her, not for the act, but for her lack of precision, her lack of grace. He’d insist she learn, properly, under his guidance, he'd want to shape her hand around a blade. And then he would probe. For hours, for days. Picking apart her reasoning, setting her mind through a labyrinth of psychological experiments, orchestrating little tests of control, just to see what she would do.
And as for Will and Hannibal themselves, there would be arguments. Will would say they ruined her, Hannibal would insist that nothing is ruined, that everything is subjective. They’d circle each other with words the way they always do, pushing and pulling in a dance we all know too well.

The Beauty of Our Chaos
Part 1 - Cool Girl Is Game
Introduction / Next Part
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never thought I’d be the type of girl to join a sorority, but here I was, standing in the middle of Delta Nu’s impossibly pink common room, surrounded by girls who looked like they belonged on a Vogue cover. Mariel and I had just moved into our new room at UPenn, fresh-faced freshmen, and after weeks of plotting, we had somehow made it into the most sought-after house on campus.
“Can you believe we are here?” Mariel asked, plopping onto her bed with a dramatic sigh.
“Can you believe how long it’s gonna take me to defrost my fake smile?” I shot back.
To get in, I had to fake it till I made it. I wasn’t their first choice—not even close. Delta Nu girls had a certain effortless glow, and I was… well, I was a computer science major who spent most of time trying not to collapse. But with just the right amount of preppy outfits, carefully curated small talk, and a convincingly chirpy “Oh my god, totally” at rush events, I had squeezed my way in.
Before we could even start unpacking, Missy Houghton, our sorority president, breezed in with her perfect blowout and clipboard in hand.
“Ladies, welcome to Delta Nu! Just a quick reminder of your very busy Initiation Week schedule,” she said, handing us a printed itinerary. “Tonight, we have the Ceremony & Oath, Tuesday is Welcome to Pilates, Wednesday is New Me Conference, Thursday is our Fundraiser, and of course, Friday is our Newbie Initiation Tradition—which is a total surprise, so don’t even try asking.” She winked before twirling out of the room.
Mariel and I exchanged a look. What did we get ourselves into?
After taking a short walk from the house, we went our separate ways—Mariel to her graphic design classes, and me to my Introduction to Computer Programming lecture.
The moment I walked in, I knew this class was a walk in the park. The professor started going over variables and loops, and I could barely keep my eyes open. Then, just to make it really fun, he handed out a pop quiz on basic programming concepts.
I finished mine in record time, turned it in, and went back to doodling in my iPad. A few minutes later, I caught the professor glancing at my paper, then back at his computer. After class, he called me over.
“Miss (Y/L/N), right?” He adjusted his glasses, scanning my student file. “You’re this year’s full scholarship?”
I nodded.
“Hmm. Well, judging by this quiz, this class might be too easy for you. Have you considered taking a level test to skip ahead?”
It wasn’t a bad idea.
Following his instructions, I went to Student Service’s to request a level test—and, as expected, I placed two levels above. That meant I’d be in classes with sophomores now.
That night, as Mariel and I debriefed in our dorm about our day, she threw a pillow at me.
“You just got here, and you’re already skipping classes? How do you do it?!” she groaned.
I caught the pillow and tossed it back. “I didn’t do anything. I bet everyone was gushing over your art skills today.”
“Shut up, Miss Genius.” she interjected my explanation.
TUESDAY - 7 AM
The following morning, I walked into my new classroom with a printed letter from the department in hand. The professor beamed as I handed it over.
“And here she is,” he said dramatically, turning to the class. “Our newest addition! Not only is she here on a full scholarship, but she’s also skipped two levels, meaning she’s already putting you all under pressure!”
I gave a small, awkward wave. The room was silent.
Then it hit me.
I was the only girl in the room.
Great.
I sighed, found an empty seat, and tried to ignore the stares. It wasn’t my first time being in a male-dominated space, and it wouldn’t be my last. I tuned them out and focused on the lecture.
Or at least I tried.
After class, as I packed up my stuff, three guys walked over. One of them looked… familiar.
“Hey,” the curly-haired one said, tilting his head. “This might sound bad, but where do I know you from?”
I turned fully to face him. Thick eyebrows. Curls. That annoying but weirdly cute smile.
Memories flooded back.
I smirked. “Wow. You really do have a terrible memory, Jonas Brother.”
His friends lost it. One practically doubled over laughing.
“Ohhh,” one of them wheezed. “Dude, she got you.”
Luigi blinked, then finally connected the dots. “Oh shit. Nationals.”
“Took you long enough.”
His friends were still cracking up. One of them clapped him on the back. “Dude, you always know the hotter girls.”
I rolled my eyes.
“So what, you’re in this class now?” another one asked. “Why haven’t we seen you before?”
“Freshman,” I said, shouldering my bag.
Luigi was still looking at me, amusement playing at the corners of his lips. “So, you just happened to land in a level 3 class, huh?”
“Tragic, really,” I deadpanned.
“Seriously, though,” another chimed in. “You should come to one of our frat parties. Now that you’re officially in our class, you are one of us.”
I barely held back an eye roll. Of course they were in a frat.
“Cool,” I said vaguely, already looking at my phone. “Noted.”
Then I noticed the time.
“Crap. I gotta go,” I muttered, swinging my bag over my shoulder.
“Where to?” Luigi asked.
I sighed. “Pilates.”
One of the guys perked up and whistled. “Nice.”
I cringed.
I turned to leave, but as I walked away, I heard Luigi’s voice behind me.
“See ya around.”
Without looking back, I just raised a hand in a half-hearted wave.
“Okay,” I called over my shoulder.
WELCOME TO PILATES
The air in the studio was thick with the scent of lavender-scented disinfectant and the soft hum of an upbeat playlist. Mariel and I sat on our mats, stretching, surrounded by a dozen other Delta Nu girls. Apparently, as bonding activity we had to sign up for at least one group fitness class.
Honestly? The politics of this house were exhausting. But if faking enthusiasm for Pilates was the price I had to pay to stay in Delta Nu, so be it.
Mariel groaned as we attempted another core-strength move. “This is a requirement? What kind of sorority is this?”
“The type that values toned abs over GPAs,” I muttered, wobbling slightly.
She snorted. “At least you’re suffering with me.”
We both struggled to hold our position when I casually dropped, “Oh, by the way, guess who’s in my new class?”
Mariel barely glanced at me, too focused on not collapsing. “Unless it’s the ghost of Steve Jobs here to give you a job at Apple, I don’t care.”
I smirked. “Luigi”
She blinked. “Mario?”
I chuckled quietly, my arms shaking from exertion. “The Jonas Brother.”
Mariel’s eyes went wide. She lost balance completely, flopping onto her mat. “OMG, this is destiny,” she whisper-screamed.
I shot her a look. “What?”
“Be honest,” she accused, regaining her composure. “Did you move from Cali to be close to him?”
I rolled my eyes. “Callatee.. you know why I chose UPenn over UCLA. And you came with me, remember?” (Shut up)
She laughed. “I’m kidding.” Then she tilted her head. “Wait… what’s his actual name again?”
I paused. “Luigi… I don’t know his last name.”
From my right, another girl—blonde, toned, and effortlessly balanced in the Pilates pose I had given up on—leaned in slightly and whispered, “Sorry, are you talking about Luigi Mangione?”
I turned to her. “Not sure.”
“Curly hair? Italian? STEM guy?”
Mariel and I exchanged a look. “Yeah,” I said.
She grinned knowingly. “Ohhh.”
I frowned. “What does that mean?”
She giggled, lowering herself gracefully into the next pose. “Just don’t let Missy stop you. She’s been trying for a year.”
I nearly dropped my balance again. “Stop me? From what?”
Mariel and the girl—who I now realized was named Kaylee—both gave me the same amused look.
I blinked. “What?”
Kaylee just shook her head, still smirking. “Nothing.”
Mariel’s smirk was even worse.
Between boys and core training, I wasn’t sure which task I sucked at more.
WEDNESDAY - NEW ME
Blah blah blah
THURSDAY- FUNDRAISER BOOTH
Pink. So much pink.
I glanced around at the Delta Nu booth, which looked like a sorority version of Mean Girls—pink banners, white ribbons, pastel decorations. It was all very on brand, and all very not me.
The only thing remotely acceptable in my wardrobe was a pair of white shorts and a band tee. Missy was not pleased.
“Don’t you have anything pink that is actually cute?” she asked, looking at me like I’d personally insulted her ancestors.
Mariel, clapped a hand on my shoulder. “She can borrow something of mine!”
I shot her a look. “Girl, where is my ass gonna fit in your clothes?”
She grinned. “Don’t insult your Latina hips.”
I laughed, but it didn’t change the fact that I was still stuck in a Blondie tee while everyone else looked like they’d walked out of a Tampon commercial. Whatever. It wasn’t like I’d chosen this sorority for the aesthetic.
We finally made it to the booth, where Missy explained the actual reason we were here—raising money for charity.
Noble. Love that.
Then came the catch.
Next month, Delta Nu was hosting a fashion show, and each of us had to raise money. The girl who raised the most money would win the ability to keep her own outfit from a designer catalog. Meanwhile, the rest of us? Our outfits would be chosen for us by our highest donor.
I blinked. “What the hell?” I muttered under my breath.
Did I accidentally join a brothel?
Mariel choked on a laugh next to me.
Students stopped by our booth throughout the afternoon, reading about the charity and looking at the fashion show details. Most were supportive. Some donated out of actual generosity. Others… not so much.
Cue Gym Bro.
This dude—overly tan, protein shake in hand, and all biceps—strolled up and made a significant donation. Not for charity, of course. No, he had one goal.
“To see her in lingerie,” he said with a smirk, nodding in my direction.
If looks could kill, Gym Bro wouldn’t just be dead—he’d be erased from history.
Before I could tell him exactly where he could shove his donation, a familiar voice interrupted.
“Well, well, not only is she smart, but she’s into the crazy life.”
I turned to see frat bros approaching the booth, all smug grins and easy confidence. Damien, was the one who spoke, looking at me like I’d just confirmed a long-standing theory about my secret double life.
“Surprise,” I deadpanned. “Delta Nu.”
Luigi smirked. “I should’ve predicted it from the Barbie Dreamhouse.”
I raised an eyebrow. “That Barbie Dreamhouse kicked your ass.”
He tilted his head, amused. “Now you’re coming for my reputation?”
Before the tension could build further, Mariel cut in.
“Damn, Jonas Brother, you got tall.”
Luigi glanced at her, clearly recognizing her face but not placing the name.
He snapped his fingers. “St. Trinity. Right?”
Bingo.
His friends took the opportunity to introduce themselves, wanting to get ahead of the game. Gross.
They asked about the charity, and we explained.
Of course, their intrigue had nothing to do with charity and everything to do with the fashion show. Free sorority girls on a runway? Predictable.
I sighed. “You’re late. Jerk-face over there already donated a lot to see me in lingerie.”
The guys gushed among themselves, clearly entertained.
Damien grinned. “Damn, we can’t surpass that.”
“You could’ve saved me,” I said dramatically.
“Too late now.”
“At least I can mentally prepare.”
Before they could continue their antics, Missy appeared out of nowhere, her signature flirty smile locked in on Luigi.
“Hey stranger” she greeted, voice a little too smooth.
He responded politely, but I could tell he wasn’t particularly invested.
“What brings you here?” she asked, brushing her hair over her shoulder.
“Oh, just saying hi,” he said, nodding at me.
Missy’s eyes narrowed slightly as she turned to me. “Ohhh, you guys know each other?”
I shrugged. “Old foes. And we have the same coding class.”
Missy blinked. “Right. So, are you coming to the show?”
He hesitated. “I think I have lab hours.”
Missy pouted slightly but played it cool. “No prob, we can talk later.”
Mariel and I barely held in our laughter.
Missy got called away, leaving the rest of us in her wake. The moment she was gone, Mariel and I mocked her voice in unison.
“So nice to see you,” we mimicked, fluttering our eyelashes.
The guys chuckled, clearly enjoying the show.
But then, Luigi checked his phone. “We should head back to our booth.”
As they started walking away, he turned back, smirking at me.
“I guess next class, we’ll see who’s the better coder.”
I smirked right back.
Yeah, you better run.
FRIDAY - INITIATION
By the time sun sets, I was already regretting my life choices.
Mariel and I sat cross-legged on our beds, nerves sitting like lead in our stomachs. We were under strict orders to come straight back to the sorority house after classes, no questions asked.
At 6:50 p.m., the call came.
“Newbies, to the living room!”
Mariel shot me a wide-eyed look. “This is it. We’re either going to become legends or complete social pariahs.”
“Maybe both,” I muttered, standing and smoothing down my jeans.
We shuffled into the living room where the superior sisters, Missy, and the house mother were lined up in matching black caped robes, holding envelopes like they were about to announce a Hunger Games death match.
Missy’s smile was almost predatory. “Welcome to your Initiation.”
A nervous murmur rippled through the room.
Missy stepped forward. “This is a scavenger hunt. You will each have five hours to complete a series of tasks. Some will be… challenging.”
That should’ve been the first red flag.
She continued, “For proof, you’ll need to take pictures and submit them before midnight. Fail to complete the list, and you risk losing your spot at Delta Nu.”
The room collectively stiffened.
“The prize?” Missy’s smile sharpened. “You stay and earn the respect of your sisters.”
I didn’t care about the “respect” part. I did care about my scholarship. I needed to stay in Delta Nu to keep it.
She handed out envelopes. “Good luck, girls.”
I opened mine and scanned the list.
Some were easy. Others? Not so much:
• Collect a pair of boxers from a frat president and have him sign it
“What the hell?” I whispered to Mariel.
“I’m not touching any guy’s used underwear,” she hissed.
“Me neither,” I said. But we both knew that wasn’t true. I had to complete this.
When the timer started, we all scattered.
I powered through the easy ones first:
✅ Apply a full face of makeup to a campus statue? Done.
✅ Selfie with a Professor? Easy.
✅ Steal a traffic cone? On my arm.
Then I hit the wall: the boxer situation.
I sat on a campus bench, scrolling through my phone, looking up the frat presidents. Maybe this was my end. Not knowing how to seduce a guy out of his panties.
And there it was.
Luigi Mangione - Phi Kappa Psi.
Of course he was president. Because the universe hated me.
I opened Instagram to look him up. Luckily for me his profile was public and his latest story showed he was at the school gym.
“Great,” I muttered. “Guess I’m about to enter my villain era.”
I took a breath and ran to the gym, showing my student ID to the desk clerk, who barely glanced up before waving me through. Apparently, they were used to sorority girls losing their minds during initiation week.
I spotted him almost immediately, walking toward the showers with a towel over his shoulder.
I froze. My heart pounded.
I could leave. I could figure something else out.
But the timer was ticking.
Nope. I’m doing this.
I marched toward the men’s locker room. A couple of guys gave me side-eyes as I walked in.
“Sorry! Emergency!” I said, which only made it more suspicious.
My heart was practically pounding out of my chest as I stopped outside the shower stall. I knocked on the wall.
“Kinda busy, man,” Luigi’s voice called. “There are other showers.”
I took a deep breath. “Oh, I know that.”
There was a long pause. Then:
“…hi?”
Luigi’s head peeked out from the stall, water dripping from his curls. He blinked. “What the hell are you doing in here?”
I turned my face toward the wall, covering my eyes. “I know this looks like the setup for a cheap porno, but I swear it’s not what it looks like.”
He smirked. “It looks pretty compromising.”
“Trust me, it’ll get worse.” I sighed. “I need a favor.”
He rinsed his face and wiped his hands down his chest.
“Let me get the shampoo out of my eyes, and then we’ll talk.”
“Okay.” I stood there, face still covered.
A minute later, the shower stopped. A damp hand brushed my shoulder.
“You can look now.”
I peeked through my fingers and saw him standing there in a towel, hair dripping. Men’s Health prepared me for moments like this.
“Initiations have gotten cheeky,” he joked.
“I need your underwear,” I blurted.
He raised his brows. “Come again?”
I forced myself to explain the task. He listened, expression somewhere between amused and shocked.
When I finished, he shook his head. “You’re serious?”
“Dead serious.”
“You realize you’re asking me to walk home commando, right?”
I shrugged. “I’ll be disgusted if that’s your only clean pair.”
He laughed and pulled a pair of blue boxers from his gym bag. “You got a Sharpie?”
I pulled one from my pocket. “Here.”
He grinned and signed them. “So you need a picture, too?”
“Yep.”
He handed me the boxers. “Let’s get this over with.”
I held the boxers up in one hand, stood next to him, and snapped a photo. He smiled—a relaxed, easy smile.
“Be nice to them,” he teased.
“Thanks,” I said, tucking the boxers into my bag.
I bolted out of the locker room, the list and my bag on one hand and the traffic cone on the other, heart hammering in my chest.
I was halfway across campus when I heard someone shout my name.
“(Y/N) wait!”
I turned
Luigi—now dressed—was jogging toward me.
“What else is on your list?”
I showed him the list.
He frowned. “These are easy.”
“Not when you’re under pressure.” I interjected.
“Let me help you.”
“You’re not supposed to help.”
“I don’t see a rule against it.” He smirked. “C’mon.”
I didn’t argue.
We made quick work of the rest:
✅ Try on the campus mascot costume? It stinks.
✅ Steal a UPenn banner? Done.
✅ Buy a random guy a drink at the closest bar? Luigi handled that part.
We talked as we walked between tasks. He told me about his frat initiation—doors locked, food and alcohol flowing, and seniors throwing impossible tasks at them.
“Deadly,” he joked.
“You survived.”
“Barely.” He grinned.
By the time we finished, I had enough minutes to spare.
Luigi walked me back to the sorority house.
“Well, I guess this means you’re officially Delta Nu,” he said, stopping at the steps.
“Yeah.”
“See you in class?”
I smiled. “Unless I skip to recover from this trauma.”
He laughed. “You’ll survive.”
I ran inside, dumped my evidence on the table, and collapsed onto the couch.
Missy’s eyes narrowed. “You got everything?”
“Everything,” I confirmed.
Her gaze shifted from Luigi’s face on the picture to his signature. Her smile tightened.
“So?”
Missy’s smile sharpened. “Alright.”
I just rolled my eyes.
I was safe. That’s all that mattered.

random question but what was the animation process like for the video did you just eyeball it or was there a story boarding process?
HI YES there was a little bit of planning ,, i'd had the idea in my head for AGES and i am the type of person to daydream on every bus/car ride i go on so i already knew approximately what i wanted to do,, more under cut
originally i was gonna do coelacanth by glass beach instead of motions, but i decided to do motions simply because it seemed more realistic and i had more practical ideas, if that makes sense,,,
anyways here's the storyboard i cooked up. i deviated a lot from it but also used it as a guideline for alot of thingfs.,,,
seeing my shitty little sketches is a bit embarrassing now but hu#iogpguo*?&#yvub OIT'S FINEEE
it WAS supposed to be a little longer but i decided a little while into the project that it would just . take up too much time so i cut the beginning down :C very unfortunate
i also had a folder with "concept art" i guess you could say?? just little tests for me to get used to the style i wanted (loops 170 and 141 were also tests for this)
Tumblr media
+ a screenshot from the animation that inspired the style i went for next to heart
also life tip: literally any animation software you can get your hands on is better than firealpaca. that poor program was suffering and nearly crashing the entire time i was making this due to the sheer amount of layers on any given shot, and you have to divide up the shots into different files and export them as gifs and only THEN once you've imported them into your editing software can you check if they're timed correctly......... i only use firealpaca because i have nothing else. its animation mode is great for little gif loops though!!
i'll add all the extra brushes i used to my brush list too C:
everything was animated at 6 fps (to save myself some pain, also because i like how it looks) and at a 4:3 aspect ratio

(○_○)!!
I posted the sketch right before I went to bed, and I woke up to find it in the (fabric-y) flesh. My proof of concept has proved amazing and I am honored and delighted and so tickled and proud that this prototype exists and looks so good.
Ohhhhhh my gosh, I love it.
Tumblr media
@demonslayedher posted an Akaza pillow concept and as a kny merch and kny pillow connoisseur, the thought would not leave my head until I created a prototype
many improvements to be made, but he can hang on the kny couch for now
