15 Leading Causes of Obesity in India and How to Combat It!
Obesity is a growing concern in India, driven by various interconnected factors. The rise in sedentary lifestyles, fueled by urbanization and increased screen time, has led to decreased physical activity among all age groups. Changing dietary patterns, with a shift from traditional foods to processed and high-calorie diets, exacerbate this issue. Socioeconomic disparities further contribute to the obesity epidemic, as lower-income families often rely on inexpensive, unhealthy foods.

What rice doesn’t spike blood sugar?
rice that doesn't spike blood sugar?
can white rice spike blood sugar?
does rice spike your blood sugar?
does rice flour spike blood sugar?
To be honest there is not a single rice variety that doesn’t spike blood sugar at all. Every rice variety does. Only difference is: some spike more; some less.

Discipline is the Key to Treat Obesity
In a world where new sets of food are everywhere like milk tea, burger and fries, fried ice cream, doughnut and pizza, eating whatever the time is has become a lifestyle. That is why unbalanced diet which can turn to obesity is one of the prevalent problems when it comes to health.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to Stanford Health Care, obesity means having an unhealthy amount of body fat which can put someone’s health in danger. This can lead to greater risk for type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, some types of cancer, and stroke.
Treatment involves a long-term plan for making lifestyle changes. Medicine or surgery is sometimes used.
The health sector has important responsibilities for the treatment of obesity. Medical care system is just part of a much larger health system that contribute to the prevention and treatment of obesity. They are health educators, employers, and sometimes payers (for example, through philanthropy). In these roles, they can be advocates for evidence-based change.
Nevertheless, though the health sector extends its help if discipline is lacking to the persons who are having this kind of health problem, being obese, treatment would be impossible.
Based on the article published by NCBI, there is a belief that it is under the personal control of the individual. This focus on individual responsibility in turn leads to a culture of victim-blaming that is particularly evident within society – read any online media story about obesity and you will see a proliferation of comments on the story that reinforce the view that obesity is simply a result of eating too much and moving too little; suggesting the behavior is entirely under the control of the individual, who just needs to develop some “willpower”. It is therefore not surprising that active discrimination against fatness is prevalent and that the perception of personal responsibility is so strongly held in society that it also persists in health settings
Hence, the best way to address this health problem is to start within one’s self. We must have the discipline to manage our eating habits.

Can we eat poha daily?
Is it good to eat poha everyday?
Can I eat poha everyday in breakfast?
Can I have poha daily for weight loss?
In its simplest form Poha can cause a serious impact on blood glucose, as it is a refined carb.
According to Dr. Jason Fung, the author of The Obesity Code: “Refined carbohydrates are easy to become addicted to and overeat precisely because there are no natural satiety hormones for refined carbs. The reason, of course, is that refined carbohydrates are not natural foods but are highly processed. Their toxicity lies in that processing.”

Obesity
Did you know that over 60% of adults in the UK are classified as overweight or obese...Obesity has wide ranging consequences from Diabetes to risk of cardiovascular disease...Being active (along with a healthy diet) can make significant changes for our health.
I get that not everyone enjoys the gym but being active and making little changes can start by taking the stairs as opposed to the lift or escalator, walking more, dancing, even gardening. Simple little changes can also change how we feel and will have a positive impact on our health. Among the myriad of activities there will surely be one that will fit each person. For your own health (physical and mental) be more active and move your body! If you find that you have been less active in the last few months due to the lockdown this is the time to change things…

Antioxidants in Indian gooseberry help maintain cardiovascular health and boost immunity
Antioxidants in Indian gooseberry help maintain cardiovascular health and boost immunity
Dietary supplements are made from different natural sources, but they have one common purpose: to support a person’s bodily functions and systems.
