Where is the International protection the Palestinian people is entitled to when the occupying power violates international law and harms those it is obliged to protect. Aren't Palestinians lives worth saving?

Kinda obsessed with the historical context of Rise of the Guardians. Pitch wanting the Dark Ages to come back, which historically was the decline of culture and records. The Guardians rose at the same time as the Renaissance with the rise of culture, knowledge, and science. (Tooth in particular mentions that she hasn’t been out in the field for 440 years, give or take, which would put that smack dab in the middle of the Renaissance)
The way Pitch doesn’t want the world to change, the way the Guardians change in tune with the world. The way Jack, who lived in has a human in the 17th or 18th century, who lived in the time after the Renaissance and lived witnessing the world all the way to the modern era, is there to show the Guardians how much they missed and how they can further change and improve for the more modern world. These characters are immortal beings who have so much power over the world, it makes so much sense that when they fall and rise in power it impacts the world that they want to influence, for better or for worse.

Good fuckin' dammit. BP.

I cannot wait to hold all of my white coworkers who voted trump accountable the next few years.
The ones who told me project 2025 is just rumors
The ones who tell me women aren't as strong as men
And the women who smiled at me the day after the election because they voted for a rapist.
I cannot wait for them to actually understand that I have a personal duty as a white woman to say "bless your heart" and "i will pray for you" in the same way they've done to me since I moved to this state 15 years ago

Sometimes I just watch an episode of The X Files just so I can live in a world where there is a highly intelligent team of people investigating all the ways my government is trying to kill me. They are queer and hot and in love, and have too much plot armor to ever be killed. They never win but they keep trying. When it gets too difficult they kiss each others foreheads and gaze into each other’s eyes.
It’s not that everything is going to be ok. It’s that everything is not ok, but we’re all going to be in love and chase after our own personal Jersey Devils anyway. As long as we stay ready to fight colonization.

Do Not Mistake what Noxus is and isn't.
In light of the topic coming up in recent events, I have to make this clear;
Noxians are hardly ever the good guys, if at all.
My biggest critique to Riot overall is their sentiment of making Noxus a morally grey Nation, but their way of approaching it is this;
For every one good deed Noxus does it's stacked against five bad deeds. Compound that for over a thousand years and you get what they are now. Countless good deeds but five times the bad. And riot will use these good deeds to argue the morally grey idea, although I'd consider Noxus very very dark grey.
Noxus is an expansionist empire. Nothing suggests nor will ever suggest they have any intention to stop. Swain's military is mobilized and active, nothing ever suggests that he stopped or intends to stop. Noxus's vision is that everyone will become Noxians whether they want it or not.
au·thor·i·tar·i·an·ism
/əˌTHôrəˈterēəˌnizəm,ôˌTHôrəˈterēəˌnizəm,äˌTHôrəˈterēəˌnizəm/
noun
the enforcement or advocacy of strict obedience to authority at the expense of personal freedom. "he warned against the intrusion of authoritarianism in various countries"
lack of concern for the wishes or opinions of others. "in his authoritarianism he has displayed disrespect for the culture he works in"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This aspect of Noxus has been ingrained into its culture and way of life for centuries. As a matter of fact, in the most recent timeline of events, Noxus will invade Ionia a second time. Although it comes to question when Riot will touch on this, it is an event that is inevitable.
When Swain rose to power, he instilled new ideals on the concept of strength in Noxus, but the 'Might Makes Right' mentality still exists, even if it goes beyond your physical strength alone now.
Swain is not a pacifist.
Although before Noxus's military would wage war no questions asked, Swain proposed negotiations to places of interest wherever they may be. However, these negotiations are an ultimatum hidden by flowery words. What Noxus really means is, "Join us or die."
And with that in mind, there have been several societies Noxus has enacted this philosophy on. Whether or not people accept Noxus's request for a 'peaceful' solution, chances any who chose the 'sensible' outcome of these choices more than likely values their lives than to challenge them. That isn't to say Noxus hasn't had its fair share of corrupted monarchies they've overthrown themselves. Unjust kings who deserved their beheading. There are two sides to that coin. But this does not undo what they have done to nations unwilling to join them and were content with the lives they had.
Authoritarianism and colonization is an inherently evil act, there is nothing disputing this.
Swain quotes that, as far as we all know, are canonical to how he thinks or acts. What he believes in post-rework:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Swain is a warmonger.
He has intentions to benefit all who fly Noxus's flag and an ideal society he wants to build from the ground up. But the thing is, this ONLY will benefit those who fly Red and Black.
No matter how it's spun, Swain is Tyrannus. A role he shares only with two others who see it the very same as he does.
And before Swain, there was King Sahn-Uzal
Sahn-Uzal, by far, was and still is the most prolific aggressor in the Empire's history, even before the name "Noxus" came to be, when in his reign it was "Noxii."
Sahn-Uzal became Mordekaiser.

It says a lot that Global South people are far more concerned about finding out about the conditions of Palestinians, building trust with Palestinian blogs and their vetting processes and actually finding which GoFundMes to donate to, whereas white and western users first and foremost question is who the scammers are and whether they're getting scammed. And then they can't understand why the white right wing and "fiscally conservative" liberals in their own countries, who distrust the government more than the left and associate poverty and opportunism with minorities, don't want to expand welfare and social security.
It's for the same reason as why you think scammers proliferate more than the millions of people in need, and distrust any minority representatives that offer accountability and advocate for themselves. Why you seek to validate that distrust instead of trying to find information and processes that enable you to trust. The difference between domestic and foreign issues is that white leftists are often poor themselves or live within proximity to poverty and recognise that they themselves are in need of social safety nets. So the brunt of their racist indifference and paranoia of the Other is turned against the people of the Global South victimized by the same colonial capitalist and imperialist military systems.
Paranoia that your empathy, emotional labour and wealth will be exploited is part of white colonial anxiety, that resents its own guilt and sees oppression primarily as a weapon that can be turned against the "privileged but innocent". It's why the tide of leftist support is turning against Palestine after nearly an year of genocide. Accountability for and cessation of the genocide might extract a heavy cost from their domestic politics, and the funds begging private citizens for financial aid are increasing by the thousands in proportion to the amount of tax money their governments are sending to blow those people up. Unable to pay this cost of their complicity, western liberals rationalize that their empathy for Palestine is being exploited and used to extort them. This is the racist fear that liberal Zionists so successfully leverage against Palestinians to sabotage their credibility, protests and cries for help and allyship. Today it's attacks against the credibility of GoFundMes, but in a few months liberals will be questioning the credibility of the genocide itself.
Propaganda works by giving people rationalizations, fallacies and false evidence for things they already want to believe. People are predisposed to despise vulnerability, believe themselves victimized when called to account, and cling to a comfortable status quo. These are the building blocks of fascism. Genocide, colonization and war is the status quo on which the Global North was built, especially the US, and Palestine is the first time this status quo has been so thoroughly disrupted since perhaps the Vietnam War. The easiest way to return to it is to not believe Palestinians, return to deprioritising foreign policy, and giving yourself license to ignore their cries for help by telling yourself that it's "too hard" to find trustworthy information. And Zionists are only too happy to provide justifications, rationalizations and "evidence" to do so.
You have perfect right to delete, block, scroll past or blacklist tags and do whatever you need to draw your own boundaries. That's not in question. What you do need to sit with and examine is this "distrust" and "anger at scammers". If your distrust of asks and GoFundMe accounts is not followed by the will to find and follow Palestinians accounts and trust that they have done all they reasonably can to verify a fundraiser; if you believe that scam accounts truly outnumber the desperate and displaced Gazans who cite internet access as essential to survival as food and water; if you're not willing to run some reasonable risk of being scammed just so you might end up helping a real family being genocided; if you don't consider whether the people casting doubt on the veracity of Palestinian users and GFMs and their vetting process might be racists and Zionist saboteurs speaking to your own biases; then your "distrust" is actually just racism. Are you really angry at scammers or are you trying to validate your distrust and decision to ignore pleas for help by deflecting the blame onto the asker?

Complaining abt Suicide Squad yet again but the fact that they have Waller exposing the alien community to space racist attacks and talking abt how she got to her position through deceit and being a terrible person and stuff is just. Ahsfiwueh JUST SAY YOU DONT KNOW WALLER.
Anyways literally the 3rd mission of the Squad ever (and the first framed as smth Waller picked and not orders from above) was the Squad discrediting and stopping a rogue vigilante who was only arresting POC and funneling white people into white supremacy groups (of which he was the most prominent member) in SUICIDE SQUAD #4. and it's explicitly framed as this mission being personal for Waller that she's hiding from the government bc its illegal like. Guys. Please why are we having her incite (space bc comics) racist attacks now
Also the whole "Amanda got her position through deceit and being a terrible person" NO. she KEPT her position through being shitty and playing complicated political games!!! She wasn't always that way like there is a difference and it is IMPORTANT ppl PLEASEEEE. In Secret Origins #14 we learn Amanda's backstory and she used to be a normal, caring person! Like even after she entered into working in government and politics she wasn't automatically morally bankrupt like please people. She was originally given control of the Squad by Reagan (*sigh* 80s comics...) to distract and get rid of her because she was so successful at pushing progressive social policy in Congress. Acting like she's this static pillar of evil is such a waste of her character and so fucking uninteresting and disrespectful to her arc it drives me MAD.
Like I am NOT saying Waller is all sunshine and rainbows, she fucking SUCKS (said w love <3) but like there's a human being there. It's a progression, she has a character arc like please, DC, please!!! They've fucked up Waller so bad and made her so opaque and uninteresting she can't even be the protagonist of her own story for fucks sake!
Like I don't know how many times I have to scream it until DC hears me or remembers but WALLER IS THE MAIN CHARACTER OF SUICIDE SQUAD. ITS HER BOOK. yet right now she's a cutout to be used as the villain wherever the writers please. Even in her book we get none of her perspective really displayed, no exploration of her thoughts with any kind of understanding of the role she traditionally has played and was made to play in the story.
#its like youre unable to root for her in any form. which is annoying bc shes actually awesome actually#also having her say “actually im the good guy fuck you'' w/o any actual deep analysis of her psyche or whatever while doing these things#doesnt count as development or showing shes 3 dimensional. its just having 2 dimensional waller say shes right when everyone is obviously#supposed to believe shes wrong#anyways i want real waller back please i miss herrrrrrrr#anyways hope mr john ridley has read secret origins no 14. i know its from 1987 but please guys please. my only hope#also it was a few months ago but i think they tried to push certain elements of a diff backstory in dream team and sorry but fuck that. and#any mention of another waller background like my eyes are closed sry. im a preboot truther#actually im just ignorant of most squad comics outside the original series. im gonna do a readthrough and become knowledgeable on other#stuff i just need to find time. so if im wrong then sorry if its smth factual and if you disagree with my opinion then uh sorry for ur loss#anyways shoutout to the time i had a nerd night w my one friend and she was asking me abt dc and said my favorite villains and i said waller#and silver swan. and she had a “yuck WHY” to waller and a ???? to silver swan. love shouting out my faves and explaining them to the less#informed. didnt say a number 3 but would probably be parallax ig. idk hes kind of slay. or maybe someone else honestly i like hal but waller#and nessie are blorbo level for me i could think abt them for hours#or maybe it wouldnt be parallax actually idk who my 3 would be. hes definitely up there but way below the other 2. maybe the cheetah#interpretation that i personally have. v different from the popular cheetah interpretation esp rucka vers actually. much closer to the pérez#and esp develops some subtext there surrounding barbara and the exploitation and theft of sacred cultural artifacts and pieces but also#like british colonization a lil bit#but i actually despise the cheetah that lives in my head but think shed be interesting to use narratively and see diana fight#vs the other guys who i find interesting and sympathetic and like for themselves#whereas my fave interpretation of cheetah can rot in hell#i got off topic here#blah#swishy rant#also disclaimer that w the main character ik dreamer is the main character of dream team. im talking more in general and that amanda should#always have a huge role as shes the main character of the squad and yet is treated like its villain and not its protag#sui sq

being anti-genocide is not allowed on meta
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
like i said before, i don't mess with shaun king like that, but that being said, many things about one thing can be true at the same time. it is very clear that there is a wave of censorship happening across social media against pro-palestinian content in favor of israeli propaganda. so whether or not you like shaun or not, it is very clear what is happening and why. there is clearly a genocide happening in gaza that is being perpetuated by colonizing power. a genocide against an indigenous population for land, resources, and power. basically the same thing america did to the natives here. had it not been for people like shaun king (flawed as he may be), many people would not be aware of the heinous acts of israel against the palestinian people right now. so even as someone who is not a shaun king fan, i am not so myopic in my view of things to not realize that he served a positive purpose when it comes to the israeli genocide of palestinians.
on a much larger scale, whenever a platform or a power attacks someone popular, one of the goals is to send a message to everyone else that they are not safe and that they should back off. it's like a football coach picking on and cursing out their hall of fame quarterback. when everyone else who isn't as popular or powerful sees that on the team, they immediately realize that they must fall in line or worse can happen to them. that's the goal of banning shaun king from ig. however as a black man who understands how connected all oppressive systems are, we cannot slow down. may i remind all my brothers and sisters that israel is where police forces like the nypd go and train in abusive violent tactics, which they then come back to america and overwhelmingly exercise on black and brown bodies. so if you think this does not affect you, you are sadly and deeply mistaken. additionally, this kind of censorship is going to spread. if we don't fight back, it won't be long before you will be arrested for speaking out against israel. this is what israel wants, and they have the money and political power to make it happen. you can either sit back and let it happen or you can fight back. however, make no mistake, it's coming, and this is the first major blow that the enemy has struck in their offensive against our free speech.

Okay, so, hear me out. Here is how I would have tidied up a bit the MESS that is She-Ra's lore.
The native native Etherians, the ones who evolved and originated from the planet, are people like Angella and Madam Razz; not people like we know them, but beings, manifestations of the planet's magic, immortal and la-di-da and ancient and mysterious.
Over time, immigrants started moving to Etheria, first and foremost humans, who spread out and got settled and started intermarrying with the magic natives, until we get to a planet that has some native magical beings still around, but is mostly their descendants with immigrants. This is how you get all the princesses, and that explains why most princesses are humans (descendants of humans and native beings), Scorpia specifically is not (descendant of a different immigrant population and a native being), and what Angella is (one of the very few beings still around by the time SPOP rolls around, who is only now handing over her rune to a mixed descendant)
She-Ra was one of those native beings, who slowly got integrated into the immigrant population, creating this Avatar-like cycle of She-Ras that was going just fine until:
The First Ones arrive.
The First Ones are not human. They are humanoid because of course, but are distinctively non-human, with specific identifying characteristics like Scorpia or Angella or Horde Prime. Like. Hell if I know. Make them elves.
There's a targeted propaganda machine to make the (mixed) native Etherians think the First Ones are helpful helping helpers, here to bring modern machines and shit to the natives!! She-Ra is handed over willingly, despite protests by various fractions. And then Mara blows the whistle.
Greyskull Squadron is not Mara's old squadron, or not only that, but a group of Etherians that Mara allied herself with, trying to oppose the First Ones. Like. Just show us a little bit of the Etherians fighting for their own planet, like what the show is currently trying to be about. Would be even better if later, Adora finds information not just from old First One tech, but from records left by the Etherians themselves.

Dance as a form of resistance shared by indigenous peoples. I love this mashup ✊🏽
I love this young man, I love his defiant war dance, I love his fearlessness, dancing in his protective kuffiya and Palestine around his waist, with his slingshot against occupation military fire and snipers.
Palestinians knows love and stand courageously for the love of life. Nothing could break it or their power to stand tall in the face of injustice.
This is from the peaceful Great March of Return 2018 by civil society. When Israel occupation forces surrounded peaceful protesters in Gaza, opened fire and massacred at least 150 Palestinians.

This opinion is less controversial than my opinion on 3 since most people hold that game as sacrosanct but I think that 7 is one of the weaker ace combat games in general. Don't get me wrong I love 7 and it was also my entry game into the Ace Combat series but I don't think it holds up as much to other games in the series. 7 has a lot of problems with the plot, you can tell that this game was essentially rewritten from scratch multiple times during development and it suffers for it. It's constantly introducing you to new characters and then kills them off nearly immediately and acts like you're supposed to have an extremely emotional reaction. I think Mihaly as the titular enemy ace of the game is much less interesting than the others that came before him like Pixy. Every time I encounter him it's just "You again?", there's no umph and the game acts like there should be.
Unironically 7 would've been a lot better if you had stayed in spare squadron for the rest of the game. A game about a penal squadron of convicts redeeming themselves and becoming heroes would've been a lot more engaging and entertaining than what we got. I like Long Caster and the LRSSG but I don't think they really added much.

If you’re fav celeb, influencer, music artist, famous socialite isn’t as vocal as Kehlani is on Palestinian resistance and Israel’s genocide against Palestinian People than you should loudly call them out and pressure them into standing with the people of Palestine. Pressuring celebs and famous ppl into fighting against oppression and settler-colonialism and genocide is always the right thing to do.

Hammerlock & Their Views on Dragons
Old Hammerlocke Galarian views on Pokemon are so interesting to me. While many cultures of Galar viewed Pokemon as a part of nature and something to live side-by-side with, Hammerlocke Galarians believed that they were above pokemon; that they were something to be controlled. It's the entire reason they used pokeballs.
In the Hammerlocke Empire, killing a dragon was seen as the highest honor a knight could receive. Combine this with the fact they were living in a kingdom that saw themselves above pokemon. A lot of it adds up. Many knights would go out of their way to actively hunt dragons, which, in turn, would make dragon types more defensive and weary of humans. These dragons would now become defensive or aggressive to any human they saw, which would give the Hammerlocme Empire more reasons to hunt them. Pokemon like Dragapult and Noiverm were greatly affected by overhunting, and their populations still haven't fully recovered. Salamence in Galar went completely extinct, and pokemon that were hunted by dragons would now be overpopulated and eat all the crops, leaving nothing left for the other pokemon.
Anyways, the defensiveness of dragons over the centuries would end up leading to Hammerlocke Galarians being weary of all pokemon that wasn't a Wooloo or a Purrloin or anything like that. It's why Hammerlocke has an entire wall around it; to keep pokemon out. And while the dragon head today is used a symbol letting people know that Hammerlocke is "The Dragon Capitol of Galar," it's original purpose was meant to scare dragons off.
It's difficult to explain Old Hammerlocke's views on other pokemon, other than "We are above them and they need to be controlled." That's pretty much the gist of it. That belief has died out a lot today, but their old worldview definitely affected Galar's history.
(I have just realized I've been spelling Hammerlocke wrong this entire time. I'll fix that later)
