Top 12 LGBT Horror Characters
4 & 5. Glen and Glenda Tilly (both played by Lachlan Watson) from Chucky
Glenda (left); Glen (right)
Tumblr media
*spoilers for Seed of Chucky and Chucky: TV Series*
I decided to put both of these characters on the same post because their history is…complicated.
At first glance, these two were a pair of peculiar, gothic twins with a penchant for purple and green. They lived a fabulous life of luxury from being the children of one of the most prolific actresses in Hollywood. Even though their mother was a little off, she doted on the twins with all the maternal love she could give as a single parent. So, Glen and Glenda had no reason to question the home and family they grew up with.
Then, why did they keep having those nightmares?
For some time, these two have been plagued by the strangest dreams. There was one where a women was set on fire. Then, there are ones where a sinister, raspy voice is beckoning to them. And the voice referred to them as “Shitface”.
And for some reason the twins had a British accent.
But everything felt so vivid and familiar, as if it was something from their past.
Throughout their entire lives, each of them felt as if there was a piece of them missing.
The gentle and meek Glen was a pacifist by nature. They might not even crush a cockroach if they had to. Their gentle temperament makes it all the more unusual when you are familiar with who their parents are. In contrast, Glenda fully embraces the violent tendencies that they inherited from their bloodline. Glenda is unapologetically ruthless, violent and, if need to, willing to kill. This was always a blessing to their mother. After all, who else could you trust to give a suitcase bomb as a gift?
Yet, despite their vast differences in personality, this peculiar pair of twins were each other’s best friend and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Then, on a fateful visit to their mother in her Beverly Hills mansion, Glen and Glenda were soon thrust into a mystery that would give them the answers behind their strange dreams.
It was the eve of their 18th birthday. The day they would transition into adulthood. They were just so excited to see their mom again, who planned a lavish party for them, complete with a guest list of A-list friends of the family. Then, the twins begin questioning their mother’s stranger-than-usual behavior this past year, such as her avoiding the public and installing this high-tech security system. What is Tiff-…Jennifer hiding from her children? Plus, what is behind this locked door… Oh. My. God!
Then, all the skeletons fell out…figuratively and literally.
Glen and Glenda were now at war against the woman who loved and raised them. The home they knew was gone. They were both on the run and had to rely on the trust of strangers in order to survive. But no matter what the circumstances, as always, the twins’ loyalty toward each other never dissolved. A bond that would stay true and tethered, even to a tragic end.
But don’t feel too sad. As history has shown, this family always finds a way to be reborn.

Back the Aether Beyond the Binary Kickstarter Campaign!
Tumblr media
Duck Prints Press is thrilled to announce that the crowdfunding campaign for science-fantasy gender-diverse sixth anthology Aether Beyond the Binary is now live on Kickstarter!
The core concept of Aether Beyond the Binary is simple and compelling: create intriguing main characters outside the gender binary and set them loose to explore the modern world twisted or barely changed, enhanced or destroyed by magical aether. This power source may replace technology, supplement it, or oppose it. These characters may be agender, genderfluid, bigender, or any other non-binary identity. The thread that these tales share is exploration: of the world around them and of the self. We propose no conclusions; instead, we demonstrate how far-reaching the questions are and how expansive the range of possible answers can be, thereby broadening the discussion about the nature of gender and the place of genderqueer characters in science-fantasy fiction. We hope you’ll join us to explore the endless possibilities of these magical worlds.
This anthology includes 17 stories, each up to 7,500 words, by our diverse fancreators-turned-original-fiction-authors, gorgeous artwork by Mar Spragge, Pippin Peacock, Alessa Riel, and Atomic Pixies, amazing merchandise, and awesome add-on extras.
Tumblr media
Looking for the perfect post-holiday purchase? Look no further! Get awesome, gorgeous stuff, a fantastic, erudite book, and support queer indie publishing – become a backer of the Aether Beyond the Binary crowdfunding campaign TODAY!
Campaign ends January 25th, 2024.
Patreon backers who support the crowdfunding campaign can also get an excellent extra: the adorable plant-watering backer as a key chain! So there’s no time like the present to back us on Patreon, too!

my favourite part of that dumbass anti woke list that came out a while ago is that it directly acknowledges that multiple characters (INCLUDING the player characters) in undertale and deltarune are nonbinary and use they/them - which is more than half of the fucking fans of the game do

I know you've previously said that you don't like anyone misgendering Shamura, but what if it's in a flashback? Like Shamura used to be male/female and then transitioned to they/them pronouns.
Would that be an acceptable form of misgendering, since it would be backstory for explaining how Shamura is now they/them?
Y’all really do just want any excuse to disrespect non-binary people huh?
I really like how the idea of Shamura having a binary sex is stated as a fact/sar. As if cult of the lamb has any references to binary sex. This also assumes that I’m the ultimate authority on Shamura’s gender. “Acceptable form of misgendering,” Jesus.

I think antis would have fun for once if they changed their way of thinking.
Instead of thinking:
"They're a child/minor/animal!"
"They're made of atoms!"
"They're made of flesh and blood!"
"This weirdo likes kids/animals!"
"[Character] is age!"
"People are only weird about them because they're drawn to THE NUMBER!"
Try thinking:
"It's an object".
"It's made of pixels".
"It's made of ones and zeros".
"This person likes this character. I don't know the reason but I'm glad they're enjoying themselves because the character they like doesn't reflect how they'll treat people".
"It's an arbitrary and unimportant number that can be whatever people want because characters don't feel time like people do. It's extra trivia about [character] like knowing their blood type. I can think it's weird that someone's attracted to their fridge but that doesn't harm anyone and it doesn't matter whether they've had that fridge for five years or 25 years".
"This person could like this character for any number of reasons; it's design, it's programmed personality, ect. but all I can tell from them liking a character is that they like that character".

Question for the non-binary and trans people on this app.
Due to some unhelpful introspection I (non-binary) have realised that most of the characters (particularly male characters I don't know why) I don't really see as men, in the sense that I don't see them as the gender that I would see them as if they popped to life in front of me. So I'm wondering if this is a gender blind trait due to being non-binary or smth else.
PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT GENDERQUEER DONT VOTE!

hm.... exploring jake as nonbinary/agender who very much performs the act of masculinity because that is what is expected of him and coming to terms that he doesn't have to be, maybe he doesn't have to force himself into that mould

I can sense my The Boys autism starting up again when Gen V starts this month but every time I sense it starting up I remember I’m gonna have to enjoy this alongside the most media illiterate critically non thinking ironic sigma male audience of all time and i slowly begin to crumble. Anyways here’s this thing to make them start foaming at the mouth:

Attitudes to Non-Human Characters in Fiction
Tumblr media
I'd be grateful to anyone with a bit of time to help this study!
Eligible Participants: Everyone over 18 is eligible for this study, so long as you take the survey that fits your demographic.
The first survey is aimed at neurodivergent or gender non-conforming participants.
The second survey is aimed at neurotypical and gender-conforming participants - in other words, everyone else who does not fall into the first survey demographic.
You must be 18 or over to take part in either of these surveys.
These surveys are part of a study on tropes concerning gender and neurodivergence in media. You will be asked about your headcanons regarding non-human characters who are coded as (i.e. not canonically, but implied to be) neurodivergent and/or gender non-conforming, as well as characters who are confirmed as such in canon. I am studying personal attitudes and opinions, so there are no wrong answers. For transparency's sake, I am clinically diagnosed as neurodivergent and am non-binary myself. Reblogs appreciated. Thank you so much for your time!
If you are neurodivergent and/or gender non-conforming, please take this survey:
If you are both neurotypical and gender-conforming, please take this survey:

COVER REVEAL: Aether Beyond the Binary!
Tumblr media
Duck Prints Press is over the moon to announce that the crowdfunding campaign for our next anthology, Aether Beyond the Binary, will be launching on Kickstarter on December 26th, 2023. This awesome collection includes 17 stories about characters outside the gender binary – be they non-binary, agender, genderfluid, bigender, or elsewise – exploring, learning, growing, teaching, helping themselves or helping the world in settings like the modern world, but with magical aether powering the technology!
Our spectacular cover, which we are thrilled to reveal today, features art by non-binary artist Mar Spragge. The lead editor, Nina Waters, is agender. Many of our contributors are also trans and/or non-binary. You can see the full list of contributors here.
The crowdfunding campaign for this book will include options to buy the anthology as an e-book, trade paperback, or hard cover, and we’ve also got some gorgeous merchandise, with an enamel pin by Atomic Pixies, a bookmark by Pippin Peacock, a sticker of the back of the book cover (because the book cover is FULL WRAP-AROUND, wut?!), and of course a sticker of our latest Dux, created by Alessa Riel.
The campaign goes live on December 26th, 2023. To get all the details and make sure you don’t miss a thing, follow our Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page NOW!
Signal boosts are extremely appreciated on this post. This is a super cool project and we want to get the word out about it. And I mean, look at the lovely artwork. You know you need that lovely artwork on your blog/page/feed/whatnot. 😀

In preparation for the Trans Rights Read A Thon going on over at Insta, Twitter and TikTok, I want to share some of the books I've read already that really impacted me.
Tumblr media
Hell Followed With Us by AJ White taught me there's more than one way to be trans, and provided a wonderful outlet for this new feeling I was having called trans rage.
Prince of Sorrows by @skellygraves opened my eyes, and writing horizons with such a beautiful queer normative world that it made me question everything.
The Witch King by H.E Edgmon taught me to never accept less than what I deserve.
Cemetery Boys by @aidenschmaiden taught me how family and friends should treat you, and that they should learn if they don't know how.
The Sunbearer Trials taught me that standing as you are can make others stand up too. It also taught me that being trans isn't your whole identity, just part of who you are.
The Sex Wizard Series by Alethea Faust has such a diverse cast of queer characters, and it opened my eyes to how creative queer kinky seggs can be.
Tumblr media
Odder Still by DN Bryn made me realize that we don't have to fight against the parts of ourselves we deem parasitic or bad.
A Taste Of Gold And Iron by Alexander Rowland was the first time I felt truly seen as a person with anxiety. (Rereading now via audio)
A Strange And Stubborn Endurance by @fozmeadows impacted me in several ways and for several personal reasons, but I will say this. I have borrowed this from my library. Bought the ebook. Bought the audio. And someday I'll own a print copy.
Tumblr media
Kinship and Kindness by @authorkarajorgensen was another book that being trans was just part of the characters life, and it warmed my heart in all the right places.
The Wolf In The Whale. This. I have no words that can accurately describe the wonder that is this book. It is dark, real, visceral and full of emotion. It is one of those books that forever changes you.
(Check TW, most have them!)

I'm writting my first horror novel, title is pending. But we're not here for the title. I'm trying to think of a great title for the town. so I'm doing a poll. The story takes place in Pennsylvania, centralia. the story is inspired by silent hill 2 remkae, but while I am taking inspartion, it won't be a copycat of silent hill!
