2024: A Re-Entry to Fandom

I guess this is a thing? (Oh shit this brackets bit was written at the end and I appear to have emotionally vomited an essay. Sorry ‘bout that.)

In late 2023 I experienced a personal tragedy and retreated to where I had always found comfort: books.

I read a series that had been recommended to me before, but I hadn’t had time to read it - The Simon Snow Trilogy by @rainbowrowell and it awoke a dormant-but-never-forgotten love of fanfiction in me.

In my teens and early 20s I wrote a lot of fan fiction on the ol’ FF net, all of it of atrocious quality I’m certain, which is why I haven’t tried to rediscover that account.

Instead I found AO3, and restarted regularly writing for fun instead of for work or study/research.

I didn’t do any summation for 2023 because I think my first fic was posted on like 10 December 2023, but AO3 tells me I wrote 4 works, all SnowBaz, at a total of 55,154 words.

In 2024, I’ve published 5 works, at a total of 94,323 words.

What truly blows me away (and honestly makes me a bit teary) is the 1013 kudos, 100 subscribers (inc 15 subscribers to just me rather than a fic!), and 222 comment threads on my works. 🥹

Published for Erotic Grope Fest, aka Baz’s birthday. A collaboration with @alexalexinii and a story written to enable their amazing art of Baz in lingerie.

Precious to me for not only getting to work with Alex, but also for being the beginning of my relationship with Becky @rbkzz, my incomparable beta who has become one of the dearest people in my life.

On The Rocks, SnowBaz, Rated: E, 74,592 words (WIP)

My opus, as it were. It originated from a fluffy cute prompt of “what if Baz and Lady Ruth were work besties?!” And I came along like “YEAH! But with trauma, exploration of love in mental illness, and alcoholism!”

I began posting it in March and it’s about 2/3 done now. But for Becky it would be both an absolute pile of horse poop, and an abandoned WIP. Instead it has a clear direction and she found motifs that I’d repeatedly used by accident in my drafts and built imagery, greater meaning, and also debated me ad nauseam on my preference for spelt over spelled.

Immune Response, @lumosinlove’s Cubs, Rated: G, 1,421 words

I was a big consumer of WolfStar in my teens and was recommended Lumosinlove’s Sweater Weather and, like many before me, fell in love with the story, the original characters, and ice hockey itself (much to the surprised glee of my Canadian spouse, who for a decade has tried in vain to get me on board. Little did he know the key was obviously gays.)

This is a lil’ slice of life sick fic examining how each of the Cubs responds to getting sick.

I have a lot more unpublished drabbles about these characters and some fics that are being cocreated so stay tuned for 2025?

Preliminary, my dear Basil, SnowBaz, Rated: T, 1,494 words

A gift fic for @martsonmars as part of the Carry On Discord’s Secret Snowflake Exchange.

Among their suggestions was “Sherlock AU, but not BBC Sherlock, 19th century Sherlock” and it hooked me with the idea that Baz would absolutely fancy himself as Sherlock. I actually sketched out a plot to SnowBazify 4 of the Holmes stories, so maybe 2025 will see them unearthed.

There is one other published fic I worked on this year, but as a beta rather than a writer for @swoopswrites @rsbigbang piece Class A which was super fun to do (and got me to watch a great series - The Gentlemen on Netflix) and Swoops has a fantastic mind so I’d encourage you to to check it out.

Finally, I have always been a writer rather than an artist, but I do enjoy drawing, and the need to upgrade my iPad for work arose and so I also tried my hand at drawing again for the first time since I was 17 or so.

In order from the first one to the most recent one, the lil scribbles I did this year:

Things between you and Hyunjin had always been the best that they could have been and way more than you ever would have expected out of a relationship. It wasn't just a boyfriend you got when you were together with Hyunjin but it was a best friend kind of relationship. For as long as you could remember it had always just been the two of you and you enjoyed it a lot. Or at least, you thought you did.

It wasn't until you'd been at work one day and on our lunch, you'd noticed all of those you used to go to university with were hanging out with one another or their new friends and you suddenly couldn't remember the last time you'd spent time with someone that wasn't Hyunjin. It wasn't as though you hated spending time with him, in fact you adored being able to spend so much time with one another it was just that you were starting to realise how much you relied on him as a friend.

"You okay?" Hyunjin's voice suddenly asked from below you, it was now that you realised your hands had stilled inside of his silky black hair and you bit down on your lip a little. It was a Friday night, everyone else your age was probably out getting drunk or hanging out together but you were at home with Hyunjin, braiding his hair while he wore a facemask. Did he think that this was boring? What if he had other things he wanted to go and do and you were holding it back from it all? Your heart began to thump against your chest as you could only imagine the bad things.

"Do you think I'm boring?" You suddenly asked as you continued to braid his hair, tying it off once you reached the end of his strands. Hyunjin slowly turned around to face you, there was nothing on this planet that could ever make him think that you were boring.

"Where is this coming from?" He chuckled nervously as he stared back at you, the smile wiping from his face when he saw how serious you were about this.

"Am I annoying, even a little?" Your mind was already running through all of the reasons your friends no longer wanted to hang out with you. Ever since graduating, you'd been alone with Hyunjin, everything you would once do with your girlfriends you ended up doing with Hyunjin.

There were the days you'd go and get lost in a new city while shopping, or going on spa retreats together. Not to mention he was always there with you no matter what you were going through.

"Why would I ever find you annoying? What are you talking about?" He was suddenly sitting up and turning his body to face you, his face mask sliding off his face and into his lap but he didn't care. Right now, all he cared about was finding out why you were talking this way and who he had to fight for making you upset,

"I never leave you alone, we're always together...It's not as if I have many friends...If any." Your voice trailed off at the end and tears began to bead up in the corners of your eyes, instantly Hyunjin moved so that he was sitting right next to you, bringing your head to rest on his shoulder as he wrapped an arm around your waist. As soon as you felt close to him your body relaxed against him and you let out a small sigh at how relaxed he made you feel.

"Don't you dare do this, baby. You're incredible, okay? Who cares if you don't have many friends? No one needs millions of them," He stared down at you but he could tell you still weren't convinced by what he was saying.

"You're right but at least more than two friends would be nice..." You mumbled but he shook his head at you. No one needed millions of friends, a few were more than enough for some people. It wasn't about the quantity of people you knew but the quality. People can be surrounded by hundreds of people but if none of them are good people it makes up for nothing.

"Baby," He sighed a little, turning your head to look at him and smiling weakly, he could see all over your face that this was something that had been plaguing your mind for a while now and all he wanted to do was fist fight everything that made you sad.

"I spend all of my time with you, don't you get annoyed by that?" You sniffled a little and stared at him as his thumb gently stroked over your cheek and he shook his head at you.

"Not even close. I love that we get to spend so much time together," He let out a tiny little sigh as he told you, it was something he always thought you knew but if he needed to vocalise it in order for you to understand than he would.

"You do?" Your eyes lit up at the mention of it and his heart warmed a fraction when he noticed.

"Of course! I get to spend all of my time with you, we're so comfortable around one another as well it feels like we've achieved ultimate happiness," You let out a weak laugh at his attempt to make you smile.

"I mean it, Yn. I'm insanely in love with you, if you started to hang around others I'll probably get intensely jealous and have to kidnap you." He joked and winked at you

"There's that smile I love." He squeezed your cheek ever so slightly before releasing your cheek.

"Maybe I could start talking to some of the people from work...See if they want to hang out with us sometimes...We could always go out with them." You suggested. There were a group of people are work that would - once a week - go bowling together and every time they'd invite you, you'd make up some excuse but this time you were going to go for it.

"Sounds good to me but don't force it. Only do it if you want to do it, don't do it because you feel like you have to." You nodded at him before peeling the mask off his legs and throwing it into the bin beside the bed.

"I will. Thank you for being my best friend." You smirked as he glared over at you playfully. He shook his head at you, inching closer to you so that his mouth was right below your ear.

"Oh we both know I'm certainly more than that," He winks and tickles your sides a little causing you to wriggle around and scream as you tried to get away from him.

2024 Wrapped!

I might regret doing this, and if you lose interest, I totally get that. When I looked through my AO3 account, it seems I did nothing but write fics all year. But didn't I travel to Canada for...right...the Writer's Retreat...doing more...writing... Let's just face it, I did A LOT of writing this year. Buckle up!

The year started with a third instalment in my Mrs. Hudson's diary series: Six Days of Countdown

Summary: Mrs. Hudson is despairing when her hopes for the Christmas past are shattered.

January continued with the last fic of the Fluffbruary Extended Edition 2023: My Heart is Yours

Summary: During the holiday in gorgeous Tuscany, John makes a decision for this year's Christmas. Their last night in Italy doesn't change his mind in the slightest.

My first entry to the new year's Sherlock Challenge: Perfectly Phrased

Summary: Sherlock is dead. John can't cope with that information. He just can't. But he's seen the evidence. The dead body. The blood. The missing pulse. How to go on from here?

And then, February came along, and we all know what that means - Fluffbruary. Apparently I wrote a new fic for every day of the month. Here they all are:

Never Forgotten Summary: For a long time, John couldn't forget those cerulean eyes and that mischievous smile, but eventually he did. Until he saw them again, and again. John's decision to ask the greatest favour of the young man they belonged to the first time they spoke, proved to be life altering for both of them.

A Sugar-Coated Solution Summary: Sherlock remembers a remark Mrs. Hudson made about recipes when John draws his attention to a distinct smell on the victims fingers. Just minutes later, Sherlock has solved the case, but John is furious, and Sherlock doesn't understand why. Until something dawns on him...

A Tale of a Lifelong Habit Summary: Greg finally asks Mycroft about his strange habit. The answer is more loaded and emotional than Greg anticipated.

My One and Only Summary: The secret story of how Sherlock Holmes and John Watson became lovers.

Back in the Dungeon Summary: Sherlock is utterly confused. He doesn't know where he is. His bed is not his own and he feels the emptiness around him even with his eyes closed. And where is John?

Classical Misstep Summary: John is ready for his date, but then Sherlock reminds him that John is otherwise occupied this evening, and John has to make an awkward phone call. The relief he feels afterwards is both expected and disturbing.

His Everything Summary: Sherlock and John are visiting Sherlock's parents. Violet Holmes muses about how John and Sherlock's relationship has changed her youngest son. The son in question surprises his mother with a few statements during the visit, and one of them brings her to tears.

Unwavering in his Loyalty Summary: John wakes up alone. A message is waiting for him. From Sherlock. Time to get out his gun.

Where His Heart Belongs Summary: As a child, Sherlock lost his heart to London but it took him years to finally get there. When he lost his heart the second time, Sherlock knew it didn't matter where he lived anymore.

Dark as the Night Summary: Sherlock loves John and tells him and shows him that every day. But he's only able to tell John his deepest thoughts and feelings at night when John is asleep.

Encumbered With a Secret Summary: Molly Hooper reminisces about her friendship with the greatest detective of all times before her guests arrive. She has quite a story for one of them.

Fire Meets Ice Summary: Rosie has a school assignment, which Sherlock is more than happy to help with. When John wants to greet Sherlock, Rosie behaves cheekily, which captain Watson refuses to tolerate.

Distaste and Aversion Turned to Longing and Fondness Summary: Mycroft arrives at Baker Street to reveal something personal. Both he and Sherlock are utterly puzzled that John already knows what it is.

Indulge Me? Summary: Sherlock has planned Valentine's Day this year, and won't tell John anything apart from letting him know they'll go away for the weekend. John aren't even allowed to pack his own bags, which puts him on edge.

Touched for the First Time Summary: John meets a Sherlock in disguise and instantly knows there's something wrong with Sherlock's eye colour.

Love Potion, Truth Serum, or Both? Summary: They're both quite drunk. Sherlock doesn't remember where they are or what they're doing in a place that's clearly not Baker Street. When John starts talking about a game and animals, Sherlock fears his brain has collapsed. But one thing is clear to him. He wants to kiss John.

Wondrous Awakening Summary: Sherlock needs to access his mind palace but finds it quite difficult because of two women glaring daggers at him. When he realises why, he texts John for advice. As always John has the perfect solution to Sherlock's predicament.

Bespoken Vanity Summary: It took a big brother to save him from addiction, a detective inspector to save him from boredom, and an ex-army doctor to let his walls fall.

Not His Cup of Tea Summary: As per usual she has baked for the boys. Sherlock's particularly pleased with her choice. His brother begs to differ...

His Beloved Armour Summary: After he got the Belstaff, Sherlock loathes the warm season. He feels naked without his grand coat. Until John starts to send him appreciative looks. When the cold season is upon them and Sherlock brings out his coat again, John's expression changes.

A Personal Touch Summary: They've had a lovely dinner at Mycroft and Greg's, but on the way home John doesn't say a word. He's clearly disappointed with Sherlock, but Sherlock has no clue what's caused it. After John has gone to bed, Sherlock retreats to his mind palace to find a solution to this awful situation. What he finds, makes him devastated. How can he fix this?

Crucial Involvement Summary: Harry and Clara come to visit John and Sherlock. It takes embarrassingly long for John to realise why, while the great detective understands immediately.

Under the Bridge Summary: Mike is playing matchmaker after a lost bet. John agrees to the terms of a blind date with a pilot called Max. Before John's taken the first sip of his beer, he hopes that his date never shows up.

Words He Wrote Summary: When Sherlock returns from the dead, John's been gone for two weeks. Not even Mycroft knows where he is. And then the post arrives.

Benevolent Care Summary: John Watson has a fever and can't bear to be touched. Sherlock Holmes is NOT okay with that.

Safe Keeping Summary: John has sent Mrs. Hudson to her sister so she's better protected against Covid. Sherlock disagreed, but had no say in the matter. When John urged Sherlock to move to his parents, the great detective stood his ground. After a gruesome double shift, John breaks down, and realises he needs his lover close.

A Different Approach Summary: Sherlock gets a mysterious text from Mike Stamford of all people. He wants to meet, and he needs Sherlock to keep the meeting a secret from John. What Mike tells him, makes Sherlock lose track of time, before he decides to take Mike's advice.

Streets Filled with Music Summary: John has always been fascinated by street musicians. After he meets Sherlock Holmes and refuses to move in with him, John walks the streets of London listening to the different musicians. Quite a few play the violin.

Fervent Radiance Summary: Sherlock Holmes writes about how meeting John Watson changed his life. He also lets us witness a particularly hot post-case scenario.

And with that it was time for the Fluffbruary Extended Edition 2024. It started with: Higher, Always Higher Summary: Sherlock and John want to ask each other the same type of questions, but neither man dares to utter them. That Philip Anderson proved to be the catalyst came as a surprise to both of them.

Sherlock Challenge next: Cold Tears Summary: Sherlock has to go on this mission to save John Watson despite the fact that John will consider him dead if he does.

Another Fluffbruary Extended Edition entry: Green and Forbidden Summary: After Sherlock's injury, it seems to John that he's dreaming about something that baffles him. Hopefully Sherlock will remember everything once he wakes from his unconsciousness. The story Sherlock tells John is quite remarkable, and his conclusion in the end skips at least one crucial step...

Then May arrived and with it the May Prompts, instigated by the lovely @calaisreno My fic The Luckiest Girl in the World was a real challenge, but worth every struggle. Summary: Rosie thinks back to the day her and John's life changed because of Sherlock Holmes.

Of course, I wrote a fic for the Fluffbruay Extended Edition as well, because of course I did... I've Been Waiting for You Summary: Two women had great influence over John as a boy. One taught him to love all kinds of music. The other predicted a life altering meeting decades later.

A bit of poetry weaved its way into my June fic: Being a Rainbow in Someone's Cloud Summary: Sherlock and John meet as kids. Now, being an old man, John writes about the emotional journey of being in an out of Sherlock Holmes' orbit. A trip up to London in present time, brings back the horrors of their past, and makes Sherlock reveal thoughts he's had for quite some time.

July followed, as it often does: Kings, Queens, and Everything in Between Summary: Sherlock and John play the Rizla game decades after John's stag night. This time Sherlock is determined to end the evening differently, just like he's dreamt of.

August was a favourite month of mine this year. For more reasons than one. If I Cannot Have You Summary: Sherlock Holmes has done it again. My first FTH fic for the wonderful @totallysilvergirl was a wonderful thing to dive into. Beta extraordinaire @heretic1103 kept me right throughout. Always a Soldier Summary: Mycroft arrives at Baker Street with disturbing news which even Sherlock can’t ignore. Going abroad, even when the circumstances are horrible, might be just what both he and John need to avoid stagnation.

The September fic was: Obstinate Fascination Summary: Molly gets an invitation that puts her on edge. Sherlock turns to John for advice when he realises that Molly still fancies him. John concocts a plan and Sherlock holds his breath and crosses his fingers that everything works out for the best.

I even dared to make a podfic! Much thanks to another Silver. Instant Fascination Summary: John Watson never thought Sherlock Holmes was a romantic or a cuddler. Looking back, he's glad he was wrong.

The first fic where neither of the boys got their say: Observations of a Quaint Duo Summary: The people closest, and some not so close, ponder the relationship between the world's only consulting detective and his blogger. There are also some introspection going on.

Look Me in the Eyes was an emotional one; a fic I'd lost but managed to rewrite with the support of all the lovely people at the Writer's Retreat. Summary: From an early age, John has been fascinated by eyes. The older he got, the more dangerous that fascination became. It all culminated with a blow that scarred John's soul for life.

My first ghost story was originally a flash fiction fic posted on Tumblr, but in the end I also posted it on AO3: Graced by Death Summary: John and Sherlock find themselves in a large manor house. It's supposed to be empty, but John is not convinced. When they split up to search for whatever Sherlock needs to solve the case, John can't shake off the feeling that someone is watching them.

The last parent!lock of the year: A Magical World Summary: Rosie has been given a school assignment where the premise is to present her family and the dynamic between her and them. In the end, some adjustments are needed. For reasons...

My first Mystrade fic was a gift for my friend @melanie75851150 Beyond the Horizon Summary: Mycroft is finally home after an exhausting job trip abroad. All he wants is to sleep, but a certain detective inspector has other plans. Mycroft isn't particularly averse to said plans.

The Lost Chord was my entry to the Yuletide Johnlock Exchange. Summary: After his recovery from a nasty cold, Holmes takes his doctor with him on a trip to the seaside, which would have been enticing if it weren't for the timing. December is hardly a pleasant time of year to visit the British coast. Watson doesn't brood long, and he is quite enjoying himself until a member of the hotel staff interferes.

And last, but not least, my December fic, using the prompts from the @fluff-cember blog - Polychromatic Wrapping Summary: Sherlock and John take turns to tell us about their past and present. There are lots of new knowledge and head canon stuff here. Toot-rotting fluff, but also sexy times. Each chapter is wrapped in a different paper/colours, but it's the same universe throughout.

So, if you're still conscious after this, I salute you! Thank you all for your endless support through 2024. See you soon. Tomorrow, actually. It seems 2025 will be busy as well...

Katara's life after saving the world was filled with a whirlwind romance with Fire Lord Zuko that became a loveless, controlling marriage she is no longer happy in. After finding out the extent to which her husband has betrayed her trust, she escapes to find home in the person she has missed most during her time in the Fire Nation. OR: The common Zutara trope of "Zuko helps Katara escape an unhealthy relationship with Aang" is flipped entirely and completely on its head.

The war has been ended, Ozai has been rendered helpless, and Zuko has reclaimed the Fire Nation with the promise of peace. Everything that Aang has been working towards since the moment Katara freed him from the iceberg has been done. He's saved the world. Now, all that's left is to confess to his forever girl. OR Aang wakes up the morning after him and his friends saved the entire world, and the first (and only) thing he can think about is Katara. When they get a chance to talk, the two take a walk down memory lane.

aang being a bad parent is CHARACTER ASSASSINATION and i won't stand for it. i just know that him and katara wouldn't be focused on just passing on bending, but the *teachings* and ideals of both of their tribes to all their children, regardless of bending status. OR, aang and katara become parents and aang finds out that parenting is his proudest achievement, more so than stopping a hundred year war or holding the position of avatar

"i'm trying to tell you something, something that i already said":

katara speaks to each member of the gaang individually and finds out that aang has been head over heels with her for years and no one ever bothered telling her. this takes place after the fire lord is defeated, but in my version, they never kissed in the finale:oo katara is basically dumb in terms of love and so is aang and they are peak miscommunication trope and theres too much zutara content and not enough kataang OR katara interrogates each of her friends (toph, sokka, and zuko) and comes to the conclusion that she has lived for years without the kind of love most people wish for their entire lives

Fic roundup: Heart Pirates, post Winner Island

After seeing @purplehairedwonder's post rounding up her fics from the aftermath of the Law-Blackbeard fight now that it's been animated, I thought I'd make one putting together as many as I could find or remember. These are ones where it's the main focus--I realize it does feature in like, various longfics, as a background/inciting event but my goal was to sift out the ones that are focused on it. If there's one that is post WI focused you know and love I'm missing feel free to toss the link in the replies and I'll update the list. I've done some minor sorting into sections for Lulaw, Heart Pirates crew fics, bad end, and various, and within those things are listed alphabetically.

„Please Captain don’t die.“ Law could hear Bepo repeat the words over and over. The seawater around him felt like it was holding him in a breathtaking grip, but maybe it was Bepo carrying him. Law did not know if he was unable to move because of the water or his injuries but it did not matter much, he barely could keep himself conscious but tried his best.

This was written after the cover page art depicting Law napping with a leopard and a bottle of vodka. It was such a fun picture that I had to write the adventures of Law and Bepo on that island, and their eventual rescue.

Rosinante wakes up on Minon Island on the exact spot where he died, 13 years later. He's surprised to find Law is now a notorious pirate, and sets out on a journey to find him. Written for CoraFest 2024.

Luffy is more than happy to help Law find his ship and crew, but his crew rightly points out that finding a submarine under the water is a big ask. If only there was someone they knew who could find large metal things and easy move them around. Possibly bring a sunken sub up to the surface with his magnetic abilities. So they detour to hunt down the Kidd Pirates. Unfortunately for Law, Shanks found Kidd first.

Bepo didn’t know how long he had been swimming, only that his lungs burned and his limbs ached and that he could not stop until his captain was safe. Law was tucked firmly under his arm, pressed close to his side with all the strength the mink could afford, and Bepo couldn’t tell if he was still breathing anymore. He couldn’t dwell on that though - wouldn’t dare to entertain the thought that he might be - his captain was strong, strong enough to survive Doflamingo, strong enough to survive Kaido and Big Mom, strong enough to bring emperors to their knees. Law would be strong enough to survive Blackbeard. Bepo didn’t know if he would be strong enough to survive Law’s death.

And he hadn't been the one to bring the rumors, either: it had been an innocuous bit of conversation Law overheard, and his traitor brain had latched onto it. FIC WRITERS' RETREAT 2023

For the first time since 2019, we are back in action! Full-blown fic writers retreat, as is told of in song and story.

When: August 10-13 2023

Where: Sheridan College Trafalgar Campus, Oakville, Ontario, Canada (Near Toronto)

What is it? Four days spent with other fic writers, at all levels of experience. There will be a mix of workshops (Topics TBA and open to suggestions), prompts and challenges, and plenty of independent writing time for your own personal projects.

It’s also an opportunity to make connections with people who share your interests and passions, and where you can focus on your own goals and creativity.

Finally, all meals and many of the snacks are taken care of so your only responsibility will be to yourself.***

Cost (in CANADIAN DOLLARS): $450.00

***A note regarding meals: They'll look a little different this year. Other years, the venue has provided catering, staff, dining area, etc. This year, that option became prohibitively expensive, so we've decided to handle it ourselves. (Because @blogstandbygo is a treasure and a scarily competent organizer.)

This will be a mix of outside catering (from which we serve ourselves), DoorDash style take out, and stuff we assemble ourselves. Your registration covers the cost of all the food, and it will mostly be prepared and ready-to-eat, but there may be some assembly required, and we'll all share clean-up.

This has made a huge difference in terms of the cost of the event, which seemed worth it to keep this as accessible as possible.

THE BIG FIND 2023: Day 1

The Big Find is a 10-day long Drarry fic-finding marathon to celebrate the blog’s anniversary. Below is the Day 1 compilation of lost fics, both old and new, that we’ve been unable to find. Our aim is to get as much attention to these lost fics as possible, to help people finally find their missing fics! Anyone can participate by reblogging, reading through each list, providing additional fic details, and informing us the title, author, or link of a fic, and their respective number in the comment section. 1.1 It’s a fic where after Draco is sentenced to live in muggle world and Draco first works in a cofee shop and then in a pharmaceutical company formed by a witch. then on a full moon day he suddenly turns into a werewolf and then with bill helps him adjust, and then he becomes potions professor meanwhile Harry adopts teddy and becomes defence professor and Harry magic goes haywire

1.2 it has Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Harry but the main scene is basically just Draco and Harry in the Room of Requirement. Premise is that Harry had been using magic to glamour himself to cover up the signs or the Dursley’s abuse FOREVER so no one has actually seen what he looks like. Somehow I think Ron and Hermione convince Harry to let someone in so he decides to show Draco who he’s dating what he actually looks like and Draco is so shocked/aghast Harry thinks he’s disgusted and one of them (though i don’t remember who) runs away back to the dorm and Harry is deeply upset. I believe it’s relatively short (2-10k?) and i feel like it’s 2-3 chapters or parts but could be wrong. It’s probably AO3 but slight possibility it was FFN (HIGHLY unlikely tho). If it is AO3 then unfortunately it’s not tagged for any of the things i listed.

1.3 Harry and Draco were out with Teddy, and they ran into Neville who questioned Harry about Draco and their relationship. I believe it was winter. There’s another scene that I can remember and I don’t know if I’m conflating two different fics but there’s a scene where Harry and Draco are shopping in muggle London and they’re looking at weird shirts and they run into Vernon who makes some homophobic slurs.

FOUND! 1.4 I’m looking for a fic that was on ao3. Draco is some sort of an artist, not sure if professionally or simply something he pursues as a hobby for his healing. Writer or painter maybe. He has a mentor who tells him to go a retreat by the seaside in a little hotel which he does and he runs into Harry by accident. Harry is overall happy and open to him, but Draco has a lot of anger towards him I think. They start a dom/sub relationship, Draco being the dom, taking pleasure out of humiliating Harry. Towards the end there’s a scene where he makes Harry suck off a stranger in a bars bathroom or maybe the stranger sucks Harry off while Draco watches. But I think this is a where Harry has enough because ultimately he only wants Draco. It’s a happy end if I remember well.

1.5 i read this fic on ao3 it was unfinished and a muggle au. harry works at an office (I think) where he is the boss and he meets Draco at a bar. Jily is still dead so Halloween is hard for him. He also dated Cedric I think and Cedric died. Draco helps bartend with Theo, and Draco is dressed like a cat cause of Halloween. Draco then gets assaulted and harry punches the guy. after that they hangout in Harry’s car.

1.6 Draco and Harry had a one night stand (I think?) and Draco gets pregnant, he doesn’t tell Harry and then leaves the baby with him once it’s born, Harry didn’t know that he is the father but keeps the baby. Said baby gets sick and the treatment involves the father so he publishes about it in the Prophet and ask the baby’s dad to please show up. Draco does and had some test done, they start the treatment and Harry asks him to stay.

FOUND! 1.7 been looking for this fic for a long time. i think draco is some sort of healer in the fic and harry always come to him injured and he helps patch him up also they’re close friends and by the end of the fic they go to ginny’s quidditch match and the gang helps them realise they have feeling for each other?

1.8 I believe it was on AO3 but I could be wrong, I think it was a number of fics in a series but it could have been chapters but I’m fairly sure it was complete. It was set post-war, Harry had become an Auror and was apparating home from an alley while buzzed. There was a line about how the whores don’t hit on him anymore because he never takes them home? He hears a weird noise and his magic automatically sobers him up. The noise is Draco, who got kicked out by parents and got roofied. Harry rescues him, I think Draco passes out? and then Harry is annoyed because his buzz is gone and he has to deal with this. The second fic (or chapter) opens from Draco’s POV. He’s looking around the bedroom he’s in and he figures out it’s the old Black house because of the furniture and that Harry must have rescued him but taken him home instead of the hospital. He decides to seduce Harry and he’s able to conjure like a mirror and brush? and there’s a line about how this is the only spell he’s able to do wordlessly/wandlessly? I think the POV then switches to Harry and there’s a line about how Draco has managed to get like a single ray of light from the curtains to fall on him perfectly. Harry is aware he’s being seduced but he’s into it. Then I think the next chapter has Harry confronting the Malfoy parents about how they’re going to get married and they’re not going to hyphenate names, Draco is going to take his last name. The final fic is maybe from Lucius pov (or narcissa?) Draco threw Harry a really big birthday party and reveals he’s pregnant which causes Lucius to faint? And there’s a line about how the baby has brought both Harry and Lucius to their knees.

FOUND! 1.9 harry tells draco that he wants to wait until theyre eight years into their relationship to get married so that hed have spent more time loving him than hating him before they tie the knot

1.10 auror fic where Draco and Harry have to work together to arrest some child abuser and learn about each other’s past. I don’t remember if they were in relationships or it was drarry but the focus was the work in the auror force and their building relationship.

1.11 major plot point is ginny and Molly Weasley being behind some sort of plot and eventually are imprisoned. I know Ron is an ass for much of the fic, hermione helps solve a case or problem with Harry and involves draco. Not a lot much else I recall fic is not The Haunting of Harry Potter by Alexandria_ofCiro

1.12 was either 1 or 2 chapters, it was on ffnet. Set in the eighth year. The plot is somewhat similar to the show/manga “boys over flowers”. Also Draco was being bullied due to receiving a howler (I think, sorry it’s been a long time since I’ve read it) Neville has an unrequited crush on Draco and they are friends.

1.13 takes place in the eighth year but some of it also takes place after the war but before the eighth year. Draco receives an inheritance from a high ranking Veela who died which made him a Veela. Most of what I remember takes place before he goes back to hogwarts and is basically him learning how to be a Veela and stuff

FOUND! 1.14 Draco cursing his family name (Malfoy) because he wants to feel pain each time someone says it to it. So i think the fic starts with Draco working as a cafe barista in the human world and harry walks into the shop and calls him Malfoy, so the curse is kinda unlocked and Draco gets sick so he has to stay under surveillance in Harry’s house

The Green is a terrifying place to mine for Aurelac, being one of the rougher and less regulated prospecting destinations. As such, you don’t make a habit of talking to strangers here. Get in, get the shit, get out. That’s how you’ve always done it.

This time is different though. This time you found a man sitting on a log, helmet-covered head pressed into his hands. You tried to retreat quietly, hoping he wouldn’t notice you. It’s never a good idea to get caught out here alone. People got desperate.

Before you could safely make it back into the cover of the forest, the man looked up and locked eyes with you. You pulled your thrower on him, taking several steps back. The man threw his hands in the air and said, “Easy there, stranger. I do not intend to cause you any harm.”

He spoke with an odd cadence, some fringe-planet accent coloring his dialogue. It was oddly disarming, causing you to drop your weapon a tad.

“And why would I believe you?”

“I happen to be without a ship and therefore have no reason to dispossess you of your trophy case,” the man shot back, hands still above his head.

This shocked you, as being without a ship on The Green pretty much guaranteed you were not long for this world. His air filter would give out sooner or later and the dust would choke him to death. You may be tough, maybe even cold, but you’re not evil. You couldn’t leave him there.

You holstered your thrower and took a few steps toward the man. “I can give you a lift, but I won’t do it for free. What can you offer me?”

The man had slowly lowered his hands to gesture at himself. “Your offer is indeed generous, and I would be more than happy to sign and seal save for one glaring slip… I have naught to my name but this suit and my body.”

You considered him for a moment. It was a little hard to get a good look under the bubble of his helmet, but from what you could see, he was handsome. He had dark hair and golden skin. A mustache framed his plush lips and a scruffy beard covered his jaw. His nose was prominent and curved, which you’ve always liked on a man. Fuck it, he’s hot. “Your body will do.”

He had shrugged and stood up, striding over to shake your hand. “Name’s Ezra.”

On the walk back to your ship, you’d introduced yourself and asked for the story of how he came to be without a ship on this gods forsaken moon. It was a sorry tale and made you more than a little wary about his motivations, but he was so damn charming you couldn’t help but trust him.

Now, sitting in the captain’s chair of your ship and taking in the sight of Ezra out of his suit, you’re glad you decided to trust him. The man is gorgeous, sitting sprawled out against the wall. He’s all broad shoulders and thick thighs wrapped in a black and tan flight suit. His close cropped hair has a little blonde patch at the front and his eyes are a deep chocolate brown.

“Would I be too forward in asking how you intend to proceed, little bird?” Ezra drawls.

“Not at all. How experienced are you, exactly?” You doubt very much that he’s a blushing virgin, based on looks and age alone.

“I myself have frequently indulged, and I have not often found regret,” he throws a wink at you, the corner of his mouth quirking into a self-satisfied smirk. He knows he’s hot, damn him. But you intend to throw him for a loop.

“I’m not sure you’ve indulged in this particular technique… If you want a ride on my ship, you’ll have to let me take you, pretty boy,” you stare him down, smugness settling into your features as you take in his shocked expression.

“I… um. I have not had that particular pleasure… you do not appear to have an apparatus with which to accomplish the task at hand.” He gestures at you, clearly wondering if you’re hiding a dick under your flight suit.

“I’m full of surprises.” You stand and make your way to a small wardrobe by your bed, digging around in your stash to find what you’re looking for. You shut the door, triumphantly holding your strap out for Ezra.

The harness is made from a similar material to your flight suit. Already slotted into the ring is a long flesh colored phallus made from a soft but firm material mined on your home planet.
