No but rlly, no matter how you feel about Nicky, on one hand I am an outside observer so reading this exchange I’m like “oh ffs obviously that’s not why! That makes no sense!” But then I think about it more and it’s actually probably really realistic? Oh 100%. I GET it. I understand why everyone has this perception of Andrew that he’s, in their own words, a monster. That he’s a loveless, emotionless sociopath. Imagine Aaron, excited to meet the twin he didn’t even know he had, and the first thing he says to you is fuck off, fuck you, leave me the fuck alone?

Imagine you meet the cousin you didn’t even know you had, and for some reason you don’t know about, he’s been in your house for how long? He’s been there for how long before he’s made an enemy out of your father, out of your aunt, he won’t talk to the cousin you did know about, he’s angry and depressed and he keeps knives under these arm bands he refuses to take off? He’s like Aaron in a different shade, like the dark version of a person already dark and destroyed. But he won’t talk to you. Why won’t you talk to us, Andrew? And all you get in response is a knife, or a blank stare, or a fuck off, fuck you, leave me the fuck alone?

Then your aunt is dead, and he’s alive, and the cousin you did know about is grieving and angry, and you, Nicky, who has fought so hard to keep the peace in your household, are now surrounded by negativity, and anger, and past problems that nobody fucking wants to deal with?

I get it.

Then they’re at Eden’s, and he hears it over his shoulder, the shouted slur. And then Andrew, who barely even talks to him anyway when they’re out drinking is on top of this stranger in a flash. And there’s blood, and the stranger stops fighting back. But Andrew’s fists keep coming back, and keep coming back, and keep coming back.

He nearly kills him. He nearly kills him. He nearly kills him. For you. Because you don’t know that he’s gay. You don’t know the weight of the word shouted your way. He’s protecting you. He’s protecting you.

You’re scared of him. He gets locked up. Whatever the timeline is pre-tfc. You’re scared of the cousin you didn’t know you had.

I get it.

But imagine being Andrew. They don’t ask what happened. They take the courts word for it when they say you’re a danger to society. They take the courts word for it when they say your depressive episodes are a danger to yourself. You tried. You tried to tell someone, but it’s a misunderstanding, and god’s intention, and your fault. So why bother trying again?

You spend all this time on this medication that makes you feel worse than anything you’ve ever been on - you spend years of your life in this haze, a mixture derealisation and constant and unending mania. You’re sick without it. You’re sick on it. You don’t remember who you are without it. You don’t want to know who you will be without it.

And imagine being Andrew, and it takes being violated in your cousins childhood bedroom, or just a room in his childhood home, for them to finally get it? Your autonomy stolen from you. Your secrets exposed without permission, again. Your consent is never your own choice. It never has been.

Oh and then let’s think about Nicky. And all that’s in his head is ANDREW IS WORSE WITHOUT HIS MEDS.

Maybe he hears the laugh from the bottom of the stairs. Maybe he only hears Neil talking about it. ANDREW WAS LAUGHING. HE WAS LAUGHING. HE WAS VIOLATED AND DESTROYED AND COVERED IN BLOOD AND HE WAS LAUGHING.

And this has happened before?

And Drake was not the only one?

Does it make sense now?

Is he a sociopath or was he made to be that way? Is he crazy or was this someone else’s fault? Does he protect his family because nobody protected him?

Why didn’t he tell me? Why did this happen under the roof of my family home?

In theory I hate how they don’t know what Andrew is really like. How they’re afraid of him off his meds. But it makes sense why. I get it. Why the fuck would they not think that?

But I think they understand how wrong they were eventually. I think they see how he might not smile anymore - but he is much happier now.

“Ladies and gentlemen: John Cena, Damian Priest, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins remain in the Elimination Chamber tonight!”  On the road to Wrestlemania, professional announcers offered countless emotions during this big-time matchup. 

Sitting ringside, Damian invited you to watch everything upfront as thousands of people cheered. Who knows what could possibly happen? 

“Still hanging in there, Priest?” Seth taunted this broadcast more and more while Damian almost sized him up. 

“Don’t worry about me, Architect. Didn’t you fight like hell at TheRumble?” Damian gestured between Rollins and Punk. 

“Keep it up and I’ll put you flat on this canvas.” Seth moved forward, bringing tension closer this time around. 

“One chokeslam is all I need. Stop talking.” Nearly humored, Damian pulled games right back this evening. 

“I’m not scared of you, Priest. None of you!”  Rollins began to yell, prepared to continue an absolute brawl. 

“Oh no! Priest and Rollins have kicked off another scuffle.”  Commentators picked up the relay once more and fans screamed along with you. 

Just when Punk and Cena resumed their own battle, energy shifted when spotlights powered down.  

Even as your mind jumbled with questions, fans glanced toward one another, puzzled beyond words. 

“What the hell is going on?!” Announcers didn’t know what to believe when the chamber darkened out of nowhere. 

“No. Brace yourselves! These lights turned blue! Our lights just turned fucking blue.” Regardless of censorship,  John Cena looked up and warned his opponents no matter what. 

“What’s the big deal?” Seth glanced in all directions, but everyone stepped back. Even CM Punk surrendered by lifting his hands. 

Upon realization, Damian pulled one mischievous smile when this hulking figure loomed directly behind Rollins. 

“Oh my God! It’s happening.” Announcers couldn’t believe what’s going on while an unexpected moment played out. 

“Turn around, Seth.” Damian quickly revealed this New York accent and still pulled more instructions. 

“Turn? We’re not playing games, Priest. What are you talking about?” Rollins almost scrunched his face. 

“Do it.” Priest rasped once more. 

Almost walking in slow motion, Rollins moved as expected, but paused. Even his heart almost jumped seconds later. 

Roman Reigns stood in front of the world. 

“Hey, pal!” Seth rambled through one panicked tone and even mentioned Roman’s cousin Jey Uso. “Look, I know The Rumble was crazy, but I’m really proud of Jey. How are you?” 

No words. Absolutely nothing. Wearing brand-new Jordans, Roman stalked forward as his muscular frame leveled shirtless. Dark tresses curled past firm shoulders. 

“C’mere.” As professional subtitles notice the movement of his lips, Roman nearly gestured obedience. 

“What’s wrong?” Seth tried. 

At that moment, Roman pulled absolute chaos and immediately brought up his first strike of revenge. 

“Wow! No more Mania dreams for Seth Rollins. There could be trouble.” Commentators scrambled when Rollins tried to fight back in return. 

Collectively shrugging, Cena, Punk and Damian all resumed their own chaos to push the fight once again. 

Anything could take place as you watched this outright blockbuster.

“Due to interference by Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins has been disqualified from The Chamber tonight! However, With CM Punk now eliminated, John Cena and Damian Priest will go to war as our final competitors.” 

This nail-biting moment dwindled more and more. Your heart just can’t stop racing this time around. 

“John Cena just moved for the Attitude Adjustment, but Damian counters and the duel pushes on.” Commenters raved. “Oh, here’s the South of Heaven Chokeslam. John’s hoisted. Listen to this place!” 

“This is awesome!” Fans chanted over and over again. 

“Down goes Cena. Cover: 1-2-3!” Damian Priest is going to Wrestlemania! The chiming bell rattled through excitement and you nearly sobbed because your Damian punched his official ticket! 

Jumping the barricade, you slide this ring beyond cares in the world and lept into Damian’s arms, beaming happiness while the crowd lost their minds. Confetti and pyrotechnics flew in celebration.   

“Congratulations to one of the most powerful wrestlers found in the modern era! Damian? You’re going to the big show.” commentators offered one last announcement. 

As you kissed your best friend on live television, nothing else mattered. 

Regardless of the future, Vegas will be magical! You thought.

Just before the program ended, Damian looped his arm around your shoulder and walked backstage. Still, each of you paused when other voices picked up.

“Who won tonight?” Roman Reigns pulled his Southern accent forward. 

“Damian Priest.” Seth Rollins mumbled back. “His girlfriend jumped the barricade.” 

You almost giggled this time around and rolled both eyes toward the ceiling, leaving with Damian as last.

HERE'S HOW MOHGMIQ CAN STILL WIN

This was originally part of a big thing I was writing trying to organize the various theorycrafting I'm doing about the DLC, specifically including Mohg, and while this certainly isn't all and wasn't related to the actual stuff I was trying to discuss-that is, the Formless Mother, who she is, what she is, and what she has to do with everything-this ended up happening and it was a way to spill out my thoughts on paper so.

MASSIVE SHADOWS OF THE ERDTREE SPOILERS, AS WELL AS DISCUSSION OF INCEST AND DUBIOUS CONSENT OF ALL STRIPES THAT MAY END UP STRAIGHT UP NONCON DEPENDING ON HOW YOU INTERPRET IT.

First off, let's clarify some things re: Mohg.

First, the explicit canon:

1-Mohg was brainwashed. This is inarguable.

2-Likely pre-brainwashing, Mohg revered the Formless Mother. He was already Lord of Blood with Ansbach as his servant when Miquella approached them.

3-Mohg 'kidnapped' Miquella from the Haligtree.

Here's where my theorizing begins.

First, Miquella's goals. Pre-DLC, I assumed Miquella was already in the cocoon at the Haligtree, but that obviously raises the question of why in the world Miquella would need to brainwash Mohg.

Second, MOHG'S goals. Mohg's clear goal is to create his own dynasty and serve the Formless Mother. And here's where I'm going to get controversial:

I believe that Mohg's sexual desire for Miquella was not compelled.

(And yes, it's sexual desire, 'shared his bloody bedchamber' ffs.)

Throughout the DLC, we see many people affected by Miquella's charm. It can affect large parts of their personality-see Leda-but it also works fundamentally differently. Though they cannot act contrary to Miquella's goals, they all do maintain their own personalities: even before regaining himself, Ansbach wants to investigate Miquella.

Furthermore, none of Miquella's followers behave anything like Mohg's obsession with Miquella. They show none of his possessiveness, and Kindly Miquella is nothing like Mohg's 'dearest Miquella'-a term of endearment, rather than beatification. Love and its different manifestations is a major theme reoccuring with both Miquella(see: the rest of the DLC) and Mohg. For Mohg, even beyond Varre's dialogue about him always tying back to 'love' and the roses he's associated with, there's also his love as a foil to his brother's. Morgott is defined, in many ways, by his deep and unrequited love for the Golden Order. I previously considered Mohg's love for Miquella as a foil to this, and I still do, but in different sense. Mohg's love for Miquella is a creepier version of Morgott's for the Erdtree-explicitly sexual and manipulative/possessive, but still devoting his entire self to someone who won't-and by the end of the DLC, can't-love him back.

(To put it in Greek terms, Mohg's feelings are 'mania', obsessive love, as opposed to, say, Malenia->Miquella(storge, familial love) or Rellana->Messmer(agape, unconditional love).)

So. Miquella wants to become a god, and brainwashes Mohg to enable him to do this, causing Mohg to fall in obsessive love with him. Mohg's love for Miquella and whether it takes the form of the chaste love of everyone else or the sexual love Mohg has is irrelevant to Miquella's plans. I don't know whether Miquella actually intended to kill Mohg in the beginning-the Miquella who entered the Land of Shadow was a fundamentally different person than the one we fight at the end of the DLC. And this is where we get to the last part: the fact that now Mohg's feelings for Miquella not only foil Morgott's for the Golden Order, but Miquella's for Radahn-which are also explicitly romantic(if not sexual) and also coded as dubiously consensual at best. (Though Mohg/Miquella is dubcon in multiple directions at once, win for them!)

Miquella clearly loves-or loved-Radahn. That's, IMO, very clearly the intent of this item description:

In their childhood, Miquella saw in Radahn a lord. His strength, and his kindness, that stood in stark contrast with their afflicted selves. And so Miquella made his heartfelt wish. That Radahn would one day be his king consort.

Miquella, as a child, was struck by Radahn's strength and kindness. (Note: this is not saying that Radahn is a good person. It is saying he is a kind one.) Radahn seemed to him like an ideal lord, a fairy-tale king who he can rule together with, and wished for that. Miquella's love for him is sort of an intense puppy love. Now, several people have said that consorts can be platonic, but a)it's more interesting this way and b)Miquella was a kid. No matter how adult his mind grew, his feelings for Radahn solidified in his childhood, when he wasn't really thinking of how Radahn's strength could work to solidify his rule. He was thinking about how Radahn is strong and kind and amazing and Miquella's going to marry him when he grows up.

Except Miquella can't love. Miquella sacrifices all of his love, along with everything else. This is one of the most important thematic moments of the DLC. It's not simply that Miquella's ability to compel love affected his own ability to understand love, which it may have-Miquella, to become a god, became something that cannot love. So what love Miquella may have once held for Radahn is completely irrelevant, much like whether Mohg loved Miquella before Miquella brainwashed him. Miquella still cared for Radahn and Malenia, but it wasn't anything like love, not even Mohg's obsessive, all-consuming love that ignores what Miquella wants. Miquella is unable to love even like that. His feelings for Radahn are someone's for a favorite thing, not a person.

In conclusion: good fucking food.

After giving birth on the 31st December of 1927 in Nurmengard Merope is ordered to once the Child does no longer require Maternal Milk to hide the new Heir of the Grindelwald & Gaunt Families away from the Wizarding World. Merope does so by taking the Baby once he’s 8 months old to London and hiding her boy in a Muggle Orphanage where she registers him under the Name Tom Marvolo Riddle.

The first Name belonged to her only Friend in Little Hangilton a young handsome Aristocrat named Tom Riddle and the Second to her Father Marvolo. Merope gave her Son those Names one out of respect for her Father, who before he had lost everything due to his Gambling Addiction treated her nicely and the other two out of Nostalgia and missing her only Friend in her sad Adolescence.

Even though she would never openly admit it she had loved the Muggle Boy and even revealed to him what she was after their first Kiss. Part of her wished he was her Son’s Father for she knew that Gellert did not love her despite her deep commitment to him and his noble Cause and the Night of Passion they shared in Paris.

He sired a Son with her simply out of necessity so that he could one way or another continue his great Work for the greater Good in case he might fail.

So she would now also for the greater Good abandon her Son in an Muggle Orphanage with nothing so that he could grow up alone but forged in Strength to carry on his Father’s Work in case he failed. If not and they succeeded then she or Lord Grindelwald himself would one day come for him to reveal him the truth of his Great Heritage and Bloodline and take him home. She implants false Memories on the Muggles of the Orphanage of her being a sickly deformed Woman who gave birth in the Orphanage in the Winter of 1927 and then died before returning to her Master. It was the right thing to do.

A/N: For the next feature in my 10 Years of Fanfiction Mania, we travel back rather far to my first completed multi-chapter story that was not co-authored. I'd already finished one that had been co-authored by the time I finished Break, but we'll get to that.

Break started as just some frivolous pool table smut and bloomed into me thinking "Wonder if I could write a fanfic that has smut in every chapter and still has a plotline with relationship development...." You all get to decide if I succeeded or not on that.

Der Grammy-nominierte Sänger, Songwriter und Produzent David Longstreth veröffentlicht gemeinsam mit seiner Band Dirty Projectors und dem europäischen Orchesterkollektiv s t a r g a z e am 4. April das Album "Song of the Earth" digital über Transgressive, Longstreths bisher größter Vorstoß in den Bereich der Konzertmusik.

Longstreth, der auch bekannt für seine Zusammenarbeit mit unter anderem Solange, Björk und Kanye West ist, schrieb den ersten Entwurf von "Song of the Earth" in sechs manischen Wochen für einen Auftrag von s t a r g a z e. Anschließend verbrachte er dann drei Jahre damit, die Stücke zu überarbeiten, umzuschreiben, neu zu arrangieren und in Studios in den Niederlanden, Los Angeles und New York City aufzunehmen.

Auf dem Album sind auch Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie), Steve Lacy, Patrick Shiroishi, Anastasia Coope, Tim Bernardes, Ayoni, Portraits of Tracy und der Autor David Wallace-Wells zu hören. Der erste Albumtrack "Uninhabitable Earth, Paragraph One", eine Wort-für-Wort-Vertonung des ersten Absatzes von Wallace-Wells 2019 erschienenem Bestseller "The Uninhabitable Earth" ist bereits jetzt gemeinsam mit einem Lyric-Video erschienen.
