If you don't find anything that you like (really!?) the claiming form will allow you to specify your own prompt (self-prompt) as well.

Claiming Guidelines

♥ Each Fic/Art prompt may be claimed once for Fic and once for Art.

♥ Each Podfic prompt may be claimed once for Podfic only.

♥ You must select a minimum of two prompts.

♥ You may claim your own prompt.

♥ Self-prompts are still accepted. There is an area on the claiming form to enter it.

♥ Emails will be sent as soon as possible after your prompt is allocated. It may take up to 72 hours. Be sure to check your spam box!

♥ You must confirm receipt of your allocated prompt via return email.

♥ Claiming by proxy is allowed.

2024 MPREG Fest—Submission Guidelines

Submission time is getting closer, and we've been thrilled to learn a few of you are wanting to submit like yesterday!

The due date for submissions this year is 21 April 2024 which is just under five weeks away.

We will check in with you all again about 10 days out from your due date to see how you're coming along. Our email and DM are always open if you need to chat with us.

POSTING YOUR WORK TO THE AO3 COLLECTION

Please avoid posting draft works to the collection. This can often lead to confusion when it's time to release them. Please preview your works on your personal AO3 prior to adding the Mod account as co-creator. Once the work has been submitted to the fest, no more changes are to be made without contacting the Mods to discuss.

Once you're happy that your work is displayed correctly, go ahead and add the Mod account and post the work to the collection. The collection link is here: 2024 Collection.

♥ All fics will be posted to AO3, regardless of length

♥ All artwork will be posted to AO3, unless the artist specifies otherwise.

♥ All podfic works will be posted to AO3, unless the recording artist specifies otherwise.

We do recommend that all participating creators get an AO3 Account. If you do not have, or cannot create an AO3 account, we will work something out. Talk to the Mods.

SO WHAT DO I DO?

Post to the Collection On or before 21 April 2024, go to the 2024 Collection and click Post to Collection.

AO3 has further directions on making a post to a collection (ignore the challenge references). Tick the Add co-authors? box, and add the Mod ID hdmpregmod as the co-author. This ensures we can proofread all entries, keep the end-notes uniform and actually post the works as part of the fest. Once the fest concludes, the co-creator status will be removed, but the works will remain within the Collection.

Use Archive Warnings If your work contains graphic depictions of violence, major character death, rape/non-con, and/or under-age content, you must include these warnings in the header content, and utilise the appropriate archive warnings on AO3.

Add Content Tags You may add relevant AO3 tags to describe the content of your work. Readers may follow tags to assist them to find new works. Please refrain from excessive use of free-form tags that do not describe the work or its content (e.g. "omg I cannot deal"). Once the fest is finished, you may add these. Unless it is a secret or critical plot point, it is recommended to tag the pregnant character(s). This has been a polarising point in previous years, and it's best that readers are informed where possible. The Mods will review the content tags, and may make minor adjustments if deemed necessary. Larger changes will be made in consultation with the creator.

Add Creator's Notes This is a great place to include your prompt details and a shout-out to your beta readers and/or cheer-leaders. Please be sure to use initials if naming them would reveal who you are; and remember to update it after the fest reveals.

The Mods will use the foot-notes to add some fest information.

Hit Submit! AO3 is sorted. No more changes are to be made to the work on AO3. The Mods will do their thing, once we know the work has arrived, so...

Create your Header Jump on into our Work Submission Form in AirTable for a glorious HTML-free header submission experience.

You will need the 5-digit submission code that we gave you on your prompt allocation email, and the email address that we sent it to. You'll find it right here:

We are offering a submission form for automated headers again this year. When it's time to submit your creation, you'll need this code [your code here 12345]. Make sure you don't lose it!

The form will ask you a few questions about the work, and most stuff you can copy and paste from AO3.

If you feel like kicking it old-school you can also email your HTML header details using the form(s) below to the Mods.

Wait, Anticipate, Enjoy Your submitted work(s) will be listed as Unrevealed Mystery Works in the Collection. Nobody but you and the Mods will be able to see the entry before its posting date in the fest. At posting time, the Mods will update the date of the work so that it receives maximum exposure. Please do not change it again. All creators will appear as Anonymous until the fest is revealed. While hype is definitely welcomed and encouraged; it is poor form to de-anon works before a fest is revealed. Do not cross-post, reply to AO3-comments, or otherwise claim ownership of an anonymous work until after 16 June 2024. It's only a few weeks, just be patient.

HD MPREG 2023—Something Important!

Before we drop the Rules and FAQ Post we've got something important to say.

When this fest started more than a decade ago, MPREG was typically about cis men even though this was never explicitly stated. Since then we have grown and learned as a community and—while trans men have been featured in MPREG in previous years—we have never clearly stated that all men, regardless of their assigned gender at birth, were welcome to star in MPREG fics because the premise of MPREG for us includes all men.

The original premise of MPREG can be summarised as two men get pregnant by some manner of accidental, magical, or other means.

MPREG welcomes works where the primary characters are versions of Harry and/or Draco who do not mainly identify as women, and who experience pregnancy by some unusual, magical, and/or otherwise unexpected manner. HD MPREG Fest continues to welcome the inclusion of any and all gender-diverse portrayals of other characters within your works.

Let's also be clear that these are just guidelines that apply to HD MPREG Fest and if you have any questions around individual prompts or scenarios you are welcome to reach out to us.

For obvious reasons anonymous asks/posts/comments are disabled.

We're currently dusting off a few things behind the scenes that have acquired some pesky tumblr gremlins. The key dates are all set, and we'll be posting the 2023 FAQ and Rules very soon. Be sure you're following the fest so you don't miss any key info.

We've been talking about it for long enough, and the day is finally here. Prompting is now open!

Prompting Guidelines

♥ Prompting will run from 23 January through to 10 February 2023. ♥ Claiming will open on 14 February 2023. ♥ Prompting is done via AirTable. Click here, or use the link in the side-bar. ♥ You may submit up to 10 prompts. The form will accept one prompt at a time. ♥ You may leave prompts without intending to claim. ♥ You may self-prompt. The AirTable form will accommodate this. ♥ Prompts must follow the community rules. Read the rules and FAQ post for more details. ♥ MPREG (past, present, future) should be the focus of these prompts. ♥ Other characters are welcome, but the Harry/Draco relationship must be the focus and end-game.  

If you are prompting a work that you wish to have turned into a Podfic, you must have the consent of the original author. Evidence of this consent must be shown before the prompt will be accepted. Authors are welcome to submit their own works for a Podfic creation.

Remember that this is a prompts fest and not a gift exchange. Creators are allowed their creative license, and you should not make the prompts too detailed.

You will not be able to edit your prompts after they are submitted. If there is something that absolutely must be changed, please email the Mods to discuss. Anonymous prompts will not be altered.

AirTable will ask you for the following details:

Here's the general rules and FAQ for the 2023 HD MPREG Fest.

What is the Harry/Draco MPREG Fest?

This is an anonymous prompt-based fest focused on mpreg and the relationship between Harry and Draco. Works forming part of this fest have three basic criteria—

Harry/Draco relationship is a must

Either Harry or Draco must get pregnant

They must not mainly identify as female while pregnant.

The change to the last criteria is explained in further detail here. 

Prompting

All prompting will be done through AirTable. We will post the link to the form when prompts open on Monday 23 January 2023. Prompts will be displayed in a gallery, and are typically available live unless flagged for review.

You are absolutely welcome to leave prompts for this fest even if you don't intend to create for it.

You are welcome to claim your own prompt too! If you want to create for your own prompt, this will be indicated on the form. While the prompt may still display in the gallery, AirTable will preserve your anonymity. If you have any questions about this process, please ask.

When prompting, be mindful that this is a prompts fest and not a gifts exchange, so while the creators will stick as close to the prompt as possible, they are allowed their creative license. Try not to make the prompts overly detailed, and keep the dislikes/squicks list to a minimum.

You can submit up to ten (10) prompts, and we will allow anonymous prompting.

You may re-prompt from previous fests when the prompt in question was yours, was not selected in a previous fest, and is not actively prompted in another open fest. If you saw a prompt that you loved elsewhere and think it would make a great prompt for MPREG, ask the prompter if they'd consider posting it here.

Creating

This is an anonymous fest!

While you are working on your submission, please do not tell anyone other than your beta(s) about the specifics of your creation. During posting, you should not reply to any comments or cross-post your work to other platforms. Once the fest posting has concluded, all creators will be revealed and then you can respond to the comments and cross-post the work on other platforms.

All written entries must have a minimum word count of 2,000 words, and there is no maximum word count. Art works and podfics should demonstrate equivalent effort.

All ratings and creation genres are welcome. Romance, pwp, drama, humour, dark, flangst, fluff, hurt/comfort, family. If it fits the fest's guidelines and you can write it, draw it, or record it: we want it!

Submitted works must be unique to this fest. We ask that they not be part of an existing universe or a prequel or sequel to an existing story. Submitted works must be complete works—we will not accept WIPs (work-in-progress). You may not submit a work that you have previously posted.

Submissions

Closer to the submission date of 23 April 2023, we will make a detailed post on the finer points of submissions. For now, some basic details are provided below.

If you finish your creation early, you are most welcome to submit early. If we haven't made the submissions post by that time please contact the Mods via email or DM.

All works will be posted to AO3. You will upload your own submission to the AO3 collection. A header is required to ensure uniform details for each work are posted on tumblr and LiveJournal. We will offer a html-free header experience also via AirTable, and the details will be provided in the submissions post.

Written works and podfics must be beta-d. This is not negotiable. The Mods will proof-read and proof-listen to these entries, and reserve the right to return them to you with corrections if necessary. If you do not have a beta lined up, there are resources where you may find someone to assist you including the Drarry discord server. Please keep the anonymous nature of this fest in mind while discussing your beta requirements in open forums.

All works must include the appropriate HTML coding tags on AO3. If you are unsure what the HTML tags are or how to use them, please check phoenixacid's N00b's guide to HTML. All submissions shall be uploaded directly to the 2023 H/D MPREG Collection on AO3. It is strongly recommended that you double-check when you post to verify that your coding and spacing is correct.

Extensions and Withdrawals

Extensions to timeframes will be considered on an individual basis. We will check in with you periodically, and if you think you're going to need an extension, you should tell us as soon as possible. Giving the Mods an idea of how much time you think you'll need, as well as where you're currently up to will help us plan the posting schedule better and fit things in.

Communication goes a long way, and we like to think we're easy to work with. Please talk to us if you're having problems.

If you find yourself in the regrettable position that you have to withdraw from the fest, we'll be sad to see you go. Sometimes, real-life ruins the best of fandom intentions and there's very little we can do about that. Please send us an email or a DM before your submission deadline so we're not left waiting for something that isn't coming.

Once the fest concludes, the co-creator status will be removed, but the works will remain within the Collection.

Use Archive Warnings If your work contains graphic depictions of violence, major character death, rape/non-con, and/or under-age content, you must include these warnings in the header content, and utilise the appropriate archive warnings on AO3.

Add Content Tags You may add relevant AO3 tags to describe the content of your work. Readers may follow tags to assist them to find new works. Please refrain from excessive use of free-form tags that do not describe the work or its content (e.g. "omg I cannot deal"). Once the fest is finished, you may add these. Unless it is a secret or critical plot point, it is recommended to tag the pregnant character(s). This has been a polarising point in previous years, and it's best that readers are informed where possible. The Mods will review the content tags, and may make minor adjustments if deemed necessary. Larger changes will be made in consultation with the creator.

Add Creator's Notes This is a great place to include your prompt details and a shout-out to your beta readers and/or cheer-leaders. Please be sure to use initials if naming them would reveal who you are; and remember to update it after the fest reveals. The Mods will use the foot-notes to add some fest information.

Hit Submit! AO3 is sorted. No more changes are to be made to the work on AO3. The Mods will do their thing, once we know the work has arrived, so...

Create your Header Jump on into our Work Submission Form in AirTable for a glorious HTML-free header submission experience. You will need the 5-digit submission code that we gave you on your prompt allocation email, and the email address that we sent it to. You'll find it right here:

We are offering a submission form for automated headers again this year. When it's time to submit your creation, you'll need this code: [your unique code here] Make sure you don't lose it!

The form will ask you a few questions about the work, and most stuff you can copy and paste from AO3. If you feel like kicking it old-school you can also email your HTML header details using the form(s) below to the Mods.

Wait, Anticipate, Enjoy Your submitted work(s) will be listed as Unrevealed Mystery Works in the Collection. Nobody but you and the Mods will be able to see the entry before its posting date in the fest. At posting time, the Mods will update the date of the work so that it receives maximum exposure. Please do not change it again. All creators will appear as Anonymous until the fest is revealed. While hype is definitely welcomed and encouraged; it is poor form to de-anon works before a fest is revealed. Do not cross-post, reply to AO3-comments, or otherwise claim ownership of an anonymous work until after 18 June 2023. It's only a few weeks, just be patient.
