Hi guys!!! My parents are forcing me to go to this upcoming Muslim convention in chicago. It’s supposed to take place in about two weeks. Gosh i’d really love it if I knew if any of you lovely people were going? I would be great to meet yall, and have some support during the convention.
The convention is pretty terrible. There’s a bunch of super religious people and all of them suck rlly bad. It’s always so depressing when I go, and its rlly draining. Anyways, spread the word and stay safe yall!!!

Another reason I hate this sudden wave of acting like any trans masc who talks about his own oppression is being 'not chill' and 'whiny' and 'want their to be an issue when there's not' is that it exactly mirrors the way misogynists talk about feminism. Don't pretend it doesn't.
"When you thought the hot chick was chill then she starts talking about feminism." "When you thought the trans man was chill then he starts talking about transandrophobia." "Transandrobro/Transandrophobia Truther." "Feminazi."
^ It's the same thing, different wing Imagine growing up as a woman (according to society) and being told, no matter how many direct examples you give, what you actually experience or statistics you can quote, that none of your opinions matter, and that women aren't really oppressed based on the fact that you're not as subjugated as women used to be and that you have the vote so clearly everyone's equal now, so you're being whiny and hysterical and need to calm down and why do you hate men so much??? after standing up for yourself and other women even one time.
Only to realise you are a trans man (your feminist views unchanging) and end up going through all that again, being told basically the same dismissive stuff about your own oppression all over again (except now it's 'why do you hate women so much?'), but this time it's seen as basically ok by everyone from actual transphobic people to fellow queers because 'man' or 'masc' is part of your identity because people still don't understand feminism or how oppression works.
And that's if they even validate you as a masc nb or man and aren't still just treating/seeing you as a whiny hysterical woman whilst using the progressive term 'AFAB'.

Yo being mad about disney race swapping characters is dumb what im annoyed about is the weird idea that its anti feminist to want romance from a company that made a bunch of profit off of romances.. And the constant dissing that disney princesses get is rather grating .. if they were treated respectfully that would be great but no they keep being shat on by what i view as fake femisist that keep hating on fictional children. thats the issue with disney remakes they steal talking points from people hating on fictional kids its so lame

i do acknowledge i need to watch what i say wrt gender women men cis ppl etc just augh.
#its like. im a trans man 100% i want nothing to do w being seen as a women i acknowledge that. i also acknowledge that I am putting#literally zero effort in my irl life to present as a guy at all. partially lack of resources and embarrassment etc stuff like that partiall#the autism i literally look in a mirror and see a guy#and i go to class go to work and until soemone explicitally refers to me as a woman i think of myself as a guy. so like its this weird#disconnect of what i actually do vs what i percieve as expieriencing in my daily life where i am objectively living#as a cis woman who just dresses and acts a bit masc. lol.#and like that doesnt bother me atm until i get to a setting where i am gendered frequently. then i feel nauseas etc but whatever ill deal#so i always hesitate whenever i talk abt women feminism men makeup beauty expectations etc (also i am mixed thai and white which#def plays into everyhting ofc ofc) as i dont know rly what is like. not fine idc if i say smthn uncouth just i dont want to at all#seem like im doing what these other trans guys do and latch onto my femininity and 'girlhood growing up' etc or like#its all dumb to me ofc im a feminist i consider anything i speak abt feminism free the nipple being against gender essiantialism etc etc#as in feminism (not that women arent/cant be femnists just in terms of im not trying to sound like a woman) and#ofc growing up as and my current life experiences have obvi had a large impact on myself how i veiw the world my political beliefs and all.#but like. im always scared it sounds like im idr the phrase someone else used but a i dont want to seem like im latching onto girlhood as#a failsafe or whatever. its just mm ykwim its a weird feeling. cause like im a 21 year old man and read my posts as such el oh el.#idk its all weird and idk if its a specific to me thing or whattttt it just like. i feel silly sometimes and i dont want my points to be#misconstrued :) anyways me posting this after rewatching and posting abt pearl has nothign to do genuinly lmfao just timing its been#on my mind after that dumbass trans guy posting abt the lonelyness he feels abt abandoning womanhood#after watching barbie. lol and then i saw someone in the comments of some ig quote it w like 30 replies all positive like get a lifeee#i understand it can feel isolating being trans and everyones relationship back to womanhood is diff and complecated but by god. shut up#anywayyyyyssss mmm okay im done whateverr#maybe all a fear in my head and literally none of this has every crossed anyones mind however it bothers me :(

1. This makes the assumption that people shave purely bc of beauty standards (not true)
2. You can fight societal standards without being a dick to people for no reason
2. "The patriarchy is an asshole to women so I'm going to fix it by ALSO being an asshole to women but in the opposite direction" is a nitrogen cold take
3. Stop imparting unwanted criticisms about people's bodies christ how many times do we have to say it
I think its really funny when people get mad at the pro-hairy pussy posts on this site (yes including posts hating on bald pussy) and take an angle of “wow everyone is being so weird about shaving now and its so wrong to judge peoples choices like this” because like. Okay. Either you dont fuck or go outside, or you have been doing whats expected of you so long you have no idea how people who dont make the same choice as you are mistreated. Because so many people ESPECIALLY MEN are still convinced simply having body hair is unhygienic and will shame and dehumanize anyone who has it in the most vile and unnecessary way. Like youre seeing so many of these vehement bush or die posts BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE PUSHING BACK AGAINST THAT NOTION its not happening in a vacuum but once again tumblr users are out of touch with what actually happens on planet earth
If you like shaving: congrats, there are millions of people who would not accept you any other way

TRANS ELOISE!!!!!
my hot take is that at least someone in bridgerton should be trans because there's actually an abysmal amount of trans representation but, by judging the reactions to bi benedict and bi francesca, there are people who aren't ready for that conversation

I really don't like that the two options I get with being trans is "Dumb girl I have to explain oppression to" and "dumb evil man invading trans/femnist spaces." I would like maybe to be treated like a person

becomes a wannabe feminist,// to be fair, he has the most political statements when he met Olivia, not just fake femnist. You are so right about everything else.
// 🤣🤣, what political statements? - he had DWD and My Policeman to sell. Without those movies - that guy wouldn't have taken a stance on anything. That guy gets praised and appreciated for just existing.
He had voter registration drives at his shows. He took that picture with Beto:

He wore that vote t-shirt:

And the biggest statement was probably this:

(This post was just to show what political statements he made. We are not opening the blog for a discussion on politics.)

God this last bit is going to be such a slog
Spoilers and incoherent thoughts under the cut
I think I'm not the biggest fan of this genre. It requires too much suspension of disbelief on a large scale that to me doesn't feel particularly realistic (namely how quickly attitudes change among the older generations), while also understanding that this is not the point. The point is to argue against the annoying rhetoric you'll see where it's "Well if society was run by a woman it would be better" which is very untrue. And the violence here isn't sensational (as i saw someone on goodreads argue), it's not man-hating, it feels grounded in what it's trying to say.
But I feel like with all these characters the message is getting fumbled a bit? Idk. It reeks of "a white British lady probably white femnist" wrote this (and I say this as a white American lady.)
Idk the specific scene that annoyed me was when Tunde discovered that Nina basically wrote his book and gave him no credit and we as an audience were probably supposed to feel shocked or be like, "yup this is just what happens to women flipped on it's head." But all I saw was, "Wow a woman from the global north is taming advantage of a man from the historic global south. Shocking."
Ugh idk. I'm only reading this for a boom club and I hope I can find a review or something that captures the ick I'm feeling better than I can write it out.
(At least Margo and Roxie are interesting.)

isabella's pov is enthralling. oh, what a nightmare. her obsession with her own power and her (justified) resentment of the misogynistic mistreatment she's faced spilling over into excuses to abuse her power and manufacture a war to politically empower herself...her constant reference to her bloodline...her religious fervor...her racism...the insane thing is, with a slightly less agressive tone it could sound like a pseudo-feminist PROTAGONIST in a shitty carcarel white femnist-esque YA novel
