to say you were nervous was an understatement. The trailers had dropped and your name was finally shown. Sure, you weren't in the trailer since bang pd wanted to keep you a secret, which was fine with you. Hell, even Taehyung wasn't released until last minute and you're pretty sure he already has a few fan bases.

A knock on the bathroom door interrupted your thought, rubbing your eyes before unlocking it. You let out a sound of surprise as you see your members, all bundled together as they held a cake together.

"Surprise!" Hoseok cheered, his sunshine-like grin making your heart swell.

Jimin held up the small cake, a bit wobbly in their hands as Jungkook tried to keep the candle from falling. “It’s not your birthday or anything, but…” he trailed off, eyes soft as he looked at you. “We wanted to do something special.”

You laughed, your nerves easing as you took in the sight of your members, all huddled together just to make you feel included. The weight of debut had been suffocating, but at that moment, surrounded by them, it didn’t seem so scary anymore.

Namjoon smiled, tilting his head. “Come on, Y/N. Make a wish.”

Hoseok clapped his hands excitedly. “For all of us! For Bangtan’s future!”

You inhaled deeply, closing your eyes for a second. I wish for us to stay together, to be happy, and to show the world what Bangtan can do.

Then, with a steady breath, you blew out the candle.

Cheers erupted in the tiny bathroom, Jungkook nearly dropping the cake as Taehyung tackled him in excitement. Jimin was already cutting into it with a plastic knife, while Yoongi simply shook his head with a fond smile.

“Okay, okay,” Jin said, clapping his hands. “Before this cake turns into a pile of mush, let’s eat!”

You couldn’t stop smiling as you took a piece, the taste of the slightly lopsided cake somehow perfect in that moment.

One hour until the world met Bangtan.

It seems to be that the female member goes as the stage name, R! Everyone online, including us were expecting to be another male as V is also has a single letter. We wish the best to the new rookies in their career.

Hi. I hope you don't find this weird. I've never met you before. But your words about kpop and BTS has always brought me comfort and clarity. I've been reading your blog for the last few days looking to see if you will clearly address it. You haven't written about your own view about Jimin's mistreatment and sabotage since it happened. But you have acknowledged it happened. You also reiterate how yoonmin is still in control. I respect you for that. But can you share your own view and feelings about this issue more? Billboard is clearly anti-BTS and hedging their actions by using Bang PD who it seems was interviewed by them long before the Jimin thing happened. You've said this before. You've also said BTS have said they won't play the music game the conventional way. But you haven't said how you feel about it. I want to ask for your genuine opinion.

Last night, I was finishing up some work I'd brought forward because of Agust D's tour. Set Me Free Pt 2 was playing on my speakers and I thought how good it would sound on radio. Alone, too. It's a crime that with the kind of music BTS makes, people are deprived of hearing it simply because the middle men of the US music industry refuse to renege on their mandatory cut.

Fifty Fifty is a group with good and extremely marketable songs. Their agency's co-founder stated he intends to make the female BTS, and he said he sold his car to make the dream of Fifty Fifty happen. It all sounds wonderful until you learn the CEO and other co-founder is the COO of Beyond Music - the largest music IP investment firm in Korea. It is bigger than HYBE's department for that. Not only that, the CEO sits on the executive board of Warner Music Korea, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. He also runs an actors agency that manages several high profile k-drama actors in Korea. Basically, Fifty Fifty has been partnered and owned by some of the biggest entertainment companies not just in Korea, but globally. The group broke out on TikTok with Cupid and enjoyed organic success, much like NewJeans. As a result it was added to several Spotify-curated playlists that run on a proprietary algorithm, and like NewJeans' songs, Cupid climbed up the charts because it's an easy-listening poppy tune. The difference between NewJeans and Fifty Fifty though, is that Warner Group has now adopted formal co-management of Fifty Fifty and Cupid will be officially sent to radio. Warner artists get a stupid amount of radioplay. It's going to be a wonderful thing for Fifty Fifty, and it's very likely that with that sort of support, they get a Billboard Hot 100 #1 win.

There are many times BigHit fucks up with BTS. The issues of insulting subtitles (in Korean) towards Jimin and Yoongi occasionally piss me off; Jimin's stolen mail, the weirdo stalking Jungkook; how inconsistent shipping is (if there's a production bottleneck with a sub-contractor they should quickly change it), are all annoying; it's very possible some members of staff are anti several members because weird shit has been happening since HYBE's massive hiring of ex-Big 3 staff in 2020; and so on. But unfortunately many of those things are to be expected. I too wish Jimin had longer time to promote FACE, but both he and Yoongi had initially planned to release their albums late last year, but neither of them met their deadlines and instead moved it to Spring. The timing for their albums was always going to be close, and I'm sure booking tour venues as well as meeting enlistment deadlines only added to their constraints. I quickly got over my initial annoyance because it's clear both Jimin and Yoongi have accepted it. Plus the bigger problem is the industry's response to BTS.

Because of the sort of group BTS is, they will always have enemies. Their status as the biggest group in the world has only complicated things in many ways, especially when it comes to BigHit publicly and corporately addressing unfair treatment towards them. People already think BTS do not deserve their status and goodluck, do you think those people give a fuck if Billboard and Western music industry is screwing BTS over? No, they don't. And every party in this equation knows that. BTS has also said, since as early as 2017, that if they wanted to become massively successful sooner, they could've done so. Those opportunities came to them. In 2018 when BTS made history with Fake Love on the Billboard Hot 100, they could've signed with an American company like Warner, gotten carried by radio, and you and I would be having a very different discussion right now.

I don't know what the future will hold. Maybe BTS has in fact peaked and when they return after enlistment the world would've moved on to a better, hotter, more marketable artist. Maybe their bodies, interests, and priorities would have changed irreversibly. Maybe...

But I look at a group like BTS, and I don't care about any of that.

(The boys all signed Yoongi's guitar. It's his solo concert tour debut and they're all with him. He's taking comfort in them all being with him, and sharing some of that comfort with us.)

Anyway, I've rambled. You asked me what my feelings are about the whole thing?

I feel pride. That's what I feel looking at this whole situation. A NCTzen friend asked my opinion about it too, I told her the same thing, and she said this is probably one trait I share with my biases, that's shining through. I feel such a strong sense of pride looking at Jimin, at Yoongi, at BTS. Even if they eventually decide to play the industry's game with their rules, my respect for them won't change. Who they are as people, and as artists, make tolerating the hellscape that is stan environments much more palatable. They make putting up with bullshit from this industry, much more doable.

When I first learned about Jimin's week 2 sales being deleted, I checked US stock exchanges to see if Billboard's parent company was listed. I was prepared to short the stock. The minute I realized it was owned by a private company, and when I saw the owner, I knew we were fucked. I continued donating for the sales though. I'm not American so I couldn't buy, so the donations were the next most direct way to support.

BTS could very well never reach again the heights they reached before enlistment. But I don't care. I've been listening to some of the best music I've ever heard in my life since July 2022. Yoongi in Valentino, Hobi in Louis Vuitton, Joon in Bottega Veneta, Jimin in Dior, Jungkook in Calvin Klein - it's been a feast. Jikook are jikooking harder than ever before like I still haven't gotten over the birthday video JK made for Jimin. Like what the fuck was that?

BTS are some of the most incredible people to ever exist. They say they trust each other and their team. I'm keeping my eyes wide open to assess the situation for myself always, while never losing sight of why I'm here in the first place: to enjoy myself with them and the art they make. I'll try Jungkook's recipes sometime soon, and neither Jimin nor Yoongi's music has left my current rotation. I'm going to see Yoongi soon. With all that's happening in the world, it feels like a priviledge to have the means to enjoy being a fan of BTS. Not many people get to experience this, to not just hear their music but to have this connection with them. If you doubt that just watch the Amygdala music video. With BTS there's a trust that can be felt, and I don't take it for granted.

Of course his no. 1 idol is Haruka. But for kpop it would have to be Girls Generation.

Its all because while playing Y5 where hes a taxi driver and takes place in 2012. I concluded that he has to have listened to Mr Taxi and was like "thats me :)" and i guess from then on he considered himself a SONE (or just a fan idk if he would know about fandom names lol)

Majima

A girl group/solo artists stan.

Definitely a huge inspiration for Goromi and her performances lol

Fav male Kpop groups?

Oh lordy, this is kind of a loaded question since I tend to prefer the male groups/soloists to the female counterparts, though I've been piqued by a few of our Gen5 girlies.

My introduction to Kpop was Super Junior waaayyyy back in the day [2009 kpop girlie here], so they tend to have a special place for me, even if I've reached a point of struggling to listen to their new releases.

The first group I learned all the members names for was Shinee [RIP Jonghyun]. ((Taemin was my original ult bias for a while, until well, NCT 127 came alone and Yuta promptly took the throne...that he now shares with Hongjoong and Yeosang as a member of my ult trifecta. XD))

NCT as a whole [127, Dream, WayV and the NCT U units mostly] was an insane amount of time trying to learn everyone, and sometimes I will blank out on actual names because there's so many. And honestly? SM needs to STOP adding more NCT members [I thought they had learned when Taro and Sungie were moved from NCT to Riize, but I was wrong, apparently].

Ateez, Stray Kids and OneUs were the first groups I watched any variety stuff for. These three groups, Ateez most of all, have helped give me the strength to keep fighting no matter how bad I want to give up. Ateez/NCT was also my first kpop tattoo [a lyric from NCT's "Beautiful" that's paired with Hethetmon. I plan on completing this tattoo with the second half to the lyric and how my ults draw their hearts between the lyrics].

Other than the main ones mentioned above though? Oh lordy.

I also listen to Woodz, Kingdom, Eric Nam, Kim Wooseok, Nu'Est, Monsta X, SuperM, Infinite, Beast [now Highlight], BTOB, 2PM, WannaOne, CIX, Cravity, Xikers, ATBO, Just B, Big Bang, Treasure, 7 O'Clock, Victon, SF9, The Boyz, Astro [RIP Moonbin], iKon, Kang Daniel...just so many. XD I know there are more I'm missing, but these are the ones I can pull off the top of my head.

Idk if it's weird to crave a certain group composition, but I've been wishing that there were smaller bgs like there are with ggs. This is an over-generalization, but the current trend seems to be that ggs hover around 4-6 members while bgs have been hovering around 7-9. There are obviously exceptions (txt has five, big bang and shinee perform as four, and there are larger ggs like twice). Maybe it's because of the bigger performance emphasis/expectations on bgs? My impression is that bgs are expected to 'fill the stage' more than ggs are. There are a number of 4-member ggs, but I'd be surprised to see a 4-member bg debut (though watch me just have entirely missed them) and I think that's why.

This might make no sense bc I'm an army and obviously love a group with seven members, but I wish there was a bit more variety? A smaller bg would probably have to have less of a performance-emphasis and more of a vocal-emphasis, but idk if that would play well. Mamamoo is imo the best vocal-emphasis gg but they've had lower-to-middle-tier, albeit consistent, success over the years

Hi! Sorry for not replying sooner. I'm very inconsistent these days, but I'm always grateful for your asks!

I'm only Army and a gg stan. The bgs I like are TXT, SKZ, Shinee, Exo, NCT, Enhypen, etc. - and I listen to them very casually, so I'm not bothered by the sizes of the groups. I don't know or care to learn every NCT member (no offense), but I know the names of all the members of the other groups. I get what you mean, but I can't stan anyone like I do BTS, regardless of the size of the group, so I'm kind of indifferent to it?

I think ggs are naturally "cooler" and more liked than bgs. Their image is trendier and GP friendly, so you have less members with a more distinct personality and brand, who hopefully resonate with kpop stans and the GP public, and become it girls. Since bgs are not as GP friendly and, like you said, are known for their performance and dedicated female fanbases, there's more of a focus on dancing and group and unit dynamics. It's all about power and coordination on stage, and being "chaotic", loud and touchy off stage. Also, the more members you have, the bigger the chances of one of them appealing to a fan, and the more PCs and album versions you sell lmao.

But I don't know. Right no gg with a lot of members is very popular (other than Twice), and TXT is the most famous small bg, but in the past Girls Generation were huge and Shinee too, so... I think people just realized the BP and NCT strategies worked?

You do have TXT who are a smaller group but not vocally oriented. They're still performance based despite the size. I guess it's easier for everyone to know the members individually and they have a stronger image too. I'm not sure they're that different overall from a bigger bg. They're just more people no one knows in a group like in The Boyz.

I don't know what I'm saying! I guess I have no opinion. It's a bit overwhelming when I see huge ggs on stage (like all of TripleS), so I prefer less members too. I'm too used to the same handful of bgs to complain about group size. I should've answered this ask when I'm not sleepy, sorry...

1. G-dragon&Shizuka: “King&Queen” (Zaragon/Jizuka) 

Jiyong and Shizuka met during her trainee days at YG Entertainment. She was only 19 years old and trained as a dancer. Our Jiyong fell in love with little Shizuka.Their first date was very simple. He took her to a traditional Korean restaurant to taste typical Seoul dishes. They kissed for the first time in Namsan Park. The kiss was tender and affectionate.They started to have a secret relationship. Their relationship lasted three years just before Shizuka's debut.  Yang Hyun-suk, the boss of the YG entertainment was aware of their relationship. For YG, shizuka is an angel fallen from the sky. When fans first saw Shizuka with G-dragon. They thought she could be the only woman who  can controls the Dragon. 

2. T.O.P&Shizuka “Romeo&Juliette” (iZatop/ ShiSeung) 

Shizuka met T.O.P while filming 71. into fire. She had asked G-dragon to see how a movie unfolds. She was the one who took care of T.O.P when he was injured in the eye. At first, he didn’t want to, but she still insisted on taking him to the doctor's. His doctor diagnosed him with an eye injury and told him that if Shizuka was not there to apply first aid relief his bruise to his left eye had been a little deeper, he would be blind.Since that day, he owes his life to Shizuka and falls madly in love with the young woman. Shizuka wasn’t very sure of this relationship and T.O.P did everything to make her girl happy. As a result, they announced their relationship to Jiyong who was already in a relationship with the girl. At first, he wasn’t very happy. T.O.P and G-dragon competed for Shizuka's heart and finally Shizuka offered to live together to avoid destroying the group. They bought a house in one of Seoul's upscale neighborhoods. 

3. Taeyang& Shizuka “ Daddy& Mommy” (Taezuka/ Yani) 

It is shizuka who will introduce the future wife of Taeyang. Shizuka became very friendly with Min Hyo-rin during her studies. She was bridesmaid during their wedding. Taeyang and Shizuka were like the moms and dads of the group. They are always behind the members. When Shizuka was with GD and T.O.P, she was still there to calm them when they started arguing. She liked Taeyang very much,He is her best confidant.

4. Dae-sung & Shizuka “The best friends” ( ShiDae/ D-Za) 

On May 31, 2011 around 1:40 am Daesung was involved in a serious car accident. According to police reports, Daesung hit a biker who was already lying on the ground, victim of a previous accident a few minutes earlier. The biker had indeed hit a lamppost while driving while intoxicated. Two cars in front of Daesung's saw the body and were able to avoid it, but Daesung didn’t see it. The biker is dead. After a month of investigation, Daesung was first charged with manslaughter and speeding. The YG announced in late June 2011 that Daesung's activities will be suspended until at least 2012. Daesung was very affected by this story. He remained locked in his room night and day, refusing to speak to anyone. Upon learning this news, shizuka helped the young man a lot to overcome this ordeal. She tried to cheer the young man up by telling him we only live once. Listening to Shizuka's advice, he apologized to the family who was very understanding and paid all funeral expenses. Thanks to the strength and determination of Shizuka, August 25, 2011 he is definitely cleared. All the evidence of Shizuka, The inspector in charge of the investigation announces that the evidence doesn’t make it possible to define whether the rider died as a result of his first accident or after being hit by the car of the singer. It has been established, however, that Daesung wasn’t driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident 

5. SeungRi&Shizuka “ Mother&Son” (ShiRi/ ViZa) 

When Shizuka was introduced to all members of the group by Jiyong, Shizuka became very attached to the youngest member. For her, he is and will always be the lost boy. She is the one who will help him impress Yang Hyun Suk for his last chance. Without the young woman, he would never be so successful in the k-pop industry. Like the other members, they think that shizuka is a goddess of music coming to help them. She has always been there to support them even during her trainee days at Big Hit. For her, SeungRi is lacking affection. It's his little boy. 

Author's note: I want to start with this group because it's thanks to them that I knew the world of K-pop with Fantastic Baby even if the first on board was Psy with Gangnam Style. I am very sad with what is happening for Seungri but for me it shows that even the IDOL of Kpop are HUMAN TOO . Have a good reading!

Please understand that I am a mother and a wife, so I will get to your request as soon as possible but it may take some time. If you hound me in my asks about your request or why I haven't done it yet, I will be forced to block you.

gonna be completely honest i only stan bts and ateez but i listen to other groups too-

I don't know enough about the Tsukinamis and Kino, so they're not gonna be included, though I can only assume Shin's taste would be on par with Ayato's and Subaru's.

Shu:

Doesn't listen to kpop that much, if at all

Probably only watches gg mvs because of the girls

That being said, I could see him at least knowing BLACKPINK because he watched the boombaya mv once

Probably listens to orchestral versions of kpop songs, though. No groups in particular, but there's a lot of orchestral versions of bts' discography on his playlist

Would definitely relate to Yoongi on a spiritual level

Reiji:

Because of @pastelpurplekeqing I cannot see him as NOT being a hardcore ONCE

Doesn't own any albums because he doesn't wanna be bullied by his brothers, but actively streams mvs

Is probably a TWICE solo stan but listens to other group's songs as well

I can see him liking some BTS songs like Black Swan, Fake Love, or BS&T

Ayato:

Your mission is to get your boyfriend jealous. What better way to do this by fawning over Stray Kids?

Jealousy had never been in Kevin Moon’s vocabulary. And you were damn certain it would never be.

That doesn’t mean you never try pushing his buttons every time you can, though.

“How can he be so hot?” You mutter to yourself, loud enough that it reaches your boyfriend’s ears. It’s a late lazy Sunday afternoon and you two are taking this time to unwind and relax, mentally preparing for the full week of work ahead. While Kevin is busy doodling across his sketchbook like he normally is, you take this time to catch up on the multiple kpop performances you’d missed earlier this year. 

And boy, have you missed out.

“Oh my god,” your lips go round as your eyes widen as big as saucers, gaze permanently fixed on the screen giving way to eight hot men dominating the stage with their fiery charisma and strong choreography, “Oh my-- holy shit I think I fell pregnant.” 

Kevin’s voice permeates through the hot summer air, “What you watching?” 

“Stray Kids,” you say absentmindedly as your eyes follow one particular member’s every moves. While you had fallen out of touch with the kpop world -- and you blame this on the concept of having a job and actually now going through adult life like anyone should be -- that doesn’t mean that you don’t get your phases, especially with one of your favourite groups you’ve been following since their debut.

“Stray Kids?”

“Yeah, jesus christ Kev-- Chan’s arms are to die for.” 

Admittedly, you wouldn’t have been so vocal about admiring other men if it’s not for your silent experiment of whether Kevin Moon will finally bite at the bait jiggling before his face. He’d be an idiot not to. 

But considering he is never even aware when other men look at you, you doubt that this time is going to be different. So you continue on:

“He’s not even my type of guy you know? I usually go for the tall skinny ones but somehow--he’s just so charismatic onstage. And did I tell you he’s Australian? I mean I’m not fond of Aussie accents but I don’t know I find it really sexy on him--”

“Woah Y/N, look at you. Talking as if you don’t have a boyfriend,” sarcasm drips from Kevin’s alto, causing your head to slowly turn with surprise, an eyebrow arching slowly at the way he seems hunched and rigid over his blank piece of paper, pen held so tightly in his grip it might snap in two.

“Kevin,” you draw out slowly as you try to hide your grin, “is that...jealousy I hear?” 

He scoffs, “I don’t get jealous."

"Sure could've proved me wrong."

Reverting your attention back to the screen just in time to catch a glimpse of Bang Chan's smile, you sighed in bliss, "his abs, though."

There is silence from Kevin's part, causing your lips to tilt into a small smirk of victory as you click on the next video that follows. You know him all too well that you assume he will probably sulk for the next hour that follows, and you're content with that, considering that you're not at fault.

You're too engrossed in your video that you barely realize that a shadow hangs behind your shoulder, before an arm shoots out to close your laptop.

You whip around with a scowl, "hey! What--"

But no sooner are you protesting that you feel Kevin's arms haul you up, turning so quickly you can barely register anything but the soft mattress welcoming your figure as you are plopped onto it, Kevin's frame hovering over yours. His face is all but amused.

Laughter bubbles up your throat, "what the --"

It cuts off into a gasp upon feeling his arms hooking around the back of your thighs to pull you closer, lips mere inches above yours and dark orbs gazing down at you with a thunderous depth. It halts any further comment you are about to make, takes your breath away.

Something warm coils within your stomach.

You are a little breathless when you say, "y-yes?"

"You want me to be jealous?" His lips curl slightly, eyes narrowing down at you while fingers ghost over your thighs, his touch igniting a series of sparks in his wake, "I'll show you jealous."

And then he's kissing you. Hard mouth on yours, intense. Demanding.

That's not the Kevin you know but somehow desire pools through you. He's never been this...aggressive.

He is holding your frame against his, fingers so firm and pressing on the back of your thighs before slowly slipping up to cup your ass. You gasp in response, hands automatically lifting to grab his shoulders only for his to grab them instead and pin them down by your face. His head tilts, lips moving to your rhythm and dominating your tongue the moment you gasp into his mouth.

The softest grunts rumbles up his throat when your hips buck up on instinct. He murmurs against your mouth, "not so chatty now, are we?"

"I--"

And then his mouth is latching onto your jaw, peppering a trail of warm kisses that makes your heart beat twice as hard, your body writhing with the delicious sensation of wanting him. He devours your neck, growling with satisfaction when he urges your fingers down onto the mattress to stop any attempts of escape. That's hot.

You're practically seeing stars at this point, the sounds of his soft suckling evocating a sensation of heat deep within your belly that your legs wrap around his waist on their own accord to pull him closer. And the moment his firm length presses onto your heat, he lets out a moan that has you trembling.

"If I knew how you'd react--" you stop to moan softly as he grinds his hips into yours. Lord, "I would've done it more often."

"What, that's your kink?" His breath ghosts over your skin at your collarbone now. You struggle against him wanting nothing more than to run your hands through his glossy raven locks and to scratch your nails down his back. But his fingers squeeze firmly nibbling at the skin of your shoulder, "you like seeing me jealous?"

"Hm, I won't say the contrary," you breathe out.

Ensuring that one of his hands cage your wrists together, his other slips down to trace your neck, the dip of your breasts, ghosting over your side before trickling down the inner side of your thigh. You take a shaky inhale. Waiting.

He's looking at you now, gauging every reaction that you gift him with like you're a fascination he can't quite make out and the intensity makes you squirm.

Slowly, oh so slowly that it makes your toes curl, Kevin starts a slow, sensual path of kisses down the middle of your chest and air gets stuck in your throat the more you watch him, practically holding back a whimper with every searing touch he imprints upon your skin.

He kisses down your navel, nipping and biting as he does while his heated breaths send waves of heat up your spine. At some point he releases your hands to grasp your waist and they instantly tangle in his hair, emitting a grunt from the said man.

He continues his sensual search using his mouth, hot breath fanning against your skin down the sides of your thighs, landing on final peck to your knee, before rearing back up to hover above your pelvis and finally tilting his face up to yours.

And that makes your breath catch in your throat. For in Kevin's eyes you read the dark desire, the craving he holds for you, the longing.

Your heart jolts to a stop. You swear you stop breathing as your gazes lock.

A beat passes. You swallow hard. Suddenly vulnerable under his hooded stare.

Then, before your brain can scramble for coherence, the raven-haired man leans over. He presses a kiss.

A sound between a mewl and a whimper escapes your lips.

You gape at him. He smirks back, thoroughly satisfied.

Slowly, he hoists up until his lips hover yours once more and at this point, you're pretty sure you're dead. What with the speed of your heart rate practically vaulting out of your chest.

"Well," he murmurs while one of his hands keep tracing up and down your side, "I guess I can leave you to ogle at your kpop boys--"

His words are interrupted by you shooting out to grab his t-shirt, pulling him down to kiss him. And oh, does he kiss back like a starved man, grunting and growling as your fingers tangle up in his locks to pull him even closer as your teeth sink upon his bottom lip. He gasps.

You pull away slowly then --merely coming up for air -- and gaze into his dark, bottomless orbs, "the only one I'm gonna ogle tonight is you."

His breath halts for a minute. He stares at you, eyes darting back and forth between your eyes and your lips.

And then, a crooked grin spreads across his face.

"I like the sound of that."

BTS 8th member ~ Trainee life

2 years. That's the time you had been training as a foreign trainee and you still couldn't believe you were lucky enough to be under Big Hit's label. Even more, lucky enough to be the only non-asian trainee in the whole kpop industry. Of course you knew this didn't give you any kind of privilege as well as you knew that being a trainee didn't necessarily mean you were going to debut. But you kept your hopes high for the sake of your motivation.

In this two years you had trained with the very best of the industry and you had seen more than 20 fellow trainees come and go. Some debuted, some changed agencies and some just let go of their dream to go back to their old normal life.

Because that's what it's was, an abnormal life. Waking up at 6am to go to the agency where you would take singing lessons and dance until exhaustion as well as, of course, your fare share of Korean lessons.

Today was no different and you woke up to your alarm at the usual time. All the other girls were already gone, having slept somewhere else because of their recent comeback promotions. You lived in the dorm of Gfriend as you were the only female trainee left in BigHit.

You had a quick breakfast (some yoghurt with muesly and a banana) and went down stairs to wait for your manager's car to show up.

The trainees had their own floor, which was the 9th floor. This was separated from the practice rooms where the groups that had already debuted trained. So when your manager today pushed the 16th floor button instead of the 9th, you were surprised.

'Why did he do that? They didn't notify me we were going to do any special training... ' you though to yourself.

When the elevator doors opened, you followed your manager through a corridor to the left and the through some big cristal doors into a conference room. You expected there to be people, but you didn't expect it to be who it was...

When you walked in, you saw a huge screen being projected onto the right white wall. A long white table in the middle of the room facing the projection. At the head of the table was the head of the company, Bang PD and around the table, on of the most famous and memorable groups of man history: BTS.

You were in shock, thinking you had walked in to the wrong room and quickly sarted bowing down in an apology. But before you could get any words out of your mouth, Bang PD stood up.

'Welcome Y/N, we have been waiting for you. Why don't you introduce your self? ' he said in a broken, but well intended English.

'What in the world is happening here?!'  You thought to yourself. But bowed down anyways and spoke in a shy but clear voice:

'안녕하세요, Y/N 입니다'

The boys quickly stood up and bowed back at you and then they all started saying their names, which was funny to see because, who in their right mind wouldn't know who they were?! It was so nice to see how humble and nice they were. This eased your nerves a bit and got you to calm down.

Right as they finished, Jimin got up and went to get a chair for you, so you could sit down between him and Jungkook. Facing Jhope, who was sitting at the other side of the table. Coincidentally, the three maknaes were sitting at one side, while the hyungs sat at the other one. Something you quickly noticed but didn't have time to think about as Bang PD had started speaking again, this time, in Korean.

'You are probably wondering why I got you all here today. As,  you all know, it had been quite some time since your last comeback' he says looking at the BTS members. ' We have done many different concept throughout the years, but you all said you wanted to try something new, something that had never been seen before in the industry. So that's were Y/N comes in' he says turning to look at you.

Now everyone's eyes are focussed on you, expectant as to see where this whole speech is going.

Bang PD continues: 'She is one of the best trainees we've had so far. Her rapping and singing skills are on point and her dancing is a killer. She has been training under our label for 2 years and we couldn't be happier with how much she has improved. She is fluent in Korean, English and her native language. She is all in all a perfect future idol' as he speaks your checks start growing redder and redder, how could he be saying such nice things about you? The president of the company himself!!

You look around you and the boys are looking as clueless as you are feeling. Well, all the boys except one. Namjoon speaks up: ' so I'm guessing you want her to debut with us on our next comeback'

You cuckle innerly ' no way they is happeni-'

'Exactly! ' you hear Bang PD say. You turn your head quickly to look at him, as if you wanted to make sure you hadn't gone crazy and were hearing and seeing things. Same went for the people surrounding you: the three maknaes and Jhope turned with a inquiring look in their faces to him. What was he talking about?

Seeing that only two of the members had gotten the idea (Suga and Namjoon), Bang PD continued to explain:

' Don't think of it as adding a new member to your group, but more as a collab with another artist. You guys wanted something new and she needs to debut ASAP as she cannot be waiting eternally for enough trainees to form a group. She would do this year's come back with you, this would be her debut and then you would part ways. She as a solo artist and you as the old BTS group. A perfect opportunity for her to learn of the best group in the charts right now and for you to have fresh young blood in the group. What do you think? '

A heavy silence fell into the conference room, no one daring to speak up as you had been all taken by surprise. This was a once of a lifetime opportunity for you, indeed, but at the same time you were scared you weren't good enough. But Bang PD had said you were the best trainee, hadn't he?

But the longer the silence continued, the more you started to lose your hopes for acceptance. You couldn't blame them, after all, you were just another trainee in the huge kpop industry.

But at that moment someone spoke up. Suga, who had been quiet the whole time, said: ' I think this is the perfect plan, so it's a huge and excited yes from me'

And as if he had set the timer off a bomb  everyone started speaking a the same time. Happily saying how this was a never seen before plan and how cool this collab would be.

Bang PD laughed and ticked his glass with his ring to ask for silence in the room. Then Namjoon spoke up: ' Well then, it's been decided. Y'all, meet Y/N, BTS' 8th member'

And with that all your nerves went away as extreme happiness replaced that empty space.

History: Lexi was born in Busan, South Korea then was adopted at the age of six by Mark and Ann King who were American doctors that volunteered every summer at the orphanage where Lexi was at. She was raised in Salem, New Hampshire, USA along with her adoptive brother, Tommy, who is 5 years older than her. Growing up, Lexi was constantly involved with sports and practiced piano. She mostly focused on competitive archery and track, piano being more of a hobby. When she was 13 years old she had asked her parents if she could audition to be a kpop idol. It took them two years, but they finally agreed. Her parents had friends who lived in Seoul and Lexi stayed with them as she auditioned in different companies. After the debut of BTS in June, a few months later in August, Lexi was added to the group. While Bighit had transferred all of their female trainees to Source Music, the company felt that maybe Lexi would be a good fit for the group due to vocals and visuals. And after seeing the success that B.A.P had with their female member, they thought that the same could happen with BTS.

Facts:

Only ever uses the name Blu when on camera. The boys mostly call her Lexi or Lex. 

She learned Korean growing up both at the orphanage and then with her parents, seeing as they also knew the language.

Due to the pressure of being the only girl and always in the spotlight, Lexi is always cautious of how she acts in front of the camera, giving her a cold persona.

She comes off as not caring what others think, but in actuality, is really sensitive (Cue in the overprotective members).

With the boys and friends she’s comfortable and is a clingy goofball with terrible jokes.

Is definitely not a dancer, but she is said to have a charisma on stage that would make anyone question if she’s a part of the dance line.

She didn’t have much lines, but she chose that due to her lack in confidence. She has been able to add more lines since her earlier days.

Likes to read, especially fairytales. That’s all she read when she was younger and related to many of them.

Is really into dark fantasy and horror.

Loves shopping and is a fashionista.

Something was off. You couldn’t put your finger on it but something had definitely changed. She no longer responded to your messages within minutes. She’d give excuses when you asked to Facetime. She worked late into the night. Your mind raced, trying not to jump to conclusions. Your mind flashed back to all of her affirmations of love. 

I love you...

I’ll never leave you…

You’re my soulmate...

You held onto those words, praying that the next time you met that she’d have an explanation for her behavior. The history between you two goes way back. You were her first relationship, her first love. You watched her grow into the headstrong idol she is today.

Though she was busy pursuing her dreams, she always made time for you. She’d cancel on her members and stay up late hours on the phone with you. She’d sneak out to just get boba in the middle of the night. The rare moments where you felt broken she was always there. The times where she couldn’t be she sent all of your favourite things: cookies, stuffed animals and the occasional Tiffany bracelet. You hated when she spent all her money on you but she was insistent on spoiling you and treating you like a princess. 

The more you reminisce on the past, the more you realized how beautiful the past three years had been. From what you thought was only going to be one night stand turned into a full three year relationship hidden from the cameras. No one could have predicted you’d both ended up here. When it finally happened, you were both in a state of bliss. A cheesy confession after a passionate session of love making. Could you two get any more stereotypical. You were the first to make the move to something deeper. It took her time but eventually Jennie allowed herself to feel love. After all of the struggle you had been through individually and as a couple, There was nothing that could have broken you apart. 

This made Jennie's recent actions over the past few weeks even more odd.  You laid on your bed confused. Why the sudden change? The one person who you would turn to wasn’t available yet posted about a new endorsement on Instagram. You slammed your Macbook closed in frustration—a gift she gave you. 

“What the fuck?” you screamed as you stared at the ceiling.  

“Hey, Let's talk it out now.” You almost forgot you had your friend listening to you on speaker phone nearby. You were so used to just speaking with no one around. “Have you tried to contact her members? What about Nayeon or Yeri? 

“They all are being just as shady as she is. But can I really be mad at them? Even if she’s cheating, why would they tell me? They’re her friends before they’re mine anyway...” 

You held back tears as you spoke the possibility of your girlfriend cheating into existence. 

“Have you tried reaching out to Kai?” 

Kim Jongin. Kai. The Dance King of one of the most popular kpop groups ever. He had drop dead gorgeous looks and public approval that you couldn’t compete with. You hated the idea when it was first brought up by YG. your mind thought back to that horrible day.

3 Months Ago

Jennie shuffled in the bed, disrupting the peaceful after-sex nap. She wore you out with all the toys, teasing, and overstimulation earlier. 

“Princess,” she purred in your ear. You already knew where this was heading. “I know you’re not sleeping.” 

“Well, I’m not now,” you said in your whiny voice. She always liked it when you whined a little. 

“Good,” she said. “Come look at me. I have to tell you something.” Slick fingers wrapped around your waist as you shifted under the duvet so you looked her in her eyes. You were greeted with a face full of concern. She looked distressed. Jennie bit her lip in nervousness. She knew what she was about to reveal would be a big blow to your relationship and put it to the test. You saw how hard it was for her to speak. 

“It’s okay,” you said, your heart beginning to race. “Take your time.”

“Please don’t freak out.” But it was too late for that; you were already freaking out. “YG thinks it's going to be a good idea for me to get into a scandal.” You continued to listen.”One that allows me to capitalize on internet rumors. They want me to start hanging out with Kai and then it will get revealed that I am dating him around the same time as my solo debut.” 

Your eyes widened. “What? Don’t they look at the internet? Why would YOU of ALL idols need to get into a dating scandal? They already dragged your name through the mud after what happened at the Lotte concert. Why would this be a good idea?” 

“After seeing the response from Hyuna and Dawn, they thought it would be good for me and Blackpink.” She played with the curls in your hair. “Plus, YG is trying to distract the media from something big that has been rumored to be going on with Big Bang and, you know, he always sacrifices us.” 

“Why are you trying to justify this? Jennie, this is a horrible idea. You’re just gonna let him do this to you? What if it backfires? Then what? What about me..?” Your emotions were starting to get the best of you as your voice began to shake. “How am I supposed to feel? You won't even tell your family about us. Now I'm just supposed to be cool while you spend what little free time you have with someone else?” 

You were tearing up. You didn't want to pressure her to come out but remaining in hiding was a huge deal for you. Your family all knew. Your friends knew. You wanted to shout to the world your love for her but you kept it secret, all for her sake. Now she was gonna be photographed and used like a tool to make YG richer. You had to let her know how you felt whether she was ready to hear it or not. 

You saw her face fall in real time. She already knew you were going to respond like this. There was nothing she could do. She was in a legal binding contract with YG Entertainment. Truth be told they decided all of this without her consent and had already finalized all of the non disclosure agreements before they even told her. 

“Y/N, I don't even want to do this at all. I don’t have a choice. I’m just trying to find a silver lining in a dark situation. The “relationship” has an expiration date and, trust me, I won’t leave him for you.” She kissed your forehead and pulled you into her arms. You laid there as she ran her fingers through your hair. You had no choice but to trust her and just pray and hope the situation between you and her would never change. 

You were brought back to reality, after recalling the frustrating memory. “I know the thought of Kai makes you feel a little insecure,” your friend said. 

“Don’t remind me…” 

“Y/N, if you feel this upset you’re going to have to ask her. You know Jennie can't hold up her act in front of you. Knowing is better than sitting around and wondering what’s going on,” she said. “Look I gotta get some sleep. It’s almost two in the morning. I’ll check on you tomorrow...and think about what I said.”

The line went dead and now you were left alone in the dark with your thoughts. You knew that your friend was right but you weren’t sure if you were ready for your questions to be answered. What if she was cheating? What were you going to do about it? How would you handle it? Were you prepared to leave all three years of memories behind?  

[1:47am] Jennie - Are you up right now? Can I come over? 

Seeing your phone light up with a notification from your girlfriend almost made you want to laugh. It was as if she knew that you were thinking of her, as if she had intercepted your negative thoughts of lies and cheating. 

[1:50am] I am. You can come over now if you want. I want to ask you something. 

[1:50 am] Jennie- I’ll be there in 20 mins. 

It was now or never. You got dressed, sporting your favorite pair of sweats and a T-shirt. You washed your face and brushed your teeth, worried about what came next. Anything could happen now. If things went well and everything was a figment of your imagination, it’d be over and the two of you would make love all night into the early hours of the morning. But if things went badly, you’d spend the rest of your night crying until you couldn’t cry anymore and burying yourself in a grave full of regret and doubt. Whatever the outcome, you told yourself, it was better than being stuck in a limbo of uncertainty. 

A sound at the door disrupted your thoughts. Jennie opened the front door, closing it shut behind her. She was wearing comfy clothes, probably coming straight from practice. Her demeanor was off, with a look of dejection plastered across her face. At the sight of her, your heart began pounding in your chest. She didn’t say anything until she put her coat down and grabbed a glass of water. 

The conversation started off with “Hey” and “How was your day?” The next four minutes were filled with small talk, awkward things that you never really talked about before. Her actions were off. She sat, closed off from you. Not once did she try to touch you. Not once did she try to kiss you. Not once did she say she loved you. Your mind already shifted into worst case scenario mode before she even opened her mouth. 

“Y/N, I loved you. I want you to know that.” She took a deep breath. Loved. Past tense. “I think It’s time for us to take a break.” 

“Why?” 

“I’ve been going through a lot after all of these scandals and the mounting pressure from YG and I don't want to keep being a bad girlfriend to you. You deserve better.” 

Every word that came from her mouth broke your heart into pieces. How could she suddenly feel this way? Why was there no emotion on her face? Why were there no signs of sadness or regret? What the fuck was the point of the past three years if she was willing to end it all without any sign of remorse. You couldn’t stand the silence and decided to speak, trying to keep your voice down. 

“Three Years. We’ve been together three years and that's all you’re gonna say? Seriously Jennie, be honest for once. I can see right through your bullshit. After all this time, why don’t you tell me the truth? Why have you been acting differently?Why haven’t you been answering my calls and taking your time to respond to texts? You don't stop by anymore and you don’t even want me to stop by the studio to bring you food. Why the sudden change?” 

You were so angry you hadn’t realized that you were screaming. 

Jennie sat there, stone faced and motionless. She knew the answer to all of your questions but couldn’t bring herself to crush you like that. She wanted this to end peacefully, to the point where you could still be friends. But she didn’t know if that was possible. Not after she betrayed you in the worst way. 

Back in Paris, she’d gone out for drinks with Kai. You’d both had too much and he flirted with you and you flirted back. She knew she was playing a dangerous line but the idea of playing with fire made her excited. One thing led to another and she crossed the line. She had sex with him, waking up in the middle of the night with her clothes scattered all over the hotel room. She quietly got dressed and left the room, ashamed of the mess she’d made. 

She cried in her own hotel room for the rest of the day, ignoring her phone and cutting off communication with everyone.  How could she be so selfish? Being drunk was never an excuse. She shouldn't have let herself go like that. She didn't deserve you. You needed someone who was gonna be strong, not a weakling who would betray their lover and jump in bed with the first man that flirted with them. 

Soon, she fell back into destructive habits. Everything was out of her control but the one thing she could control was her weight. She went into the bathroom and puked away all of her guilt. She was hoping that it would make all of the guilt and pain disappear but it didn’t. Kai was gorgeous and even though it would be easier, he wasn’t you. Truth be told, she had been denying the realities of her own sexual identity and that night confirmed it for her. She loved you and only you but she knew that you deserved better. She couldn't bring herself to break your heart. She treated you worse and worse, hoping one day you would get sick of her shit and leave but the day didn’t come. You were as loyal as a dog and would never leave her side. 

Currently, she was faced with the reality of continuing to lie or being honest with you. She chose honesty. “I fucked up. Y/N, I had sex with Kai.” Jennie burst into tears. “I’m so sorry” Jennie cried into her sweater. She couldn't even hold herself together, fearful of the best thing that ever happened to her would be walking out the door in a minute. 

You were motionless.The truth had come to the light and your worst fear was true. She’d lied to you, cheated on you, completely broken your trust… 

“For what it's worth, It was only one time,” Jennie explained, “and I was drunk. It’s not an excuse and I’m sorry I couldn’t keep my promise to you to be faithful. I know I'm full of shit. I couldn't handle the guilt and thought that if I pushed you away, it would help. But tonight I’m ready to be a woman and own up to my mistakes and let you know that I love you with all of my heart. If you can find it in your heart to forgive me, I’ll never ever betray you again. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove to you that I love you and that we can get past this. But if you want to call it quits, I understand. Y/N, the decision is all yours now.”

After watching kdramas on the streaming services I had, I kept seeing recommendations for weightlifting fairy, Kim Bok Joo.  So I found Viki.  Where I have been trapped, falling in love with a new show after new show ever since.

Shows and my ratings are below the cut.

Weightlifting Fairy, Kim Bok Joo Kim Bok Joo is a weightlifter who is finally realizing there’s more to life than just sports.  This features crushes, sweet sweet boys, wholesome ladies, and fluffiness. 10/10  This was SO GOOD!  IT still gives me the happiest of feels to even think about it.  I just fell head first into this drama.  If I had one, teeny tiny nitpick, it would be that I think the 2nd lead is a bit wooden in his acting.  I could never get a good read on him. Marriage not dating Fake dating-Plastic surgeon wants his mom off his back and to stay single.  He falls into real feelings.   10/10  I straight up love this one.  There's drama (the hair pulling in the mall made me shout with happiness).  I love fake relationship dramas and that is what this is, until it's not.  I just seriously adore this one. Princess Hours AU History, Girl finds out she’s engaged to crown prince in an arranged marriage.  She marries him and DRAMA ensues. 3/10  I liked parts of this one a lot, but I just felt like it dragged way too long and kept repeating itself.  Plus the 2nd leads Mom was horrible and I felt no pity for her ever.  The kiss in the middle between the leads was extra good though.

Goblin First supernatural kdrama.  An immortal can only die when his “bride” comes along to pull the sword from his chest.  He meets his bride and the Grim Reaper moves in with him. 9/10  It took me a bit to get use to this one as it was my first supernatural drama.  I had to look up some history for it, which I love doing so that was cool.  Once I was in though, the main couple HAD ME!  The Grim Reaper was also fantastic and I wanted more of his friendship with the leads. Super big BROMANCE in this one. I liked all the supporting cast members as well and the last few episodes had me legitimately sobbing.

What's Wrong With secretary Kim Secretary Kim is the perfect secretary until she quits and her boss will do anything to keep her (cause he loves her, but shh, don’t tell him that.) 10/10  The chemistry is on fire, the leads are amazing and I like the secondary and tertiary stories that are going on all around.  This just lit me up from within.  The only problem was I felt like the reveal of the flashback plot took a bit too long toward the end.

Full House (2004 version) Girls house is accidentally sold to famous actor.  Contract marriage ensues.  MORE FAKE DATING!! 9/10  I'm a SUCKER for fake married, so they had an easy lead. (Also a sucker for couples who fight to cover their feelings so add another check mark there) Once again, it took me a few eps to get into it, but once I did, the Main Couple were my jam.  Fighting to cover feelings is something that I understand and these characters do it in spades.  The family dynamic made me super happy as well.  My only complaint is I HATE HATE HATE the female leads “best friends.”

Fated to Love You Accidental pregnancy becomes marriage of convenience becomes so much more. 7/10  While a bunch of the side plots in this are super cringey, I bump it massive points for the middle to the end of the show.  Now do I think some of the stupidity went on a bit too long? Yes.  Just tell the woman you bought her painting and why!  Could have cut most of an episode out.  But the scenes with the Main Character talking to the baby…just ugh!!! And when I realized he had taken the baby furniture into his room….and eating cake with the baby!!  I was a mess for a few of those eps. Also the main guys laugh freaked me out. But be prepared to CRY in a few places.  

All I want for Love is You Follows a couple who go to school together and she follows him to medical school (even though she is scared of blood).  She’s a dumb jock, he’s a smart sweetie and both are crushing on each other, but hiding it. (He had REASONS, but bleh) 9.5/10  I love almost everything about this Cdrama except the last episode.  They cram months and years of stuff into like 5 seconds.  We don't have time to process that the lead character may be dead before oops nope he's back.  Now kiss and run off camera…what?? But everything leading up to that episode was so good.  The horrible were horrible, but ultimately slightly redeemable.  The main guys stole my heart.   It was everything, (just wish the last ep stuck the landing)

1% of Anything  Girl saves an old man, not knowing who he is.  The old man without her knowing makes her a condition of his will.  His grandson has to marry her to inherit.   9/10  Fake RELATIONSHIPS GIVE ME LIFE!  But seriously this one is pretty sweet, once again it does bog down in a couple of places, but overall, super sweet experience

Oh My Venus Girl who was super hot in high school gains weight and then gets dumped by her bf (of like 15 years).  She decides to lose weight.  Her trainer and she fall for each other in the process. 7/10-the Main relationship was great once it got going, but I struggled with the family/company drama.  I got slightly annoyed at the very end of the show when she was bigger again because of her pregnancy and the man wasn't cool with it.

Fight My Way Four best friends (2 girls, 2 boys) live in a apartment block.  Main leads are stuck in dead in jobs, missing out on their dreams.  But not for long.  Also they realize they are stupid in love with each other along the way. 10/10  A bit of a slower start, but after the like second episode I was in love with it.  I wish the girl's plot had been moved a bit faster earlier on, but overall, SO SO GOOD.  Although the ex-girlfriend in this one serves little purpose.  

The World Owes Me a First Love CDrama, Mobile gaming company CEO and his first employee fall in love while dealing with a new dungeon release for their game. 8/10  Perfectly lovely story with sweet people.  I was pleasantly diverted

Love in the Moonlight Historical Drama-Woman poses as man for plot reasons and accidentally becomes a eunich in the palace.  The Crown Prince falls for her anyway. 8/10  Apparently I really struggle with the historical dramas.  I liked most of this one, until the end when it got bogged down in its own plot.

Coffee Prince Girl poses as a guy to get a job.  The boss is super confused, but falling in love anyway. 9/10  A ton of sweet moments with some fake relationship and gender misunderstandings.  I really liked this one over all.  The moment that the main guy kisses the main girl (thinking she's a guy) is one of my favorite moments. Also a later kissing scene is in my top five favorite kdrama kisses.

You're Beautiful Once again, Girl poses as boy, this time as her twin brother, to help him get into a kpop group.  And while there...falls for one of the members.  The boys do figure it out fairly quickly and decide to help her.  6/10  Okay, but nothing special.  The main girl is good, but probably good she never played the brother.  But that was part of what made it weird.  We heard about the brother for the whole series, but we never saw any personality from him, just sort of heard about it.  And the 2nd female was super evil!

Drunken to love you My first Taiwanese drama.  Leads get drunk and married. They stay that way for the plot. 8/10  Stupid in all the best way.  It did drag a bit and the introduction of the character Daniel felt super forced.  Seriously just super campy and I loved it.

Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me Season 1  Cdrama. Poor girl moves into rich house and Rich boy falls for her (with mother rooting for it all)   1/10  The dubbing was bad, the music was bad, the acting was atrocious and I barely made it though and could not do the second season.

My Princess 9/10 Normal girl finds out she's the Princess of Korea. Love the main couple. A few confusing plot bits in the middle and the two politicians add very little to the story. Ending was a bit confusing, is she still the princess or not? Mask 7/10 Woman is forced to take the place of her doppelganger and falls in love with her new husband. melodrama Main couple is too precious for words. Their romance is wonderful. The 2nd leads (and villain couple) are delicious. The sister is layered and understandable while the man takes moustache twirling to a new meaning. Suspicious Partner 10/10 Law student accused of murdering exbf, works with Prosecutor who loses his job over her case. They fall in love and solve murders. Also Super Adorable and ridiculously attractive. A few slow moments made up for by some really intense ones. Could have probably been tightened up into fewer eps, but all bad points made up for by supporting office characters (Investigator Bang and the CEO are the BESTEST)  Bromance!
