Imagine Talia Al ghol having a sister Orr a twin sister?? Like everyone also talks about Damian having a twin.
And like Damian def views his aunt as a second mother. Like aunt reader shows Damian a more loving side like we know Talia loves him. She just doesn’t show it much/ at all. Also aunt reader has more of a curly hair type, and when she straightens it she looks exactly like Talia. And girl dad ra prefers when reader doesn’t straighten their heir, so he can tell his two little girls apart. Because they definitely get a bit mad when he gets them mixed up.
Ra’s at his already old age having seeing problems: ah reader it has been a very long time, come closer. Have you straightened your hair?
Talia: no father I have not..
Ra: oh.. when was the last time ur sister came by?
Talia: 5 years ago, when Damian went with 𝐡𝐢𝐬 father.
Ra: hm
Twin reader: oh family! Am I late?

Hey Nillian !
Can you write the bullies and Moon Dong-eun x ex bully female reader. while the bullies never changed, female reader has become more better and genuinely sweet, respectful, matured and she doesn't get punished by Dong-eun but instead they became friends, leaving the bullies are jealous and confused.
A Change Of Heart

Pairing: Moon Dong-eun x Ex-bully Fem! Reader, Bullies x Fem! Reader
Summary: A former bully seeks redemption, befriends Moon Dong-eun, and leaves her unrepentant old friends behind, making them realize they are the ones being left behind.
Author's note: none
You didn’t know what was wrong with you back in high school. Maybe it was peer pressure, maybe it was something uglier—either way, the truth was undeniable. You were a bully. Not just someone who went along with it, not just a passive bystander. You actively participated in making people miserable.
Looking back, it disgusts you. The things you said, the things you did. At the time, it all felt so easy, so insignificant. But now, as an adult, you see it for what it was—cruelty. Mindless, senseless cruelty. And the worst part? You can’t take it back.
You wish you could apologize to every single person you hurt. But you know apologies don’t fix everything. If they told you to go to hell, you wouldn’t blame them. You’d accept it. Because no matter how much you’ve changed, the past doesn’t just disappear.
The first step toward becoming a better person was cutting ties with them—your old friends, the ones who never changed. It wasn’t easy. They mocked you, called you weak, a traitor. But you knew the truth. They weren’t your friends. Not really.
It took years to unlearn the person you used to be. Years of self-reflection, of making amends where you could, of learning how to be kind without expecting anything in return.
You won’t ask for forgiveness. You don’t deserve it. But you’ll keep trying to be better anyway. Because it’s the only thing you can do.
Though it was easier said than done now that you came face to face with Moon Dong-eun.
You had to admit—you were scared to say anything. You knew an apology wouldn’t simply do. It wasn’t just about the words; it was about the years of suffering she endured, the irreversible damage that had been done.
Her gaze was cold, calculating, and for a split second, you braced yourself for the worst. Would she humiliate you? Would she destroy you the way she had destroyed the others? You wouldn’t fight it if she did.
But instead, she simply looked at you.
And you—standing there, not as the cruel teenager you once were, but as the woman who had spent years trying to change—held her gaze and did something none of your old friends would have ever done.
You bowed.
A deep, sincere bow, one of regret, of acknowledgment. "I don’t expect anything from you," you said quietly, your voice steady despite the nervous knot in your stomach. "I won’t waste your time with excuses or empty apologies. But I need you to know that I’m sorry. And I’ve spent years trying to be better. Not for forgiveness. Just… because I should."
Silence stretched between you. The old you would have been terrified of it, would have filled it with nervous laughter or empty justifications. But you stood your ground.
Finally, Dong-eun sighed. She studied you, her sharp eyes searching for something—perhaps insincerity, perhaps weakness. When she found neither, she nodded, almost imperceptibly.
And to your utter surprise, instead of walking away or something worse, she said, "Let’s get some coffee."
The news that you and Moon Dong-eun were on speaking terms spread faster than wildfire.
Your old "friends"—if you could still call them that—were the most affected.
"What the hell is this?" Yeon-jin sneered, arms crossed as she glared at you. "Did she break you so bad you’re licking her boots now?"
You sighed, exhaustion settling in. "Believe it or not, not everything is about revenge, Yeon-jin."
"Then what is it about?" Sa-ra scoffed, barely looking up from her nails. "You think playing nice will erase everything?"
"No," you admitted. "Nothing erases the past. But I can choose who I am now."
Hye-jeong rolled her eyes. "God, you sound so pathetic."
Maybe to them, you did. But as you thought of the quiet conversations over coffee with Dong-eun, of the moments where she almost smiled, of the way she seemed to accept—not forgive, but accept—that you were no longer the same person… you realized something.
You didn’t care what they thought.
And judging by the way Yeon-jin’s forced smile twitched, how Sa-ra’s indifference faltered, and how Hye-jeong’s voice held an edge of insecurity—maybe they knew that, too.
Maybe, for the first time, they were the ones feeling left behind.

RUMBLING [all of us are dead]
SYNOPSIS → DESPITE EVERYTHING, KIM SULLYOON IS THE STAR GIRL of her class and, perhaps, of her entire school. If she's honest, it's not something she finds difficult, her mother always says that it's the kind of thing that comes naturally when you strive for what you want and you're a good person.
Sullyoon is no one special. She doesn't have the best grades, she's not the president of her class, she doesn't play any sports and she doesn't usually speak in public. But she's kind and, somehow, she manages to make herself noticed. Her father often says that she's like a little ray of sunshine encapsulated in the earth, to cheer up the people around her, warming them with her light. However, her smile never shone the same after the death of her older sister.
Sullyoon and Haewon had been like nail and dirt. Despite Haewon being a couple of years older, they used to do everything together, as if they were attached at the hip. It was a fateful day when her sister was out with her friends and upon returning home, a drunk driver hadn't seen her crossing the street. Hit and left to fend for herself in the middle of the darkness was how Kim Haewon took her last breath, condemning her sister to a life without her.
But when you're the star girl, there are certain expectations placed on you. Sullyoon isn't allowed to fade away in sadness over her sister's death because the world has dictated that she is the cheerful girl. And Sullyoon plays the role as best she can. Still, how long can she fake a huge smile when a virus appears and pushes her to the brink of death? How much can she endure before she explodes like a supernova?
The clock is ticking, time is running out and Kim Sullyoon, the star girl, is starting to run out of patience.

I’m having dramatic thoughts about Damian being born to Fem!Bruce ok I’m having THOUGHTS
(TW for alluding to Damian’s conception being nonconsensual)
Okay so set the stage of our Drama- Fem!Bruce (or just AFAB idc) is out on patrol or something and League Parent (Either Talia as in canon, or Ra’s if we’re feeling the creepy old man tonight) drops Damian off with “Hey, watch our son that you birthed and then I stole and let you think was dead for ten years, there’s some infighting in the league.”
(If we’re using Ra’s as dad then Talia is absolutely trying to kill Damian for the position of heir)
Bryce is, understandably, shocked. Her other children? Even more so. Because what do you mean you had a biological child? How did we not know about this?!
Damian isn’t old enough to be pre-robin unless he was cryogenically frozen. Did Bryce really hide a whole fucking pregnancy from them?
Dick is screaming, Jason shows up because he has to see this shit for himself, Bryce is standing in silence, staring at the results of every single test she can think of to confirm that yes, this is her son, this is her Damian, all the info matches up…
Tim tries to speak up, but Jason just turns on him, asking if he’s ready to be replaced too. Bryce didn’t even have to go looking this time!
Tim looks him dead in the eye and points out the birthdate(and death date) on file for Damian Wayne.
It’s exactly eight days before Jason was taken in.
How did Dick and Jason not know about this?
Because they weren’t there.
In the short period of time when Dick was striking out on his own, and before Bryce picked up Jason, League Baby Daddy of your choosing shows up and takes advantage. A simple greeting, a spiked drink, a blurry night, and a pregnancy test later…
Bruce is, as always, in any universe, is terrible at communication. But honestly she can be excused in this case. How exactly do you tell your wayward son ward that, after chasing him off because he was “being reckless” and “putting himself in danger,” you’ve gone and gotten taken advantage of, trusted someone that you had absolutely ZERO business trusting, and now you’re pregnant with an Al Ghul baby? And you’ve decided to keep it? That this isn’t you replacing him or demanding he return, because you understand his need for space, but also you desperately want him back with you because you’re scared but you can never admit it?
How do you do that in a text? Because Dick is not answering the phone.
You don’t. Thats a conversation you have face to face. So the messages Bryce leaves are all “there are some changes and i’d like to talk to you” “there may be a new member of the family soon” “please answer me chum”
Dick doesn’t answer.
Meanwhile, Gotham crime is being weird because “hey robins gone! Dynamic duo is out!” And Bryce is being careful because of her belly and sometimes she has to take breaks and hormones are bullying her and nothing is going her way right now.
And them she goes into labor too soon.
And something goes wrong (League Baby Daddy happens) and she’s told her baby is dead, and now she’s lost two children.
She recovers, and goes back out onto the streets, taking her rage and pain out on the criminals that got a little too bold with her in a hospital bed…
And then there’s a street rat jacking the tires off the Batmobile.
The fucking audacity. The guts. The challenge in his bright blue eyes, the sneer on his lips, the shaggy black hair. Skin just a bit darker than hers, not quite an Al Ghul’s deep olive but somewhere in the middle.
Is this what her Damian would have looked like? Is this what her son would have grown up to be?
Maybe its the hormones, maybe she’s projecting. She knows its a bad idea, but Bryce takes the kid home. Alfred gives her a knowing and slightly disapproving look, but accepts the new child with open arms, because there’s worse things. Jason fits in easily, and soon enough, Batman has a Robin again, and Bryce is smiling again, and begins to heal from the pain of losing Damian.
But Dick? Dick is PISSED.
Upon seeing news of a new Robin/Wayne, he finally looks though his messages, and comes to the wrong conclusion that Bryce was looking for a kid to replace him this whole time. She might have tried to get his input, but had eventually made a decision like this without him. And so he’s back, and he’s angry, and Bryce gets defensive because Jason is a good kid and she can’t use her dead baby to win an argument, not when the wound is so fresh.
So life continues. Jason dies, comes back, is angry because he listened in on a few arguments and now ALSO thinks Bryce actively hunted him down to be Robin, and now she’s done the same with Tim.
Bryce keeps quiet, because how is she supposed to explain after all these years? Jason is right to be angry. She let her emotions get the better of her and dragged a sweet boy into her life. The loss of all three if her children was her own fault, because she put him into the line of fire. There’s no excuse for that.
So years pass. Tempers settle somewhat, Bryce holds her grief close to her chest because she can’t do that to her children, but… then Damian is back. And it all explodes.
The story comes out in bits and pieces. Tim figures out a timeline based on the rest of the info in the file, and Bryce and Alfred slowly fill it in.
And like- they’re all still angry, and it is justified, because what the fuck, Bryce. But also…
Dick is horrified. He had been so angry, so so angry, reading those messages that he now knows, with this new information, were a cry for help. Bryce had been desperate and scared and wanted nothing more than to just talk to him after their fight, and when he had come back after something like this had happened he had immediately started another fight.
Jason isn’t sure how to feel. He hadn’t been taken in to be a replacement soldier, he had been taken in to be a replacement son. What is he supposed to do with that? Knowing that Bryce had seen him at his worst, and taken him in and shoved down her grief to help him?
Tim is wondering if every time Bryce backed away with an unreadable expression, it hadn’t been keeping herself emotionally distant, it was grief for the sons she had lost.
Steph is realizing that Bruce wasn’t lying, when Steph had to give her own baby up and Bryce had hugged her and said “I understand.”
Damian is sitting in a corner wondering what the ever-loving FUCK is going on. Why is everyone crying this is pathetic. Father take him home he prefers the threat of imminent death.

The batfam thinking the League was transphobic towards transfem Dami. Meanwhile Dami was raised by an openly bi mom, a lesbian aunt Nyssa, a pansexual uncle Dusan, a trans Ra's and grew up with her asexual cousin Mara. Damian didn't even need to come out, she just woke up, told her servants to dress her like they dressed her mother and everyone was like "Oh okay, the heir to the League is a girl" and that's it.
Okay yes this is hilarious and also sorry for the late response! I was thinking of how Bruce got set up with Talia in this because Ras is pretty sexist (immortals am I right?) so I needed a work around but I found one!
Talia: Baba I don’t want to inherit the league! I want to be a doctor ballerina!
Ras feeling his blood pressure rise: If you keep your grades up and go to a good medical school then fine.
Talia beaming: Thank you!
Later does in fact become a med school ballerina.
Ras: Great another child only sometimes helping me with the league for my sake and not to inherit. (Also pays well) Now what do I do!?
Bruce giving wet cat energy and a hunger for vengeance and peace for all.
Ras: He could work!
Some tests and training later.
Ras: Now Talia you agreed to meet him but I understand that it doesn’t mean you’re interested.
Talia: I came because you said he was a deeply closeted chaotic bisexual that gave wet cat energy now show me.

.Face of another.
Aunt reader <3333 not really a chapter 🤷🏽♀️ this is just a like outline of how I went things to goooo
It was a regular night, but you guess not. All the bats and birds were focused on a new interesting case, to interesting to pay attention to the shadowy figure only six feet away.
You were expecting better from the infamous Bats and birds. You had heard a lot, especially about Batman.
Oh
Oh how big he’s grown, oh he’s almost pasted you height.
“Oh Damian, how’ve big you’ve gotten.” You couldn’t help but to whisper. It was like just yesterday he was asking you to read him a bedtime story.
“Did anyone hear that?” A boy around 17, with black and blue eyes said. If you hadn’t done some research you would have thought he was Bruce’s biological son.
You had supposed they would have noticed you sooner or later. You aren’t trying that hard to keep your presence unknown.
“Who’s there.” A deep voice said, has your gaze turned to the one who muttered those words.
Jason
You had not been that close to the boy when he ‘joined’ the league. You held respect for him though, his relationship with Damian was good.
“ apologies, for interrupting. Sell I come by another time? You all seem busy.” You said, taking your time stepping out of the shadows.
“Talia, what are you doing here” Bruce asked stepping in front of Damian.
“Bruce.. Don’t call me my sisters name.”
Safe to say the bats were shocked, sister they never heard of Talia having a sister. Of Ra’s having another daughter!? Who would want to have two kids with him?
And you and Talia looking almost identical? Oh boy that was even weirder and you both sounded alike, who’s to say you weren’t Talia with a parm!
They didn’t trust you, and you could tell by the way they all held their weapons up.
“I’m not here to harm any of you, I’m simply visiting my nephews.”
“How do we know you’re not Talia? What if you’re just trying to take Damian away!” This time dick answered, he was holding up his little electrified glow sticks.
A chuckle
You let out a loud chuckle. Because if you really wanted to take Damian back you would have already done it.
“I am Talia twin sister, [reader Al ghul] the heart demon.”
“Father, we need to have a conversation” Talia said, walking into her father’s personals office.
“Talia what is it? I’m busy”
“It’s about [reader], she’s back.. back for Damian”
Guys I know it’s little but like 😔I was running out of ideas, if you are confused, just ask about it!!

Hey bae♡ can you write about the glory bully characters x quiet female reader?
I know you already did the other one but this one however it's more like female reader is quiet but except she's creepy, stares into your soul type
in this scenario: Park Yeon Jin was the one killed So Hee and thought no one would find out
But when creepy quiet female reader reunited with the bullies, she stares into Yeon Jin's soul and she eerily says "I know it was you who killed her" and left.
Leaving the bullies in stunned, especially leaving Yeon Jin scared
(No need to rush babygirl as always ♡ ̆̈)
Bury A Friend

Pairing: The Glory Bullies x Creepy Quiet Fem Reader
Summary: Yeon-jin’s guilt over a tragic accident she caused resurfaces when a mysterious, silent girl from her past confronts her at a high school reunion, exposing her dark secret and leaving her fearful of the consequences.
Word Count: 1.3k
Author's note: Okay sooo I feel reader isn't as creepy as I wanted her to be.
“Oh, I think I really messed up.” Yeon-jin’s voice trembled over the phone, barely above a whisper. Her hands shook as she gripped the cold edge of the abandoned building, her heart pounding like a drum. “We were being dumb, just messing around on the roof, and something caught on fire.”
Her gaze fell to the still body of So-hee sprawled on the hard, unforgiving floor. The girl’s clothes were charred and torn, smoke still rising faintly from the edges. Yeon-jin’s stomach churned, her throat tightening as she fought back a wave of panic. The weight of what had happened was too much. She didn’t know what to do.
Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision as her mother’s voice cut through the chaos on the other end of the line.
“There was this girl...” Yeon-jin’s words cracked as she glanced down at the piece of So-hee’s clothing, which was now smoldering. “She started screaming and freaking out and then she… fell. It’s true, I swear! She just—she just… fell.” Her voice broke, but she quickly stifled the sob that threatened to escape.
“We were alone! Just messing around. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.” Yeon-jin could feel the panic rising in her chest, suffocating her. “Mom, what do I do now? Huh? Are you there?”
Her mother’s sharp voice sliced through the air, harsh and demanding. “Get a grip, Yeon-jin! First, get away from there. I’ll have Mr. Shin call you right away.”
She could feel the panic draining her strength as she mechanically followed her mother’s instructions. What else could she do? She wasn’t equipped for this, for the mess she had created.
“Stop crying and get it together! Did anyone see you? Any witnesses?”
Yeon-jin glanced around the rooftop, her eyes darting frantically. The space was eerily still. No one. No one was there.
“Uh, no. I don’t think so,” she said, her voice trembling.
“You better make sure! Look around you!”
“I did, Mom. There isn’t anyone here! There’s no witnesses!” she yelled, her voice breaking.
If only she had checked more thoroughly. If only she had been more aware. If only she had seen you standing just beyond the corner, your presence blending into the shadows. You, the girl who never spoke, who never quite fit in with the others. The girl who always watched.
Sunghan High School organized a reunion for its former students. Yeon-jin had been hesitant, not wanting to face anyone, but when she learned that the others were attending, she couldn’t resist. They had to keep up appearances, right? She couldn’t let them see her as weak or scared.
The gymnasium buzzed with chatter, laughter, and the occasional reunion hug. Yeon-jin entered with the same air of confidence she had cultivated, dressed in a sleek black dress that made her feel untouchable. She walked toward the table where the others were already gathered: Sa-ra, Hye-jeong, Jeo-joon, and Myeong-oh.
"Can you believe they set up a high school reunion?" Sa-ra asked, laughing as Yeon-jin approached. Yeon-jin laughed softly, setting her purse down on the table, but her mind was elsewhere.
An hour passed as the others joked and reminisced, but all the while, Yeon-jin couldn’t shake the sense that something was wrong. Her heart started to race when she noticed a quiet, familiar figure standing in the corner of the gym. A presence she couldn’t ignore.
You were there.
Standing alone, like a shadow. Your unnerving gaze locked onto her from across the room. Her breath hitched, and a wave of unease spread through her.
The others didn’t seem to notice the tension mounting in the air. Sa-ra kept talking, oblivious to the growing discomfort around Yeon-jin. But Yeon-jin knew. She recognized you instantly. It was you—the quiet, eerie girl from high school. The one everyone ignored, the one who kept to herself. The one who never said a word, but always watched.
The tension thickened as your gaze never wavered. Not once. It was like you were looking straight through her, like you knew something she had buried deep inside. Yeon-jin’s heart hammered in her chest, her throat tightening.
The conversation around her seemed to fade, replaced by the pounding rhythm of her pulse in her ears. You hadn’t moved. Your eyes never left her. It was like you were studying her, dissecting her every reaction. A shiver ran down Yeon-jin’s spine.
“I think that’s y/n,” Sa-ra said, laughing. The others glanced over, unsure of who you were, but Sa-ra’s voice broke the heavy silence. Yeon-jin wanted to look away but couldn’t.
Hye-jeong, Myeong-oh, and Jeo-joon joined in the conversation, all of them casually commenting on how “awkward” it was to see you back at the reunion. But Yeon-jin didn’t care. She was too busy trying to breathe, trying to ignore the creeping sensation that something was terribly wrong.
And then, it happened.
The gymnasium, once filled with the sounds of laughter and chatter, seemed to quiet as you began to move toward their table. Slowly, as though every step was deliberate, you closed the distance between yourself and the group. The air grew heavier, like a storm was building. Everyone watched you, confused and curious, but also unsure of what to expect.
When you reached their table, you stopped. You didn’t say a word. You simply stood there, your cold, intense gaze still fixed on Yeon-jin. The others fell silent, the tension palpable, as if the very atmosphere around you had changed.
Yeon-jin felt her pulse skyrocket, her breath shallow. She tried to move, to say something, anything, but she couldn’t find her voice. She could only watch as you stood, unmoving, staring at her like she was a mere insect beneath your gaze.
Finally, you spoke. Your voice was low and soft, but it carried the weight of something far darker.
"I know it was you who killed her."
The words were like ice-cold water splashing on her face. Yeon-jin’s world seemed to slow, her body frozen in place as your words echoed in the room.
It wasn’t an accusation. It wasn’t a question. It was a statement of undeniable fact. And in that moment, it felt like the world had tilted on its axis.
Yeon-jin’s face went pale. Her stomach churned as fear seeped into every bone in her body. Her eyes flicked around the table, but the others were silent, unsure of what to say. Her pulse hammered in her ears, drowning out everything else.
"You..." Yeon-jin tried to speak, her voice a mere whisper. “You—”
But she couldn’t finish the sentence. Her words were swallowed by her fear.
And then, without another word, you turned and walked away, your presence still hanging in the air long after you had disappeared into the crowd.
Yeon-jin stood there, frozen, as her world shattered around her.
The others looked at each other in stunned silence, unsure of what just happened. None of them dared to speak. Sa-ra’s smile faltered, her previous laughter now a distant memory.
Yeon-jin couldn’t move. Her heart pounded in her chest, her skin cold as ice. You knew. You saw everything. The weight of your gaze still lingered, suffocating her with the knowledge that you were out there, watching, waiting for the right moment to expose her.
The reunion, once filled with warmth and nostalgia, now felt like a nightmare. And Yeon-jin couldn’t shake the feeling that you were out there, lurking in the shadows, ready to bring everything crashing down.
And with that thought, she knew: It wasn’t over. It was just beginning.
And there was nowhere she could hide.

RUMBLING chapter 07: a short break
SULLYOON ARRIVES AT THE CLASSROOM JUST IN TIME to get her lunch that her father packed for her before they are allowed to leave classes for lunch. She feels much calmer and believes that she deserves it, since she has had the second worst day of her life, nothing would ever compare to the day Haewon died. She takes the lunch and sighs when she glances over it, the redhead can't help but smile slightly at the thought of her father getting up early to prepare it.
Thinking about her father makes the moment bitter, she feels her coat, just to be able to feel the bulge that the bottle of Adderall pills forms and wants to have her phone so she can write to him, ask him how he is doing or anything, but she can't. Sullyoon leaves the classroom following the crowd. A couple of people greet her and she continues to maintain her façade, she knows exactly what to say, how to say it, even with what intonation to say it. She follows the crowd at a slow pace, almost dragging her feet. She is not really in a hurry and does not really feel like eating.
Sullyoon still has an upset stomach and her throat is still burning from vomiting, she doesn't think she will be able to eat, but she thinks she needs it anyway. The last thing she wants is to waste the lunch her father made her after stealing his pills. She thinks she owes him that. The girl is halfway to the cafeteria, when she feels arms surrounding her with great force. She staggers and feels them holding her to prevent her from falling.
She feels her soul sink to her feet when she thinks that that guy called Gwinam has caught her again and now Lee Suhyeok is not there to save her. Sullyoon looks over her shoulder in panic, terror beating in her chest, but that fear disappears when she comes across Gyeongsu's radiant smile.
"You scared me" She murmurs, forming a huge smile. This one is real, she feels truly relieved that it's her best friend and not that guy.
"You brought lunch" Sullyoon lets him put his arms around her shoulders as they both walk with the rest of the crowd. "Did you stay with your father last night?"
"Yah! How can you tell if she stayed with her father last night just because she brought lunch?" The redhead turns her head to look at Isak. The black-haired girl comes with Onjo hanging on her arm.
Gyeongsu smiles sarcastically.
"Best friend stuff" Sullyoon can only smile even bigger when the boy squeezes her affectionately.
She laughs softly, feeling all the bad thoughts go away for a moment. They both walk while the boy tells her happy things that keep her smiling, until they finally reach the cafeteria. The redhead knows that her best friend will want to sit with his group of friends, and although she doesn't hate any of them or doesn't tolerate them, she prefers to be alone than to be surrounded by men.
"I think I'll sit over here…"
The Kim girl leaves her sentence hanging as she points to a table a little further away from the other students, next to the windows. For a few seconds, she feels as if she had told him that she hated him and had spit in his face, due to the grimace of horror that forms on his face.
"Are you crazy?!" Gyeongsu screams completely indignant. Sullyoon raises her eyebrows in surprise. "As best friends, we must have lunch together, and it's your time to interact with Cheongsan, finally. Anyway, don't think I was going to let you get away with that delicious lunch."
The redhead feels loved for a few seconds, as she watches him hang on her arm like all the girls usually do, certainly doing his best to make her feel much more comfortable than she is next to him. They both begin to walk towards a table full of boys. She can see Daesu, Joonyoung, Woojin, Suhyeok and Cheongsan, everyone at the table talking happily and she soon feels her good mood immediately decline. She doesn't think she can fit in that formation, much less cope with the environment.
She tries to tell Gyeongsu off and tell him that it's really better for her to sit on her own, but the boy doesn't give in, instead, he holds on to her even tighter and actively guides her to the table. Before she can run, she is already in front of the table and, unfortunately for her, in front of Cheongsan. The boy raises his head as he slowly chews his food. Since Sullyoon has fallen in love with the boy, this is perhaps the first time he looks at her and actually sees her. The expression on his face alerts the other boys, so all heads turn to her.
“Do you mind if Sully eats lunch with us?” her best friend asks, sitting down. He pulls her hand, forcing her to sit next to him.
Sullyoon sits awkwardly at the table. She’s squeezed between Gyeongsu and Suhyeok with Cheongsan watching her as he eats.
“Aren’t you going to get a tray?” Daesu points at her with his metal chopsticks as if she’s weird.
Instead of answering, the girl lifts up the containers that hold her lunch. Daesu raises his eyebrows and makes a face of approval, as if her choice to bring food was a good thing.
“Mr. Kim makes excellent food,” Gyeongsu points at her, as he slowly stands up. “I’ll go get my tray.”
Sullyoon raises her head impressively quickly. She can’t believe what she’s hearing. Is he really going to leave her alone in that place? Surrounded by people she barely knows? She immediately grabs the sleeve of his shirt and looks at him with wide eyes.
“Wouldn’t you rather… uh, eat some of my food?” she offers. “I’m not very hungry and it’s too much food.” Luckily for her, Gyeongsu smiles openly.
“And that, gentlemen, is why it’s good to have a best friend.”
Gyeongsu sits back down with a triumphant smile, taking the chopsticks and uncovering one of the containers with the excitement of a little boy. The other boys at the table watch them with interest as they both begin to eat. Sullyoon offers the others some, but most of them decline, except Daesu, who takes some kimchi, soon after the conversation flows between them again.
“I heard that today at soccer practice, one of the third years ate a ball straight to the face,” Woojin comments with a laugh, leaning over the table.
“Was it Jisung?” Suhyeok asks, looking up curiously.
"No, worse. It was Seojun. And the best part is that he tried to act tough after falling on his back," Woojin continues, gesturing with his hands to emphasize the scene.
"Ah, no," Daesu laughs. "There’s no way Seojun just got up like nothing happened after that."
"He did! I swear. He stood up, said something like “calm down, guys. I’m fine, nothing happened” and five seconds later he fell again," Woojin shakes his head, still laughing.
Laughter breaks out around the table, even Sullyoon can’t help the small smile that creeps onto her lips. Suhyeok, who has been discreetly watching her, shoots her a glance before turning his attention back to the conversation.
"And what did you do?" Cheongsan asks with a half smile.
"Nothing. We just stood there, staring at him in silence until the coach came,” Woojin shrugs. “It was like an episode of those comedy shows where everyone pretends nothing happened.”
“I can’t imagine,” Gyeongsu comments with his mouth full. “We should have been there,” he mutters, giving the girl a friendly nudge with his shoulder. She just smiles and continues chewing.
“We should have recorded it,” Joonyoung adds, shaking his head.
The conversation continues to flow from one topic to another, the boys joking about teachers, soccer games, and the disaster that was the math pop quiz. Sullyoon stays silent for the most part, watching intently how they behave with each other, how they throw jokes at each other without any intention of hurting each other, how the laughter flows naturally. It’s a kind of environment she’s not used to. She answers when asked direct questions, but her answers are short, enough to participate without being the center of attention.
“What about you, Sully? Did you struggle with the math test too?” Daesu suddenly asks, turning his attention back to her.
The redhead blinks, feeling everyone’s gaze on her.
“Eh… it could have been a lot worse,” she says with a shrug. “Though I think I got several questions wrong.”
“That’s a lie,” Gyeongsu scoffs. “You’re the smartest person I know.”
Sullyoon looks at his best friend like he’s crazy.
“It’s not that I’m smart, it’s just that I study a little,” she replies, teasing her best friend slightly, returning the friendly nudge with his shoulder. Gyeongsu ruffles her hair to tease her for making fun of him.
Sullyoon laughs a little and tries to arrange her hair. For a few seconds, she forgets everything. That her sister died, that her mother became apathetic, that her father is an addict and is obsessed with finding something in Haewon's death. She forgets Hyeonju and Gwinam. She forgets her anxiety, she forgets that she has the Adderall pills and she just lets herself be.
“You got good grades in math?” Cheongsan asks casually.
She looks at him, perplexed. It’s the second time today that he speaks to her directly and she couldn’t be more proud of it. She’s never made so much progress, unfortunately, it hasn’t been the best day. She tenses up and receives a small tap on the leg from Gyeongsu. At that moment, she notices that she has gone silent, so she rushes to speak.
“Yeah,” she says simply, not knowing what else to add. “Well, something like that. I’ve never failed a test, tho.”
Her mother wouldn’t let her.
“Then you should sit with us next time we do homework,” Woojin says with a smile.
Sullyoon blinks in surprise and just nods slightly, noncommittal. The conversation continues without her having to say more, something she appreciates. Something inside her began to loosen, as if the knot of anxiety in her chest was slowly unraveling. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d smiled effortlessly. It was a simple thought, but it hit her hard. She allowed herself a small laugh when Daesu imitated one of the teachers with exaggeration. For a moment, just for a moment, she felt a part of something.
But when her eyes met Suhyeok’s again, the knot in her chest returned with a tug. He was still looking at her, and this time, Sullyoon couldn’t look away as quickly. As soon as their eyes meet, she remembers what he told her, feels the weight of the bottle of Adderall in her pocket and her father’s food in front of her. She looks away, but realizes that, for a moment, her day doesn’t seem so heavy anymore. She may not fit in with this group at all, but for now, it’s enough just to be here.
