(f reader x billie - warm afternoon with the talks of going away)

it was moments like this that made you feel the most comfort in your relationship with billie. a gentle hand on your back, the sounds of comedic characters on the TV, a soothing tea to go with the soothing feeling of each other… it was all, so perfect.

she was a superstar. traveling all across the world, seeing and exploring new places all the time. she had music to promote, interviews to do, fans to interact with. even though you were so fucking proud and stoked for her, you couldn’t help but wish it would stop, only for a second.

“when do you have to leave again?” you sheepishly asked, your arm finding a comfy spot on her chest. you nuzzled closer, you breath hitting her neck. “the flight’s at 9. ‘means i gotta leave at around 5 to run a couple of errands. then i’m going to the airport.” she explained, her voice smooth enough for you to ease into it. 

“aaaand what time is now?” you asked, your eyes shooting up to possibly catch a glance. “i have to leave in 20.” she said. you sighed in defeat, tugging at her sweatshirt. 

your eyes shut in the kind enviorment, “can’t we just stay like this?” you spoke. it was the simple sentences like this that made both of you want to break. a feeling of overwhelming emotion came over both of you, billie letting out a sigh and you shutting your eyes even tighter. her warm body radiated a comforting energy and heat, her perfume was the cherry on top. 

“i’m sorry, mamas. you know how it is. and you better know i’d chose you over this stupid promo any day if i had the chance.” she said, her hand going up to rest on yours. your eyelashes fluttered against her skin, and a small sob left your mouth, a tear running down your cheek to accompany it. “hey- no, it’s okay.” billie said, taking her gaze down to you as she gently held you tighter. “baby? i don’t want you to cry..” she called out your favorite pet name, her hand flying up to your chin lightly holding it.

you looking into her ocean blue’s, “if i cry enough will you stay?” you said, jokingly. a smile crept on her face. it was warm, and sweet. she placed a single kiss on your forehead, faces still close enough to hear your breathing. 

this almost felt like home. no, it was home. she was your home.

I think you've posted about Andrea Stella's relationships with Lando and Oscar before and I've been thinking about this and just needed to share my thoughts with someone.

when Oscar talks about his best weekends, its always Qatar where he felt like he really maximized his result and SIlverstone which he talks about as one of his most complete performances despite missing that podium.

When it comes to Japan and his first podium, it's like he's happy with the result and what that meant for the team, but it's not actually a weekend he reflects on super positively in terms of his race. I feel like he's never the one bringing it up, it's always like a reporter being like "and Japan?" and he's just like "yeah I guess that was nice too", but he doesn't really talk about it as a personal highlight (even though I'm sure he isn't like... upset over it, just not a performace he rates as his strongest).

all that to say I love that Andrea actually picks out his qualifying performace there as a highlight of his season, because it was! it just feels really subtlely supportive of him to bring up a moment that Oscar doesn't really talk about himself, and kind of got lost in all the comparisons or race pace between him and Lando.

truly this quote is the kind of thing I could see making Oscar feel emotional about and puff up with pride. it's the sort of meticulous score card that his big brained A-levels overachieving ass must eat up with a spoon:

"In terms of speed, in terms of capacity to learn very rapidly, in terms of collaborating with his engineers and extracting the information that he needs to grow so rapidly, in terms of his own awareness of where he is in the various stages to go from: ‘I know nothing about this track, first time in a Formula 1 car' to being P2 on the grid. And also the way he keeps himself calm, controlled – therefore always capitalising on his potential because he doesn’t create any unnecessary stress - that’s quite exceptional. And I can see why he was so successful in junior categories."

and god, the stern but loving dad role Andrea has taken with Lando and Oscar. especially when you think from Oscar's perspective how he was coming into a team fresh off of a dramatic court case and filling a seat that everyone - including Lando - was still deep in mourning over. from what I remember Oscar's "promo" by McLaren was more like something they'd do to announce a new reserve driver rather than Lando's new teammate. especially considering the weeks of emotionally overwrought posts and content about Daniel leaving. I'm guessing a lot of that had to do with trying to mitigate the comment sections turning rancid on any Oscar content (and I'm being generous saying that). but there was exceptionally low fanfare attending Oscar's arrival, especially considering him having such a scorching record coming up to F1.

so for someone like Andrea to come into his new role and choose to watch Oscar so closely when Oscar was honestly sort of - either ignored or still hated bc of Daniel and Alpine - during those races before Silverstone has come good in the huge revolution of public opinion about Oscar. Lando was already comfortably at home and only needed a little managing. side note I love how many times in challenges Lando would pretend to pout and say "Andrea said there has to be balance and fairness between teammates sooooo" akgfkasgs he had Lando's number already <3

but for all that Oscar has been a trooper about having to kind of operate without the kind of consistent found family that Lando has and dealt with the press and DTS dutch angle drama interviews in such a mature way idk. I feel like sometimes Oscar sees himself as only existing as one of the drivers once he's actually in the car. he's never found that footing of becoming one of the F1 personalities the way that even Logan has (thank you Williams and thank you Alex).

a lot of the time you could confuse Oscar's presence in the garage and the paddock with another engineer. and tbh when you consider how much of an online meme he was in F2 and F3 and how strong his twitter game was it definitely feels like he's intentionally suppressing his personality to maybe ? just get through his rookie F1 season with as little drama as possible. I've gone on and on and on abt how Prema Oscar would have made the perfect fan favorite dynamic with Lando the same way he was with Arthur or Robert. but Oscar's personality has only come out on camera a few times and otherwise he just watches Lando or stiffly gets through his own parts.

that's why I had to compile these instances of Andrea seeking Oscar out and being so incredibly tender with him. Lando is the always beloved child at McLaren and he absolutely earned that. but he was also definitely thrown by Oscar choosing to go so quiet and under the radar - I don't think in a bad way, but I will be interested to see the clips from DTS that haven't been chopped to hell so we can get a better glimpse of that.

but someone in higher authority than Lando needed to go out of their way to regularly remind Oscar that yes, he's One of The Big Boys and yes, McLaren is his home now. he has as much right as the rest of the drivers all feel to stand up and ask for what they want and speak for themselves and even cause a little trouble if they feel they need to. an F1 grid are always drama queens to some degree because they're basically the lead singers of a band. they had to as Lando rightly said "be fairly selfish" to get to their rarefied position. not that they're bad people at all, just that they have to treat themselves as of utmost importance in order to achieve the performance and mentality to even get a shot at F1. but not only is Oscar not naturally like that (his forms of self-care involve sleep and seeing friends lol) he certainly wasn't going to stir things up anymore than he already had.

but! what Oscar does have is incredible courage, unflappable calm and towering competitiveness. like I said once he gets in the car his focused self-belief overtakes everything else. the amount of times his rookie season it was down solely to the car or to other drivers that resulted in taking him out of a race or knocking him down the grid as opposed to pure rookie error or personal mistakes is amazing. and guess who said that back in August:

"For us being in this journey with Oscar, it makes it even more exciting, because it was very clear right from the start – the level of talent.

“Even the analytical behaviour, looking at things, trying to learn, and at the same time always remaining very calm. He is able to absorb things, execute things, always staying very calm, which I think is a strong point of Oscar.”

and guess who gives us some of the best insights to the kind of driver Oscar is when no one else can? (apart from sexy daddy Mark ofc)

“I think the quality which, if you want, maybe one of the key enablers [of] why he can grow so rapidly is just the man beyond the driver,” Stella told GP Blog. “He’s so calm. He’s so good at keeping himself in a status in which he can use the best of his talent.

“I don’t have that quality, I have to think very actively about ‘What am I thinking? What are my emotions?’ I have to think about my psychology to actively keep myself in the most productive state. For Oscar, this seems to come quite naturally. That’s the main enabler.

“I think he, potentially, has a natural gift. Or, maybe he worked throughout his young career through that. I don’t know. But, certainly, he’s remarkable. And even when I’ve seen great drivers currently or in the past, all of them sort of sometimes underperformed because they don’t stay in the status in which they give their best. oh and guess who also tells us the most about the fact that Lando has taken his role as established driver and leader seriously wrt Oscar and how well they've complemented each other?

“So Lando can say ‘ok, we can do this in this corner’, and so on. And likewise, obviously, for Oscar with Lando. The second element, which is remarkable this year, is how similar the comments are between the two drivers.

“And this is not only in the off-line debriefings, but it's also when the drivers come back after they run the first run during a session. They actually use the same terminology, like it looks like they are in communication before reporting their feedback.”

and I even love how Lando and Oscar both choose Silverstone without any hesitation as their favorite race of 2023 and that Lando said how much Oscar deserved to be up there with him. that's exactly what Andrea had instilled in them and shows his values have fully sunk in.

you're absolutely right anon, we should never forget that Andrea is the one who went to Oscar when Oscar needed it and that Andrea established the team culture that has let someone like Oscar thrive at the same time as someone so different from him like Lando.

Lady Tilley Arnold theory

spoilers alert I guess

The main point of my theory is: Lady Tilley Arnold was her own "deceased" husband.

I know I know, but listen to me, the Bridgerton's makers do everything on purpose, every little detail of the clothes, environment, decor etc. And I have a bunch of prooves for my theory.

I don't know if that's a trans situation or just her wanting to be in that particular social role, but let's go.

1. Ok, the thing I noticed the first. Her cleavage zone looks unsual for the show. Her dresses look a little bit different than everyone's else. Less showing. And even when the cleavage aloows to show some boobs, that part of the dress often seems to be a little bit empty (which contrasts with the usual Bridgerton "push-up the boobies as much as possible" style a lot). Like the dress looks like a right shape, but her chest looks flat.

2. Her room. It's dark colors. Green, brown. Do you know which rooms have the same color scheme in this show? Men's rooms. Anthony's cabinet, Colin's cabinet, Colin's bedroom, Lord Fetherington's cabinet and bedroom. Only the red curtains look a little bit too bright/a little bit off, like if someone added them without redecorating the whole room to just slightly change the mood.

3. "I was married. He died." she said. Not "My husband died" or "I'm a widow", but this interesting wording. Sounds a little bit odd and smooth to tell the truth not telling the truth. Like old me died, new me is here right now.

4. When Benedict meets her for the 2nd time, she's looking at the statue. Again, most things on this show are intentional and meaningful. And that scene took to long to be just random. She's looking at the statue, that looks like a Venus statue. And Venus is who? Feminity, all the woman things. If she was ment to be "not so feminine lady" that won't be a first thing to choose for her to stare at, u know. Then why is she looking at it? Because she's glad to be who she always felt she is. Just a suggetion. Or maybe it's connected to the Androgyny of Venus in some statues? Idk, I'm not a Greek mythology pro, but that seemed to be an interesting scene to me

5. "Well, then you have misjudged me. I am all for brute strength. In fact, I much prefer it to aimless talking" she says. Which is interesting too. And right after that their dance happens. And it feels to me that there happens a conversation without words between them. While they're dancing, at some point she takes the male role and leads the dance. Benedict looks condused at first, but accepts it and they dance like this. (all the females are to the right, all the males are to the left, except for them) Was it "an action" instead of "the words" to discuss something?

6. The music while they're dancing. I've seen some complains of the showrunners reusing the music from the season 2. People say like that was the family moment etc. etc. But I rewatched that scene from the 2nd season (during the Bridgerton+Shama ball when no one came and they danced with each other) and it was not about the family. It was about the harmony, the harmony with yourself and being whoever you feels right to be without looking at what is and what is not appropriate for the sosciety. Which suits Lady Tilley and Benedict's dance if my theory is correct pretty nicely.

7. During their making out scene in her bed, her chest is covered with the cloth. Bridgerton show is usually not too shy to show nudity and if they need to not show female body, they prefer to use pretty underwear, but not such trick as cloth. Interesting, that in a promo for the 2nd part of season 3 she's in the bed wearing the drak robe. Which is again not too Bridgerton-y or feminine.

8. While in her bed, Benedict is on the righ side of the bed and she is on the left one. I was rewatching the older season and noticed that every time they show the spouses' bed there's the husband who's on the left side of the bed (Violet Bridgerton, Mondrich, Bassets, Kate+Anthony). Why? Because that's originally her part of the bed since you know... my theory.

9. "You're MY solicitor" she says to a solicitor when Benedict visits her. Usually solicitor works with male only. In the Queen Charlotte spin-off show Lady Danbury even says that solicitor would probably refuse to talk to her, so she decided not to sign her name saying "Better he think I'm an impolite man". And you know what? At the same time there's a person who looks at the inheritance documents and search for the frauds. What if he has questions to her "husbans"'s will papers and now her solicitor has to provide her some better papers to convince the inspector. "I shall retern with things in order" he replies. She also asks Benedict if he came to "overcharge her as well", so she either has a lack of money or she has to pay her solicitor an overcharged sum. What if it's the silence fee?

10. Well, and their first interaction with Benedict was "My apologies, I thought you were a... - A man?". And that's her first line ever in the show is. You may say "C'mon, teal, she's just a lady with male interests", BUT! the only scene that points at it is this one. She's pretty feminine all the other times and everyone of the ton talks to her like she's a lady. No shade. No judjment (like when they speak about Eloise during previous seasons or Anthony joking on Kate being able to shoot). If that was the point there would be more than one moment/line pointing at that.

I hope you enjoyed my little theory. Anyway, the 2nd part of the season is just in a week from now and we'll find out if I'm right or wrong UwU

YES 1000%. I think it happened after amphibia when even though Anne & Marcy forgave her, she still felt nothing but guilt and emptiness from the sheer trauma going through amphibia + a whole ass war at the age of 13. I think it may have happened in high school because throughout the end of middle school she tried to stay strong for Anne & Marcy (because after all she does take it upon herself to be “the strong one” who doesn’t need any support or love), but after Marcy moved and Anne and her drifted apart, she struggled with the act of being “normal” and having to live life as a normal teenager after everything she’s been through. I think her body started failing her (because there’s literally no way she’s 100% physically unscathed after the injuries and damage she took in amphibia, not even mentioning things like fibromyalgia that develop because of emotional trauma). I also think it may have been the catalyst to her dedicating her life to psychology. She always wanted to help people like her post amphibia, but she never quite knew how to do it. But when she was in the hospital and maybe the psychiatric ward (California has really strict laws on inpatient treatment following a suicide attempt), she started to realize that maybe psychology was the way to go about her need to help people. I don’t think she would have gone to therapy on her own BUT I think going to therapy might have been a requirement for her release from the hospital (as it often is, esp in patients who are minors and esp patients with complex trauma and mood/personality disorders) and as she went to ordered therapy, she realized therapy really helped her and continued going after the hospital ordered time ran out. I think she continues to go to therapy throughout her adulthood (I’m split on whether or not she tells her therapist about amphibia because frogvasion WAS on the news BUT the Marcy journal implies that a few years after people generally think it was a hoax/movie stunt or promo gone wrong so idk if a therapist would take that seriously without sending her back to the mental hospital) but she definitely goes to therapy for her obvious attachment issues and mental illnesses and other traumas (such as her parents divorce and especially because her parents both got into new relationships and left her stranded and alone at a young age). I think she struggles with a long battle with mental illness both pre, during, and post amphibia aaaaand (you didn’t hear it from me because last time I talked about this I almost got canceled) I think there’s a very real possibility that at some point in her life she struggled with substance abuse/addiction or disordered eating/eating disorders due to her need for control, escapism (less than Marcy but it’s still there), self destructive behaviors, and general addictive personality and tendencies.

some fics i've liked lately

it's been a weird year. when i made this list of recs back in january i fully intended it to become a monthly thing, but life happened and then i guess it just kept happening. in early 2023 things were ramping up in my new career, i was practicing and playing a lot with my band to prepare for our first show, i was settling into dealing with depression and anxiety with medication, i was getting over a miserable breakup. then i fell in love. i lost my job (the best and most favourite job i've ever had) abruptly this past may. this is my longest period of unemployment since i was a teenager and while you think it would be the best time to lose yourself in fandom, i felt the opposite. fandom was such a lifeline to me when i had a miserable job and was in a bad relationship and needed an escape but i was very present in my own life this summer. i took my partner to visit my family and spent a lot of time with friends and played shows (and recorded some music... shameless self promo once again) and in between i watched so much star trek on my couch. this is such a long preamble to explain why i haven't been fandoming as much lately and why idk if i'll write anything again anytime soon (let's say, once i have a job i want to procrastinate at) but -- i HAVE been reading fic! not as much as before, but i have been, and there's enough for a fic rest list so that's what i'm giving you today. when times are dire [podfic] - @aibidil

this was recced by @whinlatter in @thethreebroomsticksfic discord (btw i feel like no one on my followers lists needs anyone to remind them to read beasts -- but please read beasts) and when i saw "gillian flynn treatment" in the tags i slammed the mark for later button. this is probably the most balanced and realistic portrayals of molly weasley and her role as a mother that i've ever read in hp fic. it's not weasley family fluff but it doesn't devolve into something so flat as bashing either. molly is regular mother with flaws and strengths like anyone else and how they amplify and shift with love and grief and pain and stress and duty and pressure. every single relationship she has with her children is uniquely expressed and the way it ties the past to the direct aftermath of the war is so well done and a great way to organize this giant, messy family. particular care here went into fred and george, giving them their own identities in a way that can be difficult, given the source material. a favourite line:

“Probably have tried to make us name the twins after them.” He stopped laughing, sucked in a breath. “Do you want to?”  For a second she considered it. It would be wonderful, getting to use those names again like living things. But -  “No,” she said. “I - if they were alive, I’d have said no, so I’m saying it now. another fic i've meant to read for ages and finally got around to just yesterday. the background drama of these side characters as a cheap scrunchie from boots floats around them is so perfectly teenage. reminds me of the other series i loved as a teenager around the time HP was coming out: georgia nicolson and gossip girl. i could also compare it to derry girls a little, how despite the environment surrounding them these girls are still being girls, arguing about stupid things and getting crushes on boys and having the absolute most ridiculous blowout fights with your sister (parvati and padma's portrayal here is probably my favourite i've ever read!)

i also can't leave without reccing @saintsenara's wip, one year in every ten. i can't get enough of a good case fic. tomarry/harrymort (both versions of this ship, oddly, apply to this fic) is not something i've ever sought out but i really think the way it's handled here could win over any non-believer. it's sharp and funny in a way that makes it turns into poignancy hit even harder. i screenshotted two full phone screen pages of chapter 27 so i could go back and read them over and over. it might be one of the best things i've ever read from ron's POV (emphasis mine):

It had been a long ten years, with a chair at their table always left empty and a hole in their hearts always unfilled. Grief was exhausting and boring and dully painful, like a slightly sprained ankle which you can still walk on, but which always bothers you a little bit.  But there had been love among the grief. There had been love before the grief - indeed love had caused the grief - and there had been love after. His love for his parents and his siblings had changed, the way wine left in a barrel changes and becomes richer and deeper. There was more sorrow in the love, as he threw a quaffle around with George and saw the tired lines at the corner of his eyes. 6x06 Thoughts

(these are my live thoughts as i was watching, with some later thoughts/clarifications added)

Tamara's moving out? Great [Listen, I like Tamara, but I think it's weird Tim and Lucy are always hanging out over there when she has a roommate] Although the timing is not great. Bet Lucy feels like everyone is leaving her Tim caved to Angela pretty quick Boo 😂 Angela doesn't even want to know why or how he lied? Ok they're sticking to the same story as last week Oh wait there's more? I love these BFFs together again It's like the last 2 seasons never happened 😂 Tim is bad at this 😂

The rest of Tim's story is even worse 😭 So why is he doing the same thing now that he did wrong back then? To protect himself? [i didn't love that the backstory was about how Tim ended up risking his squad to keep his job. perhaps that is just how he is telling it because he feels so guilty? idk. and it's one thing if he comes clean but...he doesn't. and he's doing the exact same thing this episode - not going through proper channels and putting people at risk to supposedly save his job?]

Ray cloned the gps and is going after Lucy?! Omg she deserves to be furious at him Done being the good girlfriend 🔥 [loved this scene - and I think it made sense, they know due to the job they won't always be able to tell each other everything but that doesn't mean they can't help each other] Woah they caught Ray super fast 😂 [I thought there would be more to this dock scene] Woah interesting editing skipping to him in the interrogation room Why is Tim lying?? I am veryyyyy confused I fear this has ruined Tim's character for me [ok i still love tim but it was not clear to me why he lied and why he didn't try to right his wrongs - both in the past and present]

We got a hug But where is the apologyyyy Okay so he lied to protect her and Lopez - and his job - and she's ok with it?? Did she make him lie? And now he's the one mad at her? This makes no sense And now HE'S breaking up with HER?? Oh! He did say I'm sorry 🙃 Is this because he doesn't believe he's good enough for her or he blames her for why he had to lie? Ohh she's not taking this from him, good for her Of course this is happening in the parking lot 😂😭

Okay so without the rest of the context of the new Tim backstory and how we got to this breakup, I actually really like the last scene and am excited for what comes next. I guess I kind of wish they had done something like this before they even got together - Olicity S3 parallel, anyone? - because these issues existed for Tim even before now.

Also I think it would have been helpful if they didn't just skip to Tim lying, and they would have explained the plan/why he was doing this/what had been agreed upon between him, Angela and Lucy. Because until she said it I didn't think she would agree with that plan and I still don't really understand why Tim wouldn't come clean - except if it's to protect Lucy (and Angela).

And at first I was thinking what Lucy said - so you lie to me to protect me and then you break up with me because you had to lie? that's messed up - but I don't think that's why he actually broke up with her. He broke up with her because he's feeling really guilty and he doesn't feel like he's good enough for her.

And the 'I know, I know' (remember when we held on to each 'I know' we got?) - he knows he's wrong and he's hurting her so that gives me some hope. So basically I have some empathy for Tim here and understand why he felt he had to break up with her but I still think he should have come clean. And I feel for Lucy too of course, she's just had thing after thing be piled onto her.

The promo for next ep is crazy. I'm excited to see Tim do some self reflection and healing. But this is going to be the third Tim heavy episode in a row. So when are we getting our Lucy arc?? Unless they're trying to make her even more alone for hers? And either Melissa is really good not giving out spoilers, or else they're really not going to resolve a bunch of stuff this season that we thought they would... :( Look I'm still processing this all but bottom line, I'm not mad about the breakup. Those scenes were super emotional and good and it just means we get another "getting together"/makeup scene down the line. And I would say this has significantly raised our chances of getting another sex scene! 😏

Game design thoughts- Superliminal

I’ve decided, for shits and giggles and bettering my analysis skills, that I’ll write and post some thought about the game design of games I’m playing for the first time. Not a rating or anything, just a sort of what I learned from it

I just finished Superliminal on the Xbox. Only took around 2 hours for a solid first playthrough. Made in Unity, released 2019.

The main mechanics were around perspective. Unfortunately, this playthrough wasn’t completely blind, because there was a gif set or promo trailer floating around Tumblr a couple years ago, and it showed the mechanics before I got a chance to figure them out myself. But, the premise is picking up objects, and their size depends on the actual perspective when you drop it.

I think those mechanics are pretty fucking cool. I would love to see how the idea was originally prototyped. Or how they came up with the idea. Honestly tomorrow morning I might look into if the creators have done any interviews or anything.

The tutorial was pretty sick though. Instead of ui elements floating and telling you what to do, everything was written on objects in the game. My favorite was “press a to jump” being on a wet floor sign.

Narratively, it did make me ponder about brute forcing puzzles, and trying the same thing over and over. There was one puzzle I was stuck on near the end that I only decided to change perspectives on after I noticed the classic game trick of teleporting the player to create a feeling of infinite looping. While I didn’t walk away fundamentally changed, I did gain a new perspective on how I do puzzles.

The juice was pretty good, too. It got me giddy to pull every fire alarm and use up every fire extinguisher just because the option was there. There might also be achievements for doing that each level? Idk. Superliminal also had some good (although a little too loud) controller shake when an object was made huge and dropped on the ground. There was text I couldn’t read on papers that I wanted to read. The loading screens were great too, and while the bar animations weren’t accurate, the variation and weirdness for each one made up for it.

The limitations, unfortunately, were a touch obvious. The edges of light could shine through objects in a way that initiated something was up. Too many objects bumping around (which didn’t happen often) made a god awful sound. Screen hiccups happened a lot. Honestly, all of it was bearable, but the first one in particular just made me think about how light does that and it pisses me off as a developer that I can’t control it.

Other thoughts:

The walking around and setting felt very reminiscent of The Stanley Parable, especially in the repeated opening segments.

Music cutoffs were well placed and heavily affected the tone.

Late game played heavily with dream with dream sensation, and so perfectly emulated the dream feeling of looking at everything right side up while it feels like you’re laying down.

Played with the medium. I mentioned earlier that it used teleportation for infinite hallway tricks, but at some point it just started teleporting you for the purpose of being jarring.

On a similar note, it loved to play with the first person camera. It knew that you couldn’t look behind you, so it had complete free range to silently change whatever you weren’t looking at. Then when everything was breaking down, it started fucking with you and changing things as you looked at them, so you only saw the change once you moved

There was one level intended to be eerie, and it did that so well it made me google “is Superliminal scary.” The answer is no. I’m just a bit of a paranoid fraidy cat. It ended with a joke so good I instantly forgave it for making me scared.

The humor was also pretty good. It’s a good reminder that games can bet serious AND a little bit silly with it.

The piano music was superb

The options menu was simple and bland. It didn’t need to be anything else. Everything it had could simple fall under “gameplay” or “audio” settings.

Conformed to the wonderful idea that text to speech voices are evil. Fuck tik tok.

Overall, it was a sick game! I might do a couple more replays tomorrow. Or I’ll move to something else.

Guild to ask blogs/RPs!

Idk, I felt like I wanna make this for the shake of it for anyone who is new to ask blogs and RPs, those are from my own experiences from doing RPs for 11-12 years and ask blogs for 7-8 years. They may not be perfect since I myself still learning and have my errors but hey! We are all humans no?

When making a blog you have to actually interact with ppl yourself! Not waiting for someone to notice you. I made that mistake a lot more then I like to admit so my advice is to make a promo post and then make yourself known one way or another, for me I joined a discord server where other bloggers are also there!

Try to write down some mini stories or make some events here and there to make your blog more fun and interactive if you want :3

Try to reblog one of those ask games post to break the ice!

Do not think too much about the followers or likes in your blog, we all want attention yes but it would come in time so try to just have fun then focus on how many ppl are following you

Try to make friends with other blogs! It always more fun to have friends and rp with them then stranger, make rp more meaningful in a way

Set up some rules in your blog to avoid unwanted troubles

Pls do not try to take advantage of a popular blog to get yourself to be famous too. Sure you can try to interact with them here and there to just make the ppl know you exist but to only befriend or simply interact a lot with that blog just so you can be famous and not actually think about how the blog itself has a person behind it is just sad… it happens a lot where ppl just interact with a blog just so they can be famous and nothing more so hope you understand what I mean since I am bad at explaining-

OP characters:- look i genuinely do not mind characters being op if that their whole idea but if it got out of hands that it started to effect how you rp with others maybe you should either tone it down or just find different ways to rp with said character. I understand you don’t want your character to be weak but it doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be ever a more powerful character then them in some aspects so do not be that one person who just want to proof a point about how Powerful their character is, it would just ruin the fun and make the rp so dull so allow your characters to have weaknesses and is okay if they failed at times

Do not force your own OCs into other people’s OCs such as ships or lore or whatever without talking to the creator first, that simply rude and I do not think I need to explain why :/

Do not take it personally if someone refuse to rp with you at times, maybe the concept of the rp make them uncomfortable or some other reason or simply they just don’t feel like it.

When you want to make a rp that can be a huge deal first talk to the creator you gonna rp with and tell them about your idea and see if they agree to it or not.

Do not spam too much rp/asks around all the blogs just to make yourself known, I know I said you should interact with ppl but be civil about it and calm.

Try to make your OCs 3 dimensional and not just 1 dimensional. Now that something i myself struggle with, is hard to make your character not too dull or just simply known for one thing such as only being known as “the too happy” or “the too cold” or whatever but is best to try and make them have more personality then just focus on one aspect about them and make it their whole personality alone.

You do not own another person OC! Idk why I need to even mention that but I saw many ppl in my old blogs somehow just thing just cuz their own oc either ship or simply has some kind of connection to another person oc it automatically make them have rights to the other’s ocs and even in a way also own it so any changes or new ships is a big no no unless they allow it

Too much angst, that is something I am also guilty of a lot of times too but as much as we all love angst having it 24/7 and even while rp can be so suffocating and dull so try to make things brighter here and there and the same can be said of other themes sooo yeah!

Do not judge other blogs by simply how many followers they has, their art, their OCs or overall everything else. Everyone start somewhere!

Thai is not really a big advice or anything but I just wanna mention something I noticed ppl sometimes worry about and that is the times where blogs are so calm or silent for awhile then how it used to and I just wanna say that is okay! Ppl have their own lives or they simply burned out and need a break to focus on themselves, so do not worry about it too much, they would come back at times if they wanted to :3

Depends on the themes that ya blog gonna have make sure to mention about the ages that allowed to see ya blog cuz I did see blogs that for 18+ but minors interacting with it.

And finally, support other blogs from small to big!

and yeah the more I think about it the less I want like jealous Eddie & more confused Eddie? Like he looks so happy every time Buck & Tommy are like getting along so I'd love for him to be happy about it but maybe feel a little off? Like about Buck/Tommy dating. Like he's happy for them bc his new friend & best friend are dating & they're both so great & he gets to keep hanging out with them individually but together he's like ??? But thinking about it I don't think he'd get jealous I think he'd double down on being supportive?? Like he's so happy for Buck exploring this new part of himself & with someone like Tommy who's cool & nice & someone Eddie trusts and Tommy is dating Buck who Eddie loves so much so it's like of course he's happy for him too? So he tries to make sure he's not getting in the way of it & being supportive with both of them.

But! Tommy seemed happy to also see Eddie in the promo so I'm hoping since he also was like "yeah we are good as friends & it's okay for him to have more than one" that Tommy will continue to initiate/hang out with him. I hope if Buck is weird about the date it's just like panicking bc he wasn't maybe ready to tell Eddie? (Bc it's scary & new & his Eddie feelings are tied up in it even if he isn't aware of that but also!!! Buck feeling guilty bc he was all weird about their friendship & now is dating Tommy & like idk I kinda want him to panic like "I'm not trying to steal your new friend! I know I was a dick about it but I really like kissing him & want to keep doing so!" or something? Idk lol bc now it's like "well how do I explain this to Eddie after doing all of that??" it's kinda embarrassing like he's gonna go to Maddie & say "yeah so remember when I was all mad about Tommy? I'm hopeful that going forward we'll leave the jealousy tension with Tommy behind bc I think you're right it would be boring and honestly Eddie seems like he'd be so happy but also again feel Weird but when he sees like Buck being all adorable & flustered & happy when Tommy does something cute or romantic & he's not mad or upset, he's just like idk kinda how with Ana things felt Weird but it took him a bit to figure out why bc he liked her well enough & she was beautiful & Chris loved her so like he was like why am I not happier about this? Why do I get a weird flutter in my chest or tightness in my stomach when Buck looks at Tommy like that? and just responds by like being extra supportive (and eventually having to talk to someone like "why do I feel weird about this? am I a bad friend? am I homophobic?" and it's like no you're sad bc you want to be kissing Buck!!!) so idk maybe it's too close to the jealousy but yeah I don't want it to create tension in that way. Also I'd love him to be able to talk to Tommy about it? Okay, I will talk about it all but the idea of buddie having Buck's ex in the wedding party made me cackle oasokasasokasokas we love to paint Eddie as possessive but this would be so funny lolololol

Okay, I think Eddie will be aggressively supportive, like, overcompensating levels of supportive, buying bi flags for Buck supportive, especially with the whole Buck feeling left out thing, I think he would go intense about it, and not even fully realize it seems like he's compensating for something. But the thing here really is how they'll deal with Tommy and Eddie with it all, because Eddie like Tommy, so I don't see him reacting all that extremely the way he did with Taylor for instance, but at the same time, I kinda want Eddie to do a double take every time he sees Buck and Tommy together. But you can't really play the jealousy angle while Buck and Tommy are still together, because the switch would be weird. So, really, I have no idea how to play this situation, buddie do need to talk about Tommy in the middle of them, but how does Tommy actually fit in the middle here?

I don’t believe that the recent article was targeted at us, his fans. We know every detail about him. To me, this felt like it’s an effort to fine-tune their pitch for a larger audience. The emphasis was on his songwriting, which I believe he’s most proud of. Also, talking about a long-term strategic approach is also important because of his long-term objective of potentially his own management company, and/or record company.

There was no need to list out his every accomplishment. Three key takeaways for a general audience, music insiders, and industry was to convey he’s a talented songwriter, thinks long-term and it’s very ok to like him. If it works or where it goes from here, I have no clue. But this is not an a random article.

My guess is we get one more 28 drop this year, then early next year he will release his 1st single off his new album. With his newfound confidence, I think we will see a greater push to market him to a broader audience and focus on increasing his streaming numbers. I know we are always the first to criticize team for being incompetent and only relying on us, but we should keep the possibility open that Louis himself wasn’t confident enough to be pushed out into the general market.

I don't really agree. I think we're getting way ahead of ourselves thinking about the strategy for promo and rebranding his team might be doing just from one article. The article was nice enough as in it didn't paint Louis in a bad light and praised his songwriting but i don't agree with some points and it did lack some accuracy and blazed through many of his achievements (his live streams and the Guinness record, aotv, the arenas and stadiums he played..). I maybe a bit biased bc it is hard to encapsulate Louis' career and what happened through the years to the outsider without hinting at the blacklisting (which i don't expect Billboard to aknowledge ofc) but idk it's not hard to check out some facts 🤷‍♀️. Anyway, it was ok overall and we'll see with time what happens. What I strongly disagree with though is that Louis wasn't confident enough to be pushed to the gp. Louis wanted (s) commercial success and a breakthrough to the gp. I know that it seems like he's given up on that now and is content with what he has but i can't say it's bc of his lack of confidence, more like he wants total control especially creatively and he believes the way things are now is the only way. Can't say he didn't try either. He changed labels under Sony multiple times and they f*cked him over everytime, his album was pushed back 2-3 years and when it was finally released it got no promo (i will never forget the way he kept answering that the dominant emotion prior and during walls' release was: relief), he did the useless radio interviews, did the live performances (no matter how nervous he was). Remmember when he was asked in Zach Sang's fitf interview about those streaming parties in the middle of nowhere and he answered that it was great to meet the fans but also his label (BMG 😵‍💫) told him to. Louis may have confidence issues, he may sing too many covers in his set and his stubborn loyalty towards 1D have done him way more harm than good throughout the years, he is in fact keeping a team that isn't doing him any good but i think it's not fair to assume he'd choose to be confined to the fandom spaces given an honest chance to breakthrough the gp only bc he was vocal about his confidence issues

Magnum PI 5.12 - Three Bridges review

Little bit late this week because I had trouble finding the ep and well this new mid-week airing time, it's at a pretty inconvenient time of the week for me.

Anyways...

The promo for this episode was misleading as (when is it not) but in this case it was a really good misleading. We did get funny sting-ray case but that was just a side plot for laughs.

And for me it worked so well because it gave us more Miggy scenes and man, do I love how they're doing Magnum and Higgins as a couple now. It's established, comfortable but still sweet with that hint of sexy they always had and IDK, why can't we just have 10 seasons more of this?

The Case

Seems like a semi-straightforward "trusted the wrong person and got my money stolen" case. But this being Magnum PI, there is of course a huge trafficking ring behind it and the bad guy is actually a good guy and everyone (except for the Triad) gets a happy ending. (Brushing over the trauma of trafficking and being used as a human sheild at and also sort of betrayal of trust and stealing lots of money from people, and all that jazz. Because goodness will win out and happiness reign supreme -that's just how we roll in Magnum PI land.)

I liked it, even if finding the hotel (which granted took the combined power of Kumu and Higgy) and then just getting walked straight into the heart of the Evil Overlords organization was a bit convenient. Like if I was a boss bad-guy I would have just told my underlings to walk potential spies and cops and other interested parties off the property. And then just moved my operation.

Just saying, a bit sloppy for a 97-million-dollar operation...

The end bit with findning Haun (Han?) after he'd been sold off again, maybe that should have ended sadder or more dramatic. Like Haun could at least have gotten shot in the arm or something... just a little suggestion.

Or Higgy should have gotten shot because she was just walking straight into the path of this guy's bullets...

The Miggy

Side note: does someone on this show have like a drowning kink? I feel like waterboarding is the to-go torture method of choice for all bad guys. I mean Nuzo was water-boarded before he died, Higgy was, then she almost drowned and now we got TM getting all drown-y.

And love the look Magnum gives the guy when the bad guy is all "This ain't gonna work - go get his friend". Like from mildly smug (above) because hey, Mr. Navy Seal "I can hold my breath for five minutes" isn't worried about anything to 'not amused' in like a second.

(I mean of course Higgy being all kick-ass going to get her Hubby, also lovely.)

TC - Sometimes you just need your mom

So TC pushing everyone away after last week when he seemed to be opening up and doing a bit better with Shammy and Kumu felt like a step back, but also very real. Because rehab and progress is not linear nor does it "make sense" for most people in a logical way.

Mommy-TC showing up and both showing him that she not leaving because she loves him and wants to be there for him and talking to him about weakness and stubbornness, was the right play. Because when life sucks sometimes you just need your mom right?

It's also a nice call back to last "season" which they've been so good at during season 5. Like with Higgy and the Mandarin and just little references to stuff (still waiting on the tattoo though...)

Rick and Love

So I guess Piper was only in the picture to push Rick and Suzy together then? Maybe? I kind of hope she sticks around and has some other nefarious purpose. But if she's not in the next episode or 14, I guess she was just there to get the Suzy/Rick ship to sail.

Which, I mean, we did all want that and it is sooo very cute and I'd want to see happy-family feels! Let Suzy or Rick have a birthday and we can end with a surprise party or something this season (and bring a real baby this time).

Overall + I'm on a break next week

I enjoyed this episode so much, possibly a bit more than last week's ep even, and I'm a bit annoyed with myself it took me like 4 days until I could watch it. I guess, part of why I postponing watching is because each week means one episode closer to the last one. Urg, why did they end our show!!! It's such a freaking shame because it absolutely feels like they've found their groove with the Miggy relationship and just the whole vibe of 5a and so far 5b!

Next week I'll be traveling so I might not be able to get access to the episode at all before I return home, which sucks because it's my favorite plot-device: my faves going undercover.

But yeah, 13+14 might end up being a double episode for me (+ double review!) in two weeks but we shall see!

Based on the promo and knowing this will be a 10 episode season, what I hope to see in season 7 is:

Maddie and Chimney to have a solid story, if possible, separately and together. With limited screen time, I'll take either option, but it needs to be solid and no more dumb non-communication nonsense.

Athena to have a story. I'm so serious. The s6 story of her dad in an accident was one episode and there was nothing lasting about that. The super dark episode was more meaningful for a side character of the story than it was, I feel, for Athena. So.

Bobby to have a impactful and not out of the blue story. The cruise ship, which will probably include him and Athena, will hopefully have a lasting impact on Bobby rather than him getting over it almost instantly, ya know?

Eddie to have a solid storyline. The Chris thing lasted maybe one episode in s6, and that was kinda it. The dating thing was, for me at least, handled poorly. Eddie generally felt like an afterthought in s6.

Buck needs to take a massive backseat. For me much of his stories and screen time, which was a lot, in s6 was handled poorly. He had his chance. Whatever story (or stories) he has, at minimum I'm kinda begging for Buck to actually learn something and move forward. The writers keep making Buck go in circles about things, which isn't great or interesting when we're six seasons into a show that will last who knows how long.

Idk I just need more Karen and Hen. <3

No more new cast members!!!! Season 5 and 6 really showed the strain of having a big cast.

I know this all is coming across as salty, and it partly is, but at the same time I just want better for everyone. I am looking forward to season 7, and I just want this show to live to its fullest potential.
