okay i was joking, but now im high key low key invested in the idea of trying to write a good flash "show" but because i animate like someone paid $2 and i dont like scripts, it would be more of a novelization thing.

I would take all the rogues and make them follow their rules and give them a few extra for fun.

the main through line would be flash figuring out his powers and chatting with his villains and then he slowly starts to interact with other heroes, perhaps he becomes besties with vigilante and some other lesser used heroes and deals with their villains.

He meets bats and a few of the other classic justice league starters. and he has a delightfully close relationship with Captain Marvel for fun.

and when a villain from another city knocks him out the rogues go nuts. Flash is not sure this is a one-off, but then aliens a bit later. the aleins are a justice league forming catalyst but also he figures out that the rogues will always look after his town when the world is at stake.

idk i just want something with tons of fluff and down time "filler" "character growth" and no relationship drama. him and Iris West are good. maybe a few rough bits but they are going strong and Iris is amazing.

and maybe showing more of barrys day job and how he avoids flash cases like the plague, even going as far as his colleagues assuming he hates flash and whispers that he needs to be kept away from the evidence due to his "burning hatred" for flash. which they all think is weird cause both flash and barry are so friendly.

(sorry im just thinking about some of my cw gripes again. some of it was good!! some of it was so bad....)

"Let the tides carry you back to me." has always been among one of my favourite lines in Telomeres, and so, having listened to it again recently, a little idea popped into my head. Let me explain:

While ocean tides/currents is a very common metaphor, there's an underlying meaning to it. The ocean is a beautiful, but somewhat cruel place: tides can leave you stranded on a sandbank, or sweap you away before you even know it.

To put it in short, no object or creature that goes into the ocean comes out the same. For the tides to carry something back to you, something you've lost, it will be and always will be changed: eroded.

The cliffside will fall, the cave will crumble, etc etc.

With this in mind, we're yet again greeted with another example of Vessel asking for something he can't truly have. The person he wants will not be the same as they were before; they "collapse" into him, breaking apart, but still, to him, it's "the start of something."

His memory is warped, they are warped, and it'll stay that way.

However, what I would like to add is that, in DYWTYLM, it's theorised that instead of Vessel speaking to a second person, he's instead talking to himself.

Of course, this makes the song itself much more emotional (to me). Finding love for yourself is one of the hardest things you can do, but it has to be done to find love in others.

With that idea (stay with me here), the lyrics "Do you roll with the waves? Or do you duck into deep blue safety?" match up (generally) with Telomeres, which is mostly interpretated as being towards someone else.

So, what if some lines in Telemores are directed to himself as well?

Keep in mind, the tides don't just erode and carry objects (sediment), they also reflect. The Atlantic is one big mirror, and Vessel is staring into it's "deep blue safety" wondering what, or, rather, who, he was before he was Vessel.

Overall, the album name, "This Place Will Become Your Tomb", either being directed at Vessel or Vessel to Sleep (and being a Halo quote lmao), is more metaphorical than literal.

Who he was before Vessel sits in that coffin, not his physical body.

For those who don't know, you can swap game logos in your steam library with custom ones by right clicking the steam banner and clicking "Set Custom Logo". As far as I know Steam accepts both .png and .jpeg formats (there's ways to get gifs to work as well, but that gets a bit technical so it might be best to look at a guide for that)

along with that you can also adjust the position of the logo as well as set custom backgrounds!

there’s a question to be asked i think about to what extent “getting out” can be conflated with “being saved” in this show, and what freedom actually means to any of these characters.

like you can argue that shiv saved ken by voting against him on gojo, but what if your intent behind saving someone is to inflict a worse punishment than if you’d just left them trapped? can a child weaned on poison survive on milk, or are you just sentencing them to a death by inches, starved of the only thing they know? and if you save someone specifically because you know that being saved is the worst thing that can happen to them, is that kindness or cruelty? at what point does a good thing become a malicious act?

and you can say that roman is finally free, but what exactly is he free from? the company? his father? does unlocking a cage mean saving a dog, or are you allowing him out on the street knowing there’s a kill shelter nearby? if the driving anxiety behind roman is that he’s an idiot and a failure—that he’ll never amount to anything, and trying will only lead to pain—and he’s finally cut loose once all of those anxieties have crystallized into cold hard fact in his mind, what has he actually escaped from? if the cage is in your mind, is it even possible for somebody else to unlock it?

the fundamental truth of a tragedy is that even being saved can be a death sentence, if the characters are incapable of escaping the thing doing them the most harm (themselves and their childhoods)

Stormwings, a subtribe that lives semi-independently to Skywings.

They live in iron rich areas but tend to migrate towards higher altitudes after certain periods of time.

They have special organs and scales that allow them to both conduct and store electricity, and to also redirect it. But they also have the tendency to coat their scales with layers of iron in order to better conduct electricity. Typically, it is either done alone or with close family or lovers.

They do contain a lot of Skywing traits, as they are a subspecies, not an entirely different species. But they tend to be far darker in color than Skywings, and are much more heavily scaled. The beak remains but is reinforced.

Just an old veteran from the Great Sandwing Succession. After the war he works as the Subtribe's Queen's personal advisor.
