sevika x oblivious!reader ♡ PART 1 [feel free to send requests, asks etc! i respond to everything :) + i defo need to make a badass reader x sevika to make up 4 this
PART 2 HERE
masterlist here
• How could you have possibly made it this far all by your lonesome in the undercity?? Almost oblivious to anyones advances, threats etc. Your last minute judgement has to have come in clutch many times.
• Having said that; obviously sevika is going to raise an eyebrow as you walk past her,
• She sat in her booth, playing a game of poker with two conspicuous-looking men (to say the least.) A cigarillo hung from her thick lips and smoke puffed out of her nose as she glanced up.
• A man follows you (cocky fella) spewing nonsense about how he so badly wanted to get to know you and how "you should come grab a drink with me, all on my tab sweetheart."
• She shook her head; this didn't snag her attention, as the man was a regular, always harassing the prettiest woman he could find at the bar. What did snag her attention was your response.
• "Oh...sure! Why not ?" You laughed, undoubtedly carefree and unaware of the man's advances. Now this THIS is what made her lips curl downward into a sneer.
• How could someone be so stupid. Seriously. What part about this guy didnt scream "creep." Were there not flashing red lights going off in your head telling you to turn the other way and make a run for it?
•Although this wasnt normally the kind of thing she bothered to pay attention to she continued to keep an eye on you as you walked toward the bar with him.
• However, the game of cards draws her attention away from the two of you. The man to her right groans at her card selection before shuffling through his.
• This was going to be another easy cash night huh. She thought, her eyes wandering back to where you sat. The man next to you now a bit too close for comfort.
• "I dont see you 'round here often missy" The man drawls, smirking at you. His fingers traced the rim of your glass slowly, barely missing your fingertips.
• "Yeah im...im not around here often.. tonight jus- " You were cut off by his hand on yours.
• "A pretty lady shouldnt be out at night all by 'er self, who knows what might snag 'er up, yeah?" His grip on yours was just a bit too tight.
• "Thats true..I was going to head home soon anyways. Thank you for your concern." You half smiled at him, now feeling the uncomfortable tension between you.
• The man took your smile as a green light to do whatever the fuck he wants and he leans in closer to your face. Before he can even bring his lips within the radius of your face the slam of metal separates you two.
• A mechanical device whirrs between you, parts clanking and activating: acting as a barrier. Your drink spills onto the floor, just narrowly missing your leg.
• You look up to see the weilder of said device glaring straight foward, not looking at either of you. Although her lips settle into a tight line; disdain etched into her (quite stunning) features. You could feel the heat of her body just inches away from yours.
• "Um...were we in your way-" You are cut off by her unexpectedly deep angry tone.
• "Lance, get the fuck out of here." She spat, now turning her head to look at him. Ah so thats his name.
• Her body was turned to face yours, her large frame mostly blocked your view from Lance, but it was pretty obvious he up and left without a word of retaliation.
• You eyed her questioningly scanning her lean (buff) frame.
• "You dont know a man thats trying to get in your pants when you see one?" She spoke firmly, turning her head to you.
• "I dont think he was.." You recalled all the events in the past five minutes and sighed internally "Mmfuck"
• Sevika took a draw of her cigar, watching you piece everything together, "So you really are stupid? I thought you were playing dumb." She scoffed.
• She couldnt lie, you were beautiful, its a shame that all the men in the bar have probably eyed you atleast once since you walked in. This thought made her lips twitch downward.
• "Bartender," Her voice booms "Get her another whiskey."
• Sevika ordering for a woman?? Absolutely unheard of. She means buisness. The bartender quickly grabs your drink offering a smile (that looked more out of fear than anything else) to Sevika.
• All the regulars know she only comes to the bar to either: A) Gamble B) Drink or C) beat someones ass. And despite her rough demeanor her actions were uncharacteristically...nice?
• "Thank you," You smiled up at her "I need to get better at that kind of thing"
• She slid into the barstool next to yours, where Lance had previously sat. "Is this your first time in the undercity? If not im suprised you havent been killed yet"
• Her question went unanswered as you watched the spread of her legs when she sat down, she has thick; definitely toned thighs. You swear you can see the muscle even with her pants on. Your eyes travel upward to look at her ever so slightly visible abs-
• "Hey, do you have nothing going on up there?" She sneered at you, now getting up from her stool. She was quickly irritated.
• "Im sorry, but you're gorgeous. Whats your name?" You ask, catching her gaze as she stood.
• She makes an incredulous expression for a second before going stone faced again "Be careful with what you say to strangers"
• Your drink arrives and she nods her head towards it before walking away, not leaving any room for you to thank her.
• Right as you're about to stare at her confident walk back to her booth a voice interrupted your thoughts, "Thats Sevika, Silcos second hand man." The bartender spoke.
• He knew you werent new, you had been coming for several years, but only casually. The only reason you stook out to him was because of you're genuine kindness when you spoke to him, not demeaning or demanding drinks.
• In return he usually warded off the men and women trying to snag you up and take you home.
• At his words you turned to look at her, but she was already staring back at you. Her gaze dark and almost hungry. You shivered at that, breaking eyecontact first.
• You didn't feel like drinking any longer, aching for the warmth of your home. You took a sip of whiskey and waved at the bartender before hopping off your stool to start towards the exit.
• You passed Sevikas booth on your way out, the men at her table eyed you and one wolf whistled loudly.
• Sevikas eye twitched as she waited for you to exit the vicinity. She made note of the bell ring when you opened and closed the door to the bar.
• She wasted absolutely no time to jump on the man who wolf whistled, grabbing him by the collar and delivering an unforgiving punch to his face with her mechanical arm.
You definitely would be meeting again.

why you shouldn't use curseforge at all
simfileshare folders with reuploaded content below - hit [ctrl + f] and type the creator you’re looking for ↓
CC
Mods
Save Files
feel free to request stuff!
you can find lms replacement lists under #mods
🍉 free palestine 🍉
help any of these families if you're able to! daily click
↓ some important info below ↓ (updated may 5th)
about this account
this account is ran by only one person, i can't keep track of every single creator that is curse forge exclusive, that has shared new stuff or has updated a mod. always feel free to send me an ask about any of these things and i will update/add folders as soon as i can. it doesn't bother me i promise! do check the simfileshare links above first please
as a reminder, i am only sharing sims 4 curseforge exclusive content. paywalled/early access content or stuff from thesimsresource are not being shared here. i recommend checking out ts4rebels or dollhouse mafia for those! and if a creator offers an alternative download (sfs, patreon, google drive, etc) please use those, no need to reupload them.
about downloading mods
mods (not cc) get updated often, especially after game updates. if you're looking for a mod please check the creator's socials first to see when was the last update. after that, check this date on simfileshare:
if the mod was last updated before this, then the mod is up to date. if it was updated after that, then shoot me an ask reminding me to update it!!
beware of hidden curseforge links
some creators have been hiding curseforge downloads in their patreon posts. if you're getting something from patreon it should be a direct download in patreon itself, you can find the files at the bottom of each post with the file's name, like this:
if a creator is not doing this but instead having a "download" link that quickly opens a new tab and closes immediately, this is most likely to be a curseforge redirect. to avoid this, you can right click the download link and click "copy link". then paste this somewhere, if you see either "curseforge" or "forgecdn", this means it is redirecting you to curseforge without any warning. you can let me know if you find something like this so i can reupload this content to sfs.
thank you for reading and for all your patience :)
remember your daily click! 🍉

day 16: bruce wayne [power play]
࿓ synopsis • the game you play takes a different route in which you try to dominate him, but, he doesn’t allow you.
―❦ nsfw, dominance/submission, roughness, licking, marking, wrist holding, short, f!reader, brat!reader, riding, begging, pet names, ‘is all I guess? • 0.7k • he's my favorite dc character and the idea popped into my mind because he's looking so dom! enjoy! [kinktober m.]
“who’s in control now, love?” he asks as he pounds into you, hands holding yours above your head as your back arches onto his bare chest, filthy voices leaving you one by one since it’s too much to keep silent – he’s trying to gain it from you after all, wanting to make you scream his name louder with each of his deep, hungry thrusts that hit the exact spot that drives you crazy in every time.
the question is a reference to what you said before being in this situation; leaning down on the mattress, wrists inside his palms, breasts bouncing shamelessly and even hitting his chest from time to time, legs wide open, pussy soaking wet enough to make the white color of the sheets goes grey because of how much it is, legs shaking yet still having the strength to stay on his back, hugging him from there only to bring his body closer to yours as if it’s possible – as if he’s not already deep buried inside you, fucking you roughly because he has something to prove to you – to dig it into your pathetic mind as he said before.
he’s angry – a little bit, with the lust that flows inside his veins until it reaches the tip of his thick cock – using it to shove it into you mercilessly.
the feelings are there due to you – being a little brat and trying to take control while riding him a while ago, teasing about how his dick dripping, pale face is full of redness, breathtaking with a rapid way, and even sweating – only you can make the vigilante sweat like this – the reasons why he is rough now.
with the power you had at that moment, your body moved without your mind acknowledging it, making you look down at him, taking control, riding him so slowly to make him beg for you to move, to fuck him, yet, bruce who knows you better than anyone else, including you, understood what you were trying to do, especially when your hand tried to hold his neck – with sudden movement, he gripped your wrists, turning your body over, hovering above you as he mocked you – showing the dominance he has on you – not yours – his.
power play ended when he began to fuck you ruthlessly.
his question remains unanswered – he doesn’t seek one either, he just enjoys watching how messy you’re getting under him, ready to beg more when his hips slow down – and nearly stops as he fucks you leisurely, taking his time, and even having a ghost smirk on his face.
and when you look at him, your vision is blurry yet witnessing his lustful expression, representing of the dominant side he has on you, you know he waits for you to beg – to cry. weren’t it for your aching pussy that is in need to be fucked by bruce, you would stay still, yet, you have no brain at all – only a greedy wet pussy and passion mixed with love.
“bruce –“ his name comes out of your parted lips on its own – pure instinct. “ohh – bruce!”
“yes, my pretty slut, what’s wrong?”
“move – aghh – please, move already! nee – ohh – need you to move!”
leaving your wrists free, his hands positioned on your hips, holding it strongly, ready to bounce into you with all his strength, his weight can be felt on you, sending a different sense of both pain and pleasure at the same time.
“look who’s begging now –“ he teases, kneeling down until his lips touch your neck, biting it – licking it so that he can leave marks on you- bigger and more efficient ones than yours that you left on his entire body before he took control. he enjoyed being under you, yet, the delight of having you under him is far greater than it. “tell me – that I am the one who is in control over you, not you over me,” he lowers down, licking and kissing your exposed body gladly, reaching until its tongue travels on your hardened breasts.
pushing you against his hot tongue, you answer, feeling his cock leaving your pussy slowly, “you! bruce – ohh – you!” “good girl.” he says lastly, then, pushing his hip further, the cock fills your warm walls entirely with a powerful thrust and he doesn’t stop – he thrusts into you with a great pace and power that you no longer remember the power play – letting him do whatever he wants to do with you until he’s satisfied.

⋆.˚✮ summer’s fading
⭑ word count: 2.2k
⭑ warnings: very very very tiny bit of sexual thoughts mentioned VERY briefly, use of the nickname “baby”
⭑ summary: while everyone’s enjoying their last night at the lake house you struggle with the thought of it being the last time you’ll see your boyfriend for months. quinn spends the night trying to change your mood after he hears you calling out to him.
⭑ note: hi guys!! this is my first fic post here (kinda nervous) but anyway feel free to have a look around and maybe send in a request or say hi? anyway thank you for reading, i hope you enjoy!
all day the thought of this being your last night with quinn had weighed heavily on your mind. while everyone shared jokes, laughed, and made the most of the last day, you couldn't shake the looming reality that in less than 24 hours, your boyfriend would be on a plane back to vancouver, leaving you in michigan. the laughter and warmth of the fire only worsened the ache in your chest. it felt like a countdown, every second was slipping away, the end of summer creeping closer and closer.
throughout the day you had barely participated in the fun, you just sat quietly, watching them all as you were lost in your thoughts. no one seemed to notice, not even your boyfriend. part of you was relieved no one noticed, you didn't want to ruin the mood but another part of you felt a deep sting that after all these years together, quinn hadn't picked up on your unease.
as the sun dipped further the group finished their hot dogs and excitedly ran to the lake to jump in before dessert. the sight of them running off, carefree and full of energy only made your heart sink further. it was getting darker and now on top of everything, you regretted letting your emotions keep you from enjoying the day.
you watched as quinn jogged away with everyone, a soft call of his name escaping your lips. he didn't hear you over the splashes and laughter. you called again, a little louder, but no response. frustration and sadness washed over you and tears began to stream down your cheeks as your voice cracked on the third call of his name. it wasn't until the fourth call, which was louder and more desperate that he finally turned around.
his expression immediately shifted as he raced over to you. "what's wrong, baby?" he asked urgently, crouching down in front of your lawn chair, his eyes full of concern as he gently cupped your face. now that he's in front of you the tears flow uncontrollably and your chest tightens with each sob. all you can manage to say is his name between your broken sobs and gasps for breath.
“hey, hey it’s okay.” quinn softly speaks, his eyes searching your face for any sign of what’s wrong. “did something happen?”
“i don’t want it to be over.” you croak out, your voice barely being above a whisper.
a frown tugs quinn’s lips as he gently wipes the tears on your cheek. “i don’t want it to be over either.” he admits, sighing as he looks at your state.
“i don’t want you to leave.” you sob, your words broken. “i can’t stand you being gone for months again.”
quinn sighs, pulling you into a tight hug, his hand rubbing your back soothingly. “i know baby. i’m gonna miss you so much too. but it’ll go by quickly, i promise, and we can text and call every day.”
“it’s not the same.” you say through another sob. “and you’re always busy on game days.”
“i know.” he whispers, pulling you close into his chest. “i wish i could stay here longer but i have things to go back to. i promise it’ll go by fast.”
you wait a moment before pulling back slightly, looking up at your boyfriend with teary eyes. “did i ruin the whole day?”
quinn shakes his head firmly. “no, no, of course not.” he cups your face again. “don't ever think that. it’s okay to feel how you’re feeling.”
“but i didn’t do anything with you and your brother or your friends… i feel like i wasted the day.” you say with a heavy sigh, wiping your own tears away. “i miss it being just us. we don't get that anymore.”
quinn's frown deepens even more. “you don't ruin anything. i got to spend the whole summer with you and that's what matters. we've had so much time together and today was great because i got to be with you.”
“but quinn, we havent done anything the two of us in so long, and i miss that.” you admit, your voice quieter.
“i miss it too.” he whispers, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. “you're right, we havent had a lot of time alone this summer.” he pauses and makes eye contact with you. “how about we go get some ice cream? just you and me, like we used to?”
you wipe at the wet skin below your eyes, nodding slowly. “yeah i’d like that.”
quinn leans in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “good, i’ll go tell the guys we're heading out for a bit.” he stands up and looks down at you with a lighthearted but concerned smile. “wait here.”
he walks over to where his brothers and friends are by the lake, luke noticing him first. “everything okay?” his youngest brother asks.
“yeah.” quinn replies, “we're just gonna grab some ice cream.” he doesn’t stay any longer than needed and quickly heads back to you, smiling and taking your head. “ready?”
you nod again, sniffling. he leads you to his car, opening the door for you and making sure you’re settled before getting in himself.
after arriving at dairy queen, quinn orders two waffle cones, one vanilla and one chocolate for you. the restaurant is mostly empty, except for a few families with kids. he hands you your ice cream and leads you to a quieter table in the corner, where you sit next to each other.
"thanks, quinn," you say softly, the sadness from earlier still lingering.
he nods, offering a reassuring smile. "it’s gonna be okay," he says, rubbing your arm. "i know it sucks, and i hate leaving you too. but i’m always thinking about you, every second of the day, no matter where i am." you hum softly in acknowledgment, focusing on your ice cream.
quinn keeps his eyes on you, his hand still gently rubbing your arm. "i hate seeing you sad. especially over me. i just don’t want you to spend your last night here upset. let’s make the most of it, okay?"
you let out a small, shaky breath. "how?"
he smirks, his eyes twinkling. “i can think of some things.” he chuckles, thinking raunchy thoughts before immediately stopping himself from going further.
you let out a small laugh at his joke. "well, ice cream was a start. maybe we can watch a movie, or take a walk—just the two of us?"
"it’s late, and your flight’s in the morning," you point out.
quinn rolls his eyes with a dramatic pout. "you’re really killing me here." then he notices your eyes welling up again and his expression softens immediately. "hey, i was just teasing. don’t cry, i didn’t mean it like that."
he reaches out, brushing a strand of hair away from your face, his touch gentle. "how about we go for a drive? we can listen to your favorite music, and when we get back, we’ll cuddle up in my room, just the two of us. we can talk, watch something, whatever you want."
a small smile tugs at your lips. "yeah, that sounds good."
he lets out a relieved sigh, smiling as he presses a kiss to your forehead again. "good. let’s go on that drive."
the two of you head back to his car. quinn opens the door for you, making sure you’re comfortable before he gets behind the wheel. once he connects his phone to the car he hands you his phone. "queue up your music."
as the music plays, quinn places his hand on your thigh, giving it a comforting squeeze. he smiles when he sees you begin to relax. for a while, the two of you simply drive, the sound of your favorite songs filling the air as quinn glances at you now and then, his hand never leaving your thigh.
"feeling a bit better now?" he asks softly, his voice full of care.
“yeah, i just… i missed this, being with you like it used to be before you left the first time.”
quinn nods, his tone gentle as he replies, "i know, me too. it's really nice to have this time alone with you again." he glances at you, feeling a pang of regret from seeing how sad you’d been earlier. he missed your usual happy self.
he turns his attention back to the road, sighing softly. a little while later, he pulls onto the street leading up to the lake house. slowing down, he parks in the driveway, turns off the ignition, and looks over at you. unbuckling his seatbelt, he reaches for your hand. "come on," he says with a soft smile, stepping out and walking around the car to open your door for you. he helps you out, shuts the door behind you, and leads you toward the house, opening the door and gently ushering you inside.
once inside, he guides you upstairs to his bedroom, flicking on the light as he walks in. he sits on the bed, patting the spot next to him, signaling you to join him. when you sit down, instead of letting go of your hand, he intertwines his fingers with yours, his eyes meeting yours with a tender smile. he cups your cheek with his other hand, his thumb brushing lightly against your skin. shuffling closer, his expression turns soft and loving.
“i meant it when i said i hate seeing you so sad.” his voice is barely above a whisper, his gaze locked on yours. he runs his hand through your hair gently, sighing. "i know it's hard when i'm gone, but it's hard for me, too. i hate leaving you every time." he looks away for a moment, frowning slightly. “i think about you all the time… when i’m training, playing, even hanging out with the guys… you're always on my mind. i hate being so far from you.” his eyes return to yours as he sighs, pulling you closer, his hand gently caressing your cheek. “i wish you could follow me everywhere i go. i don’t know how i make it through the year without you by my side.”
your lips part as you quietly murmur, “me too.”
he smiles softly, his eyes never leaving yours as his hand moves from your cheek down to your shoulder. he gently nudges you to lie back, and once you’re flat on the bed, he positions himself over you, careful not to put his weight on you. he hovers above, gazing down with nothing but love in his eyes. his thumb strokes your cheek while his other hand rests on your hip, caressing it lightly. his eyes flick to your lips, then back to your face, his heart swelling as he looks at you.
“quinn…” you drag out his name, making him hum in response, his head tilting in silent curiosity. his hand on your hip tightens just slightly, his soft smile still present. “i love you so much.”
his eyes light up, the smile on his lips growing as those words hit him, his heart skipping a beat. even though he knows it, hearing you say it always fills him with happiness.
he gently moves his hand from your cheek to your jaw, cradling your face as he whispers, “i love you too, baby.” then, shifting beside you, he pulls you into his chest, holding you close. his hands wander lovingly across your body—one holding your hip, the other tracing soft lines up and down your back.
it was quiet except for the soft hum of the ceiling fan in his room and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. his fingers traced over your back, he drew soothing patterns along our back, lulling you into a calm and comforting state.
“thank you for buying me ice cream,” you murmur your tone light, catching him off guard after the comfortable silence that had been going on for a little.
he chuckles softly, amused by the sudden shift. tracing your back still, he says with complete sincerity, “i’d do anything to make you smile.”
“i don’t deserve you,” you whisper, the weight of your emotions pressing down again.
quinn frowns, shaking his head as he squeezes your hip gently to grab your attention. "yes, you do. stop saying that. you're perfect. you're my perfect girl." his smile returns, filled with love and certainty.
you blush and look up at him through your lashes quickly. “i wish we could stay like this forever.” you whispered, your voice barely audible as you buried your head back into his chest.
quinn pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head. “me too,” he murmured, his hold on you tightening ever so slightly.

Wicked Games 6
Warnings: non/dubcon, cheating, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Character: Steve Rogers
Summary: you had a one night stand. Or did you?
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
The clinic waiting room reflects the silent turmoil of your existence. You sit in the rigid plastic chairs and stare at the wall. Your mouth still tastes of bile. Only minutes ago, you were in the bathroom, spewing up your guts. It’s as if you’re own body is trying to convince you of reality. You don’t need this test, idiot, you’re fucked.
When your name is called, you follow the dour nurse to a room. She goes over your chart and your reason for coming. She puts the clipboard in the plastic pocket mounted on the door and shuts it behind her as she goes.
The doctor is thirty minutes behind. She gets you a stick to pee on and takes blood to send to the lab. The first test comes back positive but the second will take longer to process. It doesn’t matter. It’s really just repeating what you don’t want to hear. You are pregnant.
The detached treatment has you feeling even more dejected. You’re given a stack of literature at the front desk before you go. You toss it in the bin by the building entrance and trod on.
It isn’t just the child, it’s the father. You know deep down it can’t be your husband’s. It’s been too long since you... did that. As much as you want to lie to yourself, you can’t. All that’s done so far is dig the hole deeper.
So, you don’t have much of a choice. You can’t afford it. Not financially, physically, or emotionally. An innocent child doesn’t deserve to be dragged into the mess you’ve made.
First, you need to leave. You already have a plan. You’re packing your bags as soon as you get home. Wendy said you can crash for a while. You’ll have to figure it from her couch. Once you’re settled, you’ll go to another clinic and do what needs to be done.
It isn’t the baby. Your marriage was already over. It just hurts. It’s not acceptance, it’s giving up. You can’t fix this. You tried so hard and it just didn’t work. The wasted time if worse than the wasted effort.
A car honks but you barely notice. There's always someone raging in the streets. It comes again, shorter than before, and an engine whirs up to the curb, sliding in between two parked cars. The silver paint glares in your vision.
“Hey,” the window rolls down, “how’d it go?”
You stagger and face Steve Rogers as he hooks his elbow over the open window. You shake your head, “Excuse me?”
“I was right.” He says. It’s just a fact, not smug. Just a statement.
“Stop. Please. Leave me alone. I told you--”
“You can’t run away from me.” He clicks free his seat belt and opens his car door. Before he can get out, you’re on the move. He catches up to your easily. “It’s mine.”
You splay your fingers in frustration and keep walking. Please, just go. “No, I’m married. It’s up to me and my husband.”
“I know you haven’t been fucking him.” His language has you skidding to a stop. You turn to him, aghast. “I can smell it. For a few days after.”
“It would be more than a few days ago,” you snap.
He scoffs, “yeah, it would be.” He stares at you and your heart flips.
“Have you—have you been following me?”
He doesn’t answer, just looks back at you. He doesn’t need to say it. You know.
“How long?” You hiss.
“Look, that night...” he begins.
“No. That night nothing! It’s over. One night and it’s not going to be the rest of my life. Alright?”
“I’ll take care of you and the baby. Your husband won’t be happy to know that you and I--”
“He’s not going to know, Captain.” You snarl. “He can’t know. Alright? This is a mistake but it can be undone. Got it? So go and live your superhero life while I scrape the barrel.”
“You’re going to leave him anyways so why are you doing this?” He asks. His tone is so fucking annoying. As if it’s all so easy.
“How do you—oh my god, oh my god. Please, back off.” You put your hands up and take a step back.
“You can’t just get rid of my baby,” he follows you as you fall back into step.
“Go.”
“No, I won’t let you.”
“I’m begging you--”
“Just like you did that night. I know you didn’t forget.” He grabs your arm and pulls you around to face him. “You can’t. It was the best night of my life and you just disappeared. I can’t let you go again.”
“Let go of me,” you wriggle in his grasp.
“I’m trying to help you. I’m telling you that you don’t need to do all this. I can help with the baby. Please.”
You stare up at him defiantly and tear away from him, “I don’t need you to save me. That was my first mistake. Thinking that a man could ever do that.”
You turn and stomp away. He calls your name but you keep going. You can’t look back. You’re terrified. Deep down you know if he doesn’t follow you then, he will find you later. This whole time he’s been playing your shadow and you never even knew it.

Kinktober 2024: Day 1
SUMMARY: Jake is stuck at base for a mind-numbing training session, while you’re home enjoying a much-needed day off. Bored and missing him, you decide to have a little fun by slipping into his favorite lacy lingerie and sending him a few teasing photos. What starts as playful fun turns into a tantalizing game of anticipation as Jake struggles to focus on anything other than getting home to you—and making you pay for being such a tease.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I know I'm a little late getting this one posted. Work and life got the best of me today! But here is Day 1 of the Kinktober prompts!
PROMPT: "Damn, you're such a tease."
KINK: Sexting/Sending NSFW Pictures.
WARNINGS: Sexting/Sending NSFW Pictures.
WORD COUNT: 562
TAG LIST: @omgbrianab I @shanimallina87 I @fanficmom94 I @smoothdogsgirl I @djs8891
If you would like to be added to my Tag List please feel free to comment, send an ask, or send a DM and I'll be happy to get you added!
It was one of those rare days off, the kind where you could lounge around the apartment, free from any obligations or stress. You had the place to yourself, and although it was peaceful, something was missing: Jake.
Jake was stuck at base, caught up in yet another training session. You could practically hear his groans when he left this morning, muttering about how he could fly his aircraft blindfolded and still ace this review. You’d been texting back and forth with him all morning, and from the sound of it, he was bored out of his mind.
You’d been missing him too—his presence, his touch, the playful banter you shared. And then an idea popped into your head. You glanced toward your dresser, your lips curling into a mischievous smile as you remembered Jake's favorite lacy lingerie set tucked inside.
A little fun wouldn’t hurt, right?
Grinning, you slipped into the soft, delicate fabric, adjusting the lace until it fit perfectly against your skin. The deep, sultry red contrasted beautifully with your complexion, and you couldn’t help but admire the way it hugged your curves. You knew this set drove Jake crazy—he’d told you so more than once.
You grabbed your phone and posed in front of the mirror, snapping a few playful shots. One with you standing straight, one where you tugged the hem of the lace teasingly, and one of you sitting on the edge of the bed, just enough skin showing to keep it innocent… yet tempting.
With a smirk, you sent the first picture to Jake, captioning it with a simple, “Miss you.”
You barely had to wait a minute before your phone buzzed. Jake’s name lit up the screen, and you opened the message to see his reply: “Damn, you’re such a tease.”
You giggled, feeling a rush of satisfaction. It was good to know you could get to him, even when he was stuck in a stuffy classroom. But you weren’t done yet.
Biting your lip, you snapped another picture—this time lying on the bed, your body half-covered by the sheets. The lacy set peeked out just enough to leave plenty to the imagination, but still give Jake something to think about.
“Thought you could use a distraction. How’s that training going?” you typed, hitting send.
His response came back almost instantly: “Training? What training? All I’m thinking about now is how fast I can get home.”
You could practically picture him shifting uncomfortably in his seat, trying to focus on anything but the images you’d sent.
Feeling playful, you teased him again. “Aw, don’t you still have a few hours left? Guess you’ll just have to be patient.”
Another message buzzed in: “You’re killing me, sweetheart. Wait ‘til I get home. We’ll see who’s teasing who.”
You felt a warm shiver run down your spine at his words, knowing full well what was waiting for you once Jake finally got back. But for now, you enjoyed the thought of him struggling through his training session, knowing you had him wrapped around your finger.
Leaning back against the pillows, you smiled to yourself, imagining how this little game would play out once Jake was home. His frustration would build throughout the day, and by the time he walked through that door, he’d be ready to turn the tables on you in the best possible way.

~ EVENT SPOTLIGHT : ECTOCOMP 2024 ~
La Petite Mort or Le Grand Guignol? Either way, it’s going to get spooky!
Ever since October 2007 spooky-game enthusiasts all over the world have a chance to participate in ECTOCOMP, an annual competition for interactive fiction celebrating the SPOOKY MONTH OF HALLOWEENTOBER. Whether you celebrate Halloween, Day of the Dead, All Saint's Eve, or just love ghost stories and creeping people out, this is your time to shine!
Previously organized by Jason Guest for ADRIFT games, the jam is now open to all development platforms. Since the beginning of this initiative, there has been a motivation to unite and strengthen ties between international communities in the IF world. Creators can submit games either in one of the four main languages - English, Spanish, French and German or any other!
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Ghostbusters. Named after the Ghostbusters’ car license plate number ECTO 1, this year the jam pays tribute to the film that inspired the title! Some other subthemes and inspiration prompts are: Spooky adventure, Sweet supernatural, Halloween fest, Día de Los Muertos, All Saints', All Souls' Eve and any other festivity or mythology around the world.
As per tradition, Ectocomp has two categories:
La Petite Mort, for those who want to speed-write their game in 4 hours or less.
Le Grand Guignol, for games that, for whatever reason, took longer than 4 hours to write.
When the jam is over, all of the submitted games will be uploaded to the IF Archive.
~ ENDED ~
The voting for IFComp ended and the winners have been announced! Congratulations to the first-place winner, The Bat by Chandler Groover! Check out the complete results for this year's competition.
Another edition of the Bad Art Visual Novel Jam is upon us! Check out the two entries!
~ ONGOING (VOTING) ~
Entries have been submitted for the 6th Spooktober Annual Visual Novel Jam! You can vote for your favourites until October 27th! Every October Friday you can also watch Chizu's sponsored Spooktober Stream where she plays through all submissions!
Find inspiration in dusty old decrepit corners, revivify the forgotten - the Revival Jam 2024 is here! You can now vote for your favourite entries!
~ ONGOING (SUBMITTING) ~

It’s spooky month and with it comes the annual ECTOCOMP 2024. If it’s spooky or supernatural why not submit it?

On the CoG Forum, Halloween is already there! Until Oct 31st, you can submit your projects to the Halloween Jam - but don't forget the theme! VAMPIRE, Murder, 70’s Disco!
Disabled Rep VN Jam has a very simple premise but a very important message.
Once upon a time, a game jam was held to create stories around the theme of fairy tales… and that game jam is the Once Upon A Time VN Jam. It’s running from October 1st to January 31st.
Concours de Fiction Interactive Francophone 2025 is for all French-speaking enthusiasts. Submissions are accepted until March 3rd 2025.
Are you perhaps a fan of more somber, melancholic themes? Then check out the Dying Year - Visual Novel Jam! You have until the end of the year to participate.
The Black Visual Novel Jam is all about working with creative professional developers who work in visual novels to bring more Black stories to life. The goal is to create a space where Black creators can show their unique storytelling through visual novels.
Bare your teeth and sharpen your claws because the Monstrous Desires 2024 Visual Novel Jam is here! Dedicated to the love of entities, horrors, and monstrosities, this jam will be full of romantic Visual Novels (VN) that heavily focus on a monster may it be original or from classics, folklore, modern media, etc.

Dark Descent: Info-kun X fem/afab!Reader
Twisted Truths: incest, dubcon, headcanon info-kun name, underaged sex, fingering, vaginal penetration
Synopsis: Kenzo's little sister sought his help for a VR game. Since the game she's playing is an 'immersive' visual novel romance, with his aid, the line between reality and fantasy blurred — as well as the line between siblings.
Shadows Lengthen: 2.6k words
The room was bathed in the soft glow of the computer monitor, casting an eerie light on [Y/n]'s focused face as she navigated through the virtual world of 'Amorous Abyss.' It was a game she'd heard whispers about, a visual novel rumored to be so immersive it was like living a second life. Her heart raced with excitement as she approached the moment she'd been eagerly awaiting for weeks.
[Y/n] had chosen her love interest carefully: Kai, the brooding, mysterious hero with a heart of gold hidden beneath layers of angst. His digital eyes seemed to gaze into hers, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. It was time for their relationship to take a steamy turn, and she was more than ready.
But there was a problem. The game's latest update included a feature she hadn't anticipated: a full-body immersion system that mimicked intimate contact with the characters. The game's description called it 'revolutionary,' but she knew she needed help to authenticate the experience.
Her thoughts drifted to her older brother, Kenzo. He was the closest person she had to a confidant, and she knew he'd be able to keep a secret. Plus, she'd caught him playing games with mature content before. He'd understand. She took a deep breath and picked up her phone, and the decision was made. Her thumbs danced across the screen as she composed a text message, her cheeks flushing with a mix of excitement and embarrassment.
"Niisama, I need to talk to you about something...it's kind of weird," she typed, hitting send before she could second-guess herself. The anticipation grew as she waited for his response, the game's romantic background music swelling around her.
The redhead's reply was swift. "What's up, [N/n]? You okay?"
Her heart skipped a beat. She knew that her brother was stuck on gadgets 24/7, though she never expected him to reply to her message this fast, especially when he deemed it 'insignificant'. Most of the time, he would just ignore her message or leave it on 'seen' when he's busy doing his shady dealings. Thankfully, this time, he seems free to acknowledge her.
"Can you come to my room? It's about this game I'm playing. I need some advice," she responded, pursing her lips in anticipation.
She heard his footsteps in the hallway, and a moment later, her bedroom door creaked open. Kenzo's face was a mix of curiosity and concern. Though the second emotion appeared only for a split second — by the time his narrowed, red orbs landed on her, intrigue and annoyance masked his features.
"What's going on?" he asked, leaning against the doorframe.
The girl swallowed hard, feeling the weight of her older brother's gaze on her. Kenzo was always a man of few words, but he had a knack for making his presence known. His arms were folded across his chest, and he waited for her to speak, his curiosity piqued by the urgency in her message.
"It's about the new VR game I got," she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "I want to... experience it fully, but I need your help."
The bespectacled male raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "What do you mean?"
Her eyes darted to the floor as she gathered her courage. Her older brother's gaze was heavy, but she knew she had to ask. So, with whatever little courage she had, she gathered everything and stared straight at her brother's ruby orbs, which were looking at her intensely, making her feel small and vulnerable.
"There's a... scene coming up, and I need a stand-in for the physical part. It's just for the game," she rushed out, hoping he'd understand.
Her brother's expression morphed from confusion to surprise and then, to her relief, to amusement. [Y/n] felt her heart leaped with hope, knowing that her brother would be willing to listen to her trivial concerns and give her the advice she needed.
"You want me to... help you with that?" He chuckled, his voice low.
She nodded, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks. "Please, Niisama. It's important to me. I've never felt this way about a game before."
He studied her for a moment, his eyes softening as he stepped into the room. "Okay, but you have to explain everything to me."
With trembling hands, she demonstrated the VR setup, showing him the controllers and the headset. She explained the intimate scenes in detail, her voice growing softer with each word. Kenzo's smile faded, replaced by a look of understanding.
"Alright, I'll help you," he said finally, his voice a gentle rumble. "But only if you're sure this is what you want."
She nodded, a spark of excitement igniting in her chest. "I'm positive."
"Let's get this over with, then," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of something she couldn't quite place. The redhead took the headset from her, his eyes meeting hers.
As the headset slipped over her eyes, the real world faded away, and she was transported into the arms of Kai, her virtual lover. The sensations began to overwhelm her, and she reached out, her hand brushing against something warm and solid.
Her heart jumped up in her chest. It was Kenzo, standing next to her, his hand hovering awkwardly in the air. [Y/n] briefly removed the headset, looking at her redheaded older brother with an apologetic expression, which he only responded with an unreadable expression.
"Sorry," she murmured, her cheeks flushing even deeper. He snickered, his hand dropping to his side.
"No problem," he said, his voice thick with something she hadn't heard before—desire?
[Y/n] put on the headset once more and the VR game began to play out, and she felt the digital whispers of Kai's breath against her ear. Her body responded instinctively, her breath hitching in anticipation. Kenzo's hand found hers, and she squeezed it tightly as the scene grew more intense. The fabric of her pajamas felt rough against her skin, a stark contrast to the soft caresses she felt in the game.
The tension in the room grew palpable, the air thick with unspoken desires. It didn't take long for the siblings to move to the bed, mirroring the scenario played in the game. [Y/n] could feel her body reacting to the sensations, and she knew her brother could feel it too. His thumb began to trace circles on the back of her hand, sending shivers up her arm. Her heart raced in her chest, thudding like a bass in a dance club.
The moment arrived. Kai's digital hands began to undress her, and she felt Kenzo's own hands mimic the movements. His touch was gentle but firm, his skin warm and real against hers. The game's graphics were stunning, the fabric of her dress sliding away to reveal her naked body. She gasped as she felt her brother's hand cup her bare breast, his thumb brushing over her erect nipple.
The line between reality and the game blurred as she leaned into his touch. The VR world swirled around them, the only sounds were the sighs of the virtual lovers and their ragged breathing. Her body arched off the bed, and she bit her lip to stifle a moan as Kenzo's hand traveled lower, his fingers slipping under the waistband of her pajama bottoms.
The game's narrative grew more heated, and the girl felt her arousal mirror Kai's digital passion. Her brother's touch grew bolder, his fingers delving into her wetness, exploring her folds. She couldn't tell if the sensations were coming from the game or her brother's hand, but she didn't care. All she knew was that she wanted more.
Her hips began to move in time with the rhythm of his fingers, her body undulating like a wave in the sea of desire. The VR world melded with the physical one, and she could feel Kai's mouth on hers, his tongue probing deeply, as Kenzo's kissed her neck. It was as if the two men were one, their passion intertwined in a dance of flesh and pixels.
The climax built within her, a crescendo of pleasure that she'd never felt before. She threw her head back, her moans echoing through the headset. Her brother's other hand found her hip, holding her in place as he drove her closer to the edge. The room spun around her, a whirlwind of sensations that left her gasping for breath.
And then it hit her, the most intense orgasm she'd ever experienced, tearing through her like a tornado. She bucked against the redhead's hand, her body convulsing with pleasure. She could feel his arousal pressing against her leg, and she reached out, her hand wrapping around his hard length.
As the last waves of her climax subsided, she opened her eyes, the VR world fading away. Kenzo's eyes were dark with lust, and she knew at that moment that their relationship had shifted forever. The game had brought them together in a way she'd never dared to dream of.
But now, as she looked into his eyes, she knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in their lives—a chapter filled with passion, secrets, and a bond that was no longer purely familial. With trembling hands, she removed the headset, the cool air of the room a stark contrast to the sultry embrace of the virtual world.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice hoarse with desire. Kenzo's eyes searched hers, the intensity of the moment weighing heavily on them both. He leaned in, his breath warm against her cheek.
"Don't thank me," he murmured, his hand sliding from her hip to the back of her neck. "This is just the start."
Without another word, he claimed her mouth in a kiss that was every bit as passionate as the ones she'd shared with Kai in the game. His tongue danced with hers, the taste of him intoxicating. It was like nothing she'd ever felt before—real, raw, and all-consuming.
[Y/n]'s hand tightened around his shaft, her movements growing more confident as she felt him respond to her touch. She could feel his pulse racing through his veins, the beat matching the frantic rhythm of her own heart. His kiss grew deeper, more demanding, and she met him with equal fervor.
They broke apart, panting, their eyes locked. The air was charged with a tension that could have powered the city outside their window. He stepped closer, and she could feel the heat of his body against hers.
"We should..." she began, but he silenced her with another kiss.
Kenzo's hands slid down her body, peeling away her pajamas. Her skin was alive with sensation, every inch of her yearning for his touch. He paused, his eyes raking over her naked form with an appreciation that made her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
"You're so perfect," he murmured, his voice a gruff whisper.
And then, with a hunger that was both terrifying and exhilarating, he removed his clothes, throwing them across the room like a sack of potatoes. His body was a sculpted masterpiece, a stark contrast to the softness of hers. [Y/n] could feel her own pulse hammering in her throat, her eyes wide with a mix of lust and awe. She could feel the heat of his arousal pressing against her, and she spread her legs, inviting him in.
Their bodies moved together in a dance as old as time, a dance of passion and need. Kenzo's kisses grew more urgent, his hands exploring every inch of her skin. He knew just where to touch her, just how to make her gasp and arch her back, her body a canvas for his desires.
And as they became one, the barrier between the game and reality shattered. The digital world of 'Amorous Abyss' faded away, replaced by the very real sensation of her brother inside her, his movements driving her towards another peak of pleasure. The lines blurred until she couldn't tell where the game ended and her new reality began.
"So this is what you truly meant by help, huh?" the redhead sneered, cleaning his glasses while thrusting into his little sister's tight hole without mercy.
[Y/n] nodded, unabashed, feeling the warmth spread through her body. Her cheeks were flushed with a perfect pink hue, her tresses damp with sweat and sticking to her forehead. She let out a couple of wanton mewls, her inhibition gone when her brother continued his relentless assault on her poor cunt.
Kenzo's strokes grew stronger, more demanding, as he watched his sister's body respond to his touch. He'd never seen her like this—so open, so vulnerable, so desperate for release. It was intoxicating, and he found himself getting lost in the moment, forgetting the taboo nature of their situation.
"Such a slut," he growled darkly, ruby eyes narrowing to a judging glare, his signature smirk adorning his lips. "But you're mine now, aren't you?"
[Y/n] nodded vigorously, unable to form coherent words as the pleasure built up within her. Her body was a symphony of sensations, each stroke of Kenzo's cock sending shockwaves of ecstasy through her core. She felt his grip on her hips tighten, his pace quickening as he approached his own climax.
But amidst the whirlwind of passion, a tiny voice in the back of her mind whispered a warning. This was her brother, the person she'd grown up with, the one who'd protected her from monsters under the bed. Yet here they were, sharing the most intimate of moments. Would this change everything?
The question was forgotten as Kenzo's hand found her clit, his thumb rubbing it in perfect time with his thrusts. She threw her head back, crying out his name as the orgasm claimed her once again. The room was a blur of lights and sounds, their cries of pleasure melding together in a symphony of lust.
And when it was over, when they lay tangled in the sheets, their bodies slick with sweat, she knew that nothing would ever be the same again. They'd crossed a line, and there was no going back. But as she felt his heartbeat against her chest, she couldn't help but wonder if this was the start of something incredible, something that had been hidden within the pixels of a game all along.
Kenzo rolled onto his side, his arm draped around her waist, and she could feel his breath against her neck. His cock was still hard, still buried inside her, and she shivered with the aftershocks of pleasure. For a moment, they lay there in silence, the only sound the steady thump of their hearts.
"That was..." he began, his voice trailing off.
"Incredible," she finished for him, her breathing still ragged.
"Should we make this a regular thing?" he teased, humping his hardening cock against her entrance.
The sensation of his thickness sliding in and out of her was so real, so intense, that she could hardly believe she'd ever lived without it. [Y/n]'s eyes widened with surprise and a thrill of excitement, biting her lips to prevent a shameless moan from escaping her lips.
"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice breathy.
Kenzo leaned in, his eyes gleaming with sinister mischief. "You know what I mean. Every time you play that game, I'll be here, bringing those scenes to life. What do you say, little sis?"
The girl felt a rush of conflicting emotions—shock, arousal, and a hint of fear. But the excitement won out. She nodded, her voice a whisper. "Okay."

𝐯𝐡𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐞
pairing: rafe cameron x kook!reader
summary: you’re a strong, confident, and nobody’s fool—certainly not even rafe cameron’s. when you stumble upon a tape hidden in his room, containing something far more personal than he ever shared with you, it’s not about sofia or the past. it’s about the trust rafe shattered by not telling you. his refusal to be upfront about it breaks something between you, and when you confront him, it becomes clear he’ll do anything to keep you—even when you decide to walk away. but you aren’t going to crumble or let him control you. you move on and live your life, but rafe doesn’t know how to let go. in the end, the choice between holding onto your pride or the fire between you burns brighter than you imagined.
warning(s): toxic relationship dynamics, dark themes (possession, emotional manipulation), strong language, sexual content (18+), emotional intensity. MINOR DNI!
au: another angst again? really? i know but i’m a angsty bitch so yea. like, reblog, comment & feedback are much appreciated. discussion can be send through my ask box, please feel free to send in anything. taglist | tagging: @rubixgsworld @rafeyslamb @bisexualcvnt @tracymbcm @maybankslover @mileyraes @akobx @noobmazter69 @xoxohoneymoongirl @xoxosblogsblog @wearemadeofstardust0 @saviorcomplexrry @littlelamy @enjoymyloves
You sat at the kitchen island in the Cameron household, staring at the coffee in front of you while Rose, Rafe’s stepmom, hummed softly to herself, clearly pleased with her latest floral arrangement. The normalcy of the moment clashed sharply with the unease gnawing at you, but you kept your emotions in check.
“Rafe’s been a bit on edge lately, hasn’t he?” Rose asked, glancing at you from over the top of her cup.
You kept your tone even, despite the knot of unease tightening in your chest. “He’s always like that.”
She gave you a knowing look, the kind that said she’d been through more than she let on. “Sometimes, with people like Rafe, you have to draw a line. Push back when they push too hard.”
You nodded, your fingers curling around the cup in front of you, but you didn’t respond. What could you say? That you knew Rafe’s darker edges better than anyone? That you understood how his secrets ran deeper than he let on, but you thought you’d seen enough of them to know where his limits were?
You excused yourself, leaving Rose in the kitchen as you headed upstairs to his room. It was familiar, the place you’d spent so much time together, but today it felt different. There was something off in the air. Rafe had been distant lately, but you hadn’t pressed him, giving him space to brood, to work out whatever was on his mind.
But today, you couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
You found yourself in front of his dresser, drawn to it without even thinking. One of the drawers was partially open, and inside, you saw a stack of VHS tapes. Most of them were innocuous—old football games, random recordings of parties, but one caught your eye.
“Rafe & Sofia.” the label read, scrawled in Rafe’s unmistakable handwriting.
Your chest tightened at the sight of his ex’s name, but it wasn’t jealousy that gripped you. It was curiosity. What was he hiding? And why hadn’t he told you about it?
Your fingers moved almost of their own accord, slipping the tape into the player. The screen flickered to life, showing a younger Rafe and Sofia, laughing and carefree on the beach. You could feel the tension knotting in your stomach, but you told yourself it was just a piece of his past. Until the video shifted—suddenly, jarringly intimate.
The camera cut to a bedroom, his bedroom. The footage was raw, unfiltered, and it wasn’t just a casual memory anymore. It was a sextape.
You felt a sickening twist in your gut, your breath catching in your throat. Your heart pounded, not from the act itself, but from the betrayal—the fact that Rafe had kept this, hidden this, and never thought to tell you.
The front door slammed downstairs, and you barely had time to process what you’d seen before Rafe’s footsteps echoed up the stairs.
He walked in, stopping cold when he saw the VHS player running and the tape on the screen. His jaw clenched, and the air between you crackled with tension. “What the hell are you doing?”
You stood up, holding the remote tightly in your hand, your voice sharp but controlled. “I found your tape. Rafe and Sofia’s tape. Why didn’t you tell me about this?”
His face darkened, and he took a step toward you, his posture rigid. “Because it’s not something you needed to know about.”
“Not something I needed to know about?” You let out a bitter laugh, shaking your head. “Rafe, you kept this. You hid this. It’s not about Sofia. It’s about you lying to me.”
He ran a hand through his hair, pacing as frustration bled into his tone. “I didn’t lie. It’s old, Y/N. It’s from another time. It means nothing.”
“Then why keep it?” you fired back, your voice rising. “If it means nothing, why hide it? You didn’t trust me enough to tell me.”
Rafe’s eyes were hard, his jaw clenched as he spoke. “Because I knew you’d make it into something it’s not. I didn’t want this—didn’t want to deal with this.”
Your anger flared, hot and consuming, but you didn’t let it overpower you. “Did you think I wouldn’t find out? Did you think I wouldn’t care? Do you still watch it, Rafe? Do you still watch her?”
His face twisted, a mix of frustration and something darker. He didn’t answer, and that silence cut deeper than any confession could have.
“Did you...” you took a steadying breath, your voice colder now. “Did you jerk your fucking self off to it?”
For a moment, he didn’t respond. His eyes locked on yours, and the weight of the question hung heavy between you. Then, he took a step closer, his voice low and dangerous. “No. But it doesn’t matter what you believe. You’re already making up your mind.”
You stared at him, the gravity of his words settling in your chest like a stone. “You didn’t think to tell me. That’s the problem, Rafe. It’s not about jealousy. It’s about trust, and you broke that.”
Rafe’s jaw tightened, and his eyes flashed with a mix of anger and desperation. “I didn’t want to lose you. I didn’t tell you because I was afraid you’d walk away.”
You met his gaze, your voice firm. “You know what Rafe, maybe you should’ve thought about that before keeping secrets.”
His hands curled into fists at his sides, and he looked away, breathing heavily. For a long moment, the room was thick with tension, the silence between you louder than words. Then, finally, you spoke again, your voice steady but final. “We’re done, Rafe.”
He froze, his eyes snapping back to yours, dark and intense. “You’re not serious.”
“I am.” Your tone was resolute. “I can’t be with someone who doesn’t trust me enough to tell the truth.”
Rafe’s expression hardened, a dangerous edge creeping into his voice. “I’m not going to beg, Y/N. If you want to leave, then leave. But I’m not going to keep you.”
You felt the weight of his words, sharp and cutting, but you didn’t falter. “I’m not asking you to.”
Without another word, you turned and walked out of his room, your chest tight with the finality of it all. You passed Sarah in the hallway, her eyes wide with concern as you stormed past her, but you didn’t stop. You didn’t look back.
In the days that followed, you tried to push the pain away. You were strong, and you wouldn’t let Rafe Cameron be the reason you fell apart. You threw yourself into your own life, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing you broken. But no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t shake the feeling of his eyes on you, the lingering weight of his presence even when he wasn’t around.
He didn’t call, didn’t text, but he was always there. Watching. Waiting.
One night, determined to prove to yourself—and to him—that you were moving on, you went out with a guy you’d been talking to. Ryan was charming, confident, and exactly the distraction you needed. He pulled you close on the dance floor, his hands resting on your hips, his breath warm against your ear as the music pulsed around you.
You knew Rafe was there before you saw him. You could feel his presence, the intensity of his gaze burning into you from across the room. When you finally met his eyes, you saw the fury there, the barely-contained rage simmering beneath the surface.
Ryan leaned down, whispering into your ear. “He’s watching us. Want to make him mad?”
You smirked, leaning into the challenge. “Let him.”
But Rafe wasn’t going to stand by and let it happen. He pushed through the crowd, his jaw clenched, his eyes locked on you with a dangerous intensity. When he reached you, he grabbed your arm, pulling you away from Ryan without a word.
“Let go of me,” you snapped, trying to pull free from his grip.
He didn’t listen. His voice was low and deadly as he growled, “You’re coming with me. Now.”
You jerked your arm out of his grasp, eyes blazing with defiance. “I told you we’re done, Rafe. You don’t get to control me anymore.”
His jaw clenched, the anger swirling in his eyes making him look almost dangerous. But beneath the fury, you could see something else—desperation. He wasn’t just angry; he was terrified of losing you. “I’m not letting you walk away from this,” he bit out, stepping closer, his towering presence casting a shadow over you.
You stood your ground, refusing to be intimidated. “You already did, Rafe. You chose to keep things from me. That’s on you.”
Rafe’s eyes darkened, his breath heavy as he stepped closer until there was barely any space left between you. “You’re really going to throw us away because of one mistakes?”
Your heart twisted painfully, but you didn’t let him see it. “It wasn’t just one mistake. It was a choice. You chose to keep that part of your life hidden from me. If you can’t be honest with me about something like that, then what else are you hiding?”
Rafe stared at you, his chest rising and falling with labored breaths as the tension between you crackled in the air. He ran a hand through his hair, his voice raw as he said, “I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d react like this. I knew it would hurt you, and I didn’t want that.”
You crossed your arms, your voice cold. “You hurt me more by keeping it from me. Don’t you get that?”
His eyes flickered with frustration, and he took another step toward you, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “I fucked up, okay? I know that. But I don’t want to lose you.”
You clenched your fists, feeling your resolve wavering under the weight of his words. “Rafe, I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep pretending that everything’s fine when it’s not.”
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The sounds of the club seemed to fade away, leaving only the tense silence between you. Then, in a low, almost broken voice, Rafe whispered, “Do you really want to walk away from this? From us?”
You swallowed hard, your emotions a tangled mess. You wanted to stay strong, to walk away and never look back, but the connection between you was undeniable. You still cared about him, despite everything. But could you trust him again?
Rafe’s hand reached out, his fingers brushing against your cheek, and you felt a shiver run down your spine at the touch. “I’ll do anything to fix this, Y/N. Anything. Just tell me what you want.”
Your eyes met his, and for the first time, you saw the vulnerability in his gaze. He wasn’t just angry or desperate—he was scared. Scared of losing you. Scared of being alone.
“I want honesty,” you said quietly. “I want to know that I can trust you.”
Rafe nodded, his thumb brushing lightly over your skin. “You can. I’ll prove it to you. I swear.”
For a long moment, you just stood there, the weight of his promise hanging between you. Then, finally, you let out a shaky breath and pulled back, stepping away from his touch. “I need time, Rafe.”
His face softened, and he nodded slowly, though you could see the tension still coiled in his body. “I understand. I’ll give you time. But I’m not giving up on everything we had.”
You swallowed hard, not trusting yourself to say anything else. Without another word, you turned and walked out of the club, feeling his eyes on you the entire time.
Days passed, and despite everything, Rafe kept his word. He didn’t press you, didn’t bombard you with calls or texts. But you knew he was still there, watching, waiting for you to come to him.
The quiet between you felt strange, almost like a storm waiting to break. You found yourself thinking about him more than you wanted to, your mind drifting back to his words, his touch, the raw emotion in his eyes. You missed him, but you weren’t ready to admit that just yet.
Then, one night, as you sat alone in your room, your phone buzzed with a text from him.
Rafe: Can we talk? Please.
You stared at the message for a long moment, your heart pounding. Part of you wanted to ignore it, to stay strong and keep your distance. But another part of you—the part that still cared—wanted to see him, to hear him out.
Against your better judgment, you found yourself replying.
You: Come over.
Rafe showed up at your door within minutes, looking more disheveled than you’d ever seen him. His usual cocky confidence was gone, replaced by something raw and unguarded. He stood in front of you, his shoulders tense, his eyes searching yours.
“I didn’t think you’d let me come,” he admitted, his voice quiet.
You crossed your arms, keeping your face neutral. “You said you wanted to talk.”
Rafe nodded, running a hand through his hair, his eyes never leaving yours. “I messed up, Y/N. I know that. I should’ve told you about the tape. I should’ve trusted you.”
You watched him carefully, your heart beating a little faster at the sincerity in his voice. “Why didn’t you?”
He hesitated, his jaw clenching before he finally answered. “Because I was scared. Scared you’d think I wasn’t over her. Scared you’d leave.”
You frowned, your anger flaring up again. “I’m not Sofia, Rafe. You should’ve known I’m not like that.”
He shook his head, his expression pained. “I know you’re not. That’s why I didn’t want to lose you. But by not telling you, I did the exact thing I was so afraid of.”
You took a deep breath, your emotions swirling inside you. “I can’t promise things will go back to the way they were but you’ll have to earn my trust back.”
Rafe stepped closer, his eyes filled with determination. “I’ll earn your trust back. I don’t care how long it takes.”
You felt your resolve crumbling under the weight of his words, but you forced yourself to stay strong. “I can’t do this alone, Rafe. You need to be better. For both of us.”
He nodded, his voice low but firm. “I will. I swear.”
For a long moment, the silence between you stretched on, thick with tension. Then, without thinking, you reached up and touched his cheek, your thumb brushing lightly over his skin.
Rafe exhaled sharply, his eyes closing as he leaned into your touch. “I’m sorry,” he whispered, his voice cracking slightly.
And in that moment, something inside you softened. Maybe it wasn’t forgiveness yet, but it was a step in the right direction.
Without saying another word, you leaned up and kissed him. The kiss was slow, tentative at first, but it quickly deepened, the fire between you rekindling in an instant. Rafe’s hands gripped your waist, pulling you closer as he kissed you back with a hunger that sent shivers down your spine.
You didn’t pull away this time. You let yourself get lost in him, in the way his body pressed against yours, in the way his hands moved over you like he was afraid to let go. It was desperate and raw, but it was also real.
Rafe’s hands slipped under your shirt, his touch warm against your skin as his fingers trailed up your sides, igniting a spark that had been simmering beneath the surface for far too long. You gasped softly into his mouth, your hands gripping the front of his shirt as he pressed his body against yours, backing you up against the wall.
“Y/N…” he breathed against your lips, his voice low and rough, filled with desire.
You met his gaze, your heart pounding in your chest as you whispered back, “I’m still mad at you.”
Rafe’s eyes darkened, his lips ghosting over your neck as he whispered, “I know.”
But in that moment, the anger between you faded, replaced by something else—something neither of you could deny any longer. His lips found yours again, harder this time, more demanding, as he lifted you effortlessly, your legs wrapping around his waist. You felt the heat between you growing, the connection too strong to ignore.
Rafe carried you to the bed, his movements slow and deliberate as he laid you down, hovering over you with that same intense look in his eyes. “Let me show you how sorry I am,” he whispered, his voice thick with need.
Your breath caught in your throat as his lips trailed down your neck, his hands sliding lower, gripping your thighs as he tugged at your clothes. You arched into his touch, your body responding to every move, every kiss, as he worshiped you with an intensity that left you breathless.
It wasn’t just about the physical connection. It was about the emotions between you—the trust that had been broken, the anger that still lingered, but also the undeniable love and passion that couldn’t be ignored.
As Rafe’s body moved against yours, as his hands roamed over every inch of your skin, you felt the walls between you begin to crumble. The anger, the hurt—it was all still there, but so was the need. The desire. The love.
You gasped as he pressed deeper into you, his forehead resting against yours as he whispered your name, his voice raw and filled with emotion. “I’ll make it right, Y/N. I swear.”
You didn’t have the words to respond. Instead, you kissed him, pouring everything into that kiss—the frustration, the anger, the love, and the hope that maybe, just maybe, things could be different.
That day just you and Rafe moved together in a rhythm that felt both familiar and new, you realized that maybe—just maybe—maybe it was a new beginning.

A Taste of Heaven
18+ 1.3k homelander x afab reader, no pronouns. breast play/sucking, pet names, coming untouched. written for this ask from @chubbunnyy 🖤
Homelander just can't help himself. He's addicted to you.
It starts with Homelander's head in your lap, face tilted away from you as the two of you watch a movie together. He's barely paying attention to it, eyes half-lidded, every blink a little slower. The sound of your nails scraping deliciously along his scalp has long since drowned out the drone of the television.
It doesn't take much longer for his waning attention to fall solely on you. He brings his head forward to stare up at you, the sight of you bringing a loose, charmed smile to his face. Your attention is still set on the film, lips slightly parted as you watch.
The curve of your breasts is a particularly tantalizing view.
Licking his lips, a pang of arousal shoots through him like a bolt of lightning that settles neatly between his legs, growing into a steady, warm throb.
As if feeling his eyes, you glance down, huffing a soft laugh when you realize he's staring. "What?"
"Nothing," he says, though you clearly don't believe him. As you shouldn't. "Don't mind me. Watch the movie."
Though your eyes narrow with a touch of suspicion, they do drift back to the screen.
Smile turning sly, Homelander nuzzles into your lap, inhaling deeply. The comfort of your scent—your heat—is unparalleled. With your plush thighs cradling his head, he brings his ungloved hand up over his shoulder, hooking his fingers into the space between your thighs, his index finger pressing in against your cunt through the layers of your clothes.
He gives your thigh a squeeze before he starts to rub back and forth. Although you resiliently keep your eyes trained on the movie, he can sense your excitement in the shifting cadence of your breath. Hear it in the skip of your heart. Feel it in the steady way your body warms, blood rushing to flush your skin.
His cock begins to fill out, the signs of your arousal sending his own into overdrive.
The way you pretend not to notice makes it feel like a game, like he's doing something he shouldn't, turning these otherwise understated, intimate touches between lovers into an exciting taboo.
Running his tongue along his teeth, he pushes further on your restraint by moving his hand to the hem of your shirt, toying with it a moment before bypassing it entirely. The backs of his knuckles slide up your torso, sensitive enough to feel the goosebumps prickling your skin as he does.
Your fingers have gone still in his hair, which tells him that—regardless of where you're looking—every ounce of your attention is fixated on his touch.
Perfect.
Reaching further, he cups the underside of your breast through your bra. He uses his thumb to rub slow circles until he coaxes your nipple into a solid peak. He squeezes, wringing a rough little exhale from you that goes directly to his fully hardened cock.
He bites back a groan, shifting subtly. The leaking head of his cock presses up into the curve of his cup, the miniscule amount of friction more than enough to rattle him while he's so intensely fixated on you.
The longer he works you with his warm palm, the hotter you get. The shallower your breaths become. Watching the effect he has on you is intoxicating, as is the way you try to resist him in this unspoken game.
He's half tempted to ask if you're enjoying the movie—despite knowing full well that you're not absorbing a single word of it—but he doesn't want to risk breaking the captivating spell his touch has over you.
Greedy for more, he catches the middle portion of your bra between his fingers and deftly snaps the fabric, freeing your breasts, which startles an inhaled little noise from you.
Every sound you make feels heightened, more delicious and hard-earned than the last. Eager to pull more of them from you, to satiate his own burning hunger for you, he withdraws his hand and hooks his fingers under the hem of your sweater, shifting it up until he can finally see the naked curve of your breast, nipple swollen from his teasing.
It makes his entire body throb.
Mouth watering, he swallows the hard lump of anticipation in his throat and parts his lips, shifting close enough to take your breast into his mouth, moaning into the soft pillowy feel of it.
Your fingers tighten in his hair, coaxing another muffled keen from him. The build to this moment has worked him up to the point where he's rocking his hips against nothing, seeking relief for the desperate ache of his leaking cock while his tongue swirls hungrily over your nipple, cheeks hollowing slightly when he sucks.
"Mmm, fuck," you breathe, composure shattering against the wet, hot pull of his mouth. You drag your nails all the way down to the back of his neck before taking another firm handhold of his hair, cradling him to your chest.
His eyes flicker halfway open, lids heavy, eyes glazed over. He nudges in against your breast in a half-hearted nuzzle, alternating between swipes of his tongue and sucking, swallowing as if he's drinking you down, and not just his own wet mess. You start to murmur mindless little nothings, encouraging him, your own eyelids flickering.
The praises falling from your lips wash over him like sunlight, adding to the feverish heat building under his suit. He's thrusting more shamelessly now, one boot planted firmly on the ground, the other propped up on the couch.
You're watching him, all former pretenses dropped. Your eyes are blown black, your own pleasure etched into every line of your face. You taste incredible, sweet and slightly salty on his tongue. He's certain he'll never be over the novelty of you, of this body and heart of yours that you give to him without hesitation.
Mine.
He pants softly through his nose, wishing you'd touch him, slip your hands into his pants and jerk his aching cock.
Anything to relieve the mounting pressure.
Instead, your other hand cups the side of his face, thumb stroking his cheek. "That's good," you coo, making his rhythm stutter. "You feel so good."
His brows pinch tightly together, eyes screwing shut. Like a mind reader, you manage to press every one of his buttons. His thrusts grow jagged, his breaths turning into soft whines as he chases the climax building between his thighs, his entire body practically vibrating with it.
He comes with a muffled cry, his legs lifting clean off the couch with it. He might drift away entirely if not for the way you hold him through it, moaning your own pleasure so very sweetly as he comes untouched in his pants, worked into an absolute frenzy by the feel, taste and smell of you.
Wave after wave of pleasure rolls through him, turning his vision red hot. He keeps his eyes tightly shut, still and silent until he has breath enough to gasp wetly, finally releasing you from the molten heat of his mouth.
Gravity returns gradually and his lower half drifts bonelessly back down onto the couch, his iron-wrought muscles reduced to the structural integrity of jello. Still cradling the back of his head, you bend down. He weakly pushes up into the kiss you press to his forehead. His lids are heavy as you stroke his hair, his face, soothing him through the aftershocks of his release.
Once enough of his senses return, he opens his eyes, smiling lazily up at you. Only then does he become aware of the movie credits playing in the background.
"Good movie?" He asks, a slight slur to his words.
You laugh. The sound of it is more divine than any gospel.
"My new favorite, I think."
His smile widens, the taste of your skin lingering on his tongue.
It tastes like heaven.

Hooked On A Feeling
Chapter Fifteen - Olivia's Better Birthday
Daniel is a Formula One driver, but, more importantly, he was a single dad to a wonderful little girl. He wants her to be a normal little girl, to have a normal social life, so he sends her to daycare. That was where she met Milo, her future best friend.
Milo's mother was incredibly stressed. She worked so hard to provide a good life for her son. But then he makes a new friend, a friend who has a hot dad (ofc they fall in love)

Daniels backyard was transformed. It was every little girls dream. There was a huge banner tied to the fence which read 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY BADGER' in big bubbly letters.
Daniel had everything. There were two ponies in the corner, giving kids rides across the garden. There was a bouncy castle, a ball pit, one of those inflatable slides, every kind of food you could imagine and balloons everywhere.
"Wow," Y/N gasped as she put Milo on the floor. He immediately took off, running towards Olivia.
"You made it!" Called Daniel as he strode towards her, arms out stretched.
She fell into them. "I wouldn't miss it for the world," she said as Daniel squeezed her.
"Come on," he said as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the house. Y/N looked around for Milo as she allowed herself to be pulled along, but he was too busy playing with Olivia.
Daniel pulled her into the kitchen. On top of the kitchen counter was a wide yet not very tall box. Unable to keep the grin from his face, Daniel pulled open the box, revealing Olivia's birthday cake. "Holy shit," she couldn't stop herself from whispering as she looked at the cake.
It was a Red Bull F1 car, that much was clear. It had the normal sponsors and a red number six on it. Smaller sponsors were things like Olivia's name and 'Olivia's sixth birthday' in small, golden writing. Inside of the F1 car, in the drivers seat, was a badger.
Y/N looked at Daniel. "She's gonna love it," she said as he placed the lid back onto the box, keeping it safe.
"This might be my proudest moment as a dad," he said and walked with her back out to the garden. "Now that you guys are here, we can actually start," he said as he opened the door for her.
"You waited for us?" She asked, unable to stop smiling. "You really didn't have to."
"Oh, I did," Daniel said. He led her to the other adults in the garden and abandoned her to go and stand in front of everybody. He clapped his hands and most eyes turned to him. "Hi everybody," Daniel called, his voice booming across the garden. "Thank you all for coming to Olivia's birthday party. We have games and pony rides and feel free to help yourselves to drinks. Parents we have drinks in the kitchen," he said and stepped away.
He made his way back over to the parents and joined Y/N at her side. "Can I get you something to drink?" He offered her.
"Danny, I need to drive Milo and I home," she said as he placed his arms around her.
But he shook his head. "Stay here with me," he said. "Milo and Olivia can have a sleepover and you and I can have a sleepover," he said quietly.
That was just a little too tempting. "One, just one," she said to him and Daniel disappeared back into the house.
Y/N looked around at the other parents and adults. Most of them she recognised from the daycare car park, some of them she recognised as Daniel's friend. "Hey!" Somebody called as they walked towards her. "Y/N, right?"
It took her a moment to recognise who was talking to her. "Hey Max!" She called as they greeted each other with a friendly, welcoming hug. "How have you been?"
When Daniel came out of the kitchen with drinks for him and Y/N in hand, she was talking to Max, who was introducing her to those she hadn't met yet. Almost all of the grid was there, introducing themselves and chatting animatedly. The only one missing was Charles, but Olivia was forcing him down the slide with her.
Lando spotted Daniel. He grinned at him and Y/N turned around. "Thank you, Danny," she said and took the drink from him. Daniel immediately put his arms over her shoulders pulling her into him as they continued to chat with his friends.
The other drivers smirked at each other. They already looked like a couple, and they all knew it wouldn't be long until were one.
A few hours into the party, it was time to bring out the cake. Max held Olivia on his hip as Daniel brought out the cake. "Uncle Max it looks like your car!" She called while everybody sang happy birthday to her.
She blew out the candles on the cake and a few of the drivers, including Daniel, formed an assembly line to get a piece of cake to everybody. Whatever was left over went into party bags, with Daniel leaving a wheel aside.
Music played and the kids danced around. Parents still stood and chatted, but Y/N and Daniel were behind them, gently swaying. Nobody could see them, they thought. But they wouldn't have cared if they could.
"Olivia made this playlist," Daniel said, Y/N tucked against his chest as a song from a disney movie came to an end. "She pretty much planned this entire party."
She looked up, not moving her head from his chest. "She's done brilliantly," she said as she looked around. It really was a spectacular party. She only wished she could give Milo something this grand.
Suddenly, a Taylor Swift song began playing. Y/N's eyebrows were furrowed as she looked up at a grinning Daniel. "This one isn't Olivia's music, is it?"
Daniel couldn't stop himself from laughing as he and Y/N began moving faster. "I'm a swifty," he confessed and Y/N just laughed with him.
"So, if I was in a room with Taylor, who are you choosing?" She asked, but the grin on her face showed she wasn't serious.
Daniel grabbed a hold of her chin and tipped her face towards his. "You every time," he said and kissed her.
After the cake the party was only an hour longer. He passed party bags out to parents as they grabbed their kids and started making their way out.
Y/N began clearing things up as Daniel said goodbye to everyone. He took a little bit longer saying goodbye to his fellow drivers, who wanted a moment to ask about Y/N. But he waved them off, wanting them to leave so he could have time with her.
As the slide, bouncy castle and ball pit were packed up, the ponies were put back into the trailer. Before the owner put them away, he gave Milo and Olivia a treat each to give to the horses. They were squealing as they walked away.
Once she had picked up as much rubbish as she could, Y/N started salvaging what food was leftover. She brought it into the kitchen as Daniel brought Milo and Olivia inside.
As soon as the party was cleaned up Y/N and Daniel worked on getting the kids ready for bed. Milo wore the clothes he had from the last time he had slept over. Olivia still wore her birthday crown once she was ready for bed.
But they didn't go to bed right away. Putting a few snacks from the party into a bowl, Y/N and Daniel sat with in the living room with the kids. Olivia and Milo shared the food, eyes fixed on the television, as Y/N cuddled up to Daniel.
"Today was amazing," she whispered as she laid against his chest. "You're a brilliant dad."
Daniel kissed the top of her head.
As soon as the movie was finished, they got the kids up to bed. Y/N kissed the top of Milo's head and tucked him in. He and Olivia were exhausted after the party. They were so happy, but so exhausted. "Momma," Milo said through a yawn. "Do you think I can have a party like Olivia's?"
Y/N stroked through Milo's hair. "I'll try, Munchkin," she whispered. They said a final good night and Y/N walked out of the room, leaving him to get some sleep.
She showered and got changed into the oversized shirt Daniel had provided for her. When she was done she returned to Daniels bedroom, where he was already ready for bed. She grinned as she wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek. "We haven't even had our third date yet. Are you sure this is appropriate?"
Daniel pretended to think about it. His hand was on her arm, finding any excuse to touch her. "Want to debate it over cake?"
That was how they found themselves in the kitchen, once again sat on the floor as they shared the circular piece of cake between them. "It's a soft tyre," Daniel explained as Y/N dug her fork into the black fondant. "You can tell by the red on it," he said.
Y/N licked her fork. "So what does a soft tyre mean?" She asked, and Daniel was only too happy to explain.

freedom ~ oberyn martell;game of thrones
part one
word count: 2608
request?: a single person asked if there would be a part two so yes?
description: in which she finally gets to enjoy her freedom with the man she loves
pairing: oberyn martell x female!reader
warnings: swearing, use of y/n, lil bit of dirty talk from oberyn teehee
masterlist (one, two, three)
The sun shining in through the open window stirred her from her sleep. She wasn't sure what time it was, but judging by how groggy she felt, she had definitely been asleep for a very long time. It was the first night since the evening before Joffrey's wedding that she had slept in an actual bed.
(Y/N) and Oberyn's plan had gone way better than she was expecting. She did as Oberyn told her and packed one bag of her most essential things. Oberyn had one of his men take it to the carriage so that non of Cersei's servants would catch (Y/N) doing it. She sat through the ceremony with the best fake smile pained on her face the entire time. The second the ceremony ended, (Y/N) slipped away while Cersei was distracted and they started their journey back to Dorne immediately.
It was a long journey spanning a number of days. They only stopped to rest a handful of times as Oberyn insisted on going for as long as the horses could stand so the risk of being caught by the Lannister men that Cersei was undoubtably going to send after them. (Y/N) was tense the entire time and wasn't able to relax until they reached Dorne.
Oberyn's brother, Prince Doran, was waiting for them when their carriage arrived. Oberyn had just stepped out when Doran said, "We received a message from King's Landing about the kidnapped Lannister girl."
"I kidnapped no one," Oberyn said. "She came with me willingly because she was being terribly abused by the Queen."
"The former Queen," (Y/N) corrected as she stepped out beside Oberyn. "Now that Joffrey is wed, Cersei is no longer Queen." She turned to Doran and curtsied. "My Lord."
Doran nodded in response. "Lady (Y/N). We hoped my brother wasn't so stupid as to kidnap a Lannister the day of the young kind's wedding."
"What Oberyn says is true. I have come with him of my own free will to escape my sister. She is claiming my capture so that y ou will send me back to her and will punish Oberyn so he cannot come for me again. I do not wish to go back, not ever. I will attest to this myself to my family back in King's Landing if you wish."
Doran looked between the two of them. He took a deep breath and said, "They will come."
"I will speak to them," (Y/N) insisted. "They cannot take me by force."
"They will not take her by force," Oberyn interjected.
Doran nodded. "I pledge my full support to you. I just hope you know what you are doing, brother."
Oberyn had brought her to a room that would be her own for the time being. He had promised her they would share a bed in due time, but he would not do so until they were properly courted. She would have argued further, but she was so tired and her body was aching from the long carriage ride, so all she wanted was to lay down in a soft bed.
Now that she was waking up from such a long slumber, it took a few moment for her to remember where she was. When she did remember, she smiled to herself. She was so giddy with happiness to finally be free and not feel so stuck and trapped in Westeros anymore.
A knock came at the door. She beckoned for them to come in, thinking (or rather hoping) that it was Oberyn. she was surprised when a lady she did not recognize stepped into her room.
"I am sorry for the intrusion, my lady," the woman said, bowing to (Y/N). "My name is Kenziah. I will be your handmaiden. I was told to come prepare you for a meeting in the Prince's throne room."
"Has something happened?" (Y/N) asked.
"Your father arrived early this morning, my lady. He requested a meeting with you and both Princes."
(Y/N) was quick to get out of bed and allow Kenziah to dress her. She tried to keep a brave face as she was led to Prince Doran's throne room. Doran was sat on his own throne while Oberyn was stood next to him. A tall figure was back on to (Y/N) as she walked in, but she didn't need him to turn around to recognize who it was.
Tywin Lannister looked down at his daughter as she entered the room. "My daughter, you have caused quite a disturbance."
"So I have heard," (Y/N) said. "I apologize if I disrupted Joffrey's wedding day. That was not my plan. Truthfully, I did not think Cersei would even notice my absence."
"You severely underestimate your sister then."
(Y/N) brushed past her father to stand next to Oberyn. She held her head high as she addressed Tywin, "I know what Cersei has tried to say about my disappearance. I am saying to you, father, that I willingly left with Oberyn to come to Dorne. I am not under any sort of duress, and I will not be returning to King's Landing with you."
Tywin raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" (Y/N) nodded. "King Joffrey could order for your return."
"He would have to come take her himself," Doran cut in. "But he would have to go through the Dorne army."
"Are you threatening the king?" Tywin asked.
"No, I am protecting one of my own."
(Y/N) glanced between Tywin and Doran. Oberyn was silent beside her, but he had moved closer, protectively. For the first time in her life, (Y/N) actually felt cared for and safe.
Tywin's gaze moved to his daughter. "Is this truly your wish, my child? To stay in Dorne with the young prince?"
"I cannot go back to that palace, father. It was my prison, and I have finally escaped from it. I will not return to King's Landing willingly, and if you try to force me, I will fight back to the best of my abilities."
Tywin nodded. "I cannot force you to do anything against your will, (Y/N)."
"Will you tell Cersei that?"
To her surprise, Tywin nodded again. "If this is what you truly want, then no one else shall bother you while you're here."
(Y/N) bowed her head. "Thank you father."
Tywin paused a moment as he started to leave. (Y/N) wondered if he would say anything more. But he merely nodded to Doran and Oberyn before turning to leave the room. When he was gone, (Y/N) finally allowed her body to relax. Oberyn took her into his arms and kissed the top of her head.
"You are officially free, little lion."
~~~~~~
(Y/N) was sat in front of a mirror as Kenziah braided her hair. It had been a full day since she had arrived and she was already feeling more at home than she ever had in King's Landing. Oberyn had sent Dornish clothes for her to wear, and she was currently wearing one that was a similar color to the robe Oberyn had been wearing when they first met.
Now that she had been able to properly settle in after their long journey and Twyin's visit, Oberyn had called for (Y/N) to meet him outside of Water Gardens, their palace. She had a feeling she knew what this meeting was about, and the thought alone made her very giddy.
"You are trembling, my lady," Kenziah said. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, Kenziah, thank you," (Y/N) said. "I am just feeling nervous to see Oberyn is all."
"Nervous? But you seemed very fond of him before."
"I am fond of him! I guess nervous may be the wrong word. I feel a number of things about seeing him, because I know he will likely ask me to be his wife today. He said when we returned to Dorne that he would court me and make me his wife."
Kenziah smiled. "He does seem to feel very strongly for you, my lady. I see the way he looks at you."
(Y/N) smiled to herself as well. She had noticed the ways in which Oberyn looked at her, and every time it made her melt a little. She had never felt so infatuated with anyone before. The thought of being so close to him asking her to marry him made her insides feel fuzzy and warm.
When Kenziah finished braiding her hair, she placed a few flowers in the braids. "There, all finished."
(Y/N) moved to look at her hair in the mirror. She was almost surprised by the reflection looking back at her. She looked so beautiful, and she felt it, too. It was almost as if she was meant to be in Dorne, she just had to find a way to get there.
"Thank you, Kenziah," she said.
"You're welcome, my lady."
When she was sure she was ready, Kenziah brought (Y/N) to where Oberyn was waiting for her. He looked just as handsome as ever, almost glowing under the Dornish sun as he looked out at a pond below them. When she approached, he turned to her and smiled.
"You look beautiful, my little lion," he said. He took her hand in his and raised it to his lips, pressing a light kiss on her knuckles. It sent a spark through her entire body and made her hand feel like it was tingling.
"Thank you," she said. "I really love the clothes you sent for me. Dorian wear is so much nicer than what I had back in the palace."
"It suits you better, too. Like you were meant to wear it."
(Y/N) was smiling so much her cheeks were hurting. Oberyn beckoned for her to come closer. She did, moving as close to him as she could dare. She gasped when he put his hands on her hips and moved her so that she was stood right in front of him. His body was pressing against her backside, and she felt like she was weak in the knees from the feeling.
"I wanted to show you what I was looking at," he told her, his mouth dangerously close to her ear. He pointed towards the pond. "Just down there."
She was having a hard time concentrating on what it was he was trying to show her. His closeness was making her very dizzy. But she tried her best and managed to make her eyes focus on the pond. It was full of children, splashing around and laughing. She wasn't quite sure what he was trying to show her, until she spotted a familiar young girl with a head full of blonde hair.
She gasped. "Myrcella."
Myrcella was Cersei's middle child, and only daughter. Cersei adored Myrcella more than (Y/N) had seen her adore anyone in her life. When she had been sent away to Dorne to be a bride to Doran's son, Trystane, Cersei was practically inconsolable. It was the only time (Y/N) had ever seen weakness from her sister.
But Myrcella was also much different than her mother, or her older brother for that matter. She had a heart of gold and she cared very much for the people around her. That included (Y/N), much to Cersei's displeasure. (Y/N) loved her niece dearly. She had almost abandoned hope of ever seeing her again.
"She has been taken care of here," Oberyn assured (Y/N). "We will wait until she and my nephew come of age before they wed. Until then, she gets to live the life of a child."
"Why are you telling me this?" (Y/N) asked. While she was definitely glad to see her niece, this was not where she expected this conversation to go.
"She spoke very highly of you. Ever since she arrived, she has voiced how much she has missed her mother and her aunt. I can tell she is not like her mother, so I figured seeing her would be a welcome surprise."
With his hands still on her waist, Oberyn spun (Y/N) around so that she was facing him. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Their bodies were still pressed so close together. (Y/N) found herself feeling something she had never felt before; a tingling sensation between her legs. Looking up into Oberyn's eyes, she wanted nothing more than to start kissing him, and to beg for him to touch her and make the feeling go away.
She had a feeling that he would know exactly how to pleasure her, and that thought made her feel even more weak.
"I want you to be happy here," he told her.
"I am happy," she assured him. "As long as I am with you, I can't be happier. You have saved me, Oberyn. Truly."
He smiled. "And I am glad that I have."
When he lowered his head towards her, (Y/N) wasted no time in closing the space between them. She kissed him so deeply that she made herself dizzy by doing it. His hands had moved from her waist to the small of her back, holding her to him. She could've stayed like this forever if that were possible.
When he broke away, she inadvertently let out a whine. He chuckled at her desperate sound. "I will kiss you as much as you wish, my little lion. But first, I do have a promise to keep."
He stepped away from her. Her body suddenly felt cold without him so close. He held her hands in his and looked deeply into her eyes as he spoke, "I told you that when we arrived to Dorne, I would properly court you and wed you. I believe I have successfully courted you already, so that just leaves us with one last step."
"Yes," (Y/N) blurted. Oberyn was amused by her outburst. "If it was not obvious, I very much want to marry you, Oberyn."
"I had a feeling," he teased. "I spoke with my brother already to get his blessing as well. We will have the wedding in a few days time."
"Can we do it now instead?"
Oberyn shook his head, an amused smile on his face. "My dear, sweet little lion. You must have patience. You must know what it takes to put a wedding together, especially one for people of royal blood such as us. Besides, I do not think you should wish to rush into marriage this quickly."
(Y/N) furrowed her brows at him. "Why?"
He stepped closer to her again. He leaned into her ear and dropped his voice to say, "Because once we are wed, I no longer have to worry about defiling your innocence. I may keep you in my bed for many days and nights before I decide to let you have a break from me, and even then I may only decide that because you are carrying my child."
(Y/N) stumbled a little and Oberyn was quick to catch her.
"You are mistaken, my love," she told him. "That only makes me wish for us to be married much sooner."
Oberyn cupped her face and pulled her for a kiss.
"I promise, my little lion, I will make the wait worth it," he said. "For now, you will just have to settle for stolen kisses."
"I will take anything as long as it is from you."
They kissed once more, and (Y/N) finally got to revel in the fact that she was finally getting her own happy ending.
Game, Set, Match - B.T.S
You stood on the court, the crowd's roar fading into a distant hum as you focused on the match ahead. A small smile played on your lips, and your eyes narrowed in determination. The bright sun overhead felt like a spotlight, buzzing on your skin, illuminating your every move and sharpening each muscle in your body. You were a force to be reckoned with — both polarising and captivating, your quick wit and cheeky banter stirred strong opinions. With a playful shrug and a blown kiss to the crowd, you dismissed the critics, your confidence as effortless as your serves.
Years of competing in Junior Opens had forged your resilience, and now you have been stepping into the world of professional tennis, where the stakes were higher and opponents fiercer. You had navigated this transition well over the past few years, finding your rhythm amidst the pressure, your footing steady on the path to greatness. The attention came quick too, especially with names like Nike wanting you to be an ambassador, and all sorts of products wanting you to be the face of the company, from protein powders to headphones - it was endless. The taste of victory was sweet and addictive, each match bringing you closer to the big prizes and recognition you had longed for. But just when you thought you had everything figured out, a whisper of uncertainty began to tug at the edges of your focus... not a what, but more a who?
In the past year and a half, life on tour has shifted for you in a whole different gear. Don't get it twisted, tennis remained top priority, but there was an undeniable spark that made the grind far more enjoyable and unpredictable, and that spark was no other than Ben Shelton. You first noticed him from afar, where casual nods turned into lingering glances that made the hair on your skin stand. With his raw power, boyish grin, and confidence that radiated from him, "Big Ben" was impossible to ignore. But it was during the Australian Open earlier this year that things between you really began to heat up.
Ben was anything but subtle. Once he set his sights on you, his flirting was relentless. You couldn’t help but feel flattered; it was hard not to get hooked to that buzz. After all, it wasn’t every day that a guy like him, full of charm and a teasing smile paid you so much attention. Others had thrown glances your way and offered compliments, but Ben? He stepped up his game like no one else.
Your first interaction was at a practice session where Ben sat by in the empty stands, right up by the court, arms folded and a smirk on his face. You could feel his gaze following you, his presence hard to shake off, not that you wanted to. As you finish another practice set, you heave, closing your fist to celebrate, and walk over to your bag, glancing up as his eyes light up as you catch his.
“You’re looking decent out there,” he teased, leaning over the railing, his voice laced with a challenge.
You stopped, placing a hand on your hip as you shot him a smirk, squinting up at him as you caught your breath. “Decent? It’s okay, I get it, it must be tough admitting I’m shaping up better than you.”
He laughed, stepping closer, his eyes never leaving yours. “Better? That’s a stretch, Y/N. But I’ll let you keep thinking that.”
You shrugged, a teasing grin playing on your lips. “Believe it or not, it’s happening, Ben,” you winked before slinging your bag over your shoulder and heading toward the tunnel. His chuckle followed you as you disappeared from sight.
The banter didn’t end there, though. Throughout the tournament, you could feel his eyes on you, watching during your matches. On TikTok, he left comments that had both your fans and his buzzing. One day after you posted a training video, he had commented: “You sure you’re training for tennis and not modeling?”
You grinned, tapping out a reply. “I’m great at multitasking. What’s your excuse?”
His response was instant. “Just waiting for you to finally give me a real challenge.”
Comments turned into small conversations as you passed by each other, where you’d joke and flirt like it was the most natural thing in the world. His relentless teasing was addictive.
It cooled off slightly to just a couple of liked stories and posts until Wimbledon had rolled around. By this point, the stakes felt higher. You were in top form, but off the court, the media seemed just as interested in your interactions than your matches. And it didn't end there either, it wasn't long before other peers started piqueing interest. For example, Carlos? He wasn’t subtle either.
After a long match, you were relaxing in the players’ lounge when Carlos wandered over, his smile too bright to ignore. He leaned against the table beside you, casually close.
“You were on fire out there today. Maybe we should hit the practice courts sometime,” he suggested with a casual grin.
You tilted your head, a playful glint in your eyes. “Careful, Carlos. I wouldn’t want to embarrass you in front of your fans.”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “I’ll risk it. Besides, we’re both Nike athletes, we’ve got to stick together.”
Before you could reply, Ben Shelton walked into the room, his gaze locking onto you and Carlos immediately. His smile didn’t falter, but the way he sized up the interaction was hard to miss. He strolled over, hands in his pockets, exuding calm confidence.
“Carlitos,” Ben greeted, his tone casual, though the unspoken tension hung between the lines. “What’s this? Making future practice plans?”
Carlos shot Ben a quick glance, still smiling but aware of the shift. “Just talking about tennis, you know,” he said lightly. “Gotta keep sharp.”
Ben’s eyes flicked between you and Carlos before landing squarely on you. “I’m sure you can manage without help. She’s been getting a lot of attention lately, let her breathe.”
Carlos gave you a light tap on the arm before backing off, offering a polite nod. “Catch you later, Y/N.”
You waved him off with a smile. “See you around, Carlos.”
Once Carlos was out of earshot, Ben shifted a little closer, though still maintaining that casual air. “You’ve got him interested,” he commented, his voice dropping lower.
You looked up at him through your lashes, the corner of your mouth lifting into a sly grin. “What, jealous, Shelton?”
Ben’s grin spread wider, but his tone remained easygoing. “Nah, just keeping tabs. Making sure I’m not falling behind.”
You stood up slowly, meeting his gaze as you adjusted your posture, your eyes glinting with mischief. “I don’t mix business and pleasure, Ben. We’re both Nike—gotta keep it professional.”
He chuckled, tilting his head. “So, you’re saying you’re all business?”
You turned to face him fully, taking a step closer, your voice dropping to a teasing whisper. “Oh, not always. But you’ll have to keep up to find out.”
With that, you brushed past him, leaving a lingering tension in the air. His eyes followed you as you walked away, and you could practically feel his grin growing. The banter was always playful, but now, with each exchange, the stakes seemed to rise; the unspoken understanding was clear: the game was very much on.
As the summer heat intensified, so did the buzz around Nike’s newest campaign. Your latest photoshoot was all about capturing both your athleticism and your bold personality. In a blue baby tee top with a heart-shaped keyhole and a matching skort, you struck poses that screamed confidence, captioned simply: "Ready?"
The comments rolled in quickly, and it didn’t take long before Ben made his appearance.
It didn’t take long for the comments to roll in. And as expected, Ben was quick to chime in.
benshelton:
"You call that ready? Looks more like you’re just warming up."
You chuckled, tapping your response.
Y/N.Y/LN:
"Warming up is all I need to beat you, Shelton."
benshelton:
"Beat me? Let's not get ahead of ourselves... You'd need more than a warm-up for that."
The banter was familiar, yet it always left you with a smirk. You leaned into the challenge.
Y/N.Y/LN:
"Careful, or I might just take that as a challenge."
benshelton:
"I play to win."
The playful back-and-forth didn’t go unnoticed by your fans, but it was clear this game of teasing wasn’t just for show. It must've been a week before it escalated further. You hsd landed a major Victoria’s Secret campaign, and it was unlike anything you had done before. They flew you out to Paris and guided you through the whole thing. The theme was dark and seductive—a fallen angel vibe. Lingerie, lace, and the kind of allure that left little to the imagination. You felt powerful, but also aware of how this would get attention—not just from the public, but from Ben.
You posted one of the shots late that night. The lighting was dramatic, casting soft shadows across your body as you reclined in lace.
The caption was simple yet suggestive: "Best kept secret. VS Summer 2024 Fallen Angel Collection, from me to you."
Naturally, Ben couldn’t resist commenting.
benshelton: Fallen angel, huh? Guess that means you’re trouble.
You rolled your eyes, suppressing a smile as you typed out your reply.
Y/N.Y/LN:: I thought you liked trouble.
It was no surprise when he slid into your DMs right after that.
benshelton: "I do. But you're playing a dangerous game."
You bit your lip, leaning back against your hotel bed. It was late, and the quiet Paris night settled around you, but your heart raced.
Y/N.Y/LN: " A game? Who said I’m playing? "
benshelton: "You might not be playing, but you're already winning."
You hesitated for a moment, then smirked as you typed out your next message.
Y/N.Y/LN: "And here I thought you said you could keep up."
Almost immediately, your phone buzzed again. This time, it wasn’t another text. It was a FaceTime call. You let it ring for a beat or two, your pulse quickening, before answering.
Ben’s face appeared on your screen, his hair slightly damp and his grin all too familiar. "You really know how to mess with a guy’s head, you know that?"
You smiled, pulling your covers up over you and leaning into the pillow. "What’s got you all worked up? It’s just a campaign."
He scoffed, running a hand through his hair. "Just a campaign? C’mon, you know exactly what you’re doing."
You blinked up at him, teasing. "And what is it that I am doing, Ben?"
His grin widened, but there was a glint in his eyes. "You’re pushing my limits. You're tempting me"
You chuckled, biting your lip as you let his words settle over you. "Tempting? Now that’s an accusation if I ever heard one. Maybe you're just easy to push."
Ben raised an eyebrow, viting a smile back as well. "Maybe I am. But you better be careful, or you might get burned."
The heat in his gaze made your heart skip, but you kept your tone light. "I think I can handle the heat."
Ben’s smile deepened. "That’s what I’m counting on."
You stared at each other through the screen, the tension palpable even across the distance.
Finally, you smirked, pulling the covers higher. "Goodnight, Shelton."
He sighed, but his grin didn’t falter. "Goodnight, angel. Sweet dreams."
From there, the texts seemed to pour out. Every random moment, one of you would reply to a post or find some excuse to message or call, any reason to interact. You had a secret surprise up your sleeve which you knew would practically bring Ben to his knees for you if he wasn't there already, and it had something to do with a custom dress for a red carpet.
It was a hot July night in Spain, the night draped itself around you like a warm embrace, the energy of the red carpet charity event still pulsing in the air. Your dress—a stunning, sheer, sand-colored creation—clung to your body in all the right places, slit at the thigh, your hair pinned back, accentuating your glossy, sheen skin on your neck down your shoulders. The dress shimmered under the streetlights, leaving just enough to the imagination, but not too much.
Photos were posted by your team, "behind the scene" shots and red carpet poses. The cameras had devoured every moment, the attention was full on and the night buzzed well. You reveled in the limelight and felt like a true celebrity for the night but, as the evening wore on, you began to feel drained from all the social interactions and wished you could just be alone with your phone, texting the one man who truly kept you on your toes.
Finally, as you collapsed into the backseat of your car, exhausted but exhilarated from the night's events, your phone buzzed with a missed call from Ben. The driver glanced back at you through the rearview mirror as you eagerly turned on your phone and smiled to yourself. In that moment, all you wanted was to be alone with Ben and continue this thrilling game of flirtation and surprises. You call him back after a minute passes, butterflies in your stomach fluttering away.
"Couldn't wait, could you?" you teased, giggling as you leaning back against the plush seat. His grin appeared instantly, filling your screen.
"Wait? After that post?" Ben's voice was a mixture of playful frustration and barely concealed admiration. His eyes roamed over your dimly lit image through the screen as though he could see you sitting there in that dress. "You’ve been trying to kill me with these looks for months, but this? This is the final straw."
You laughed softly, pretending to adjust the neckline of your dress as he clearly struggled to keep his composure. "I'm just doing my job. Don’t get too distracted."
Ben shook his head, a grin still lingering on his lips. "Distracted? I’ve been refreshing Instagram like a madman just to catch another angle of you. And from what I saw, I’m not the only one. You’ve got every guy on tour dropping their jaw."
You smirked, rolling your eyes playfully. "You jealous?"
"Jealous? Let’s see. Alcaraz, Ruud… even Tsitsipas liked your post. You know that guy doesn’t just like anything. But trust me, no one’s more jealous than me," Ben teased, his voice dipping lower.
You laughed softly, brushing a hand over your dress as you adjusted the fabric, playing coy. "Ben, there’s only one person I’m trying to get a rise out of—and it’s definitely not them."
His grin widened, eyes gleaming through the screen,scheming away, "Glad to hear that. So...how about you give me something a little more exclusive?Just a sneak peek. Something that’s all mine."
You crossed your legs slowly, feeling the slit in the dress reveal just a bit more skin, and you caught the driver’s eyes flicking up to the rearview mirror. He quickly cleared his throat and looked away.
You smirked, feeling a rush of boldness. "I'm in public, Shelton. What are you suggesting?"
Ben’s eyes glinted with mischief, his grin widening. "Nothing crazy. Just a little something to hold me over."
You raised an eyebrow, leaning back, the sound of the city humming outside as you sighed. You stretched your legs out across the backseat, angling your body to the side, draping yourself across the backseat for a full body shot. The dress shifted, catching the city light while still being dimly lit, showing off your figure perfectly as you lounged effortlessly. "Is this what you had in mind, Ben? A full shot?" you purred, looking up at your phone, your eyes sweet and innocent.
Ben’s jaw tightened, his chest rising as he exhaled sharply. "Damn, Y/N, I knew you'd look good, but this…" He let out a low whistle, leaning closer to the screen, his eyes glinting and a blush creeping up all over. "You’re not playing fair."
You smirked, enjoying the power shift. "Fair? You asked for it, Shelton."
He laughed, but it was strained, the heat in his voice unmistakable. "Yeah, but you know how to take it to another level. Now I'm the one who's going to be distracted all night." His tone softened, a teasing edge returning. "Just one more reason for me to fly out, don't you think?"
"One more reason?" you echoed, playing with the neckline of your dress, a smile teasing your lips. "I think I’ve given you more than enough."
Ben groaned softly, running a hand through his hair, clearly captivated.
" Y/N, you don’t know what I’d do if I was there right now."
Your heart skipped a beat. "Yeah? What would you do?"
"I’d start with that dress," Ben murmured, his eyes never leaving yours through the screen. "Slowly. You know, just enough to tease. Then—"
The driver cleared his throat, and you bit back a laugh. Ben noticed, his eyes narrowing playfully. "Caught?"
"Almost," you whispered, your pulse quickening as you adjusted in your seat, the thrill of being on the edge of danger sending a shiver down your spine. "You’re getting me into trouble."
"Ben’s gaze softened, though his grin stayed. "Me? You’re the one that looks like that." He paused, his voice low and rough. "God, if I could just be there…"
"Careful," you warned, grinning as you looked at him through half-lidded eyes. "You might lose yourself completely."
Ben’s gaze darkened, and his voice dropped even lower. "Maybe I’m okay with losing it when it comes to you."
You bit your lip, heart racing as you shifted in your seat. The driver’s eyes flicked up to the mirror again, and you quickly glanced away, fighting the blush creeping up your neck. “You’re dangerous, Shelton. Keep talking like that, and I might have to mute you.”
“Go ahead. Mute me,” he dared, his voice thick with challenge. “But I bet you won’t.”
You smiled, a small, teasing hum escaping your lips. “Oh, you think I’m scared?”
“I think you like teasing me as much as I like it.” His voice was gravelly now, every word laced with want.
Your breath caught, eyes wide a bit before you were about to respond when the car pulled up to the hotel. The driver got out quickly, opening the door for you. You stepped out, feeling the cool night air wash over your skin as you walked through the lobby, Ben still watching intently through the screen. You could feel his gaze on you as you made your way to the elevator, the tension between you buzzing like electricity.
Once in your room, you tossed your bag onto the bed and sank down onto the mattress. "Alright," you breathed, "I’m back in my room."
Ben’s voice came through the phone, teasing yet low with interest. "So… how’s that dress treating you?"
You grinned at his not-so-subtle curiosity. "It’s treating me well so far," you teased, running a hand over the fabric. You stood up, positioning yourself in front of the mirror.
Slowly, deliberately, you reached behind you to the zipper. "I’ll give you a little preview."
You lowered it just enough for the strapless dress to reveal a sliver of your smooth back, keeping the front of the dress held firmly in place with your other hand. The exposed skin was just enough to tease.
You turned back slightly, catching his reaction through the screen, his eyes locked on you. "You wanted to see, right?" you whispered, mischief clear in your voice.
Ben let out a breathy laugh, clearly amused. "You really know how to keep a guy on edge."
You shot him a playful look over your shoulder, still holding the dress in place. "It’s all about the suspense. You should know that by now."
Ben's gaze flickered, his tone a bit softer. "You’re making it hard to focus."
With a smirk, you turned to face him, still holding the dress tight. "Goodnight, Shelton."
Before he could say another word, you ended the call, tossing your phone onto the bed, feeling satisfied. You knew he wouldn’t forget that little moment anytime soon.
By the time August had rolled around, the tension between you and Ben was impossible to ignore. Months of teasing, playful banter, and phone calls had built into something electric, something undeniable. Now, you were both in New York for the U.S. Open. The final Slam of the year where you'd cross paths for the year, and maybe the final chance for one of you to make a move.
After winning your third-round match, you made your way through the tunnel, your heart still racing from the adrenaline of your win. The buzz of the crowd still rang in your ears, but as you walked toward the tunnel, you heard familiar voices ahead.
Ben, along with Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, stood laughing and talking just a few feet ahead. Their voices echoed in the corridor, their banter unmistakable.
“Bro, it’s embarrassing now,” Frances teased. “You’ve gotta ask her out. She’s into you, we all know it.”
Ben groaned, looking exasperated, dragging his hand over his face. “It’s not that easy. I don’t want to screw it up.”
Taylor chuckled. “Screw it up? Dude, she’s been giving you eyes all week. Just make the move.”
Frances nudged him. “It’s not like she’s hiding it either. The way she teases you, she's a green light.”
You smirked, slowing your pace as you approached. They didn’t notice you yet, too absorbed in their teasing.
Ben sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “I just… I don’t know.”
“They’re right,” you chimed in, finally stepping into view, as you walked by, wiping sweat off your brow, smirking. Their heads snapped toward you, startled. “Take their advice, Benny. It’s 'bout time you did something.”
Ben’s eyes widened as you walked past, your tone light but with an edge of challenge. His friends burst into laughter, both of them slapping Ben on the back, shoving him back and forth.
Frances grinned. “See? Even she's asking you to make a move, man.”
Ben shot him a look, but his gaze lingered on you as you disappeared into the locker room.
Later, after a shower and a change of clothes, you made your way back into the lounge, feeling refreshed but still riding the high of the match. You didn’t expect to run into Ben waiting for you, leaning casually against the wall with his hands in his pockets.
You raised an eyebrow, a slow smirk tugging at your lips. “Stalking me now?”
He pushed off the wall, taking a step toward you, his expression shifting from playful to serious. “No, what-uh, but I... I wanted to catch you before you left.”
“Oh?” You crossed your arms, looking up at him. “What’s up?”
Ben took a breath, looking almost nervous. “About what you said earlier... maybe they’re right. Maybe I have been holding back.”
You cocked your head, feeling your heart quicken at his sudden change in tone. “And?”
“And I think I’m done waiting,” he said, his eyes locking with yours. “Would you want to go out with me? Just us. Dinner, maybe?”
For a moment, the world seemed to be still. Ben, usually so confident and playful, stood before you with a vulnerability that tugged at your heart.
You let the moment hang, letting him sweat just a little before your lips curled into a teasing smile. “About time you asked, Ben.”
His tense shoulders dropped, a grin spreading across his face. “So, is that a yes?”
You let out a small giggle, your voice soft but playful. “Yeah, it’s a yes. Better come like a gentleman though.”
That night, you stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the sweet, soft dress you’d picked out. It was a pale pink dress, fitted at the top with a flowing skirt that flattered your figure perfectly. The neckline was delicate, with thin straps that accentuated your shoulders, and the soft fabric wrapped your waist before cascading down to just above your knees. The dress was sweet and soft, but still undeniably you—playful with a touch of elegance.
You headed down to the hotel lobby, taking a seat as you crossed one leg over the other, checking your socials. At 7pm on the dot, Ben walks in, running a hand through his curls before he sets eyes on you.
Ben stood there in a crisp white button-down shirt, the sleeves slightly rolled up to reveal his strong forearms, accentuating his strong shoulders, paired with dark, well-tailored pants. His curls were just tousled enough to seem like he hadn’t spent hours fixing it, but of course, he had. He looked handsome—maybe even a little nervous.
“You look stunning,” he said, his voice low as his eyes took you in.
You smiled, a soft blush warming your cheeks, as you stood up. “You don’t look so bad yourself.”
He offered you his arm, and you linked yours through his, your fingers brushing over the firm muscles of his bicep as you stepped out into the lobby. There was a quiet buzz between you, the usual playfulness replaced with something softer, more tender.
As you walked to the car, Ben opened the passenger door for you, giving you a gentle smile as you slipped inside. Before he could close the door, you leaned over, reaching for the driver’s side door and popping it open for him.
He chuckled, shaking his head as he got in. “You always keep me on my toes, don’t you?”
You grinned, sitting back in your seat, and pulling your seatbelt over. “Always.”
The ride to the restaurant was comfortable, a soft hum playing through the speakers, "Love is Only a Feeling" by Joey BadA$$, making you smile a bit at his subtle but purposeful details. As the city lights flickered by outside, you felt a sense of calm settle over you. Every so often, your hand would brush against his on the center console until finally, you slipped your fingers into his, holding his hand gently as he drove.
Ben glanced at you, his thumb brushing lightly over the back of your hand. “You seem... different tonight,” he said, his voice soft, almost as if he were trying to figure out the shift in your usual dynamic.
You smiled as you gazed at him. “Different how?”
He hesitated, his grip on your hand tightening just a little. “I don’t know. Less playful. More...”
“Serious?” you finished for him.
He nodded, giving you a small, sheepish grin. “Yeah. I like it, though.”
You let out a soft laugh, leaning your head against the seat. “It’s just nice to finally be doing this.”
When you arrived at the restaurant, a small, candlelit Italian place tucked away in the quieter part of the city, Ben quickly got out and hurried around to open your door again. This time, when you stepped out, you smiled up at him, letting him take your hand. Before you could fully stand, he bent down, bringing your hand to his lips and placing a gentle kiss on your knuckles.
Your heart fluttered at the gesture, the sweetness of it catching you off guard. “Such a gentleman,” you teased, though your voice was softer than usual.
Ben smirked, though there was a hint of nervousness in his eyes. “I’m trying.”
Inside, the restaurant was intimate, with small tables with flickering candles, and soft jazz music playing in the background. Ben led you to a corner table, pulling out your chair before taking his seat across from you. The low hum of other diners provided a cozy backdrop as the two of you settled in.
As you both browsed the menu, you found yourself resting your chin in your hand, watching Ben with a soft smile. He glanced up and caught you staring, a blush creeping up his neck. “What?” he asked, his voice a little breathless.
“Nothing,” you said, your lips curling into a grin. “Just... enjoying this.”
Ben reached across the table, his hand finding yours again. “Me too.”
Dinner was perfect. The pasta was rich, the wine smooth, but what made the evening unforgettable was how easy everything felt between you. Conversation flowed naturally, deeper than it ever had before. You talked about travel plans and places you both dreamed of visiting and shared stories about family traditions—like how your grandmother used to insist on making a very experimental desserts during the holidays, no matter how disastrous it turned out every year.
At one point, you glanced out the window, taking in the soft glow of the city lights before turning back to Ben. “What about you? If you could be anywhere right now… where would it be?”
Ben didn’t hesitate, his eyes locked on yours. “Honestly? Right here. With you.”
You felt warmth rise to your cheeks, your heart skipping at the simplicity of his words. He wasn’t trying to impress you, just telling the truth, and somehow, that made it even more meaningful. You reached across the table again, slipping your hand into his. His fingers intertwined with yours, the gesture now familiar, yet it sent a shiver through you all the same.
“I’m glad you asked me to dinner,” you said quietly, the weight of the night settling around you both.
Ben smiled, his thumb brushing lightly over the back of your hand. “I’m glad you said yes.”
As the night wound down, Ben drove you back to the hotel. The city outside passed by in a blur of lights, but inside the car, everything felt still and comfortable. You held his hand the entire way, feeling the warmth and quiet reassurance of his touch.
When the car pulled up to your hotel, Ben quickly got out, making his way to your side to open the door. You stepped out, and this time, you didn’t let go of his hand. Instead, you turned to him, standing close in the cool night air.
“Thank you for tonight,” you whispered softly, looking up through your lashes.
Ben’s smile was gentle, his eyes warm as they met yours. “Anytime. Thank you for being here, with me.”
Your eyes crinkled as you smiled before you leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek that lingered for a moment. His skin was warm, and you felt him inhale sharply at the unexpected touch. When you pulled back, your heart was racing, but you smiled up at him, feeling the lingering heat between you.
“Goodnight, Ben,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
His gaze lingered on you, and though he smiled, there was a quiet intensity in his eyes. “Goodnight, Y/N.”
You gave his hand one last squeeze before letting go, making your way into the hotel with a soft smile on your lips. You glanced back one last time to see him leaning against his car, a playful wave and your lipstick still visible on his cheek. For once, you weren’t in full control, but somehow, that felt right.
In a world dominated by meticulous moves, it was these quiet moments that grounded you. Now, with someone like Ben by your side, every win, every loss, and every day on the court held more meaning.
Sometimes, the most important victories happened off the court.
The morning air buzzed with excitement as you, Rhea, and a few others milled around the hotel lobby, waiting to head out to the fairgrounds. It was rare to have a day off with no press, no match prep, and nothing but time to unwind and let loose. Rhea, as usual, had taken the reins, organizing a day packed with all the festival essentials: food trucks, rides, and even a hot air balloon finale.
As everyone piled into Rhea’s rental, she threw you a sly look over her shoulder. "Looks like we’re full up here,” she said, barely suppressing a smirk. “But, no worries! Damian’s driving separately. You can just hop in with him.”
A flutter of nerves hit you at the mention of Damian’s name. Sure, you were best friends, but there was that one night months back when you’d told Rhea—after one too many drinks—that Damian was, in your exact words, hot as hell and that, if given the chance, you’d “climb him like a tree.” You’d woken up the next morning in horror, hoping she’d forget the confession altogether. But the glint in her eye now told you she remembered every word, and by the look of things, she had her own plans today.
You swallowed hard, doing your best to keep your face casual. Just a car ride with a friend, you told yourself, ignoring the way your heart picked up pace. You looked around for him, half-hoping you could buy yourself some time, but there he was, rounding the corner, car keys in hand and that easy smile on his face.
“Ready to go?” Damian asked, flashing you a grin.
You tried to keep your cool, but when his gaze lingered a second too long, it was hard to tell if it was just the morning sun or if there was something warmer in his eyes.
“Yep! Let’s go,” you replied, hoping your voice sounded steadier than you felt.
You tossed Rhea a glare over your shoulder, but she just winked, making it painfully clear she knew exactly what she was doing.
As you followed Damian to his car, you couldn’t shake the little knot of nerves twisting in your stomach. God, please don’t let her have said anything to him, you thought, taking a deep breath and reminding yourself that this was still Damian—your best friend. That was all… right?
The drive started off smooth, and with each mile that passed, your initial nerves began to melt away. Damian’s presence always had a calming effect on you, and today was no different.
“Can you believe Rhea?” Damian said, shooting you a grin as he turned onto the main road. “She gets one day off and somehow finds a way to make it as intense as a match night. Gotta respect her energy, though.”
You laughed, settling back in your seat. “She thrives on chaos, I swear. It’s impressive, honestly. I’m just hoping we get a chance to sit down and actually enjoy some food. I’m pretty sure she’s got us lined up to hit every ride in the place.”
Damian chuckled, his deep, warm laugh filling the car. “Oh, no doubt. I wouldn’t put it past her to try and cram us into one of those kiddie rides just to see us squirm.”
You snorted at the mental image of Damian—towering, muscular, and absolutely not designed to fit in a kiddie ride—squeezed next to Rhea, her devilish grin intact as she laughed at his discomfort.
"Honestly, though," Damian continued, glancing over at you with a small smirk, "I’m surprised you’re up for a fair day with all the people. I thought you’d want a chill day off.”
“True,” you admitted, meeting his eyes briefly before looking back out the window. “But the food trucks and rides kind of makeup for it. Plus, it’s… it’s good to spend time with everyone.”
“Yeah. You’re right,” he said quietly, his tone softer than before. He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, thinking. “And I guess if Rhea’s got us all there, it means she can’t get on my case for skipping something. Plus, there’s good food—and we’ll get to see Rhea’s attempt at ‘relaxing,’” he added with a teasing grin.
The drive continued like that, a comfortable back-and-forth of friendly jabs and easy conversation. A thought drifted through your mind as you watched Damian laugh and loosen up, more animated than usual. For all Rhea’s scheming, you had to admit she’d managed to put you both in a rare moment of peace, just the two of you, sharing a small slice of normalcy.
“Maybe she’s onto something with this,” you mused aloud, almost to yourself.
“Hmm?” Damian glanced over.
“Oh, nothing,” you said quickly, feeling a blush creep up your cheeks. “Just—grateful for a chance to relax, I guess.”
He seemed to consider this, a glimmer of something unreadable in his eyes as he nodded. “Yeah. Same here.” And then, with a light laugh that softened the moment, he added, “Even if it means Rhea’s running the show.”
As the car rolled to a stop in the fairgrounds parking lot, you felt a flicker of excitement building. The buzz of the festival was already in the air—music drifting over the hum of people, bright colors, and the smell of fair food. Damian parked and flashed you a grin, opening his door as you gathered your bag and stepped out, feeling his presence close by as the two of you made your way toward the entrance.
The crowd thickened as you neared the gates, a mix of families, groups of friends, and couples swirling together. You were doing your best to dodge elbows and strollers, but one particularly enthusiastic kid darted right in front of you, nearly taking out your knees. Damian reacted instantly, his hand slipping around your waist to steady you.
“Whoa,” he murmured, steadying you with a warm, firm grip. “Didn’t think we’d need wrestling moves to get through the entrance.”
You looked up, finding him a little closer than you expected. The feel of his hand on your waist sent a flutter through your stomach, and for a moment, you both stood there in silence, caught off guard by the closeness. His hand lingered just a second longer before he cleared his throat, his gaze darting to the side as he let go and stepped back slightly.
“You good?” he asked, a slight flush creeping up his cheeks.
“Yeah, yeah—I’m good,” you replied quickly, suddenly aware of how warm your face felt. “Just, uh… hazards of fairgrounds, I guess.”
As you shifted, you caught sight of Rhea just a few paces ahead. She stood there, arms crossed, watching the two of you with a perfectly arched eyebrow and a smirk that spoke volumes.
When you and Damian locked eyes with her, she only shrugged, biting back a grin as she turned and continued walking, pretending she hadn’t seen a thing.
Damian’s gaze flicked back to you, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips. “So… ready for this?”
You laughed, feeling the tension ease a bit. “Ready as I’ll ever be.”
With that, the two of you fell into step, each hyper-aware of the other’s presence as you followed Rhea and the others into the heart of the fair. But you couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted, and the look Damian had given you—just for a second—lingered in your mind longer than it should have.
As the group meandered through the fairgrounds, someone mentioned food, sparking an immediate chorus of agreement. Together, you all veered toward the food truck section, where delicious smells and sizzling sounds drifted through the air, setting your stomach rumbling.
“Alright,” Rhea declared with an almost mischievous grin, “time to do some serious food sampling. And I don’t want to hear anyone say they’re ‘not that hungry.’ This is a fair—appetites mandatory.”
The group dispersed, each person weaving between the trucks, picking up a mix of fried treats, skewers, tacos, and a few questionable “festival specials.”
After a few minutes, you and Damian met back up with Rhea, arms filled with an assortment of snacks. You eyed the collection with a laugh, impressed by the sheer variety.
“Think we got enough?” you asked, shooting a playful look at Damian.
“Maybe,” he replied, holding up a foot-long corn dog with a smirk. “But hey, Rhea said we’re sharing everything.”
As the group gathered around a picnic table, everyone started digging in, passing around baskets of food. It didn’t take long before Rhea nudged you and Damian with a sly grin.
“Hey, you two—try this.” She handed you both a basket of churros dusted with cinnamon sugar. “Don’t be shy, share it.”
You exchanged a glance with Damian, feeling a blush creep up your cheeks as you broke off a piece and handed it to him. As he took it, his fingers brushed against yours, sending a small, unexpected jolt up your arm.
“Thanks,” he said, his voice softer, eyes catching yours for a moment too long before he cleared his throat, focusing intently on the churro like it held the secrets of the universe.
You both went back to sampling, but Rhea wasn’t done. She grinned wickedly, holding up a cup of chili fries. “Alright, Damian, you gotta feed her one of these. Fair food tradition.”
“Oh, is it?” Damian asked, eyebrows raising, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice.
“Definitely,” Rhea replied, not backing down. “You gotta play along.”
Damian shook his head with a chuckle, lifting a fry and holding it up to you, his eyes daring you to play along too. With a laugh, you leaned in, letting him feed you the fry while the group laughed and cheered.
As you settled back into sampling the food with everyone else, you couldn’t help but notice how easily Damian’s laughter blended with yours, each unplanned touch and shared smile making you wonder if maybe, just maybe, Rhea’s matchmaking antics were onto something.
Later in the day, Rhea’s gaze zeroed in on an old-fashioned photo booth nestled between a cotton candy stand and a ring-toss game. Her eyes lit up mischievously, and she nudged you and Damian forward.
“Oh, you two have to do the photo booth,” she said, already steering you both toward it. “It’s basically a requirement at fairs.”
You laughed, glancing at Damian. “Do we have a choice?”
Damian grinned, shrugging. “Not really, apparently.”
The two of you squeezed into the booth, realizing just how cramped it actually was. The narrow bench barely had space for one person, let alone two. You tried hovering beside him, half-seated with one leg awkwardly propped against the side, but it was obvious you still weren’t fitting in the frame.
Damian glanced up at you, a smile tugging at his lips. “This isn’t going to work. Here, just—” He reached up and, with a gentle hand on your waist, guided you down until you were perched right on his thigh.
You felt your cheeks heat up at the unexpected closeness, his hands settling around your waist for balance.
“There we go,” he said, giving a soft laugh as he adjusted to fit both of you in the frame. “Comfortable?”
You nodded, trying to ignore the warmth spreading across your cheeks as the machine counted down to snap the first photo. The screen flashed, and you both instinctively leaned closer, your laughter filling the small space as the camera clicked.
By the time the last shot snapped, you’d both lost any semblance of forced posing, your heads pressed close together, and Damian’s arm wrapped loosely around your waist to keep you steady. When the flash went off for the final picture, he glanced at you with an amused, almost softer expression.
The booth spit out the photo strip, and you both leaned over to look. The first picture captured your awkward attempt to fit, both of you laughing as you tried to squeeze into the frame. But the last one…there was something different. You were both relaxed, his hand resting on your side, your shoulders leaning into him, and both of you grinning like idiots.
Rhea, waiting outside the booth, snatched the photo strip out of Damian’s hands as soon as you stepped out, her eyes dancing as she scanned the shots.
“Well, well,” she teased, “I’d say you two look pretty comfortable in there.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the smile on your face as Damian gave Rhea a playful nudge.
“Alright, alright,” he muttered, laughing. But he caught your gaze for a brief second, and you felt a shared, silent acknowledgment of the moment that had passed between you.
Next Rhea led the group to the Fun House, Rhea’s face lit up with a look that could only mean she had something up her sleeve.
“Alright, here’s the deal—this’ll be way more fun in pairs,” she announced, throwing a wink in your direction. Before you could even react, she nudged you closer to Damian. “Go on, you two. We’ll meet up on the other side!”
Before either of you could protest, the rest of the group had split off into pairs and slipped into the house, leaving you and Damian standing alone by the entrance.
“Guess it’s you and me,” Damian said with a shrug, though the hint of a smile tugged at his lips as he held the door open for you.
Inside, the Fun House was filled with dizzying mirrors, neon lights, and winding hallways that made every step feel like you were walking through a maze. Almost immediately, you and Damian lost sight of the others, the confusing turns and flashing lights making it easy for the two of you to drift deeper into the attraction.
“This place is like a maze,” Damian said, his voice echoing as you both walked down a narrow hallway lined with funhouse mirrors. “Good luck if they’re expecting us out of here anytime soon.”
You laughed, but before you could respond, a loud bang sounded from the wall beside you, and a mechanical figure sprang out, making you yelp and instinctively reach for Damian’s arm.
Damian chuckled, steadying you as he threw an arm around your shoulders. “Hey, don’t worry,” he teased. “I’ll protect you from all the creepy mannequins in here.”
“I appreciate it,” you said, trying to calm your racing heart but smiling despite yourself.
You continued through the winding halls, your laughter echoing off the walls as more jump scares and sudden noises popped up at every corner. The deeper you went, the darker and narrower the passageways became, and with each unexpected scare, you found yourself clinging to Damian’s arm a little longer, the mix of fear and excitement making it hard to let go.
Finally, as you turned another corner, a new scare jumped out—a skeleton puppet lunging from the side with a loud, exaggerated scream. You gasped, grabbing onto Damian and pulling yourself close to him, burying your face in his shoulder. His arm slipped around your waist instinctively, pulling you flush against him.
When you looked up, you found yourself staring into his dark eyes, the closeness and dim light blurring the rest of the world around you. Damian’s hand lingered on your waist, his gaze holding yours a beat longer than necessary. The energy between you felt electric, the laughter and adrenaline still fresh.
For a moment, you both seemed to realize at the same time how close you were, and you pulled back slightly, both of you chuckling as you tried to shake off the moment.
“This is the last time I let Rhea take us to a Fun House,” Damian joked, though his voice was softer, his gaze lingering just a moment more before he looked away.
But you couldn’t ignore the way his arm stayed wrapped around you as you both made your way out of the Fun House, the thrill of the jump scares leaving behind something deeper, a hint of a connection that you’d both felt—and maybe weren’t quite ready to let go of yet.
As soon as you stepped into the ride section of the fair, Rhea was already beaming with that mischievous look that had been her theme for the day. The bright, colorful rides spun and whirled around you, laughter and screams filling the air.
“Alright, who’s up for some classic carnival rides?” Rhea said, eyes twinkling as she glanced between you and Damian. Before you could even decide for yourself, she had her answer ready. “Oh, and you two, obviously, should ride together. You know, for moral support,” she added with a smirk.
Damian raised an eyebrow but shrugged good-naturedly. “Lead the way,” he said, gesturing to the first ride in line, which happened to be the Ferris wheel.
You both climbed into the cramped gondola, the small seat forcing you to squeeze close together. The wheel jolted to life, and as you were lifted into the air, the view over the fairgrounds spread out below. The sounds and colors felt a little more distant and surreal up there, the world condensed into a pocket of stillness where it was just you and Damian.
“Not exactly made for tall people, huh?” you teased, glancing at him as he shifted uncomfortably in the tight space, knees nearly pressed to his chest.
He laughed, glancing down at his long legs, awkwardly folded to fit. “Pretty sure this thing is meant for kids,” he replied, shaking his head. “I could practically lift it off the track if I needed to.”
As you both laughed, the wheel rotated again, giving you both a slight jolt that made you clutch his arm out of reflex. He turned to you, amused, but his hand found yours on his arm and squeezed it gently, giving you a reassuring smile.
When the Ferris wheel finally brought you back to the ground, you moved on to the teacups. As you got into the tiny seat across from Damian, his knees pressed against the side and his arms nearly hit the handles as he tried to situate himself. The sight of him, usually so composed and intimidating, squeezing himself into such a small space was comical, and you couldn’t stop yourself from bursting into laughter.
“Laugh it up,” he said, pretending to glare. “Just wait until I start spinning this thing.”
And he did. He twisted the wheel with surprising force, sending your teacup into a whirlwind of spins. You laughed as you held onto the edges, the two of you dizzy and laughing by the time it finally stopped. It wasn’t until you stepped out of the teacup that you realized you were still holding onto his hand, and he hadn’t let go either.
As you both stumbled out, laughing and catching your breath, Rhea waved at you from the next ride—a small roller coaster barely taller than you. She waggled her eyebrows suggestively, and you felt your cheeks flush, realizing she’d probably noticed every single moment of the chemistry she’d been sparking all day.
Damian cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck as he led you toward the next ride. “I think Rhea’s enjoying this way too much.”
You nodded, a smile creeping across your face. “But, you know… I’m not complaining.”
The group meandered back toward the midway, the sounds of carnival games buzzing around you. Plush toys hung from every booth, their bright colors beckoning players. Damian glanced around at the rows of games and muttered with a slight smirk, “You know, these things are just one big rip-off.”
“Maybe,” you shrugged with a grin. “But I’ve always thought it’d be cute if someone won one of those for me.” You nodded toward a particularly large, soft-looking bear dangling over the ring toss booth. “Unfortunately, none of my exes could ever beat the games,” you added with a playful sigh.
Damian’s smirk faded as he looked between you and the plush bear. “Well, maybe they just didn’t have the right skills,” he said casually, though you didn’t miss the competitive glint in his eyes. As if acting on impulse, he stepped up to the ring toss booth and slapped some money down. “Let’s give it a shot,” he said with a confident shrug.
His first attempt was… less than stellar. The ring flew far too wide and clattered pathetically off the side of the bottles. He rolled his eyes, huffing with a laugh. “All right, that was just a warm-up,” he muttered, mostly to himself.
As he tried again, his jaw set with a new focus, his competitive streak kicking in. He narrowed his gaze, lining up each ring with intense concentration, but each time, the ring either hit the bottleneck and bounced off or spun out of control entirely.
By now, a few onlookers had gathered, entertained by his serious attempts. You tried to stifle your laughter, but you couldn't help but crack a grin at the determined look on his face. Damian caught you watching and laughed, shaking his head.
“This thing’s rigged,” he grumbled, picking up another ring. “But I’m not leaving without that bear.”
It took a few more tries, but finally, with one last, precise throw, the ring landed cleanly over the bottle neck. Damian’s mouth dropped open in momentary disbelief before his face broke into a proud grin. He raised his fist in victory, and the crowd of onlookers gave him a small cheer.
With a satisfied look, he turned to the attendant, who handed him the oversized bear. Damian held it up with a triumphant grin, and for a moment, you saw the thrill of his wrestling persona flash across his face. Then, he turned to you, holding the bear out with a proud smile.
“Here you go,” he said, his voice softer than before. “For you, from the master of ring toss himself.”
You took the bear from him, laughing as you hugged it to your chest. “Thank you, Damian.”
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Anything to make a day at the fair memorable,” he said, his gaze lingering on you as you clutched the bear.
Somehow, in that little exchange, the day felt different—more charged, more real. You could both sense it, though neither of you dared to name it just yet.
As the sun dipped low in the sky, casting a warm glow over the fairgrounds, Rhea gathered the group near the edge of the festival grounds with a mischievous grin. “Surprise! I booked us hot air balloon rides to finish off the day.” She beamed, holding up a handful of tickets. “Only four per balloon, so… here we go.”
In a practiced and subtle shuffle, Rhea partnered up with the others, quickly taking the balloon nearest her and flashing a wink your way as she climbed in. Within moments, the other three wrestlers joined her, laughing and getting settled, leaving you and Damian standing by the last balloon, alone.
Damian raised an eyebrow, half-smiling as he looked at you. “Guess it’s just us then?”
You felt your stomach twist as you took in the sight of the balloon’s basket waiting just for the two of you. Heights had never been your thing, and you could already feel a wave of nervousness inching its way in.
“Yeah… just us,” you said with a weak smile, hoping he didn’t notice your hesitation.
As you climbed into the basket, Damian leaned over, catching the flicker of worry in your expression. “You good?” he asked, eyes softening as he stepped inside.
You nodded, though your voice betrayed you. “Fine, just… never been the biggest fan of heights.”
He chuckled softly, placing a reassuring hand on your shoulder. “Don’t worry. I’ll keep you grounded… well, as grounded as we can be in this thing.”
As the balloon began to rise, you felt his arm slide around your shoulders, guiding you to lean into his chest, keeping you steady as the ground below slowly faded from view.
You closed your eyes, inhaling deeply, the faint scent of his cologne settling your nerves. “Thanks. This definitely helps,” you murmured.
He chuckled, his voice a low rumble as he tried to distract you. “Want to know something? When I first got into WWE, I was all nerves. I couldn’t believe I was actually going to wrestle in front of thousands of people, live on TV, with my face everywhere.”
You looked up at him, surprised. “Seriously? You always seem so… sure of yourself.”
“Fake it ’til you make it,” he said with a grin, tapping his chest. “It’s easier when you have good people around you.” He glanced down, and there was a look in his eyes that made your breath hitch. “People like you.”
A comfortable silence settled between you, and as you lifted your head slightly, you could see a whole new world stretched out below, lit by the fading golden light of sunset. It felt surreal, hanging in this quiet pocket of the sky with him, where time seemed to stand still.
“You know,” Damian began, his voice gentle as he traced a thumb over your shoulder, “I, uh… I’ve liked you for a while. More than I probably should.”
You felt your cheeks warm as you looked up at him, heart pounding. “Yeah? I had no idea. But… maybe I’ve felt the same.”
His gaze flickered over your face, studying you as if trying to memorize every feature. “Then maybe I’m not crazy to think this is worth a shot?”
Before you could answer, he leaned down, brushing his lips over yours in a soft, tentative kiss, his hand cradling your face. You melted into him, any lingering nerves forgotten as you lost yourself in the moment. When you pulled back, you couldn’t help but smile, feeling lighter than ever.
“So,” you whispered, still inches away, “guess Rhea’s little matchmaking scheme worked, huh?”
Damian chuckled, shaking his head. “I’ll have to thank her later… but right now, I’m more than happy just to be here with you.”
