My take on a Sonadow fankid! She actually existed for a while now, but the trend gave me motivation to finally draw her!

Most sonadow fankids are purplish and tube-grown, so I decided to make her neither!

Background for the story under cut, in case it gets long!

So in this AU, stories from the more recent games happen when Sonic and Shadow are at most around 20 years old. Back then Sonic was rambunctious and reckless as we know him to be, and Shadow was a depressed, traumatized emo kid. While at first they were rivals as depicted in the games.

Over the years tho, just like their friends, the two matured. They started getting along a lot more, and became official friends, which eventually lead to dating. They both were afraid of getting serious though, so they took things slow and casual. Due to some of their unresolved issues, they couldn't get any closer. But not for much longer.

Some of it has been brought on by a Particular Event, and some of it due to restructuring how they go about saving the world, but things changed. As Forces has shown, putting so much responsibility on One Guy isn't wise. Sonic felt so quilty for failing, but it never should've been his job alone, so they created an organization, to share the load more evenly!

The org became global, with local groups of heroes being recruited all around, meaning that now the characters we know and love now had more time to take care of their personal lives.

While for some the change hasn't been much, Sonic, and to a lesser extent, Shadow, struggled quite a lot. Many of things happened in between, but eventually both of them grew to quite enjoy the domestic life.

They moved in together, and started taking things to the next level, now that both have done some healing and therapy. They found that they get along quite great. After a bit longer, they decided to start a family :)

Shadow came up with the name. He wanted to honor his sister's memory, but Mar-Mar was also a symbol of all his progress. He did go to therapy to make sure that he can handle them sharing a name, to see if it's a good idea, and well, it was!

She's now 4 and very loved, and her dads love each other very much as well. For a certain Sonic though, things won't go so great.

Yknow when I think abt it a little more deeper, I don't think I went into further detail abt it!! This is for sure one of the aspects that are in "spoiler" territory cause it is something that happens far later on in the story, but it is one of the main premises of my au.

Ganondorf obtains the Master Sword; better yet, Sheik champions Ganondorf through the triforce of Wisdom to wield the Master Sword. It wasn't a fate that Sheik wanted, as both of them are now responsible to fight The Calamity. Ganondorf sees Sheik stressed over this but reassures her that he will wield the sword and help her fight the Calamity. At this stage of the Master Sword, it is dormant, the Master Sword has not been used in more than 10k years. While Ganondorf may wield this ancient sword, he must also prove his courage.

This part of the story is one of the segments I'm planning to rewrite to make it fall into place and be more cohesive than it is. So there's a chance that once I reach to this point in my story there could be somethings changed :] The way how Ganondorf obtains the Master Sword doesn't change however (or I will try to not change it)

magical girls, generally, have something they fight against. this holds true in hms mg:ljga!.

heart, mind and soul fight 'Shadows', abstracted manifestations of consciousness and circumstance that have a tendency to mirror (or 'shadow') their individual and group situations. they often carry repetitive motifs or themes, functioning as tangible metaphors that must be 'resolved', much like any conflict.

the way in which a shadow is resolved varies. itd be wrong to say that there is ever one true or 'correct' resolution. rather, its a matter of what the group (or the individual,) sees as a proper ending to the matter. often, they default to violence.

it works well (or well enough...) for most shadows, as far as they can tell. its certainly easier than trying to talk it out...

my brain's been thinking about certain realmers as magical girls recently, so i'm presenting my losa+tina x pretty cure au! i was inspired to make this when i saw this art by @melmokk3 !! maybe i'll make a madoka au as well but i wanted to make something more lighthearted and silly before anything else. what pretty cure is and what the au is are explained below the cut :3

okay so to quickly summarize what pretty cure/precure is, it's a magical girl series! there's currently 22 seasons and there's usually a different cast for each one. the story normally goes: a fairy's kingdom has been attacked by evil, they find the legendary pretty cures, they defeat the monsters of the week, and in the end good wins!! my au isn't based around any season in particular but instead i'm pulling from a lot of the common tropes/general tone and from what the spinoff seasons full bloom and mirai days are doing, which is working with aged up versions of the main casts.

as for the au itself-

the au focuses on ros, tina, sneeg, and clown. they're all adults in our modern world, living in a city... somewhere. they've got jobs, they're trying to make rent, and despite everything life could be worse! on one fateful day, coworkers ros and tina are window shopping when they encounter foolish! i don't have a solid vision for his design but i'm thinking he'd be like candy and pop from smile precure/glitter force. he's the fairy and therefore helper to the cures. he gives the two the rundown of how he got into this mess: he was the grand ruler of the kingdom of fools, until the malicious badgers attacked and destroyed the kingdom for the sake of causing chaos. now he's on the hunt for the legendary pretty cure warriors to save his kingdom, and their world, from destruction. shortly after they'd get attacked by pangi, and ros would become the first cure out of 4

after ros becomes a cure, she'd deal with a couple of fights with pangi with the occasional bbh sighting! she and tina would then be introduced to clown, who would become the second cure and the then strongest of the bunch. clown becoming a cure would also coincide with mocha/pili being introduced as a villain. sneeg would hear about all of the monsters running amok in the city his buddy ros lives in, so on the day he goes to check-in on her, the first attack orchestrated by the triple threat happens, and sneeg would become the third cure. if/when tina becomes a cure at all it would be much later down the line, probably closer to whatever explanation i can give the war in this au. in the meantime though, i have agendas to push so qpr losa and rostina yuri would be happening and are the relationship endgames.

i don't have solid designs in my head as of yet, but i've got a theme and some general color schemes/ideas. i'm still working on just picturing some stuff such as what they're using to transform/use their finishing attacks, as well as just fleshing out what happens between/during everyone becoming magical girls. seeing as the cures are fighting for the sake of the kingdom of fools though, why not theme them around a circus and circus positions?

ros would be Cure Ringleader, the head of the team, quickest of the bunch, and a purple cure. clown would be either Cure Jester or Cure Clown, he'd be a red cure, the best skill-wise, and he'd have a fire-based finisher. i'm still conflicted on sneeg's cure name but for now he's Cure Trapeze. he's a blue cure who can fly, and has a lightning finisher. lastly there's tina who's Cure Magician. she's a pink cure and the strongest magic-wise. i dont have the best vision of her finisher but i think somehow it'd involve a magician's hat. the losa would have a trio attack as well as duo attacks for each pairing. tina and ros would have a duo attack, and the 4 combined would have some crazy finisher that i'd imagine would put whatever they're fighting through a circus or something (thinking about the you&idol finishers as inspiration for the 4 cure attack, where whatever they're fighting literally gets teleported to a circus).

that's most of my put-together thoughts on this au for now. not sure if i will ever post any art but i might post more words abt this later. i'm still working on it and i'll probably also wind up with that madoka au at some point :3

This was supposed to be a simple vampire!Bagi/demon princess!Tina au but I got carried away while researching the nether biomes so here we are lmaoo

Ironmouse- Queen of the Underworld

Castle resides in the Nether Wastes region

Oversees all the Nether capitals/kingdoms/demon kind

And business concerning the Overworld's access to the Nether

Tina- Princess of the Seven Capital Vices

Castle resides in Warped Forest region

7 deadly sins reflect the Seven Capital Vices (regions) and are named: Avaritia, Luxuria, Invidia, Gula, Ira, Acedia, Vanagloria

Helps Mouse with matters concerning demon kind/the kingdom's subjects

Bad- Prince of Death (Grim Reaper)

Castle resides in the Soulsand Valley

Also has connections and access over ancient cities/deep dark

Mostly rules over matters concerning dead mortals/making sure souls pass properly

Bad's role is like Hades' in greek mythology basically

Yangdding- Highest ranking demon general

Main fortress resides in the Crimson Forests

Leads Mouse's armies

Has a lot of experience exploring the different biomes, fighting, and resolving conflicts between demons

Still a part of demon nobility but doesn't "rule" over anything, so no royal title

Basically a brief summary of how the Nether Kingdom works:

Demons are still looked down upon by many people from the Overworld, but that's mainly due to the many millenia of tyrannical demon rulers and the power they abused to instill fear into the people of the Overworld. Eventually, the Nether Kingdom became impoverished because of the corrupt governing, until IronMouse- a "lowly demon" stepped in to try to change things. A civil war ensued, but the rebellion led by Mouse, Bad, and Tina won and Mouse took the throne as the new Demon Queen.

She changed a lot of things including how long a ruler should stay in power, since technically, one crowned demon can rule forever. Mouse declared that demon rulers can stay in power for 1000 years maximum before they must eventually find a successor to take their place. Mouse's dynasty has just reached its 650th year when the story takes place. Ironmouse wants to establish peace with the people of the Overworld, and they mainly stay out of Overworld wars. That is, until the ancient conflict between demons and vampires arises and escalates once more...

I want to go over the vampires and Bagi's role, but I think that requires a separate post XD

a thought i had about the dreamdad au but if kiwi is the dream kings child, does that make them like an overseer or overseer adjacent more like a fairy? And if they are directly an overseer, does that mean they'll get corrupted and audery will try to kill them?

i'd make them overseer adjacent in my opinion! since they arent responsible for keeping langtree together like dream king. audrey wouldnt care about killing them, similarly to the fairies

not opposed to an alternative where they were though, it'd be pretty interesting :P doubt there were ever two overseers in one place* but hey, probably no overseer has had a kid before either so why not! audrey would want them dead in that case and if they did manage to save the world somehow, i doubt they'd survive.

(* as in like. their place, their domain. dream king barging in queen order's castle doesnt count)

dreamdad au in general is a really, i don't know how to put this, flexible au? theres a lot of things you can switch around and make different because we don't actually have that much information about overseers in game besides the really important stuff. that's one of the reasons i'm still not super set on specific lore for it yet.

Gordon could feel his blood pressure starting to rise at the sight of that worn-down hoodie the boy seemed to be perpetually wearing. Does he not have any other shirts? It's not even cold out! Not to mention his stupid fucking hat. Gordon doesn't think he's ever even seen Benrey's hair. Who knows, he might actually be bald under there.

That's besides the point. The point is, Gordon can see the moment Benrey catches a glimpse of him from across the room, and he internally braces himself for the ridiculously mediocre bullying he endures daily.

Gordon isn't sure why Benrey decided he was the ideal target for his harassment, but he's put up with it for the past few years anyways.

"yooo, feetman!"

Gordon takes a deep breath, holds it for a moment, then tries to release the tension in his shoulders with it. He doesn't bother responding to the nuisance pestering him, instead trying to direct his focus on the math problems on the notebook in front of him.

"heyyyy," Benrey throws an arm over his shoulders, leaning his full weight onto Gordon, "you being a nerd? little- little nerdman? little nerdman doing. doing his math? mathboy? mathman?"

Gordon grits his teeth as he feels a tug on a lock of his hair that had fallen from his ponytail. God, why is this boy so touchy?

"psssst, feetman?" Benrey presses his face right next to Gordon's to look at the page, entirely dismissing any notion of personal space. "what are you working on, nerdman? numbers? workin' on numbers? numberboy? numberman? numb-"

"Jesus Christ, have you never heard of personal fucking space?" Gordon leans away and shoves Benrey off of him, finally looking at him with a scowl.

Benrey blinks at him. "whuh?"

Gordon groans, pinching the bridge of his nose. He can feel a migraine building.

So the actual emotional plot between Grian and Scar is currently in heavy development, because I have So Many Feelings about this duo (/pos) and I want to make sure to fit in as much of my thoughts on them as possible in, while also making everything make sense narratively ^-^;;

(But if you want an idea of the headspace I've been in while thinking about these two specifically, here's the song I've been listening to on repeat as I think about Them: Born Without A Heart by Faouzia)

In my plot, they're both haphazardly trying to both recreate and process the memories they have of their other selves' relationships, while coming at it from completely different angles, and holding a lot of resentment towards each other based on the half-remembered wrongs done against their counterparts by the other person's counterparts.

They also forget an incredibly important point, which is that those things may have been done by versions of the other person, but the other Trials did happen in... Different Universes. Different Worlds. Those versions of them are alternate iterations of them. Not them exactly!

So Scar isn't processing that just because he has memories of DL!Grian being a cheater doesn't mean that this Grian is a cheater (he isn't! and wouldn't be!). Meanwhile, Grian hasn't connected that just because 3L!Scar betrayed him without warning doesn't inherently mean that this Scar is fickle, or untrustworthy, or any of the nasty things Grian has thought about 3L!Scar when overwhelmed by that hurt so great is passed through dimensions

And all of that, in addition to them trying to prove to themselves that they somehow have value by "getting this person who didn't want them anymore to actually want them, and stay", means that for the first part of all of this, they're going to have a messy, on-again-off-again, chaotic relationship where they're saying the same thing but they just can't hear it

And it will be a gradual shift from that trashfire of a situation to them actually understanding who these versions of Grian and Scar are as people, and settling into a much less chaotic or toxic relationship

They will get there! But the how is slightly in flux ^-^;;
