Great question! HLC REACT TO MC TURNING INTO A HUNGARIAN HORNTAIL

MC still doesn't know the limits of ancient magic, but apparently, it includes being able to transform oneself into a powerful magical beast of their choice for a time. Today, the beast of choice was the ferocious Hungarian Horntail dragon. Admittedly, MC was just showing off.

They show their closest friends and mentor the full transformation and even a fireblast demonstration. Then they sit pretty to soak in the praise. They know they look cool.

SEBASTIAN SALLOW: His jaw was already on the ground when MC transformed, but it somehow got lower when he witnessed the 40ft jet of fire rise from MC's maw. Such POWER. He wants to see MC decimate a dark wizard outpost. Set fire to EVERYTHING!

OMINIS GAUNT: He can feel the rumble of the earth beneath him with every step MC takes. The heat of the flames makes him turn away. Just the low rumble from MC's throat sends shivers down his spine. This is the closest he EVER wants to get to the real thing. Even though he knows it's MC, it's a scary experience.

ANNE SALLOW: She's more collected than her brother, but still as excited over MC's ability to burn everything in their path. Just thinking about what MC could do with a single breath makes her giddy. She's as much a firebug as Sebastian, she's just better at keeping her head.

IMELDA REYES: She is a simple woman with simple interests. See dragon, must race. Fly MC! Show her what you're really made of! Bet she could fly circles around them. Bet they can catch her? Prove it!

NATSAI ONAI: She'll beat Poppy to the punch about asking for rides. The spines make it challenging but she'll figure something out. She grabs MC by the nostrils and gets in their face. "Let me ride you! ...wait, that sounded-... You know what I mean!"

GARRETH WEASLEY: He NEEDS to hear them roar. Dragons are so strong that they don't even need to use fire. A roar from a fully grown dragon at close range can shatter eardrums. You feel the shockwave of sound go through your body. His ears ring for a bit even though he covered them.

LEANDER PREWETT: He's feeling so inadequate as a wizard. He can barely balance on a broom right and MC can transfigure themself into a mother loving DRAGON. No fair...

AMIT THAKKAR: He's dying to know how this works. This is magic that's either never been seen or never recorded, because he's never even heard of anyone capable of this without being some sort of rare animagus. MC needs to be studied, and he's the one to do it. Next to the stars themselves, MC is the universe's greatest mystery.

EVERETT CLOPTON: Dragons scare the ever living shit out of him. They're big, powerful and sometimes go after broom flyers when hungry. Hell admire MC from a distance. Like, way back behind the stoney hill, distant. Please don't come closer, he will cry.

POPPY SWEETING: She's absolutely ECSTATIC! She can examine a powerful dragon up close that isn't trying to eat her. It's a dream come true! She does circles around MC, taking in every detail. She takes out a small, leather bound book and a piece of charcoal and sketches every part MC lets her study. When MC puts their snoot right up against her, she actually squeals a little with excitement. She gets to TOUCH a live dragon. She's on cloud nine and never wants to come down.

ELEAZAR FIG: When MC tells him this is something they could do thanks to ancient magic, the only thing he can think is: "Miriam would have loved to see this." He's so proud. MC is capable of way more than he ever thought. He only hopes to live long enough to witness the rest of the wizarding world realize the same.

I recall you mentioning once that you worked in a lab, do u have any advice for getting to that point? I want (read: NEED) to work or intern at a lab but I don’t rlly know what to ask the ppl running them lol

If I can help I'd be glad to!! Full disclaimer though, I am an undergrad junior and I go to school at a pretty reputable research institution so I may not be that much help because I've been pretty lucky and privileged to have direct access to many opportunities. If you're not a high schooler or undergrad student, my advice might not even apply to you at all. This got quite long, so I'll put this under a read more. If you have any more questions, feel free to dm me!

I don't know what your research interests are or what level of schooling you're at so I'll try my best to be broad. You're right that it's best to directly ask the person running the lab, the principal investigator (PI). Even if there's an official application process for fellowships or summer research grants or programs, usually already having reached out to a mentor is either a requirement or strongly encouraged. This applies for both university labs and I think rseearch agency labs like NIH, though I will say, a lot more of my advice will apply to labs at universities.

Understandably, though, it's really difficult to write that email, and quite disheartening that usually you'll need to write multiple emails to different PIs before even getting a reply back. One way to deal with this is to find a template online to copy, because word for word these emails usually go

"Hello [so and so], My name is [so and so] and I'm [brief introduction]. I'm interested in [what research this lab does] and was wondering if you have any positions available in your lab for [period you want to do internship during]. If you need them, my resume and transcript are attached. Thank you for your time."

You can delve into more specifcs in the body but it doesn't need to be long-- I think PIs tend to be quite busy, so being concise and direct is good, as long as you're genuine about what you're interested in. It doesn't need to be an essay or multiple paragraphs or anything! I find that usually 3-4 sentences suffices. If they want to know more, they'll usually ask to meet to talk about what you're interested in.

(On a side note, my roommate has an excellent strategy for dealing with anxiety when sending an email where you recite "fuck it we ball fuck it we ball fuck it we ball" while clicking send lmao)

Now, more specifically, if you're already attending a college that has labs, and professors who are PIs of those labs, it can be useful to take a class that the PI teaches and email either while taking the class or after the class and say "this class was very interesting and i was hoping to explore [so and so] further. Do you have any openings in your lab etc." If you don't have the time to do this, just cold-emailing the lab is usually fine too, but it's good to cite a connection I think? Also keep an eye out for any presentations or seminars that might be given by grad students or professors, since going to those can be a good way to express interest.

If you're a high schooler, you won't have the immediate connection, but I think most researchers would be impressed with the initiative to reach out and have no reason to refuse help. You might have a harder time finding a paid internship as a high schooler, but even with volunteering you can definitely get a foot into the door with research experience. I think a good way to start for high schoolers is looking into local university labs and expressing an interest in their work? Or reaching out to alumni of your school to ask for general advice and or opportunities.

If you don't receive an email back, you can send a follow up in two or three days. Sometimes emails can get pushed to the bottom of the inbox before they're seen, and it's no harm to just bump it again, with a little "hello! I wasn't sure if you'd seen this email. I'd like to follow up on this." (historically, I have been very bad at this, ahha). If you receive a negative response (which is pretty unlikely I think?) you can still thank them for their time and ask for advice regarding getting into research for their field of specialty.

i just started getting into dc, can you recommend me any good storylines/essentials/etc?

hi! i would need to know a bit more detail about what youre interested in reading -- are you looking specifically for bat comics, or justice league, or something else? do u have an era or tone in mind that youd prefer? also generally id say i stay in some very specific lanes in comics and dont venture much outside of them so there are definitely better people with more general knowledge to ask. i dont know if id necessarily recommend it for everyone but the way i personally got into dc was through scott snyders 2011 batman run. this was a fresh start (full reboot) for the character and it made a lot of changes some people really hate but i think that also makes it really accessible for a beginner reader and whatever clicks with you about that run can kind then be dug into deeper later. if theres any characters in particular that interests you there are also plenty of good reading lists floating around tumblr -- usually just googling [character name] reading list can come up with a bunch. thanks for asking me! i hope this at least provided a starting point -- if you have any more questions feel free to send me another ask or dm me:-)

I actually sometimes ask the artists and they said they're fine with it, but in terms of the fan arts I posted thus far, I got them from Pinterest majority of them, and some are Ai fan arts too, for those who made the Ai fan arts, they are also found on Pinterest without a watermark or who made them, so I assumed that I can use them, when I found them I wanted to ask who the artist is but sometimes the Pinterest comments say they don't know cause no watermark on them or they say it's Ai fan art.

But in respect for those who made the Ai fan arts and fan artists, I might as well find some manga ones and official arts instead in respect.

Hello, I go by Nini and I am new to roleplaying on Tumblr but I’ve been roleplaying (on other platforms) for around six years. In the last few years I went on a hiatus from roleplaying altogether due to life and losing my creativity. Now I wanna get back into the swing of things ^u^ Forgive me for I am very rusty, grammar and punctuation is not my strong suit. Plus I don’t have any fancy edits and aesthetic stuff for my blog so bare with me. I also don’t really use faceclaims since the faces and features for my OCs are very hard to find😭. (And I get distracted and start staring at hot models) But I will be using Heroforge to represent my OCs. (collages later on!)

RULES

Please be 18+ I am in my early 20’s and I prefer to only roleplay with adults.

Majority of the time I will only roleplay as my OCs because I rarely have a muse for canon characters. Also forgive me I’m not great with canon characters, for the most part they will be in the background of my replies.

On that note most of my OCs are related to each other or have close relationship with each other. So I may roleplay as multiple OCs but I will always choose one oc that’s the main one.

I know it’s The Boys but I am not great at writing fight scenes. Forgive me it’s a skill I’m still lacking in. (And I love Mortal Kombat too WTH 😭) I will try my best but don’t expect too much. If you see my reply and it’s not good you can go ahead do a scene skip I don’t blame you.

I don’t have any triggers to be honest. And obviously I will respect your triggers. I want everyone to have a fun time so if there’s something that’s bothering you that I said go ahead and tell me. You don’t have to be nice about it either I completely understand!

I like plotting and I don’t mind not having a plan either. Pre established romantic relationships will be hard for me. Unless it’s a new relationship.

But feel free to change a plot you’re not into. It’s ok if your muse is not into mine either. I have a few simps in my arsenal so rejection is a-ok! And we can do multiple plots or never finish them I am cool with this too.

I’d prefer to do a roleplay through posts since I will be able to save the draft. But I don’t mind doing it through dms either. If you wanna go on discord and do it that’s fine with me too ^_^

Howdy; hope your day's (or night's) been peachy. I saw you were giving art advice, so I was hoping you can answer my own question: can you learn to be as good as, say, yourself at art when you're broke? I'm talking "can't pay for a soda at a from a vending machine broke even if you're really damn thirsty because you've spent all your money on rent" broke. Art supplies, both digital and traditional, look so damn expensive. Can you learn to draw while broke, and do you have any budget art tips?

Your Art or craft isn’t about having expensive art supplies it’s about how you use it

I come from a very humble family so I was never able to get a lot of nice art supplies growing up but that didn’t stop me!

Simply drawing on a notebook is enough to make good art!

I recommend going to a local dollar store to get a sketch book and most of your art supplies

From my experience purchasing from bigger companies like Michaels was a waste of money

While you can get awesome pens and stuff from Michaels when I used the sketchbooks from there I was never able to draw in it because I didn’t wanna ruin expensive paper so I got dollar store sketchbooks!

Cheaper and I don’t feel limited to what I draw!

As for digital art it can be really simple! If you have a phone you can draw on there!

Fun fact if you look back at old drawings from before June 2021 all those drawings were made on my phone!!

I never had a laptop and a drawing tablet until last year for my bday

IbisPaint, FlipaClip (for animating), and sketchbook were all my apps I used!! Sketchbook was for just basic sketching/doodling and ibis paint was my main art app! All free apps too!

You can also make a drawing on paper and scan it in on your phone! From your notes app or a scanning app on the AppStore!

The gifs: There is a story to this. The first week I came to Tumblr, It was my first time on this site and the first time I share anything. I shared some content and my analysis had a lot of notes for a small creator that started just a week ago. But I made a mistake, I found a gif and posted it while crediting the gif maker. At the time I had NO idea it was wrong. I logged off and after 5 hours I log in and there was a WAR for that ONE gif. The big blog had me blocked and her friend was telling me to take it off. As soon as the person told me I did IMMEDIATELY and apologized againa and again and told them to tell the original gif maker to deblock me as I want to apologize directly and that they can block me after that. They did and I apologized but they just kept insulting me. Of course it was MY mistake and that’s why I apologized. But for them. for a mere gif (yes I say a mere gif because I made so many gifs and they were used on all platforms but I never thought it was necessary to hate that much on someone like they did to me). That blog was big and had big blog mutuals. Thanks to that, I became someone you do NOT become mutuals with but block and never reblog content from. Without any big mutuals. Without any shoutouts. Only my love for BTS, my dear followers’ support and my hard work.. My blog, became bigger and FAST (I got 10k in less than 6 months after I started) and that brought loads of jealousy and thus more rumors. Even if, I apologized and since then made my own gifs. And I made SO many gifsets that I can’t remember how many there were. What I can recall is at some point I made them daily and many times a day.

Ships Jikook? I posted content of ALL the members interactions. I was here at a time where Jikook stans and Taekook stans where always fighting. BUT I posted about both and even made so many posts to encourage loving all the members and all the interactions. I also used the tags solely used for shipping with other big tags to show that BTS’ interactions are all important and their bond is beutiful. That our fandom shouldn’t hate on a member just because they are not part of a ship we like. And wait .. even if I shipped Jikook? I got called ALL those names by someone who ship the members with readers and write sexual scenes? Like, wait ... I am truly confused. Like, write fanfic and do all you want as long as you hurt no one I guess but why am I getting hurt for doing non of it? Like according to you, the person you should be cancelling is yourself?! I am also not into cancel culture like you so hahah whatever.

Posted stalker pics: well wow the story changes each time. Next thing you will hear that I was the one holding a camera for a member in a Vlive lol. Let me teach you about this update thing I was doing. I follow accounts I trust and that’s how we get info circulating fast. I always do reasearch but sometimes mistakes are made. For example when lately people shared pictures of BTS leaving their virtual concerts and schedules. There was a watermark of a news outlet. Normally we trust those but only later we realized that those people stalked BTS. You clearly can’t know it all. But I still didn’t share many pics related to many events (I will not name those as pple can search them even now because some pple never deleted those). And all big accounts shared many pics then deleted later. This happens all the time but it happened like ONCE for me. However, I am called a stalker for that? 

When Jonghyun passed away ... I don’t even wanna recall that night as the memories just ... when that happened I posted about it and send my condolescences. that post had over 10k notes and was at the top the tag. Why did I do that? I was devastated. Yes, many were but I will talk about me rn: I was suicidal the days before that and one of the songs that I listened to when I was broken where by him. I has been in the kpop world since 2006. And learned about his group since their debut with ‘Replay’. I was never a stan but I still knew of many groups and listened to all the songs I liked. I was very sad when he was gone and ANGRY mostly. Why is this angel leaving? Why is someone like me still here? Why did I not leave instead of him? How much did he suffer? And in the midst I posted a post from twitter that stated how agencies usually put down pple with mental illiness and hide it in the industry. Yes, that was important but NOT at that time. I shouldn’t have posted that and I realized after 5 min of doing so that it was WRONG. So I deleted it FAST but it kept being reblogged and I kept getting hate and people telling me: “Go kill yourself”... the sad part is that I almost did as my answer was “true ... why am I still here?” I apologized and logged off then to this day won’t forget crying at 3 AM while walking outside next to my dad. I was outside as I couldn’t breathe anymore and the idea of seeing the walls of my room was hell. I cried and cried and the teary eyes that my father looked at me with are something I am ashamed of to this day. To add one more thing while I am spilling the beans. I hate learning about someone dying. My grandma passed away sometime before that and it was so shocking to me. and some people came and told me when I was mourning her: Go follow that bitch of grandmother of yours. And for what? At that moment I didn’t think I would live to see the next year but I went to therapy and took medecine that was hurting and made me shake all day just to turn somewhat sane. No one knew tho ... I smiled all day and cried all night.. Even on the blog I fought no one of the ones who hated me. I just blocked them but even that was an insult to them?

Again, you said no one should defend me. Yet, you were ready to fight whoever touched anyone around you. What about changing your URL to beautifulassirony
