What Are the Rules of Professional Conduct? | Principal Ideas in Model Rules
This video discusses the development of model rules by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) to safeguard public health, safety, and welfare and maintain high standards of skill and practice in the engineering and surveying professions. The script highlights the merger of engineering and surveying boards in most states, including Texas, and the need for licensees and firms to follow the rules of professional conduct outlined by NCEES. The model rules are divided into three principal areas:
Obligations to society
Obligations to employers and clients
Obligations to fellow licensed engineers
These rules ensure ethical behavior and accountability within the engineering and surveying professions. Each state may have its codes of ethics or model rules. The video encourages viewers to familiarize themselves with state-specific regulations to uphold ethical standards in their professional practice.

i've been doing a bunch of tartarus runs in reload lately, and it got me thinking about how i miss certain ways FES's clunky gameplay can characterize minato… (ramble about the great clock mechanic + leveling up party members in reload vs fes under the cut)
when i got to yabbashah block in tartarus (block 3), i remember commending the developers for adding the great clock mechanic. it's a much more convenient way to keep party members at the protagonist's level- so when you think about p3 from the perspective of trying to make it easier for people to play, the mechanic succeeds in this respect.
but now that i'm in adamah block, and that i've done lots of my once-a-month tartarus runs… i think that i got a little too dependent on it, and the way that i played through reload feels like a vastly different experience from how i played FES.
in reload, my party's levels are very lopsided. minato, yukari, akihiko, mitsuru, and fuuka are all level 90+, meanwhile junpei and aigis are at level 79, and then… poor ken and koromaru are at 71 and 64 respectively. (i never got to have a great clock for them…)
meanwhile, in FES, my party's levels were much more evenly distributed and were at least level 90. i did all of this manually for every monthly tartarus run because i enjoyed having options available for the taratarus guardians and monthly operations.
with how i perceive minato, i feel that the way i played FES feels more in-line with his character than me dawdling around waiting for the great clocks in reload.
FES's gameplay loop left me with the very strong impression that minato has to work twice as hard as everyone else in SEES does. it makes sense because, yeah, he's the leader, but something about having minato run through tartarus multiple times with different groups of people just to make sure that they are adequately prepared speaks volumes about his character, to me.
and while the tired mechanic is present in reload to some degree, most notably with allowing you to freely raise your courage stat when you visit edogawa after school… the tiredness system doesn't hit the same way that FES does, i think.
the way your party members in FES will call it quits when they return to the entrance floor at tartarus when they're tired, versus minato, in spite of all his tiredness and sickness, still pushes through tartarus because it's his responsibility…. idk!!! i miss that! i feel like this really hammers home the difference between minato and the rest of SEES, how minato doesn't really see himself as a human with needs worth respecting as long as he's useful to someone.
i don't think that tartarus being tedious (in FES especially) is not what most people would describe as fun, and i can respect people thinking it's a slog. but, regardless of how it feels to play, it doesn't change that FES's gameplay loop is a fundamental building block in how i perceive minato…
of course, i do recognize that you can just opt to NOT use the great clock in reload (and it's great when players are offered the choice to not partake in mechanics)! i definitely think that if someone really wanted to, they could manually level up party members, but i do feel that kind of playstyle isn't necessarily "incentivized" to the type of people who are into playing games for Having a Good Time. it's kind of like… "why would you do that when there's a much more convenient option available to you."
in any case! despite my woes, i do want to emphasize that i'm glad that reload has a much more smoother gameplay loop than the original P3 did, because it does make the game more accessible to people. having played both FES and reload, it feels very strongly apparent to me how the core gameplay formula of persona has really been refined in the past 18 years (to think og p3 was 2006 and reload is 2024.. time flies!). and reload has made revisiting a story that i love so dearly much, much easier because the gameplay just bops!
at the same time, due to my "i miss characterization informed by weird and dated FES gameplay quirks" woes, i still think that playing FES is worthwhile. (really, i feel this way about all iterations of p3! i think it's worthwhile to see what each version and side media has to say even if it doesn't Land™ for you.) but i also understand why people wouldn't want to play it, so i will keep writing posts about things i liked from FES's gameplay because i'm still very fond of FES (especially in respects to minato. these mechanics are so telling about him!!!) 💪

I really don't like the way you say a Laguz is "dead" or not a Laguz anymore if it can't transform. You'd be bothered if somebody said a person died or became less than human if they were paraplegic or severely mentally handicapped, right?
Good thing that people transforming in animals who lose said ability because they got a mixed-race baby don't exist in real life right ?
I'm sure the argument of "you'll be crippled if you get a baby with people X" was used in nauseabond RL circles during darker ages, but I'm sure that's not the kind of comparison you wanted to make anon !
Death is of course a metaphor, Almedha and Lehran are still alive and kicking through FE9 and FE10.
However, through the course of those games, if you played them or watched a lp, players realise that Laguz identity is tied to their ability to use their respective powers, in opposition to beorcs who don't have the same abilities.
A Laguz is thus a human who can transform in a bestial form and use their inherent power. Laguz societies put a lot of emphasis on this ability to transform and the inherent "strength" of their kin that we are told they base some system of government according to it (strongest becomes king).
(don't ask me why Tellius devs decided to tackle the "good savage" trope by having literal animal people, but it sure was a decision)
Now, Almedha and Lehran cannot transform anymore.
They cannot use their powers anymore (Lehran's inability to sing, thus fulfil his part of the promise to the goddess was one of the reasons behind his initial mental breakdown !).
They have, as Tibarn notes it, no scent anymore : I don't think scent here means what kind of perfume they're using, but something more in the lines that their core being changed and he, as a Laguz, cannot recognise it to the point where he's confused and wonders if she's a beorc or, neither beorc nor laguz...
As someone with chronic illness, I do not think I'm less than human because a pair of lungs don't define identity or "humanity", but in the Tellius world, for Laguz, being able to use their various powers define who they are.
Tumblr media
Deghinsea is blunt like a hammer, alas he's not wrong : Lehran "lost" his "birthright" and this loss isn't treated like Largo's loss of his arm.
Tumblr media
Short story : Laguz who hold hands with Beorcs and get a kid will lose all (but not the ability to use a sending Stone ?) of their powers and while they feel like they are no "true" Laguz anymore, the other Laguz can't recognise them as kin either.
Irl people who deny humanity to people who are, in your own words, "paraplegic or severely mentally handicapped" are pieces of crap and, imo, should be avoided at all costs, but we're not talking about irl, but about the fictional setting of Tellius that I find more and more shitty with the years.
In Tellius, a Laguz who fucks a Beorc, for themselves and for the rest of the world (hell even with their world's mechanics, iirc Sephiran loses the wind weakness bird laguz have ?), stop being Laguz, i.e. as a Laguz, they effectively die.
Laguz who turn feral and have their minds erased can still, thanks to herons, switch between forms (Rajaion).
Almedha cannot.
Laguz who were tortured and lost, due to said torture, the ability to use their wings, still can use their powers and transform (Rafiel).
Lehran cannot.
I'd be very happy, anon, if a future remake tweaked the ending for those characters and pulled some shit like "with the support of his friends and family, and mayhap the help of the goddesses he so faithfully served, Lehran finally managed to hum a galdr" and something similar with Almedha.
It would lessen, somewhat, the main plot sink of that verse that can be, and was, summed up as "Racism bad, but miscgenation bad too :S"

Who do you think they'll pick for the new hero type in the future? Aid/accessory is the theme but how many characters actually have something like that? Maybe Marth and the Fire Emblem? Micaiah and Yune for sure....who else is there?

While having the Engage Rings in FEH is cool, they are so fucking busted in terms a balancing. Marth was okay but immediately ramped it up to far. 5 space warp to any enemy is busted, put that on any form of Gulvige who can already act 3 times a turn now can just killed your entire time in one go thanks to the warp stopping the gravity penalty Gulgive gains after attacking.
Not to mention these engage units are locked behind time sensitive banners with color share, meaning if you don't whale or are super unlucky with banner pulls, you can't get a high ranking in the Arena which means less orbs for the fun characters you love.

What Is the Stack Effect? How to Calculate the Pressure Difference in the Shaft? | PE Fire Protection
The video discusses the concept of stack effect in buildings, which is caused by the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor air. The stack effect results in upward airflow in a building's vertical shafts when the outside air is more relaxed than the inside air and downward airflow when the outside air is hotter than the inside air. This leads to pressure differentials along the length of the stack, with areas of overpressure and underpressure creating a neutral plane where pressure remains equal. Understanding the stack effect is essential for building performance and can impact pressurization on different floors.
The video also explains how to calculate the stack effect, like the buoyancy concept. The height of the neutral plane in a building's vertical shaft can be calculated based on factors like temperature and the height of the stairwell. It is important to note that the neutral plane may not always be in the middle of the shaft and can vary based on different factors. Understanding the stack effect is crucial for managing airflow and pressurization in buildings.

Ok as long as I'm also begging God to shape games in my favorite series [plural] in a specific way. Please for the love of fuck let the next fire emblem game (not counting the genealogy remake if that is indeed happening. the next original one whenever that is) PLEASE take notes from Engage's gameplay and not 3H's
please I'm fucking begging Engage had the best gameplay the series has seen in forever I don't care what they do with the story and supports and everything but if they choose to make the gameplay more like 3H than engage just because 3H sold well I WILL find out who made that decision, break into their house and decapitate myself in front of them while their family tries to eat breakfast

idk this felt like an interesting question in my head so might as well make a Poll!!!
in an fe game on the final map, do you take the time to reset to save a character, even if you won’t be needing any of them once the map is complete?
there are probably some other options i failed to consider, so feel free to elaborate in the tags/replies (and just pick which option best relates to your choice)

I was reading the page on Jill (path of Radiance), and read that she could (and often would) defect if the player sent her to face her father, and had an "oh yah that used to be a thing sometimes" moment.
That could have been intresting to see put into action in the Fates and Houses games. For Fates that could have added to Revelations in particular. Just picture Saizo or Kagero attacking Ryoma only for him to go "WTF are you doing? You are my retainers! It's your job to protect me." And they go "oh yah. That is our job." And imeadeatily defect, and only rejoin later when he does. Except, you know. More seriousness.
For Houses, there would probably be a lot of thought put into who would evoke which reaction from what character, but it would also be really intresting worldbuilding, for one set of characters to face off against each other and have teary goodbyes, but facing off a different friend has your character go "so long and thanks for all the gear" and defect. It could be prevented with the right supports, but with the amount of supports in the game being numerous the player initally has no idea why that went diffrently.
Kind of an intresting gameplay ballance, as the player can go around recruiting almost everyone, to give the opposition a chance to recruit their units back.
I would give Lord's a chance to recruit, and give Edelgard the most conditions needed to fulfill a rerecruitment (as she is the lord with the most reserve), and Dimitri and Claude I'm torn on. Claude is the one with the most supports, but Dimitri is good at inspiring personal loyalty. I'd probably say that there are recruitment conditions the lords need to fulfill first.
I'd love it to have -"a different enemy character must talk to them first"-before the recruitment attempt, but that makes it hard to have happen on subsequent playthroughs, as you can just recruit the prior class.
Felix is not recruitable by a Blue Lion if he kills his father or any of his friends (as by then he is locked into his negitive character arc).
It would probably have been really base breaking and inspired reset had it actually implamented, as players would hate their well trained units defecting and fighting them, as well as cause shipping discourse, but storywise could have been an intresting angle to explore.

💚 for lukas for the valentines ask game :0
The Day of Devotion is usually a quiet one for Lukas, but after joining the Deliverance, the others make it a lot more lively. Usually, he prefers spending the day peacefully reading or training by himself. The moment Python catches wind that he’s not the celebrating type, he and Forsyth latch onto him for the duration of the day. Some years he can still have a restful day in the library, but other years are full of rowdy games and drinking outings.
Tumblr media
Lukas quickly gains a reputation for being one of the more well-read members of the army, and is surprised to find a line of suitors asking for his help on writing a poem for their beloved. He’s excited to share his knowledge and interests, recommending certain poets/verses for the suitors to read as inspiration. He gives a few pointers about writing, and looks over the drafts they bring to him. Whether this is before or after his teaching careers, it becomes clear he’s got a knack for it. He always checks in a few days later to ask how the poem went over with its muse.
Tumblr media
Throughout his life, he’d looked forward to satisfying his sweet tooth on the holiday. As a child, he would ask his parents for extra sweets to give out to a special someone, then hide away and eat them himself. Vendors always sell an even greater variety of desserts around that time. His friends share with him gifts of pastries and chocolates that they received. Though he always feels about receiving gifts/love letters/confessions that he has to turn down, his guilty pleasure is enjoying the treats regardless. Now, he gets lectures from Forsyth about avoiding a stomach ache, but those speeches often grow quieter with a mouth full of shared cookies…
