Bits that make me scream

Vegas putting his gun in his non-dominant hand because Pete shot him to keep him from using his gun hand. He expects to die right here but Korn of course won't even let him have that.

Kinn and Pete paralleling, asking Porsche and Vegas not to pull a gun on Korn in exactly the same way.

Pete wanting to run after Vegas immediately but realizing that he has to do this properly to appease Korn and for his own sense of duty to some extent.

Pete thanking Korn for his mercy in not killing Vegas - yeah this one breaks me. Legitimately if any character in the entire series should be the next head of the mob, it's Pete.

I consider this one long, perfect scene.

Something something about characters that are so afraid of being alone and will find love wherever they can, accept crumbs of it, including being neglected/mocked/bullied/abused and perceive it as banter or even love. Characters who feel like the only way they can accomplish such thing is with their servitude and/or body because they're not used to being loved just for their personality or for free...

Prompt 8-Favorite Scene -part 1

There are 6 people whose goddamn lives are falling apart in this scene(well, more than they already had) and then there's Korn, playing puppet master.

I'm firmly in the "Nampheung is faking it completely" school. I think everything about her body language screams that she's holding herself back because Korn is such a threat to the people she loves. She does not move behind him, pretending to be in the state he claims until Porsche calls her Ma and she realizes that's her boy.

Also, something neat, though I don't know if was an intentional acting choice or not. When Nampheung is trying to figure out the best way to handle this, her eyes move constantly from side to side, something that Porsche also does when he's trying to assess a situation and figure out the best way to handle it.

ETA-When Nampheung goes over to Korn she grabs his gun arm...lightly but she keeps her hand on it until his focus is off Porsche and back onto Gun. I don't think that was an accident because when he's arguing with Gun she is clutching her dress like she wants to grab his arm again and has to physically restrain herself. She can only protect one of them and she chose Porsche (rewatching this scene over and over puts me also firmly in the - she did love Gun school of thought)

Bits that get me screaming

Kinn's constant little disappointed, despondent, disbelieving head shakes. Sorry, brah but no matter how many times you do it, it's not gonna make your father any less of a monster or any of this not true.

Porsche grabbing his head because Korn and Gun arguing is making him flashback to that day again.

YES!! thank you so much for the ask!!

soooo basically the whole idea behind it was “i wanna let the yttd cast hang out and be friends with no death game but also their characters are so shaped by the experiences they go through in canon and i want them to be able to get closure/recover and such.” it’s super self indulgent, basically just a setup to Put Them In Situations with each other

(rest is under the cut cause this got really long whoops)

so! here’s the basic premise: everyone involved in the death game wakes up back in time before it all happened, with full memories of everything (up to the end of 3-1B or the time of their death.) dummies retain memories of everything their dolls/ais experienced, but they’re back in their real bodies. everyone who died has scars on their bodies that line up with the wounds that killed them (only the human wounds in the case of the dummies). kanna/reko route. asunaro characters that we met are also back in time, but asunaro as an organization completely vanishes and they’re left on their own to figure out what to do. asunaro wishes have come true, so alice is let out of prison and q-taro is healed and such.

but that’s really just the setup!!! i have a like 18 page document that just covers the story from there which i won’t really get into here but if you’re interested it includes such things as:

Keiji getting a job as a bartender and his bar becoming a hangout place for Alice, Q-taro, and sometimes Kai

Shin becoming an honorary member of the Kizuchi family and spending lots of time with Kanna and Kugie

Shin getting fired from his convenience store job and becoming keiji’s roommate while his mental health recovers enough to find a new job (the idea of them helping each other heal and move on is just so interesting to me considering how similar they are. they can fix each other (not really) <3)

Alice and Reko reconciling and Alice getting involved in Reko’s band again. Also rekonao is real ofc

Kai and Sara know each other now, so Kai is actually able to interact with her and becomes a kind of older brother figure

Sara, Joe, Ryoko, Ranmaru, Anzu, and Kugie are a big friend group now (ofc) and they like go to karaoke and play video games and stuff. also they hang out at Mai’s bread shop

AND MUCH MORE!!!! i have at least a little bit written for every single character lol. the big stories i focus on are mostly the high school friend group, keiji and shin, and reko and alice.

sorry this post got really long!!!! but that’s the basic stuff!!!
