OC-Tober Day 7

Maie! I know yesterday I said that there's a big difference between active OCs and designs sitting in the back, and that IS true, BUT it doesn't mean I cant bring them back for this if I feel inclined.

This fellow was an NPC in a long-ish Fate game I ran for a few friends in 2019. They showed up as this kind of mysterious stranger, but ended up being a good ally to the players. The campaign was fun while it lasted, and the npcs from it will likely remain retired... But who knows, maybe a Maie equivalent will show up in my works someday.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Fate

this seems to be one that a lot of ppl who were kids in 2005 or so seem really fond of the child proportions + adult faces are really somethin';;;

i flipped through some of the randomly generated names and settled on "Eck" i apparently forgot to screencap, but i picked a cat named "Jek" (also randomly generated) Eck and Jek, on the prowl (the function of the pet seems very similar to the pets in Torchlight, so i have a feeling the overall game will have a similar vibe?) i wonder if all the purple text will be explained?

at first i thought it was just highlighting proper nouns, but nope... maybe it's just highlighting key words to be able to be skimmed quickly? i guess that's kinda helpful shouts-out gimbo tel

really enjoying that there are friendly undead NPCs w/zero explanation; this town is just that chill omg bird alert too??? Fate's NPC game is easily 11/10

did some dungeoning & then returned to town when prompted-- (shouts-out bloodhammer the ancient)

didn't complete any quests or anything, but just wanted to get a feel for things overall seems like casual fun, i'll prob poke at it again~

i ended up quitting this Khimera puzzle for another time--idk if i'm so much stuck as just sleepy. but getting stuck at picross is pretty rare for me 🤔 LATER: ????? once again, KPI apparently did not actually close as i moved on to other games;; how does this keep happening, i thought for sure i exited??

did some more Euclidean Skies puzzles i am really having some issues with the unresponsive controls (i thought i was stuck, but it turns out i just...clicked wrong? i guess? sometimes clicks do stuff, sometimes they don't 🙃 very fiddly. i guess this really was meant to be played with touch controls) but gosh i just love looking at it
