Personal loans in Australia Introduction Personal loans in Australia are a great way to finance a range of different needs. Whether you’re looking to purchase a car, consolidate debt, or make a major purchase, a personal loan like “EFT Capital non resident loan” can provide the funds you need. In Australia, personal loans are provided by a variety of lenders, including banks, credit unions, and online lenders. Each lender has different terms and conditions, so it’s important to shop around and compare different offers to find the best deal. When applying for a personal loan, you’ll need to provide some basic information, such as your income, expenses, and credit history. The lender will next review your application and make a decision about whether to approve your loan or not.
The amount you can borrow, the interest rate you’ll be charged, and the repayment terms will depend on your individual circumstances. Generally speaking, the more information you can provide, the better your chances of getting a good deal. It’s important to remember that personal loans are a form of debt, so you should only borrow what you can afford to repay. Before taking out a loan, it’s a good idea to create a budget and make sure you can make the repayments on time. Personal loans can be a great way to finance a range of different needs, but it’s important to do your research and shop around to find the best deal. With the right information and a bit of patience, you can find a loan that meets your needs and helps you achieve your financial goals.
When is the right time to buy a home in Australia?
Buying a home is a major financial decision and one that should not be taken lightly. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of when is the right time to buy a home in Australia.
The right time to buy a home depends on your individual circumstances and goals. Before you decide to buy a home, it is important to consider the current economic climate, your financial situation, and your lifestyle.
It is also important to consider the long-term implications of buying a home, such as the cost of maintenance, taxes, and other expenses. When it comes to the current economic climate in Australia, the housing market has been relatively stable in recent years. Interest rates have been low, and the Australian economy has been performing well.
This has made it easier for people to purchase homes, and the market has been relatively strong. However, it is important to remember that the housing market can be unpredictable and can change quickly. It is important to have a plan in place to protect yourself from potential market fluctuations.
This could include saving for a down payment, having a contingency fund, and researching the area you are interested in buying in. Your financial situation is another important factor to consider when deciding when to buy a home. It is important to make sure you are in a financial position to comfortably afford the home you are interested in.
This includes having enough saved for a down payment, a good credit score, and a stable income. It is also important to consider your lifestyle when deciding when to buy a home. If you are looking for a home that will accommodate your family’s needs and provide a comfortable living space, you may want to wait until you are in a better financial position to purchase a larger home. If you are looking for a home to rent out, you may want to consider the rental market in the area you are interested in.
Ultimately, the right time to buy a home in Australia is when you are in a good financial position and have a plan in place to protect yourself from potential market fluctuations. It is important to consider the current economic climate, your financial situation, and your lifestyle when deciding when to buy a home.
If you are considering buying a home in Australia, it is important to do your research and speak to a financial advisor to ensure you are making the right decision for your individual circumstances. Buying a home is a major financial decision and one that should not be taken lightly.
Why do rents continue rising despite falling property prices? It can be difficult to understand why rents continue to rise despite falling property prices. This is an important question to consider, as it can have a significant impact on both renters and landlords. Rents are typically determined by the market, which is driven by supply and demand. When demand is high and supply is low, rent prices tend to increase. This is because landlords can charge more for a limited number of properties. On the other hand, when demand is low and supply is high, rent prices tend to decrease. This is because landlords have to compete for tenants and lower their prices to attract them. However, even when property prices are falling, rents may continue to rise. This is because of the lag between the two markets. Property prices are determined by the sale of properties, which can take months or even years to complete. During this time, rents may continue to rise due to the current demand for rental properties. Another factor that can contribute to rising rents is inflation. As the cost of living increases, so too do rents. This is because landlords must cover their costs and make a profit. If the cost of living increases, landlords will need to increase their rents to cover their costs and make a profit. Finally, rents may continue to rise even when property prices are falling due to the cost of maintenance and repairs. As properties age, they require more maintenance and repairs. This can be expensive for landlords, and they may need to raise rents to cover these costs. Overall, rents may continue to rise even when property prices are falling due to a number of factors. These include the lag between the two markets, inflation, and the cost of maintenance and repairs. It is important to understand these factors in order to make informed decisions about renting or investing in real estate.

His Inheritance ~ Chapter 35 Preview
Tumblr media
Coming soon...
"You are almost ready," Yelena said with a smile, just after the stylists left. "Now the jewelry."
You paused, looking at your reflection in the mirror. Your gown was an exclusive creation by a top designer, a beautiful sleeveless, a-line creation in layers of tulle, sequins, and matte satin. Shades of pale blue and gold transformed you, enhanced by the ornate way your hair was done, the subtelty of your carefully applied makeup. Beneath you wore the most elegant little gold heels that were surprising comfortable despite their minimal style. The stockings were sheer, hugging your upper thighs just below the skimpy ice-blue panties you wore.
The mention of jewelry brought up an unhappy memory and you knew Yelena recalled it too when your gaze met hers. How your husband's ex-mistress smuggled her necklace in for you to wear on another special occasion had never been solved.Had it been Neal? Hansen? A reminder from the not-too-distant past that your enemies could reach you at any time. A reminder to be vigilant.
"What jewelry?" you asked carefully.
Yelena smiled. "I picked it up myself," she told you, lifting a delicate strand of diamonds set in gold from a black velvet box on the bed.
When she draped it around your throat, you smiled at the way it completed your look. There were matching earrings, diamond studs each with a teardrop diamond dangling and catching the light. The set was exquisite.
"Harry Winston," your friend told you, admiring how they looked on you.
"Nice of them to loan them to us for the ball," you told her, grateful you got to wear them.
Yelena reached for the golden mask on the bed, holding it to you. "No loan. Steve bought them."
What?
"These must have cost a fortune," you mused. They probably cost more than everything else you owned combined. "Glad you're going with us. I'd hate to get mugged for these."
Yelena grinned. "Security is going to be tight already with the mayor there, one of the state senators. So many wealthy, important people like you."
That had you scoffing. "I'm no one special. At least not in the world of such important, political figures."
"But you are," Yelena told you. 'The fact that everyone wants you has been a powerful motivator in this game of chess. Your husband is completely devoted to you. Barnes would love to get his hands on you."
"Barnes would ring my neck the first chance he got," you pointed out.
Yelena's expression was difficult to read. "I'm not so sure about that."
"Hansen would for sure kill me," you said, putting your mask in place carefully. A soft mask of golden sequins that fit over your eyes.
Yelena's gaze dropped at the mention of that name and you were ashamed. You needed to work harder not to bring that up to her. And you needed a subject change. Fast.
"Who's going to be here with Nat tonight?" You weren't surprised Nat didn't want to go. She'd been through so much between the horrific end of her abusive marriage and all trauma of years being left to the sadistic nature of Banner. You wanted to make sure she was well looked after while you and Steve were gone.
"Clint is staying here of course," Yelena said quietly. "Dyson will be here too. He's arranged for extra security for the house tonight."
You nodded your approval. "What about Scott?"
"He's coming with us," Yelena explained.
That had you smiling. Sure, Scott would keep you and Steve safe, but he also got time with Yelena. You were pretty sure Yelena knew Scott's infatuation with her. Would she ever return his affections? You didn't know. Considering her tragic history, you weren't sure she could feel the same way towards him or anyone. But since you'd known Scott, you learned he was a good man who always had your back and never once questioned your authority. You trusted him with your life. You trusted him with Yelena, too.
But would she ever give him - or anyone - a chance after all that she'd been through?
You blew out an exhale, preparing yourself for the night ahead. "I guess we should let Steve know that I'm ready."
"He knows," a deep voice caught you and Yelena both off guard.
Your husband strolled into the bedroom and Yelena stepped back to allow him a clear path to you. He looked breathtakingly handsome in the classic black tuxedo he wore, tailored perfectly to fit his tall, broad-shouldered physique. His tawny hair was perfectly styled, diamond cufflinks winking in the light. His tie was shades of gold and blue to match your gown, a subtle touch but one you appreciated.
Steve moved to stand behind you in the mirror of your vanity, bending to fit his handsome face in the reflection with yours.
"You look so beautiful," he said with something like reverence in his voice. "I can't wait to show you off."
"I'll be downstairs," Yelena said, making her way out to give you some privacy. "We worked very hard on her, boss. Don't mess her up."
Steve smiled at what he took as a playful warning, his large hands smoothing over your bare shoulders. Slowly, you removed the mask, placing it in your lap with your hands. His watchful gaze didn't miss the slight tremble of their movements.
"Everything is going to be fine," he explained. "I've been to this event before. All the rich, politic elite of Boston come out dance and drink the night away and wallow in excess. It's probably Tony's favorite night of the year."
You could see it. And you were excited to go to the annual masquerade ball, as Steve's wife and not his trophy, and to enjoy a fabulous night on the town. You felt like Cinderella, going to the ball in the gown that truly looked as if magic had created it.
But you couldn't fight back an impending sense of dread. It had been so quiet in the weeks of your recovery and Steve's. Life went on. You were included in all the family's business meetings. The family business had recovered and was branching out, deals with three of the other four families made things even better.
Not that you agreed with all of it. You weren't crazy about the loan sharking or protection deals the family made. The casinos and restaurants didn't bother you as much. And at least the family wasn't making any money off drugs or trafficking. Some of the stories you heard now that you were more involved were just horrified. You made up your mind early that no matter what, you'd never allow the family to make money off the misfortunes of women and children. Never.
It had been very quiet where the Barnes family was concerned. Too quiet.
"I'll  be the envy of every man there tonight," he murmured, pressing a kiss into your neck. The soft brush of his beard made you shiver.
A sensual smiled curved Steve's lips. "Are you ready?"
You nodded. You trusted your husband. You were going to do your best to have a wonderful night, just like he intended.
And still that little kernel of dread lingered.
You felt like you were in an old Hollywood movie to walk down the staircase on your husband's arm with the gown flowing softly with your movements. Honestly, you were grateful for Steve's help in keeping you balanced, relieved when you made it to the bottom of the stairs.
Dyson, Yelena, Scott, Clint and Nat were a small crowd, watching in admiration as you approached. Nat's smile was all you needed to feel like you got the look right. Her lovely green eyes lit up as her gaze swept over you.
"You look perfect," she exclaimed, carefully hugging you. "I knew that gown was the one."
Nat had been the one to find it when the two of you went out shopping. And you were all too happy to give her the credit. You knew very little about fashion, seasons, all of it. You would learn. But until you did, it was nice to have the advice of someone who already understood it.
As Nat stepped back, you forced yourself to smile. She still looked so small, so frail. She had yet to gain weight and regain her amazing figure. Your sister-in-law seemed fragile, even with the protection and love of the man she'd always wanted. Even with the full support and love of her brother. It worried you.
Dyson looked worried too, but as you did, he put on a quick smile. "You two had best get going. The line at dropoff takes forever."
"True enough," Steve said, nodding to Yelena and Scott.
You stopped to hug Dyson. "Keep her safe for me," you whispered.
"You know I will," he muttered.
Steve whisked you away to the sleek black limousine waiting in the driveway. Scott climbed in behind the wheel and Yelena rode shotgun as Steve got you into the back seat, helping you keep your gown away from the doors. Once you were settled, you studied your husband. Something was missing.
"Did you bring a mask?" you asked him.
Steve smiled, pulling a small black mass from inside his tuxedo coat. No sequins, just a matte black mask he could wear. But he wasn't interested in the mask as he fidgeted with it. He was too busy staring at you.
"Are you excited?" he asked.
You couldn't help the smile that question brought on. "Yes."
Steve looked pleased. "As time goes on and things settle down, we'll get out more. Do more things like this. You look like a fairytale princess tonight."
Tears pricked at the backs of your eyes at his heartfelt words. He meant them. He was taking you out to a society function, dressed you up like you were going to the fucking Oscars. A night out like nothing you'd ever experienced before. You'd been excited since he told you he got the tickets two weeks ago.

"This event ends the moment you write us a check, and it better not bounce, or you're a dead motherfucker" -- Big Bill Hell
There was a time when you'd see little old ladies paying for the groceries with a hand-written personal check, holding up the line, causing an immediately-forgiven slight sense of annoyance with those behind her. Buddy. Those days are over. They've been over. What, did you think you were going to just pop a couple extra zeroes on the end of your paycheck there? Maybe scan your paycheck, open it in photoshop, make a template, print em out all nice? You think you're the first to think of that, dipshit?
It takes the law a long time to catch up with the state of the art. You're reading this on the internet, which means you never use checks. The law has caught up. Your ass will be going to prison immediately and you will see zero return.
You can't even kite checks anymore, and hell, nobody under 40 will even know what that means, due to the blazing fast, two day settlement on all ACH transactions. Let me paint you a picture.
You get paid on Friday, but it is Monday, and bills are due on Tuesday. And you're broke: $0 in the bank. Goose egg. Pop open your checkbook, go to a store, "buy" some things, write a check for the amount. The cashier takes it!
Now take those things you "bought", across town, to another store location, and return them for cold hard cash. Sweet. Bills paid. Friday rolls around, and you just make it to the bank to deposit your paycheck before it closes. After the weekend, the checks you wrote finally post, and they don't bounce! You've kited a check. You've surreptitiously taken a zero-interest loan. And we know your broke ass. The interest rate on that short-term payday loan should have been straight up usurious. We're talking 29%. That makes predatory fuckers like us horny for sex. We're so mad. Now you are going to Federal Prison. For a good minute. Fuckface.
COST: $0.10 (With banks offering free checking accounts + Bic pen)

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor sleet, if you fuck with the mail, we'll rip your nuts off" -- Ronald Mail (Inventor of Mail)
Many people have this misnomer that the most powerful people in politics are democratically elected. The president, of the United States, of America, is a stupid cartoon hotdog. All of them, I don't care. Way less clout than you'd think. Brilliantly, it is the people that the hotdog president appoints who are actually doing anything significant. The director of the CIA. The fucking chairman of the Federal Reserve. Probably the, like, most senior, uh, general of the military, and shit too. I don't know, we don't "do" army here at Bloomberg. You probably don't even know their names! I don't! These are the ones you should be seeing in your sleep.
There's another position like that. Appointed directly by the hotdog. The Postmaster General. That's a real title. He's the CEO of the mail, and buddy, what he may lack in political power relative to the director of the CEO, he makes up in raw sexual energy. Total Tom Selleck energy. Like an airline pilot. We're talking Donald Sutherland in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I'm tentpoling in my black business slacks just writing this, and all my Bloomberg newsroom bros are peering over my shoulder and also tent-poling. We're not gay though, and especially me, I'm probably the least gay, but sometimes I just lay awake for hours at night what that mustache would feel like pressed against my lips, the unbelievable and utter, total sense of security I'd feel burying my head into his hard chest.
You get it. He's your dad. And if you fuck with the mail, you've fucked with the tools in your dad's garage. And dad's been drinking. You're in for it, bucko, you are in trouble. Do you think the United States Postal Service actually makes any money? Hell no. It costs like five bucks to mail a box basically anywhere I can think of and they give you the boxes for free. You can just walk in the post office and take them. I do that, and then just throw them away, I don't know why, some kind of compulsion. Being able to move shit around like this, quickly, cheaply -- Jesus H, I've got a huge amount of money in my bank account, probably tens of trillions of dollars (due to financial knowledge gained from reading Bloomberg articles) and I could probably mail every single person ever something and still come out in the black.
No way pal. They've thought of that already. The Postmaster General is going to know every time, and he's going to grab you by the shirt collar, wearing his cool as fuck hat, and you're going to get your pants pulled down, and your bare ass spanke...I need to go use the restroom real quick.
We rely on the mail system to get important shit done. It's not something to be taken lightly, and it isn't. Trust me. This is why, like almost every other person who receives mail in this year 2023, I just fucking put a wastebasket under my mail slot. I don't even shred that shit anymore. I just burn it. Takes less time.
COST: $0.63 (Postal stamp)

"Can call all you want, but there's no one home // And you're not gonna reach my telephone // Out in the club, and I'm sipping that bubb // And you're not gonna reach my telephone" -- Lady Gaga
I read something wild that the children of today do not know what a dial tone is, because of how fucked up and stupid they are. Isn't that super fucked up?
While it's not really our style, allow me to fill you in on some ancient, arcane knowledge about the telephone. You can turn it on, and then you can punch in numbers. Any numbers. Random ones, or maybe not random ones. If the ten numbers you punch in are the same as the numbers in someone else's telephone number, their phone will ring, and then you are talking to them. This is called "Phreaking".
Here's the kicker: You can tell that jackass anything you want. "Oh, Hi, Yes, I am Reginald Sumpter calling from Avalon Consulting LLC, we are just following up on the invoice we sent you. Please remit to ###### routing ###### account."
BOOM! Your name isn't Reginald whatever and that company doesn't exist, but you just received a deposit. It's fucking beautiful. What have you done wrong? It isn't your responsibility to handle who your business' clients/etc are, it's their's. If they want to just pay you money for no real reason, well, that's kind of on them, isn't it? I haven't stuck a pistol in your face and demanded everything in the register.
Well, it's too clever. It's too slick. This is the United States of America. It's one thing to commit a felony like armed robbery, it's another thing to piss off someone in charge of the accounting division who uses a special bathroom you need a key to get into.
You can do it on the computer too, I use a PC Computer at work and send email, so you can see how it'd work there. You can make a document that is indifferentiable from a real invoice and, straight up, 1/3 of the time they will pay that shit. Lmfao.
It's called wire fraud because, uhh, duhhhh, there's wires. What do you think that thing is strung between the telephone receiver and the dialer? And computers? Give me a break. There's so many wires with those.
COST: $0.25 (Coin for payphone)

"People calculate too much and think too little." -- Charlie Munger
It is insane how dumb the common man can be when it comes to our world of expertise. I hear this same sentiment, like, ALL THE TIME:
"Durr hurr I will buy an insurance policy for my car or house or whatever so that in case something happens to it I will get money". And then that same person proceeds to drive safely or not burn their house down. Dumbest crap imaginable.
Let me break it down for you. Insurance is a two player competitive game. There is a winner and there is a loser. Go take out an expensive insurance policy on your American sports car. Buy a neck brace, a football helmet, and pack that bitch with throw pillows. Then get in the left lane of a major highway at like noonish, let it rip and then SLAM on your brakes. Hit from behind! Your fault! Congratulations. You have won insurance. How this gets past people is beyond me.
You can only do this once or twice before the insurance companies catch on. Then they don't want to fuck with you. It is also..I don't know man...something feels off about taking a car or a house, which like, some guy had to build and just destroying it, but that is only a weird emotional thing, since you're making money, more than whatever the destroyed thing is worth, so in reality you've built that house plus some extra. You've contributed.
COST: $106.00 (Average monthly car insurance payment)

Hi hi!! Kind of a random thought, but how would daddy!stucky deal with little!reader losing something super important to her?? I lost my glasses today and they were super important to me and not very cheap either :( they were my only pair so now I'm stuck without them and I've cried about it 363739 times. Now I'm dying for some daddy!stucky comfort bc I feel terrible and am so so sad about it :(((((
Hey babes! So I know I'm the worst for taking so so long to answer this, and I seriously hope I'm not reigniting bad feelings here, bringing attention back to this. If I am, please forgive me, and I know that I love you and want you to be happy.
I can tell you that if you lost something important to you, your daddies would move heaven and earth to find it. Forget Apple tags to find stuff- they've got spy gear and the ability to hack into every single camera on the freaking planet. It does not go missing for long.
This one time, you accidentally left Pipsqueak (your penguin stuffie) at Avengers Con. Captain America and the Winter Soldier had made a panel appearance and did some signing, and while they were onstage you were in the breakroom with Aunt Natasha, Wanda, and Pietro watching on the monitor. You'd been playing and giggling and having a great time, when Peter burst into the room, eager to show you all the gifts that people had given Iron Man. In the exuberance and chaos, somehow Pipsqueak got swept into a random bag of other gifts. The last panel was done, and your daddies were done signing, and it was best for all of them to make a quick retreat together. All personal bags got back to each caregiver, and the agents were going to follow later on with the rest of the paraphernalia.
You were back at home before you realized to your horror that Pipsqueak was missing. Steve held you while you sobbed, while Bucky started hacking his way into the security cameras from the hotel so fast he nearly set the screen on fire with his metal fingers. They saw one of the convention volunteers with Pipsqueak in her hands, and before you knew it, the three of you were back on the Quinjet to get to the penguin as fast as you could.
Once the situation was explained, the volunteer of course gave Pipsqueak to your Papa to give back to you. She had been trying to find the owner anyways, and was relieved.
Little did she know that her kindness and professionalism would result in her college loans being completely paid off instantly, as well as a starting position in SHIELD the moment she graduated. All courtesy of your very grateful daddies would truly would walk the world over to get you the blade of grass that you'd misplaced.

codywan week 2024 day 4 prompts, sol edition: video game au, "subtle" witty banter during the war
notes: this is maybe the most niche au ive ever written. fellas, the bar was on the floor and i have laid down on top of it. welcome to sol's codywan overwatch au. if you haven't played overwatch or don't know the lore, don't worry! most overwatch players don't know the lore either :) this can stand alone, mostly. huge thank-you to @calamity-aims for being my sounding board and giving me so much inspiration by being in the batshit au corner with me. title from white roses by glass animals

cross-posted to ao3
All this could have been avoided if Cody had been allowed to pick the infil site. Their landing had been rough but serviceable—the pilot, who only answered to “Kit,” had been grinning and cracking jokes to ease up nerves even as he evaded turret fire and nearly strafed them into the ocean. They’d gotten into the control center all the same, even if Kit had to stay behind with the JEDI heavy to repair the shielding system.
“Commander, these numbers are all wrong,” Crys hissed. “I can take out the security feeds, but this base is way farther along than we thought it was. I mean, we were expecting the turrets and a couple OR14 tanks on top of the usual. But this is—”
Cody exchanged looks with their “combat medic.” In the SEP, that really meant “this medic will make sure you don’t die, and he’s going to do that by killing the other guy first.” Kix had the steadiest hands of any soldier Cody had worked with, whether they were on the scalpel or a biotic rifle. The other medic was another JEDI loan, a woman who wore a combination of robes and light body armor.
“We’re running out of time,” Cody finally said. “We won’t get another chance to destabilize the Donghae Omnium. This mission is critical to the war effort.” They wouldn’t have sent Cody otherwise—though Cody had his suspicions about that. The higher-ups were fond of sending SEP soldiers into situations with unwinnable odds. Their own homegrown, red-eyed time bombs.
Gregor, another SEP soldier like Cody, laughed and thumped the front of his power armor. “De oppresso liber, Commander. Overwhelming odds is the name of the game. Hey, you think I could beat 17’s KIR on this one?”
“If you think you can take out more omnics than times you get incapacitated, feel free,” Kix said, dry as anything. “Much less top the Strike Commander.”
“Feedback loop established,” Crys murmured, catching Cody’s eye. He’d gone through SEP like Cody and Gregor, but every soldier took to it a little differently. Cody had gotten an even spread of improved reflexes, metabolism, strength, and speed. Gregor’s enhancements had maxed out his strength and metabolism, letting him shake off hits that would kill or cripple an unenhanced human. Crys’ were subtler; he was even faster than Cody, if not as strong, and the chems had somehow boosted his cognitive performance. They’d made it possible for him to undergo cybernetic procedures that would have been deemed much too risky for any unenhanced human.
“We’re in?” Cody checked the safety on his pulse rifle.
“Affirmative. We’ll be going in hot. Patrol patterns will only get tighter as we near the control room. And—” Crys grimaced, electric blue eyes flashing with computerized input. “—if we can’t find an exit fast after we secure the central control hub…”
Cody nodded. “Kit and Sgt. Drallig will secure our exfil.”
“I’m tapped into the alarm system, but there’s a chance for it to be tripped manually,” Crys warned.
“Then we’ll take out any omnics we come across before they can get to it.” Cody gestured for his squad to move out.
Their movement further into the base was easy. Too easy. Every one of them was on high alert yet they still didn’t see the ambush until they tripped it—a full squadron of OR14s blockading the corridor with not one or two but three fucking Bastion turrets and a shielding unit for the whole goddamned party. Fun for all ages.
Then the second wave of war machines flooded into the corridor behind them in a pincer attack that would have made 17 cry big ugly tears of joy, and the mission was officially FUBAR.
Cody was about to start making his peace with the world at large when the razor-sharp head of an arrow sprouted from the chassis of the OR14 tank bearing down on him. He stared, mouth dry and tasting of char and blood. Sizzling blue light arced along its shaft and the OR14 buckled as its electrical systems shorted out.
“I’m hit!” Crys shouted over comms. Gregor was holding their backline and going toe to toe with another pair of OR14 tanks for his efforts. But this wasn’t a sustainable position. And even with SEP enhancements, they couldn’t hold forever.
“I’ve got you.” Kix swore viciously over comms as he ducked behind cover, half-dragging Crys behind him.
They hadn’t even gotten to the control room yet. Much less secured it. Whoever had given Overwatch HQ the stats on this base, they’d been lying out of their ass. Cody resolved to get back to Geneva just to wring necks over it. Let alone—
“You should not have let your guard down,” an imperious voice said. A tall man hauled Cody up like he weighed as much as a kitten. His face was half covered by an armored cowl but dark eyes and heavy eyebrows were furrowed in a scowl at him. Innocuous against his Japanese-style body armor and shoulder quiver of high-tech arrows, a head of auburn-bleached hair gleamed in the harsh LEDs of the control base.
Cody’s pulse rifle got slapped back into his hands and it felt like his brain got rebooted at the same moment. “Who the hell are you?”
“The man that is about to save your life,” the archer replied. “You have the technology to disable the control room once you breach it then, yes?”
“This is a classified—”
“Good.” The archer nodded. He had the gall to wink at Cody over the cowl. “You don’t have to spill all of your secrets yet, Commander. I like my allies a little more… long-lasting.”
Bloody hell. Cody grinned despite himself and wiped the blood off his brow from where a stray shard of shrapnel had almost taken his eye out. “Talk after. Take out the control room now.”
“That kind of forthrightness is what I like to see in a man,” the archer purred as he nocked an arrow and drew his bow. The weight on that thing had to be over forty, forty-one kilos, but the man did it easy as breathing.
Another fighter—especially one as good as this archer—made all the difference. He took down an OR14 from around a corner without breaking a sweat. Half his shots connected in ways that seemed to bend the laws of physics—scatter arrows, rebounds, trick shots from across the entire fucking corridor, all while the man flipped and twisted through the air like an Olympic acrobat.
Crys was able to break open the central hub after a round of healing nanite injections from Kix. Gregor held the doors as their point of defense while Crys uploaded a series of viruses that would cripple the omnium’s comms network and foul their navigations systems, rendering them ducks in a barrel when the local MEKA forces swept in to wipe the rest of the base out.
All this while the archer trashed different parts of the server room alongside Cody, wrecking hardware and banks of data drives. He took an inordinate amount of glee from swinging his bow into monitors and kicking through holographic projectors.
“I’ll clear you a path out,” the archer said when he was done.
“How do I know you’re gonna make it out after me?” Cody asked and checked the charge left on his magazine. They could make it out. This was far from the desperate last stand Cody had thought they’d be making. All thanks to—
The archer hesitated, gloved hands flexing on the grip of his bow. “Is this you asking for my number, Commander? I’m not usually so easy as all that.”
“I can’t buy you drinks if I don’t even know your name or how to contact you,” Cody replied. He stepped closer even as every instinct he had screamed at him to step away, that this man was—somehow—more dangerous than any omnic or tank. “And I’m not the kind of man to leave a dept unfulfilled.”
“No debt,” the archer murmured, dark eyes studying Cody’s face intently. He reached out to brush the tips of his gloved fingers across Cody’s brow, where the shrapnel had torn his face open. It was already clotted and healing, the too-hot feel of inflammation telling Cody that his body was working overtime to seal the wound. “You should get this looked at. Unless you want a dashing scar as a keepsake of our time together. But you don’t seem to be a sentimental man, Commander.”
“I might surprise you.” Cody caught the archer’s wrist, studying him in turn. His roots were showing under the bleach job. They were as ink black as his eyebrows. Thin crow’s feet lined his dark and narrow eyes, expressive for all that the cowl hid his mouth and nose. He hadn’t noticed the curved sword strapped to his back until now. On first guess, it might have been a katana—but Cody didn’t know enough about swords to identify it at a glance. Strangely archaic weapons for such a skilled fighter. It only made Cody hungrier—for more time, more intel, a greedy wish to see his face uncovered.
“Ben,” the archer finally said. “I don’t doubt that, Commander. I… travel often. But you’ve made a convincing argument for those drinks.” He plucked a thin, metallic token out of some hidden pocket and tucked it into a pouch on Cody’s tac belt with nimble fingers. The feel of Ben’s hand on his belt had a thrill of—something running through him.
“That’s Drallig on the line,” Crys said into comms, voice oddly strangled. “Exfil secured.”
“Move out,” Cody barked. He took a hasty step back from Ben, who only smiled—if the wrinkling by his eyes meant anything. “You have an exit?”
“Commander,” Ben purred, nocking another one of his strange and sparking arrows, “let’s just say… my backdoor is very well secured.”
Kix let out a strangled noise. He had one of Crys’ arms over his shoulders, the slicer looking like he’d lost a little too much blood as they’d lingered in the control room.
“Wipe that smirk off your face, Lt.,” Cody barked as he passed Gregor. “We have an exit to make.”
“Sir yes sir.” Gregor saluted him with one of his hulking rotary cannons and the comm line exploded into laughter.
Back at base, Cody suffered 17’s scrutiny while his face was sutured back together in a medic’s tender loving care. He had healed too fast, sealing in the shrapnel. The wound needed to be sliced back open, cleaned, and then stitched together again.
“Yeah, that’s gonna scar,” 17 said with a vicious laugh.
Pot. Kettle.
“You recognize this?” Cody flipped 17 the token “Ben” had left him with.
17 caught it out of the air and turned it over in one big hand. His face was unreadable—but maybe that was all the scarring. He’d no doubt already read Cody’s brief. “I knew you’d left something out. You’re a shit liar, kid.”
“That’s a yes.” If 17 knew who Ben was… and Ben had known Cody by name—not unusual in and of itself. Cody was a high-ranking soldier in a global peacekeeping force fighting against the worldwide invasion of the omnics. The Omnic Crisis was wreaking havoc on a scale never before seen but it was also engendering collaboration on an unprecedented level. MEKA, SEP, JEDI, Overwatch, the Crusaders, Volskaya… the best way to unite humankind was to give them a common enemy.
“Yeah. See this?” 17 held up the token so the light glinted off the strange symbol in the corner. It almost looked like a pair of dragons twined together—in an embrace or locked in battle, Cody couldn’t tell. “That’s old blood Yakuza. The Shimada clan. Word was that they all died out after the eldest son went batshit and murdered half the family. Bye-bye, little brother. Bye-bye, gramps. Man was set to succeed the throne of one of the most powerful crime families in East Asia. Instead he wiped them out in a matter of weeks and disappeared off the map.”
“How do you know…?”
17 tapped the token and slid it across the flimsy bedside table to rest by the head of Cody’s medical cot. “The twin dragons are a symbol of power and blood ties. Only the ruling heads of the family got ‘em as their insignia. Out of every high-ranking asshole in the Shimada Clan, only one survived the bloodbath. Take a guess, kid.”
Cody swallowed. The level of skill, the cutting-edge gear, the sharpness in Ben’s eyes… it made too much sense for him to reject it out of hand.
“Shimada the elder is bad fucking news,” 17 said flatly. “Any man that can betray his family like that—crime bosses or not—is a big fat warning sign. You hear me, Cody?”
Yes. Warning sign. Bad news. Danger. Absolutely. Cody saluted 17 and fought down his wince when the movement pulled at his stitches and bruises.
“Bloody hell,” 17 muttered, throwing his hands up in disgust. “Why do I even bother. You know what, kid, if you want to chase after rumors and ghosts, that’s your call. It’s not like I’ve got sixteen years of wisdom on you or anything.”
“Fifteen and a half,” Cody said and bared his teeth up at 17. Never let it be said that he wouldn’t hold his oldest brother to a certain standard of integrity and truthfulness.
“Fucking brat,” 17 muttered. But he scrubbed his knuckles over Cody’s curls in a way that meant affection for him and gave him a sharp nod. That was as good as a big shiny medal and a commendation, coming from 17.
After 17 left the room with the medic, Cody pulled the token over to him and gingerly laid back among his stiff medbay-issue pillows. The center of the metal token was smooth and slightly worn down. His own thumb fit perfectly into the imprint and the metal warmed to his touch.

So, in a chat about that last post regarding Dillinger taking the credit for Flynn's game development, I found myself saying: "He's got what it takes to write the 'doing our business is what computers are for!' kind of software. It's just hard to imagine him writing the fun kind."
...Which got me thinking about, more generally, the programs in Tron 1982, and how "fun" I'd say each one is.
in order of appearance:
---
SARK
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
User: Ed Dillinger, the guy who somehow convinced people he wrote some fun games.
Function: "command program"-- presumably some sysadmin software that's on shaky ground at the moment, largely being replaced by the MCP. Not a fun role.
Personality: Generally serious and angry-- but more capable of enjoying himself than you might think. Looks very grim during his introductory Lightcycle match, but afterwards genuinely excited about the potential challenge of future matches. Seems to be feeling pleasure and satisfaction of a sort, whenever he's at the podium with Master Control-- until, of course, MCP decided to "slow down his power cycles" as torture.
Fun: 4/10. Better than expected.
-----
CROM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
User: Mr. Henderson (a full branch manager!) We don't know anything about him, except that his program thinks this software theft is gonna make him "very angry."
Function: Compound Interest Program. Works at a Savings and Loan. Practically the definition of a stuffy, un-fun job.
Personality: Alternates between nervous and blustering in introductory scene; definitely not having fun there, although there's a bit of lightness in the way he protests at first. By the time he faces Flynn in combat, he's clearly gotten some sort of confidence boost. He's genuinely smiling and laughing in that fight, up until it kills him.
Fun: 6/10. Also managed to surprise me there.
----
RAM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
User: Popcorn Coworker (named Roy Kleinberg in later canon). Seems like a fun enough guy in later years, in the Next Day short, although also kinda scared at that moment. As of 1982, the only thing we knew about him was he asked Alan for some popcorn. I guess popcorn is pretty fun.
Function: Actuarial program at a big insurance company. Another stuffy math-nerd job-- although he describes it with an optimistic helping-people spin.
Personality: The most adorably friendly and personable program in there. So many smiles and laughs. Uses his death-weapon/personality backup as a drinking cup, and shares it with Flynn. Having fun even the one time we see him kill someone ("so long, sucker!") Smiling even when he's dying.
Fun: 9/10. Just the best little guy.
---
CLU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
User: Kevin Flynn. We all know him. Fun to a fault.
Function: I guess spyware, injected into Encom system to find a file. Could be a fun job-- looking for stuff, exploring.
Personality: For the on-Grid avatar of the indisputably most "fun" human in this movie, this guy is serious as HECK. Monotone, ultra-formal "yes sir" responses to everything Flynn says. Notably the only program shown to shed actual tears, which is achieved through extreme torture. Closest he comes to smiling is in the very last moment when it is 100% clear he is doomed.
Fun: 1/10 WTF.
TRON
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
User: Alan Bradley, serious programmer. So serious about work that he "doesn't even balance his checkbook on downtime." Does a fair amount of smiling and making jokes when off the clock, although the jokes tend towards the cynical ("more bugs than a bait store"; "can it send me to Hawaii?")
Function: Security program to monitor connections between systems. Troublingly close to cop. Anyone with that job who didn't take it seriously and tried to have fun with it would become a downright menace, really fast. Tron, however, takes it super seriously.
Personality: Serious as death when at work or trying to get back to work. Love and friendship can bring out a softer side, though. Capable of fun but has to be REALLY talked into it. (Yori only manages to seduce him into a circuit-touching session by making it into roleplay about his job.)
Fun: 5/10 but he's got the potential to be so much more
YORI
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
User: Lora Baines, laser scientist. Dedicated, smart, intense, gets things done. Brains of the whole break-in operation. Definitely has a wild fun side. Parked her van without paying because she wanted to use her coins for arcade games.
Function: Driver for the laser scanning hardware. Could be fun. Probably the first program who got to see an orange. I bet she tried to taste it.
Personality: As good at planning and getting things done as her creator. Definitely the brains of Tron's mission, the one he goes to for help operating all the machinery and navigating all the systems involved in reaching his goal. But ALSO super fun at the same time! Treats the slope down to the I/O dais like an amusement park slide, and jokes that she wants to go again. They made their plans in her quarters, which she illegally decorated in wild rainbow colors just for the fun of it, and then she dressed up in a sexy sparkle cape to convince Tron that circuit makeouts can be part of the planning.
Fun: 10/10 the FUNNEST. I wanna be best friends with her.

Degrowth is often associated with austerity, that we have to give up all the luxuries we have. But, not everything, I would say, and we also gain something instead. So, here’s my explanation. First of all, I’m not saying, as I said, that we have to give up all the technologies. I explicitly admit we need renewable energies and electric vehicles. These are the things that we need to develop even more. So, degrowth is not about going back to nature without any kind of Zoom, computer, iPhone, and so on. But at the same time, we have to question whether we need to buy a new iPhone every two years—that’s probably excessive, and we can repair things. Or another question would be, do we really need fast fashion? Do we need so much meat consumption? I’m not saying we should all be vegans immediately. But at the same time, we can start questioning whether our level of consumption might be actually excessive, and there are some people who are actually consuming much more in an excessive way, people that are super rich. So, first, advocate reducing economic inequality because the super rich do not simply exploit workers, but also they’re quite responsible for the current ecological crisis. The top 1% of rich people are responsible for 15% of carbon emissions. So, that’s something that must be reduced. For example, I advocate banning private jets. Do we really need so many private jets? And we should probably reduce cruise ships and industrial meat production. These excessive things must be reduced. That’s my first proposal. And the second proposal is, if we give up some of those things, we will have different kinds of abundance. I argue in my book that this will be an abundance of public goods. In the U.S., for example, education is commodified, and we have to pay a lot of money to go to university, and students have loans. Also, we have to pay a lot to go to a doctor because medical care is privatized and commodified. Public transportation is poor, so we have to buy cars, and we again have to have loans and so on. So, our entire economy is commodified, and that means that we have to pay for everything, no matter how necessary these things are for everyone. And so, you need money and have to work harder, but jobs are precarious; wages are low, so you work longer hours, and when you still don’t have enough money, you have little time to spend with your family and friends, and so you’re unhappy. So, my proposal is in a degrowth economy, all those basic services and goods must be decommodified. Education should be free. Medical care, public transportation, electricity—all these things should be as cheap as possible. And then you don’t really have to work so hard, and you don’t have to worry so much about your housing, future, and applications. These are the things that can make you feel much more happy and secure. That kind of public abundance can actually be realized without constant economic growth. Degrowth is a kind of new radical abundance.

Lauren Gambino at The Guardian:
Joe Biden has signed into law a bill that rushes $95bn in foreign aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, a bipartisan legislative victory he hailed as a “good day for world peace” after months of congressional gridlock threatened Washington’s support for Kyiv in its fight to repel Russia’s invasion. The Senate overwhelmingly passed the measure in a 79 -18 vote late on Tuesday night, after the package won similarly lopsided approval in the Republican controlled House, despite months of resistance from an isolationist bloc of hardline conservatives opposed to helping Ukraine. “It’s going to make America safer. It’s going to make the world safer,” Biden said, in remarks delivered from the White House, shortly after signing the bill.
“It was a difficult path,” he continued. “It should have been easier and it should have gotten there sooner. But in the end, we did what America always does. We rose to the moment, came together, and we got it done.” The White House first sent its request for the foreign aid package to Congress in October, and US officials have said the months-long delay hurt Ukraine on the battlefield. Promising to “move fast”, Biden said the US would begin shipping weapons and equipment to Ukraine within a matter of hours. Biden admonished “Maga Republicans” for blocking the aid package as Ukrainian soldiers were running out of artillery shells and ammunition as Iran, China and North Korea helped Russia to ramp up its aerial assault on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. Rejecting the view that Ukraine is locked in an unwinnable conflict that has become a drain on US resources, Biden hailed Ukraine’s army as a “fighting force with the will and the skill to win”. But the president also pressed the case that supporting Ukraine was in the national security interest of the US.
[...] In an effort to attract Republican support, the security bill includes a provision that could see a nationwide ban on TikTok. The House also added language mandating the president seek repayment from Kyiv for roughly $10bn in economic assistance in the form of “forgivable loans”, an idea first floated by Donald Trump, who has stoked anti-Ukraine sentiment among conservatives. Although support for the package was overwhelming, several Democrats have expressed their concern with sending Israel additional military aid as it prosecutes a war that has killed more than 34,000 people in Gaza and plunged the territory into a humanitarian crisis. Three progressive senators, Bernie Sanders, Peter Welch of Vermont and Jeff Merkley of Oregon, voted against the bill for its inclusion of military support to Israel.
On Wednesday, Biden called the aid to Israel “vital”, especially in the wake of Iran’s unprecedented aerial assault on the country. Israel, with help from the US, UK and Jordan, intercepted nearly all of the missiles and drones and there were no reported fatalities. The attack had been launched in retaliation against an Israeli strike on an Iranian consular site in Syria. “My commitment to Israel, I want to make clear again, is ironclad,” Biden said. “The security of Israel is critical. I will always make sure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself against Iran and terrorists who it supports.” Biden’s abiding support for Israel’s war in Gaza has hurt his political standing with key parts of the Democratic coalition, especially among young people. As he spoke, students at some of the nation’s most prestigious universities were demonstrating against the war. Biden emphasized that the bill also increases humanitarian assistance to Gaza, touting his administration’s efforts to pressure Israel to allow more aid into the devastated territory. But House Republicans added a provision to the bill prohibiting funds to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, Unrwa, a “lifeline for the Palestinian people in Gaza” that Israel has sought to disband.
President Biden signed a foreign aid package worth $95BN containing foreign aid for Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel and provisions to a TikTok ban.
The good: Ukraine and Taiwan funding. The bad: TikTok ban and Israel funding.

Want to Manage Loans and Credit? It's Easier Than You Think
Tumblr media
What is an individual credit you inquire? An individual advance or a credit can give repetitive funds to purchase ware things or something extraordinary, like an auto or a get-away. With cost for most everyday items pressures rising, various Australians are running nearly out of reserve funds and are going to individual credits as an approach to financing their monetary assumptions. Risking a credit with the littlest financing cost and cargo could save you great many bones.
Sorts of Advances and Credit
The different sorts of credits with various loan fees and charges:
payday loan can have high charges
Gotten Credits will generally have a much lower pace of interest since banks face less gamble

“Dave, wait, please, you’re going too fast.”
It’s uncanny how well the man moves in that dimly lit space. As if he’s intimately familiar with it, the layout imprinted in his mind.
The security guard halts. You finally reach his side again. It’s difficult to make out much of his features now. The light flickers and your breath hitches.
“Don’t worry. I know my way around.”
“You do? How often have you been here?”
“A fair few times.” You know he’s smiling even if you can’t quite see it. That odd smile of his that’s a little too wide, nearly on the verge of being creepy. That’s how everything with him is. He’s almost handsome except there’s something cruel in the line of his brow and the angle of his jaw and the way his mouth sets. Disdain for everything around him. Except when he looks at you. Then the harsh lines soften and his pale eyes darken.
He’s even almost charming at times, except there’s something unsettling buried beneath the polite and kind exterior. You’d initially just meant to pay him back for loaning you money. Somehow it’s become a deeper debt. He’s always around, every time you look up from whatever task you’re performing at work. You swear you hear footsteps following you in the mall parking garage sometimes, but when you turn around you don’t see anyone.
So why are you here with him now? Was it really just boredom? Curiosity? Why did he look at you sometimes as if he wanted to absolutely devour you? Why weren’t you more afraid?
“Maybe we should turn back,” you say uncertainly.
“Turn back? No, I don’t think so. We’ve come this far. It’s just a little ways down this hall, I promise.”
The flashlight finally surrenders and you gasp again, automatically reaching out, and Dave’s hand finds yours. His fingertips are calloused and his skin is very, very warm.
“I’ve got you,” he says.
***
Afton wishes he was lying.
The switch to restore power really is just ahead. He supposes he could take a detour. It’s just so pleasant being there with you in the darkness, in the place that’s always been his real home, better than any house he’s ever dwelled in. How soft your hand was in his. How long had it been since he’d held one. He closes his eyes and inhales deeply. Cherry blossom today. This may be a new favorite fragrance.
“I’ve got you,” he says, and that is very nearly the truth. He almost has you right where he wants you. So close. He thinks he can push you toward it. Just a gentle nudge. And if not, well.
He’d made plans for that as well.
He tugs and it pulls you off balance. Your body collides with his. You’ve never been so close to him before. He’s nearly drunk off the feel of it. And the sounds you make, those little gasps for air…how he savors every one of those. How he wants to make your struggle to breathe even louder, lost in the throes of whatever he’s doing to you with his hands or his mouth or…
Not yet. He’s waited this long. He can wait a little longer.
He moves forward and you keep pace with him. Finally reaches the wall and feels for the switch, shoving his weight upward. There’s a loud clanking sound as it slots into place and a sizzle as the electricity begins flowing throughout the building. The overhead fluorescents flicker on and his companion sighs with relief, releasing his hand. Pity, that.
“There we are. Ready to go have some fun?”
“Okay,” you say softly.
His grin widens.
***
There is a lot to explore.
You find it hard to imagine such a large place was just walled up, concealed for who knows how long and for who knows what reason.
You’ve never seen such a vast arcade. Such a huge variety. So many pinball machines and crane machines and lanes for skee ball. Dave helps you up onto the stage and lets you peek behind the curtain to view the animatronics. You’re not sure how you feel about them yet. They’re kind of neat, but kind of creepy.
Kind of like Dave himself, you think.
You admire the fading crayon drawings previous visitors have left behind, affixed to the checkerboard patterned walls. You wonder yet again why this place was abandoned. Was it simply not a marketable franchise anymore? Were people no longer impressed with the animatronic technology, seeking entertainment in digital and virtual forms instead, the advancing game technology making these pixel offerings obsolete? You think it’s somewhat tragic.
You wander back to the arcade area, Dave trailing behind, and decide on a game called Princess Quest. You thumb a quarter into the slot, disappointed when nothing happens.
“You can’t use regular money. You need one of these,” Miller says, handing you a Faz Token. The bronze colored disc has a picture of Freddy Fazbear waving and bears the slogan Are you ready for Freddy?
“Oh. Thanks.” You fit the coin into the slot and the title screen appears. “It’s working!”
“Told you so.” He moves beside you to watch you play. You haven’t done any retro gaming in a while but you think you do a decent job progressing until the Game Over message appears. “Not bad. Try again and I’ll help you.”
He takes your hand and presses another token into it, then moves behind you. You push the coin into the slot and position your right hand fingers over the buttons, the left on the joystick. You feel his hands slide over yours.
“I…I don’t think I can play like this…” you stammer nervously.
“Of course you can.” His head is bent, his lips by your ear. You can’t help but shiver at the feeling of his warm breath there, his mouth so close. “You’re too tense. You’re working against yourself.” His fingers move against yours, guiding you. You’d never noticed how long his fingers were before, how large his hands are. They dwarf yours, nearly swallowing them up. “That’s it. Better. Just relax. Let me do all the work.”
“Dave, I…” You don’t even know what to say. Your heart is pounding. He’s no longer pushing you into the controls. He weaves his fingers between yours. The Game Over screen reappears.
“Well it seems I’m a little out of practice,” he murmurs. You don’t think he’s looked at the screen even once this entire time. You hear him inhale deeply. “You must forgive me for saying this, but your scent is intoxicating. I can’t get enough of it.” He releases one of your hands and uses it to tuck a swathe of hair behind your ear, his face pressing against the side of your neck.
You’re too startled to even react. You’ve never had anyone touch you like this. You’ve had boyfriends, sure, but it had never been this…deliberately slow and sensual. Intimate. He’s so, so close. As if he wants to press himself into your skin.
Now he’s turning your face to his, fingers gentle but firm along your jaw. You allow it. You allow him to drag his thumb beneath your bottom lip, to press his mouth to yours.
It feels good.
This sensation is new for you, too. This isn’t the way a teenager kisses. This is a grown man old enough to be your father parting your lips and touching his tongue against yours. Your stomach somersaults and you feel a warmth spread lower.
Dave draws back, a little breathless, the eyes that look at you heavy lidded. He does indeed look intoxicated. And ravenous. You’ve never seen his eyes this black.
“Do you like it? Freddy’s, I mean,” he adds.
You nod, even though you don’t think that’s what he means at all.
***
You will never know the amount of restraint it takes to leave things there for now.
How much William wants to shove you against the machine and tear your clothing off and have his way with you right then and there.
But he wants to take his time with you. Savor you. So he forces himself to shut the power off again and lead you from the abandoned pizzeria. For now, you’ll be safe. You’ll see the sunlight outdoors and return home to your bedroom that still likely bears much of your childhood delights in it, your thoughts anything but. He’d kissed you and you’d enjoyed it; of that he has no doubt. He’s started you down the path of your desecration, leading you by the hand.
Returning to his house that evening is disappointing. He can’t wait until he finally leaves here and brings you with him. He’s already begun planning the living space he’ll create for you inside his beloved, actual home. Sound proof, with all the necessities and creatures comforts you could want for. Some precautions, in case things did not quite go to plan, if you were perhaps a bit reluctant at first. He knows when the time is right he will take you and he will keep you, not in the stasis the dead children occupy, but alive and warm, his little secret hidden in the heart of the establishment, all for him, for as long as he desires. It will take some time to get things ready, of course, but that’s not a problem.
William Afton is a very patient man.

If you ban guns on the basis that you can arbitrarily declare them a public health emergency despite the 2nd amendment (implicitly backed by the threat of "do you want multi-million dollar legal bills?"), or you issue student loan forgiveness specifically to try and get as much in as possible before courts overrule it because you pretty blatantly don't have that power, or when the Supreme Court tells your institutions to stop discriminating and you immediately talk about how you're going to work around it to discriminate...
Collapsedsquid was correct to note that part of Donald Trump's act is, "It's not me they're after, it's you; I'm just in their way," and, 'At the top, it doesn't matter what the law is, there is only power.'
If the law specified everything in minute detail, it wouldn't be law, it would be a computer program. Law depends on people not constantly trying to exploit it to the most minor detail; that allows it to be fast and light enough to be actually used.
In terms of resolving disagreements, first there is interpersonal agreement, then there is law, then there are borders, and then there is war.
If people cannot trust that getting a law will cause a matter to stay resolved, at least until there is another law, then they can't cut that issue out as a matter of their security problem; if they cannot rely on impersonal power, because the interpretation of the law will be too subjective, then they will fall back to relying on personal power.
If you issue a public health order banning all public carrying of guns, then you are not the adult in the room bravely standing up to tyranny, you are part of the Trump Show.

Jan Gillman-Westgarth
I woke up and as I had my morning coffee, I realized that everything is about to change. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, something evil has invaded our nation, and our lives are never going to be the same.
I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life--so hate-filled that they agree with opinions they would never express as their own. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone.
You can't justify this insanity. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind!
• If a man pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.
• Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.
• Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good.
• It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquires about it.
• Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote.
• People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.
• People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.
• Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.
• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.
• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.
• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.
• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.
• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.
• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.
• Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.
• And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"?!
Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it’s racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China. We are clearly living in an upside down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right.
Wake up America, the great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water, and is sinking fast. The choice is yours to make. What will it be? Time is short, make your choice wisely!
(Not my words but very accurate and disturbing!)
Feel free to copy and paste. I did.
