Trying to buy clothes while fat is an exercise in frustration. Modern, middle/low income fashion is trash. I was going through some plus size magazines that came in today, and was entirely unimpressed with the “styles” to choose from.
Rather than shopping for clothes, I feel like I’m going camping and buying a tent!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These photos are from three different magazines for three different companies. And yet they all sell exactly the same things.
Casual wear, professional wear, special occasions… they’re all shapeless TENTS!!!
(Expensive tents. Why are some of these things over $50? Unless they’re paying their workers proper wages ((doubtful)) then the same item in “straight” sizes is often half that!)
Does anyone have any options (not torrid, LB, woman within) that don’t look like you’re wearing a colorful sack? Nothing in my local donation places ever fit. I guess nobody my size throws out perfectly good clothing and instead wears it to death.
Tagging some fat positive blogs I follow to see if they have any ideas. @fatphobiabusters , @fatliberation , @fatsexybitch
Because at this rate I’m going to have to bite the bullet and sew up everything myself…. And that’s gonna be a hassle and a half.
Edit: autocorrect fail

Proof of Life, NO BIG BLUE, and still dressing like she's going to a funeral.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at the two ladies on Kate's right & left who are dressed normally, and then there's Kate in her funeral wear.

Fashion fail, IMHO. By the third season of Star Trek, if was getting noticeable that the costumer was a little tired of coming up with new weirdnesses to pass off as 'Future Alien Fashion'. The episode "The Way to Eden" with its 'space hippies' was just so bad .....

I think her work would take centre stage if she…you know…worked more. But what do I know? 😂

Full on celebrating Kate's run of
FUNERAL WEAR!!
A new style strategy for the Princess of Wales? This is the start of Kate 2.0 for the queen-in-waiting as she enters her ‘invisible fashion’ era. Kate's wardrobe has always been a subject of fascination, but as she resumes her royal duties in 2025, it’s clear that her style has undergone a significant transformation in her comeback wardrobe. Gone are the pastel dresses and statement coats of previous years. In their place is a more muted, sophisticated and understated wardrobe that signals a new era for the Princess of Wales. This shift in style, which we are calling ‘invisible fashion’, demonstrates that Kate is choosing to let her work take centre stage rather than her wardrobe.
Told ya! Kate is "serious" about her work, y'all! It's dark & drab from here on out!
Tumblr media
Following the announcement from Kensington Palace regarding the focus needing to shift from her clothes to her work, we are now seeing a new style for the Princess of Wales, one where her fashion choices blend into the background. British designer Amanda Wakeley, host of the podcast Style DNA, believes Kate has always understood the power of fashion as a communicator, and her more muted wardrobe for 2025 reflects a considered shift in how she wishes to be perceived. She says: 'This approach speaks to her discipline and dedication, using fashion as a quiet amplifier rather than a distraction.'
Just like The Pantsuit Streak of 2023! Kate's current run of FUNERAL WEAR is a stunt. Just like her pantsuit streak from fall 2023 was a stunt!
Her recent wardrobe overhaul has seen a shift towards beige, camel, deep burgundies, and rich browns, tones that are elegant, timeless, and, crucially, unassuming. The days of fit and flare dresses and skinny jeans seem to be firmly behind her. Instead, Kate is championing classic tailoring, favouring wide-leg trousers, structured midi skirts, and well-cut blazers. She has even incorporated plenty of plaid into her wardrobe, a subtle nod to British heritage while still maintaining a polished and modern look. This newfound love for understated style allows her to blend effortlessly into her surroundings, keeping the focus on her work rather than what she is wearing. By choosing neutral hues and timeless cuts, Kate is embracing a style that aligns with her growing role within the monarchy, where her presence is required to carry weight beyond just a photo opportunity. It’s a stark contrast to the late Queen Elizabeth, who was famous for her use of bright colours to ensure she stood out in a crowd. Kate’s approach, however, is all about subtlety and quiet power.
Ah, let's all sing the praises of Kate's FUNERAL WEAR, which is a stark contrast to QEII making it easy to identify her.
Here's the benefit of Kate's FUNERAL WEAR, looking like the donut hole in a donut.
Tumblr media
While her outfit was understated and a departure from her usual style, it featured a Blazé Milano checked wool coat that dates back to 2021, showcasing the princess's signature affinity for regal recycling. Later in February the princess visited Pontypridd and dressed in possibly one of her oldest rewears yet, a 2007 Ralph Lauren tweed jacket from her pre-break-up days with Prince William. Her choice to repeatedly wear staple pieces, rather than introduce new designer dresses to the rotation, signals a shift towards a more practical and sustainable approach to fashion. The emphasis is no longer on making headlines with her sartorial choices but on demonstrating a sense of responsibility and consistency. Her ensembles are polished yet unassuming, exuding confidence without the need for flashy details. Accessories have also been dialled down. Statement hats and bold jewellery have been replaced with simple pearl earrings and minimalistic handbags. The overall effect is one of quiet sophistication, where fashion complements rather than competes for attention.
Isn't it convenient how Kate wasn't as interested in recycling or repeating outfits as much in her first twelve to thirteen years, as she has been over the last two and a half months? Perhaps next time someone should calculate her repeat/recycle ratio per outfit for the next DM article? Because last I recall, Kate usually ranks pretty high on UFO No More's annual spending list.
Kate didn't bring a handbag to several engagements over the last couple of months. Is it because she's "dial[ling] down" and going for "quiet sophistication," or is it because The Duchess of Do Little and her comms team are scared of her being pegged as The UK's Marie Antoinette? Looks like it's the latter given how Kate used the same handbag for her last two engagements.
This change in fashion direction comes at a pivotal moment in her royal career. As she takes on more responsibilities, she is stepping away from the playful, fashion-forward choices of her earlier years in favour of a wardrobe that reflects her status as a future queen.
Tumblr media
"As she takes on more responsibilities"?!
WHAT NEW RESPONSIBILITIES?
She took on two (2) new patronages in January, and what else? I haven't seen her increase her workload. To date, she's working less than she ever has, excepting 2024. I haven't seen KP social media promote her patronages & charities more. I've seen Ed, Sophie, and Anne pick up something like five to ten new patronages each in the last year alone. Kate? Two new patronages and only 9 days of public engagements so far.
Quit gaslighting everyone by lying about these "responsibilities." THE KP TITANIC keeps using these words, but it's very clear it's not happening.
Ultimately, Kate’s wardrobe overhaul marks the beginning of a new chapter in her royal journey. She is embracing fashion as a tool for quiet diplomacy, using her clothing to convey a sense of stability, responsibility, and focus. In doing so, this refreshing shift is redefining what it means to dress as a modern royal, proving that style does not have to shout in order to be heard, cementing her status as a forward-thinking royal who understands the power of fashion, not for spectacle, but for substance.
Ultimately, Kate wouldn't be doing these stunts with her clothes if she and her comms team at THE KP TITANIC weren't already convinced about how FUCKED she and William are.
Should we start discussing what proper crisis pr is and how temporarily changing your clothing style is NOT it? And perhaps Kate wouldn't be in the position of losing her reputation had THE KP TITANIC engaged in proper public relations strategy when they became independent from Clarence House, instead of all the insipid celebrity shit they've been doing since then.
No, what I really can't believe is that I USED to think that Will & Kate were smart because they both had "university degrees" from a prestigious university, University of St. Andrews. GAWD, what a mistake that was. They are dum-dum level of DUMB!

I hate fashion companies. Specifically for pants.
Warning, this is a vent.
So, for context, I have lost some weight. I felt really proud of myself, because I was feeling healthier, I wasn't struggling as much, I was being more active, and my life felt a little better.
I went from a size 18 almost 20, to a curvy 14.
Now, unfortunately, that doesn't translate across brands. Ask anyone who wears women's pants and shorts, and they'll tell you that sizing is bullshit.
So, one of my mom's friends has also lost some weight, and got rid of some of her old pants. My mom brings them home, and I try everything on.
Unfortunately, this is the part where everything begins to feel demoralizing and disheartening.
I tried 11 pairs of pants, two pairs of capris, three pairs of shorts, and a skort.
I came out with 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of capris, and two pairs of shorts.
And these were supposedly sizes 'bigger' than what I'm at. All except for like, one, because it was supposedly a "curvy style", but in reality was a 14 regular.
And, I know it's branding, and the way things are cut, but still, it feels like all that progress I made just.... doesn't matter, you know? And, it sucks.
I just.... I don't get it, and I'm tired of trying to understand it.

Really liked this dress and it went well with the theme of the party I'm going to (Rodeo Love or smthn it's some country theme lmao) but unfortunately this looks like trash on me and my family consistently pointed out how big my chest and stomach are and how this doesn't look good on my man shoulders 🥲
