I'm currently writing a post about this quote right now and I was wondering how other people see the emotions behind it and the reason for it's wording. Without giving to much away it's specifically trying to unpack the connotations of 'rotting' and what that means in universe. This poll is specifically about the last thing he says to Genesis ("You will rot.") and not the rest of the conversation that precedes it.

Gilear is seen to be hung while falling out of the pride armor. getting incomparably humiliated then dying maybe just maybe made him hard. this would explain a lot. happy pride

@quaelgeist333 Yeah! It's nothing special lmao. I have a group of friends who're a perfect gradient of Minecraft Experience from "hasn't played since they added coral" to "seasoned Botania expert", and we all decided we wanted to play with a basic server together. I'm actually a bit of an enthusiast so I decided to make us a personal modpack tailored to what each of us tends to like in video games.

I've made crummy mish-mashes of different mods before, but this time I'm doing a LOT to add compat. Conflict name resource packs, crafttweaker scripts, I'm even running Expanded Nametags and adding stuff myself so I can minimize how much time they spend having to check a wiki.

It's not like I'm actually making compat mods or anything, since I don't know Java. But it's honest work

Yeah, Kipperlily totally lived up to that part of Aguefort where they tell you to murder two of your classmates.

did you read the part where i said her problem was being a villain. or my tags where i specifically mentioned that:

my point is not that kipperlilly was unfairly judged. she's for sure evil! i just think the criticism of her doing things in a "boring way" or not in the spirit of aguefort is pretty inaccurate. the way she did things was just as violent and unhinged as any student. but she did it to betray her party and bring about an apocalypse!! THATS why she's a villain, not because she was a lunatic.

xp farming isn't in the spirit of aguefort but that's not what brennan focused on in that send-off speech. he specifically focused on how batshit crazy and violent these kids are. which i think also describes kipperlilly! minus the heroism part of course. but he didn't talk about how she was selfish or evil or backstabbing. he didn't describe the importance of teamwork or saving the world or experience with adventuring. he highlighted the one part of the aguefort ethos that kipperlilly actually succeeds at.

murph talked about "no practical application" which is completely spot on! she didn't have real world experience so she got bodied.

to me it just felt weird for her final moments to be narrated like that. leveling the one criticism that i personally think least applies to her.

At a certain point, killing the rat grinders gets them out of combat. Thats one less person Portor can wield in the fight. And everyone knows you try and get most of the less powerful, less hp people out before the bbegs. Those kids were going to kill the bad kids, we just never actually got to see them have a chance because they suck at combat. Theoretically, they can get resurrected. That also might not be an option, for the same reason that Lucy couldn't get revived or resurrected. Like someone else was saying, because of the death they've already incurred, they might not have a second chance. It's a tragedy because they're kids, but theyre adventuring kids and they made themselves ripe for the picking by being dickheads
