It sometimes feels weird to realize that a fandom has trends. I'm not just talking about the new series that got popular or the character that everyone simps for, I'm talking fan behaviors. The way people rave over their genre has changed over the years, for the better or worse. I've noticed it in the way fanfiction is written, like the voice of newer works are so noticably different from a couple years ago. They FEEL young.
Also, with TikTok and all that, I've noticed that a lot of people are comfortable with showing their simp side, but I'm not really sure if this is a good thing. I'm not saying fan-girlling/boying (whatever) is shameful, but like, wearing whatever underwear that makes you feel comfortable is one thing, and airing it out in the open is another. I'm really not getting used to how open people have become to weebing.
It feels weird to realize that my way of liking my genre is nn years older than everyone else.

If I had a dollar for every well-dressed, manipulative, cunning mass-murderer with a funny staff thing that I got emotionally attached to, I’d have $2.
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s completely predictable weird that it happened twice.

When you want to spend some time with your blorbo, but there isn't a fic that matches your mood, and you don't want to write one yourself either.

Can anyone relate to this?
You see a picture everywhere. It seems like every time you search for something related to your idol, you end up seeing it. It gets to the point where you're almost tired of seeing the picture.
But then, as soon as you need the picture for something, it's nowhere to be found.

Ever have that feeling
When you know on a spiritual level that the fic is so good that it'll alter your brain chemistry and character analysis and how you've thought about the work for years to come? When you instinctly know by reading the first 10 sentences that you'll love it no matter what and cry over how good it is and can't handle the emotions it stirs so you just don't read the rest and have it sit in your tbr for months??

The saddest fucking thing is when you want to fangirl (fanboy/fanperson/just plain fan) over a character but it’s your own fucking OC who no one gives a damn about but you but WTF I might commission more art anyway.

The biggest issue with being a fan of Flying Circus (the RPG) is that it shares tag space with Monty Pythons Flying Circus, so if you wanna find stuff for the RPG you gotta wade through a whoollllleee lot of stuff for the show.

Sure would be nice to enjoy my own faves' tags on different sites without people using it to
Negatively pit their faves against the Munsters
Compare the Munsters to unattractive celebrities/politicians they hate (ENDLESSLY. The same comparisons ALL THE TIME. Get new material.)
Hating on the Rob Zombie remake (and the cast/crew, up to and including wishing violence or misfortune on them)
What the heck did the show or movie (which is not even out yet) do to deserve such bad attitudes from people? You realize this is just a family sitcom about friendly monsters...? What about it attracts so much hostility from you freaks when there's actually war, abuse and disease going on in the world now that you could focus on?
Fandom should be an enjoyable experience and yes, you should block and filter when need be, but most people don't follow fan etiquette as just tag whatever they want as whatever they want, which is so disrespectful to fans looking for be content (ie the whole point of tags).

Read a fanfic and...
Ever read a fanfic where you totally don't agree with what happened in the story and gate where it's going but have enough consciousness to not tell them their story is terrible? Basically you just have no choice but to sit and grumble "there's no way the character would do that."
