if you think about it, falling asleep is a quite lonesome activity. no matter how much you cling to someone, you'll eventually fall into your own sleep. or either way, lucy had always thought so. she could talk and joke and laugh as much as she wanted, but eventually she would have to fall asleep alone. even with company, you end up by yourself.

she never really knew when she had stopped feeling that way. was it in june? or in march? or was it when she and natsu fell back on their comfortable scilence, no longer needing to talk to know that the other was listening.

perhaps she only fully understood it when she woke up with his arms around her torso, him still snoring, but her still feeling seen and heard. when she knew that her smallest move would wake him up - not because he was a light sleeper, but because his body had gotten accustomed to having her completely molded to his body.

or maybe had she just dreamt something nice for once.
