Idk if this is something you'll have much of an opinion on, but I've thought about it lots and I had passing thoughts on Snape being a possible victim of it but I also thought because of his friendship with Lucius he may have been exempt (or their friendship could've been a factor of it) so I wanted to ask you and see if you have/have had any thoughts (or maybe you've mentioned it before)

Do you think the purebloods in Slytherin House partook in 'fagging'? (Seniors using younger years to run errands/chores/other such things) I've seen a few posts about it and I kinda just thought it was odd it was only ever Slytherin mentioned, as I can imagine the other houses also having it (mostly Gryffindors as i can see some of them using the firsties to brush their egos) It's not common practice anymore but it was very popular in Britain and Boarding schools and only really died down in the 20th century, so I always just assumed Hogwarts students would've practiced it as well since the wizarding world is rather stuck in the past. I just think it's interesting, and considering Snape was a halfblood in Slytherin I'd imagine he was a victim of it for some time. I'd also assume you wouldn't only use students in your own house, I think Hufflepuff first years would've been alot of people's gofers because its the "nice house"

To be honest, I’ve never given much thought to “fagging” at Hogwarts—it’s such a narrowly British boarding‐school tradition that I tend not to think about it unless it comes up explicitly. But you’re right: the wizarding world is famously stuck in the past, and Slytherin certainly leans on old customs.

So yes, I can absolutely see upper‑year pureblood Slytherins quietly expecting younger students—half‑blood or otherwise—to run their errands. Severus would have been prime fodder, especially before he gained any real status or allies. And you’re also right that it probably wouldn’t have been limited to Slytherin. In short, I hadn’t really dwelt on fagging at Hogwarts because it feels so baked into a particular slice of British life—but given how outdated the magical community is, it strikes me as entirely plausible.

Advanced kettle analysis

I have to say, I can't quite look at kettles the same way after *that scene* in David Blaize, but I have been thinking about the whole scene at Ralph and Bunny's place in a new light.

Ralph is meant to be 'living with' Bunny in some form. I know that Laurie has this idea that they starting out sharing a room and then Ralph moved up to the attic, but I can't quite see how two men would have respectably shared a 'room' as long-term residents in England at that time, assuming the 'room' only had one bed. But still, something did strike me about Ralph retrieving a kettle from the back of his cupboard, and digging out some very old tea. The immediate effect is to make it clear that Ralph is not a regular 'tea-drinker'. But, he supposedly lives with a tea-addict. So does Bunny have his own kettle that Ralph is not allowed to use? Or.....that Ralph for some reason doesn't want to use Bunny's kettle! Because he knows it is not an innocent cup of tea? That says a lot to me 🤔

So when Bunny says 'I should think that old kettle of yours must be boiling madly', is there a hint of annoyance that Ralph has used his 'own' kettle? I wonder if Bunny is actually irritated by that? And when Ralph declares Bunny the 'tea expert' it's only just occurred to me that could be a reference to fagging (as per Public school). Laurie thinks Ralph has never used the straight look, and we can safely assume Bunny has never 'fagged' for Ralph. I mean, he is the 'teacher' after all!

Makes me wonder what this 'arrangement' actually was. Bunny seems to have lived there longer than he and Ralph were together.....although of course we don't know exactly how long they were 'together' for 👀 whatever that means......

Every 1 note is one day I will brush my teeth (i.e 20 notes = 20 days)

Every 200 notes is an hour I will spend working out

Every 225 notes is an hour I will spend working on my original story

Milestone goals:

At 2,000 notes I will finish one of my art projects

At 4,000 notes I will ride a horse

At 6,000 notes I will start learning how to sew

At 8,000 notes I'll do a Q&A where I'll answer any questions yall have(I'm not doxxing myself tho)

At 10,000 notes... idk I'll post a swimsuit pic
