What a surprise - more neolithic stuff. Making these things is very therapeutic, burning splinters and arranging shards into something. Picking broken stupid little things and building portals. Recreating the oldest motif in the history of paint.
I guess you can call my genre 'overly emotional about pebbles'

Anything by Morgan Daimler is a good place to start. And so far I am enjoying Faery Craft by Emily Carding
Hmm for a more specific book request, I'm really looking for a good book on the fae/faeries. I've come across a couple but they don't take it quite seriously enough, or only portray the fae in a very lighthearted way.
I'd love something with a focus on historical and/or mythological significance of multiple cultures if that's possible! I'm searching around myself, but if anyone has a favorite Fae book, please let me know!

Horned God Invocation: ⛦
By the flame that burneth bright
O Horned One!
We call thy name into the night
O Horned One!
Thee we invoke by the moon led sea
By the standing stone and the twisted tree
Thee we invoke where gather thine own
By the nameless shrine forgotten and lone
Come where the round of the dance is trod
Horn and hoof of the goat-foot God
By moonlit meadow on dusky hill
When the haunted wood is hushed and still
Come to the charm of the chanted prayer
As the moon bewitches the midnight air
Evoke thy powers, that potent bide
In shining stream and secret tide
In fiery flame by starlight pale
In shadowy host that ride the gale
And by the fern-brakes fairy-haunted
Of forests wild and wood enchanted
Come! O Come!
To the heartbeats drum!
Come to us who gather below
When the broad white moon is climbing slow
Through the stars to the heavens height
We hear thy hoofs on the wind of night
As black tree branches shake and sigh
By joy and terror we know thee nigh
We speak the spell thy power unlocks
At Solstice, Sabbat, and Equinox
Word of virtue the veil to rend
From primal dawn to the wide world's end
Since time began---
The blessing of Pan!
Blessed be all in hearth and hold
Blessed in all worth more than gold
Blessed be in strength and love
Blessed be wher'er we rove
Vision fade not from our eyes
Of the pagan paradise
Past the gates of death and birth
Our inheritance of the earth
From our soul the song of spring
Fade not in our wandering
Our life with all life is one,
By blackest night or noonday sun
Eldest of gods, on thee we call
Blessing be on thy creatures all.

I think I’d like to start making regular offerings, even if its just to some general thing like “to nature,” not because I’d like to be more religious or incline a spirit/energy to help me out, but because I need to learn about sacrifice.
I’ve noticed at my new job the competitive environment is making me stray away from choosing kindness, or choosing to give rather than to take. I know from childhood I carry a scarcity mindset. I’m really bad at giving. So I’m thinking maybe making regular offers will help me discover more about why I’ve come to be this way and help me choose others more often.

Are you reading the old or new version of tithe? How you like it so far?
oh I actually was unaware there were different versions! if anyone sees this and knows the differences, I’d love a primer. but I assume mine is the new version—it’s the newer cover.
I’m about 70 pages in, and as a disclaimer, I’m mostly paying attention to holly’s craft (I like learning!) so most of my notes so far are related to that. but some random thoughts:
breakneck pacing. the first chapter is so cursory that it’s odd. if I had to guess, I’d assume Holly does not struggle to move plots along, but does have to go back & create space for moments & characters to breathe (it seems like a skill she’s grown in since tithe)
her talent for capturing the feel of a place can definitely be seen in this book, even through some other more odd writing choices. like there’s an old, dilapidated coastal town, and I fully felt like I was there based on the sensory details she decided to highlight. I’ve also made note of other turns of phrases that I’ve found lovely—like at one point, there’s a line about the stormbright sky painting the woods silver. simple but beautiful. she’s just great with visual treats like that
I have no strong feelings about the characters yet—obviously I’m interested in Roiben, and I’m inclined to like Kaye, but that’s more a symptom of having read tfota. I don’t know how differently I’d feel if I’d picked this book up first
I’m excited to learn more about other courts. also, just getting more of a feel for how the fey work is cool—like the iron-tipped arrow, kaye’s magic, etc.
The tone of this one is wildly different than tfota lmao. I think @thewinecoloredsea called it fairy Euphoria or something like that and I see it now
KISS MY ASS, RATH ROIBEN RYE
