The Equinox always makes me think
I want 6 - 8 menhirs/liths so I can make my own henge. This is a longstanding (forgive the pun) goal; I can remember trying to figure out where to site a henge when I was still in my twenties. No, I have never seen one in person*. No, I am not a druid. I don't know WHY I want a stone circle so badly.
Hmm. Yes. I would need 8 of them. Two to mark North and South, and three pairs to mark the angle of sunrise/sunset at the equinox and the summer & winter solstices.
However, I think Tumblr may be the ONLY place where I could talk about this and have an understanding audience. It is such a delight to be a Weird Kid™ here.
'* Well, I have seen a reconstruction of Stonehenge - a full-size model made of gigantic styrofoam blocks in a rural area of Virginia.

The Mystery of Scotland’s Ancient Standing Stones
Scattered across Scotland’s rugged landscapes, standing stones are some of the country’s most enigmatic and ancient monuments. These mysterious stones, often clustered into circles or solitary sentinels, have stood for thousands of years. But what are they, and what stories do they hold?

I used to read Asterix comics when I was studying French. This guy is all about menhirs and big dinners. Appalachian henge, coming to a farm field near you me.

Another experiment with resin, dry grass and shattered pebbles. Something is definitely up with these megaliths in a field
