Any Fae Martyn au headcannons you really like?

Some fae like to pretend to be human, just 'cause.

I've been trying to establish some worldbuilding for my own fun a jollies beacuse I couldn't get the ideas out of my mind. In doing so, I have established a few lists of people from the life series, hermitcraft, and empires and what species thay are and what "kingdom" they fall under. I've made 10 of them fae including Martyn, and 4 either resemble human often or just straight up pretend to be human.

I think my favorite is Lizzie who pretends to be a cat pretending to be human (based on Empires s2). She doesn't do this for the sake of convenience or anything, she does it for the sake of chaos and confusion.

Playground AU but the children are powerful supernatural creatures that just so happen to be children the parents drop off so that the poor caretakers have to deal with.

Grian and Pearl are avian fledglings, are are always seen digging up and eating bugs from the playground. They don’t have enough feathers to fly, but just enough to glide, and their love of heights makes it a common occurrence for them to start climbing on the bookshelves and tables.

Gem and Lizzie are fae creatures, and are from different courts. Gem is from the Summer Court, while Lizzie is the heir to the Spring Court. They have this… really creeping unblinking stare that bore into your soul. They trained the small animals from the nearby forest to attack people, and have on multiple occasions, let a bear try to maul someone.

Scott is a unicorn satyr. He can create rainbows, is always photogenic, and can heal minor wounds. What’s the issue you may ask? Scott will more often than not, waltz out of the building, plop down in the soccer field and begin eating the grass. He’s also very fussy about his clothes. One time a tree branch tore his clothes, so he used his horn to set it on fire, causing a minor forest fire.

Scar and Cub are vexes and are basically the twins from the shining. Always at the end of a hallway, asking for something. They also are entirely carnivorous, so they sneak out into the forest, find the nearest wild animal (squirrel, bird, a god forsaken wolf at one point), kill it and just… eat it. Blood gets everywhere, and both use the blood and viscera as art supplies. Scar once gave Grian a bird’s head, covered in glitter, stabbed on a stick covered in a mixture of blood and paint.

Joel is an ogre. He’s also quite temperamental. He’s also egregiously strong for his age and once threw an entire desk out the window. He often gets into fights, and has difficulty controlling his strength. He has currently destroyed a window, 2 desks, 4 chairs, 1 door, 12 bathroom doors, several paintbrushes, a wall, a concrete wall, a metal and wooden baseball bat, and the monkey bars.

Skizz and Impulse are an Angel and a demon respectively. Their true forms are enough to make anyone faint or go temporarily insane, and they can control the ambient temperature around them. Their clans are at constant war with the other, despite the two of them being extremely close, and whenever their parents pick them up, the two families immediately start fighting in the parking lot.

Bdubs is a sandman. He’s able to make dreams literally materialize out of sand, and he uses this to create giant sand kaijus, tanks, dragons, monster trucks, and even a castle, all made up of sand. He also has a bad habit of sleeping in the most weirdest and convoluted places in the school. They once found him on the school’s intercom system sleeping peacefully.

Etho is a boogeyman. He is a living nightmare, able to meld into the shadows themselves and cause horrific nightmares. Unfortunately, due to his inexperience with these powers, he often just ends up tripping into someone’s shadow or unleash a torrent of spiders into the classrooms. Did I forget to mention he’s made up entirely of spiders?

Jimmy is the token human. He’s just a dude who’s entore class is made up of the supernatural. He’s well liked, but often starts or gets roped into one of his classmate’s shenanigans. He’s also chronically unlucky, causing him to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He breaks a bone at least once a year and is a regular at the nurse’s office.

This is getting long so I’ll just list off the rest: BigB is a creaking dryad, Cleo is a zombie (duh), Tango is a blazeborn, Ren is a werewolf, Martyn is an oracle, Mumbo is a vampire, Zedaph is a jabberwocky, and Doc is a… goat cyborg thing.

what is the convexian hitman au?

To sum it up, Cub and Scar are hitmen that work for the local government, the NHO. Once human, the two made a pact with a mischievous fae entity called the Vex in exchange for power. They were once the most dangerous criminal duo in the city, until they were finally caught. They were given two options: work for the government as hitmen, or life in prison. The vex can make pacts that cannot be broken, so they have to do what the NHO says (but they find loopholes at every given opportunity).

The NHO was a group from hermitcraft season 5 and consists of Bdubs, Doc, Etho and Beef. It stands for the New hermit order and they manage city affairs and try to maintain peace (emphasis on try to).

Grian (who uses he/she pronouns in this au) is a university student studying architecture, and has a pretty normal life. That is until one day, when he comes in contact with an ancient artifact while out studying ancient architecture ruins. He gains the powers of a Watcher - eldritch beings so mysterious they were long considered to be a myth. She gains new sixth-sense abilities that are incredibly overwhelming. The NHO swoops in before Grian can hurt anyone or herself with her new powers, and takes Grian to their base, where he is studied by their best doctors and scientists for months.

The NHO deems Grian’s new abilities too powerful and unpredictable to allow him to return to society as a normal citizen, so Grian is also brought into hitmen work. Her new abilities- once she gains better control over them- can be used to help keep the city safe. Grian is handed off to the ConVex hitmen duo to be trained as a hitman abd to aid them on their missions.

There are more minor characters I’d like to introduce to the au as well! For example, Martyn is a youtuber and internet sleuth convinced that Watchers are real. No one really believes him, until Grian comes in contact with him, asking for any information about the Watchers…

I think my main inspiration behind the au was that Watcher!Grian is often depicted as this omniscient, all-knowing powerful demigod, and I thought it would be interesting to explore a Grian who has Watcher powers, but they’re brand new to him and he has no idea how to use them. Also I just like convexian as a trio lol

I want to make an organized masterpost eventually when I have time, but for now I try to keep everything in the #convexian hitman au tag! You can read a lot more about it there, there’s plenty of doodles, writing snippets and general yapping. Feel free to send asks about it :P

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I have a few crossover relations plotted.

This post shows an in depth of EJ, cubfan, and gtwscar. But they grow from awkward friends as EJ is confused as to why they keep trying to feed him, to found family.

Pearl, the twins scott and xornoth, and lazari are all related through zalgo. That being said, pearl and the twins are stronger then zalgo, and there's a comedic scene somewhere where zalgo, on his hunt for lazari, crosses over into the hermitpires territory of the world and is quickly delt with by the twins before pearl even get there. After pearl strings zalgo up, she sends a text to stripes to pick up their loser father before they kill him, consequences be damned. Pearl, scott, and xornoth first find lazari separated from others and extremely weak. They take her to one of the nearby hotels in chromia to help rejuvenate her and she gets picked up by Jane. They grow from protective strangers to wholesome siblings, especially since in this au pearl is similar to lazari. However also in this au lazaris abilities are slightly changes. Cause wtf was Ieatpastaforbreakfast if not something to look back fondly on and be horrified by in current context.

Martyn and the creepy pastas. Martyn is umbre, the listener, and eldritch being presiding over the shadow. This is a vague term due to the fact that it means several things. Presiding over fae, over the cursed, and over 'those who lurk in the shadow' slender man and his 'siblings' were blessed by umbre to protect those in shadow and give them not just survival but lives. Each and every one of the creepy pasta are blessed by umbre, and sometimes others, but this blessing ensures their survival as long as they keep doing shady dark shit like killing people and the sort because balance reasons. The creepy pastas would be scattered serial killers or dead if martyn didn't bless them.

Okay so my life series fantasy AU

Basically Joel and Jimmy were isekai’d into this fantasy world. Everyone else is already part of the world. Jimmy basically wake up with Grian standing over him (Grian is a parrot Avian in this as per usual) and Jimmy totally freaks out.

And all I know from there is that Jimmy and Grian overthrow Ren and Joel heads to the feywilds and meets Lizzie. Oh and flower husbands meet and kiss by a lake, I’m sure there will be angst I’m getting there

So now actually about the guys

Bdubs

Moss spirit

He lives in the forest and loves to cause chaos

But also he helps people get in an out of his forest because it’s dangerous at night

Being a moss spirit Bdubs body is basically just made up of moss

Bdubs and Grian have issues, and when I say issues Grian causes problems and Bdubs has to deal with the aftermath

BigB

BigB is a fae who lives outside of the fae wilds

He has a bakery in the main city of the kingdom Ren and Martyn rule

He frequently speaks to the royal order something something maybe suspicious things

He’s best friends with Tango who he met through Skizz

Etho

He’s an Arctic fox

He lives in the ice realms which are relatively near the southern realms which is where the kingdom is

Jimmy breaks into his house by accident at some point and Etho just is like

‘This guy is my kid now’

Jimmy has no idea how to escape forcibly assigned son

Scar

A desert elf (desert duo ref)

Scar used to live in the kingdom before moving to the desert realms with Grian (they’re boyfriends)

Scar is a falcon tamer, usually he just tames regular falcons but was called into the city square to deal with a particularly pesky boy which is how he meet Grian

He also still has a wheelchair but it has like magic powers, Scar used his desert elf powers to make it so his wheelchair can drive across sand.

Grian

HE CAUSES PROBLEMS ON PURPOSE

He has little bird legs and he likes to fly onto Scars falcon brace

And he takes shiny things from shops in the kingdom

Sometimes they offer him blood he always says no though he thinks it’s rude of him

Skizz

Skizz is an angel

But he’s also the most unlucky person in the world

He was the first person to buy from Tangos shop and they became good friends because of that

Skizz is aware of the watchers due to his angel origins

Scott

Scott is actually a star born

But he disguises himself as a Sea elf

He lives in solitude behind a waterfall in a flower meadow

He has long elf ears and coral in his hair that looks like it’s arranged slightly like a flower crown

Starborns have the ability to take the magical abilities of their surroundings or their friends, so Scott has magical powers relating to water and flowers, but this can change based on his surroundings in which he can gain additional powers (Water and Flower related powers will not change because he’s lived in the meadow for so long)

Something with him and Acho (his brother) having an argument, causing them to split from each other and adorn disguises heading down to the over realm

Scott has spoken to the royal counsel before but they do not like each other which is why he did not choose to live in the city, He is courteous with them but only really visits the city to speak with Impulse who he made friends with while living in the city.

Starborns being a rarer and more hunted but also very powerful species and kept track of by the royal order so he was mainly there to fill out paperwork

Tango

Tango is a fireborn

Fireborn do not have parents they spawn from fire and are only found in the Nether realms (Not to be confused for the Nether World) At the age of 16 Fireborn creatures will leave the Nether realms to find a home for themselves. The only fireborn who reside pass the age of sixteen are those who are unable to leave or caretakers of fireborn young.

So when Tango was 16 he left to the southern arms to set up a mechanics shop

When Tango gets angry his fire hair goes blue

Tango also had a mechanical arm :3

Pearl

Pearl is a lunar moth

She and Grian are siblings

They cause problems together I love them

I sadly don’t have much for anyone else right now :(

Creating AU's at a record pace currently-

Anyways, I saw the permit office and watched a playthrough of Home Safety Hotline and decided to draw this little thing.

Basically, Grian replaces Supervisor Carol and Scar and Skizz replaces the main character. Pearl, Jimmy, and Martyn work as "higher-ups" in this company and deal with the pests and hazards when reported. They themselves are very subliminal when they appear, though otherwise, remain in their typical human appearance to protect their identities.

They can turn people into Endermites, instead of mice!

Also, the hotline is available on many a server, though most of the callers are from HC/EMP because most came to HC for a reason, and it spilled over in Season 9. Some life series members not in either server may also be affected.

Surprisingly not a permadeath au, and the more deadly creatures (false artifact, sprig trees, etc) either cause the affected to be in a death loop, only broken by a Watcher/Listener (oh hey, guess who does that), affects the next respawn permanently (false beet, fae flu, etc.), or, when broken out and saved, causes either amnesia or high confusion, possibly permanently (neighbour's doorways, portals, etc.)

Also, if you guys want to create some calls for any MCYTer (preferably from Hermitcraft and Empires), do respond with them please!!! The link to all of the entries are here, but please be cautious if you are sensitive to insects, spiders, eyes/being watched, tight spaces, dogs, or general scary imagery.

ok so I was originally going to write a fic for this but i didn't have the time/motivation, and now im left will all the wack au ideas that wouldve been included

the main difference in this AU is that Lizzie's a vampire- that's it mostly, everything else follows closesly with canon

life giving/receiving is personalized in this AU

--- lizzie gives/receives extra lives by vampire-biting them (she usually does it on the neck for drama, but it would work anyplace else. she's just extra) , martyn uses an axe as the magic conduit, scar does some sort of blood mixing, and those are all the people i thought of so everyone else is a mystery

--- since lizzie's thing is so violent she tries to hide it as much as possible. card up her sleeve and all

vampires in this one are fae-adjacent in that they can lie (and in lizzies case they have wings) but they cannot break oaths/promises (by extension, this forces the other person(s) participating in the oath also 100% bound to their promise)

that is important bc instead of giving it straight away, lizzie promises Ren his life for his loyalty. since he kinda sorta needs that life he doesnt leave when lizzie turns red and they become power duo. lizzie knows that once ren gets his life he's free to dip so she kinda holds it over his head

however comma when ren DOES find out about her vampire everything he freaks and accuses her of being a monster with an unfair advantage, and they get into a big fight during the battle where lizzie originally died (which is what the main art is based off of)

ren gets his promised life as hes on his perma-death bed, and stays with lizzie out of like. residual obligation after that

been thinking abt a fully fleshed out mercenary au since i posted that oneshot for sixth day of christmas so.... heres a drabble

jimmy and martyn are, ofc, human mercenaries who call themselves the big dogs so they can seem scarier than they really are. theyre mostly homeless theres a rumour abt a witch who lives in the woods and everyone thinks its lizzie but when they show up shes like "oh no thats scar!" and points to her very eccentric and flamboyant neighbor who lives across the river. scar looks NOTHING like a witch but when you go in, you come back out with exactly the potion you wanted, several others you didnt actually need, significanctly less money than what you went in with, and absolutely no memory of actually being inside and making the purchase. hes incredibly suspicious but godDAMN do his potions and crystals work well skizz owns a building plaza named the heart foundation where he rents out sections to people for their stores (yk like those buildings that are connected stores?? i really hope this makes sense). tango is his assistant as well as bigb but bigb is super weird and disappears a lot. tango was the one to suggest the coffee shop idea that martyn overheard. skizz is an angel and tango is an imp lizzie and scar own one of the spaces where they sell very normal things like farm produce and things that would usually be hard for the other members of the community to get like amethyst and food enchanted with elven magic. as well as very specific bones lizzie has found (no, she will NOT tell you where she got them, yes they are organic, she declines to answer if they are ethically sourced). scar is an elf which is why he's able to sell elven enchanted food. the roomies own one of the store spaces and mostly sell wool products but theyve started farming cotton in hopes of expanding their market. they live together on a farm with a fence covered in vines surrounding it so the animals can wander about sometimes. since they sell wool products, they have a lot of sheep, so when they need the sheep back in their pen they hire mercenaries to do it for them. cleo is the only zombie in the community and, while grian was mentioned as an avian in the oneshot, hes actually going to be a fae. everyone thinks etho is a human but he barely leaves home so cleo and grian are the only ones who know for sure whether or not he is gem is the girl who just moved in with the dream of starting a band. she ends up with an imp and an angel both named scott and they call themselves gem and the scotts. they rent one of skizz's spaces for a studio and gem lives in the apartment above it. impulse, scott the imp, lives in a cave, and scott the angel lives in a cottage on the edge of the woods (so not as far in as lizzie and scar) the mounders live in 4 big old creepy houses that look completely different on the inside than they do outside. its also a 'gated' community but they dont care enough to enforce it. mumbo and pearl are both vampires, bdubs is a fae, and joel is an elf. ren is also around to add more people to their little community even tho this uses the alliances made in secret life. he lives in a smaller house a little ways away from scott's cottage. he seems human enough but theres a rumor that he's a werewolf. no one really knows what bigb and lizzie are, scott even introduces them to gem as the 'suspicious weirdos' and cleo and grian joke that not even they know what they are.

Pirates and Mermaid Traffic/Hermit Au

Ok so the main thing that has been going on in my head recently is a pirate AU but some of the members are mermaids/sirens. (I've decided to use it interchangeably.) Its more so about perspective, like if someone is hunting a mermaid its more likely they would you 'Siren' since they are scared or think they are more so monsters, (Or I just don't want to write mermaid.), but on the other hand a boat at sea sees a curious mermaid approach the ship and meekly poke its head out of the water. If the crew wasn't scared of the mermaid they would probably use 'Mermaid'. But all in all Mermaids and Sirens are the same thing. There are also hybrids and such, like avians, foxes, imps, and stuff like that. There are also fae and such here. So we just have a boat full of little freaks /pos. There is also people who can use like magic and such. Like Tango has fire magic powers and such. But about every mermaid has some sorta power relating to water or something in the water. But pretty much Grian is the captain of the 'Barge', Mumbo is his first mate, Jimmy is the look out and Grian's cousin, Joel, Etho an older pirate who just joined G and crew, Gem, Skizz, Impulse, and Tango are all apart of the crew. At least so far that I've thought of.

Grian and Jimmy are avians; Mumbo, Joel, Skizz, and Tango are humans; Etho is an artic fox, Gem I'm not too sure honestly so for now human. Grian joined up with Mumbo at first, then Jimmy and Joel joined him, Etho and Gem joined as the next group (i just really like their Duo), Skizz, Impulse, and Tango join up last. Then for the mermaids we have Ren who is kings of course, Bdubs is his like servant (for lack of better term right now), Martyn is also his servant or right hand, Scar helps out around the kingdom occasionally, Cleo is Scar and Bdub's mom, Cub is there as Scar's bestie (they normally are besties in AU's I feel I just don't really watch him so I don't know much about his personality), and Scott is down there in the sea too for the mean gills propaganda. For the fish people they have powers like I mentioned earlier. Like Scar can shoot currents of water he does mainly use like a bow and arrow stance so HOTGUY! Bdubs can manipulate like underwater flora, since he is like moss normally and that's like a plant. Other fish I don't quite know yet.

Soo I have been wondering of the songbird blood au. What type of magic can Mumbo, Scar and Martyn do? Or is it just magic that they learn and everyone can do if they learned how. Like the illusions I think?

For example Mumbo has compulsion powers(?) and can smell blood scents.

It's just a quick thought I had while rereading the series. And hopefully the question makes sense 😂

so, I won’t go into too much detail since (and these are very light spoilers for the next fic), mumbo and scar’s magic will be talked about and explained :D

that being said! mumbo’s compulsion ability is a general magic skill — it’s one that only vampires have. think about it like every supernatural has a basic set of magic abilities, kinda like how in dnd or any ttrg your character will have different default abilities. vampires all have the ability of compulsion, along with enhanced speed, sight/hearing/smell, and strength. mumbo’s ability to scent blood isn’t a magic thing though, just a result of his vampirism

mumbo’s actual magic ability, the one that comes from his own magic and not his vampiric abilities, is the illusion magic. though it’s a bit more complex than that, as we’ll see in this next fic :3

scar are martyn are a lot more well rounded in magic ability. scar is fae, so he knows all different types of magic. he specializes in nature magic though. but he can do illusions like mumbo. however, the kind of illusions scar can do are very different from mumbo’s 👀 scar’s nature magic is something that’s special to him only, though

as for martyn, I don’t think there’s any one magic he specializes in. he’s well rounded like scar is, since he’s a mage. martyn is the resourceful kinda guy, picking up whatever he can whenever it’s needed

specifically in scar and martyn’s cases (excluding scar’s nature magic), the magic they use can be learned and used by anyone! :D

does anyone know that one Ethdubs fic that’s like a fantasy au where bdubs is a flower shop owner or he works at one. He lives with Joe and Cleo. With is a regular in bdubs shop and something something they go on a date to a bar that ren and doc tend at and martyn is there making jokes I think he was a waiter. I remember Cleo being an “iron fae” or something like that. Ethos human. I’ve not nothing else I’m sorry I just thought of this fic and how much I loved it but my dumbass forgot to save it somewhere

Vex are a beautiful and deadly species of fae. Those born as far are born beautiful to lure people into comfort to get what they want from them. It helps that their magic centers on manipulation of mind, of themselves, and of the visage of the world around them. However, a vex that cannot use and wear out magic will collect magic over time until they secrete this magic out in a black liquid of pure magic.

Man made vex are beautiful because the medical cults that take them as 'sacrifices' use faulty translated information, making them think they need a person of beauty to make the process work when in reality the main text is simply stating the vexes nature. The reason the transformative ritual works is because of 'he who presides over shadow' also known as umbre(listener martyn) as the 'ritual' actually calls apon his blessing.

Scar is a born vex, and learned magic, hunting styles, and cooking recipes (with human meat) and has only ever leaked magic during the life games when all use of magic is blocked.

Cub is a man made vex and has the discolored skin. However he is still attractive because he is able and knows how to use magic. That being said he's not the best cook, and doesn't know as many spells as scar does. He's still powerful and deadly as any vex is.

EJ is an especially weak made vex. That's not to say he isn't strong, just that his inability to use even basic magic to burn through daily (like just floating shit towards yourself when you need/want it. Intangibility, etc) makes it to wear he feels weighed down even at his peak. He's still good at hunting. Most of the reason for this weakness is that no one he works around or knows really knows what he is.

In vex culture food is important as keeping eachother healthy in the end means better meals. Therefore, learning how to cook human meat as regular food makes it easier to gift to eachother and a better taste to enjoy.

So when EJ and the others come by their village after being forces out for some reason or another, scar and cub both want to feed him as a sign of good will and a will to help. One that completely flies over EJs head.

It does not help that hermits, as always, place, lose, and win bets constantly. Cub, at the time where the crew get there, has lost a bet and is forced to hide his beauty in some way by cleo.

Another key platonic relationship is Lazari with scott and xornoth. Along with scott and xornoths relation to stripes. (I FORGOT PEARL, SHE'S APART OF THIS SINLINGS TOO)

SO SOME BACKGROUND

i started this blog at 13!!!

i was a HEAVY dsmp fan and it was my biggest hyperfixation at the time

i was very mentally ill and was getting zero help whatsoever :,(

i also had literally no friends to talk about dsmp with because they had all lost interest D:

im 16 in like three weeks! crazy!!!

im not very into dream smp anymore, and im not a wilbur supporter whatsoever. sorry not sorry lmao

im also an intense dream anti. not in the sense that i hate all dream smp enjoyers, because a lot of good came from it! but i do not like that man

honestly i didnt when i started this blog, but i was discreet about it (i think i was - i refuse to go through my old posts)

the people i wrote about have grown and changed a LOT since i started this account in autumn of 2022, and just as i have, they have moved on from the dream smp. i personally don't want to keep writing about what is essentially a time capsule of who they were. no hate to people who still write for them, obv, it's just not for me :)

since i still have an interest in mcyt, i may consider writing some life series bits and bobs here and there, but that would depend on what you lot at home want!

i would have to look into specific boundaries because, whilst a lot of ccs on the ogmcyt/hermitcraft/life series side just. dont care about fan content, a lot of boundaries are very up in the air.

also martyn littlewood is a fucking heathen and is watching like big brother iykwim

obviously, any followers from here are free to move over to my current blog, but i cant promise that any updates about a potential life series blog will be posted there! if it does happen, itll most likely be posted about on here :)

CONCLUSION

when i logged back into this account i didnt even remember this blog, and to come back to such lovely support has genuinely made my day.

if 13 year old me saw this, she'd be so happy, and that means more to me than any kind of embarrassment or cringe i might feel.

i am proud of all that i did here, but given that my last writing was like. early 2023? late 2022? i dont know. anyway it's probably time to leave it behind lol

i wont be deleting any of my work, because as much as i do not support wilbur (SHELBYSUPPORTSQUAD WOOOO), this is literally an archive of the bare minimum of my old work, which i think is cute lmao. i like looking back and seeing that my writing style hasnt changed whatsoever lol
