Not to be a Style apologist, but I feel like some viewers haven't quite picked up that Style's brand of wooing Fadel is quite literally intentionally designed (by both the writers and the character) to be as annoying and frustrating as possible.
Lets consider:
Style thinks his bff is in love for the first time in his life. He thinks Kant is genuinely down bad for Bison: let’s not forget his clear surprise when Kant agreed to give up the car. As far as Style is concerned, Kant is acting really out of character and it's because Kant desperately wants to be with Bison.
He also thinks the only thing standing in the way of True Love™ is Fadel, who according to Kant is being unreasonably difficult about Kant and Bison dating. He doesn't know that Kant has a secondary motivation, nor does he know about the mind games that Bison is playing with Kant. Worse, he has no frame of reference or context to make any of Fadel's animosity towards Kant reasonable.
Moreover, while I think we all agree that Style made a terrible first impression on Fadel, the same has to be said of Fadel towards Style. Like, yes, absolutely Style was in the wrong, but Fadel came off as not only condescending and impatient, but unreasonable (and very weirdly cagey) when Style tried to immediately offer a resolution. Again, Style has no frame of reference for why Fadel would first demand that he take responsibility for his actions and then immediately after claim to have no time to entertain Style's attempt to take said responsibility.
Also, it doesn't help Style's wounded pride that Fadel keeps 'besting' him at every turn. So at this point I think a significant portion of that initial attraction (in ep 1) has shifted to annoyance when it comes to Fadel. By the time he gets his hands on Fadel's information, I think he's more than a little invested in some payback. While I think Style very much still wants to help Kant (and Bison) out, at least a part of him figures as long as he keeps Fadel busy, he kind of meets his goal. And if he gets to embarrass, frustrate and otherwise harass Fadel along the way, all the better!
You can see him start to have some fun with it. He ramps it up SO much in ep 2. He gets to lean into that wild, brash, playful personality because he doesn't really care if Fadel likes him. Style gets to be dialled up to extremes, and I love that for him because he's honestly kind of justified because he knows so fucking little about what's really going on. I think it's only fair if the other 3 are playing 4D chess while Style only has the Uno game rules in front of him, he gets to be the most Unhinged about it.
So, yeah, while I absolutely agree with all the posts out there that recognises just how reasonable and polite and tired Fadel is, I do think we need to give Style some credit here. He's absolutely SO extra, but he's also the one, arguably, that has been lied to the most and I feel that he deserves some slack for that.
#listen i love him and i just keep seeing so many posts about how terrible he was to fadel#and all of them are so valid! and i agree!! i want to protect Fadel from the world too!!#but i also think we need to acknowledge that Style is working on so much less information than anyone else#also i hope he calls Kant out on the kind of shitty thing he did to not tell Style about Fadel's whole deal#the balance that this show strikes between Unserious and actually honestly kind of Serious is really impressing me#the heart killers the series#the heart killers#thk meta#style meta#fadelstyle#hui talks thk#hui talks thai bl#style sattawat#dunk natachai#dunk continues to impress me so much in this episode#he seemed very believable in the frankly insane breadth of variance his character has in both episodes#i'm so excited to see everything he has to show off in this series

The Heart Killers EP6-EP7: "You think I'd go on living if you died?"
I'm sure everyone is still wiping away the snot from their face thanks to Episode 6's brutal ending. I want to talk about how next week's preview shows we're leading into the best invitation for reconciliation as far as Bison and Kant are concerned. Let me explain.
In the wake of Bison being confronted with the awful truth, he will likely assume (in the immediate instance) that everything - every single thing Kant has said and done was a total lie - a strategically crafted fabrication to get him hooked, including Kant's feelings. That Kant never loved him at all, it was all an act. We as an audience know that's not true but Bison doesn't.
With Bison getting shot next episode, this forces Kant to drop his mask in the most revealing way possible. In the face of losing Bison, this becomes the catalyst for Kant turning the tables, and proves twofold:
Kant's panic over Bison possibly dying indicates he genuinely cares about him. His entire demeanour during this incident will be under the eyes of everyone present including Fadel and Style. If there was any doubt about Kant's feelings, there won't be now.
Kant can no longer lie to himself. He can't live without Bison (by his own later admission). Throughout EP6, Kant's been trying to assure Style he will move on once this whole situation has blown over, but Kant's simply telling his best friend what he wished he could convince himself of. He tries to believe that he can give up Bison and be okay, that it will all be worth it if it means protecting Babe. But deep down he knows he won't be. This confirms it.
So firstly, Bison will witness just how much Kant cares about him. It doesn't deny the fact that Kant lied to him, but the truth is Kant has also undoubtedly fallen in love with him. The man sits by Bison's bedside sobbing and inconsolable, and I anticipate Kant may well confess why he did what he did whilst Bison is 'unconscious', who may recall some or all of what he says when he wakes.
Secondly, Kant will decide that he can no longer put Bison in any kind of jeopardy and that means: 'fuck the mission'. He's going to have to turn on Chris, and aid Bison and Fadel to escape the pursuit from the police that he helped them gain progress with. Chris already suspects that Kant has fallen for Bison which makes him a huge liability. Sealed by either by his own active choices to defy the police, or in Chris' eyes, Kant has effectively chosen to put a huge target on his back. By extension Babe is no longer safe either.
In the preview, we also see Bison disappear from the hospital, just as Chris plans to apprehend him. It's likely that the next time they meet, Bison has been in hiding (probably watching Kant from the shadows) before he intervenes to help. It could be that Kant is being hunted down by the cops or Mother. For Bison to do this shows he's already on the road towards forgiveness, having observed Kant and processed what he now knows. It's far more complicated than he first assumed, and he's willing to hear Kant out. They're ready to start the path to reconciliation and face what's to come together.
On a final note, I've been speculating who may be the ones leading the attack at the bowling alley. The obvious guess would be the police. But for some reason, I have a wild feeling it could be Keen. (I remember Pepper being on set when these four were filming for this scene). It's possible for example that Mother finds out it's Kant and Style who are the informants and Keen tries to score some brownie points by taking them out. In the heat of the moment, Bison protects Kant on instinct and gets shot. Now that would make this all the more heart-wrenching wouldn't it?
You can keep tabs on bird-inacage’s BL meta directory for my other long-form posts around The Heart Killers, which I’ll be updating in real time as the show airs.

i've said it before, but i truly feel like a lot of the hate towards kant really comes from a place of people not understanding him and why he's handling everything the way he is. like i feel like at this point, more people understand his motivations and the fact that he's doing all of this to be able to raise babe, but i feel like the disconnect is now coming from the way he's handling it all.
and like, i understand that everyone has different interpretations, but one thing i have never been able to understand and get behind is the idea that kant, at any point, didn't feel anything for bison. we see before kant gets blackmailed by christ, before he is told that bison is an assassin and he needs to get close, that kant clearly felt something real on his and bison's first night together. you can make the argument about it just being because they had really good sex, and i'm not saying that wasn't part of it, but the thing is that when kant is laying there, daydreaming about bison with that silly smile on his face, he's not thinking about just the sex. yes, we get a shot of that too in his little daydream, but we also just get bison at the bowling alley. and kant tells style that bison didn't stick around as if he's disappointed, and again, sure, you can make the argument that he just wanted to make a fuck buddy out of bison or something like that, but style is teasing him about it in the same way a friend teases you about a crush - and style knows kant and his fuck boy ways better than anyone, so it's obvious this isn't just the way kant acts when he has good sex with someone.
but then captain christ calls. and kant is given this job that he has to do. this isn't an option, he doesn't have a choice here. it's do this job for captain or he brings back his car theft charges and he looses custody of babe. you can argue about his tactic in getting close, sure, but the truth is i don't think kant trying to be bison's friend would have even worked, nor would it have likely made much sense because they had already slept together.
and again, i've said it before, but a lot of the reason that kant was able to be convincing with everything in the beginning is because while sure, he was definitely playing things up, he also did always have a real interest in bison. kant isn't a good liar. we've been shown this time and time again, not just with bison, but with fadel and even with style. if kant hadn't had any interest in bison to begin with, he wouldn't have been able to fake it so easily. there's just no way to me that he didn't have some amount of interest from the beginning.
his interest has always been real. the problem has always come in with the fact that kant knows it can't be.
and i think in the beginning, it was easy for him to justify it, to brush it off. to tell himself "it was just good sex" or "it's just a crush" because as much as it may be real, kant needs to to be a lie. he needs to be faking it, be lying through his teeth, because none of this is real! he can't approach bison in a way he otherwise may, he has to be over the top. he can't win bison's heart naturally, he has to wiggle his way in, he has to lie and cheat and manipulate, he has to pay off his friends to help him and drug him to get information. it can't be real because even if it is, he has to do these things anyways. even if it's real, he won't get to keep him in the end. it's either bison gets locked up or kant does, and if he's the one in the cell, then there's no one to take care of babe.
so of course kant pushes away and ignores every bit of feelings he has until he can't anymore. of course he ignores the way he redraws bison's cat tattoo for him when he doesn't have to. he ignores the fact that maybe he does actually like it when bison hits him, that maybe they are the perfect match. he ignores the little kiss he gives bison despite him being totally out of it. he ignores the note he has in his phone of all the things bison likes, the things he dislikes.
until he's sat in bison's room and he sees pictures of the northern lights and thinks "he has dreams, just like babe does."
until bison calls him his boyfriend and he giggles like a teenager with a crush.
until he's in the shower and can't stop thinking about bison giving him his heart and the way he doesn't deserve it.
until style calls him on it, tells him what he already knows but can't be true, that bison has him wrapped around his finger.
until bison is telling him he loves every story on his body. until bison is kissing his way up his skin like he's something beautiful and precious but he's not. because bison says he loves the parts of him he thinks are ugly. but would he still if he knew? would he still look at kant with all that love, all that vulnerability, if he knew it was built on a false start? would he still find those parts beautiful, too?
of course kant doesn't think so. of course he has no reason to believe bison would forgive him. how can he expect that when he can't even forgive himself?
so it's better, isn't it, to just get it all over with? to do what he needs to and try to live with himself once it's all over? to let himself love bison for just one night because he'll lose him either way after that, won't he?
that's what it is, for kant. he can't keep bison. no matter how much he wants to. no matter how real any of it is.
#of course kant has an 'i gotta do what i gotta do' attitude. he doesn't have any other options#and he hates that more than anyone else#this got away from me but like. of course he ignored it. of course he didn't want to feel any of it#of course he's trying to get it over with#god it kills me fr#the heart killers#kant pattanawat#my analysis#mine

so like. what if i just went full out balls to the wall and said i DO think bison spotted the guy taking pictures and i DO think he suspected kant immediately and that when he ran back into the kitchen to call fadel it was less 'i don't know how to cook a burger' (although he obviously doesn't know how to cook a burger) and more 'i think we have a problem here and i don't know what to do about it without being told what to do'. and left alone he handled it using the first (and right now only) tool we know he has at his disposal: being a honeytrap. what if i said i think he didn't tell fadel in a juvenile but ultimately desperate bid for power over his own life and choices and autonomy, which is a freedom that he obviously needs but that no one will allow him to have.
what if i think there's a very real chance he was standing right outside kant's parlour when he was on the phone to chris and overheard everything. what if i said i think he's caught on to every subtle probe for information kant has thrown his way (he asks 'where do i go if i want to have sex with you again?' and he's really asking 'where do you live?'. he says 'you and fadel don't look alike, are you sure you're brothers?' and he's really saying 'tell me more about your family') and artfully dodged each one without giving himself away (i don't think i believe bison when he says they have the same mum but different dads, not after we've been told this whole time they're adopted siblings). what if i said i truly don't believe bison is the idiot everyone believes him to be and is trying to use kant to prove himself in some way - both to his family and to himself.
what if i said i can't stop thinking about that scene from the pilot trailer where kant is tattooing the character for 'trust' or something similar (please correct me if i'm misremembering) on bison and bison makes a point to stop him and say something along the lines of 'i never forgive the people who betray me' (again please correct me if i'm misremembering) and how that feels way too pointed to be coincidental. what if i said the more i think about it the more i think bison really is playing a game with kant just to see how far he'll go and how much he can take from him. what if i said right now i think bison thinks it's gonna be all fun and games but before he realises it he's gonna be neck deep in very real and very complicated emotions and worst of all kant is gonna be right there in the water with him and only then will he realise how fucked he is. what then.
#the heart killers#kantbison#thk meta#listen i just can't stop thinking about it im sorry#and im not holding my breath about it bc i know better than that but my god. think of the levels. think of the implications.#think of kant falling in love and driving himself insane with guilt over what he's doing only to find out that bison knew the whole time#think of the heartbreak the betrayal the shock the confusion the anger. im foaming at the mouth quite frankly

Two things about The Heart Killer I did not expect to be the way they are.
a) Bison being the one to fear the most b) Fadel being the only one most likely to actually fall in love at this point.
Let's elaborate.
Bison being played by Khao is already a babygirl factor but for him to be the one to be feared the most out of him and Fadel is not something I expected after episode 1. I fully thought Fadel was the more darker and badass but boy is just closed off in fear of getting hurt again. Like Fadel now seems to be the most likely to be the most traumatised. He was the one telling Bison off for getting with Kant. He's the one saying that they need nobody, that they have their life decided, that they shouldn't be weak or fall in love. Yet he's the one most likely to fall into that rabbit hole.
Kant's motive is his criminal record and the fact that he's working for the Captain. Kant knows he's already in trouble with the unofficial threats that Bison has thrown his way. Saying things like "You won't get burgers anymore but you also will be turned into burgers" or "i gave you my heart, take good care of it", the way he talks about what if people break their trust and every time Kant looks intimidated and a bit scared but tries to play it off. Same with the whole d/s bdsm part that we got. Didn't expect Kant to be that scared and intimidated of the whole thought of Bison being so dark at random times.
I feel like Kant has to fear Bison more than Fadel but if they find out they will both most likely fuck him up anyway so boy is in deep shit right here.
Another thing about Bison I'm not 100% sure of but hope it will be the case is that he turned the tables on Kant. Kant being there trying to get with Bison for information while most likely falling in love eventually, Fadel telling Bison about Kant and his past and Bison being all curious and suspecting now had me think that he turned the table without Kant knowing. However, after the thing with his brother and how he told Fadel that Kant isn't what he used to be anymore had me questioning it a bit but I still hope the tables have turned.
Style, out of the four, is the only innocent person here who didn't even know what he got himself into when he agreed to get Fadel off KantBison's back. Now that he knows Fadel is a hitman his assholery and annoying acting has suddenly changed and he's now more scared than anything and I feel bad for him. Kant just out here dragging his bestie into this shithole.
I will feel bad for Fadel and Bison once they find out about everything but I will more feel bad for Fadel because in theory he only looked into Kant's background and warned Bison. Since Style doesn't have a background that is to look into he doesn't probably connect the dots that Style is just here helping Kant. Bison is more suspect of Kant and Fadel is suspect of Kant but neither have negative thoughts about Style. So once Fadel finds out that Style was just toying with him it's gonna be bad. Style has a lot of guts toying with a guy who already used a gun on him. I already thought that before he found out that he's a hitman but now that he actually knows he mellowed down so much. Idk if it will be sus for Fadel when Style suddenly isn't so annoying anymore or if he just takes it as them being together now and that Style stopped being annoying for the relationship sake.
So Fadel is definitely the first one to fall in love (which is funny given everything he said) and I'm curious to see who's next. I feel like Bison most likely is falling but if he turned the tables it might all be an act as well. I like that with him you don't know what he really feels. Does he know? Is he just playing? Is he actually in love? In my eyes he's more mysterious than Fadel at this point which is in fact the most interesting part about this whole thing. They're like the epitome of "Don't judge a book by it's cover". Because looking at them at first you thought one way when in reality it's the other way around.

interestingly i keep typing bisonfadel for your url x 10?
a small detail in ep2 1/4 fadel keeps his room locked
wow you come into my house and go straight for the beast's lair, huh?
let's talk about the locked room, nonnie. but before that i must talk about everything that's fucking bison up and then in my true adhd magic it will all somehow tie back to that godforsaken locked room.
[Screenshot from Bison's intro where he says "I also don't like...liars"
See, no one knows Bison better than Khaotung and when I watched his intro again, I thought the things he said felt significant; had more layers than perhaps I initially thought (yes im aware he also pulled that northern lights self insert not everything that comes out of that beautiful mouth can be gems).
And well, this thing about liars. It's obviously about Kant, very very obviously. But Bison gets lied to a lot. By everyone and he's in the dark a lot, and unfortunately unlike Styles he's neither curious nor very perceptive (you have to stick to the end to figure out why this is not a criticism). In fact, he can sometimes be a little shockingly obtuse.
[Screenshots of Bison saying "He (Fadel) doesn't believe in love" and "Too bad I have an actual beating heart, unlike the dead cold thing in your chest"
first of all, sir, you are asian you can't just go badmouth your brother to some random guy you fucked once. but also what a cruel thing to think about your brother - a brother who is abundant in acts of service and towards whom bison shows, frankly, very little fear. bianca and kat are in high school, you can't lift their personalities onto adults and have them mean the same things.
Bison is an adult, with arguably the exact same responsibilities as Fadel. He doesn't just work at the burger place.
He owns it too. They do the exact same job, they're under the same pressure. How obtuse does he have to be to conclude that Fadel, whom he trusts in absolutes and genuinely loves, doesn't have any needs????
a genuinely insane thing to say about Fadel. Style cracks that egg open in one day. Fadel is constantly giving into Bison, for literally everything except things that will make Khun Mae angry. there's no malice between the two brothers either. It's abundantly clear Bison adores Fadel, wants the best for him, trusts his judgement and most importantly wants his approval.
Yes, he's edging Kant, but he's also sincerely trying to get Fadel's approval. He really, really wants everything to happen above the board. He wants to do right by Kant and Fadel. They're both really important, that's why they both get to have stakes in his dating life.
Fadel loves Bison so much that I genuinely think that Bison is his heart. He was so fragile from the heartbreak of his first love (or maybe even just the hardships of this career path idk) that he poured it all into Bison (yes it is very Wen Kexing and Gu Xiang of them tyvm). How could Bison think that Fadel doesn't believe in love?
It wasn't until i saw bison engaging in non consensual sex with Kant, completely unknowingly, because Kant lied about consenting. Except it was so obvious, it was so obvious he was lying. But Bison couldn't see it because he was drugged, because Kant impaired his ability to see the truth....
...Locked door.
Fadel and Bison are so in sync in some ways, the assassinations for sure. Fadel doesn't forget to include Bison when it comes to getting their mark
And all the cute bickering. But they also kind of just bicker? Kant and Babe have a sliver of Fadel and Bison's time, but their interactions are a lot more balanced, which includes bickering. But also other things like hanging out, talking about school, books, dreams.
like a true asian father fadel has forgot to sprinkle in even an ounce of intimacy amidst all that devotion. Forget sharing his past trauma, fadel has locked his bedroom, his interests, even his schedule away. I can't get over how Bison simply doesn't know what Fadel does every day even though he does the exact same thing.
Bison isn't incapable of getting real, he gets real with Kant, establishes boundaries, shuts him down, cares for him.
But with Fadel it kind of feels as though a constant undercurrent of conflict or a threat is necessary to keep them afloat. Fadel loves him but without this constant beating against Fadel's rough insides, would Fadel even talk to him? take an interest in him? notice what he wears? or asks him what his favorite story is?
Anyway, yeah it's weird that Fadel keeps his bedrom door locked. Maybe, Bison pranked on him too hard once.

It's okay to dislike a character, not feeling it or even hating it if it's completely opposite to what you believe in or you just find it impossible to endure but what's wrong and you have no right to is not being able to get inside the rules of the show and understand that in THAT world, things work that way. Who is the most dangerous person between Kant and Bison? If you said Kant, you are completely wrong. The only time I felt safe during Kant/Bison scenes is when Kant successfully put Bison to sleep, who is the one who can actually kill? And if you're angry with Style for the loss club group, do you think he was there after reflecting about where he was going? That dude probably didn't even know the name of the group because he needed to ask what he had to say because he didn't know. My man was there just following Fadel, he was only looking at him all the time. And all his acting was so fucking funny. Nobody cried and Fadel ended up fucking him so, the only one crying it's you. I'm sorry. Just chill. The show isn't bad yet.

my end of year bl wrap-up
2024 was my first full year of watching bl and i watched 23 shows that aired this year (and played catch-up with a lot of others!). here are some of my favourites of the year across a bunch of categories (some not so serious...), so let's go!
Favourite Show: Pit Babe
it had to be, right? pit babe took over my brain in so many ways and i don't think a single day goes by that i don't think about it at least a little. whatever season 2 brings us, i'm so damn grateful to this show for it's incredible characters.
(runner ups: Cherry Magic TH, The Trainee, Jack & Joker)
Favourite Couple: PhayaTharn (The Sign)
there are so many contenders for this one, but i've been thinking about the sign a lot lately and just... yeah. utterly ridiculous soulmates who would move heaven and earth for each other.
(runner ups: CharlieBabe, JackJoke, SanVee, YakDee, KaranAchi, FadelStyle)
Favourite Second/Side Couple: AlanJeff (Pit Babe)
no competition. i love them so much, i'm still unwell about them and it's been a year. i hadn't written fic in years and then suddenly i'm writing 32k words about them. they're everything to me.
(runner ups: YaiSand, OyeiCher, KornTonkla (don't), QToey)
Favourite OST: Re-Move On (My Love Mix Up)
this one is a surprise, and there's a lot of competition! when it comes to k-dramas i'm all about the ballad, but it very much seems for thai bl i'm more for the fun! GeminiFourth do SUCH a good job on this one, and it makes me happy every single time i hear it.
(runner ups: Love Training (The Trainee), Speed of Love (Pit Babe), No More Dream (DFF))
Favourite Kiss: Jack and Joke (Jack & Joker)
just like everyone else, i'm sure. i've been ready to call karan/achi's first kiss as my favourite all year, closely followed by alan/jeff's but GOD yinwar really held no punches with this one. the desire, the yearning, the push and pull. it's perfect.
Favourite NC Scene: Cherry Magic TH
similarly to favourite kiss, jack & joker came out of nowhere and really gave us everything, but i cry every time i watch episode 11 of cherry magic th. it's the eye contact between karan and achi, the tiny quirk of karan's eyebrow that shows us he's asking achi if he's sure, the earnestness of it all and oh my god the music.
(runner ups: Jack & Joker, 4 Minutes, Two Worlds)
Favourite Costuming: a tie between Love Sea and Century of Love
c'mon you can't ask me to choose between stylish old man San and decadent rich boy on holiday Tongrak!!
Favourite Character: Jeff (Pit Babe)
i said i think about little else, and i mean it. he's a fascinating character with so much trauma who has so much love to give (i promise) and he's my perfect perfect boy.
(runner ups: Fadel (The Heart Killers), Achi (Cherry Magic TH), Joke (Jack & Joker), Tan (DFF))
Favourite Female Character: Sand (The Sign)
the downside of this genre is that that women are often few and far between (hello pit babe not having a single female character...). but oh my god Sand. she's beautiful, she's snarky, she's loving. she's played by yoshi rinrada. what's more to love???
(runner ups: Mudmee (MLMU), Pie (The Trainee), Pai (Cherry Magic TH)
Best Friends: ArmSandPo (Perfect 10 Liners)
i haven't had them for very long, and i've already lost them to the next chapter of the show, but these three are everything to me. they're so fucking funny, and i did not expect it. but the three of them sharing a dorm room for a whole year? that entire scene where they're trying to fake that arm is home in bed while he's out on the town? po's eternal singleness??? i adore them.
(runner ups: the We Are gang, Tongrak and Vivi (Love Sea), Plawan and JJ (TLDHLB)
Worst Friends: Everyone in DFF
i mean there's no competition. these are the worst people. they're selfish, cruel, manipulative and cowardly.
Best Brothers: Charlie and Jeff (Pit Babe)
i love them. if anyone saw my pit babe rewatch, there was at least one post about them per episode. their found family, only one who truly knows and understands dynamic just hits. they're gonna stand up for each other and do everything in their power to protect each other. they love each other, they hurt each other, they build each other up. yeah. yeah they're good.
(runner up: Yai and Tharn (The Sign)
Favourite (Temporary) Break Up: YakDee (Wandee Goodday)
was i devastated it happened? year. do i think it had to happen for the story to progress? yeah. was i devastated by the image of wandee going to reach for yak's necklace only to realise it's not there? YEAH. (you get a poster for this one b/c wandee is only on viki now and you can't screenshot)
Cringiest: Khun Dad (Sunset x Vibes)
nothing has given me the ick more than lin calling sun 'khun dad' (at least until he called him daddy in front of all their coworkers). finding this screenshot and having to watch this again was painful (sun, you could have said no!!!!!)
Most Visceral Viewing Experience: DFF
i cannot put into words the emotions that i felt watching this week to week. i was devastated, i was appalled, i was confused, i was angry. i never want to put myself (or non) through that again, but christ it'll stay with me for a long long time.
(runner up: 4 Minutes)
Best Kitchen Health Code Violations: This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans
there's a competitor now with the heart killers airing, but oab and plawan got it on in at least three different kitchens. they deserve this.
Worst Death: World One Thai (Two Worlds)
they go through all of that, only to die... by snake bite??? i remember just pausing the episode and having to sit with that for a while, because what do you mean he just got taken out at the eleventh hour by a snake bite?????
Best Villain: Tony (Pit Babe)
he's stylish, he drinks green juice, he's called 'daddy' by all, he kills kids, he deals in human trafficking, he wants to sell his favourite adopted son's hypothetical baby, he's not winning any father of the year awards, but he can win this one.
Favourite Physical Fight: Mahasamut and Tongrak's Dad (Love Sea)
once again, i wanted to pick jackjoke because every interaction they have has me frothing at the mouth. but mut beating the shit out of rak's dad? that was delicious. the idea that he'd been uncollared?? the build up of weeks of him being on his best behaviour, and when finally given freedom (however unwillingly), the first thing he does is stand up for his man? good shit.
Favourite Emotional Fight: Jack and Joke (Jack & Joker)
they're winning this one. everything that happens in that fucking hospital ruined me entirely. the intensity that yinwar bring to every scene, paired with war's ability to be the most devastating crier possible just made this. perfect (and i'm still sad about it, even now).
(runner ups: OabPlawan (TLDHLB), GodDew (Monster Next Door))

So do they not check the camera in their super not so secret murderboard room daily then? There’s not a silent alarm on the room that notifies them that someone has entered? They are hitmen yet their house can be easily breached by a dumbfuck car thief?? Almost makes me not feel sorry for them for the inevitable heartbreak that’s gonna knock them both out. Put better locks on your murderboard room!!! Mother Lilly raised amateurs apparently!
Is Bison saving Babe what finally gets Kant to turn on the cops?
Style knows Fadel can wreck his shit but he’s into that. He basically said ‘you scare the fuck out of me but also you scare the fuck into me so what’s a twink to do?”

Sneak peak of the Kidnapped Style fic I'm writing for @kaleidoskuls
Style wakes up slowly, which is probably a good thing, because it gives him time to adjust to the pain his body is in.
He tries to stretch, to shake out his tingly limbs, but startles when he realizes that he can't.
His eyes snap open, and he looks around in complete confusion.
He's shirtless and tied to a chair in a cold, dark, cellar-like room.
Where the fuck is he?
And how did he get here?
The last thing he remembers is leaving Kant at the pool…he was heading straight to the Diner but…obviously he never made it there.
At first, he thinks that maybe this is just an amped up version of a role play. He and Fadel were kind of working their way through some fun scenes, but there's a few things about this situation that indicate that this is not a part of one of Fadel's kinky plans.
One being the lack of a heads up, and two being that they'd agreed that drugs were off the table. And by the way his head feels like he'd downed a fifth of his Dad's special tequila and his mouth feels like it's been stuffed with cotton, he's pretty sure he's coming down from being drugged.
But who the hell could have-
Do you think the police are just going to let them go if we find their boss? Stop trying to think your way out of this, Style. Even if we find out who they work for, this only ends in two ways.
Kant's voice echoes in his head, and he realizes just who it is that has him.
It's his boyfriend's boss. The one that hands out the hits.
He doesn't have much time to worry about that though, because as soon as he starts moving and making noise the door opens and a man with glasses and a smartly dressed middle aged woman come into the room.
“Ah, is our guest finally awake?” The woman says, voice dripping fake sweetness as she approaches him.
Style shifts the best he can in order to gather enough confidence to reply, “Oh? Is this a hotel? If so, I'm definitely giving it 1 star. Your hospitality really needs work, and the accommodations are crap.”
When the woman smiles, it's sharp. Lethal. It makes Style's skin crawl.
She looks over at the man. “It looks like we have a funny one on our hands. I didn't think my son was into comedic acts.”
He can't hold back his reaction. “You're Fadel's mom?”
That doesn't make sense because Fadel said his parents were murdered, and the look in his eyes when he said it….he wasn't lying.
She doesn't respond, only rakes her eyes over him before glaring and turning away, walking back towards the door.
“If you make him talk, I'll let you out on the field next time.” She says to the man, who just gives a deep wai and a muttered, Yes, Khun Mae, and then she's gone.
That was definitely the boss. A boss that refers to her hitman as her fucking sons.
Now he's alone in the room with the man who looks at him like he's dog shit oj the bottom of his shoe. When he strides closer, Style realizes that he recognizes him.
“You came to the diner.” He says, “To see Fadel. Who the hell are you people?”
The other man just frowns and takes off his glasses, tucking them away in his shirt pocket before rolling up the sleeves of his nice dress shirt.
“I’m the one that asks the questions here." He says before grabbing a handful of Style’s hair. It hurts, but he's had worse. Fadel has pulled it harder.
“Then ask your questions and get this over with.” He hisses. He knows he probably sounds like a spy. He probably sounds like a cocky asshole fitting the role they believe him to be in.
But the truth is…he's absolutely terrified.
He can handle some pain…but torture? He can't handle that. He'll do his best, but he knows himself. He will eventually fold if they hurt him enough.
He just hopes Fadel goes looking for him before he rats out his best friend and lands him in a seat right next to him.
“What are your plans with Fadel?” The man asks, digging his fingers into his jaw.
If it had been Fadel doing it, he would be getting turned on, but since it isn't, Style is only irritated and a little afraid. “To love and cherish him.” He says, partially to be a smart ass, but also because it's the truth.
But apparently, the man doesn't agree. He lets go, only to viciously backhand him across the face.
“Why are you spying on him?”
“I’m not.” He insists, “I like him. Why are you doing this? Are you his family or something?"
He ignores his question and hits him again. “Who sent you?”
His lip splits. He can taste the blood on his tongue. “No one. Why would anyone send me to spy on my boyfriend?”
That's apparently not the right thing to say.
He brings back his fist and lands a solid punch to his abdomen. Style immediately groans with the force and pain of it. He feels like he's going to vomit.
“Who sent you to spy on him?” He asks again.
“Nobody!" He repeats, trying and failing to prepare for the next hit to his stomach.
“Who are you working for?!”
“My Dad!! I’m a fucking mechanic!”
It goes on and on. Style answering the questions with half truths. He keeps Kants name out of his mouth and tries to get this guy to understand that he loves Fadel. He's not whatever or whoever they think he is.
But no matter what he says or doesn't say, the violence continues, until his right eye swells shut and blood drips down his chin from his nose and shredded lip. He's in so much pain he can hardly stay present. He wants to just float away in his head.
But then the man puts his hands around his throat and everything comes back online. He is choking him hard, putting in the effort to bring him to unconsciousness, but before he can slip awwy, his body does something stupid. A moan slips out.
And well, he's starving, tired, and only fucking human.
The man looks shocked as he releases his hold on him, but then he grins.“Oh? Maybe you have been telling the truth. Maybe you are just Fadel's little slut-”
He spits blood on the man's face. “Fuck you. Only Fadel can call me that.”
He only gets to see a glimpse of the fury on the guys face before he's hit so hard the chair falls backwards…
And he slips into blissful unconsciousness.

A few thoughts about THK ep 6 ✨🔪
THK just confirmed to me something I already knew: A soundtrack can make a whole scene. That song that Jojo chose for the ending of ep 6 BROKE ALL OF US. Holy shit did it hit hard… I couldn’t rewatch the ep for days mainly because of those last few minutes.
Khao’s acting was so phenomenal that I’m not surprised he cried during their reaction video. I just know he was one and the same with Bison at that moment because there’s no other way you can convey such plethora of emotions. It reminded me of Qian’s crying scene in “Unknown” when he was about to lose Yuan. The actor (Chris Chiu) had continued crying backstage because he inhabited his character so fully that he struggled stepping out of it.
That being said, it’s Joong that did it for me in the worst, soul snatching, heart wrenching way possible. That dance, that kiss, those eyes, that resigned gentleness. I’ve watched a lot of stuff this year but I can point to this scene as the hardest one to digest. It may be because I got attached to this show, idk, but i still can’t shake it off.
Fadel’s eyes… if I were Style, I’d catch onto it right away and be so fucking worried because have you seen his eyes ??? Utterly wrecked, they were gutted, so so tragic and melancholy. Everyone was left reeling after that love confession but it’s the body language that struck a chord with me. You could’ve stabbed Fadel at that moment and he wouldn’t have budged. That vulnerability, helplessness and collapse - UGHHHHH. I really thought that no 2024 bl character would’ve topped Tian’s teary scene in “the on1y one”, then again, I was proven wrong. Both are incredible but at least, Tian knew what was going on with Wang, unlike Fadel who now believes Style is just using him. That difference is what tipped the balance for me.
And that gentleness?? I’m starting to believe that Joong may be the sultriest, most seductive bl actor when it comes to physical touch. The way he touches Style as if he were made of glass - as if what they had might buckle and shatter at any second. That softness and slow kisses and featherlike touches were more harrowing than any violent reaction could’ve ever been.
Going back to my first point: THAT FUCKING SONG (“Bitter Heart” by Memi and Carlén) tied it all up and delivered a gut-wrenching emotional impact. The rhythm of the song aligned flawlessly with Joong’s acting, beat for beat - it was truly cinematic peak. I HATE YOU JOJO (and love your evil brains equally).
Anyway, as much as I hate this episode for tearing my heart apart, I can’t deny that they all outdid themselves. It was beautiful.
However, (and this is personal wishful thinking) while I know we will be subjected to even more heartbreak in the upcoming episodes, I would love if they toned it down a little because I’m not sure if I can keep up with this tragic intensity when I’ve been promised a romantic comedy. (I’m saying this rn because I know that after ep 6, things will only be going downhill between characters) They kept talking about the show being a romantic comedy in so many interviews that it would be a shame if it turns into a heavy melodrama. The trailers were misleading enough, let’s not mess with the genre too much, as well. Please, I might seriously cry 😭 and love you all a lot DAMN IT.
#the heart killers#finally said my piece after days of coping#please don’t drag out the heartbreak PLEASEEE#fadelstyle#fadel x style#kant x bison#kantbison#joongdunk#khaotungfirst#firstkhao#bl series#the heartkillers

You know what makes me soooo excited for the next phase of Fadel and Style's relationship? It's that they will finally slot into the CORRECT relationship dynamics because this whole time, it's been flipped.
From the beginning, something felt off, and I think it's because Style's true desire is to be pursued. We are shown this pretty much in Style's introduction when he blatantly puts his body on display with the Crop Top Stretch. Style wants to be approached, wants to be propositioned, wants to be desired. Also, remember how he initially flirts with Fadel when his only motivation was his own attraction? He pinned the Heart Burger badge onto his chest to create an opportunity for Fadel to put his hands on Style's body.
Of course Fadel wasn't pursuing Style; was in fact, actively trying to get away (for reasons OTHER than a lack of physical attraction to Style), so it is the plot that has to drive our lovebirds together using Kant's request and partly Style's own desire to get some revenge.
But throughout their interactions, we constantly see glimpses of Style's desire to be pursued: every single time Fadel even shows a HINT of wanting Style, he immediately falls pliant, like he can't wait to let Fadel take the reins. And nothing shows this more clearly than the absolutely blissed out look on Style's face in Ep 4 when he thinks Fadel has finally admitted that he wants Style.
(Fucking hell, just look at how dazed and almost euphoric Style looks here? It's like Style has been starving for the barest hint that Fadel truly wants him.)
Which is also why we've gotten so many fake outs. Because although Fadel IS attracted to Style (Ep 2 made that...abundantly clear), he isn’t remotely ready to pursue anyone. Not only is Fadel nursing a broken heart, barely beating, he also has very justified suspicions about Style’s connection to Kant and Style's unnatural persistence.
So it's Style that has to pursue - he dodges Fadel's footsteps, and bullies his way into Fadel's life; but in between the frustration and annoyance, Fadel's walls begin to crack. And I think it's SO COOL that the first significant evidence we have of Fadel's walls crumbling is because Style puts his body on display for Fadel. Because Fadel responded to something that was naturally part of the way Style operates before he even met Fadel. And there are other, more compelling reasons why I think Fadel begins to fall for Style, but that's not really the point I'm trying to make here.
When Fadel said "If I like you, I'll do the pursuing", it wasn't just to get Style to back off. Because now that Fadel has finally chosen to explore something real with Style, we are seeing Fadel's words in action. I know some people have said Fadel's switch to flirting so blatantly with Style in Ep 4's gym scene came out of left field, but I think it may well be confirmation that this was always the dynamic they were meant to be in. Fadel likes pursuing and Style likes being pursued. They fit, they match, they're perfectly compatible.
(Fadel looks almost faintly amused by how "flustered" Style is. Because he doesn't know that Style is actually afraid of him - why would he, when Style has evidenced zero fear so far? So this comes across like Style is getting shy in response to Fadel's unexpected and more overt approach. And possibly this is Fadel starting to remember how much he enjoys the chasing.)
Unfortunately, Kant's revelation is going to screw allll of this up. But, we are finally going to see glimpses of how they work when they're aligned correctly in their dynamics! And while it will take a journey (and oh, it will be gloriously painful, won't it?), our boys are finally on the road to something lasting and I am sooo glad we get to come along for the ride. <3
#fadelstyle#fadel#style sattawat#the heart killers#the heart killers the series#thk meta#Also I think one of the reasons why Style's anger in ep 4 seemed much more INTENSE is that he really DID think#that Fadel missing him meant something real had shifted between them.#And he was GENUINELY hurt - potentially for the first time; more even than when Fadel punched him after they had sex.#Because he could tell - even during the act - that Fadel's heart wasn't in the encounter.#But the kitchen scene in episode 4... that was Style thinking he'd made a breakthrough.#And Fadel dangled what Style wanted the MOST and then also MOCKED him for it.#Which is why Style lashed out at the support group AGAIN.#// also I do think it was a GOOD thing that Style had to step outside of his comfort zone for this relationship to even start#because in a way it shows that Style does want something real with Fadel at the end of the day#he's literally the only person with ZERO actual real stakes in this game other than his loyalty to Kant; if he really wanted he could bail#/// ALSO even if fadel IS planning something with his sudden change in behaviour#i think its also possible that he's having fun with it because its what he'd like to do anyway#like they don't have to be mutually exclusive approaches#because yeah fadel's last look at style's retreating back was very... contemplative#<- thoughts that didn't really make sense with the point i was trying to make but came up while I was thinking it through#hui talks thk#hui talks thai bl

I was on my own. Tending to my burger making business by day and unaliving people by night. You came out of nowhere, followed, no, stalked me—my morning jog, my grocery run, the sauna, the freaking loss-support group where you spoke some bs about losing your cat.
You said you were interested, I mean, I finally gave in and fucked you in hopes you’d get over it but no, you started talking all that shit about wanting to be with me and being my 100% one day and what? You’re just a snitch?
FUCK.

Hi!! What are your thoughts on the confrontations at the empty pool vs the ocean? Obviously the ocean is relevant to kant's past but the juxtaposition of the two is so interesting to me but I can't really figure out if that was just an aesthetic choice or if there's actually something to it.
Looking forward to your thesis about the boat scene!!
omg thank you for asking and i will absolutely be writing an in depth post about the boat scene probably later on cause it was sooo chock full of things and first kanaphan deserves every fucking award possible for that scene
i will say, i think when it comes to analyzing media, there are so few things that are done and chosen "just for aesthetic." i've had other people comment on that when i've talked about the religious imagery, and while yes, aesthetic is important in media and often times can be reason enough for directors and designers to choose them, i would say more often than not there is also meaning behind big choices like set. they put fadel and style in an empty pool for a reason, just as they put kant and bison on the boat for a reason.
now, the boat was likely a very obvious choice for bison because like you said, it's relevant to kant's past and kant told him on their first date that he was scared of the ocean. so, of course tying him up and putting him on a boat surrounded by water to confront him would be the exact sort of psychological torture bison would want to inflict on kant.
but when you compare it to fadel and style, i think it's also a way of representing openness, and in a way it's a representation of each couple.
because fadel confronts style in an empty pool, and he's stripped style almost completely naked. style is laid almost totally bare, and that's true in a literal sense as well as a metaphorical sense, because fadel knows he's a "snitch." and the thing about fadel and style is that while yes, there's been lies and deception there, style has also been very earnest in every way he can be. it was only more recently that he had to start lying for real, and even then he still sneaks in as much truth and openness with fadel as he possibly can. and it's exactly what he does here - even with a gun to his head and fadel telling him not to say he loves him, style still says it because it's true and style doesn't know how to be anything but open and honest with fadel.
and then when it comes to the bison and kant of it all, there's a lot more lies and deception. kant is not laid bare in the same way - bison even has him in essentially a costume by putting him in the patient scrubs. but at the center of it all is the fact that even with all the lies, even with the murky waters, kant has been honest with bison. he's been vulnerable with him. and that's how bison knows putting kant on a boat and telling him to jump overboard is the cruelest thing he could do to him. it's fair game to bison because of what kant did to him, but it also shows that even if bison thinks everything was a lie, there was always some amount of truth to it. because kant never had to give an assassin his biggest fear, but he did it anyways.
i also think the empty pool vs the ocean says a lot about bison and fadel's intentions in the scene, even on a subconscious level. i don't think fadel at any point planned to actually hurt style. maybe he told himself he would, but i think deep down he knew he would never be able to go through with it. so, he puts him in an empty pool where yeah, he can get hurt if he pushes style into it and he hits the floor of the pool, but those injuries likely won't be serious enough to kill him - and he won't drown.
whereas bison, despite likely also knowing he can't actually hurt kant himself, took him somewhere he could make kant do it for him. and even then, it's clear he regrets it as soon as kant hits the water, because he's calling out to him as soon as he jumps off, as if he didn't expect him to actually do it. bison wants to hurt kant but he knows he can't, whereas fadel wants to want to hurt style and knows he can't. and those are two very different things.
#idk if this makes sense but like. yknow?#its about openness and intention#the heart killers#fadelstyle#kantbison#asks#my analysis#mine
