I started the "Drawing Ditko Faces" during #inktober. I'm now back to it trying to find out what makes these faces so recognizable. The more I draw them the more they puzzle me. Certain aspects just defy explanation, others seem just patently wrong. When I tell people Ditko is my favorite artist, they think it's because of #Spiderman #doctorstrange #creeper or his other unique creations. But I'm fascinated with his ability to draw what I called, "ruggedly handsome-without the handsone". He drew ordinary better than most. I especially liked his rendition of older people.
