What a strange orphanage this is.
It’s been said that small children do behave like dogs. They need training and routine. Training them is essential. An untrained dog becomes unruly, a menace, destroys your furniture, defecates and urinates anywhere, barking excessively, and no or too much self-confidence.
Pomeranian: The Ciel-like class has the characteristics of this breed. “Cute, feisty and furry, Poms are intelligent and loyal to their families. Don't let their cuteness fool you, however. These independent, bold dogs have minds of their own. They are alert and curious about the world around them. Unfortunately, in their minds, they are much larger than they really are, which can sometimes lead them to harass and even attack much larger dogs.”
Mastiff : The Sebastian Michaelis lookalikes embody these aspects too. “They are patient, lovable companions and guardians who take best to gentle training. Eternally loyal Mastiffs are protective of family, and a natural wariness of strangers makes early training and socialization essential.”
Collies : The insecure Mey-rin doubles have these traits reminiscent of this breed. “These swift, athletic dogs thrive on companionship and regular exercise. With gentle training, they learn happily and rapidly.”
Corgis : They look like a dozen Dolls. “The breed has an excellent disposition, is highly affectionate, loyal, and they adore their families. Additionally, Corgis need to be around their humans the majority of the time to prevent destructive behaviors, and this is perfect for families who have children or stay-at-home moms.”
There’s this poignant scene from the famous film “Amores Perros” (“Love’s a Bitch”) by Alejandro González Iñárritu where a killer dog, Cofi, when left with several dogs in a room behave like one of an untamed beast by devouring and hurting them as in a dogfight. The innate characteristics come out. The dogs are part of a symbolism. It was a beautifully orchestrated film that would put you on the edge of your seat because of how real it is to live in this dog-eat-dog, survival-of-the-fittest world.
If Undertaker is, indeed, the mastermind, it is interesting how he views the humankind, categorise them through different dog breed because that’s how we behave untamed. We devour each other. Literally and figuratively. He’s above us and, probably, laughing at us.

"Clinical trials"
Been thinking long and hard about this one, but the more we see of F.O.L orphanage, the more I'm convinced that the goal of the Undertaker and other possible deserters involved in this project (so basically the Aurora society and possibly the Osiris company) is to eventually make a business out of the BD project.
Clinical trials are used to determine whether or not a new drug can make it onto the public market for new patients. So the BD project being a feat of "ultra advanced medicine" (with successful blood transfusions, maybe soon organ transplants, as well as resurrection) could soon be advertised and sold to everyone (since everyone has one of the 4 blood types).
Because the more humans involved and interested by this technology, the more the threat towards the Shinigami higher ups that Othello mentioned in ch149...
...becomes realistic and achievable. After all, like Queen Victoria said:
I'll go even further and say that, on the off chance that Theo and the other kids manage to make it to the newspaper (highly doubtful but let's consider it), it's very likely that real!Ciel's side will turn this "proof" against them and use it as advertisement.
Because sure, some poor orphan kids did die, but clearly no one will care if they find that out that "now we have a way to make your life longer and to avoid death, so what do y'all say?"
A ray of hope though, you know who is a very experienced businessman ? This kid here :D
And who knows, with Sieglinde's help, Ada's and several other allies, he might be able to counter that very profitable business plan... :D
(I love the idea even more if we're considering that the BD business will florish mostly on the black market of the underworld and our!Ciel will be the one to put an end to it, proving he's the most competent Watchdog)
Something to think about !! :D

Kuroshitsuji theory (spoilers ahead)
Where is the F.O.L orphanage located in Norfolk?
This post was made a lot more in depth thanks to @abybweisse (please go ready their post about this subject once you are done here :))
Thanks to chapter 210 we know we are by a river, and that leave 4 maybe 5 rivers it could be; these rivers being Bure, Ouse, Wensum, Yare and maybe Waveny.
And I suspect we are along the River Yare, specifically at the Haddiscoe new cut (where the River Yare meets the river Waveny at the cut)
And you’re probably wondering why I think this, let me explain.
First of all, the surrounding location of the F.O.L orphanage. We know it’s slightly raised on a hill, that’s surrounded by flat marsh / farm lands with a forest on the back of the building and has a river running near by and a transition along the river. As well as that the showing of seagulls in the start of the arc reveals it’s relatively close to the ocean. All of these factors are very similar to hadiscoe in 1889.
Originally I thought it was Haddiscoe Manor House but threw research done by Aby and myself, I now suspect that Raven Hall is the location of the of the orphanage. This is also correlated by the location of the river to the Hall shown in the map that Theo shows us of the underground tunnels.
Raven Hall is a farm house estate just off of the yare river and inside of the Haddiscoe island. The estate also had a water mill pump called the Red Mill (in 1889 this would of been knows as the langley detached drainage pump), which is a drainage mill like the one mentioned, at the end of the chapter when the kids have to swim threw the drainage system to get out of the estate.
This drainage mill pumps water from the surrounding area to the river Yare, which is what Theo says the the mill by them does.
Another thing to consider is how Finny and Snake would of got to this location by train. As we are shown at the start of the arc Finny and snake take a train to a far out station and walk in to the orphanage. I suspect they took the end of the line route that goes from Norwich to Lowestoft, but instead of taking the line to the end they got off at Haddiscoe station that is located on the south side of the cut next to st olaves. They would of then walked over one of the many bridges to the island and up to the F.O.L orphanage.
This also link to a safe way to get to the meeting point with the O!Ciel. Once the investigation on the orphanage was done, snake and Finny would have only need to follow the river Yare to get to Great Yarmouth or River Waveny to end up in Lowestoft. These towns were both port town which means they would have had trade route ships which could have taken them directly to Brighton by ocean instead of having to travel the whole country by foot or train.
With all these facts i am quite sure this is the location of the orphanage!
Thanks for reading, if you have any thing to add or if I’ve missed something please feel free to comment :D

Just read the chapter and, even if I kinda never want to see Kelvin again, I gotta say that this...
...reminds me of this...
Additionally, who else is there?
Considering all the foreshadowing, it does make more sense to think we know this orphanage’s benefactor, so who else could it be besides BD!Kelvin? Druitt? Joker himself acting as Kelvin 2.0? One man from the cult that bought the twins and who survived Seb's summoning? (to say nothing of UT using one of these men, unless it's done out of threats) All these options seem less likely than Kelvin at the moment.
Unless we actually don’t know this benefactor yet, but that would be quite anticlimactic for now, especially considering all the parallels with the circus arc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
.,
....potential Kelvin bizarre doll?????

Looks familiar...?
Several times while wandering through the F.O.L. Orphanage Finny has the feeling that he has seen the building and the rooms within it somewhere before.
And he’s right. Parts of the orphanage look very similar to rooms in the Phantomhive Manor. Here are some examples (left: Phantomhive Manor; right: F.O.L. Orphanage):
There’s the big staircase at the entrance...
...the reception room...
...or the servants’ room:
Looks like someone modeled the orphanage after Phantomhive Manor.
And it’s not just the looks. The children in the orphanage are being taught to act like servants and to manage a household like a manor...
...and then there are children whose teachings (and way of dressing) are very similar to the Phantomhive twins’ education and tastes.
It kinda seems as if the orphanage is trying to recreate the twins. The focus on games...
...even the preference of certain tastes (which is something the “aptitude test” is asking about)...
...that they get their own room (which again looks familiar) when they turn ten (a very important date in the twins’ lives).
All these similarities to the twins are kinda eerie and too much to be a coincidence. I wonder what’s the purpose of that...

It has been 77 days since the Kuroshitsuji hiatus was announced.
Nick laughs with abandon as he races through the manor’s front lawn in a spirited game of tag with his friends. After spending years trapped within the walls of F.O.L. Orphanage, it feels like the whole world has become his playground!

Kuroshitsuji Manga Spoiler THEORY Time:
I only have the cover so far, but let's take a look at the panels.
To make the whole thing logical and orderly I will start with the lower one.
Finnian
It shows Finnian, who holds the Fenian cycle book in his hands. About the meaning of the book we already know the following.
The twins were read it as children by Vincent.
Finnian was named Fenian by Ciel.
It appears in the F.O.L. orphanage.
Ciel is applied by the viewer and is opposite Finnian. Sebastian is behind Finnian and watches what happens. Finnian sees these two as his saviors, the once that made him into who he is now.
Finnian is generally very loyal to Ciel and protective.
Snake
Snake we see emaciated, dirty with long fingernails, covered only with a blanket and surrounded by his snakes. They all look up at Doll, who reaches out her hand to Snake. Like Ciel, she is turned away from the viewer.
Through these parallels, Doll is given the same meaning for Snake as Ciel has for Finnian, and also his snakes.
So what if...
...this is a clue. We already know how loyal Finnian is to Ciel, so is this an indication that Finnian has a similar relationship to Doll and will therefore turn against our Ciel to be on Doll's side?
Another similarity between the characters is the connection with book names. Finnian's name is based on Fenian cycle, and Snakes are named after famous authors in the Victorian era.
Are the two two sides of the same coin? So similar, friends, and yet will perhaps find themselves on different sides in the end, as enemies?

Actually, I hope that Ciel drops one or two kids from F.O.L orphanage over at Sullivan's place. She must be in need of an assistant for her research. She must also feel awfully lonely locked up in that manor with Wolfram as her only company. I say Theo is a very solid candidate for the position!

THEORY TIME:
The children of the F.O.L orphanage are being raised in a specific environment, not for their blood, but for the Cinematic Records to keep certain others alive.
In earlier arcs, we know the Undertaker tried using false records and failed, then he tried stretching out real records by looping them, and now he may be using "look alike" records to keep the real ones going. That would explain why the children in Pomeranian are being raised to be copies of R!Ciel, down to his clothing.
The class Ginny was in wear clothing that closely resemble Doll's ensemble and Ginny's Fledgling Day was moved up right after Doll showed signs of regressing. Not to mention the importance of horse riding in their group (which we know Doll was skilled at).
But then who are the other groups keeping alive? Well, we know that one group is definitely training to be a butler and that one of Undertaker's lackies IS a butler (possibly Sébastien? Maybe Agni?) So that explains one class.
And the last? A group of biological boys living life as a woman? While I'm hoping this ISN'T where Yana is going with it, there's only one transgender woman in the series who we haven't seen in quite some time and that's Grell.

What He Has Become
With chapter 203, I couldn't help but think how much what's happening in F.O.L. Orphanage is similar to what happened with Baron Kelvin.
First, both started with orphanages, and Doll is present at both. In both cases, the children are used and mistreated. In fact, the emotionless children Kelvin had for his private shows, don't really seem that different than those Finny and the kids found under the stables. Both seem as if they are alive but also not really aware.
What makes this worse is Baron Kelvin was quite literally trying to replicate the cult that held both o!ciel and r!Ciel. So, if Undertaker's actions are starting to mirror those of Kelvin, he is quite literally becoming like those people that killed o!Ciel to begin with.
Thoughts?

I know that the blue revenge arc in kuroshitsuji is not over yet , but what's your opinion on it so far ? Which mission is your favorite and which new character you find interesting ?
Hey Anon ! My opinion is that the pacing of this arc absolutely sucks, even if I'm well aware that it's because Yana's way overworked. Unfortunately, I find it kind of often takes away the fun of this arc.
Going back a bit, I overall enjoyed Mey and Ran's investigation and I think Jane was an important character that we need to keep an eye on.
Bard's arc was slightly less interesting but I liked Ada, though I think it makes no sense for her to leave overseas, when she could have worked with Sieglinde and Wolfram. Who knows, maybe Sensei will back up on this idea and Ada will stay in England...
Also I think Layla is Lord Vega and Baron Heathfield's undead child [x][x], which is probably why Mey discovered a blood collect using drugged women in his mansion during her investigation.
Finny's arc was by far the one I liked the least because, Snake's tragic death aside T_T, Finny didn't discover the full purpose of F.O.L orphanage.
Sure, the kids and Finny know it's connected to the BD project, but nothing more. Personally, I believe it could be a test to turn the BD project into a profitable business [x] [x] [x], but we didn't really get more details about what these "clinical trials" were, so I was not happy. :(
However, I think it's good writing that all 3 investigations went differently (Mey succeeded without damage, Bard almost died but was saved by blood transfusions, Snake died and might become a BD) and that only Ciel and Seb will manage to put the pieces together.
That's about it. Can't say I'm excited about the upcoming investigation for now, but way more by whom we might meet and know more about next (Tanaka ? Joker ? Viscount of Druitt ?).
I hope it answers your question ! Have a good day, Anon. :))

@grelleswife
You know how Colli kids (like Oliver) are all boys ?
Well, with the whole “the more similar the kids are to the star lords the bigger the radiance”, Japanese fans proposed after seeing this chapter that Layla may actually be a boy and that Al may be the “dominant/main” personality of the Vega star lord.
Something to think about and keep in mind!
Yana’s flaunting her PhD in manga pseudoscience yet again. 🤪
On a more serious note, if the labels on these bottles shown in Chapter 119 match up with the number of stars above the kids’ heads, I think we have confirmation of each class’s blood type.
Mastiff: Polaris
Corgi: Canopus
Pomeranian: Sirius
Collie: Vega
Does this also support the notion that Layla is Star Lord Vega? It would certainly explain why all the children in Collie class were made to wear similar outfits to hers…

Human Experimentation or a Delicious Meal?
With Black Butler’s 203rd chapter release, we have more unsettling news for the F.O.L. Kids. I mentioned before that we still don’t know the full bane for the acronym but my suspicion is still leaning towards Funtom Orphanage Lab with the evidence from 203.
And once again our current arc through a sketchy orphanage is bringing up more similarities to another fave manga of mine of which I’ve talked about before: The Promised Neverland.
Continuing from the last post, which you can find here, there are more things that feel the same when compared to the TPN. Though chapter 200 was the start of this mini series, not even 3 chapters later in 203 we have MORE information to compare.
Bases of Operation
The bases of operation are so well hidden yet right under everyone’s nose. If it weren’t for Emma and Norman’s realization they were surrounded by a wall with a gate, or if Snake’s snakes didn’t come along to pick up a scent, they would still be well hidden and right under everyone’s nose. But these kids are smart, they know how to look and use the environments around them
Child Preservation (warning, graphic)
203 and the beginning of TPN aren’t fucking around when it comes to child preservation. When Conny was discovered and now in this case, Ginny, both were found in a not so happy place
However, with TPN we know these kids are being plucked to get eaten where as in 203 we still don’t know what is going on. Racks upon racks of human parts are being stored, for what? Are these parts being used to create dolls? Are they being used to replace parts in dolls that already exist-to expand their life force?
Clearly we’ll learn something in Finny’s upcoming backstory and how this method of extracting parts and pieces of young kids for experimentation. Maybe Finny was a rescued Doll experiment?
Mother Is Always Watching
The Maids/Mothers (Isabelle) always seem to know when the kiddos are afoot and in places they shouldn’t be. Maybe my own mother’s saying “I have eyes in the back of my head” are true in them knowing when exactly to show up. They runt he operation as puppets controlled by a higher power. You better watch out!
The Smart and Eldest Child is Next
Much like TPN when the younger dead child get’s found, the next one to go is the smartest, and eldest child. Like its their prime ripe season of child picking. After Conny’s discovery, Norman was to be “adopted” and in this case Theo is to be “fledged”.
The reason in TPN was because Isabelle knew Norman had information. In 203, if mother’s intuition is correct, they probably already suspect that Theo knows more than he should.
My suspicion in Theo’s case is that R!Ciel is starting to whither and needs parts his age to survive.
Hopefully 204 will give us more answers and maybe some more comparisons, but for now, theories are up in the air.
