I took a 2-3 year break from this fandom and recently rejoined it. When I saw that Louis was still the father and that F appeared in his documentary, I started to doubt (don't worry, it lasted 2 seconds lmao).

I thought "if it's still relevant 8 years later, it must be true" (stupid argument honestly).

Then I remembered that I was there for BG and that nothing made sense at all. It was such a shit show. I can see why new larries might believe it if they don't do their research, but larries who were there back then have no excuses. Time passing and a documentary can’t explain what we witnessed 😂

Since we’re sharing theories I wanted to share mine. I think this might be an unpopular opinion but I think Eleanor and bbg are linked in some aspects - since the news about Louis being a dad came out Eleanor was was repeatedly brought up despite her and Louis being broken up and there was that article saying how Louis met up with her in person to tell the news and her being devastated (lmaoo) because she always thought her and Louis would be have kids together. I know Eleanor has not been involved in bbg at all, like at all. No pictures of her with Freddie and Louis unlike with Danielle, in fact when it was known Louis was travelling to LA to be with Freddie Eleanor would make sure to post to show she’s in London or literally anywhere else just not LA. Since she came back in 2017 we have no content of her with Freddie and with the way Louis has talked in interviews it sounded like he split time between Eleanor and Freddie and he didn’t spend time with them together. Also I think bbg was involved in the end of Elounor 🫣 during ltwt whenever Louis had a break from tour he would fly to LA and the only time he went to the uk it was for Glastonbury not for Eleanor lmao. I have no proof of this and nothing to back this up but I think Eleanor doesn’t think Freddie is Louis’ biological son 🧘🏽‍♀️ and I think that might be brought up once bbg ends but I don’t think Eleanor will be directly mentioned. So to summarise I think Elounor ending means bbg is ending sooner rather than later. Alsoo when Freddie came to Doncaster for Christmas in 2021 I told my friend within the next 2 years Elounor is going to be done and I was right lmao so I think with bbg it will end within the next two years as well

There was a moment I thought they were ending both things months apart. An article would appear about Elounor break up with some rumours of ‘Louis is heartbroken since his girlfriend didn’t accept his child and has been telling him to take a pat test, which caused them to break up’ and them the article about bg ending. (I mention articles a lot because famous people use them to announce something/say something without saying it, so a close source is mentioned.)

(implied time skip) scara joins u more often to ur friends outings. one day u straight walk behind the scene n he's confused. u explain normally u help them w makeup etc before gigs. cue a not so obviously jealous scara when you do xiao's eyeshadow.

xiao and scara bonding over their irritation at childe (scara just dislikes the guy, xiao hates that he keeps flrting w his dad/older brother. i ddint decide if zhongli will be a father figure or older brother, leaning towards the latter)

venti organizes a party, scara joining as well. he insists on drinking games, to which everyone ignores until alte hours. u explain to scara thats how it always goes. he makes a comment abt the tense air as u both r in the kitchen preparing drinks, u say "probably because we are the only single people here." it may b at the end of this chapter that u two share a kiss at the end of the night, then fr the followng week, u avoid him

implied more parties/going out. u "crying over" the news of yanfei "the elle woods wannabe???" (venti laughing in th bg: ehehe yeah they were crshing on her hard). going out to a pub w venti hu tao and yanfei, scara goes for a breath of fresh air. as hu tao and yanfei buy drinks, u mumble about wishing a love like theirs, venti says smt along the lines of u already having that and "havent you seen how that puppet looks at you" before u can ask what he meant, scara comes back, swinging an arm over the back of the cushions/ur shoulders, youre tense bc of ventis comment, "hey you alright?" during one of the friend getaways u were leaving in a hurry, refusing to give a clear answer to what it was, scara offered to drive u, u only allowed him til a certain point. kazuha is worried bc u two always shared ur lives w the other. anyways theres nt much of a mystery u are seeing a therapsit but dont wanna explain why u started in the first place, only ningguang knows.

i think another party or beach house type of getaway but w ur friendgroup. esp u and venti get drunk on the night of arrival, waking up w a hangover, meanwhile kazu urges everyone to join him for a morning scretching/sport to freshen. scara rolls his eyes yet is the only one to keep up to kazu, until ur voice draws his attention. "you traitor! i cannot believe you didnt even tell me" snatching a thermos from ventis hands, u start drinking it, kazuha just groans: "mother was right, you are a bad influence" he says abt venti "um excuse me! give credit where its due, he only thought of that bc i yelled it to his face and suggested a good thermos." you say. (unless its clear, the thermos contains of a cold alcoholic drink) scara snatches the thermos from ur hands basically and u have to join the rest w morning jogging. the beachhouse thingy ends w u and scara walking side by side by the shore, u psuhing him tot he water and he grabs ur wrist, pulling u with him. cue simp mode scara pov when u both reemerge and he thinks under the full moonlight youre the mst beaut,ful thing he ever sees.

scara shows up to kazu one day asking advice regarding u, while holding a cat. kazu sighs, seeing scara wont leave, he opens the door n lets him in. some muttering abt how he's awful if he is trying to learn abt u to change how he acts bc a relationship based on a faked identity is no-no then he mumbles "well lucky for you you dont need to o much as their type seems to include [idr what exact phrase i had for this srry but he was basically insulting scara]", then beaten to curiosity, kazu asks whats up w the cat and scara holds the cat out to kazu "dont you think it looks like him (tomo)" (the cat is sand colored) "it followed me all the way to ur place"

some event for children of big names, for the first time (in years?) you and kazu will attend. scara is basically ur partner for it. at the beginning u push away the wine served (catered by dawn winery) (again a line i dont rmr but u insult the wine, claiming dandelion wine isnt even real wine or smt??) at one point interviwerers snatch u and scara away separetely, u get away a lot sooner, as u wait by the window, u can see the reflection of red hair, turning your back, u walk to his direction (away) and whisper "i hope you have found the closure you were desperately looking for" before diluc can say a thing, scara shows up w a hand on your waist "darling, there you are. what a bore it is here, why dont we go to that place you've been wanting to check out?" idk probs gonna spend the night w scara and sleep tgt, he gets... lowkeyish possesive during it lol... (just basking in the knowledge that he has u more than the other 'sore losers' ever did? or smt like that. idk could make more sense if in ur past 'relationship' w diluc u both always used a condom type of protection while w scara its penetrative sex basically.)

"who goes around calling people 'that' huh) scara rant goes on abt how he had to go fall for both perfect siblings "wow what a joke huh" and a little "i dont even get why im like this nowadays. idek why i rushed that way to get those notes and drove at 200kph to get back to the library for u" (basically drunk scara more or less jealous of u and kazu, emotional management problems, problems of realizing he has emotions, also it clicks to u that the guy kazu hated in his hs is scara)

scara wakes up to an empty bed, unable to contact u. it was at the end of the term so any excuse he uses to see u, they fail. rumors of u joiing ning for an internship, he tries to see u, only to be met w security. My last hot takes:

- this I believe is a similar opinion to what an anon said but I believe the Kpop industry is over saturated. There are sooooo many groups, and while I do believe some of these groups are good, and serve up something different than the standard Kpop sound, there are just so many kind of doing the same thing but not as good. A few sub points off of this:

A lot of groups that have debuted over the past couple of years need more training and their company pushed them to debut too soon. Many companies focus too much on the business side and not the music.

Idols are debuting too young. Just because we’ve had young idols (like taemin) doesn’t justify debuting someone that young. Especially with them being marketed to women older than them. Like that’s a legit child. The mental health will suffer on top of other things.

Not only is there an over saturation and a lot of too young idols, idols are being debuted without receiving enough training and it shows. Like yeah sometimes an idol has that spark and doesn’t need long to debut, but that is so rare tbh.

Fans of these lesser known groups are kind of toxic. Like all these idols work so hard no matter what group or company they are at but at the end of the day some are truly not good enough to make it. And theses fans of them will literally hype of everything. But the few times I’ve checked out a lesser known group 99.9% of the time they absolutely sucked. And while that may seem harsh. It’s the truth.

- Everyone talks about the “sexual ISAT Jon”(okay I’m leaving that auto correct right there in “” cause wtf was my phone tryna do? Did I really misspell sexualization that bad??) of female idols (and I 100% that they can be and are sexualized though someone of them want to be sexy and they have the right to be. I hate the forced cuteness put on them). But so many overlook the sexualization of male idols. (This isn’t coming from a sole BG stan, I also listen to a lot of GG). And I’m not necessarily talking about the fanfic and smut. Like you can write that without over sexualizing an idol. But some writers, general BG blogs, and “fans” take it so super far. I’ve come across some gross stuff. ALSO the sexualization of these young idols. These 14-18 year olds being done up in a sexy way to please noona fans. Like they are children.

Another also. I find idols to truly be sexy and look good at 24-32 years old and think more idols should debut around the age of 24. I mean to bring some specific ages of men I like, the ages 24, 27, and 29/30 being looking real good.

There are so many new groups I've lost care to track them all. Every time I turn around there's three new groups debuting, and then a few months later they're disbanding bc they're not catching people's attention. Everyone's going for that badass and edgy concept/sound and it's just like the same groups debuting over and over again.

Also, idols are debuting way to young now!! Taemin was already too young when he debuted and now they're like "he's only three years younger than Taemin"... excuse??? Get that child into school or something, my god.

sam rewatches shadowhunters 2022, 1.02 the descent into hell isn't wasy

“clary is there a war going on that i don’t know about?” “there is now” makes me think about how this situation is actually pretty new for this younger generation of shadowhuners. and just a few mins in the show goes out of its way to highlight how censored knowledge of the revolt and the circle is. yes they face demons everyday but they only have a vague understanding of their sordid history re: the uprising. so like, as many mistakes as they make, they’re making them not only bc they’re flawed (though that too obviously), but bc this is new territory. that’s not to excuse any of the shitty things alec, jace, and izzy might do down the line, bc everyone does shitty things and it’s important they be acknowledged, but to say - knowing this lends some sympathy to the lightwoods. (and yes jace is included in this. jace is a lightwood. i have an agenda.) (i use a jace wayland tag bc no one ever really calls him jace lightwood in the show but still. i digress) anyways i’m willing to have some sympathy bc of this, but not excuse what shouldn’t be excused. also it’s a damning critique of the us education system LMAO

i know they make a point of acknowledging it later, but clary’s just wayyyy too okay with all of this. she got to have exactly one (1) breakdown and now she’s totally on board with the very nature of the reality she lives in shifting. meanwhile i would still be processing DEMONS??? with simon lmao

i always get frustrated when a show isn’t clear about whether a character knows about their best friend’s crush on them or not. like if they don’t that makes sense if they do that makes sense just pick one or the other? the awkward glance between her and simon and her gently correcting that they’re best friends makes it seem like she at least has an inkling?? and then other times she just seems completely clueless abt it.

lmao i love how for these first few episodes, most of what alec does is just stand quietly in the bg and then make snarky comments. also it’s very subtle bc he could not be Less in the foreground if he tried (almost like... they’re doing camerawork to set up part of his character... inchresting) but he smiles when jace makes fun of izzy���s cooking and as izzy is introducing herself/kinda toying with simon and it’s just a real cute little background detail like. he loves them both a lot. 

he’s still being kinda snarky but jace warning simon not to eat izzy’s food is kinda nice considering we learn pretty quickly that it is legitimately that bad. although i’m also wondering if it’s supposed to a very brief shovel talk wrapped up in a weird metaphor? bc like, he shows concern/annoyance when simon shows an interest in izzy, so maybe it’s not that nice lmao, idk

yk, luke being so desensitized to killing a member of the circle could actually make sense, bc he’s had to do it before probably. but it also highlights how the same shouldn’t be true for the lightwood trio. the ease with which they killed the circle members last ep and will continue to do feels jarring, makes it seem like they’re more used to it than they actually are. i mostly see it as a failing in the writing - this show chooses weird emotional and moral stakes to focus in on or ignore at times - but i guess it could also hint at the way shadowhutners as raised as child soldiers and that desensitizing them to violence in general - something that is ALSO woefully underexplored even though it would’ve been a really interesting commentary on cycles of trauma.

okay i’ve always thought jace is a little too okay with allowing hodge to be tortured by his rune to get information and like. he is? but he’s also holding himself back from feeling about it, there are a few twitches that i used to read as anger that now make a lot more sense of recontextualized as feeling bad about hodge but believing what they’re doing is necessary. and he doooes go to catch hodge... only to say “we don’t have a choice, you understand that right hodge” and like. this so shakily walks the line between a well-meaning ends justifying the means mentality and emotional manipulation. for all jace’s rule breaking and bravdo, he’s still a student of the clave.

“dot... you can’t trust anybody” “you’re absolutely right” :( not much to say here, but i’m having a lot of dot feelings this rewatch. and these events breeding distrust even amongst two representatives from diff factions of the downworld is interesting and will continue to be relevant

“it’s not good for any of us” something i do like about izzy is at a certain point, she does know when the jokes stop. she’s a fun loving playful person by nature but when asked by simon the nature of the threat to clary - and all of them - are facing you suddenly understand how scared everyone should be. bc izzy is terrified. just hiding it well. (i think izzy and magnus have a lot in common just fyi)

honestly clary’s interest in jace has a lot less meaning behind it, at least as far as i can tell, than his with her. like, she’s just plainly attracted to him. and that’s fine! it’s honestly a healthier starting point than where he’s coming from. but given the stakes they’re currently facing, it seems weird for that to be any degree of a priority for her when i don’t really see the emotions there yet.

the way izzy touches clary’s hair? is gay as hell. we love to see it. (i can actually really easily see them going for a sapphic storyline for izzy, and i can even see a way for it to make narrative sense and not pull away from alec’s own coming out narrative. the caveat is that in this magical au in my head, it wouldn’t really work until s3, but there would obvs be signs before that)

“actual demons with tentacles that wanna murder us” “one google search away!” clary and simon are a golden comedic duo

jace batting izzy’s hand away while she’s touching the weapons and going “no, izzy” like... it’s interesting that they’re often seen as partners in crime against alec’s Only Sane Man archetype, but i do think jace sees it more as a tactic and izzy kinda just likes chaos jdjhdhshs. i might change my mind about this later bc the show goes back and forth a lot on who has the braincell between him and izzy.

“the little girl” alec stop that’s sexist. like it is more about how she’s a baby fledgling shadowhunter that’s gonna get them all killed and/or in trouble with the clave (which is not a position you wanna find yourself in) which is a reasonable concern, but don’t frame it misogynistic language, okay alec?? okay??

pragmatic as he’s being, magnus is still helping as many of his fellow warlocks as he can and offers the same protection to dot. like... i love him.

i love dot too though and like :(( she’s trying her best!! to not die and also protect clary!!

i usually like how in-sync alecnizzy are with each other but they’re simultaneous “absolutely not” / “don’t even” is a bit stilted. but i do like jace’s slight amusement at how quickly they both understood what he was saying and them both being #concerned and in sync about it

the rotating circle effect is fun, i will admit

so is izzy grabbing simon’s arm to hold, though i think it’s less flirtation and more her wanting to keep him in-reach for the sake of protecting him

“if something happens to her, that’s on us, you know that don’t you?” ugh alec is so interesting and i’m gonna get progressively more annoyed as the season presents his very valid concerns as just jealousy or pettiness. like, snarking aside, alec doesn’t trust clary or know what to make of her, but he doesn’t want her to DIE. their whole thing is protecting people. and aside from that, if she dies - it will be their fault in the clave’s eyes bc it seems that they’re not supposed to have taken her to the silent brothers without seeking an audience officially. alec’s insistence on following the clave’s rules is partly loyalty to the clave bc of the way he was raised, partly because logic, structure, and rules make sense to him and are part of what has kept him alive so far, and partly bc - the clave is rigid and unforgiving. alec knows this and doesn’t want their family to give them an ammunition that could be used against them. which is. unfortunate and we will literally see that he's right about where the blame will lie later on.

i also like how many small alec and simon parallels we get. “we don’t even know these people,” simon says to clary. and like! yeah! and you’ve both got valid concerns! but, yk... plot!

also clary’s insistence that she felt something was missing from her life has never really resonated. i think if they were going to go that route, they needed to establish it more in the first ep, with more time being focused on her being a fish out of water in her own life and the plot heavy stuff only coming in at the beginning in the flashforward and at the very end. yes, evidently a lot of these rewatch notes are just going to be me rewriting and restructuring the show

dot being captured by valentine and forced to take his injections. ugh. never going to be over how brutally she was treated and little the writers seemed to care about her character.

alec does has have legitimately concerns lafter the clary revealbut aside from expressing them too brusquely, it's also just not a good idea to reveal that distrust in front of her? speaks to alec's like of guile

this scene with simon being kidnapped and he and clary screaming for each other works a lot better than the scene last ep with clary and jocelyn screaming for each other as she sends clary through a portal. like this is still melodramtic but less forced somehow.

i get that izzy probably thought he would get in the way or distract her but. i think it would've made a lot more sense to keep simon with her when she was checking on that noise

anyway so far these eps are really fast paced is what i'm noticing. i think it works a bit better here than ep 1 bc it felt like a lot happened to move the story along, but i still think they should find some time to slow down and do some more intricate world building...

-also, not to feel bad for alternate vlad (because, he did lie to maddie saying jack blames her and never wants to see her again...) but. being married to a woman 20+ years and she immediately goes back to jack? if she didnt love vlad and feels like she had to hide shit from him, and says she wasted her best years with him, WHY MARRY HIM. it feels like leading him on!!! cannot believe im feeling bad for vlad, but. this alternate timeline vlad is significantly Less Horrible than Our Vlad. did she not think she'd get funding for her ghost stuff? (which, fair assumption since they're considered 'ghost fanatics/nuts in canon...but...) why did she think jack or vlad would be her ONLY OPTIONS? be like your sister. be single. Actually, this au could’ve been really interesting if after the accident, vlad lied to her and said jack never wanted to see her again, but she stays single. Imagine how much that would bug vlad… like, in her mind, it was never a competition it was jack or no one type situation…

More modern/human au stuff for the niche audience of 2 people who will enjoy it

- Grimm’s a total cityslicker lmao. He’s lived all his life in a dense urban area and tbh? He lives for it. The idea of traveling is nice and he does enjoy it but it’s hard to sleep without the constant drawl of urban life in the bg

- I kinda imagine he grew up in NYC/whatever equivalent. Gave him both thick skin and people skills. Also, he was never bored and always had people to meet and places to explore. It’s a constant source of inspiration for him! Diverse people and food, street performers, local theaters, maybe even a local campus bringing in new folk. He lives on that buzz.

- PK and WL both come from old money. They are well off and fine and probably could’ve never worked and been fine. PK took his money, moved a decent bit away, and wanted to do smth so it’s be his name on it, not the family. Wanted to challenge and prove himself. (Not that I have any idea what his or her job actually is lmao)

- PK and WL have old school manners drilled into them and their kids. Pk always gets the door and chair for her, kids always say yes or no ma’am/sir to every adult, etc etc.

- I’ve decided the kids the royal couple has are Hollow, Ghost, (those two are twins) then Lost Kin, and then greenpath vessel later. (I know there’s the three in the nosk den but in a human au it gets harder to place them on a timeline with a family that big. Maybe I’ll revisit it but doubt it)

- I’ve played with idea of maybe the later one or two siblings being born after Hornet. But I don’t think I’ll go that route.

- All four kids would throw hands at an instant for Hornet. Even if they’re typically chill and passive. Not that she needs the help but yknow, it’s the though that counts.

- PK, WL, and the kids live pretty privileged and in a really big and nice home. Decent amount of land on it too. Beautiful home. Mama Root is in charge of the land, she does most of the flowerbed planning and planting. Does all the greenhouse work, and often brings the kids along to help.
