They’ve shared a bed before. Eddie tries not to think about how it feels so different this time – the first time since he's realized what Buck means to him – because nothing’s really changed. Right? They lie there still for a little too long, bodies a carefully measured few inches apart. Eddie reaches for something to say, but he can’t find a thing, so he simply rolls over and turns off the lamp. The silence isn't uncomfortable, because nothing ever is with Buck, it’s just – uncharacteristic. Of Buck, especially. It’s not unlike Eddie to go quiet and retreat into his head when he drinks but drunk Buck? He would usually be rambling non-stop about medieval wine-making processes or something right about now. As if summoned from Eddie’s overthinking, Buck clears his throat, breaking the silence as easily as he broke down Eddie’s door all those months ago.  “Night, Eddie.” “Night, Buck.” Eddie whispers into the darkness. He listens to Buck’s breathing even out, feels his own eyelids get heavy. And maybe it's the lingering tequila in his blood, or maybe it’s the exhaustion tearing down all his walls of shoulds and shouldn'ts. Either way, he barely even thinks. He just rolls over and drapes a heavy arm across Buck's waist, like it’s muscle memory. The front of his knees press into the back of Buck's, and his nose brushes against the soft skin of his neck. Buck sighs and practically melts in his arms, and before he knows it, Eddie’s falling asleep faster than he has in years.

#23.2 Teases

Dan sighed wistfully. He couldn't help but feel jealous as he witnessed the couple kissing.

It must be great to be Grace. He was attractive, rich, powerful, talented, and respected. He had everything every person in the tower could ever wish to have. So it should come as no surprise that even Princess Endorsi would want him.

But despite all that, Dan didn’t want to be in Grace's shoes. Power and fame came with a price, and he knew how hard Grace had to work for it.

Maybe he wasn't actually jealous of Grace's charm. He was just not willing to let his goddess, Princess Endorsi, pick anyone else as her partner.

Dan let the realization sink in, sulking while chewing on another spoonful of meat curry. Gyetang must've felt even sadder than him, considering that his reason to join their team was to meet Princess Endorsi.

"What happened?" the guy in a tracksuit –Sibisu, if he remembered correctly– asked, as he and the others took a seat.

"Princess…" Hatz trailed off. "She used her tag to 'talk' with Grace. And when they returned, Grace had a kiss mark on his cheek."

That was a surprisingly objective summary.

"You know, I realized something after kissing him." Boss commented. He was looking at Princess Endorsi mirthfully. "The kiss mark on his cheek earlier was tilted in an odd way."

Princess Endorsi raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

Boss waited a few beats. Then he shrugged. "Never mind. I was simply sharing my thoughts."

Princess Endorsi gave him a long stare, before her eyes lit up in realization. She chuckled, "How observant."

Dan could only sit there. At least he wasn't the only one that was confused. After all, he didn't really pay attention to the mark position before Grace wiped it out, so he didn't know what kind of odd that Boss meant.

"Woah! Bam–"

The Khun guy whisper-shouted, loud enough to pull Dan out of his thoughts.

"–You learned how to use chopsticks?" 

Khun looked pleasantly surprised, and it kind of baffled Dan. He didn't think anyone, especially from the Khun family, could be impressed by such a mere act.

Viole grinned sheepishly. "Yeah. I've wanted to learn it ever since you showed me how."

The smile that crept up on Khun's lips was genuine and fond. It was a familiar expression, one that Dan often saw Boss wearing when he looked at Grace.

He noticed that everyone was also looking at Khun and Viole, as the conversation around died down. Hatsu coughed, and Princess Endorsi rolled her eyes.

Khun, noticing this, glared at everyone. "What?"

Sibisu waved his hand dismissively, grinning. The others avoided eye contact.

Grace smiled as he glanced at Boss…expectantly? Teasingly? Dan couldn't tell.

Boss glanced back at Grace, smirking.

Grace chuckled, as if they were gossiping telepathically.

They did that enough times that Dan had gotten used to it. Exchanging looks without words as if they could read each other's minds. And honestly, Dan wouldn't even be surprised if they revealed that they actually had a telepathic ability.

Khun was now frowning. Dan could imagine two cat ears on his head pointing backwards. "Are you making fun of me?"

Grace quickly waved his hands in front of him. "What? No! I would never."

Boss laughed at Khun, as if daring him. "You are so obvious, it's embarrassing."

Novick coughed, trying to hide his laugh. "It somehow reminded me of that one time Grace tried to make a perfect apple pie, and we ended up having a week’s worth of pies. All because he wanted to impress Boss."

"The pie was delicious. I was impressed." Boss nodded approvingly.

Grace closed his eyes, smiling proudly. "Worth it."

Oh, the lovebirds, Dan thought to himself. Khun must've reminded Boss of himself, which was probably what he and Grace were making fun of earlier.

Princess Anaak raised her hand, palm facing Boss and Grace. "Please don't kiss again. I'm trying to eat."

Dan heard Viole whisper to Khun. "So that's what a kiss is…?" Which was just another whiplash to him.

The more he learned about Viole, the less he fit a slayer candidate's fearsome and mysterious persona. FUG's god, as they called him. He was still a kid at heart, clueless and learning.

"What's up, Blue Turtle? Did you finally find your banana?"

Khun whipped his head, and Dan noticed a light blush on his cheeks. "What does that even mean?! Stupid crocodile."

"I wonder who's actually the stupid one," Hatz shrugged.

Khun growled, took a deep breath, and sighed. "Let's just ignore them, Bam."

It seemed like Khun was used to being antagonized by his own team. But Dan thought that he might understand why.

The strong temptation to tease and nudge the lovebirds, especially when they were so obvious yet clueless. Case in point: Grace and Agni, when Dan was new to their team. He couldn't keep himself from smiling at the memory.

He enjoyed Grace's old team’s company so far. He used every opportunity to join the conversation, especially when everyone started bickering and exchanging stories. The cafeteria had never been so lively before with only the five of them.

The chaotic energy that Grace's old team brought was like adding new flavors into the mix. Only time could tell whether it was a good combination or not, but he hoped that they'd get along. Especially because it would be a lifelong regret if he were to lose the chance to have Princess Endorsi around.

thinking about just how sudden and cruel Jessamine's assassination was. Corvo and Emily suddenly ripped out of their regular lives.

Corvo has only just returned after months of being separated from his family. he only stepped off the ship, barely made it to the Tower, didn't even walk through the front door before he watched Jessamine be murdered. his luggage was probably still on the ship, all his dirty clothes, warm coats for Tyvia and light silks for Sekonos, his journal and maybe a spare weapon, the nice coat for when he is meeting up with the rulers of the different isles. the little gifts he most likely collected through his travels across the Empire, for Jessamine and for Emily and maybe some members of the Tower staff that he is fond of. did he bring back candy he loved as a child so that Emily could finally try them? where did his personal correspondence go?

what about Emily? she was taken and kept locked up in the Golden Cat, and we hear her mention her doll, but what other things were left behind? her favourite cup, the plants at her windowsill? her collection of drawings, and the notebooks she kept for her lessons, paints and music instruments that she was learning to play as every proper lady should? where are her favourite fairytale books now? her wardrobe, her favourite shoes, the little hair ornaments Jessamine would tuck into her hair for all the parties and balls?

and what of Jessamine? with no family to set away memorabilia, sort through her things, her diaries and notes and letters that were waiting for an answer? the private ones, that she kept hidden away so no one could read them but her? did she have a favourite tea blend that now sits abandoned in the Tower kitchens?

we do not see their rooms, once we return to the Tower to take out Burrows. it is almost like the royal family never existed, and I must wonder: what happened with what remained behind of their lives, after Jessamine died?

do you have any tips for an artist that wants to draw comics?

I honestly still dont see myself as a comic artist, anon, but what i do know is that the hardest part is starting one.

When you're new to it, you gotta learn how to make it easier for yourself because if you're aim is to make a fully colored 20+ pages comic, you will burn yourself out before you finish a single page.

Dont put too much expectations on yourself. Let it be your aim to finish it rather than perfect it. Once you finish it, don't dwell too much into it. Don't let engagements be the measure of its value. The best part of finishing something is looking back on them and learning what you can do better next time.

When you're new, you're also building your stamina in the process and when you understand how much you can do in a certain time, you will learn how to pace yourself better. For ex. In my earlier comics, like my abandoned zelda AU, i didn't really put much thought in the specs and dimension of my comics. I didnt even draw it well lol. I limit working on every entry under 2 to 4 days and that includes the writing. I spent less time on it and it shows! Compare that to my splatoon comics, they're more organized and put together in comparison. This is because I saw what I can do before, I learned what I can do better and it made me put more time into them. I don't really wanna rush myself as much as possible because i dont really earn from this rn lol but most of my entries lately takes 1 month to draw with drafts Ive written 3 months earlier. I work very slow but more robust than before because of all the stamina I accumulated with other finished work :)

"Out of Spite" The Nine Sols AU TEDtalk time. The Path of Trials, part 1

What I didin't talk about in this is the redemption arc. All of saved Sols need to let go of the things that chain them. Their biggest fear and flaw. Their sin.

They need to start changing.

Lets say they need to go throgh trial. So, what trial it would be for them?

1. Goumang - "Trial of Control"

I think we all came to consensuss in fandom that Goumang have some control issue. As someone who have similar control tendencies I might guess that it came from her turbulent childhood. She so obsessed with control because she can't afford mistakes. Why she can't afford mistakes? Mistakes lead to bleak future. And future is a chaos. Always a chaos. Life is a big game of dice, but as many people who lived in conditions they cannot change she started to try and control everything she does. Beliving this is the way to secure her future survival.

Unfortunately, even when kids like this starting to live normal live, when the chaos in their life becomes more tame, they are unable to let control loose. Being talanted agronomist led Goumang to Tiandao Council. To securing her future. Future of her people.

I belive her control issue manifest in her not just keeping things in check and near her, but, ironicly in equality. You get what you give. Stable equality in relationships and live lead to sense of security.

She needs to let go the control in her live. She need to accept that reality as it is - solarians can't be saved. Her boys...can not be save. This island of stability is ended long time ago and can't be brought back.

Goumang need to understand that even when this period ends that is NOT meaning the next will be worse. Yes, it is unpredictable as most of the life. Isn't it why life is so beautiful, tho?

Vital interaction with Yi: When she first was brought to pavilion she is scared. Why he's changed his mind? Will Yi torture her further? Use her as somewhat of a lab mouse to experement on? She's shaking everytime Yi storm out angry of the Abacus room, where Jiequan held. Everytime she sees him she's afraid he will change his mind again. So, she starts to "become useful" offering help to Yi. Tho throughout the story she is very resnetful towards Yi and they more bickering then talking. Still, they care for each other in their own way. The important breakpoint for them comes near the end of the game. Oooh, it's a big argument about tianhuo and cure for it.

Yi tells her the truth: There is no cure. Eigong is the one who developed tianhuo virus. Goumang is...upset, to say the least. She starts to question her view on time spent in tiandao council. What she once considered the time of peace and stability in her life turned out to be the nightmare. Only this time it seems there is no way to make things work. There is nothing left to secure. They all are doing to die, sooner or later.

Vital interaction with ShuanShuan: After Kuafu he is the second person she starts to open up to. At first she sees in him her boys. ShuanShuan is deligent and hard-working kid, trying his best. Yet, he's... not that caring about result. Unlike Goumang, he just tries again and again until things work right. Kid don't care about mistakes he's just...having fun. Living in the momentum and not caring about what's next. ShuanShuan just enjoying every time he sees Yi and Goumang. He help Goumang understand that she could try to ease her hold on what she doing, because there is no danger for her in pavilion. And she can be loved despite of her "being useful" to someone.

She would help boy to learn agroculture! Through her time with ShuanShuan she learn again to have fun. This leads to her modifying and developing her own talisman technic. Healing talisman!

2. Nuwa - "Trial of Independence"

Nuwa always was the second. For many she seemed like a little brat with too much of free time. In fact, I think she didn't even had a chance to participate in clan's affairs. Fuxi was always ment to be a leader, but, it kinda looked like he doesn't want to. So Nuwa decided to pursue acting career. Her and Fuxi were always toghether. I think Fuxi was the fist who make her intrested in theahter in a first place. I think with Fuxi Nuwa felt...saved and loved. She felt needed.

And when Fuxi fell ill well... it likes her world is crumbled. Now she has to rule the clan. She didn't want this responsibility, she just wanted things to go back how they used to be. No tianhuo. No Ethernal Cauldron. Just them, toghether, putting another play. Living their best life.

And while Fuxi is ill he still was there. Even when he can't talk anymore Nuwa thought she understood him better than anyone.

Now Fuxi is gone. Forever. Nuwa is alone in this big and scary world, full of mutants and death.

And she needs to learn to care for herself and become a proper adult. She need to decides what she actually want to do with her live. Build connections. Take responsibility for herself and her actions.

Because, she need to accept the harsh reality of Fuxi being dead long time ago, even before their fight with Yi started.

Vital interaction with Yi: At first Nuwa would try to cling to anybody for protection and affection. Try to mimic them. To Yi, To Kuafu, To Goumang and even to Jiequan. She would defenetly try to shake her responsibility of when she is comfortable enough in pavilion. Blaming everyone and especially Yi for taking away her brother. She can't party anymore so she starts drinking. with Yi.

One faithful night she and Yi drinking. They start talking about siblings and what it is like to have one. Laughing and remembering past. Then, Yi stops and says, that he misses Heng. And, actually, this is why he saved Nuwa. Because this is what any older brother want - for his little sister to be save. And to grow up, become a better person than him. I think Yi would say some shit like "Me and Fuxi are not the best example of a person" and RUIN THE MOMENT COMPLITLY. What he was trying to say that Nuwa has a potential to become a better person.

Vital interaction with ShuanShuan: I think, since the dialogue with Yi, Nuwa and ShuanShuan have a little rivalry because no matter of Yis words she kinda grew attached to the guy. It's UNTIL the day she hears ShuanShuan playing flute. This is the moment because NOW Nuwa will infodump to him about art and they will even play toghether sometimes!!! Nuwa is a kind of a kid herself, so ShuanShuan is happy there is a someone he can play with and who IS enjoying and encouraging him to further persuit art! Nuwa will become his older sister and THAT is a point where she starts to actually care for someone, like she cared for Fuxi. I think, one day she understands that if she is actually capable of caring for others, thus she is capable to care for herself. And first step she needs to do is accept responsibility for her own life and decisions. It's up to Nuwa - to be an actress or to be the leader of the Feng clan.

Eventually Nuwa will modify her flute to some kind of weapon. Manipulating and controling her enemies, making them dance to the melody of her flute. Kuafu helped with modifications ofc (and only after she said she would not point out his weight anymore)

Nuwa is also..not much of a helper to Yi. She often just brings decorations to the pavilion or helps to preoccupy ShuanShuan when the gang discussing plans. Tho, when time passes I think she's too start to participate in strategic meetings.

Still Nuwa is not a fighter. Like ShuanShuan she just needs a mean to defened herself when the time comes.

2016 VS 2024

I drew the first one in 7th grade after I read the outsiders for the first time, I was probably around 14 and I'm pretty sure the pose is super traced from a base I found online. Im 22 now but I just got back into the outsiders from the musical coming out and, i still love it. I drew another picture of Johnny and Dallas that I ended up showing my friends, along with the drawing from 2016, and one of them said I should full recreate it. So i did. I made the pose on Magic poser cause I wanted it to be as similar to the other drawing as possible, but made using different techniques. The one on the left is colored pencil and probably g-2 pen, and the one on the right is watercolor and waterproof fine liner. Dally's hair is literally the exact same, which I think is a little funny. I'm seeing the musical this summer with my two best friends and I am beyond excited

This is gonna be a mish mash of cultures and ideas so bare with me. In eastern Europe (specificly slavic countrys) the vampire was an almost ghostly spirit rather than our common undead sexy friend. They were trixters to some extent, spread disease but in the way rats do rather than the specific bite we know. They also didn't consume blood. So this is the technical truth aspect of this idk 'theory' (but more headcannon I suppose). From this, I headcannon, it evolved into two specific paths: the vampire as we know and the seer. Both evolved to revolve around blood since blood is commonly seen as a holder of the human spirit and life force making it a very powerful energy source. Vampires evolved specifically as almost undead creatures, focusing on that ghostly aspect and almost making the souls haunt the dead body in such a way that it becomes 'imortal'. The sucking of blood is to create a constant source of energy to power the 'possession' and inturn their existence- like food for us. The 'infectious bite' then becomes a combination of corpse germs and supernatual infliction that continues to create vampires- something their ancestor obviously did not have due to the lack of biting and corperal form. on the otherhand, seers found their powersource in blood by creating their own. Specifically in having a functioning human body. The living body acts as a conduit for the supernatural power wich is displayed by divination and prophecy, what which ghosts being conected to the past and human life being seen as something of the future. This ghostly ancestor also explains why Ethan can see ghosts when touching their objects, he's channeling that energy. Of course if having a living body was such an easy way to have blood the vampire would have done it too, the problem with using your own body as a conduit continuously is that it starts to degrade over time either with natural circumstance like being old as shit and dying, or your body contracting ilnesses. It's has it's ups and downs. anyway the idea of a common ancestor is so intresting to me, especially since in the few mythologys I research prophecy and disease are strangely commonly linked. And I mean blood has ALWAYS been apart of seeing the future, think of literally any form of animal sacrifice amongst religions. Or how in some underworld storys the souls must consume the blood of a sacrifice (not necessarily human!) to be able to comunicate.
