Fairy Tail: 100-nen Quest; Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest - Episode 23

Who wants a high quality version of the Exceed logo from the latest iteration of the Pokémon Anime ? Its newest episodes inspired me to try my hand at recreating it. Added my versions of the Rising Volteccers and Explorers logos as well to complete the set, even though I already posted those before.

Lector the Forgotten Exceed

The Fairy Tail Exceeds have been around since episode one and chapter one with plenty of details being added along the way and more of them being introduced. You have Happy the playful fish eating blue cat, Carla the more serious big sister white cat, Pantherlily the more mature and strong black cat (panther), Frosch the little frog suit wearing and often lost green cat, and Lector... the buddy of Sting.

Maybe I don't give Lector enough credit. I mean, he does have one of the best dynamics with Sting and their bond really showing through during the Grand Magic Games arc. He always talks about Sting and basically is a free ego booster and cheerleader. Also the scenes when he tries to protect Frosch are so precious.

But when you compare him to the other exceeds, its no wonder he isn't talked about more or even has a fanbase. Happy and Frosch are usually liked for their comedic personalities or just being downright adorable. Pantherlily has his bond with Gajeel and his willingness to do what is right and using his strength to push that ideal forward. Carla I'm sure probably doesn't have that many fans... but she at least has screentime to make up for it with an amazing moment between her and Wendy.

Lector's characterization mainly comes from Sting, but apart from that he is just a cat. He has the mixed personalities like some of the characters I suppose you could say. He tries to be a leader like Carla, brave like Pantherlily, boost Sting up similar to Happy, and well he is buddies with Frosch so I guess thats as close to Frosch's personality as you can get.

All that aside it would be nice to get a sweet character moment out of him once again like during the Grand Magic Games. With the way 100 yq is going honestly al things are possible as we do keep getting random tangents here and there such as the Cobra and Ichiya chapters. Maybe someday him and Frosch will go on a little adventure and we can see more about him. Even a scene with Happy would be nice since we haven't gotten anything other than his little crush on Carla. What do you all think of Lector though? Maybe he is one of your favorite cats? I just don't see enough attention on him I feel.

Do you think you could come up with some headcanons for Happy, Marl and Lucky post-Edolas arc? I haven’t seen a single piece of fanon work for them and it’s a shame because Fly to Your Friends! was one of my favourite episodes in that arc, and I always thought that little family should’ve deserved more screen time.

Happy visits them frequently. They still believe he doesn't know who they are, but Happy has known the whole time

It was really important to Happy that they meet Natsu too (it went better than expected but Natsu did get yelled at several times)

Marl insists that they celebrate the day Happy reunited with them every year

Thanks to Lucky, Happy has become quite the farmer (a hobby that has taken over his home with Natsu)

Lucky does not like the Fairy Tail guild. He always yells that its too loud (Marl doesn't mind the guildhall)

Marl is always pestering Happy about when Happy and Carla are gonna get together (She adores Carla and has begun meddling)

They sat Happy down years into him regularly visiting and told him they were his parents. Happy pretended to be shocked but they quickly figured out that he already knew

Lucky has grounded Happy. Happy was convinced the punishment wouldn't last since he doesn't live with them, but Natsu took Lucky's side

Marl and Lucky take the time to teach Happy everything they know about exceed culture. Happy really enjoys learning about what his life would've been like

Happy has his own room in their house. Lucky insists that it's just a guest room, but Marl has it decorated specifically based on Happy's interests and taste

Happy does stay over there from time to time. He tries not to stay too long, not wanting to be a bother but his parents usually make up some excuse for him to stay longer

I'm still upset about the premise of the Fairy Tail 100 year quest so I'm strategizing about it

After everything they've been through, specifically with a Certain Dragon, you would THINK Freid/Fried/Freed Justine would write an enchantment to protect the guild regarding this but he didn't SO this is what I propose he should've done with the advice of Mavis' strategic mind (after the final battle ofc. Like how she had the final post-mortem spell on makarov, Justine should've been inexplicably compelled to do something like this)

Spoilers for 100 year quest

There should be an established enchantment called Protection Of The Trickster or something. When conditions of the enchantment are met, the S-class wizard most equipped to handle the situation (in proximity of the guild) is automatically made aware of the subject of suspicion and why it is there. This person will be imbued with the 'spirit of the trickster' and will be unusually charismatic and convincing to the person of interest which subtly clues the other wizards in that something's wrong and to go along with the situation until they can freely discuss.

Items related to Acnologia: if items containing magic from or related to Acnologia cross onto guild territory, the item will be disarmed/stabilized/made safe and relocated into the inventory of the Trickster. An illusion will be cast simultaneously on the person of suspect so they do not detect the shift in magic energy. The Trickster's entire goal is to dodge suspicion of the person and safely discuss what to do with the item (dispose of it, utilize it, etc). If the person of question becomes hostile, they will be rendered immobile/turned to stone/otherwise neutralized until the situation can be safely handled.

Mole: if someone crosses onto guild territory with explicit intent to infiltrate and harm the guild, the suspect will be enchanted to be unable to use their magic on anyone in the guild. The Trickster will automatically steer them somewhere else in the guild hall where they can be handled appropriately. When asked, the subject will be compelled to say exactly why they are there. If they are under disguise, they will appear as a to-scale version of how they actually look. Should the subject become hostile, they will be rendered unconscious and dealt with appropriately.

Which is to say TOUKA SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO JUST WALTZ INTO THE GUILD AND BRING AROUND ACNOLOGIA PLOT LINE ROUND 2 BECAUSE A TRANS-SPECIES DRAGON GOT BORED AND I'M UPSET ABOUT IT

Selfcest in Fairy Tail is a real funny thing, because there are so many possibilities. We have our normal world, then we have Edolas, and then we have the acting guild! There's a 90% chance that there are at least two versions of your favorite Fairy Tail character!! And their interactions are so fun too, my favorite one is def Gajeel and Edolas Gajeel, because they are so different but get along so well

I was super nervous about posting these before making the actual things but I thought that posting the designs I've made might help me get out of art paralysis because people will see it and my brain will get the attention it wants so i can convince it it'll get more if it'll just let me do my work! Anyway, the wings for the happy jacket aren't the same as the ones I brought but everything else will look the same.
