Temeraire body horror magic AU you say? 👀👀👀

oooh that one's fun 😆 it sort of grew out of the whole thing where the corps keeps a lot of secrets, some of them more guarded than others. I was wanting to do some magic stuff anyway and was like, what if there was something else thats both extra secret and another reason that aviators don't mix with polite society.

this is also one of the ideas on the list that I actually managed to write a tiny bit for:

"Pray," Laurence said, faltering. He mastered himself and finished in a sharper tone than was appropriate, "explain your meaning." Harcourt and Berkley both blinked at him in silence a moment before Harcourt exclaimed, "Oh, I knew we'd forgotten something!" Having posed the question once, Laurence couldn't very well demand answers again, but luckily Berkley had mercy. Sounding a little strange, he said, "See, having a beast...it rather changes a fellow. More than ah, having a boat in the navy might." Seeing the look on Laurence's face at his calling ships of the line boats and misreading its cause, Berkley rushed on to say. "Not that promotion in other services don't bring changes, mind, only—" Harcourt came to his rescue. "Only, it's rather more literal, with a dragon." And so saying, she loosened her neckcloth, and entirely insensible to Laurence's startled protest tugged her collar open to show him a neat line of bright orange scales running along her collarbone.

the fridge body horror part is that it's a somewhat unpredictable and progressive condition. Aviators tend to die young so for most captains it's not really a problem to have a patch of scales here and there or a sharp tooth or two. Kind of a badge of honor actually. But ah, aviators who live long enough to retire tend to gain reputations as recluses for...reasons.

there's not a lot going on thats overtly magical outside of that but I've got another idea for an AU thats like, "magic is a Known Thing thats illegal for most people but the corps has a dispensation since dragons won't hatch without a sufficient quantity of magic around and the options are either let a bunch of other dragons take the eggs to magical locations (not so great for being able to harness the hatchling) or let the potential captains dabble in magic." That AU may fizzle out or combine with this one or split off into its own thing, I haven't decided yet.

(mgv) house and wilson display courting behaviors and don't even realize it. granted, courting in that sense is out of style and traditionalist so even if they did believe they were doing it, they'd wrinkle their noses (house especially). but like.... house buying them expensive tickets to a thing is an opportunity to grow closer, wilson letting his food get stolen isn't just a show of patience but proof he can be a good provider, etc etc. the amount of times they get mistaken for a couple in omegaverse is, in turn, much greater than it already is in canon

okay so moth asked about breaking dawn werewolf sizes, and so here's a brief explanation as best as i can manage:

The orange wolf represents a dire wolf, or Aenocyon dirus, in comparison to an approximately 6 foot tall human. These fuckers were the biggest wolves to ever live at about 3'9 at the head.

They're also about the same size as a small werewolf. Bigger than normal wolves, but small for their species. Think Quackity Wolf from chapter three. (For reference, a Great Dane dog would be bigger than the biggest real world wolf.)

But BIG wolves? Those can easily reach the same level as the ones from Twilight, especially European werewolves because their bodies evolved to get used to more open plains than forests. You need to be smaller to get through a rainforest, for example, so Forever Wolf is bigger than, say, Missa Wolf. Meanwhile Spreen Wolf would probably be at least bear sized, if not larger (I haven't decided yet) because a lot of Argentina is kinda just. Flat. If that makes sense

(Because I'm a huge biology nerd, I've decided that Darwinian evolution applies to the supernatural.)

Last night I had a dream where Charlie Yuurivoice was animated into an early 2000s chuck e cheese's commerical to replace chuck e himself.... and I'm just like. What if that's what the 2010 reboot was??? Replacing the 5 foot rat with a five foot white boy of almost the same name,,, that would be very funny actually. Imagine how many fans of the previous generations that would piss off, seeing their beloved pizza mascot turned into this anime pretty boy stoner whom everyone calls a rat by proxy. The generational impact this would have.... it's just too good.

Just an older retro piece for another MCU-inspired AU, involving the origin of Robert Grayson/Marvel Boy, where he and his sister Lucy escaped the planet Earth and were raised by an exiled group of Eternals on Uranus and must save their father from the madness of the High Evolutionary.

A few notes for the AU which I like to call "Evolutions"

•Adrien is a born mutant that is experimented on by a man called High Evolutionary. High Evolutionary manipulates his creations, in his search to create the perfect world and the perfect species.

•Adrien has retractable claws, used to be bones but after countless of different metals, High Evolutionary decided on Admantium.

•Adrien is the only MUTANT High Evolutionary worked on, other creations of his are animals.

•Adrien will be found by a team of mutants. In the search of creating their own society, they decided to sneak in High Evolutionary's hideout, thinking he would have tabs on very mutant on earth.

•Team consists of Wang Fu, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Nino Lahiffe, Alya Cesaire with the addition of Luka Couffaine later on.

•Adrien has the traits and brains of a wild animal. He's dangerous, he loses control, he attacks.

•The team, with the addition of Adrien run away from High Evolutionary's hideout after they get him. Of course they're not unnoticed.

That's about all I can tell for now, it's a very new thought that I am expanding on using multiple sources.
