Hey I was wondering if you could do a fan fiction where Lila and marinette were actually best friends but were faking to see who were good friends or not. If you do , do it pls take your time I don’t want to rush you

Sorry this took so long! I know you said not to rush, but still! Thanks for being patient! Hope you like it, and that is a interesting looking taco. Definitely different from my family's style of taco! Hope you enjoy the story!

Marinette had been attending a creative arts summer program for several years. The program was based out of London and kids from all over Europe would attend for different styles of creative arts. Marinette's grandmother would always make sure to be in London during the month of this program and Marinette would stay with her while the program was happening. Marinette often found herself excited for this one month away from Paris. Sure she loved being with her parents and friends, but it was nice to get away to a place nobody knew you for a while. She never even told her class where she went for that one month out of the summer. It was great.

Marinette made a lot of friends at the program, but she loved to hang out with Lila. She was studying theater at the program while Marinette studied fashion design. Lila was always so fun to hang out with, and they would spend hours just working on their different projects. Marinette working on her newest design, while Lila refined her monologues. Marinette was always amazed by Lila's acting. Its like she became a completely different person with each new piece Lila was practicing. It was very impressive.

Over the last few years, Marinette was starting to feel as though her friends in Paris weren't real friends. She started to notice how they only really wanted to hang out when they needed her to design or bake something. And they would often ask for things last minute, not thinking about Marinette's schedule, or even offering to pay for the supplies. Marinette didn't want to think that of her classmates, but it was getting difficult to ignore. Especially this year, because the amount of requests they had made had nearly tripled. Marinette was thrilled when it was time to head to her summer program and she could get away from Paris for a while.

Lila noticed pretty quickly that Marinette seemed different this year. She seemed more down, and more quiet then previous years. "Marinette? Is something wrong? You seem quiet..." Marinette snapped out of her trance and looked up at Lila. "Sorry Lila, I'm alright.." Lila put down her script, and sat down next to Marinette. "Come on Marinette. I can tell when you are lying. There is a reason I am in the acting program and you aren't." That got Marinette to laugh a little and for a moment she was just the happy Marinette that Lila knew. But the smile quickly faded. "Ok, I'll tell you." Marinette told Lila everything. How the class had been treating her and all of her doubts. "I just don't know if they really think of me as a friend, or if they are just using me. And I don't want to ask, because if they do think of me as a friend, I could offend them by asking. I just don't know what to do!" Lila thought for a moment, unsure of how to help her friend. She went home to think about it for the night, when her mother gave her the best news.

The next day, Lila rushed to Marinette and told her the news. "What? Your mom said you guys are moving to Paris for a year? That's awesome!" Lila was smiling, happy to see Marinette smiling. "And, best of all, we can fix these doubts. I can pretend to be the world's worst liar. I'll try and trick the class into believing my lies, and if they fall for it, then I will try to convince them to ditch you in exchange for favors and VIP treatment. If they ditch you, then they weren't really your friends and you will know for sure. If they don't, then they really care about you and you won't have to worry anymore." Marinette agreed to the plan, and they started to plan out all the little details and the lies Lila would use on the class. By the time the program was over for the summer and Marinette returned to Paris, they had a perfect plan. All that was left was to wait for school to start.

The school year had started, and Lila had just arrived. She wasted no time and started to wow the students with all of her 'amazing achievements'. Soon the whole school was fawning over her, with hardly any effort on Lila's part. Lila was thankfully in Mrs. Bustier's class, so that would make the plan much easier. Just as they discussed, Marinette spent most of the next few weeks trying to tell everyone that Lila was lying to them, to see if they would believe Lila or Marinette. When Marinette first voiced her concerns this past summer, Lila was sure her friend was just overthinking things. Sure the class was obviously inconsiderate from what Marinette had told Lila, but she was sure the class really thought of Marinette as a friend.

Oh, how quickly Lila was proven wrong. It only took a few weeks for the entire class to very clearly side with Lila. They told Marinette that she was just jealous of Lila and that Lila wasn't lying. While Lila's hope for the class was diminishing with each passing day, she clung to the hope that maybe the class was just gullible, but would stick with Marinette when it mattered. Now that the class had obviously decided to believe Lila, the two girls moved to the next stage of the plan. Lila started to tell the class that Marinette was harassing and bullying her. She offered the class no proof of these claims, just told them it happened. And to Lila's surprise, the class instantly believed her and dumped Marinette immediately. They isolated Marinette and nobody would talk to her. All because Lila said so.

Lila was truly horrified. She couldn't believe that Marinette's class ditched her like that. After talking it over with Marinette, they decided on one more test. Just to be sure that the class had truly sided with Lila for her 'connections and favors'. Lila was going to 'apologize' and reveal to the class that she had been lying and she didn't know all these people. But that was the only lie she would reveal. She would stick by what she said about Marinette bullying her. Would the class continue to defend Lila against a bully? Would they apologize to Marinette for believing a liar? Or would they instantly go back to Marinette like nothing happened?

The next day, Lila made the reveal. She told the class she lied about her celebrity connections, made a tearful and sincere apology, said that she had just thought no one would like her so she made herself seem more important to help make friends, but made it clear that Marinette was bullying her. "I am really sorry! I was just scared about moving to a new country and was desperate to make friends. But Marinette figured it out and has been so mean to me ever since, so I was afraid how you guys would react if I told you. But you guys have been so nice, I really hope we can stay friends and I will do anything to make it up to you guys!" The class' reaction was instant. They instantly turned their backs on Lila and made her the class outcast. While that is bad, if they had apologized to Marinette, that would have made it kind of ok. But instead, they just started talking to Marinette again. They tried to act like nothing happened and they hadn't ditched Marinette for a liar. Like they hadn't believed a girl they hardly knew over their 'close friend'. Like they hadn't thought the worst in Marinette just because of Lila. That was the final straw for Marinette. It was clear to her that the class didn't really think of her as a friend. Or at the very least, they didn't treat her like a friend. And Marinette was done with it.

Marinette decided to leave Dupont behind completely. She and Lila revealed their real plan to the class and left the school for good. She switched to a different school in the city that had a fantastic arts program. With her portfolio, the school quickly accepted her. Marinette was in her new school by Monday. Lila switched with her, and the two girls spent the rest of Lila's year in Paris having a great time at their new school. When it was time for Lila to leave, Marinette saw her and her mother to the airport, promising to see Lila at the summer program in two weeks. As she got back to the bakery one day, right before she left for London, she saw the class standing outside. They tried to apologize and ask to be friends again, but Marinette shut that down fast. "No. I am not coming back to Dupont, and we aren't friends anymore. It isn't just about Lila. Lila just made it clear that we haven't been friends for a very long time. I am happy at my new school. I have found real friends, that treat me like a friend would. And its all thanks to my real best friend, Lila. Now, please go. I have to pack for the summer." With that, Marinette went inside and closed the door on her old fake friends.

Day 29: Skeletons (in the closet)

Marinette blinks in shock, never having expected the man to show up in Gotham of all places.

“Well if it isn’t my favorite designer!” Jagged cheers, pulling her into a hug and ruffling her hair good naturedly. She opens her mouth to try and say something, anything really, when someone is suddenly tugging on her pants leg. She grins, glancing down at Damian fondly. Placing a hand on the top of his head in an effort to be reassuring, she glances back at Jagged.

“Hey, Jagged.” She says with a grin. He pulls back, smiling at her before glancing down, eyes widening at Damian.

“You didn’t tell me you had a kid!” He gasps, a hurt expression on his face.

“I know, J. It’s been a crazy year though.” She laughs, and he frowns.

“M, kid, that little rocker is definitely older than a year.” He says and she nods.

“Yeah, it’s a long story.” She says.

“Maman, up.” Damian demands, apparently deciding she was paying too much attention to the ‘strange’ man.

“Of course, minou.” Marinette says softly, scooping him up and resisting the urge to laugh when he burrows his head into her hair, glaring at Jagged. Who only laughs in response.

“Little man’s protective of his mum, I can respect that. Nice to meet you little guy, I’m your Uncle Jagged. Your mum’s like my little sister. She’s the best designer in the entire world.” He brags, and she winces slightly.

“Actually, J, I don’t really design much anymore.” She admits with a frown. Jagged’s eyebrows furrow.

“Why not? You were really going places, kid.” He says, sounding genuinely upset. Marinette sighs.

“I couldn’t, J. Everything was so crazy in Paris and I just ended up losing all of my inspiration. I’ve finally started to get some of it back, living in Gotham and meeting Bruce and the boys, but-” She sighs and shrugs. “I’m not sure if I’m ever going to design like I did when I was younger.”

“Hey M, is this guy bothering- ohmygodyou’rejaggedstone!” Dick storms over, a dangerous look on his face until he realizes who he’s talking to. At which point his words begin to string together until he’s almost incoherent.

“Dick, sweetheart, breathe and try again.” She laughs and he nods.

“You know Jagged Stone?” He asks, his voice an octave higher than usual.

“Know? She’s my honorary little sister.” Jagged says with a wide grin, throwing an arm around her shoulders, making her roll her eyes.

“You’re literally, the coolest.” Dick says, and she swears there are actual stars in his eyes.

“Wow, really feeling the love,” Marinette teases with a grin. “You only like me cause I know cool people.” She says with a sigh. His eyes widen and he shakes his head.

“No, of course not, M. You’re super awesome cause you care about us and you make the best cookies and-” He stops when he sees her silent laughter. “And you’re totally messing with me. God.” He sighs, shaking his head. She just snorts.

“You know I love you, kiddo.” She says with a grin.

“So are you living in Gotham full time now?” Jagged asks, and she nods.

“Yeah, with my fiancé, actually. We haven’t set a date or anything, but I was planning on sending you and Pen an invitation when we do.” She promises and he grins.

“You better! Can’t get married without your big brother there to intimidate the groom.” He says. She sighs.

“J, I swear, if you cause drama at my wedding-” She starts, but he just waves her off.

“Oh, breathe, M. I’m not that bad.” Jagged says. She just hums in response before a random thought pops into her head. Knowing she’ll probably regret it later, she takes a deep breath.

“Would you like to meet my other sons and fiancé?” She asks. Jagged’s eyes widen.

“Wait, really? And, sons? How many do you have?” He asks.

“Four. Tim and Jason are home, Damian is the one clinging onto me, and Dick is our oldest.” She explains, gesturing to Dick. Jagged beams.

“This is bloody brilliant! I’ve got four nephews!” He cheers. “I’ve gotta call Pen!”

“Is she in Gotham, too?” Marinette asks, ready to invite her to meet everyone as well. Jagged always had been easier to handle with Penny around. But alas, he shakes his head.

“No, she’s currently working on some issues with the tour schedule at our main office in London.” He says and she nods in understanding, remembering how crazy some of his tour plans could be.

“We’ll definitely have to catch her next time then. Did you have something else planned, or would you like to come now? Everyone should be there.” She says. Jagged grins.

“Let's go meet your family, M!” He cheers. Marinette smiles, her excitement dimming slightly as Damian tugs her hair and glares at her. This was going to go okay, right?

Marinette winces, hoping her sons will decide to take the volume down sometime in this century. They’d started screaming in excitement the second they saw Jagged, and hadn’t calmed down since. Damian, on the other hand, had run off the second they got home. If she had to guess, he was running to get Bruce to ‘handle’ Jagged.

“Hello, darling.” Bruce says, grinning as he walks into the room, immediately moving to her and pulling her into a light kiss. She grins, glancing behind him at Damian poking his head into the room, a relieved look on his tiny face.

“Damian worried?” She asks, and he nods.

“I don’t think he’ll ever be okay with you hugging ‘random men’ as he called your friend.” He says, before turning and glancing at Jagged. His eyes widen slightly for a moment before he glances back at her. “How do you know Jagged Stone?” He asks. She winces. Her time as MDC was practically the skeleton in her closet. She didn’t tell people, didn’t like to bring it up. Her failed design career (that really, shouldn’t have failed. It only did because she didn’t have the time to design in Hawkmoth’s Paris).

“I used to be his designer. He’s kinda like the big brother I never really asked for, but got anyway.” She says in a teasing tone, grinning as Jagged laughs and teases their three oldest boys.

“His designer?” Bruce says, eyebrows furrowed as he thinks. His eyes widened slightly, glancing at her with an impressed look. “MDC?” He asks. She nods before he pulls her into another kiss.

“What was that for?” She asks and he smiles sadly at her.

“An apology, that you gave up designing.” He says, and her heart melts. He understood. Most people, when they found out that she gave up designing, only wanted to talk about how good she’d been and ask her when she was going to start designing again. Bruce understood why she’d had to give up designing, and she could tell he wouldn’t pressure her. Even knowing she’d been MDC. She loved him.

“Hold on a minute boys, I see a new face in here. Hey man, I’m Jagged, this awesome lady’s brother.” Jagged greets, sticking his hand out for a handshake. Bruce smiles, and shakes his hand with a nod.

“I’m Bruce Wayne, Mari’s fiancé.” He says. Jagged grins.

“Do I have to give you the shovel talk, mate, or are you going to always treat my baby sister the way she deserves?” He asks. Marinette blushed furiously.

“Jagged!” She huffs, glaring at him. He just sticks his tongue out at her before turning back to Bruce, eyebrow raised in question.

“I will always treat her in the best possible way. I’m in love with her, every aspect of who she is and who she was. And I plan on spending every day of the rest of my life, loving her with my whole heart.” Bruce says, and Jagged grins.

“Good on you, mate. Now boys, where were we?” He asks, turning and grinning at the boys before launching into another (PG) tour story. Marinette just smiles at Bruce goofily, her smile widening as he looks down at her, eyebrows furrowed.

“What?” He asks. She laughs lightly.

“You really don’t know, do you?” She asks.

“Know what?” He asks, frowning lightly. She grins, pulling him into a deep kiss, her arms wrapped around his neck. She pulls back slightly, their foreheads still touching.

“That you are the most romantic man on the planet. And that I love you, so very much. You and the life we have together. And I wouldn’t ever trade it for anything. Not in a million years.” She says, smiling as he grins and pulls her into another kiss.

don’t steal adrien’s phone - a fanfiction by miraculous_carnation

hi yall! this amazing piece of art isnt unfortunately done by me- it’s by the ultra charming miraculous_carnation on ao3, so be sure to check her out! i’ve gotten her permission to post this here, so dont worry! enjoy the show!

Lila Rossi posed for the camera, putting on a flirty face, Adrien sitting next to her. They were at the Palace of Versailles, the place for their photoshoot. Lila hugged Adrien in a way that made him uncomfortable, running her hands across his back. The photographer, noticing Adrien’s discomfort, asked them to take a 5 minutes break.

Lila walked to where Adrien was sitting. “So, Adrien! The photos are going to look awesome, right? I mean, we look so in love!”

Adrien’s eyes opened wide when he heard her voice. “Um, Lila? I know I’ve said this a lot, but can you please stop touching me? It makes me uncomfortable, and I already have a girlfriend,” Adrien tried to explain.

Lila narrowed her eyes at his last statement. Ugh, that Maritrash. What did Adrien see in her?

“Oh of course, Adrien! I’d never want to do something that would make you feel uncomfortable,” she whispered, leaning towards his mouth. Adrien grew stiff. Luckily, the photographer called for them just in time. Lila rolled her eyes, but then put on a fake smile.

“Oh well, anyways, we better go back, Adrien! We have to finish the shoot!”

Adrien hated photoshoots with Lila. They were the worst. Luckily, it was only for another 30 minutes, because after that, he had an interview with Nadja Chamack on Face to Face.

Lila hid behind a bush, watching Adrien get up and head toward the photoshoot. Perfect. She ran over to the table and picked up his phone.

“Well, Adrien, let’s see who you really love,” she smirked.

“Welcome back to, Face to Face! This is your host, Nadja Chamack, live in Paris!” Nadja Chamack enthusiastically said while the audience clapped. “Today, we have a very important guest. He’s a model, born here in Paris, ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the son of world famous designer Gabriel Agreste, Adrien Agreste!”

2 seconds later, Adrien walked onto the stage, wearing a suit, created specially by his father, strutting in the way his father taught him when he was little. ‘Flash a flirty smile to the audience, then greet Nadja Chamack professionally’, his father’s words repeated in his mind. His father cared about his appearance and reputation, after all…

“Hello there, Nadja! How are you doing today?” Adrien politely asked. He wished he could be somewhere else,particularly running around as CHat Noir, maybe playing a game of tag with Ladybug…

“Oh, well I’m doing wonderful!” Nadja responded, snapping Adrien out of his daze. “Anyways, I’ve got a bunch of questions for you! First one, are you dating Lila Rossi, a fellow model from your father’s company? Are the rumors true?”

Adrien sighed. There were so many rumors about that going around, many of them created by Lila. She already convinced the class that they were dating, when he actually was dating Marinette.

“Sorry, Nadja, but that is incorrect. I am not dating Lila Rossi, but I am dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng, of who you may know.”

Nadja smiled at the name of her friend’s daughter. “Yes, I know Marinette, I commissioned her to create a dress for Manon for my sister’s wedding, and it came out beautiful! Everyone in the audience, go check out Marinette’s website!”

Lila Rossi was watching the Face to Face interview, fuming. She didn’t know he had an interview! How dare Adrien say that! She’d ruin his relationship with Marinette! She tapped into his phone, already knowing his password, courtesy of his father. Gabriel Agreste gave her access to all of his son’s social media accounts for safety reasons. She logged onto his Instagram account and made a new post, adding the photo of Lila kissing him on the cheek.

“So grateful for my girlfriend @lilarossi! Love you!”

She smirked. No way he was getting out of this one.

Nadja Chamack was confused. Apparently, a new post from Adrien on Instagram was posted just now, but how was it possible? Adrien was talking to her the whole time!

She coughed. “Adrien, it seems that there has been a new post on your Instagram,” Adrien looked shocked, “can we have the post on the screen?”

Adrien’s eyes grew wide as he saw the post. “Nadja, I didn’t post that! I couldn’t-”

“I know you didn’t, Adrien. You’ve been talking to me the whole time right now!”, Adrien let out a sigh of relief, “Is it possible your social media team did it?”

Adrien shook his head. “No, they don’t put out posts like that. They only put out posts that promote the brand!”

“So if it wasn’t your social media team, who was it?” Nadja said in confusion. There were several murmurs in the audience as well.

Adrien narrowed his eyes. “Well, I have a hunch. What is the post about?”

Nadja caught on with his thinking. “Oh, so you believe Lila Rossi posted this? How would she have gotten your phone?”

Adrien thought about what happened before the interview. “Well, you see, before coming here, I had a photoshoot with Lila. She probably took my phone then.”

Gabriel Agreste was watching from the safety of his home. Lila Rossi had not thought about this beforehand! She was going to ruin his plan and his brand! How dare she!

Nathalie walked in. “Sir, would you like me to delete the post and disable Adrien’s social media accounts?”

“Yes, Nathalie. Have Adrien’s social media team clean up the mess.” Gabriel sighed. The only good thing that came out of this was that he figured out his son was dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It was a good choice, as Marinette was exceptional.

Lila’s eyes grew wide at the revelation. She posted about herself on Adrien’s account when he was in an interview! It made her the prime suspect! Hopefully Mr. Agreste’s social media team could take the blame.

She dialed Mr. Agreste’s number. “Hello, is Mr. Agreste there?”

She was greeted with the monotone voice of Nathalie. “Excuse me, Miss Rossi, but Mr. Agreste has decided to terminate your contract on behalf of Gabriel. You will never model in his brand again. Goodbye.”

Lila gasped. How dare that dumb assistant! She was Lila Rossi! How dare Gabriel Agreste do that to her! She would ruin him!

“On top of recent events, Lila Rossi has lied about many things. She even got Marinette expelled once!” Adrien explained to Nadja, excited that he found a way to expose Lila.

Marinette was watching all of this from the comfort from her room, her mouth wide open. Well, she wasn’t super surprised, Lila would do something like this, but Adrien called her his girlfriend! Sure, they were dating, but she didn’t think he would announce it publicly!

Girl, are you watching Face to Face? Can you believe Lila lied?

Hold up, you’re dating Adrien? Why didn’t you tell me?

Girl, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me. I thought we were BFFs!

Marinette snorted at the latter. BFFs? Yeah, right. Alya literally announced to the class two weeks ago that their friendship was over and that her new best friend would be Lila. Go figure!

“Wow. As you can see, ladies and gentlemen, startling revelations about the newest Gabriel model has come through! Hold on, we have a new post from the official Gabriel Twitter account! Can we please have this on the screen?” Nadja exclaimed.

Adrien read the post, not surprised. Of course his father would try to save face. It wasn’t new. He was just happy he wouldn’t have to model with Lila anymore.

The audience and Nadja gasped when they read the post. “Wow! It looks like the Gabriel brand has officially terminated Lila Rossi’s contract!” Nadja had to act surprised because this was predictable from the fashion designer. Typical Gabriel.

“Well, folks! There was a lot of drama today, but that concludes today’s interview! I hope you come again for another episode of, Face to Face!” Nadja concluded.

Bonus Scene:

“Well, Adrien, you made a good choice with Marinette. She could take over the designing area of the company while you take over the business side. When will you marry her?”

“FATHER!”

“Well, kid, he’s not wrong. Pigtails makes pretty good bread. And oh how good it tastes with camembert! Oh my sweet gooiness!”

“Shut up, Plagg.”

Vesperia Doll Leaked~

So for those who don't know, a day ago Zagstoreusa leaked a new doll on their Instagram story and that doll happened to be no other than Vesperia.

Ever since this leaked, a lot of people have mixed thoughts and feelings on it. Particularly those who either love or hate Chloe and the same towards Zoe. For starters, some are excited to see Vesperia as a doll because it makes sense. You got a new hero, you gotta make a new toy to sell it to the kids/fans and make the money somehow. On the other hand, those who adore Chloe as Queen Bee are upset and annoyed because, yeah people still love Chloe as Queen Bee and they do want her back. Especially since we already have a doll of her. Totally understandable.

What are my thoughts on this? I’m...a little in between.

For starters, I actually do like how the doll looks. I personally do love how the Miraculous dolls look because they really do resemble the show’s art style perfectly and I also love that articular look they give them. Especially on the girls. I think Cat Noir looks good too, but personally, not a big fan of the smile he has; but everything else looks good. To the person who designs these dolls, I really do think they studied the show’s style to resemble it perfectly, especially if they’re gonna structure it with plastic and other material to make them look accurate.

Also, if anything, this gives me a new idea for more future MLB dolls.

For example: I would personally love a Queen Bee and Vesperia 2-pack one day or hell, even a Chloe and Zoe 2-pack. Like if you like both heroes and want them both to co-exist, you can have one of each and maybe in certain ideas, you can have one be the other and vice versa.

On the contrary, I knew this was gonna happen.

Once they announced that new MLB dolls were gonna be released, right off the bat I went (snaps fingers) “Vesperia’s gonna be made, don’t even start with me.”

And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thought this.

Furthermore, a lot of people also are arguing that other characters should’ve been made first and to be totally fair, I agree. Wouldn’t it make more sense to release the other heroes that came before Vesperia? I get that the bee miraculous is one of the five main miraculouses, but we had other heroes that were release before. Viperion, Ryuko, hell it’s been almost 7 years, and still

NO CARAPACE DOLL?! THE FUCK?!

It’s also really frustrating because for a character that was build up to be the new bee hero and how everyone on the ML team went “We’re getting a new Queen Bee!” Zoe really had wasted potential.

Like, let’s take a look at all the episodes where she appeared in so far:

Sole Crusher: Introduced as Chloe’s half sister; is pressured to be mean; is akumatized; saved by Ladybug; apologizes for actions; everyone but Chloe loves her.

Queen Banana: Actor in a school movie project; sister is akumatized; Ladybug chooses her to be new bee hero; Chloe is rightfully pissed off; everyone praises her as the new and improved Vesperia!

Gabriel Agreste: Only there to be one of Marinette’s 20 wing men to get her together with Adrien; Vesperia cameo but her picture is cut in half on screen. Not from Chloe surprisingly.

Mega Leech: Only there at the last minute as the “20% cooler and so awesome” Vesperia!

Crocoduel: Pointless cameo!

Optigami: Pointless cameo!

Penalteam: Will appear, but either watch her be another pointless cameo, only appear at last minute, or both where she will tell Chloe off for being a Nasty McMeanie because Thomas said so.

Ephermeral: Pointless ca-oh wait, no, she’s once more “THE SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS AMAZING VESPERIA!” for only like one goddamn scene.

Kuro Neko: Once again, another pointless cameo, but also to be the “BEST BEE HERO! SO MUCH BETTER THAN QUEEN BEE!” uwu

Wow, so nine episodes (technically 8) out of 26 and you couldn’t once think about giving her character? That’s smooth, Thomas Astruc and Friends. Real smooth. 🙄 👌

Yet again, the fuck am I saying? Unless you’re Ladybug or Cat Noir, you have wasted potential. Period.

And look, I’m sorry if I’m being immature as fuck right now, but that’s my main problem with Zoe. She has no character development, she has wasted potential, nothing, besides her being the new bee holder and Chloe’s half sister, stands out as a character, and it’s just frustrating to watch.

Granted, I still want her to improve and hopefully be her own character. Hell, I’m still hoping for a Chloe and Zoe friendship soon as possible, but if not, at least there’s AUs and fanfics for that.

Marinette’s babysitting and its absolute chaos. (Poor Kwami)

-Marinette really needs to chill. I thought she learned to just tell kids she likes a guy. Did Chrismaster mean NOTHING?

-This feels more like a season 2/3 episode, aside from all the kwami

-Marinette being a good friend and letting Alya have a date with Nino. (Which considering what happened in Rocketear, the boy needs)

-I thought Lila was gonna be the designated babysitter? Well I guess she is busy not being involved which works for me.

-Honestly the writing was so deep in this episode

-Well Marinette tried to confess. Realizing her reason for over complicating things was out of fear of rejection

-Marinette still mucked up confessing but she and Adrien did have a cute banter

-Well that ending was cute. And encouraging

Overall its pretty much a filler episode. It was a much needed break. It is a decent look into the writing process of ML. (That simple is what they can manage)

I will say that Its on the level of bakerix if it was better. I will give it a 7/10

Chapter 36: Sue Me

“Did you hear about Marinette?”

“Oh, you mean about the children’s hospital?”

“Crazy, right? She’s so generous.”

Lila’s annoyance flared hotter with each step she took at school. It had been a week since Marinette’s stupid fashion show, and people were still buzzing about her. To make matters worse, she’d donated every dime to the stupid children’s hospital for new equipment. Over two million euros by herself, and not to mention, her friends all pitched in to donate another two million—as if the hospital needed that much. Lila was going to be hearing about her for a while.

“Yo, Lila!” Nino waved her down from across the courtyard.

She flicked her gaze over to him, only to feel her blood curdle when she spotted Adrien. He offered her a cheeky grin as she approached.

“Adrien was just telling me about the children’s hospital. The new equipment is really helping a lot of kids. Isn’t it awesome?” Nino said.

“Wow, yeah. That’s so thoughtful of you, Adrien,” Lila said, plastering on a fake smile.

“It was all Marinette’s idea actually. She’s always trying to help people. I’m so unworthy.” Adrien placed a hand over his heart.

Stupid poser.

“We’re planning a party at the park to celebrate the end of the school year. Do you think Marinette would come if we invited her?” Rose asked.

“I’ll ask her,” Adrien said. “Actually, we’re going to be doing a lot of charity work this summer, and we’d love it if you guys could join us.”

“Sure. We’ll help out,” Alix said.

“I know you and Marinette don’t exactly get along, Lila, but it would be mega awesome if you helped out. Maybe it would help you two bury the hatchet.” Nino suggested.

Lila suppressed an eye roll. “Oh, I would love to help, but I’m actually going on a summer trip to Achu to work on my global campaign to end pollution, so I’m afraid I’ll have to pass.”

“Too bad, but good luck with your campaign!” Adrien patted her shoulder as the bell rang, and their classmates dispersed.

She shot him a pointed glare, but he simply smiled and walked away.

As it turned out, lying about being out of the country all summer made for a very boring two months spent indoors, and all the while, her mortal enemy was out living it up at beach parties. Even stuck in her own house, she couldn’t get away from Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Every time she opened Instagram or Twitter, there Marinette was posing with her friends at the beach or doing an interview with Nadja about whatever ridiculous charity she was doing.

To say Lila hated her was an understatement; however, staying off of her electronics gave her time to think and plan how she was going to win everyone back at the start of the new school year. They were all moving up to lycée, and Adrien was moving to the same school as Marinette, which only made things easier. There was no one left to stop her from running everything, so Marinette could enjoy her 15 minutes of fame if she wanted. Lila had everything she needed.

“Alright, my bella, I’m off,” her mother called, peeking her head into Lila’s room. “Got any exciting plans today?”

“Yeah, I’m going to a movie with some friends.” Lila smiled as her mother leaned down to kiss her temple.

“Well, have fun. I should be back later tonight. I’ve got a day full of meetings ahead of me.” Her mother sighed. “That girl that used to go to your school is coming to pitch an idea for us today. The famous designer girl, now what was her name?”

“You’re having a meeting with Marinette?” Lila shot up.

“Marinette! Yes, that’s it.” She snapped her fingers in realization. “She wants to pitch a campaign to help Europe go green. Isn’t that wonderful? Most of us are already on board, so this meeting is just a formality to discuss specifics.”

Lila’s blood ran cold as her mother dug her keys from her purse.

“I left you a couple meals in the fridge in case I get back late. Have a great day, my love!”

Lila’s hands clenched into fists, her breaths coming in short and ragged. When the apartment door closed, she buried her face in her pillow with a scream.

Poor little girl trapped in a web of her own lies. I can help you get revenge.

“Oh, get lost, Hawkmoth! I can’t get akumatized because I’m supposed to be out of the country!” Lila shouted, ripping out her earrings and tossing them across the room with a growl. She collapsed onto her bed, burying her face in her pillow with a pout.

Stupid Marinette! Lila never thought when she challenged her that any of this would happen. She would have to think up some really good lies to get herself out of this one come September.

♪♫♪ I Forgot That You Existed ♪♫♪

“How do I look?” Marinette twirled around. “Too frumpy? Is this too serious? Not serious enough? Should I have a briefcase? I think I need a briefcase. Danielle, how quickly can I get a briefcase?”

“You look fine.” Adrien assured her, placing his hands on her shoulders to steady her. “Incredibly cute as always.”

“Okay, but cute isn’t going to cut it for a room of global ambassadors. I need to be smart and professional and-and-”

“You are both of those things.” Adrien squished her cheeks in his hands. “Stop worrying.”

“But what if I knock over the projector, or what if I accidentally delete the presentation when I go to open it? Or what if I spill the chief ambassador’s coffee in his lap and give him second-degree burns and get banned from ever setting foot in France again- no, what if they ban me from the Earth? I’ll have to go live on the moon. Adrien, I can’t live on the moon!” Marinette took frantic breaths.

“None of that is going to happen.” Adrien got her a cup of water from the cooler nearby. “I’ve seen you rehearse this speech a thousand times, so why don’t you let me handle the PowerPoint.” He pressed the cup to her lips and gently took the remote from her hand. “The ambassadors are just interested in your idea. Their job is to make the world a better place, and that’s all you’re trying to do. No one is grading you on how well you present, so just get in there and get the idea out and answer any questions. You can do this.”

“I know, but what if I get lightheaded and pass out?” She paced the length of the hall. “Plus, it’s not even my idea.”

“Well, you were inspired by someone else on the general idea, but you were the one who came up with the specific details. You planned exactly how to go about it. You reached out to the ambassadors and put the whole thing together, so I would say that it is your idea.” He fanned her with a pamphlet. “Lila may have been the spark that lit this flame, but you’re the one who keeps it going so it can warm the most people. You’ve taken all of her lies and used them to help people, Marinette. Everything you do is for the good of others, and you should be proud of that.”

“The good of everyone except Lila.” Marinette corrected.

“Well, who knows? Maybe this will teach her to stop lying.” Adrien wrapped his arms around her waist. “Quit worrying. You’re going to be great, and I’m not just saying that because I love you so much.”

Marinette giggled as he pressed a squeaky kiss to her cheek. Adrien was right. This wasn’t about her or even Lila. Her plan would help millions of people across Europe, and that was all that mattered.

The door to the meeting room opened, and the secretary stepped out.

“They’re ready for you, Marinette,” she said with a smile.

Marinette let out a breath, rolling her neck and wiping her palms on her blazer.

“Ready?” Adrien quirked a brow.

“Yeah. Ready.” She nodded.

Several men and women in suits sat at a round table, all heads turning to her as she entered. A few of them flashed her encouraging smiles as Adrien plugged in the thumb drive and pulled up her presentation.

“Um, good afternoon,” she said, unsure of what to do with her hands and ultimately settling for clasping them together in front of her. “Thank you for meeting with me today.”

“Thank you for reaching out to us, Marinette. It’s nice to see youth taking initiative and working to better their community,” one woman said with a friendly smile that Marinette returned.

She squared her shoulders and took a deep breath. “I want to present you all with a plan to help the European Union do its part in diminishing our footprint on the environment.”

♪♫♪ I Know Places ♪♫♪

Marinette sat stiffly in her town car, watching buildings pass as Danielle flipped through her schedule. It was the first time she was arriving at school with a chauffeur, and even though it was commonplace for her classmates, she was still having a hard time adjusting. Riding with her friends was one thing, but now that she had her own private car, she couldn't help feeling awkward. She missed the subway and its normalcy, but things were different now. The subway was no longer an option unless she wanted to get mobbed by fans. A lot had changed over the summer.

“You're spending time with your friends after school today, but don't forget your branding appointment with Mme. Bourgeois at 7,” Danielle said without looking up from her tablet.

“I won't. Thank you, Danielle,” Marinette said with a smile.

Despite feeling weird about her newfound wealth, she had to admit that having someone to manage her schedule was nice. She had so many appointments and meetings for all of her charities that it would be impossible to keep up with on her own. Danielle made sure that she was where she was supposed to be on time, and she also ensured that Marinette wasn't taking on too much so she still had ample amounts of free time to spend with her friends. It made juggling her civilian life with her hero life easier. She had to be more careful with everyone watching her, but at least she was still awarded plenty of freedom. Or as much freedom as she could have without getting chased down by fans.

“Have a good day, Marinette,” Danielle said as the car slowed to a stop at the curb.

“Thank you, Danielle. You too!” She smiled as she climbed out.

She thought her collége was enormous, but lycée was even bigger. Despite all of her accomplishments, she still felt small standing on the sidewalk. She was at the bottom of the food chain again, and her peers were all accomplished in their own rights. At least she still had all of her friends, so she wouldn’t be alone.

Teachers stood in the halls, helping students find their way, and Marinette glanced down at the schedule on her phone with pursed lips as she walked. Macy and Eliott were still in her class, so at least she’d have someone to sit by. Plus, they could see Martin and Lisette at lunch.

“Oh my gosh, is that Marinette Dupain-Cheng?” A faux-nasally voice gasped.

She turned to see familiar silky blond hair leaning against the doorway to the stairwell, a smile curling on her lips.

“I love your work! Can I have an autograph?”

Marinette leapt into his arms with a giggle, touching her lips to his. When she pulled away, she examined the gray uniform and cheeky grin.

“You didn’t tell me you were coming here!” she said.

“I wanted to surprise you.” He shrugged. “And judging from your reaction, I’d say that mission was a success.”

“You left behind Nino… Kim, Ivan, Max…” Marinette shook her head.

“It’s not like I can’t see them. Besides, I have friends here too.” He touched his forehead to hers. “Plus it gets me away from you-know-who.”

“What about Chloe?” Marinette asked.

“She didn’t want to transfer to private school. Something about not being caught dead in such dreadful uniforms.” He rolled his eyes. “Plus someone has to stay behind to keep an eye on things to fuel our plans.”

Marinette relaxed, her smile widening, though it wavered when she looked back down at his uniform.

“Okay, but why do you look so good though? That’s not fair!” She huffed.

Adrien threw his head back with a laugh, striking a pose. “I can make anything look good.”

Marinette stretched up on her toes to kiss him again. As it turned out, having her boyfriend at school with her was going to prove trickier than she thought.

“Um, you two do realize the bell rang, right?” Macy peeked behind the stairwell where they were tangled with locked lips.

“Oh, yeah, we were just-” Marinette said as they frantically detangled themselves, but at Macy’s quirked a brow, she mumbled a quick, “Thanks…”

“Come on, you two. We’re going to have to put you guys on a leash, I swear.” Macy chuckled as they scurried after her, fixing their hair with rosy cheeks.

“Can you blame me? She’s just so cute.” Adrien shot Marinette a wink.

“You two are worse than Eliott and Lisette,” Macy groaned.

In the months following the fashion show, Macy had been seeing a therapist to help with her body image struggles. It made Marinette happy to know that she was working to get better. She smiled a lot more freely now, and she’d taken seeing her face all over magazines in stride. Marinette was glad to see her becoming more confident.

“Anywho, Martin and I have loads to tell you about our trip to Germany to oversee your Go Green initiative. In just two months, they’ve reduced the amount of one-use plastics by 13% all thanks to you.” Macy reported jovially as they entered the classroom.

“Well, well, look what the cat dragged in.” Eliott grinned at Macy, who shoved his shoulder.

“I found them making out under the staircase,” she said.

Eliott shook his head at them. “I told you it would happen. As soon as Adrien said he was applying to our school, I knew we were going to have to chaperone them.”

“You told them?” Marinette quirked a brow at Adrien, and he offered her a guilty smile.

“It was worth it to see your face when you saw me.” He kissed her hand, taking the seat beside her. “Plus, I missed being in the same class as you, so this will be fun.”

“Just make sure you two pay attention.” Macy teased.

Marinette bit back a smile as the teacher entered and started the day. Having Adrien at her school again was nice, and as she stole glances at him in class, she realized that she really had missed seeing him every day. Of course, things were much different between them than they were the last time they were in school together. He was her boyfriend. She was famous. Chloe was her friend. Alya was not. So much had changed in her life in just a few short months.

She didn’t know what the future held, but for the first time in a long time, Marinette felt confident in the direction she was headed.

Day 1- Checkmate in your own game!

- Part of Salty September -

One Eleanor Davis was going to visit her cousin Marinette Dupain-Cheng in Paris. It was a Surprise visit because she doesn't have much free time. Eleanor was studying fashion much like her cousin, but in modelling. She was going to be the face of MDC once she graduates. You see Marinette wasn't like most people, she had been designing as world famous since she was fourteen. It had been two years since MDC made a debut. Marinette had asked her cousin to be her head model after two months of launching her brand. Jagged Stone had sponsored her brand till she finds a face. Initially she was going to ask Juleka to model for her to help her dream come true. But all of her class had turned on her because of one Lila Rossi. So she asked her cousin whose dream was to become a model for Audrey Bourgeois to model for her. Eleanor was shocked that the overnight famed designer was her cousin. Eleanor became a hit quickly. When Eleanor had asked Marinette that her friends could model with her too, Marinette said that none were interested. Lila rossi was the actual reason Marinette refused to let her classmates model, but her cousin did not need to know that.

So, Eleanor Davis was on her way to the Dupain-Cheng bakery. Eleanor quietly made her way to her cousins room.

"Boo!" She said. Eleanor gasped on seeing her cousin curled up in her boyfriends arms sobbing. Her Aunt and Uncle were rubbing her back.

"Chipmunk what's wrong?!" Eleanor asked worried for her cousin.

Marinette or Chipmunk as dubbed by Eleanor, stopped sobbing slowly only to find her cousin standing in front of her. "Elly what are you doing here?" She asked once her sobs quieted down.

"I came to see you Chipmunk, since we don't see each other frequently. Now golden boy what happened to my little Chipmunk?" Eleanor asked Felix, Marinette's boyfriend.

"Lila rossi, one of her classmates, a pure bitch. She and the others ripped her sketch book and called her names, few also beat her up. Imbeciles. I'll kill that bitch." Felix answered furiously.

"Felix! Shhh! you weren't supposed to say anything!" Marinette exclaims in a hushed tone.

"That bitch! What did my chipmunk ever do to her! Let me at her! Where is she? I will rip her to shreds!" Eleanor shouts.

"Elly calm down. You'll become an Akuma!" Marinette tries to reason.

"I'm calm now. How long has this been going on?" Eleanor asks.

"Two years now. Damocles doesn't do anything." Tom Dupain answers looking at his daughter.

"Two Years! Aunt Sabine have you considered switching schools?" Eleanor askes.

"I have Eleanor dear, but the school refuses to send transfer papers." Sabine answers disappointed.

"What about this, Everyone knows I am MDC's face. How 'bout I threaten to sue them? Then I'll transfer there and take care of that bitch." Eleanor Asks hopefully.

"Elena you can't sue them! And you're not killing anyone!" Marinette panics.

"Don't worry chipmunk, only a threat. Also I'm not killing anyone." Eleanor says.

"That's a wonderful Idea Eleanor!" Felix exclaims.

"Any allies I should know about Pipsqueak?" Eleanor asks facing her cousin.

"Only three. Marc, Nath, and Chlo." Marinette answers still looking down.

"Marc as in your look alike cousin?" Eleanor asks hopefully.

"Yep"

Eleanor's POV

"Class we have a new student here. Be nice to her. Now Dear will you Introduce yourself? I'm Caline Bustier." Ginger haired teacher speaks.

Yeah. As if I don't know you Bully Enabler.

"Marinette quit acting! We know that's you!" An overly sick voice sounds. Brown Sausage hair. Yep that's Lila.Scoff.

"Look I don't know who are you Sausages for hairs. But I'm not this Marinette you speak of!" I'll have to pretend I don't know Chipmunk here.

"Who're you calling Sausages hair? You're rude!" A pixie girl says. That must be rose.

"Sorry if I was being rude. But I just Complementing her. Besides If someone's rude here that's her! She called me this Marinette and reprimanded me! " I say with an obviously fake sweet voice.

"Thanks for the complement, Sorry for being rude." Lila answers gritting teeth. Sweet. Serves her right.

"Now if that's done, Introduce yourself please!" Bustier says.

"Can I Have an Interview? Your THE Eleanor Davis. Sorry If lila was rude. Can you tell me who's MDC?" An aburn hair asks. Lila's Jaw drops as she apologises for Lila. Maybe one of her biggest followers. Right the Ladyblogger, Alya.

"No, Sorry no Interview, But you're the LadyBlogger right? MDC's my Cous. If that's good enough inside scoop?" I say with fake concern.

"OMG girl that's the best scoop I've had for MDC's !" Alya says.

"Your welcome. If that's not it MDC's a teenage girl younger than me by a few months?" I say.

"Wow ! that's awesome!" Alya says.

Mentally rolling my eyes I make my way towards the back. I hear faint those're bullies from the others.

"Hey Cous!" Marc exclaims fist bumping me. "Hey Marc." I reply.

"He's your Cousin?!!" Everyone shouts. Alya says "So he's MDC! That's great!"

"No Alya He's not. No offence bit you need to pay more attention. I just said MDC's a girl." I say with concern.

" Oh sorry. So how's he related to MDC?" She asks.

"Oh that. He's her mother's older brother's youngest son. I'm her father's younger sister's only daughter." I say.

I pass notes to our friends explaining my plans.

Welp, this class is dumber than I thought.

Alya's POV of the above

While we were chatting we were interrupted by mlle.Bustier.

"Class we have a new student here. Be nice to her. Now Dear will you Introduce yourself? I'm Caline Bustier."

The new student examines her. She looks a lot like Marinette. Only Green eyes. Maybe she is. Doing it for attention. Attention Whore.

"Marinette quit acting! We know that's you!" Lila says. We all make hums of agreements.

'Marinette' Scoffs suddenly.

"Look I don't know who are you Sausages for hairs. But I'm not this Marinette you speak of!"

Sausages hair. That's rude. But if that's the case then lila was rude to her first.

"Who're you calling Sausages hair? You're rude!" Rose shouts.

"Sorry if I was being rude. But I just Complimenting her. Besides If someone's rude here that's her! She called me this Marinette and reprimanded me! " The new girl says with a sweet voice maybe I was wrong about her.

"Thanks for the complement, Sorry for being rude." Lila answers. She looks annoyed

"Now if that's done, Introduce yourself please!"Mlle. Bustier says.

Everyone's jaw drops.

Woah sweet MDC's in our class.

"He's your Cousin?!!" Everyone shouts. I say "So he's MDC! That's great!"

"No Alya He's not. No offence bit you need to pay more attention. I just said MDC's a girl." she says with concern. I'm offended. But no one's frowning. I'll keep quiet.

" Oh sorry. So how's he related to MDC?" I ask.

"Oh that. He's her mother's older brother's youngest son. I'm her father's younger sister's only daughter." she says.

Eleanor's POV

Stage One: Sow seeds of doubt.

"MDC's name stand for Micheal de Collins! I should know i'm his bestie!" Lie-la says.

"Lila, no offence but someone's fooling you. My cous is seriously a girl." I say.

Stage two: Pile up evidences and collect Lawsuits.

"Thanks Mr.Stone. That's great." I say while he hands me Lawsuits for Lila.

"Anything for Nettie" He says.

Stage three: Report to Police.

"I'm sorry, we had no idea this was going on Ms.Davis" The men from the school board say.

"Kid the case's registered, When do you want us to arrest her?" Raincomprix asks.

"The End of Lycee Gala." I say.

"Alright."

Stage four: Invite all celebrities to Gala

"Mlle. Bustier, I invited many Celebs for the Gala!" I say.

"That's Great Eleanor." She says.

Stage five: Gala

"Welcome to the graduation of the Akuma class! We'll end with our validectorian, Eleanor Davis's Speech."

"This year was Great........"

Marinette's POV

I was sitting in the audience. Now's time for Elena's Speech.

"This year was Great. First I got to model for my Cous MDC. I have a special presentation for tonight. Everyone can you please pay attention." She says.

That's a slideshow of every little crime Lila did. Everyone Gasped by the end.

"This is the Two Faced Bitch Lila Rossi. Wanted in 7 countries. The police are here to arrest lila today." She says. WANTED in SEVEN countries!

"Why?!!! We could've ruled together?" Lila screeches.

"Because you hurt my Family." Elena says.

"But I never did anything to you or your Family!"

"Wrong! You hurt my Cousin MDC AKA Marinette Dupain Cheng."

Everyone of my classmates are being arrested.

I've never felt so good.

"This went better than we thought, Right marigold?"

Felix says as he presses a soft Kiss to my lips.

Miraculous Ladybug Season 4 Episode rankings (As of Optygami’s release)

ML season 4 has knocked it out of the park so far! It’s been absolutely amazing, and I’ve greatly enjoyed every episode.

That being said, some episodes have still been better than others (or have contained elements I find more appealing at least), so what better way to show that than with a ranking?

9. Queen Banana

We got a new hero this episode, and she is awesome! Vesperia and Chat have a nice little interaction, and while Vesperia gets taken out, it’s for a good reason - distracting Queen Banana so Ladybug can put glue in her pocket, disarming her. It was a really nice way of showing Zoe’s humility and ability for teamwork, even when it meant giving up the starring role, in order to complete the group’s overall goal.

The mini-movie felt like foreshadowing, what with the “Superheroine of Creation” being an obvious Ladybug expy, while the “Supervillain of Destruction” was a Chat Noir expy, though with fewer connections. Interestingly, it’s also used to parallel Zoe’s and Chloe’s relationship, with Zoe even quoting from the movie at the end.

And Andre’s character development was top-notch! Bully him around to do material things as much as you like, but hurting Zoe is off-limits. She’s Andre’s daughter too.

So why is it so low down? Simply put, it didn’t feel like it changed things as much as Sole Crusher did, nor did it showcase Marinette’s and Adrien’s relationship as much. It was good, but there was less to talk about concerning it than I thought there’d be.

8. Furious Fu

The first episode of Season 4 aired (even though it was episode 6 in production order), we got some lore drop this episode! Su Han gave us a better idea of what to expect from the Guardians and what their relationship with the kwamis had been like overall. Poor Plagg especially, he’s just treated like a bomb that could go off at any moment.

I especially liked seeing Ladybug and Chat Noir’s relationship this episode, and their differing reactions to Su Han and his proposals. Ladybug was insecure about not having defeated Hawkmoth yet and thought Su Han might have a point about the Miraculous being better in other hands, and for this to be something for the Guardians to handle.

Chat Noir meanwhile didn’t give a crap about Su Han’s authority, about this random guy who just showed up and tried to boss them around; but he DOES respect Ladybug’s, and made that known. That he’d give up his Miraculous, his ticket to freedom and also the vessel for one of his closest friends, Plagg, but only at LADYBUG’S request, not this dude.

But it also showed the limits of that, with him refusing to go along with even that when it’d mean that Ladybug would get amnesia. That he’d not only lose his Miraculous, but his closest, dearest friend as well.

The episode was well done, but just didn’t feel like it either changed things as much or showcased character development as much as the other entries on this list, which is why it’s lower.

7. Sole Crusher

This was our first look at a new character, Zoe, and she did not disappoint! She was absolutely adorable and I really felt for her, with needing to pretend to be nasty in order to not be practically disowned from her family.

It showcased how much Marinette had grown as well, with having Marinette see through Zoe’s Mean Girl act when they reunite and not jump to hasty negative conclusions, like she did with Adrien, instead considering that there may have been other factors involved with making Zoe act differently while with Chloe.

Also character exploration and growth for Andre, of all characters! Very unexpected. I really wanted him to succeed in his original dream, and I was thrilled at him comforting Zoe, with him empathizing with her, with acting as a parent towards her, even with her being his stepdaughter and presumedly not knowing her very well before this.

Zoe’s ability to anticipate how she’d need to act in order to conform with her family’s expectations while still getting to do what she wanted (for the most part), like with her pretending to be all prissy and stuck up when interacting with Audrey, or pretending that her messaging with Marinette was a setup to betray and humiliate her, showed a great understanding of the people around her as well as some great acting ability. And her realization of how she’d been putting on acts like this for so long before this, of her people-pleasing and afterwards attempting to just be herself, felt like foreshadowing for Adrien’s own arc.

And we got a few seconds of Marichat. Yay for crumbs!

6. Mr. Pigeon 72

This episode was PACKED. We got to see the followup to Gang of Secrets, with Ladybug freaking out and Alya trying to center her, as well as some followup to Lies, with Marinette trying to “help” Kagami get back together with Adrien. And on top of the stuff that forms the premise of the episode, we got to see Rena Rouge be badass again, Plagg and Ladybug team up, and even Umbrella scene 2, which I don’t think ANYONE saw coming!

Marinette was a lot of fun and we got to see some good stuff from Kagami and Alya here. It felt a little disjointed with how much was crammed into it and I missed Chat Noir, but overall it was really good!

5. Guiltrip

What an amazing episode! Rose is one of the least developed members of the class, mostly being known for being really sweet and being Juleka’s girlfriend, and not much else. Here, we got an inner look at her, at WHY she’s so positive, and how powerful that positivity can be. That she’s not innately positive just because, but that it’s a choice she makes.

Plus the class is AMAZING here. They care about their friends SO MUCH, even if they go about it the wrong way. We got to see Juleka and Rose caring about each other, and even though it went wrong, Rose understands why Juleka ended up spilling her secret and doesn’t blame her for it.

It also really showcased Marinette and Adrien, there different ways of dealing with serious issues, with Marinette jumping ahead and trying to do whatever she thinks will help immediately (help now, ask questions later) while Adrien tried to do the opposite, asking Juleka what she wanted first and trying to stick with that (ask questions first, then help). Both can be useful, depending on the circumstances.

Also got to see a bit more about Adrien’s turmoil, with him being borderline suicidal, and Nino feeling guilty that he wasn’t able to help Adrien with his father, hinting that something bad went down with Gabriel before this.

There was just a LOT to unpack with this episode, but it all fit together neatly!

4. Lies

All of the “Truth” related episodes were amazing! Lies being no exception. Also our first (and so far only) Adrien-centric episode this season.

Lies catapulted discussion of Adrien’s looming identity crisis, as well as his deflections and near-suicidal behavior, stuff that becomes even more apparent in Guiltrip. The breakup was handled well, with it not being Adrien’s fault (he had to leave and lie for the same reasons Marinette did), but with Kagami’s reaction being totally understandable and valid. She was a very active participant in it, even testing to see whether Adrien had lied. And she was ALLOWED to be pissed afterwards, to not trust him, even though she could tell that he wasn’t just doing this for no reason.

I wish we’d gotten more time with her as an akuma, but I can see why we didn’t. There just wasn’t that much time in the episode, and the emotional crux of the episode occurred between her and Adrien - there just wasn’t much she could do as an akuma that was gonna add much impact to the episode.

3. Optygami

Oh WOW did this episode make an impact. Major Wham episode in a season chockful of major revelations, status quo changes, and character progression.

Nathalie and Gabriel actually had a pretty clever plan, spying on the revealed wielders this whole time using the “one sentimonster per wielder, but there can be multiple sentimonsters from different wielders out at the same time” loophole. It meant that Nathalie was actually doing something while she was benched, and I’m willing to bet that she’s the one who came up with the plan in the first place. Say what you will about her morality or her taste in men, but she is an effective supervillain who may be an assistant (and totally fine with that role, which isn’t so common), but one with a lot of agency. And using impostors and try to force a situation where Ladybug would have to give a Miraculous to one of them, and using that opportunity to plant a spy sentimonster in a Miraculous in order to discover Ladybug’s identity and the location of the other Miraculous? Was inspired!

We were baited on there being a Reveal, but that wasn’t exactly a shocker. In any case, we did have a bunch of OTHER cool, impactful stuff.

Hawkmoth stepped up his game with his sentimonsters, making a couple of impostors to control the situation, with Senti Alec and Senti Nino. Seems like foreshadowing about there potentially being more sentimonsters in disguise...

The major developments everyone’s screaming about though, are:

1. Alya getting her Miraculous permanently, being the first “temporary” wielder to get that honor, and putting her in a greater position to help with any akuma that’s causing more trouble than usual.

2. And the one that’s gotten everyone theorizing, screaming, and writing fics: Chat Noir and Ladybug’s seemingly deteriorating relationship, with a special emphasis on how left out Chat is and just how much he’s being kept in the dark, and how he’s beginning to realize this, feeling unneeded. How much Chat’s hiding his hurt, and how that’s going to lead to some sort of emotional confrontation or breakdown down the line.

My ranking of Optygami may go up or down depending on whether future episodes follow through on what it sets up, especially with the foreshadowed Ladynoir confict.

Looks like we’re gonna have a hiatus after Optygami, considering that we don’t currently have airdates for any more episodes, but what a note to leave off on!

2. Truth

This episode was AMAZING. We got to see Luka and Marinette just hanging out casually, having fun together, like with the little trivia game they played on the way to the theater. Luka even showed a bit of a playful side, with setting up the last question so that the answer would end with “kiss me”.

Luka was also allowed to feel negative emotions for reasons aside from protecting Marinette, with him feeling down and a little abandoned because of Marinette constantly ditching - something that was given more context, with how we learned that he never knew his father, and how much it bothers him that his mom won’t tell him who it was.

The revelation of Jagged Stone being Luka’s father was one that’d already been leaked way back in January, though few people believed it at the time and it got little attention. It gave Luka a plotline that had nothing to do with Marinette, something that was sorely needed and one that I’m hoping gets expanded on later.

Also had some great Ladynoir, with Chat Noir and Ladybug discussing their relationship during the akuma fight, when they were forced to be truthful to boot! Ladybug really does like Chat’s sense of humor, and Chat doesn’t have a problem with Ladybug’s status as Guardian, so long as it doesn’t interfere with their relationship.

1. Gang Of Secrets

Gang of Secrets was a great followup to Truth, showing Marinette attempting to cope with with breakup, and the subsequent realization that she has to lie to everyone always, and how little time and trust that leaves for her regular relationships.

Meanwhile, the people around Marinette worry and try to help and comfort her as best they can, even when they don’t really know what’s wrong or what to do. From the Girl Squad to Chat Noir to... kind of the kwamis (though with them it’s more lack of understanding of romantic relationships rather than lack of knowledge that holds them back), everyone attempts to help her, but it’s just not feasible under the circumstances for her to be helped the way she needs to be while keeping her secrets.

And in order to keep those secrets, she snaps, forcing all her friends away.

But they don’t take that easily. They want to be there for Marinette, they want to be friends, and become akumatized specifically in order to find out what was wrong, comfort her, fix whatever it was, and become friends again. They really care for her a lot.

And then- AND THEN-!

ALYA DEAKUMATIZES HERSELF

BECOMES RENA ROUGE AGAIN

AND MARINETTE EVEN CONFESSES THAT SHE’S LADYBUG TO HER.

It’s one of the biggest changes to the status quo we’ve had. Like, Master Fu being introduced changed what Marinette was doing, meaning that they could call on new heroes and she had someone to discuss Miraculous stuff with besides Tikki, and Master Fu renouncing his Guardianship and passing it on to Marinette changed what Marinette was doing on a day-to-day basis more, but... well, it didn’t represent as big of a change in themes, of things that had been built up for seasons. Breaking the Secret Identity Rule? DOES.

Also sets up for some potential LadyNoir conflict down the line, with her not having told Chat that she told her identity to someone else yet. I’m sure they’ll be okay in the end, but it could test their relationship and the rules they’ve lived by since they started being superheroes.

So that’s my ranking with the episodes we’ve had released so far. We’re a third of the way through the season and I gotta say, I’m really happy with it so far! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.

Okay I know I’m late but since tumblr be thriiiiving this week in the ML fandom after these ✨huge & crazy✨ spoilers and that I finally have time to join the bandwagon in this sunny (/j) weekend I have decided to present my

Very (very!!) serious theories (/j /j /j) about the S4 spoilers of the week (very serious)

-by someone who’s unfunny and weird (<- that’s me)

So let’s start with the start in order:

1. Fu “surprise, I’m back 🏖es”

Okay so I have to say I did not expect to see him back so soon after leaving but hey old people can be kinda clingy I suppose.

I have three theories for that one:

Fu is a little prankster and Miracle Queen happened on the 1st of April

Fu had really lost his memories but since it’s Miraculous, the power of love always so strong, Marianne managed to get them back to him

London just somehow (???) stinks more than Paris in the ML universe so really they just decided French pigeons were cooler, actually, and akumas bearables

2. Ladybug & Chat Noir successive less than 1 second apparition but we saw Chat Noir so our heart is full anyway

Oh my god I can’t believe it this is HUGE!!!!!!!

We see Ladybug coming out of her trapdoor and the NEXT PANNEL is Chat Noir looking in awe.

You know what this means? YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?!

That’s right, Chat Noir saw Ladybug coming out of Marinette’s room IDENTITY REVEAL HE KNOWS IT’S HER THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!!!!!!!! 😱😱

I can’t believe we’re starting the season with a reveal oh my god I’m so excited, how are we feeling about that??

~The rest under “read more” oh la la this is crazy!!!~

3. The girls’ akumatisation and that weird summoning circle

Okay this one is tricky but do you remember the last time three of these girls were akumatised as their past akumatised selves?! That’s right, in Félix, or the day of Adrien’s mother disappearance.

If you ask me, with how they’re sitting in circle, it’s obvious that it’s a game of ouija turned wrong where they tried to communicate with Emilie so she could also participate to that video (they probably wanted to do a redo after the Félix shenanigans). Sadly, it failed so that’s why they got akumatised (because as we can also see they forgot to bring a ouija board, kind of the basis but whatever).

4. The beautiful apparition of the terrible all mighty Shadowmoth

So clearly Gabriel demonstrates once again that he cares so much about others’ well being since he’s ok to use the peacock miraculous himself instead of letting poor coughing Nathalie continuing to use it. (But only once it’s fixed though, there’s limits to his compassion!)

As many have pointed out, this new...design...looks a lot like a Zuko cosplay, and I think you’re not far from the truth when you say that. It sounds to me that Gabriel wants to go discreetly to a convention as Hawkmoth, pretending to be a Zuko cosplayer to akumatise someone there directly. Who knows, maybe he’ll meet Adrien who’ll think his dad is a good cosplayer. Or fail if hardcore fans point him out that the scar is on the wrong side.

Another thing I’m wondering is about the name “Shadowmoth” because clearly I don’t see how “shadow” is supposed to refer to the peacock miraculous. Then again, Cockmoth was probably not edgy enough and he maybe didn’t want Nathalie to get any wrong ideas, which I can understand.

5. That weird monk dude

...Is clearly a dog person.

That might create some conflicts with Chat Noir though.

He also stole Gandalf’s sceptre and put the heart of Kandrakar on top apparently. It will also be revealed to have an Excalibur tip at the end as seen in this screenshot:

6. The absence of Adrien’s pictures in Marinette’s room

OKAY OKAY.

I’m sure everyone has noticed that but... DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS????

It means

IT MEANS!!!

...That Adrien is going to visit Marinette VERY SOON (or just left Idk) so she had to clean up all her room!!!!!

AAAAH sooo exciting!!! I don’t know if it’s to work on a school project or to hang out but wow that’s gonna be awesome!! Maybe it’s linked to my analysis above in which Chat Noir discovers Ladybug’s identity? 🤔 Maybe he wants to confront her about it? No matter what, this is such a great news!! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰

7. The absence of Adrien in the trailer

Marinette *panicing*: This doesn't make any sense. How can we be family? I was born on Earth! My parents were born on Earth! I'm an Earthling!

Damian gently grabbing Marinette by the shoulder: Angel I know this is a difficult time for you right now, but we need to focus of the mission right now, okay? Let's grab the miraculous and get back to Alfea, then we can all freak out about you and Jason being related there. Okay, Angel?

Marinette: Okay

Jason: Okay! We can have a big freak out party together with your parents, Bruce, and Alfred. Can't forget the brothers and our friends either! We can all have a mental breakdown together!

Marinette: Sounds fun!

Jason went over the the chest and opens it revealing a pair of red and black Polk a dot earrings

Jason: It looks like the Ladybug earrings. Let's head home guys.

As the fairies and specialists press the buttons to head home they all had one thought in their minds

If Marinette and Jason were family what did that mean for their quest for the Miraculous?

After a nice long freak out session between everybody over the apparent relation between Jason and Marinette they gathered in Ms. Faragonda's office to tell her what they had learned on Miracul

Faragonda: Then it seems what I feared has come to pass. I must call Bruce, Alfred, and the rest of the old Miraculous holders

Jason: Wait why?

Marinette: You used to be a Miraculous holder?

Faragonda: all questions will be answered in due time once everybody is here

Faragonda sent out the call to the surviving ex miraculous holders who came right away

Alfred, Fu, and Mariam gathered in Faragonda's office along with Bruce and Jon's dad Clark who was in charge of the Justice League, a group that formed to keep peace in the magix dimensions after the fall of Miracul

Faragonda: Thank you for joining us. As you know the Miraculous have resurfaced and with them the Dark Coven

Fu: We have heard of the attacks we have also heard of the brave students who are working the gather them. *Fu gestures the the young fairies and specialists* I assume these are those brave students

Dick raising his hand: I'm actually a teacher

Alfred: Yes Master Dick and we're all very proud of you

Dick now resembles and happy golden retriever

Faragonda: Yes these are the young people who have been gathering the Miraculous. So far they've found 5 Miraculous, the Fox, the Turtle, the Rabbit, the Mouse, and most importantly the Ladybug

Mariam: That's wonderful! If only we had the Black Cat and a member of the royal family then we could use them to pull the rest of the Miraculous to them

Faragonda: We might have 2 members of the royal family with us in this room. Jason and Marinette can you please stand up here with me

Jason and Marinette stood side by side in front of the crowd of adults

Faragonda: We've been working under the assumption that Jason was just a lucky citizen of Miracul that was able to escape it's destruction, but the Miraculous call out to him. And Marinette gained her Enchantix by saving Jason's life that means their family. I've had this feeling for a long time. Look closely at these two, who do they remind you of?

Alfred was nodding his head looking at the two as if he's seeing them in a new light

Miriam gasped, covering her mouth and tears weld up in her eyes

Fu was the one to put everybody thoughts into words

Fu: They look so much like Queen Clarisse and King Roland

Faragonda: We've been living under the assumption that the Dark Ones were smart enough to get rid of the royal heirs before the attack, but what if they weren't. What if young Prince Jason took his sister Princess Marinette to the portal room and was able to escape the planet but got separated along the way. One ending up in Gotham the other on Earth.

Alfred: That would explain a lot. When Master Jason first joined us at the Manor he use to have terrible nightmares about failing to protect somebody

Fu: To bad we don't also have the ring of the Black Cat then they could call forth the rest of the Miraculous using the Miraculous box

Miriam: But the box was lost along with Miracul

Faragonda: But we might be able to find it if we also had the Black Cat

Marinette: Is the Ring of of Black Cat black with a green paw print on it?

Fu: Yes it is. How did you know that Marinette?

Marinette was hesitant, but the voice inside her head said it was alright to show them the ring

Marinette reaching into her pocket: Last year during our final exam I was assigned Miracul as the dead planet I had to bring back. During the test i head a voice call me into a cave where I found this. The voice told me to keep it hidden and not to let anybody know that I had it

Marinette pulled out the ring from her pocket showing it to the people in the room

Fu: That is indeed the Black Cat Miraculous

Jason: Why didn't you tell us about it soon Marinette?

Marinette: I was scared what it meant if the Miraculous was really calling to me as well. If that means my parents weren't really my parents. If that somehow changed my relationship with them.

Fu walked over to the girl that reminded him so much of his dear friends and put a hand on her shoulder

Fu: Marinette I may not know you or your family, but if your parents took you in and raised you for the last 16 years then you finding out that you are adopted will have no change on the relationship you have with them. Unless you let it effect it

Faragonda: It is time for you two to claim you birthright as the wielders of the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous

Jason and Marinette stared at eachother thinking over what Faragonda had just said

Marinette: But what if you're wrong? Didn't you say that anybody who wasn't the royal family or the Dark Coven would die if they but on the Miraculous

Faragonda: I'm not wrong. I've already seen you use the power of the Black Cat once before during the Scarecrow's attack on the school

Jason grabbing the Ladybug earrings: I'm in if you are Pixie Pop

Marinette tightened her grip on the ring: Let's do it or die trying

Adrien: Wow wow wow, there is no reason for either of you to die

Damian: Yeah I have to agree with Agreste let's try to not kill my girlfriend, Todd.

Jason with one earring already in: Yeah yeah yeah, don't worry Demon Spawn. I'm not going to lose my sister again.

As Jason slipped the last earring onto his ear and Marinette place the ring on her finger to balls of light came put of the jewelry and floated in front of the reunited siblings

The one in front of Jason formed into a ladybug looking creature and the one in front of Marinette formed into what looked like a small cat

Plagg stretching: Aahg finally! You know kid you could have put my miraculous on a long time ago. Your my kitten you got to get a little bit more curious then that

Marinette: Oh I'm sorry...

Plagg: Plagg Kwami of Destruction you got any cheese?

Marinette: Not on me but I'm sure we can go to the kitchen after this

Plagg: It'll have to do

Plagg flew over Marinette and landing on her head and looked every bit like an old house cat lounging on their owner

While this was happening Jason was meeting his own Kwami

Tikki: Hello Jason! I'm Tikki the kwami of creation! I remember you when you were just a little boy! You used to love chasing us around!

Jason: I remember you! You were my mom's kwami!

Tikki: Clarisse was a great Ladybug, but I know you'll do her proud!

Bruce didn't want to interrupt the found family's moment but they need to get this meeting back on track

Bruce: Since Jason and Marinette can wield the Miraculous does that mean they can summon the rest of the Miraculous right now

Fu shook his head: They would need the Miraculous box to do that and sadly we know for certain is in the hands of the Dark Coven

Marinette: But we can choose new wielders of the Miraculous right?

Alfred: That is correct

Jason: But we don't have enough Miraculous for everyone

Alya: Don't worry about that!

Rose: Yeah we all have Enchantix

Alix: This Dark Coven members have no chance against us in those forms

Juleka nodded her head in agreement

Marinette: Then let's give them to the Specialists. I love you guys but you don't have the same protections as the fairies. You'll be safer with the Miraculous

Jon: You guys don't have to worry about us we're Specialist. We are train to go into dangerous situations like this

The other boys go to agree with Jon, but Jason interrupts them

Jason: She's right boys, but we'll need to find 1 more so each of you can get one

Fu: If you two transform using the miraculous you'll be able to focus on a certain Miraculous and track it. I suggest the Dragon Miraculous it's one of the most powerful, besides the Cat and Ladybug

Jason: Let's do this Marinette

Marinette: Let's find that Miraculous

Tikki: Great! Jason all you have to do is say Spots On

Plagg: Kitten all you have to say is claws out

Jason: Tikki Spots On!

Marinette: Plagg Claws Out!

Jason now work what looked like the classic prince outfit with a red and black color scheme

While Marinette wore a tea length Princess Dress with a Black and Green color scheme with black cat ears on top of her head and black lace fingerless gloves covering her palms

Damian stared at his stunning girlfriend

Adrien was watching him with a smug smile

Adrien: Damian you might want to wipe that dwell off your chin

Damian quickly wiped his face only to find no dwell

Damian glaring at Adrien: Shut Up!

Jon: Don't tell him to shut up

Adrien: Yeah don't tell me to shut up

Marinette: I got it! It's like I can see the Miraculous itself!

Jason: Yeah it's on Salerios hidden in the royal garden

Clark: The League will call a head to the King and get him to allow us access

Bruce: We leave in an hour

And before the day was up the fairies and the Specialists had the Dragon Miraculous in their hands

Jason: Awesome with the Miraculous we have and you fairies' Enchantix the Dark Coven ont stand a chance

Tikki: And if you get the rest of the Miraculous and the Miraculous Box we can restore Miracul to it's former glory

Adrien: That'll mean you'll be a real life princess Marinette

Alya: With all the responsibilities that comes with it!

Alix: Like meetings with royals fron other planets and-

As her friends discussed Marinette's future everything really hit Marinette

It finally sunk in that her whole life was a lie

What if she wouldn't be able to see her parents any more

What if she couldn't be with Damian any more

What if she destroyed her planet like the Dark Coven did

Marinette: Hey guys I'm going to turn in for the day

Damian frowning: Are you okay Angel?

Marinette: Yeah I just need some rest after this hectic day

Jason: Are you sure Pixie Pop?

Marinette: Yeah I'm sure Goodnight

When Marinette went to her room she didn't feel any better

She knew what she had to do so she wrote a note to let her friends knew she was okay and headed to the portal room

Marinette stood in front of her parents backery gathering courage for what she was about to do

Tom and Sabine was closing for the night when their daughter rushed into the store

Tom: Marinette?

Sabine: What are you doing here sweetheart

Marinette couldn't help it and blurted out what she had learned

Marinette: I know I'm adopted!

In Which There’s Cheese

Trigger or Squick warning: Man has done some messed up stuff in the pursuit of perfect cheese. And what is cheese but moldy, rotten milk? This chapter contains some very foul and nasty descriptions of actual cheese that people eat. So if eating rotting food makes you uncomfortable, best skip to the end of this chapter.

(Spoiler: Plagg gives Lila really gross cheese. She eats it, and has to run out of the room to vomit.)

“—so the best way to level up is to get a skill up to 100, and then legendary it back down to 15, so then you can use the skill perks on another ability that’s harder to level up. That’s where I’m at right now. I’m on level 106 and trying to fill up all my skill trees by using smithing, speech, enchanting, lock picking, and blocking.”

Day three of Lila’s torment, and there was presumably no end in sight.

Had she known from the beginning that Adrien Agreste was this big of a nerd and completely socially inept, she wouldn’t have talked to him at all.

Funny how people looked less attractive the more annoying they got.

And she had tried. She had sincerely tried to get him to shut up. She told him, “I’m sorry Adrien, I’m just not that interested in this video game.”

“Well, you’ve just never played it before! You should come over this weekend—no, actually, I think we should go to your place. When you aren’t grounded anymore. Your mom seemed to really like me!”

Of course she did. Her mother likes anyone who’s a ‘good influence’ on her precious baby. And nothing like Paris’ golden boy to fill that bubble.

Her mom probably preferred that Adrien was so naïve and oblivious.

The bell rang for lunch, and Lila was up and out of her seat without another word. She was tired of the games. Skyrim, Magic: The Gathering, and trying to salvage a friendship with the dumb blond. But Adrien usually ate lunch at home or with Marinette, at least he had been, so lunch was her time to recharge! She’d take her place in the throne room that was the cafeteria and have everyone’s attention. With an hour of that, she could certainly put up with whatever Adrien had to tell her the next half of the day.

In the cafeteria, most seats were taken. The two open seats were at a table with Alya, Nino, and Marinette. Of course Lila wasn’t thrilled with Marinette, but she’d leave eventually, and someone else would hear her tales and come to sit with them.

“Hey guys! Do you mind if I sit with you?” Lila smiled, all friendly-like.

“Not at all, Lila, take a seat!” Alya welcomed.

Marinette and Nino kept their poker faces as she sat down.

“So Alya, I had this amazing idea for an article for the Ladyblog, and I bet I could get some quotes from Ladybug for it too.”

“Or really?” Alya squealed. “That would be amazing! So what’s the idea?”

“Basically—“

“WHO WANTS SOME CHEESE?!” Plagg sang as he took his spot in the last remaining seat, right next to Lila.

She wanted to die.

“Cheese?” Said Nino, intrigued.

“Yeah! I have been dying to give you guys a cheese tasting, and wouldn’t you know it? All my best buds are all together! So it’s perfect!”

Lila cautiously relaxed. Cheese tastings were just as fancy as wine tastings. Maybe this would be a break and a peek into Adrien’s refinement. She could handle this.

“Okay, so for you three,” Plagg gestured to Nino, Alya, and Marinette, “I have some more...beginner cheeses. They’re still extremely tasty, but more mild for a less refined palette.”

“You calling me unrefined?” Nino glared.

“I see what you eat. And yes.”

“Touché.”

“And for you, Lila, you mentioned that two weeks ago, you had dinner with Wolfgang Puck himself. I assumed you could handle more advanced cheeses.”

Advanced cheeses? “Oh, well, yes of course. I’ve done a few cheese tastings before. Maybe not with the same quality of cheeses as you have...”

“Then this will be a walk in the park.” He unzipped the lunchbox he had brought with him, and handed out three orange cubes to the ‘beginners’. “Alright, so first, we have a whiskey cheddar. Whiskey is fermented in oak barrels that can only be used once. So they’re sold to beer, coffee, and cheese makers. The cheese is stored in the barrels and the remnants of the whiskey seep in and give it almost a spicy flavor.”

They all took a bite, chewing thoughtfully, humming in content.

“Oh wow, I think I can taste the whiskey! That’s really good!”

“I’d put this on crackers and eat a whole box! This is really good!”

“I’m not a huge fan of cheddar,” stated Marinette, “but maybe I just haven’t been trying the right stuff, because this is awesome!”

“I’m glad you like it!” Plagg beamed. “And for Lila,” he opened a container and a smell emanated immediately. It smelled like rotten armpit. “This is finely aged Limburger, aged to three months. It’s imperative that you take in the scent of the cheese first, before eating it. Don’t waft it, just breathe it in.”

Lila took the offered container, sparing it a withering glance before she inhaled.

If her face could have melted off, it would have.

“It…smells like rotten feet.”

“Ah yes, Brevibacterium linens. This is a smear-washed cheese that gets a fresh coating of bacteria that prevents mold and helps the maturing process. As a food connoisseur, you’re getting the peak time of maturity. I usually let it mature longer than this still, so it gets really runny, like camembert~…” At the very name, Plagg moaned in a way that was inappropriate for young ears. He cleared his throat. “Sorry, I got swept away in the moment. Oh right! Limburger, you eat it with your nose. Take another whiff!”

“I’m good.”

“Another whiff I say!”

Lila inhaled, and her whole body shuddered.

“Perfect. Now you can eat it.”

She popped the sample in her mouth, and swallowed quickly, shuddering the whole time.

“Good?”

“Hmm mmm…”

“Oh! I forgot to mention, the bacteria that that cheese is smeared with is the same that grows on your feet, that’s what makes the cheese stink!”

Lila made a face of disgust and turned a little green.

“Great! Round two!” He placed little samples in front of the other three first. “Okay, so this is a little more advanced. This is scamorza, which is much like Mozzarella, but it has a distinct smokey flavor. I think it tastes kind of like wood fired pizza.”

“It does!” Nino cried, savoring each little nibble. “Oh my god this is so good!”

Alya took a bit of tomato out of her sandwich and ate that with the cheese. “Oh, that is just like wood fired pizza. I’d love to try this warm! You have to get more of this!”

Plagg grinned. “And you, Marinette?”

Marinette was still chewing, and just nodded with closed eyes and a contented sigh.

“Awesome! I personally think scamorza is too mild, but it’s still very good. So for Lila I have another advanced taste.” He took out another sealed container and popped the lid. The smell wasn’t as brutal as the Limburger, but it was still potent. “This is Casu Marzu, a Sardinian delicacy. So it should sound familiar to you, since you’re from Italy and all. It’s made from sheep’s milk. Oh! And it’s illegal, so this sample is from a ‘friend’ who will not be named.”

Lila held the container a little away from her face and peered at it with hesitation. Her lip curled up in disgust, before she gave Plagg an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, Adrien. It looks like this cheese has gone bad.” And she pushed the container back towards him.

He looked in it. “It looks fine to me. They’re alive. That’s a good thing.”

“Adrien, those are maggots.”

“Cheese fly maggots, to be exact,” he corrected. “They’re introduced to the cheese to help break down the fat in the milk.” He pushed the container back in front of her. “I mean, it’s not any more gross than escargot, or caviar, or grasshopper, or tequila worms, you know?”

She looked back at the worms, her lip trembling. “This is a delicacy?”

“Of course! I wouldn’t bring bad cheese in for a laugh.” He took out a spoon and scooped out a little cheese, worms and all, and spread it on a piece of flatbread. Then he ate it. “Ohhh that’s good!”

“I…” She cast one more look at the container and confessed, “I’m sorry Adrien. I just can’t do it. It’s too gross for me.”

“Oh,” said Plagg, with genuine sadness in his voice. “Okay I guess...anyone else want to try?”

Marinette, who was always looking for a chance to show up Lila, offered up, “I’ll give it a try.”

Plagg’s eyes widened with glee. “You will?!”

“Sure. Even if it’s gross, I can say I tried it. Not everyday you get to eat illegal cheese. And you ate some, afterall.”

“Yes! I promise it’ll be worth it! You just have to thoroughly chew it to kill the maggots.”

Marinette scrunched up her nose. “Can I...kind of eat around the worms?”

“You can try.”

So to Marinette’s credit, she did eat some of the cheese, though it was picked through, and she scraped what she could off with a knife. Then she spread a little on a larger piece of bread, more bread than cheese obviously, then chewed her sample thoroughly.

“Well?” Asked Plagg, bouncing in his seat. “I think it’s kind of like Camembert and Gorgonzola had a baby. A rotten, decaying baby.”

“Mmm hmmm.” Marinette nodded, her lips shut tight. Once she swallowed, she downed a huge swig of her water, swishing around in her mouth first.

“That bad, huh?” Asked Alya.

“No no, it actually tasted really really good. And I couldn’t feel the worms or anything. I just couldn’t get over the idea that they were there. You know?”

“It’s scary!” Plagg assured. “I know it freaked me out when I was a kid, but if it wasn’t worth it, they wouldn’t make it!”

“You’re wicked brave, Marinette.” Nino patted her on the back.

She chuckled. “Alright. Do you have any more samples so I can cleanse my palette?”

“Oh yep! Last round!” He set out three more samples. “So this is Cantal. It’s from Cantal, France, obviously. And it’s often thought of as a dessert cheese, as it’s got a sort of spicy sweet taste, or like hazelnuts. Oh, and you’ll want to eat it with these apple slices. This is a young wheel, only two months old.”

Contented hums filled the air as the three munched on the sweet, buttery, fruity delight.

Plagg felt extremely pleased that he convinced Adrien’s friends to eat cheese. And he was especially proud of Marinette for eating the best, most amazing cheese of all time. If casu marzu wasn’t an absolute pain to get ahold of, and if it were more portable, he’d demand Adrien to get him that instead of Camembert.

But, as it was, they had to go with more convenient cheeses.

“I think I’m all cheesed out...” said Lila.

“Dude, you only actually had one sample. You can’t bow out now!”

At this point, especially after the maggots, a small crowd had assembled around the table to observe the tasting. And if anyone would cave under peer pressure, it was Lila.

“Well, I suppose I could try one more...”

“Perfect! Because this last sample is really special!” He placed the little white flecked square in front of her. “This is my take on pepper jack cheese.”

“Wait, you made this?” She asked.

“Yep! I figured that if I love eating cheese so much, I should make my own!”

“So what’s it made of?” Lila asked, hesitant.

“You have to guess! I want to see if you can guess the milk and the pepper. It’s part cow milk, obviously, but I wanted a different flavor that you don’t get with most semi hard cheeses.”

“And there’s no bugs in it?”

Plagg laughed. “Nope, no bugs!”

Feeling a bit better, Lila brought the sample up to her mouth. The smell was subtle, a little spicy, a little milky. Not at all like the last two.

She bit the sample in half, and chewed thoughtfully. “It’s...kind of sweet...but the spice is...” she blinked a few times, her face turning red and eyes watering. “It’s hot. It’s really hot!” She ate the other half, and then regretted it. “Ugh! I shouldn’t have done that!” She swallowed and downed her little carton of milk, but the heat wouldn’t leave. It kept getting worse and worse!

“What did you put in there?! What was that?!”

Plagg looked confused. “It’s really that spicy?”

“My mouth hurts!! It hurts to talk!”

“All it is is Carolina Reaper and Breast Milk.”

Lila was up and out like a bolt, running to the bathroom to hurl.

Marinette likewise, had to leave the room, as her uproarious laughing at Lila’s suffering would have looked really bad.

Lila didn’t return to class immediately. In fact, it was two periods later when she finally returned. Her face was flushed and her eyes bloodshot, and she had a wet spot on her shirt. Before everyone settled in, she claimed Adrien’s old seat, right up front.

“Sorry,” she croaked, her voice hoarse after retching so much. “Vomiting usually exacerbates my tinnitus. I hope you don’t mind if I sit up front, Adrien.”

Nino answered, “oh dude, you can have my spot. That way you and Adrien can still sit together!”

Lila’s eyes widened slightly in horror, but before she could protest, Alya slid into the spare seat. She was unfortunately not in on the plan, and was picking up all the blatant body language Plagg was ignoring. “I think Lila needs a little girl time, after her rough lunchtime experience.”

Marinette silently scooted over into Alya’s spot, so that Plagg could sit right behind Lila. It wasn’t ideal, but it would work. Nino gave them both a silent thumbs up and took the open spot in the back of the room.

Lila let out a sigh of relief.

“You okay, girl?” Alya asked.

“Yeah.” She said shortly. Lila was done with the day. She would have gone home if she thought her mom would believe the cheese story, but as it was, she was already in hot water. She just needed to make it through the last two periods, and she’d be okay. Maybe she could convince her mom that she was sick and stay home tomorrow? I would be worth a try. She just needed some time away from Adrien. He was much too much.

As if reading her mind, Plagg leaned forward in his seat and spoke softly to her. “So I wanted to tell you about Stalhrim. It’s a material they added in the DLC, and you can learn how to craft with it, but it’s triggered by a quest. The first time I played the game, the person who was supposed to give the quest was killed by a lurker. Hold on, let me backup, so there are these huge monoliths call Standing Stones, and they all give you special abilities, like the Steed Stone let’s you carry things and the Apprentice Stone lets you learn magic quicker—“

As he talked, Lila’s fingers curled into the surface of the desk. His words didn’t even make any sense anymore, it was just this droning sound that wouldn’t stop.

“So in the DLC, the stones are totally different, right? And there’s this bad dude named Miraack and he’s also a Dragonborn. You remember what a Dragonborn is, right? Except this one is bad and he’s brainwashing the people on the island of Solstheim. Oh right, the whole DLC takes place on a separate island—“

The whole two weeks had been a camel. And each little rant or pushed boundary Adrien forced was another piece of straw piling up. Just then, it was like that fragile spine snapped, and something in Lila went from ‘playing the long game’ to ‘MURDER’.

“SHUT UP!” Lila screamed, pounding her fists on the table. “OH MY GOD JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!” She stood and whirled around to glare at him. “Adrien, you are the single most obnoxious person I have ever met! You just don’t know when to shut up! Are you dense? Are you retarded? How can you not see that I literally cannot give a flying eff about anything you say?! I was trying to be your friend because I thought it would be an easy way to fame. Then I felt sorry for you because of how awkward you are. Now? It’s not worth it. It’s not worth pretending to think you’re interesting when you aren’t. It’s not worth trying to ease back and deal with everyone wondering what happened. Everyone in class would wonder why we weren’t talking anymore, and I’d have to come up with more lies to get away from you, and I just don’t want to deal with that! You’re not worth it, okay? You are so selfish and annoying! Is this why your dad kept you home schooled all your life? Because he needs to lock you right back up! You are a menace!” She swung back around for a moment to gather her belongings. “I can’t even be in the same room as you anymore. I’m so done with you and your stupid rants about stupid video games! And what kind of weirdo is that obsessed with cheese?! You ate maggots for Christ sake! You’re disgusting! If you weren’t attractive, I bet your father would have regretted having you, if he hasn’t already!” She moved to the door quickly. “I’m asking to change classes, effective immediately. I suggest everyone run while you still can!” Then she caught Marinette’s eye. “Listen, I dislike you almost as much as him, but you don’t want him, Marinette. He’s an absolute freak. Look at him! He’s wearing that stupid ramen themed sweat suit! You know what? Forget it! I’m out!” And she left, slamming the door behind her.

No one had the nerve to speak after she left. It was just too big of a can of worms, no one wanted to open it.

The silence was broken by a high pitched whine, followed by a sob.

Though Marinette knew it was Plagg faking it, the sight of tears on Adrien’s face made her heart hurt.

“Oh Adrien...”

“You still like me, right Marinette?” He blubbered.

She hugged him. “Of course, Adrien. I love you.”

That seemed to be the words to break the spell and the classmates descended on him like vultures.

“You’re not annoying, Adrien!” Someone protested.

“You’re the coolest!”

“I love talking video games with you!”

“That cheese testing was really fun!”

“Who cares if you struggle with social cues? We all do! You do better than most, even for being homeschooled!”

“Lila admitted she was in the friendship for fame, her opinion doesn’t matter!”

Marinette whispered in his ear. “Nicely done, but I was not expecting that blow up.”

“Thanks, I was hoping she’d crack soon. That was just as violent as I had expected of her.”

“You okay? Those look like genuine tears.”

Plagg wiped his face as the rest of the class started to back off. “I’m okay,” he whispered. “Just hurts to hear someone be so cruel to my kitten.”

He glanced at the ring, hoping to see the final pad gone, and the one minute wait to switch back initiated.

But alas, no. The third pad was still there.

Lila wasn’t finished yet.

What-if for Season 4

So at the end of season 3’s episode “Ladybug” we see that Adrien "asking” Lila to get Marinette back in school and what not. Words are spoken and wow just look at how they’re spoken:

That line right there! Okay so I watched this episode in English and in [Latin American] Spanish and wow the way that line is spoken. Both voice actors really conveyed how Adrien would channel his anger. It’s not an emotion we really got to see in Adrien before but in both languages the barely contained anger is something I feel is in line with what we know about Adrien who controls and is conscious of his emotions. It got me thinking about how passive aggressive this boy really is and man oh man how I wish that it get’s worked into season 4. Passive aggressive Adrien Agreste vs. resident liar/manipulator Lila Rossi. Yaaaas sign me up.

Hopefully, this side of him is explored next season and we can finally give Adrien some rivals who can help us explore his character a little more. This ending suggests that Lila is completely in Adrien’s danger radar and he’ll be in Protect Marinette Mode (similar to his Protect Ladybug Mode). In fact, the scene pictured above aligns with his self-sacrificial tendencies that he has as Chat Noir. Lots of people have mentioned that agreeing to the photoshoot is him selling his soul, but he also establishes that he won’t ever have a genuine friendship with Lila. Bring on the war!

I personally think that Adrien, who we know isn’t too confrontational, will take a subtle approach. And how can he do that? Well, he could channel his inner actor where he can certainly play the part of “friend” while simultaneously working to discredit Lila.

Like you can not tell me that Adrien, who’s enrolled in a bunch of activities, was not enrolled in acting classes at some point in his homeschooled life. His mom was an actress, so it’s not like his parents would be against the idea of acting lessons. He was even the VA for his own superhero persona in canon’s LB+CN movie lmaoooo. Yes, he’s a model and very much loved by the people of Paris so perhaps being chosen for the role isn’t too surprising, but that also doesn’t mean he has no talent or training for it. Let’s be real, modeling could be the compromise to his parents wanting their son to follow in their footsteps. Modeling is the fashion from his dad and the art of perfecting his facial expressions from his mom.

And like even if acting lessons were never a thing, his mom was around in his life. We know basically nothing about the woman, so really we can speculate that she showed Adrien a thing or two about acting. Let’s say it was through her that Adrien learned to be expressive, to be not expressive, and to be anywhere in between. His mom could have taught him to roll with what life has to offer through ad libs and improv. Adrien we’ve seen to have a dramatic flair as both Adrien and Chat Noir, and he honestly controls his temper waaaay better than we give him credit. Sure he makes mistakes, but really he’s human and he does learn from them (now if only the writing could keep character development for its characters but yeeaaaah).

Here’s a scenario where Adrien can start his stop Lila campaign:

Adrien and Lila are interviewed about the recent shoot and you know questions roll around about how was it working with together, they’re classmates right, are the two dating, yada yada

Adrien answering and not even trying to let Lila get the first word in because the boy is on high alert and knows this girl will try to spin it in her favor

“Oh, it was surprising my father even thought of letting one of my classmates model with me. In fact, I didn’t even know Lila was interested in modeling. Still, it was interesting to work with someone new to the field.”

Which on the surface seems like an ordinary, polite response; appropriate of Adrien but it’s also everything Adrien needs to corner Lila.

In all of three sentences Adrien says he played no part in making the photoshoot happen, effectively shuts down the possibility of dating Lila, and establishes to the public that Lila is nothing more than a classmate, one he doesn’t even know well.

Lila is annoyed but she’s not giving up because she’s under the impression that Adrien is far too agreeable and spineless therefore she writes him off as Not a Threat

Hahahaha jokes, Adrien plays on people underestimating him

“Well, I didn’t want you to think that I wanted to make it seem like I was using you because we’re friends and friends don’t do that.”

Or something along those lines I dunno

“That’s the great thing about our class everyone is so nice that we can all be friends. Lots of us are so creative and I love getting to know everyone. Nathaniel, Lila’s desk mate, is a great artist; sketching, painting, he’s your guy. He’s currently working on a superhero comic with Marc from the other class and I can’t wait for what else they come up with for the sequel. Ivan, who sits in front of Nathaniel, he’s a rockin’ drummer, and Rose, she’s another one of our classmates, killer voice and awesome lyrics. Her best friend, Juleka plays bass and I’ve actually modeled with her before. Nothing official, but since I know Juleka wants to be a model I honestly thought she was going to be the one I was modeling with for this shoot. Sure it wasn’t a huge shoot, but Juleka did such a great job. And the clothes we modeled were made by our everyday Ladybug, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Marinette, she’s also our class rep by the way, is such a brilliant designer! Did you know that she actually won one of my father’s contests? Her hat was adored by Audrey Bourgeois AND she was offered the chance to move to New York. And you know…”

Basically, Adrien ends up spending the rest of the interview talking about how much he knows about his friends and “gee it’s such a shame I don’t really know much about you Lila.”

Read: you aren’t special, I have more friends, and I actually pay attention to them.

Bonus point: Alec is the one who interviews them and he picks up on Lila becoming more and more frustrated with Adrien.

Pretty in character for him to poke the bear *cough* Stormy Weather *cough* so for him to let Adrien take the reins of the interview for the sake of drama isn’t that much of a stretch.

Alec: What about Lila?

Adrien: I don’t know, I really don’t want to get anything wrong so she can answer

The next day, the interview is the only thing anyone can talk about

Adrien’s classmates gushing about how sweet Adrien is because he literally showed them that he really cares about them.

Adrien remembering all this information about all of them and hyping everyone up on TV!!

Friends know each other’s dreams and likes and dislikes and Adrien isn’t known to have lots of free time, but him making the effort to remember all that about each person is flattering to the class

Let Adrien show how much he appreciates and admires his friends pleeeeeeease

Lila can be in the background plotting how to paint Adrien in a bad light

But uhhh the class is going full Protect This Precious Boy at this point so your plan has to be fool-proof Lila

Bonus point: the class is now more sus of Lila after the whole Marinette-got-expelled-and-then-unexpelled (which is still fresh in their minds).

No one get’s an expulsion reversed unless they’re innocent

And dude Lila was in the middle of that whole mess.

Whatever Lila did shows she has the power to get any of them expelled.

If the kids aren’t at least wary of Lila in season 4, then the writers really be tripping because too many red flags around Lila for people to just wave them off.

In other news, Marinette starts to trend after enough of Adrien’s fans connect the dots that she’s the same girl who they chased around that time she and Adrien went to the movies

If the majority of Parisians weren’t convinced they were dating back then, oh boy they at least ship it by this point hahahaha
