Help my dad not be literally toothless

Hello, i hate to do this so relatively soon after quite a few generous people on here pretty much saved me from being in trouble with my university, but, right now, I'm making this post to ask for some help in giving my dad some of his confidence and life back.

When my dad was very young he fell down a wall and on his head and was in a 3 week long coma, turns out though that this had some very nasty long term consequences for his jaw. This fall coupled with the fact that he is a smoker (he is doing his best to stop and I'm very proud of his progress rn) has caused at least 97% of his teeth to fall out over the years.

This is obviously not just an aesthetical problem (no matter what the health system here says) it is also slowly but steadily sapping him of his health because he can't eat properly, and also of his confidence since ya know he is just 52 years old. He is mortified of leaving the house except to go to work and he is so so skinny it's pretty sad to look at.

All this to say that I am making this post in an attempt to help him get at least some new teeth on his lower jaw, since that's where he has none right now. The whole procedure to replace ALL of his upper and lower teeth is so frighteningly expensive that there is no way it would ever happen, so any help in getting him those lower teeth would mean the world to me, my mom and most all to my dad.

interesting how often the ones claiming that galadriel's season 2 arc was perfect and everyone who doesn't think so is just too haladriel brainrotted or something are the same folks who openly say it's fine if she were to just... fade into the background in season 3 or disappear outright. sorry I actually do think it's sexist for galadriel to be introduced as the central protagonist only for her to be gradually phased out so that gil-galad and elendil or elrond or whichever legendarium dude can have more to do.

Happy Wednesday! My arthritis is finally calming down from my normal "the seasons changed and now you must be in pain" flare up so I've been able to put in work on this sleeve. ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ

I've been limiting my amount of rows at one time to 10 ish, taking a couple hours to play a certain video game, then coming back to knit a couple more rows. It's working pretty well for me tbh, tho I keep accidentally ignoring my alarms (esp late at night when i'm gayming... but I'm fine with it this cardigan doesn't have a deadline lmao)

But I'm nearly 70% done with this sleeve!! When I'm finished, I'll cast on for the back which is going to take. Eighty seven years to knit. I've come down on 24 inches for my under the arm length which isn't the longest cardigan but should bring it down to just above my knee, assuming my math is correct for once. I've also decided to have the pocket opening 9 inches from the cast on (or 15 inches from the opening to the pocket to the underarm) which seems like it would be a good place for my hands?

Even if I didn't change the length of this cardigan, I would still be doing math right now to figure out the pocket because it's just. Too small. It's only supposed to be 5 inches deep which isn't enough for anything. (I also need to knit the pocket linings but I'm putting it off because Math.... the yarn I have for them isn't that much thinner than the main yarn but I probably should knit them with a tighter tension)

okay im gonna get off of steve and tom wolf hall parallels but i can't get over the whole father parallel things.

the more i think about it, the more at least in the show the whole wolsey bastard situation probably pissed stephen off because he saw how dorthea was essentially treated the same way he was treated by his own father. wolsey probably reminded stephen of his own father, in a negative way. because he had to have known about it. he probably had such a high opinion of wolsey at first, and then saw how dorthea was hushed away like a nuisance, and again, that is what happened to stephen. it's like they were both punished for being born out of wedlock.

which is so funny because the contrast to thomas is that thomas also saw wolsey as his father, a father figure who saved him and whom he loved. one who would never hurt him, and actually gave him the chance to be well, him. they were both essentially 'sons' of wolsey, sons that he had brought up, both lowborn just like wolsey but they also had such different views. and stephen started to resent him, even if in secret. at least in the show - because historically wolsey and stephen were besties.

i know we don't really develop into stephen's mind, but we know his parental situation in the book is a sore spot for him and i *think* that context is left out of the show. but that would've been another awesome parallel between them.

now tho, if stephen and thomas were friends, and stephen saw how thomas treated his own bastard now that probably would've given thomas some points in his book--
