okay im gonna get off of steve and tom wolf hall parallels but i can't get over the whole father parallel things.

the more i think about it, the more at least in the show the whole wolsey bastard situation probably pissed stephen off because he saw how dorthea was essentially treated the same way he was treated by his own father. wolsey probably reminded stephen of his own father, in a negative way. because he had to have known about it. he probably had such a high opinion of wolsey at first, and then saw how dorthea was hushed away like a nuisance, and again, that is what happened to stephen. it's like they were both punished for being born out of wedlock.

which is so funny because the contrast to thomas is that thomas also saw wolsey as his father, a father figure who saved him and whom he loved. one who would never hurt him, and actually gave him the chance to be well, him. they were both essentially 'sons' of wolsey, sons that he had brought up, both lowborn just like wolsey but they also had such different views. and stephen started to resent him, even if in secret. at least in the show - because historically wolsey and stephen were besties.

i know we don't really develop into stephen's mind, but we know his parental situation in the book is a sore spot for him and i *think* that context is left out of the show. but that would've been another awesome parallel between them.

now tho, if stephen and thomas were friends, and stephen saw how thomas treated his own bastard now that probably would've given thomas some points in his book--

Creating Atypical/Original Characters

In my personal experience, it shocks me how many times I go into an RPG and see a vat-full of sarcastic "too-cool-for-school" type characters. One or two is more than enough to fill that quota, but the last RPG I was in, I'd say about 80% of the group were just that. I get it, though! We all secretly want to embody that vibe. The cool vibe of IDGAF, where you can say anything you want and be praised for it. Let me tell you, though, if those are the only characters around, you're going to wind up with annoyed players because there's always going to be that one person that's going to compete for the top-dog spot of the MOST sarcastic and MOST IDGAF character of all time. It's not cool.

So! I introduce you to alternative ideas or at least the process to your own alternative ideas!

Me? In spite of what I just said, I love those sarcastic bastards with all my heart and I have a few of my own. However, if you really love that brand, give them depth! Do NOT make them be a one-note. With that said, the go-to is adding in a tragic past like someone died. When I say depth, I mean in terms of personality, not just backstory alone. This is where we are going to start with creating our atypical/original character.

PERSONALITY

1. Find your dominant personality trait, and then sprinkle in some undertones.

Let's say you're going for someone who's outgoing. Are they going to be bubbly sunshine or talks just way too much, making inadvertent awkward conversation? Just because you choose one path does not mean there is only one way to travel down it. You can have someone who is outgoing but also terrible with social cues. They could have a good heart but they also make people cringe when they see them coming their way, and I find that beautiful. Mix it up! Sometimes throw in contradictions that shouldn't work, but somehow do. Why do you think anti-heroes are a thing?

2. Set a moral compass.

This is something I always think about when I'm creating my characters. On a scale of Ted Bundy to Mother Theresa, where do they fit? Sometimes it's not even as clear cut as that either. I have one character who is an absolute monster, a total sadist and manipulator, but he has an odd sense of civil justice. Characters, like people, will probably have a gray area somewhere in their moral compass. Tap into that, explore it. It can definitely shape their personality. Why do they think that way? What are their boundaries? How do they justify what they do? Are they a hypocrite? If you're creating a murderer, are they really executing it personally or dictating that someone should be killed? Would they have the moral backbone to do it themselves?

3. The Scales.

Humanity boils down to a few scales, in my opinion. You have intelligence, sexual/romantic prowess, class/manners, and temperament/stablity. For example, I have one character who is very book smart. He is mediocre in common sense. He is asexual with repulsion towards it, but he's an awkward romantic. He is highly well-mannered in a Victorian-esque way. Temperament-wise, he can be irritated but usually cowardly.

Some of these may sound as though they overlap, so think of it like this:

Intelligence is self-explanatory (and if you break it down to three sub-sections of book-smarts, street smarts, and common sense, it helps even more)

Sexual/Romantic Prowess is more or less like the sex-drive or the kind of forwardness they would have. Think of it as a scale from a prude to a professional and experienced escort. Even if your character is asexual, are they still flirty or are they reserved?

Class/Manners is related to how they present themselves. Are they crude or are they refined? You can have someone with a filthy mind actually be incredibly cultured, charming you right into their pants. On the flip-side, you can have someone super reserved with the crudest sense, cursing under their breath with words that'd curl your hair or eating with their unwashed hands. Uhg.

Temperament/Stability is more of an anger test. A good litmus test would be having your character stub their toe. Do they wince but move on after a moment? Does it bother them at all? Or do they fucking flip the goddamn table and yell at it for just existing? Think about how volatile they are or how utterly zen-like they are. Just like I mentioned before, you can have someone that is super crude be really chill. You can also have someone with fantastic class be ready to blow your head off. It's just all in how you play them to show that.

Remember, if you think of more scale-types, go ahead and add them! The more you expand, the more unique they will become! The ones I've listed are just the main ones I immediately go to.

BACKSTORY

I think all of us (and I am particularly guilty of this) tend to favor a dark backstory for their characters, and it usually revolves around some kind of deep, personal loss. There is nothing wrong with that, but it can be repetitive if it's something that frequently pops up in your character portfolio.

1. Try not to kill anyone.

Killing NPCs off is so damn easy. Having a hard time thinking of their family? Kill them off when they're too young to really remember them. Boom. Problem solved, right? Yeah, but then what? Now, I love a good orphan, self-made character. Love them to *bits* (especially since I have one of my own), but let's try something different if you've already done that. Why I say this is not only to deviate from the typical but also to put something away for the future. When you lose your muse, hit up that little bank of family ties. Once you've killed them off, there is no taking that shit back unless you have an elaborate plot about them faking their death. Maybe keep them around instead. Give them a strained relationship. Keep only one in the picture. How about an overbearing relationship, where they just love them way too much and still cry whenever they call them up? Are they an only child? The favorite child? Did they find another mom/dad replacement as years went by?

2. Create a different bad experience.

I can't help it. I'm a sucker for dark backstories, but we're going to keep going with the first suggestion and not kill anyone. Instead, we're going to focus on other solutions. Could be criminal, or personal, or even stupid but with meaning to your character. I don't know if anyone remembers Courage the Cowardly Dog, but there was an episode of a whale that was so hell-bent on revenge, and do you know what he wanted revenge for? For some guy cheating him out of his favorite accordion in a poker game. That shit blew my goddamn mind as a child, and as you can tell, it still blows my goddamn mind today. That's the kind of backstory shit I can get behind and make me want to learn more.

3. Look on the bright side.

So, enough about those bad memories. Maybe your character had a charmed life! Oh, how I hate that nice characters somehow equal boring characters to people, and this would be the same to backstories. Nice backstories don't have to be boring. Your character could have won the fucking lottery. They could have been class president by releasing an unhinged scandal against their opponent without remorse. They could be just lucky, which means that luck can definitely change when you play them. Also, as a bonus, how would they even handle a downfall when they've never experienced it before? What kind of dramatic fucking character arc could they fall into? Sign me the fuck up.

GENERAL ADVICE/FINAL NOTES

1. Every character should be forged from a part of your soul. Forget about the term self-insert because if you don't feel a personal connection to your character, that character has no life. End of story. You're playing an asshole? Don't tell me you've never had a terrible thought in your mind before, just funnel all of that into them. Any aspect of yourself that catches even you off guard is something to tap into and run with.

2. Look back at those that you've already created and see what you're missing. I do this all the time. I usually oscillate my moral compass between the wretched and the innocent just to keep myself in balance. I try to find something I haven't tried before and then build on it. If you have a ton of bubbly characters, try someone emo. If you have a ton of moody shits, go for the flower child.

3. Everyone creates their character from a different building block. Some will start off with an FC. I start with personality usually. On occasion, I will also start with a profession. This is especially true when I see an RPG I love and try to find my little niche to settle into. Go through masterlists like [x] or [x] that can help mold your muse into something that has your own spin on it.

What has your muse been up to in the last year?:

The past year has displayed something that closely resembles normalcy. She’s fallen into a pattern of dometiscity, but not one that feels tedious. Work has been steady, well as steady as it can be ( and of course, for this stablity she is thankful ) for a nurse; she is at the hospital, at least seventy percent of her time. The rest of the thirty is either spent with Catherine, friends or sleeping. She makes sure to take at least two days off, every month because things can get very stressful around the hospital, so sometimes she just needs a break. On those days off, she does grocery shopping, cleans, chores around the house or if she’s feeling particularly sluggish, she’ll sleep for a whole day, occasionally getting up to watch The Nanny. Her routine from day to day mirrors that of, wakes up around five in the morning, makes coffee, takes a shower/finds her scrubs. ( Her closet is very well-organized, from color, designer and product, though she doesn’t have many personal clothes since she is in scrubs seventy percent of the time. ) Then she goes downstairs to eat something -- she doesn’t particularly enjoy breakfast unless she has time to enjoy it, but she knows it’s healthy to eat something before the start of the day. Then she usually wades around, listening to the morning news and getting her bag ready. It’s six now and Catherine is still asleep, she won’t be up for another hour or so, Farren kisses her on the cheek, collects anything she thinks her wife might forget and set’s in on the counter and leaves a tiny note. Then she goes to work, depending on her shift and usually, she’s home around nine at night, if she’s lucky. Occasionally she’ll go out with her coworkers after, but she tries not to stay up too late, wanting to get home to her wife. She knows Catherine is rather independent, so it’s good they don’t spend every waking moment together. That doesn’t mean Farren doesn’t often worry about Catherine. Not that second grade teacher’s could get into any horrible accident, unless it’s with an addition book or uncooked macaroni noodles. But that doesn’t necessarily quell the tremulous thoughts in her mind. On weekends, she’s usually at work but tries to take it easy -- Catherine is pretty understanding when she needs to cover a last minute shift, or go into work late. And periodically, I’d say about every three months, she goes to visit her mother ( which obviously is not often ). She has always had a trepidatious relationship with her mother and the last time they spoke, or the last time her mother was really lucid, she slapped Farren, which left Farren no other option, than to cut a majority of ties. She doesn’t talk about her mother’s condition often, knows the older woman prefers it that way. Mary Ivers, the great archeologist, prided herself on her brilliant mind and now, it’s mostly gone. She feels absolute guilt for not going to family dinners at the nursing home or trying to retain her mother’s feeble memories. But her mother hurt her very much, so she rarely goes to see her. There was a time Farren visited her mother before her wedding, this is when she wasn’t in the nursing home and she was still a bit coherent. Farren was hesitant to visit in the first place, she knew her mother had not even opened her invitation yet and when she got there, Mary warned it was a mistake to marry Catherine, that the girl was reckless and would break her heart. Farren didn’t understand why her mother would be so cruel, claimed that she didn’t know Catherine like she did. But the last thing she said was, “that girl will be your undoing.” This fact, Catherine does not know and although Farren didn’t take it to heart, sometimes the words quiver within the confines of her mind. So it’s been very strenuous since then. As for vacations, last summer, she finally took the week off and the couple headed up to New Brunswick to a quaint little B & B, Catherine scoped out. They always try and take these mini vacations, just to renew themselves. During those hours, they get lost in each other because although the love lies beneath the surface, always lingering about, Farren makes time to get to know Catherine again. Remember the things she loves and cherishes about her partner. She adores those times together, though it takes abotu a day or two, to get her to stop looking at her phone to see any updates at the hospital. Sometimes Catherine has to physically lock her phone in a safe. Other than that, life in Westbridge is pretty average -- it’s not a terrible exciting life, such as her mother’s but she’s grateful to live with solemn life. 

What was the last thing your muse said to Ben?

They lingered at the edge of the woods; hazel hues concentrating on the pair of red, converse her mother had gifted her, two birthdays prior. Her toes wiggled as she stood there, all lengthy with sharp edges, ( a symbol of processing maturity ) but her hair was pulled back in a neat, french braid that made her seem a bit immature. All of a sudden, she felt a pair of calculating eyes glance at her and with all the strength she could muster, she matched their gaze. It was not a foreign look for it only took a second to decipher, “take him home, he’ll follow if you hold his hand.” But the simple fact of the matter is, Farren didn’t want to be his chaperone for tonight. That usually meant escorting him home before arriving at her own because a sullen part of her mind had conjured up that her friends have already set off without her. She hesitated for a brief moment, tense breaths surrendering from her lungs. “Ben,” Farren began, getting down on her knees so she was eye-level with him. She used her best maternal voice, the one that came in handy when they were younger and played house. Of course, she was the mother, a role she fell into effortlessly due to her serene nature. “We’re just gonna talk for awhile okay? About grown-up stuff --” As if she even knew what that meant. But how could she tell a young boy that pervaded a subtle innocent what they were really going to do? After all, he just wanted to be included, she was sure if she had older siblings, she’d feel the exact same way. “--but I’ll come visit you later? We can go get ice cream.” The boy stayed silent, his eyes widening as he realized, he would not be accompanying the group -- if Farren said no, it was most likely a no. He then nodded, his lips parting ever so slightly as if to protest, but then his mouth closed as he wrapped his arms around her neck. The rest stayed silent as Farren placed a hand on the small of his back, guiding him where most couldn’t discern if the trees, began or stopped. “Look both ways before crossing the streets okay? And don’t dawdle.” She instructed, a delicate smile curving her lips upwards.

Based on what you know of the other characters, who in the group of friends do you believe your muse got along with? Who do you think they may have clashed with?

Well, let’s see. When Farren was younger, she was the peacemaker; tried to befriend everyone because maybe she thought a little too much about whether or not people cared for her. She was the mothering type, always making sure everyone else was okay and having a good time, besides herself. But she hung around Sylvia a lot because they lived next door to each other and had rooms right next to each other -- so she often left cute little notes for Sylvia on her window. Not to mention the fact that their parents were having an affair -- her mother and Sylvia’s father. At the time of this affair, Farren was a little too innocent and naive to really understand the consequences of it and how it could affect her home life. Which it really didn’t, other than she suddenly felt very awkward every time she countered Sylvia’s mother. But she assumed the woman knew about it, practically everyone in town did. Her mother wasn’t married, but went for the emotionally and most often times physically, ( just in the fact that they were in a relationship ) unavailable. She also was a very attractive, confident woman so it’s only natural that the two fell into bed together. This affair went on for awhile and whilst it affected Sylvia more, Farren tried not to think about it, avoided the subject completely and pushed the thoughts as far from her mind as possible. She already had enough to deal with, let alone her mother’s terrible choice in men. Anyways, Farren was always kind of quiet, if only to voice her worries. But she liked Sylvia because the girl liked to talk, about everything and anything and that filled Farren’s silence. They were a good pair, complimenting each other in various ways. Wonderment also struck Farren of all the knowledge the young redhead possessed, almost as if she was a walking encyclopedia and was always glad to lend an ear. As for Catherine, well Farren was a bit in awe of the young girl. They were complete opposites, and most often than not, she didn’t understand Catherine’s carefree and sometimes, mean nature. It made her worry, made her overthink things, even though she knew her primitive years weren’t supposed to be this hard. The two weren’t close, almost like passing ships in the night but that didn’t stop Farren from admiring from afar. Her future wife’s sometimes, coarse went along with Elliot, she clashed with him the most, unsure how she really ever felt about the man. She knew behind that rugged facade, there was a little boy who just wanted to be loved, so she greeted him with kindness, even if she didn’t always receive it back. They were like fire and water, contrasting. Then as she got older, she got closer to Noah, a man who still lived in Westbridge and who she often visited. She enjoyed being around him and partly due to his chosen profession, but she felt safe around him. And Henry, Henry is one of her best friends because they seem to bring out the best in each other. Henry seemed like a home away from home, especially since he didn’t grow up in Westbridge. There was a part of him that didn’t make Farren want to scream into the abyss because he felt like a souvenir in some ways. Acctually there is not an unique definition of RDTA. I think there are two ways to say that. One is normally seen as the RDTA with tank, most of vapers use this type. But problems appear at the same time, the over-sized chamber can not compress the cloud well, so the vapers can only enjoy the the big cloud with lower wattage to win a fine experience of uising common coils and wires.

In short, NEW LIMITLESS is deserved to vapers to have great vaping experience except the leaking problem sometimes due to the seal issue.  

⑤MAGE COMBO RDTA

Next comes the tips to use the RDTAs. We can say that RDTA’s tank is not the tank of RTA. How so? First, If you use long cotton, it may be not easy to install the Atomizer. Second, the length of cotton will influence the speed of juice-leading. Third, the cotton waste the storage space of the tank. Moreover, it will cause juice waste because the left juice on the cotton can not be utilized.    

Therefore, The tank can be thought just like a portable juice storage system. The way to rebuild coils is the same as RDA. The only difference is to make the cotton foot longer to decrease the leaking problems. For RDA users, when you find little juice left, you can make the atomizer upside down to lead the the juice to the cotton foot. It costs only 2~3 seconds to provide enough juice to the coils.
