I just watched the Deadpool movie the other day, it makes fun of Marvel and has a lot of gay sex (fight scenes between Deadpool and Wolverine)

twenty minutes in, and i have to say there is something perversely fascinating about a movie that slings an arm round your shoulder and says cheerfully: "so... marvel sucks, right? we can all agree that marvel sucks, right? it's sucked for a while now, hasn't it? yeah. and guess what? this movie is gonna suck too. and it's gonna have a ton of cameos and unfunny banter and predictable plot beats, just like all the others. you're still going to watch it, though, aren't you? of course you are, you're watching it right now. well, don't let me stop you."

Secrets of the Obscure is alright and all but am I the only one kinda miffed that they ripped off a lot of it from Dragon Age: Inquisition and didn't really add or change enough to be it's own unique thing?

even the rift hunting mechanic is Exactly The Same, because you Open the rift, then fight something then close it. the animation is almost 1-1 and even the eye in the rift looks like the Inquisition eye. if it wasn't for the fact that Even The Mechanic is the same I might not have noticed it so much, but the more I play the more blatant it feels

and then their wizard lore also just feels like how demons come out of the Fade in Dragon Age to possess mages. it's almost exact

disclaimer that I'm still enjoying it because it's fun and I like that we get to see Zojja again and have a better map for practicing skyscales for those who don't have one yet, but uh...this whole plot was stolen!

and yes I know there are certain fantasy tropes that re-occur in fantasy over and over, but this doesn't feel like that. it feels like the writers legit just snapped the base ideas from DAI and then barely added or changed anything to make it uniquely Guild Wars

imo it's definitely the weakest of all the packs

which is a shame because I LOVEDDDDD the intro. the whole sequence of having to defend yourself and run for your life was so ridiculously tense, I really felt like I was playing a horror game

but now I'm on Ep. 7 and all the potential feels wasted because I feel like I'm playing the underwritten fanfiction of another game that I already played 10 years ago and didn't like that much the first time

To me that very much comes across as a poorly worded way of saying "Mick's a good driver, sure, but he's not the kind of one in a million driver who's so good that you'd put him in an unfamiliar car with no FP1 sessions, no sim time, and the risk that the team he's already got a contract with could take him away the second they need him, leaving us to find yet another replacement. Given those risks, we'd rather go with someone we already have a contract with who we've at least had the chance to give some sim time to so he knows what to expect and we know what to expect"

beginning to actively mistrust anybody who doesn't post about or discuss female characters with the same level of investment as male ones.

there are definitely posts that explain what I'm saying better, but the amount of misogyny in pretty much every fandom space is genuinely exhausting. m/m is consistently most popular even when there are barely any men in the work. women are acknowledged by relationships first, demoted to male characters' sisters and mothers and daughters and annoyed lesbian best friends. most of what people manage to say about girls and women lacks depth, merely "omg i love her!" or "she's such a bitch."

and there is a lot of popular media where female characters are vastly outnumbered by male ones, so focusing on male characters may seem less insiduous, but... why are there only male characters to begin with? or better yet - why do so many people ONLY engage with media that centers men, or curate a fandom experience that centers men?

bizarre to me that to this day that there are people who have played/are playing undertale and deltarune determined not to engage with the obvious, blatant, and unsubtle meta aspects of its narrative. "player theory" what do you mean theory. that's just the text. are you playing the same game everyone else is I wanna know.

Thoughts on the Israeli government?

that's a whole can of worms that i don't have the energy to get into, especially in english. to me the current people in the knesset are ruining this country. the majority of the citizens don't want them in these positions of power, and we have major protests every saturday night, but they just... ignore it, and continue to do whatever they please, disregarding the fact that every thing that they do is hurting everyone here, even those who voted for them.

basically things are bad. and that's not even getting into queer and ethnic minorities who suffer even more from the situation.

finding non english speaking parts of the internet is so hard dude. like ok maybe spanish or russian or french youll run into but have u ever tried to find NORWEGIAN internet??????? My options are r/norge (reddit) or norwegian political twitter (everyone is 30+, a lot of the vocabulary is uncommon and difficult for me to read). i genuinely can find jack shit elsewhere. everytime ive found someone who talked about stuff i cared about, they ended up being danish after further inspection (languages are similar enough that until i see a clear indicator of danish, i can read large swathes of text w/ full understanding thinking it's norwegian)(at this point i may as well take up danish as a side hobby since i can already read 90% of it).

Today for the first time ever i found a norwegian TEENAGER online and they were a southpark shipper (who 99% posted in english anyways) 😭😭😭😭
